The Women of Interesante

Last week two of the women working at Interesante were featured in important digital media. Rebecca Padnos Altamirano our founder was featured by Giovanni Rodríguez, a recognized business advisor who writes for Forbes. In his article "Google Bets Big On Hispanics And Women" Rodríguez highlighted Rebecca as an example of women in technology.
Carolina Altamirano, one of our Marketing leaders and community manager was featured by #LatinaGeeks as well. Latina Geeks is a committed startup with the mission to empower Latinas in tech and entrepreneurship. Carolina was featured as a Latina "Geeky for biology." In that article, they shared an interview about her geeky passions and background.
But, behind the scenes, there is more women power in Interesante, and we would like to feature all of them in this blogpost
Antonella Iselli (Lead of Design, Buenos Aires, AR).- Antonella is a creative designer, with much experience in UX and she is interested in new design processes such as Agile and Lean Design. In her spare time, she loves to read and to experiment with embroidery, origami and kokedamas. She studied Visual & Multimedia Arts at IUNA (Instituto Universitario Nacional del Arte). For the past four years she has been teaching "expressive media" to Graphic Design students at University of Buenos Aires. She has worked in Odiseo Agency based in Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, and before that in the mass-media group "La Nación." At interesante, she is our creative soul, the one that gives the final touch to our designs to make everything look perfect.
Magali López Kepcija (iOS Design, Buenos Aires, AR).- Magalí, currently running her own business at Madein Factory was our iOS Designer and the first woman to get involved in the Design Department at Interesante´s early stage. She took the iPhone app design as her personal project and thanks to her we will soon release a new version of the Interesante app with a clean and refined design and many UX and UI features.
Soledad Peñaloza (Marketing and QA testing, Río Cuarto, AR).- Soledad "Sol" is a natural and creative entrepreneur. She studied fashion and interior design and has always run her own business by producing, marketing, sharing and selling her creations in town and on-line. Her interests range from fashion accesories, furniture design to gardening equipment design. She still has her projects and she teaches Art at a primary school in her town. At Interesante, she started as an intern, curating the design, architecture, and fashion categories in our platform because of her background in design, and, of course, good taste. Later, her entrepreneur soul took her to manage the contacts with partners and power users. Besides, due to her user experience, and ability to communicate with our programmers, now she is also the one that does most of the testing of our new features in web and mobile.
Mariana Soto (Marketing, Mar del Plata, AR).- Mariana, mother of a 4-year-old, is a communicator, animal rights activist and entrepreneur. She volunteers for local animal rescue organizations and takes care of abused animals until fully recovered. Her dream is to have her own rescue animal center. She got involved in digital media seven year ago when she managed the contents and moderated forums in a large spanish-speaking pet care website. Along with this job she was also working freelance, offering services as advisor in website creation, improvement of corporative websites and as leader of workshops for the better use of digital communication to corporate employees. She started working for Interesante at a very early stage. Mariana, alone, was the Interesante marketing team for a while. She took care of content curation, contacts with partners, power users and media, preparation of emails and so on. Now, she takes care of emailing and keeping track of the numbers of our platform.
Daisy Tellez Franco (Marketing, México City, MX).- Daisy is a young journalist and social communicator who recently graduated from UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). She enjoys good music, concerts and festivals and knows how to communicate about entertainment. At Interesante, she is an intern that works from the CARSO co-working facility in México City. She has been very helpful to keep up-to-date on our communications with Mexican media and partners, and to keep track of the numbers of our social networking.
We would like to thank each and everyone of them for being part of Interesante. We would also like to recognize the invaluable help of former female interns and workers Carolina Gamba, Valeria Cosia, Georgina López Kepcija, Natalia Blache, Luciana Arancedo, as well as to our advisors and ambassadors: Misla Barco, Vanessa Barco and Laura Gómez.
