i know beyond a shadow of a doubt that no matter what age ransom & holster are when they get together as a couple, they rework their incredibly long & elaborate secret handshake to include a lil smooch at the end

actually now that i'm typing this out, this is definitely how they end up hard-launching their romantic relationship- which nearly fails before it can even start bc all of their friends have seen them do their secret handshake so many times after they win a game of beer pong or complete a great pass on ice or w/e, they don't see the point of being sat down to watch them do it again now

and even after they finally get everyone together, do the whole handshake, and finish with a dramatic kiss, and everyone sincerely congratulates them, holster gets frustrated bc their friends don't seem appropriately floored by this Brave Declaration of Love, so he asks what their deal is. unfortunately for him & ransom, that opens the floodgates of everyone listing examples of times r&h have openly kissed/ made out/ lovingly embraced/ gazed into each other's eyes in the presence of their long-suffering friends

my dad and i recording studio brand. i am a producer and musician and always loved just how music is made, what happens in a studio is very personal, and sacred. my dad who helped me learn how to create music, and love music, and this has always been his dream to not only help me as an artist, but other young artist pursue their dream. he’s older now and can’t move around like he did with his daughter years ago and making this studio makes him feel the way he did without breaking his knees.

The Volkswagen Auto-haus Nordstadt dealer in Hannover, Germany, had a very creative director back in the 1970s and 1980s named Günter Artz. In 1973, Artz built a Porsche 911-powered Volkswagen that caught the attention of many people, leading him to establish his modification business ARTZ, a subsidiary of Nordstadt. To create this Volkswagen Mr. Artz combined several vehicles. It started with the body of a VW 1302 (flat glass), the chassis of a 914 and the mechanics of a Porsche 911. While the car was being manufactured VW launched the 1303 (round glass) Mr. Artz then decided to put the roof from the 1303 onto his project. To achieve that factory “look”, almost everything on the 3 platforms was modified, 1000 hours were used in welding alone! In the end the result was a Volkswagen 1303 “mid engine” with 210hp and a 5speed in a chassis that could keep up with the best sports cars of its time.

If you're new around here too, allow me to reintroduce what this army of ducks is all about! Haus of Honk is my ceramic spin-off where I design items but don't craft them myself. Unlike Richard Moonstreet (where everything is hand made by me 100% from start to finish) the Haus collection is factory-made to my design. Not only does this mean all the productions are dishwasher, food and microwave-safe, but crucially it allows me to get duck silliness out there to folk who may not always have the means to pay the higher prices that comes with more labour-intensive handmade buddies. Plus they are more useful too! You can't drink your tea out of a Silly Goose or a Quackson Pollock (well you can but he'd be cross)

Lardo flings open the door and makes a beeline for Shitty’s bed so she can crawl out onto the Reading Room. She doesn’t even make it all the way onto the roof before she’s continuing her rant from their text chain.

“And like, I’m sort of shocked they waited till now to ask me, like, it’s almost finals? Did they think I just didn’t have my shit figured out already?” she asks, dumping her bag to one side and settling into her customary spot.

“Well—”

“Leaving aside the fact that I don’t have a living situation figured out yet, it just feels like a desperate move. Doesn’t bode well, you feel me?”

“For sure. Bear?” he asks, holding out the biggest bag of gummy bears she’s seen in a while toward her.

She raises a single eyebrow. “Did you accidentally buy a bag with the pink ones again?”

“...Maybe.”

“Bear me.” He passes over the bag and they take a moment to just watch the street, soaking up the breeze rustling through the leaves and the sounds of Beyoncé from the kitchen below them. The first taste of grapefruit makes her wrinkle her nose – she’s not the biggest fan of the flavor – but she’s not about to let Shitty absently snack on something that he’s mildly allergic to, so she keeps eating.

“So did you give them an answer already?” Shitty asks eventually, a weird expression on his face. Lardo squints at him, but lets it go in favor of answering.

“I told them I had to think about it,” she says, picking out the last few pink bears. “It’d be like, fine, but – ‘kay, I ate all the gross pink ones for you—”

“Brah,” he says, fake tearing up in gratitude. She punches him in the side of the arm and Shitty falls to the side with a dramatic groan. Lardo just rolls her eyes and continues her thought.

