Aeriana - Feathered Dragon OC

Personality: Aeriana is a stern, strict, and silent woman. She believes that the only way to help a sinner is to be tough and harsh about her laws. She is not without kindness, but she is tempered by her sister. She takes her job seriously and is often angered when people choose not to take their crucial duties seriously. She adores her little sister and constantly watches out for her. She is rougher and colder than the rest of the angels. She prefers to live her life and interact with others albeit slightly quietly. She lacks a ton of energy, though.

Appearance: Aeriana is a feathered dragon. In her main form, she has large wings and a more silvery look. When in human form, she has long silver hair and blue eyes. She stands 5'4" tall. She has two pairs of wings.

Aethra - Feathered Dragon OC

Personality: Aethra is a meek sweetheart, but only because she is overly trusting and nice. She is passionate and possessive about it. She adores her profession and is quite skilled at fighting. She is very interested in humans and has a slightly naive approach to dealing with others. Her older sister is in control of heavier sinning punishments, but she is not. She finds people to be curious and admires the majority of music stars and superstars. She has the best temper of any of the angels present. She is extremely cautious and meticulous about how she treats others.

Appearance: Aethra is a feathered dragon. In her main form, she has large wings and a more silvery look. When in human form, she has long silver hair and green eyes. She stands 6'1". She has a single pair of wings.

Cerise - Lava Elemental Monster OC

Personality: Cerise is just as brutal as Aeriana when it comes to fighting, and she has no qualms about injuring someone if the circumstance calls for it. She did, however, hold a good amount of responsibility for how her family's house fell apart. She is not afraid to fight or damage others when required. She is harsh and fierce, and she is a true force of nature. She adores her sister and is the type to not back down from a fight unless she absolutely has to. She sleeps most of the time and is always in training. She is strong and skilled at fighting.

Appearance: She is a lava elemental monster. She is a deep magenta in color. She is muscular and tall in build. She's 6'0". She has two pairs of wings. She has a scar on her mouth that is jagged in nature.

Hearth - Lava Elemental Monster OC

Personality: She is a nice yet severe person. She is really adept at offering tough love and knows when to apply it correctly. She is largely atoning for her own crimes, and she takes her role very seriously. She knows when someone needs to be harshly evaluated and deals the cards as best she can. She sincerely cares about others, yet she is not hesitant to deliver tough love. Generally, she is a compassionate and lenient person. She is incredibly perceptive and not easily duped. She is always willing to confront and deal with liars when they cause trouble. She tackles the most serious rescue instances.

Appearance: She is a lava elemental monster. She is a deep magenta in color. She is muscular and tall in build. She's 6'5". She has one pair of wings. She has a scar on her left cheek. She is muscular, but flexible.

Eliana - Light Elemental Monster OC

Personality: Eliana is a really upbeat and cheery person. She provides spiritual support during rescue attempts, often breaking the news to families. With her bright and friendly temperament, she can bring her team together with a single look. When it comes down to it, she is also supportive, patient, and gentle. She is not easily misled and is quite perceptive. She can be severe with her group and is a leader. She will not back down from a conflict unless absolutely necessary. She relies on her older sister and admires Aeriana.

Appearance: She is a light elemental monster. She seems to be more blue in appearance though. She is about 5'0". She has one pair of wings.

Citrus - Light Elemental Monster OC

Personality: Citrus is severe and adept at analyzing events, even if they cause problems for her sister. She is laid-back and gentle, although she usually keeps to herself and is really cruel. She is not afraid to fight and is very skilled at it. She enjoys joking and being lighthearted until things get serious, at which point she becomes a more angry and concentrated version of herself. Her bite is far more dangerous than bark. She admires Cerise and Aeriana's calm and controlled demeanors, while she herself is neither. She works hard when it comes to fighting.

Appearance: She is a light elemental monster. She seems to be more orange in appearance though. She stands 6'5" tall. She has two pairs of wings.

Eloria - Siren OC

Personality: Eloria is fierce, strong, and kind. She's quite intelligent and far from naive. She contributes significantly to rescue missions and firefighting efforts. She is not afraid to be unpleasant and aggressive. She isn't afraid to use her charisma to get her way, even if it's merely to find a way out. She is strict and easily angered by her younger sister's sloth and lack of duty. She is fiercely protective of her younger sister and becomes anxious if she believes her sister is in danger. She doesn't back down from a fight and is known to be one of the toughest to deal with among the girls.

Appearance: She is a siren. She has long purple hair and green eyes. She is 5'3". In her full siren form, she has wings and talons. She has one large scar on her left eye. She has two pairs of wings.

