Hadley hated blind dates. They were, without a doubt, the worst possible thing a so-called-friend could do to a person. As she rushed through getting ready, she continued to curse the coworker who was so insistent on setting her up with the new firefighter. It wasn’t like Hadley hadn’t seen Amelio in passing. She had, and he was cute, but she wasn’t exactly jumping at the bits to have drinks with the guy. That had a lot more to do with her than it did him, of course, but either way, she was dreading this whole thing.
Walking into The Palace, Hadley made her way to the bar and pulled out her phone, sending a quick text to the number she’d been given for Amelio. Maybe she’d get lucky and this would go well. Maybe she’d get even luckier and that wasn’t even his number. She sent a second text to her best friends and then slipped her phone into her purse and looked around. When she spotted Amelio, Hadley lifted her hand in a small wave and flashed him her best ‘I do this all the time, naturally’ grin despite how little she actually did this. “Hi, you’re Amelio, right? I’m Hadley.”

Chesney had been laying on a blanket near the duck pond, a book in hand, when she heard the unmistakable sound of someone in some kind of accident. It was obvious that whoever it was had fallen somehow, and she immediately sat up, scanning the green space around her. When her eyes landed on Amelio, she sighed softly, a smile on her lips. “Hey stranger,” she said with a little wave of her fingers. “Don’t worry, I’ve got the first aid kit handy.” She tucked her bookmark into the book and sat it next to her purse, digging inside of it for the first aid kit. As she made her way over to him, she did a quick scan of the situation, not wanting to miss anything major. It seemed like a fairly minor bang up, but she would keep an eye on it all anyway. Kneeling next to him, Chesney sat the first aid kit on the ground and popped open the lid. “Do you wanna talk about what happened or pretend this is all some kind of crazy mystery? Alien abduction, maybe?”

ellie mae was making her way around the party. she didn’t come here with anyone specific and she was friends with pretty much everyone so it wasn’t hard to find a conversation to insert herself in. she was making her way through the crowd to grab another drink when she took a seat next to amelio. a smile appeared on her face as she saw his fangs as he spoke and she tilted her head to get a better look, “those are nicer than those typical plastic vampire teeth you can buy at the dollar store. let me see those!” she encouraged, leaning toward him slightly. she had a way of being comfortable around just about anybody.

amelio was someone that was somewhat special davis. it wasn’t like he’d fallen in love with him or anything but he was the first guy he’d ever explored his sexuality with. of course, davis still wasn’t really open when it came to that side of himself, mostly because he didn’t want his parents to look at him any differently. either way, he was still cool with amelio and would even say hi when they ran into each other around town. which, was now one of those times. he took a seat across from him at the coffee shop after getting his order and offered him a cool smile. “it’s been a while, huh?” he spoke up. “tell me, amelio. how’re ya doin’? good, i hope.”

“Stay where you can see me, okay? No running off!” The cluster of kids bolted off into the park as Ivy called fruitlessly after them, and she resigned herself to having to track her daughter down in a few hours when it was eventually time to leave. With a bemused huff, she picked a bench and settled herself down, eyes falling on the man at the next bench over as her impulse to chat took over, “I swear one of these days she’s going to come back looking like something out of lord of the flies and I’ll never find out why.” Pausing, Ivy tipped her head, “Wait, have we met? You look...” She snapped her fingers, “You did that thing at the elementary school a couple weeks ago, they brought the fire trucks and an ambulance out to show the kids, right? You were the one explaining the equipment to them.”
#C: Amelio#I couldn't nail down a spot where they'd both be organically so feel free to retcon them to elsewhere if you prefer!

Romeo was probably on his third drink but he felt tipsy already, he was not used to drinking that was for sure so it was a shock to his system. He stood there waiting to use the toilet when he looked at the guy in front of him, “Well you went all out on your costume didn’t you?” He laughed a little, “You’re looking good though. Well done for doing Halloween right unlike me.”

Natalie dressed as the female Sherlock Holmes, she was very much enjoying her first Halloween in Tupelo, although it wasn’t as extravagant as LA but it was still a pretty good sight for her. She was at the bar, she enjoyed going to the Swinging Door because it was a place of comfort since she moved there. As she walked around holding her drink for a moment she came across Amelio dressed as a vampire. She smiled looking over at the guy for a moment, “Well Hi there Amelio, looking pretty great for a vampire. Enjoying the party?”

“Tell me,” she rested her chin onto top of her knuckles as she crossed a leg over the other, “how crazy is it that I am thinking about adopting a dog?” She let out a soft laugh, knowing the lead up was sounding far more serious than the notion of adopting a dog. “I’m serious,” she let her hand fall from under her chin as she sat back at the bar, “He’s this ratty lookin’ white dog, cute as a button,” Avery gushed, “I just don’t, well, I don’t know, I haven’t had a dog in so long but he’s been at the shelter for at least a year now and it’s a miracle I haven’t adopted all the pups in that place.”

“Okay, three weeks into Tupelo, how are we feeling about all things?” Jo asked, her chin falling into the palm of her hand as she turned to look at Amelio. She had run into him a few weeks ago when she had practically flown off her skateboard in front of the fire station. That was a moment in her life she would never forget. Only because she had been absolutely mortified that she didn’t see the giant cracked sidewalk. Thankfully, he had been more kind hearted than most ever would have been, “Tell me all your favorite and least favorite things.”

LOCATION: Madison Fire Station WITH: @latinxfirefighter
She’d been walking past the fire station when she had realised it had been a while since she had seen Ty, having not bumped into the man since her return to town. With only a few days before she started her job left, she figured she’d take advantage of free days and bug him for a little while before grabbing lunch. Stepping into the firehouse she glanced around and locked eyes with someone she didn’t know. “Uh hey, is Ty around?”

There were few things in Matt’s life that were uncertain these days. Having become the caregiver to two little girls recently, things were on a schedule and everything needed to be stable. They had enough trauma in their lives they didn’t need Matt screwing them up any further. He sighed as he stood in front of the cereal choices and looked them over, feeling overwhelmed since all he ever ate was frosted flakes. “Hey uh, question for you man.” Matt glanced over at the other man in the cereal aisle before pointing up at the sugary kids choices. “Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Coco Puffs? What do you think kids like more?” He asked the question and waited a moment for the response before clearing his throat. “Or are those uh, both bad choices?”