“—But, it's on the other side of campus. Plus, Claire's gonna sexile Lara weekly, and I don't wanna Judge Judy all senior year.” She leans back on her hands, more glad than ever she doesn’t have to use her brain any more today. “Man. Why the printmaking kids gotta be so damn horn a bajillion percent of the time?”

There’s a beat of silence where Shitty would normally make fun of her (admittedly strange) art friends, and then—

“So, Lards, ‘bout housing…I’m thinking you should have my dibs.” Lardo freezes at the words. Surely she didn’t hear correctly. He can’t have offered her his room in The Haus. He can’t have.

“I mean it makes a whole lotta sense, right? I mean, first, you practically fuckin’ love here anyway,” he says, ticking the items off on his fingers. “Second, it should be your right as manager. And third—” he meets her gaze squarely, more sincere and earnest about this than he ever was for hockey or any of his classes. This is important to him, maybe the most important. Suddenly, she’s fighting down a lump in her throat.

“You’re one of the best teammates I’ve ever had. So like. You know what to do to seal the deal…if you want ‘em, that is.” 

Apparently he can have been offering his room – offering her a chance to live with some of her favorite people in the whole damn world – as though it was a given, a right, a done deal. He holds out his hand for the customary Dibs Shake, but to her horror, Lardo sniffs, and there’s a tear dripping down her cheek that she has to hide in her elbow.

“Shitty…”

The wobble in her voice sets him off, and now they’re both halfway to ugly crying on the roof of the Haus like dumbasses. “Oh no-no-no, dude,” he says, furiously blinking to ward off tears. “If you waterworks, I’ll w-waterworks…”

She launches herself at him with a strangled AGGGHH!! – throwing her arms around him and squeezing as tightly as she can, hoping that her message gets across without actual words.

Shitty squeezes her back, and his words sound a little relieved (did he think she’d say no???) and a lot wet when he manages to speak. “Hugs count too.”

Fuck right they do.

When they finally break apart, Shitty’s beaming at her and she can feel her own smile widening in response.

“I guess I better tell Claire and Lara I’m already set for next year then,” she teases, striving for her normal dry tone.

“Brah, you’re gonna eat a million pies next year.”

“‘Swawesome.”

How did you come up with the idea for your Grass is Greener fic?

I saw the movie first and then watched the show. Ever since I'd wanted to see how the two very different versions of Lloyd would react to each other and started looking for fics about that. The idea really started getting going when I read  lloydskywalkers fic It's Me (Version 2-point-0) on fanfiction.net. In it a pre-March of the Oni Show Lloyd meets post-Movie Lloyd to take down a creative imagining of the Oni. It was just a plot bunny that wouldn't go away after seeing how mature late-seasons Lloyd was when interacting with M!Lloyd, and it got me wondering, 'Hey, what if they met when S!Lloyd was still a kid, and M!Lloyd was the mature one?'

At the time it was more of a story-I-wish-someone-else-would-write than a story I wanted to write myself. But then I read and commented on KayHau's fic My Dad is Bad but Still Family, and she responded in a way that launched a whole discussion about her story and I inadvertently became a beta reader for it (and some other Ninjago fics she wrote too). And while we were talking, I mentioned that plot bunny that had been niggling in my head, and she thought it was a great idea, and the more we talked about it, the more the idea grew and I found myself wanting to write more and more, until I actually did, there-by making Kay Hau my beta reader for it. I have to say, without her feedback, enthusiasm, and ideas, the story would definitely not be as long as it already is, and I'm very grateful for that.

And thus The Grass is Always Greener and all subsequent Ninjago fics of mine were written, and I had tons of fun doing it. I hope I can get back on the wagon someday to continue writing it, but right now I'm a bit burned out on Ninjago.

They lead an arts and crafts workshop on Melemele Island, and sometimes on other islands as well! It's a fairly new thing for them, but they enjoy teaching people the joys of different types of crafts. I feel like Hala suggested it and kinda launched Hau into it to get their leader skills up. Not that Hau can't lead people, but they're still rather uncomfortable and unassertive with that part of Kahunaship.

Anything crafty, but mostly: - Baking & cooking - Drawing, arts and crafts, crochet - Video games - Exercising As for interests: - Pokémon training/battling & raising - They like to loredive for (creepy) games they played - Learning new skills / crafts - Nature
