A bit of symbolism under the cut, but I'm curious of other interpretations 👀✨

I matched The Star with Ruth based mostly on visuals and the reverse meaning (which among other things mentions feeling like everything is against you, which I thought fit her well).

Elements that represent hope, opportunities and shining bright from the original card are turned into foreshadowing of her death here.

Light - Her Moment, chance, ambitions and wants. The second she enters it, she's dead.

Background - theater seats, empty.

im honestly still just as wary about the next season of the witcher even after the table read -

because it was never about liam's acting skills.

do i think henry cavill was a spectacular match for geralt?

yeah. but not only because of his looks or his acting: he GOT geralt and the witcher in general. he's a massive nerd who knows the franchise like he wrote it himself and was a big reason (not the sole, but a big one) that the show kept on track and was even somewhat faithful to the original material.

but i don't believe cavill did a regé jean-page and like. left to seek stardom or whatever. this was a passion project too for him, you could tell.

no, I'm wary of the future of witcher because of the higher ups involved.

so what DID the people who disagreed so hard with him he quit the project do? well, they needed a 7000 word letter from joey batey and the fanbase pleading just to allow jaskier to be queer like he (pretty much) canonically is. didn't need incentive from anyone to create fake gay motives for the worse villain of the story, though. didn't need incentive to completely ruin one of the most beloved characters of the franchise, or let his actor get harassed on socials after the swap without ever saying shit.

i do not trust that these people, who have proven callous, arrogant and ignorant about both the source material and the opinions of the fanbase (and have made some choices nearing bigotry) and who disagreed so heavily with the actor who knew the source material best are capable of producing a good season 4. liam or no liam. am i hoping he's a good geralt? yes, the series and other actors don't deserve to have their performance harmed by him. can it be as good as the seasons cavill was in? for the reasons cited above: fuck no.

-The first time was right as Joey was about to start speaking for The Barbecue Monologues. The lights just went right out on him.

-So then when the power came back on and they kept going, Kim changed her line from "we missed a light cue" to "there was a problem with the lights."

-This understandably brought the house down.

-Then everything went back to normal until the moment when the lights go out because Max is haunting Ruth, at which point Lauren ad-libbed "OH NOT AGAIN!"

"COUNTER/weight" is real good. I knew that I'd like friends at the table a lot ("marielda" was my first full listen because I needed to learn how to GM for blades in the dark and then I got sucked in by the worldbuilding and the characters and the fucked up trees, right, the fucked up trees), but I'm about 27 episodes into this space opera/gundam/symphogear/cyberpunk melange and it's rewriting things inside my brain.

the concept of the divines are already so cool. but then austin-underscore-walker hits you with the deep haunting abyss, how this thing has had 1000s of years, millennia, long enough that humans have fundamentally changed in ways weird and strange and delightful and uncanny, and these horrific giant mechs were connected in ways that don't entire make sense to normal people, but once there was a lumberjack who was an unknowing pilgrim for a divine, someone who wanted to make a life for themselves, who was instead led off the beaten path, who tried to rise and was swatted down like a bug back into the woods, who was still never forgotten by the mechs that mattered most, even if their name was erased

I don't know, it's really something amazing.
