Head Researcher Ffloyd Martins (top left):

Specializes in animals and monsters, but knows where to find information on pretty much any subject. Hard of hearing and a bit messy, looks and acts something like a mad scientist. Cares deeply for the people he works with… but since his default expression is irritated deadpan, that doesn't come across very well. 

Junior Research Moira Bentley (top right):

Mithaecal flora researcher and communications specialist, and is something of a nerd on both subjects. Can be a bit distant, but has a pleasant, helpful demeanor, and is easy to talk to. Looks and impressions are important to her, in contrast with her direct supervisor. As well as managing public relations, she also is teaching the team sign language to make things easier for Ffloyd.

Dr. Holley Laurent (bottom):

Resident medic. While she is very skilled and experienced and keeps up to date on studies, she often lets her personal opinions color her professionalism more than it should. Can be sweet as cherry candy, but has a mean streak. Has been in the department since forever, and despite her age shows no signs of retiring. Loves drama.

wada sez: This strip serves to explain what exactly was keeping Trailbreaker so busy that it took him so long to show up and save the day in Spotlight: Kup.
