Anyone ready for a wild theory of VLD? 👀😂
First of all— I’m a nosey individual, I’m just trying to figure out reanimations here for my own personal fun, plus I’m sharing if anyone wants to see as well 😆 having said so— VLD WAS THE SHIT! Love it for all it was and wasn’t!
Now then—
This is going to be about the “Black Paladins” s6-E5 👀 I’m just picking out parts here because apparently— s4-s8 was scrambled to keep Shiro in the show, at least that’s what I randomly hear in the podcasts and interviews. SO!
Let’s randomly assume— instead of Keith running after Shiro, it was suppose to be Lance going after Keith. (The build up of Keith of s1-3 kinda gives me this idea)
Try re-watch the episode and imagine the scenes with Keith and Shiro, and replace that to Lance and Keith. As for the other scenes with Lance back at the castle, imagine he’s not physically there (as if he and shiro/Keith was last minute animated to fit there).
As for the plot— if it was about Lance and Keith— Lance is the one closest to Keith aka “right handed man”. So Lance could’ve felt he was responsible to approach “corrupted Keith”. So pay attention to Keith’s emotional expressions (I think it worked out because oddly enough Keith was only open with Shiro anyway) and replace it with Lance’s face 😆
The way the fight plays out, let’s say instead of Shiro’s arm cut off (or Keith in this sense) imagine it as Keith getting the scar from Lance fighting back with the Altean sword.
Bonus thought! Shiro’s sword is oddly similar to Keith’s blade from the bayard 👀
Now— as the scene comes to Shiro blasting away at the base— IMAGINE Keith’s first appearance of his fricken huge (mega-man like) blaster for the first time. Ooh~
So in the imagination scenario: Lance is holding onto Keith, there’s even flashbacks of Keith and Lance back at the Garrison 🤔 Lance makes this made up promise of not giving up on Keith~~~~
So maybe in the next ep where Keith is talking to Shiro in the astral plane— Lance is bringing them back to the castle meanwhile. BUT that’s how far my theory got 🤔 an only added thought to this however, is when Keith was supposed “to have white hair” in the end of s6. Instead of Shiro “coming back”, Lance was distraught he couldn’t do anything to save him or that he may have failed so Allura brought him out of the Astral Plane in the Red Lion— POSSIBLY.
But that’s a big WHAT IF THEORY. 😆 it’s like trying to put reanimations/deleted scenes/canon scenes/plots together like it’s a puzzle piece and yes 👀 this is where my mind wonders sometimes—
If anyone has an interesting theory to this— do tell 😶 if not and you wanna throw some “move on— leave it alone” comments— id say you’ve taken my fun time too seriously but I hope some enjoyed my wild theory lol oh dear~

Toxin (Shance angst)
Summary: Shangst where Shrio is holding his poisoned lover, Lance.
A/N: @izanagisbitch requested this over a year ago and I completely misunderstood it and wrote something totally different lol (it's quite a few prompts back. Title: Toxic Love). I was rereading some of my old fics and remembered it. So I wrote what they actually asked for 😂 Again, so so sorry!
Trigger warning: posion, sickness, death mention, super sad feelings
~ ~ ~
The leaves rustled loudly overhead. The wind whipped the branches every which way. Animals all around were scattering, fleeing to their homes.
A storm was approaching.
Shiro didn't notice any of this.
His only focus was Lance's struggling breath.
"Are you sure you're okay?" he asked for the fourth time. Lance rolled his eyes, but Shiro noticed a bead of sweat roll down his forehead.
"Takashi, you worry too much. I'm alright. It's just a- a stomach ache or something" he assured his worried boyfriend. Shiro held up his hands in defeat, but he wasn't totally convinced.
Shiro and Lance had been on a stroll through a nearby village that evening, seeing as how they would be stuck here for a while. They had arrived for a routine checkup on the planet which had recently joined the alliance, but when they had tried to leave, their ship mysteriously broke down. Coran informed them that it could potentially be a few weeks before he could identify the problem and fix it, so they should make themselves comfortable here.
The walk had started out nice. The weather was pleasant. The villagers were more than welcoming. One had even brought them tea to drink on their walk.
But a few minutes after leaving the village on the small dirt path through the woods, Shiro noticed Lance's breath becoming labored. At first he laughed it off, assuming it was from the large meal they had had, but the longer they were out, the harder it was to deny that something was actually very wrong.
They continued to wander down the path that led from the village through the lush forest that surrounded the civilization. Everything was so pretty. It would've been a perfect night if it hadn't been for Lance's obvious discomfort.
"How long do you think we'll be here?" Lance asked, trying to distract himself, and Shiro, from his pain.
"I'm not sure. Coran hasn't figured out what's wrong with the ship yet" Shiro said. Lance smiled broadly as he closed the gap between their hands. He intertwined their fingers and tugged Shiro closer to his side.
"Maybe we'll be here for years" He said. Shiro frowned at the happiness in Lance's voice.
"That wouldn't be good" he murmured in confusion.
"Oh come on, it would be so fun! We could build a house!"
"Build a- Lance you don't know the difference between a phillips screwdriver and a flathead!" Lance, completely undeterred by this, continued.
"Of course we would have to have a front porch with a swing. And a nice sized backyard where we can plant a garden. I'd like to have two bathrooms, but we could make do with just one" He said to himself. Shrio stared at him in bewilderment.
"Wh-" Lance pressed a finger to Shiro's lips.
"Shh. We're just pretending babe. We're not really going to build a house" he whispered, as if it was a secret. Shiro's eyes softened in realization and he chuckled.
"Oh. Well... then I guess we'd need a decent sized kitchen with an island so I can cook you dinner" he pressed a flirtatious kiss to Lance's knuckles. Lance giggled but cut off in a sudden coughing fit.
The wind picked up around them as they paused for Lance to catch his breath.
"Okay, I think it's time we head back" Shiro said nervously. "You might be getting sick" Lance waved him off, though in his current state, doubled over and hacking up a lung, it wasn't very reassuring.
"I'm..." he coughed sharply. "F- fine" Shiro let go of Lance's hand and shielded his eyes as he looked around them, unsure of which way they had come.
When did they wander off the path?
"Let's- Let's head back the way we came" Shiro suggested. Lance nodded, groping around for Shiro's hand. He was too embarrassed to admit that his vision was blurring.
The two turned around and began their trek back toward the village. It was more difficult than they had anticipated, because of the weather.
Somehow neither of them had noticed how dark it had gotten during their walk. Angry looking dark clouds were looming overhead, threatening to break open and pour down on them.
Shiro's heart rate spiked as he continued to tug Lance along what he thought was the path. Everything around them looked the same. They were lost.
"Shiro..." Lance croaked. His began to stumble along, his head lolling lower and lower with every stop.
Shiro glanced over and thought to himself, "His skin is white as a sheet..." Before either of them could mutter another word, Lance collapsed.
~
The next thing Lance new he was laying on his side with his head in Shiro's lap. They had moved underneath a tree to shield them from the downpour that had started at some point.
"Wha-" Lance rasped. Shiro let out a loud gasping sigh.
"Lance! Shh... don't try to talk. Just relax. You collapsed" Lance was suddenly aware that his entire body was shaking uncontrollably. He was both too hot and too cold at the same time.
"What... happening?" Shiro has one hand in Lance's hair, and the other was gripping his hand.
