One Hundred and Forty Eight.

Life lessons for today: You stick around long enough and you get what you want. Remember that.

For me, in terms of SL, this means STYLE I LOVE! Honestly, I’ve dressed every-which-way in SL...because why not? Why not experiment when you have the means to? Life’s about it!

What I started off here in SL as was a goth. With pale white-blue skin, dark eye makeup and black hair. In my heart, this look is really what I consider “me.” Not because I’m fully dark, haha! 

But I do believe in embracing one’s shadow self. I think for so long I kind of wanted to stay on the lighter side of things exclusively, but honestly that’s not good or true. Embrace the darkness! It doesn’t mean evil or nefarious ways...it means badassery, solitude, the night sky, magic, self-discovery, the unknown!

One person who’s really encouraged me in this way, by example never by preaching is my BFF here, December Larkham. She owns the amazing, dark/shadow self store, The Crone. I’m really inspired by these “love bites” and heart scarification pieces she’s made for an upcoming event exclusive at The Dark Fair (10/14-11/4)! Sometimes you wear your feelings on the outside, you know?

I’m reminded of a quote I’ve had on my profile since the beginning of time (one that’s often been copied from my profile! Yes, I am the original, snoopy love): A vanilla cupcake with a dark chocolate heart. <3 I won’t always dress high fashion or chic, because that can be so one-dimensional. I won’t always want to look cute, but sometimes I do. I’ll sometimes wanna have a fantasy or mythical/magical vibe (most always, actually). And sometimes I’m sentimental, vintage, retro, or even grandma-inspired! One thing is for sure, although I love style and it is a main inspiration in SL (after friends and socializing), do not just read the cover of my book and put it back on the shelf. There’s a lot more to me than the pixels I wear!

Always be yourself, and when you can’t, at least always be a fabulous badass...which is what you really are, anyway. <3