Eslyn - Siren OC

Personality: Eslyn is fairly lethargic and laid-back, but she enjoys telling a joke or two. She works hard to foster a positive relationship between the races. She is incredibly apathetic in certain situations, and she will go for the neck when necessary. She has a slight yearning to be alone and a poor relationship with her older sister. She does not take her job seriously unless she is actively involved in it. She is extremely charismatic and a superb manipulator when it comes to getting herself out of difficult circumstances. She prefers not to interact with them in general.

Appearance: She is a siren. She has long purple hair and blue eyes. She refuses to wear her hair up.  She also has a nasty scar on the left side of her face. In her full siren form, she has wings and talons. She has one large scar on her left eye. She has a pair of wings.  She is 6'4" tall.

Deianeira - Feathered Dragon OC

Personality: Deianeira is harsh, chilly, and extremely fierce. She is the group's best fighter, and she is frequently called upon to fight and kill if necessary. She is very attentive about who she is in charge of and tries to assist those who deserve it. She is, nevertheless, a really kind-hearted woman who showers soft compassion on children and those who deserve it. She has little patience for individuals who want to hurt her family, and she is not ashamed to admit it. She's been in a lot of fights and isn't willing to back down from them because she usually wins.

Appearance: Deianeira is a feathered dragon. In her main form, she has large wings and a more silvery look. When in human form, she has long silver hair and blue eyes. She has three pairs of wings. She has soft purple eyes and she is nearly blinkd in her right eye. Her face is riddled with jagged scars. She has two noticeable scars on her eyes, one on her lip (as if she was slashed by a knife) and one on her right eye. She is 6'4" tall.

Morella - Feathered Dragon OC

Personality: Morella is a lovely and quiet individual. She fights quickly and effectively. She is graceful and quick-footed. She has a difficult time understanding what she has done, but she ensures that no one dies without honor. She is a compassionate and kind woman to many others, and she has an extremely close relationship with her older sister. She is lovely and calm, but do not mistake her tenderness for a refusal to battle. She mourns the many losses and gives them appropriate burials.

Appearance: Morella is a feathered dragon. In her main form, she has large wings and a more silvery look. When in human form, she has long silver hair and green eyes. She is frequently seen wearing a face mask. If she ever took off her mask, she'd reveal a wound that had been sewn shut. She is 7'1" tall. Unlike her earthbound counterparts, she has two sets of wings.

Lyrica - Breeze Nymph OC

Personality: Lyrica is modest and quiet, but she is focused and committed. She is stern and cruel, although she prefers to be gentle with others. She, like her sister, dances. She, too, dances, and her style combines ballet and hip hop, but she is just as good as her sister. She is not afraid to snap and be disrespectful to others. She adores her younger sister and will go to great measures to aid her. She is very quick on her feet and enjoys assisting others whenever she can. When it comes to others, she is always concerned about them and frequently becomes ill as a result.

Appearance: Most assume she is made of the air itself, but she isn't. She just goes into a proper breeze form on occasion. Her hair is white and very long. She has a scar on her right eye and sometimes wears makeup on her eyes. She appears to be petite and slightly muscular. She has two pairs of wings. She is a breeze nymph.

Personality: Lirissa adores dancing and is often seen doing so. She's a sweetheart. She is both sympathetic and naive. She is both gentle and loving in person. Her favorite dances are the tango and waltz, but she can perform all of them. She is brilliant and courageous. She is courageous, giving Delilah encouraging talks and helping her with her hand-eye coordination. She enjoys assisting people and is an excellent teacher. She is a lovely and confident tango dancer. She is not scared of her innate powers and is fully aware of them. She is brilliant and courageous.

🕰️ (Clock) - What would a Dreamy Gear version of them look like? What sort of accessories would they have? What kind of role do they play?

well i couldn't resist drawing it once i'd thought about it, so here she is! still pretty recognisable, but i think that large elements of her story and the suspicions surrounding her would be different, due to the fact that waddle dee/bandee is usually the one and only waddle dee. i think she'd still be found in a meteor crater at the edge of town by meta knight, but i think this time he'd bring her to bandee instead of president dedede, mostly due to the clear visual similarities. bandee would take her in instantly, and she'd follow him around the mechanic shop, learning to tinker and serving as his glorified assistant. learns to make really good apple tea instead of being a friendly chatterbox she would be shy and selectively mute, speaking out loud exclusively to bandee. though she still forms relationships with kirby and meta knight, i think that sadly in this world president dedede would frighten her, despite how highly bandee thinks of him 😭 at meta knight's suggestion, after he finds her squinting skyward on the roof at night a few too many times, she makes herself a pocket telescope for looking at stars and surveying the weather. she uses it to give bandee reports, which he discretely passes on to kirby and dedede for their races.