"I- I don't know" There was a clap of thunder overhead. "We need to get back to the castle but..." He trailed off, staring up at the scene around them. The storm was so strong that the forrest has seemingly come to life. Trees swaying, limbs falling, debris flying through the air. "I think we'll have to wait out the storm" Despite being fairly well covered, Lance felt large drops of water splashing his exposed skin. "It's all going to be okay."
Lance listened as Shiro called to the others on his communicator. He couldn't make sense of what they were saying. All he knew was that Allura voice was frantic and she kept repeating several words like "poisoned" and "trap." The world continued to flicker in and out of focus for several minutes before Lance found the strength to speak.
"Shiro" Lance mumbled. His voice was barely audible over the howl of the wind. "Shrio, don't let go of me" he pleaded. He didn't want to frighten Shiro, but moments ago he became aware that he couldn't feel any part of his body.
Shiro searches Lance's eyes for the source of his pain, but came up empty. He desperately wanted to fix this, but he had no idea how.
"I'm here, Lance. I'm here. And I'm not letting you go. I'll get you back to the castle. You're going to be okay. Look, I think the weather is clearing up" he said, trying to stay positive. Lance knew it was a lie.
"I love you" Lance said, teary eyed. "Shiro, I love you"
"I- I love you, too" Shiro said through tears. "You're going to be okay. Everything's going to be okay" Shrio searched Lance's face as he tried to think of something to say, something to make this moment a little less scary. He didn't know what was going to happen next, but he was worried that this might be... That this might be the last moments he and Lance had together.
"Hey, we- we should get a dog" Shiro said, wiping the tears out of his eyes. Lance frowned for a moment, and then a faint smile ghosted his face.
"As long as it's a big one. And she'll... need a friend" he said hoarsely. He weakly lifted his hand to reach for Shiro's face, but he didn't have the strength. Shiro saw this and lifted Lance hand for him. He felt Lance's thin fingers brush against the stubble on his cheek.
"We can build a dog house for them" Shiro continued. "And- and we'll paint the whole house blue. The brightest blue. The neighbors will hate us" Lance made a noise that almost sounded like a laugh.
"We'll be happy" his voice was barely audible. He couldn't keep his eyes open anymore.
"Yeah, baby" Shiro said softly. "We'll be happy. Forever. Happily ever after" They both fell silent.
Lance's breaths grew shorter, the pauses between grew longer. His lips fell open as he let out small pained noises. He was in complete agony. The storm continued on around them, though it had let up a bit. Shiro considered making a run for it, but he knew that it was pointless. Lance would never make it. And any movement would cause even more pain for Lance.
It was the hardest decision Shiro ever had to make.
Through the deafening sounds of the rain, Lance could hear Shiro singing softly in his ear.
~
When the others finally found them, the storm had long passed. The morning light bathed the spot that Shiro and Lance were huddled. Allura sprinted to them with a questioning face.
Shiro cranes his neck to look at her. His face had smears of dirt and tracks of tears. He looked beyond exhausted.
"Shiro...?"Allura said questioningly. Shiro smiled weakly, more tears dripping down his nose, falling onto the boy clutched in his arms. He shook his head, his face breaking.
"He's gone"

Happy Birth-week! Maybe the prompt motorcycles/hovercycles like a race or a getaway scene? I’ll leave the pairing up to you and the setting. :) (Lol at first I thought you were asking for short stories for your birthday and I was like “sure!” XD)
Title: The Family Business
Pairing: Gen
Summary: The Voltron Paladins - a team of thieves, smugglers, and outlaws - are hunted by cartels, the FBI, and Shiro's father. Yeah, life isn't easy, but the team has each other. And that's all that matters.
---
Shiro stepped on the clutch and shifted, sending his Dodge Charger—which he affectionally called the Black Lion—soaring through the almost empty streets of Daibazaal.
“You know this is your fault,” he said. A quick glance in the rearview mirror showed two black sedans chasing them. “You said we should take all the triggers.”
In the passenger seat, Allura typed furiously on her tablet. Dressed in a tight white and pink cold-shoulder top that cut just below her tighter-than-tight jeans, she looked more like a pop star than a high-profile thief. Her curly ponytail hit Shiro in the face when she shifted in her seat to look behind them.
“So then I am to assume you would have left the nuclear warhead triggers in the hands of not-quite-professional businessmen.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“No, you’re saying that you would have left them in the hands of nefarious criminals.”
“As opposed to non-nefarious criminals?”
Allura laughed. “Well, we aren’t exactly law-bidding citizens.”
The car wheels squealed when Shiro eased up on the accelerator, cut the wheel, and then tore down the nearest alleyway. The shadows of night wouldn’t conceal their taillights, and when the Black Lion rocketed onto the street, the sedans still clung to his bumper.
“I’m just saying that stealing a trunk-load of military grade explosives by having Lance and Keith start a fight in the middle of black-market weapons depot might not have been the best course of action.”
“Then what would have been the best course of action? Trying to steal the triggers after Zarkon used them to start World War III?”
“Of course not. I’m just saying—”
“And you know Keith and Lance weren’t acting. Lance actually did take Red for a ride the other day and put a scratch in her chassis.”
Shiro let out a heavy sigh. “Can’t you just let me live in ignorance?”
Allura laughed and leaned over to press a kiss to Shiro’s cheek. “At least they worked it out of their—Quiznak.” Allura’s tablet let out a warning beep. “Red Paladin, Blue Paladin, we’re going to need your special brand of street cleaning.”
As the Black Lion passed a main thoroughfare, two motorcycles roared to life—a red Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R and a blue Yamaha YZF R1. The two racers wore protective jackets and helmets that matched their bikes, though the red racer’s jacket had black and yellow accents, while the blue racer’s uniform boasted red and yellow stripes. The motorcycles tore down the straightaway toward two more sedans that suddenly screeched to a halt in the middle of the street, blocking their path.
Shiro narrowed his eyes. “Does the Blue Lion have a red chassis now?”
“Yes! Keith defiled my baby!” Lance bemoaned across the team’s channel.
Keith huffed, and the Red Lion swerved to evade gunfire. “Stop whining and help me take these assholes out.”
“‘Stop whining.’” The Blue Lion hopped the sidewalk and used the streetlights as cover. “Well, if you hadn’t hurt my precious girl—”
“Your precious girl just got a new coat, something you hadn’t even bothered to—”
“Guys!” Shiro yelled, but Lance was already shifting gears. “Chill, Shiro. We’ve got this.”
Sure enough, Keith and Lance came to the middle of the street and wove between the car blockade. Two subsequent explosions sent the cars rocketing into the sky. The Black Lion poured it on then and zipped underneath the elevated cars, which eventually landed upon the chaser sedans.
“Good job, you two!” Shiro praised. “Now get to the rendezvous point ASAP and lock it down.”
“Yes, sir!” Keith’s crisp voice sounded over the connection, followed by Lance’s mocking tone once more. The twin motorcycles zoomed ahead and disappeared in the labyrinth of city streets.
Shiro could practically feel Allura’s penetrative stare give way to a self-assured smirk. “They make a good team.”
“As long as they don’t kill each other.”
“Oh, give them a bit more credit, Allura.” He waited a beat. “Keith would make it quick.”
“If Lance didn’t talk him to death first—and if that cartel doesn’t catch us.” Allura tapped on her tablet. “Green Lion, Yellow Lion, status report.”
Instead of a voice confirmation, a loud explosion echoed through the connection. Allura shot up in her seat. “Pidge! Hunk!”
A few loud hacks, followed by fits of coughing, and Pidge sucked in a deep breath. “I said not to denotate until we were a safe distance away!”
Shiro heaved a relieved sigh and heard Allura do the same.
“Oooh. I thought you said, ‘Let’s go for crème brulee,’” Hunk said between coughs.
Shiro could imagine Pidge throwing up her arms. “That doesn’t even make sense.”
“Hunk, Pidge, report,” Allura repeated, shaking her head. Shiro stepped on the gas for one final burst of speed, and the Black Lion entered the private airport.
“The facilities have been destroyed, Allura,” Hunk replied. “The rest is up to you and Shiro.”
So it was. Once Shiro spotted the Red and Blue Lions outside of a private hanger, he directed the Black Lion inside the massive area—devoid of any planes—and threw the car into park. Allura tossed him a nervous grin, which he returned, and they exited the car.
Only Keith and Lance occupied the hanger. No shelves, no airplane, no grease. Off to the side, a simple garage door lifted with eerie screeches that echoed through the empty space. Once it stopped, a rather tall man with slicked back hair, sunken eyes, and a thick chin entered the hanger between Lance and Keith. In a black suit with a purple tie, he looked like a wayward stockbroker, strides long, haughty, and loud. His eyes narrowed as he stopped before Shiro and Allura, arms spreading in a regal greeting.
“Ms. Altea. As always, a pleasure.”
“I assure you it most certainly is not,” Allura replied, manicured fingers clicking on her tablet.
Zarkon turned to Shiro without missing a beat. “Shiro, I appreciate you joining us.”
“We do agree there,” Allura snapped. “It is the only way you will survive, Zarkon.”
“Ironic, is it not? To think I am standing here with my former partner’s daughter who has taken my son as her own partner, despite knowing the history between our families.”
“Shiro isn’t a two-timing, egotistical psychopath like you,” Lance spat.
“But somehow he’s still entered the family business,” Zarkon retorted with an all-too-delighted grin.
Rather than replying, Shiro hit the car remote and popped the trunk. He lifted the back to reveal the triggers. “Here’s what you wanted from the Olkari Cartel, right?”
An amused, almost proud grin crossed his features. “I will need to inspect the merchandise.”
“Yeah, about that.” He slammed shut the trunk. “You’re not getting anywhere near these devices.”
Zarkon’s gaze was anything but tolerant. “We already agreed upon terms.”
“Yes, we did, but now I’m changing them. Ms. Altea, would you like to do the honors?”
“Thank you, Mr. Shirogane.” Allura stepped forward and handed her tablet to a suspicious-looking Zarkon. “That is a live feed from Langley, the ‘Other Matters’ subdivision, which you run.” She paused. “Ran. Our operatives Yellow Paladin and Green Paladin took care of your stronghold. Call it a retirement gift.”
“I thought we were calling it a ‘going away’ present,” Keith asked, arms crossed across his chest.
Lance giggled.
Keith rolled his eyes. “What?”
“You cannot get rid of me that easy,’” Zarkon growled. “No judge or jury in the world will convict me, not with my record. And no one will believe you—my son who became an international smuggler and his partner, the daughter of my former partner who died under investigation.”
“Yellow and Green transferred all your dark files to the Federal Bureau of Investigation before making the big kaboom,” Lance laughed. “Seriously, man? We have everything and we know everything.”
Zarkon’s thick fingers curled about the tablet. “You have to know this is futile. You can sell those triggers you stole to another foreign power. You can leave the country, hide in some remote island, and look over your shoulder for the rest of your life, but I will still find you. And I will end you.” He stared directly at Allura with demonic glee. “Just like I did your father.”
Allura didn’t even flinch. “Good luck doing that from a prison cell at Leavenworth.”
“FBI!” a booming voice echoed through the hanger. “On the ground now!”
A SWAT team stormed the front opening while a tall blond man came in from the back. He wore in a tight suit with a purple tie, dark slacks and a FBI jacket. Four female agents, all wearing similar garb to the lead agent, covered him from the entryway.
“I said on the floor, now!” the agent yelled at Zarkon.
Keith went down first, having gone through a similar situation before. Lance followed and muttered about this not being the greatest plan after all. Zarkon tried to rebuke the orders, but the familiar FBI agent—Lotor, Shiro noticed—wouldn’t have it.
Eventually, Zarkon met Shiro’s gaze once they were both handcuffed and lying face flat against the cold concrete.
“This isn’t over,” he threatened.
“Yes, it is,” Shiro insisted. “It was over the moment you decided your greed was more important than family.”
---
Shiro didn’t know how long he’d been waiting in the interrogation room, though he figured he would be the last one the FBI questioned. Pidge would be the first as the youngest, followed the soft-hearted Hunk, the smooth-talking Lance, the sharp-edged Keith, and then the regal Allura, if Lotor wasn’t intimidated. Then, and only then, would Lotor pay a visit to Shiro.
When he finally did, he wore a tired but true grin. “Special Agent Shirogane. I told you to get a team you could trust to have your back when I couldn’t be there. This was not what I had in mind.”
Shiro’s handcuffs jingled as he sat back in his seat. “You don’t like my choice of team members, Special Agent Sincline?”
Lotor sighed dramatically and dropped his tablet to the table, tapping the edge and bringing up five pictures. “An X Games Motor X gold medalist who was raised by smugglers and the silver medalist with whom he does not get along. At all. A red hat hacker who isn’t even old enough to graduate high school. A chef turned motocross mechanic. Oh, and the daughter of my father’s former CIA partner, whom he killed. That’s who you decided you could trust?”
Shiro tossed Lotor a teasing smile. “Jealous?”
“Of course,” Lotor replied, crossing his arms. “We’ve had each other’s backs since forever.”
“Since we were twelve.”
“Just because we weren’t together since diapers doesn’t change the fact that we grew up together. We went to Quantico together. And now I only get to see you for clandestine meetings and the occasional coffee.”
“But it’s good coffee.”
“You’re my brother, Shiro. I’m supposed to protect you.”
Shiro knocked his shoulder against Lotor’s knee. “And you do. You handle the bureau. I handle the criminals. If I didn’t trust you with everything, this couldn’t work.”
“Do you trust them with everything?” Lotor motioned toward the blackened two-way mirror. “Not one of them said anything. Just asked for water—or in one case, iced tea. Sweetened with lemon.”
“Lance…is high maintenance,” Shiro laughed, “but in the best way.”
Lotor huffed. “He asked for it to be sent to Pidge.”
“Of course, he did.”
“And Hunk asked me to make sure Lance was given appropriate bathroom breaks, and Keith asked if Lance was gagged and then asked if he could be.”
“Sounds about right.”
“Allura, however, asked me for pictures from our teenage years.”
Shiro blinked. “…I’m not sure how I feel about that.”
“But they all asked about you.” Lotor clasped Shiro on the shoulder, firm and supportive. Lotor truly was his foundation, unwavering and firm. “I’m glad for you, Shiro. You deserve to have a family again.”
Shiro undid his handcuffs with a trick Keith taught him and reached up to cover Lotor’s hand. “I miss you, too, brother.”
“Hm.” Lotor held him a second longer than necessary, almost as if refusing to let Shiro go, but he eventually relented. A serious countenance overtook his face, and Shiro sat up straighter in response. Back to business.