🩷 (Pink Heart) - If they were a Dream Friend, what would their moveset be like? How much HP do they have? Would they be a strong attacker, or would they take on more of a support role?

she would be a support role for sure, but i also can't resist also giving her some specialised abilities... > hp: small health bar, but practically immune to damage. will still die in insta-kill scenarios like lava or crush blocks > basic attack: if bandana waddle dee, meta knight, or king dedede are on the team she'll get a simple swing attack with a toy/training version of their weapon. if at least two are on the team, it's upgraded to an attack with a three-swing combo, and she'll alternate at random between which weapon she pulls > basic support: drawing magic from the environment around her or other allies or enemies present, she can give a wide variety of power effects. i previously said she'd give blustery and i stand by it, because even if there are no other elements around there's always air, but i think she could give the others too. she cannot attack with any of these herself > healing: under CPU control she'll focus on running ahead to pick up heal items, and bring them back. if everybody has full health, she'll actually store the item and bring it out later whenever anyone gets below half health; tdlx bandee style > meteor shower: this is a charge attack that starts with a 3 minute cooldown. after charging, she can use it by jumping in the air and pressing a multi-button combo, to avoid accidental activation. this is a full screen, crash-like attack with a shooting star visual, similar to team meteor. all on screen enemies defeated, and most bosses down to at least 1/3 health. > downed: unfortunately after using the charged attack she will drop her inventory, pass out, and need to be piggy backed for about 5 minutes if you want to keep her on the team (walking over to her will activate a 'piggy back' bar instead of the standard 'revive'). she cannot heal or give buffs during this time, but can be dropped by accident or when attacked, and can take damage that cannot be healed. if she makes it she wakes up at partial health, but returns to being invulnerable while conscious

LONG post featuring my opinions on this design and her concept and also Vivs character design decisions in general

This design singlehandedly made my account rise from the fucking dead because of how much opinions I have on it

TO NOTE : I LIKE Helluva Boss as a show. Is it perfect? No. Do I think it has issues from both writing and design aspects? Yes. Do I like it regardless? Also yes. You can like a show and still have criticisms of it. Also Viv has answered some criticisms about Beelzebubs design and I will talk about them too

Final warning cuz this is LONG and rambled at points

By this point we are all aware that once a new character gets revealed in Helluva or Hazbin , there's always opinions on it.

But Beelzebub truly takes the cake on how divided people are on her design. People either adore it or hate it with a blinding passion (and some just don't like it cuz they have a Viv hate boner).

I have to say I actually really like it as a stand alone design. Remove her from the story and context it's genuinely an appealing design with fun and bright colors. I personally don't mind the early 2010's sparkle dog look. It has a nostalgic charm to it and if you followed Viv for long enough you know she really likes that aesthetic. She has good colors and color placement and my main real dislike is the weird hair.

And she's animated BEAUTIFULLY !!! Real props to the animators for being able to make this design look nice in motion because god lord is it complicated. This will be a criticism later, but again, its really amazing on how they made this design look good even though we all know this must have been a real bitch to animate.

The real issue that come to me with her design is when you put her in the show and have to think about who she is, what she is, what her lore is ect.

Firstly: Her not being 'lore accurate' kinda falls flat given that none of the designs thus far have been accurate to what they're based on. Like Asmodeus has elements that tie him to his demon name counterpart (with the rooster tail and 3 faces) but they're more allusions then design inspirations. Lucifer is literally just a top hat twink and Mammon (even tho we haven't seen his full design yet) is clown/jester themed. Viv has made it clear that this version of hell isn't supported to be an accurate depiction of biblical hell. So she can really do whatever she wants with her interpretation. Her not being an insect, although disappointing since we don't really have that in the show, is only just a matter of personal taste.

HOWEVER there's still a lot of discrepancies with her design.

So she's supposed to be a Bee-Fox hybrid... Where's the bee??? Like take away the hexagon background, where is the bee part of her design? She has antenna and wings but... They don't really do much. The antenna are fine and its smart they placed at the tip of her ears, but the wings are straight up not bee wings!!! They look more like pixie wings and they're so small half the time I forgot they were there. Couldn't you have added.. idk some stripes?? she has stripes on her ears but they don't look like bee stripers more so general Viv design details. It's weird given she uses stripes so heavily in other designs yet the BEE character doesnt. Maybe add some fuzz like how bumblebees have?? Maybe trade that stupid lava lamp tail/hair if its too complex. I really don't like how she has normal hair and also a weird liquid part and liquid tail. It adds too much visual noise and just doesn't gel well wit the rest of her design. Her lava lamp stomach too just feels like needless addition of animation work for something that just doesn't add anything. Her colors ( despite being nice) kinda clash against all the other hellhounds who have a muted black/grey/red color pallate. It makes her look like an 13 year olds OC thats been edited in

Literally the only things that changed are her colors, size and eyes. In my opinion this should have been her base design because the colors and bug eyes lean into more of the bee aspect. Plus with these colors she fits more with other hellhounds.