“I’ve spoken with the higher-ups,” Lotor explained. “I’ll be in contact when Father goes to trial. You and your team might need to come in to testify, but right now, I suggest you find some place to lie low. Maybe a Caribbean island. A nice seaside Mexican resort. Disneyland. Stay off the radar and away from anyone Father might have worked with. Be safe.”
Shiro blinked. “That’s it?”
“That’s it. Unless you’re ready to come in from the cold.” Before Shiro could debate that question, let alone respond, Lotor flipped a switch. The two-way mirror went from black to transparent, revealing Shiro’s team on the other side. While four of his team members sat around a small table—Hunk was teaching Keith to pay some card game while Allura braided the longer strands of Pidge’s hair—Lance held a hand-drawn sign, scribbled on a yellow notepad, against the mirror.
Can we please have our Special Agent Shirogane back now?
Shiro thumbed toward the mirror. “Does he know I’m on the other side of this wall?”
Lotor’s eyes were narrowed; a look of confusion overtook his face. “How…did he get a marker and paper? That’s a monitored room. No one’s gone in there.”
Shiro simply shrugged. If his team was anything, it was resourceful.
Lotor crossed his arms and stared into the room, eyes resting upon the one person sitting on the right side of the table, talking to Hunk and Keith.
“Allura Altea. She’s…good to you?”
Shiro eyed Lotor. “Yeah. She’s my best friend. I trust her with my life.”
“But do you trust her with a picture of your teenage years?”
“I certainly can’t trust you.”
“That hurts, Brother.”
“You should have thought that before you showed Allura my awkward teenage years.”
Lotor rolled his eyes. “Don’t be so dramatic. It’s not like I showed her the pictures from comic con.”
---
“So…that’s it?” Hunk asked, watching as the black, non-descript FBI vans drove away. “We help to take down a dirty counterintelligence agent—”
“And blow up part of the CIA’s own headquarters,” Keith added.
“Only the bad part,” Pidge pointed out. “We left the rest still standing.”
“Yes, but that means we must lie low for a bit.” Allura walked toward a private jet on the tarmac. “Coran has been scouting new jobs for us and believes he’s found an interesting one. Shiro, how would you feel about visiting your childhood home, if you catch my drift?”
Shiro smiled. “Tokyo’s nice this time of year.”
“Smashing!” Coran greeted, lowering the stairs to the private plane. “Come along, Paladins! I’ve stocked the plane with all your favorite snacks along with the latest episodes of Riverdale and Legends of Tomorrow.”
Lance raced up the stairs. “Score! Dibs on the couch!”
“No!” Hunk whined. “You can’t call dibs until you’re on the stairs! Everyone knows that.”
Pidge raced after them while Keith turned to Shiro. “I’ll save you a seat and a pack of gummi bears.”
“Thanks, Keith.” Shiro stopped Allura at the end of the stairs, taking her hand in his. “Hey. If you ever need to talk about anything, I’m here. You know that.”
Allura’s eyes trembled as they stared into Shiro’s. Tightening her grip, she looked away. “Thank you, Shiro. I know this mission was not easy for you, either. It must have been difficult arresting your father.”
“Yeah, well. Lotor technically arrested him, and we’ve been preparing for this day for a long time.”
“As have I, but…we’re never really ready for it, are we?”
Shiro’s heart ached, especially when he remembered the look of disdain Zarkon sent him as Lotor led him to the FBI van. However, it was nothing compared to what Allura must have felt when she received the call about her father.
“No, I guess we aren’t.”
Allura hummed. “It won’t get better. I’m not sure there is a better, but Zarkon will finally stand trial for his crimes. For that, I am grateful.”
“Me, too.” Shiro held up his phone with a picture of Allura with braces and short hair. “I’m also grateful for my new wallpaper.”
“Takashi Shirogane!” Allura’s hand shot out toward his phone, but Shiro managed to duck and head up the stairs. “Get back here! You’re going to tell me who got you that picture.”
“I’ll never give up my source.”
She caught up with him just inside the plane and playfully knocked him against the wall. “Hunk, Pidge, or your brother? It was your brother, wasn’t it?”
“It was actually Coran. He showed it to me the first time we met, along with every other baby picture he has of you.”
“Of course, he did. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have an uncle to kill – I mean, fill in with our latest job.”
Shiro smiled, knocking her on the shoulder, and then headed to take inventory. Pidge and Lance took up the long couch, already halfway through the snacks, while Hunk sat in a reclining chair just to right next to them, his lap full of delicious treats. Keith lounged upon a loveseat and left a spot open for Shiro, while the seat next to it remained empty for Allura. She’d join them in a few.
As they took the skies, Shiro wondered not for the first time why Zarkon and Honerva took him in and taught him right from wrong, just to pervert those morals themselves. But he dismissed the thought quickly as he threw an arm about Keith and pulled him close. While he would forever regret the cycle of events that brought him to the world of drag racing and smuggling, he would forever cherish the family he found there –
Shiro’s phone vibrated with a message from Lotor.
Forgive me.
The cockpit’s door swung open to reveal Allura, a bright smile upon her face, her cellphone in her hand. “You cosplayed at comic con!”
– most days.
The End
---
Thanks for the prompt and birthday wishes!

The Smell of Juniberries
(A Klance Commission for @aquacanis).
Under a cut for length, set about two years post season 8. Yeeeee.
~~
Juniberries smelled like how cranberries tasted – tart, pungent, with hints of sweetness that paired well with almost any other smell they came into contact with. They were wonderful for bouquets, if one knew what they were doing, and after nearly two years of working with them, Lance was very confident in his ability to make floral arrangements.
“You just about done here? I need help with the sound equipment,” Pidge piped from his shoulder.
Lance let his hands fall from the flowers, studying them with a critical gaze for one last moment before twisting to the gremlin at his side. She’d shot up nearly four inches since the end of the war, perfect arm rest height, and Lance used this to his advantage now, leaning on her shoulder. “Can’t get Hunk to do it?”
Pidge rolled her eyes, glasses reflecting the early afternoon light of the open-aired pavilion as she nodded over to Hunk and Shay. “They’re working on lighting and the dessert table. Ask me, they’re just flirting incessantly.”
Lance smothered his grin and nodded, letting a chuckle slip loose. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll be over in a minute, Pidgeon. I’ve got two pieces left.”
She gave him a two fingered salute and then walked back to the DJ booth, adjusting her suit as she moved. Lance took the second of reprieve to straighten out his own suit, a dark jacket over a soft, baby blue button down with a pink bowtie. His eyes perused the pavilion, lips quirking at the sight of Hunk and Shay laughing, at Coran and Iverson (THAT had been a surprise, but was admittedly adorable) bickering on how to hang the black and white streamers across the room.
“Need some help?”
“Quiznak!” Lance hissed, nearly elbowing Keith in the throat as he whipped around. “Don’t do that to a guy, Kogane!”
Keith’s smile was genuine, a hint of mirth in his eyes. “Sorry,” he said, though he didn’t sound it.
Lance huffed a breath and attempted to compose himself while simultaneously giving Keith a once over. He was the best man, dark suit jacket and maroon colored button down. The bow tie at his neck was pink, like Lance’s, though a different shade, more suited to match the color of his shirt. His pants were form fitting, flaring just slightly at the shoes, and Lance caught himself staring just a little too long at his thighs. He shot his eyes back up, but Keith hadn’t seemed to notice. “You good?”
Keith pulled his gaze back from where he’d been studying the room. “Yeah. Yeah, just can’t…can’t quite wrap my head around it.”
Lance nudged into him gently, smiling in the hopes of easing his nerves. “Hey. He’s basically your brother. It makes sense you’re nervous.”
Keith snorted, a small sound, but one that sent Lance back years. “I shouldn’t be. Obviously he can handle himself, and Curtis is amazing. It’s just…I spent so long worrying about him and trying to…I don’t know.”
His brows were furrowed now, and Lance let him sit for a moment in silence. Took the time to collect his own thoughts.
For two years, he’d been working on the family farm. Integrating juniberries into Earth’s atmosphere had been shockingly easy, though it wasn’t that much of a surprise, given how similar the atmosphere of Altea was to Earth. Since the war, they had been the most coveted type of flower, worth hundreds, and Lance was determined to make sure people knew about them, their history, about the woman who had made their existence once again possible.
Lance pressed his lips together and glanced around.
She was here, in subtle ways. The pink of the bow ties, at Shiro’s insistence. The juniberries in everyone’s lapels. The scattered pictures on the tables, dozens featuring goofy selfies and group photos that mostly Lance and Pidge had forced everyone into. He was glad they had done it, now.
She was there in the way Coran’s gaze lingered too long on the juniberries, in the way Iverson’s hand slipped over his shoulder and squeezed, reassuring. In the way Pidge paused at the DJ booth, eyes shut, fingers clamped around the headphones over her ears, murmuring words in Altean rather than English. The way Hunk’s fingers shook over the pastries on the table, juniberry shaped and infused cookies and cupcakes, Shay’s hands quelling the trembling.
She was there when Lance turned, to reassure Keith, the halo of light that circled his body as he looked back to Lance, a crooked, anxious smile on his face.
He knew that she would tell him to go for it. That she’d want him to be happy. It scared him to the depths of the oceans, but he knew she’d encourage it. This feeling he’d had, for far too long.
“Lance?”
He shook his head, shoving his hands in his pockets to keep him from doing something stupid. “Yeah, sorry?”
Keith’s head tilted. His hair was pulled back in a ponytail, wisps of escaped pieces dusting his forehead. “Are you okay?”
Lance countered it. “Are you?”
Keith’s lips pressed into a line, thin, looked away. “I…”
Curtis’ mother came flying into the room from the adjacent church, clapping her hands. “Chop chop everyone, let’s go! Five minutes until we need to be in places!”
Before he could lose his nerve, Lance settled his hand on Keith’s shoulder and squeezed. “Later. Help me with these arrangements.”
They ended up a little sloppier than the rest, but Lance couldn’t bring himself to care.
~~
The summer after the war, a year after the end of the Galra empire, found Lance kneeling in the dirt outside his house, hands muddy from fixing the fallen juniberries. There had been a storm the night before. It had taken out trees, bushes, roses, the like. Juniberries had never been exposed to rain until they were planted on Earth. They did well in it, as one could expect, but they were delicate. Couldn’t take a lot.
They had fallen, wilted, were on the verge of dying.
Lance couldn’t see. His vision was blurred, hands shaking too hard to move any of the flowers properly. His family was asleep - it was early. The sun was barely on the horizon.
It felt cruel. Like the universe was playing a horrible, nasty joke on him. “Here’s this plant that reminds you of your dead girlfriend! Lol time to kill it.” What kind of sick sense of humor did the universe have?
Hands closed over his. Slow. Meticulous. Uncaring of the mud and the dirt and the tears. Lance looked up to find Keith kneeling before him, still dressed in his Blade uniform. His knife was on his hip, a weird detail that set in Lance’s mind and never left. Behind him stood the others, in various forms of dress, all of them looking tired and sad.
He looked back to Keith, drowned in the depths of his gaze. When he opened his mouth, Lance found himself focusing on the way his lips moved, caught himself, very briefly, wondering what they felt like.
“How can we help?”
They spent the day cleaning, restoring, throwing mud and just laughing. It was the first time since her death that Lance had felt truly at peace. At the end of the day, they’d joined Veronica and the kids for lemonade on the porch and surveyed the saved fields.
Keith’s arm had draped around Lance’s shoulders, Blade Uniform replaced with one of Marco’s old college t-shirts. A friendly hug. The weight still registered in Lance’s head. He still didn’t know how they had known to come. “I’m sorry we couldn’t save all of them.”
A glance to the left, at the wheelbarrow of unsalvageable juniberries, and then back to the right, at Keith. The others, behind him. He knew, then. Felt his cheeks burn, but he couldn’t tell if it was a blush or those damned marks. “We never could.”
The hug grew tighter.
~~
“I do.”
“You may now kiss the groom,” Coran announced, eyes twinkling and mustache quirked.
Lance whooped louder than almost anyone as Shiro and Curtis closed together, grinning through their kiss. Hunk grabbed him and Pidge up in a tight hug and Lance sank into it, smiling so widely that he knew his cheeks would ache in the morning.
A look to his left, Keith clapping politely but smiling like he’d just seen the sunrise for the first time. Lance nudged Hunk, jutted his head, and in seconds the man was being swept up along with them, yelping in surprise but laughing as soon as he knew what was happening.
The after party went long. Speeches read, by Keith, one of Curtis’ old friends from before the war that Lance didn’t know very well. One by Coran, that Shiro had requested, one that made the old man cry even as he read.
And then dancing.
Too many partners to count. He danced with Pidge, goofily, twice. Took it more seriously the second time before nudging her off to the woman she kept eyeing in the corner. Lance thought she might be related to Curtis, but wasn’t sure how. Danced with Hunk, mock slow-dancing, and then with Shay, sticking his tongue out at Hunk over her shoulder as she giggled. With Coran, a dramatic waltz that made them both crack up and laugh like children. Coran’s face was soft when he left, his eyes settled on Lance’s cheeks. Lance knew it hurt him to look, sometimes. He didn’t hold it against him.
Somewhere into the night, Shiro approached. “Dance with me.”
Lance took his human hand in surprise but let Shiro lead him out onto the floor. Curtis was dancing with his little sister’s niece, swinging her around the dance floor as she squealed in delight. “How do you feel?” Lance asked, glancing back at Shiro. He realized, with a start, that he was just a little taller than him now.
Shiro’s smile was soft, barely there, but so genuine it ached. “The same? But different. If that makes sense.”
Lance hummed. “It does.”
“I’m sorry.”
Lance lifted his eyebrows, looking at Shiro in confusion. “What for?”
Shiro shrugged, spinning a little until Lance could see Keith over his shoulder. “For putting so many elements of her into this. I just…wanted her to be here, you know?”
Lance locked eyes with the man and softened, squeezing Shiro’s shoulder tightly where his hand rested. “Hey. I do. It’s your day. Of course you wanted her here. We all did. And she was. Here, I mean.”
Shiro’s lips pressed into a thin line. “I know it must have been harder though. For you.”
Lance spluttered out a laugh, shaking his head. When he looked back up, Shiro was watching him. Not in surprise, or irritation, but just…watching. Gentle. “It’s okay,” Lance promised. “I miss her. Of course I do. We all do. But I…”
His eyes drifted again, falling on him, on the way Hunk was trying to teach him the wobble, of all fucking things. His hair was disheveled, suit jacket gone, top of his shirt unbuttoned. He was grinning, eyes sparkling.
Shiro spun so fast Lance barely registered the change in direction until he was watching Veronica and Nadia dancing on the opposite side of the room. Shiro’s lips curled into the most mischievous grin Lance had ever seen on the man. “Oh. OH. Lance.”