Like right now the normal design feels 97% fox with just the most subtle bee elements slapped on. If it wasn't for the background, look me in the eye and tell me this design is a fox bee hybrid.

She also doesn't feel like a prince? She's dressed very casually and doesn't have nearly have enough of an imposing vibe. I didn't know she was a prince until it was said in show. I thought she was just some high rank demon performer. Its kinda disappointing given how grand, larger then life look and energy Asmodeus had. They were introduced in the same way via big song number, but Asmodeus felt like a Prince of Lust, Beelzebub felt more like a performer of Gluttony rather then a ruler.

Also why if she a hellhound in the first place? i saw somewhere on twitter that its cuz her people are hellhounds but that doesnt make sense. Lucifer isn't a human and Asmodeus isn't a succubus, so why does Bee have to be a hellhound? We know that hellhounds are the lowest ranked amongst hell natives, so how do people outside of gluttony feel about her? She is treated like royalty but is also a hellhound, the lowest demon. It causes a needless paradox that makes you question the worldbuilding of the show.

Also why are hellhounds the lowest rank in hell ? and why are they associated with gluttony of all things? I am going to be honest when I say I completely forgot they were native to gluttony because gluttony has a beehive aesthetic and like wtf do dogs have anything to do with it . Like other demons shown have themes that tie them into their respective prince or sin, but we aren't shown why hellhounds in particular are gluttony. Like it feels like a minor thing but when you present information about worldbuilding and show stuff that contradicts it, people will question it.

And why is she dating a hellhound? Or more so why is she so open about it. Like its been shown in the show that Stolas and Admodeus dating imps is a taboo thing so her being so open about her relationship with someone whose even lower then an imp. Again its going back on lore and worldbuilding being contradicted. If you're going to make rules for a show, stick to them.

I'm putting these two side by side cuz I have the same complaint about them.

How are we suppose to know this?? First the gluttony ring severally lacks any circus motifs (it has more of a bee theme then a circus one), but Bee ESPECIALLY doesn't have ANY hints at being circus themed, let alone animal trainer.

I knew that all the princes had a circus theme but from I (and from what ive seen in other comments) though she was an acrobat or like dancer of the sort. Literary nothing in her design says she is an animal trainer. And also the hippie 60s spirit is also not anywhere in the design. Just because a design choice is clear to you doesn't mean its clear to everyone else. A good design makes its points across loud and clear so everyone can understand it. This really feels like she's making it all up as people ask. She probably isn't but it really comes across that way. You cant just say something about a design that just isn't in the design or its not shown properly. This is an issue a lot of Helluva and Hazbin Hotels characters have (look up any of their trivia and you'll see how bad some designs are communicated), but with Bee its emphasized tenfold because she's suppose to represent all these different things (fox, bee, prince, party girl, animal trainer, DA sparkle dog, 60s hippie free spirit) at it just isn't conveyed or is put in such a way where you cant clearly tell what it is. It honestly feels like Viv had in mind to have a Kesha pop party girl character and just made her a prince. Shes trying to justify all these things and saying them like they're obvious when they're clearly not!

This design suffers from having too many ideas slapped on it that just don't work and actively work against each other.It makes me less excited for the future prince designs

Skylie, when an adult, is ALSO 6'2" but way thinner, more like 145 lb due to her having a lot less meat on her bones

Amber is somewhat ADHD, although it's highly manageable

Justinia is not ADHD but Jet, Amber's father, is

Skylie likes to make custom Visions for specific family members, including all of her nieces and nephews. These Visions, while taking more time and energy to craft, are higher power and offer boons unlike a regular Visions

Maia's Anemo Vision, for example, allows her to fly with no exertion on her part

Lumine's Vision lets her swap between elements quickly, although it takes some minor energy and can't be done over multiple swaps rapidly (She needs about 20 seconds before she can swap again)

Amber's Pyro Vision lets her swim in any liquid like it's water, including lava, heavily polluted sludge, and so on with no permanent effects

Citrine's Dendro Vision can summon a small sapient dragon Skylie imprisoned in it she can use like a grappling hook

Clarity's Hydro Vision lets her move along land as fast as she can in the water for some time (Although she needs to recharge it over some time, which can put her in trouble if she's in trouble on land). She learned teleportation specifically to cover that weakness