His cheeks were burning again, and he lowered his gaze. “I’m…”
“Do it.”
Lance looked up, somewhat embarrassed. “What?”
Shiro’s smile was softer, now, as he took in Lance’s anxiety. “Do it. He’ll say yes. I promise you that.”
He stepped back, pushed him gently in Keith and Hunk’s direction, hand lingering in Lance’s. Shiro squeezed, once. “I promise,” he whispered.
He walked away, then, stepping in and taking Curtis’ niece from him. Lance turned back to Keith and Hunk. Hunk was gone, helping Pidge with a technical issue. Keith was sitting alone, punch in hand.
He glanced up at the night sky, crystal clear and glittering with stars. “Allura, give me courage,” he muttered.
His marks burned as he walked.
Keith looked up when he approached, eyebrows raising, and Lance held out a hand, trying for a genuine, careful smile. “Would you like to dance?”
Keith studied him for a long moment, lips parting and eyes softening into something that Lance found magical. His hand settled in Lance’s with a tension that Lance could feel in his whole body. “I’d love to.”

So I sat down and wrote out this partial outline how Voltron could have played out in a way that would really lean into the entities and the clones.
Those are two ideas I’m fascinated with and had fun thinking about and playing with until I came up with this. It’s kinda long so I’ll put it under a cut:
Zarkon and Honerva are infected by entities from within the rift that warp their minds and manipulate them.
Just like canon, it happens when Zarkon forces Voltron into the rift to try and save Honerva’s life when she’s sick. (Honerva had also been studying the rift, just like in canon).
The entities want 2 things: they hunger for quintessence - life energy. And they want to re-open the rift to let more of themselves through.
They require a living host that has to be compatible with them. To be compatible requires a certain strength of quintessence and spirit, otherwise the entity just consumes you. Eats all your quintessence right up.
If you’re compatible, (like Zarkon and Honerva) it gives you extra powers, while poisoning your minds and taking over.
One of the ‘powers’ the entity allows is: if you die/get old and near death, you can make a clone of yourself and rip the entity and your spirit/quintessence out of your old body, and put it into the new one and go on living. You can do this over and over and over. (Haggar does this to them). Reforging yourself stronger and better each time. (Better, as in better for the entities). That is how Zarkon and Haggar have been around for 10,000 years and seem immortal. I think the BoM have carried out successful attempts on Zarkon’s life, just for him to come back again which is fucking confusing for them. They don’t know how it happens.
So there isn’t actually any quintessence in the rift, the entities are manipulating Zarkon and Haggar into thinking there is so they’ll open the rift and let more of them in.
I was thinking that inside the rift could something like anti-quintessence, which would be like liquefied dementor juice.
So anyways Shiro has that strength. He’s compatible. They infect him with an entity, and it’s one of the most successful takes they’ve ever seen, and then Ulaz helps him escape back to Earth. He doesn’t know what he’s carrying with him.
He’s still himself because the entity needs a lot of time to corrupt someone’s spirit, it’s a slow process.
At the end of season 2 when they capture Allura, Haggar sees this as her chance to get back Shiro. They figure Voltron will come for her, so they prepare a Shiro clone and set their trap. Haggar wants to rip his quintessence out of his body and put it in the new one so they have him.
I imagine that Haggar has access to Shiro through Zarkon’s bond with Black.
BUT Black is like NO. Sends Shiro away somewhere where he’ll be safe. Somewhere he can learn to get the entity out of him: Oriende.
Oriende isn’t a place for chosen Alteans, and also Alfor didn’t build the Lions. Lions have been around for millennia (hence them being legendary even though 10,000 years have passed since it was last seen). Oriende is a place where Paladins went to train and learn about their role, and connect with the past Paladins of their Lion. Usually existing Paladins will induct new Paladins, show them Oriende, but because the last Paladins all perished (except Zarkon) before new Paladins were chosen, there was no one to show the current Paladins where to go.
Shiro might fight the entity on the astral plane to get rid of it. There probably would have been some foreshadowing in the space mall episode when Shiro fought Zarkon on the astral plane.
Lotor/Kaltorius:
I have something totally different in mind for Lotor.
Kaltorius was born like Lotor in canon, 10k years ago and under much the same circumstances. (Kaltorius because in season 8 when there was that flashback with names I think this would be another version of a blend of the names Honerva and Zarkon chose).
Kaltorius is of course compatible with the entity. He’s better than his parents however, and rejects it. He would rather die trying to get rid of it, than live to be consumed and end up like his parents. That is what happens, he dies. Thousands of years pass.
A couple hundred years from the present the Red Lion falls into Zarkon’s possession, and he needs to find a pilot so he can use it to re-open the rift to allow more entities in. Zarkon can’t find a pilot though, because Red is PICKY.
And then he remembers his wayward son Kaltorius, and thinks that their quintessence might match. He has samples of Kaltorius’ DNA, he orders a clone to be made and allowed to grow from scratch naturally unlike the clones for the purpose of transplantation. He names him Lotor.
Lotor doesn’t know he’s a clone, thinks Kaltorius is his dead, disgraced older brother.
When he becomes of age, (18 probably) he’s presented to the Red Lion and swiftly rejected. Zarkon is not happy that this experiment didn’t work out for him, so he banishes Lotor.
From there I think Lotor is like ‘ fuck everyone’ and does his own thing for a long time. Maybe some piracy, some black market trade, and all the while he collects knowledge. He studies all he can about Altea, about where survivors could have gone, what’s going on politically, looking for clues about how his parents lived for 10,000 years, sees that things don’t add up and something fishy is going on. Researches his ‘older brother’ Kaltorius.
He hears about Voltron ‘killing’ Zarkon at the end of season 2, and hears that Zarkon is back again like nothing happened (just like nothing happened all the other times he ‘died’), he begins planning.
Wants to ally with Voltron. They have firepower, and he has knowledge, and the Pedigree to step in to fill the power vacuum if they manage to permanently defeat Zarkon. Their long term goals align, and Lotor has done the maths; the Galra Empire does not need the amount of Quintessence they are sucking out of the universe. There is no way they could be using that much energy, it’s just ridiculous, so what the heck are they doing with it? He thinks it’s dumb, and that he’d run things better. (He’s right).
He kidnaps Keith wanting to talk to him because he's heard he's part galra and thinks he'll get a more sympathetic ear from him. Interesting interaction, Lotor examining this boy that Red accepted. Lotor’s has been curious about who the Red Lion finally chose after rejecting him, and also they’re both half Galra wanting to fight against the Galra.
(Totally self-indulgent: They drug Keith to make him docile when they talk but do a bad job knowing how much to give a small human. Lotor: wow, we got the dosage of this wrong.... um *clears throat. I can't have an intelligent conversation with this. I will write a letter. *tucks letter written in Altean into Keith’s utility belt) Or- Lotor: oh for the love of-- Zethrid, look what you've done. >:/ Zethrid: not my fault he's puny. Lotor: I said docile, not comatose. Keith slurring: A-Allura? That you? Princess, why’d you tie me up? (It’s the long white hair that confuses him lol))
If there's gonna be drama between Lotor and the paladins, it's not gonna be because he was draining Alteans. That doesn't happen. It'll be over methods, he's more cut throat. Maybe Haggar decides to repurpose her Shiro clone to attack them, thinking his familiar face will get them to let their guard down. (She’s right). Lotor sees through it, kills/tries to kill him.
Other bits and pieces:
Black Paladin Allura, she fills in for Shiro in his absence. I’m emphasizing the lion-paladin bond so much, like Red rejected people for hundreds of years waiting for Keith specifically, so I don’t want to cheapen that by having him and Lance switch out of their lions.
Shiro shows up with the white lion of Oriende for Allura, and maybe they switch?? She pilots white, he pilots black again? Unsure about this. Maybe the white lion just teleports him somewhere out of Oriende convenient for the plot so the other Paladins can find him, and he can show them the way there.
Paladins learn/train in Oriende, and they learn history of past Paladins.
I feel like the entities should be an allegory for something...... like greed??
the 1%ers that make everyone work to the bone and hoard all the wealth and just consume the world for really no reason because no one needs that much money, just like no one needs that much quintessence. I think that's it: the entity is greed.
Keith’s Galra reveal would be framed differently, more focus on how Keith feels about it and him accepting himself rather than framing it as a lesson/problem Allura needs to learn/overcome. (If anyone’s curious about that, chuck me an ask and I’ll make a separate post about it).
And that’s all I got so far. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cooking Lesson
Summary: Years in the future, after the war with the Galra is over, Hunk takes on a challenge he never thought he would do. Teaching Shiro's son on how to cook.
Rating: G
Characters/Pairings: Hunk/Shay (background), Shiro, and original character in Shiro’s son.
Author’s Note: This is just a fic idea that has been poking around in my day for a few days and had to get written down. Don’t know if I’ll write more stories in this setting, but for now you get this fluffy thing. LOL
“Uncle Hunk, please teach me how to cook.”
Hunk paused, rolled out from under the ship he was inspecting and removed his goggles. Hiro stared at him, backpack hanging off one shoulder and both hands tucked into his pants pockets. Hiro wore the same uniform all the kids on the Atlas wore, although Hunk noticed it was beginning to look a bit snug on Hiro. He probably had hit another growth spurt without anyone knowing.
Yet, it was impossible to ignore the look of determination shining in the boy’s eyes. Hunk had only ever seen that kind of expression in the fiercest of warriors...and also Pidge when there was only one peanut butter cookie left on the plate.
Hunk rose to his feet and reached for a rag to wipe his hands. “Not that I’m against you learning how to cook, but why the culinary interest all of a sudden?”
Hiro was a smart kid, he was always reading books and absorbing them like a little sponge and he loved it when he and Pidge told him of their latest projects. Cooking, on the other hand, had never been an area Hiro seemed to care about.
Hiro’s black bangs hung over his eyes as he silently removed his backpack and reached inside. He brought out a container and held it out to Hunk for inspection. Not sure if he should be curious or fearful, Hunk glanced inside.
The contents were unappealing, to say the least. There was some kind of watery tomato sauce on top of a pile of white mush and some pieces of burnt meat on the side.
“What is this?” Hunk asked.
Hiro sighed as he zipped up his backpack. “It’s supposed to be spaghetti and meatballs.”
Hunk opened and shut his mouth. “Spaghetti and- Did the cafeteria make this?! I swear I taught Vrepit Sal better than this - what kind of kitchen disaster does he think he can get away with?”
Hunk hadn’t gone there last night. He and Shay had gone to his parents' anniversary dinner. If this was what they were serving, he was going to have to take a page out of Dayak's book.
However, Hiro shook his head. No, Dad did.”
Lightbulbs went off in Hunk’s head as he slowly nodded. “Ooooh,” he muttered quietly. “Shiro’s on a cooking kick again, huh?”
Hiro’s heavy sigh was more than enough confirmation. Hunk couldn’t blame the kid. Shiro was a great leader and pilot, but his cooking skills were an absolute disaster. It hadn’t been a problem when Hiro had been a baby and was content with bottles of milk. It hadn't been a problem when he moved to baby food and Pidge declared her intent to 'puree everything', and it hadn't been a problem when they moved on to finger foods.
However, in the last few years, unless someone else had volunteered to cook Shiro would usually take Hiro to the cafeteria for their meals. Every few months, though, Shiro would begin to worry that he wasn't providing his son with enough proper home cooked meals and would try to rectify the situation.
Shiro’s last attempt before this had been meatloaf. At least, Hunk was hoping that that charred brick had been intended as meatloaf. Honestly that lump of charcoal could have been the remains of just about anything, but the thought of turning anything but ground meat to that kind of substance was kind of terrifying.
Hiro clasped his hands together as he looked up to Hunk with pleading eyes. “Please, teach me,” he begged. “I figured if Dad can’t cook, maybe I could?”
Hunk frowned as he rubbed his neck. Hiro was eight years old and that was about the age Hunk learned to cook things besides toast. “Did you talk to your dad about this?”
Hiro chewed his bottom lip. “No, I know I should, but I don’t want to hurt his feelings.” Hiro bgan to fiddle with his backpack strap. “Also, he’s always so tired when he gets home and I thought it be nice if I could make dinner for us.”
Hunk’s heart melted at that. Hiro was a good kid. Hard to believe he was already this big. Hunk still remembered all those years ago when they had received the distress calls from the small colony of Delta Seven. The people there were being attacked by some renegade soldiers that were trying to cling to the fading glory of Zarkon’s empire.
They arrived in time to capture the soldiers, but not in time to save the colonists. It was heartbreaking, but they decided to check for survivors and by some miracle Lance had found a baby. The sole survivor of the whole colony.
They had taken the baby back, but try as they might none of them could find any connection to the child's family. The only thing they knew was that “Hiro” had been sewn into his clothing. Not long after giving up the search, Shiro had decided to adopt Hiro as his son. A lot of people had been surprised by the decision, some had even attempted to dissuade Shiro from the idea.
Shiro was captain of the Atlas and he didn't have anyone to help raise Hiro. Whenever someone brought up the challenges of the single parent, though, Shiro would usually end the argument with a glare - assuming the other paladins or the Holts weren't there to speak up in his defense.
Still, being a single dad hadn't been easy, but looking back on it, Shiro had probably felt a connection to Hiro. He too had lost his parents at a young age and only had his grandfather to raise him. Shiro had been in Hiro’s shoes and probably felt it was only right he did the same.
“Uncle Hunk?” Hiro asked with a raised eyebrow. “You listening?”
Hunk shook his head to dispel the memories and crossed his arms. “Yeah, sorry, lost in thought.” He kneeled and held up a finger. “I’ll teach you a few things, but you have to promise me you’ll only cook when there’s an adult with you.”
Hiro wrinkled his nose. “Why? I’m not a baby.”
“No, but if you burn or cut yourself, you’ll need someone to help you,” he said, echoing the words his own mother told him years ago when he began. “So, promise me?”
Hiro frowned, but then gave a firm nod as he held out his hand. “Okay, I promise.”
Hunk grinned as they shook on it. “Alright, it’s a deal.” He rose and reached for his toolbox. “I was just about done anyway. Let me just put away my tools and then we can get some ingredients.” He looked to Hiro, considering the best starting point. “First thing to teach you is how to make a salad.”
Hiro scoffed as he rolled his eyes. “I already know how to make a salad.”
“Oh,” Hunk said as he arranged his tools into the box. “How do you do it?”
“Take lettuce, wash and tear it up and pour on some dressing,” Hiro explained.
Hunk wanted for more words to follow, but when they didn’t he leaned against the table. “And?”
Hiro blinked in confusion. “And what? What else is there?”
Hunk sighed as he rubbed his eyes. “Yeah, okay, we are definitely getting tomatoes, mushrooms and croutons.”
“What are croutons?”
“What has Shiro been feeding you?!”
0808080808080808080808080808080808080808080808080
“Good job,” Hunk assessed as he watched Hiro spread the cooked noodles in the pan. “Now just mix in the tuna with those seasonings we mixed up earlier.”
“Okay,” Hiro said as he reached for a can opener and tried not to trip over the apron hanging above his ankles; Hunk made a mental note to find one more appropriate for Hiro’s size. “And I drain the water from the can?”
“Yup, you got it,” Hunk said as he stood back and watched. “Once that's mixed evenly, just sprinkle the grated cheese on top, okay?”
Hiro nodded and proceeded to follow the directions as he glanced to the clock. “Dad will be home soon. I should go and set the table-”
Hunk ruffled Hiro’s hair. “I got it, kiddo, just focus on getting that into the oven - and don't forget the garlic bread!”
Hiro nodded as Hunk left to fetch the dishes. Shiro’s quarters weren’t huge, just like everyone staying on the Atlas he had a space about the size of a small apartment. They were currently stationed on Earth, and the Garrison did provide rooms on the base when the Atlas was docked, but Shiro preferred to stay near on his ship. Hunk imagined the Atlas preferred to have Shiro close by too, as did Hiro.
He set plates on the table, and started to arrange cutlery as the door opened. Shiro entered, pausing mid-step as he spotted Hunk at the table.
“Hey, Shiro,” Hunk greeted warmly.
“Hey,” Shiro said as he shut the door. “What are you doing here?”
Hunk pointed his thumb towards the kitchen. “Giving your son a cooking lesson.”
Shiro opened his mouth, but then blushed as he rubbed his neck. “He ah….told you about last night, didn’t he?”
“Yyyeeaahhh,” Hunk said as set out the cutlery. “What did you do to that pasta? I thought I was looking at a pile of mashed potatoes.”
“I don’t know, I thought I followed most of the instructions in the recipe,” Shiro said as he removed and hung up his coat.
Hunk blinked. “How do you manage to follow 'most of’ the directions?”
Shiro gave a sheepish smile. “Um well, I lost track of how long the pasta had been boiling. I wanted to make sure it was fully cooked, so I figured I better keep it going for the minimum time listed on the box.”
Hunk blinked and shook his head. “Okay, we're going to have to have words about the meaning of 'al dente', and I’m scared to even ask what you did to that sauce.”
Hiro poked his head out of the kitchen. “Hey, Dad, welcome home! Give me a tic and I’ll have garlic bread out of the oven.”
“Sounds great,” Shiro said as he approached. “How about I help-”
Hiro stood his ground and shoved at his approaching father’s chest. “No way! You stay out! I’m cooking this!”
Shiro gave a fake gasp as he placed his robotic hand over his chest. “My own son, casting me out. Truly, the greatest tragedy of all time. Everything...growing dark...”
Hiro paused as he looked up toward Shiro's face. “Um...well...if you really wanted to-”
“I’m just teasing,” Shiro said as he gave Hiro a hug. “I am fully aware how unskilled I am in the kitchen.”
Hunk briefly thought of suggesting Shiro wouldn’t be ‘unskilled’ if he just bothered to follow basic instructions, but he kept his mouth shut as Hiro smiled and hugged back.
“Okay, it’s almost ready,” the boy then paused as he turned around. “Oh, Dad, did you know you can add these toasted tiny bread things to a salad?”
Shiro blinked. “You mean croutons?”
Hiro frowned and tilted his head. “You knew about them?”
“Yes...Hiro, you’ve eaten croutons before,” Shiro argued.
Hiro looked skeptical as he crossed his arms. “When?”
“In the cafeteria, whenever I get you a salad,” Shiro remarked with a raised eyebrow.
“You always just told me that I should eat my greens, you never mentioned there was bread in it,” Hiro argued.
Hunk covered his hand over his mouth to stop snickering, having to fight laughter right up until the kitchen began to beep. Hiro growled as he glared into the kitchen. “Dad, tell Atlas to stop setting off the smoke detector.”
Shiro frowned in confusion as Hiro ducked inside and looked to Hunk. “The smoke detector?”
“It’s been going off and on, and everything is totally fine. I checked,” Hunk explained while pointing to it. “I think your ‘partner’ is just being over protective again, or acting like that's you in the kitchen.”
“Ah, I see,” Shiro said as he went to sit in a chair. “That would explain why she kept poking at me to rush home. At least she’s not just disabling the stove outright.”
Hunk nodded. Shiro shared a link with the Atlas the same way the lions did with the paladins. However, in the Atlas’s case she had more control over their environment and seemed to take it upon herself to be Shiro’s co-parent.
When Hiro was a baby, the Atlas would sometimes shut off the lights or turn off electronics in Shiro’s quarters to help the child sleep undisturbed. Granted, that was nothing compared to when Hiro started to walk and the Atlas kept locking doors to ensure he didn’t wander off. It took a week of crew complaints before Shiro could get her to relax about that.
They heard the stove door slam shut before Hiro emerged, grinning proudly as he held out a foil covered object with his oven mitts.
“Uncle Hunk, I think the garlic bread is ready,” Hiro said as he held it out.
“Awesome,” Hunk said as he did a thumbs up. “Won’t be long before we can eat the casserole.”
Shiro leaned on his hand. “You joining us?”
“I need to taste-test Hiro’s efforts,” Hunk remarked as he sat down. “Shay is getting home late tonight anyway. So, it’s fine.”
Shiro nodded as he rose. “Can I at least be trusted to pour drinks?”
“Ask Hiro, he’s the chef today,” Hunk said as he pointed.
Hiro frowned, and went quiet. Hunk began to wonder if Hiro was actually debating the question seriously or not.
“Okay, you can pour,” Hiro said as he pointed. “But stay away from the oven.”
“Understood,” Shiro said with a mocking sad sigh. “My own child, having so little faith in me.”
Hunk chuckled as he leaned back in the chair.
0808080808080808080808080808080808080808080
Dinner was served promptly, and Hunk praised the meal with full marks. Hiro grinned and began to ask Hunk what they should make next, until Shiro pointed out they needed to eat the leftovers they would likely have from this meal first.
Truthfully, Hunk had planned it that way. The more leftovers they had, the longer it would be before Shiro tried to cook again. Not long after dinner, it was time for Hiro to get ready for bed. The boy pouted at this, but didn’t argue.
Hunk offered to wash dishes as Shiro went to attend to Hiro. After Hunk finished the cleaning and had put away the leftover food, he crept to where he heard movement from Hiro’s bedroom.
Hiro was already asleep, with the black and white winged lion plushes Lance had made for him years ago. Shiro looked at him with a content smile as he used his robotic arm to tuck him in and then then kissed Hiro’s forehead.
“Night, Kiddo,” he whispered as he sat up, the lights dimming without a word or motion. Hiro buried his face into his pillow as Shiro stood, and the proud parent quietly waved to Hunk as he shut the door.
“Thanks for the help,” Shiro told Hunk.
“No problem,” Hunk said as he crossed his arms. “You know I’m always happy to teacher when it comes to cooking. Day after tomorrow I should be free to give Hiro another lesson.”
Shiro laughed as he rubbed his neck. “Still, it's kind of sad I can’t make a decent meal for my own kid.”
Hunk patted his shoulder. “Hey, we all have our strengths and you’re a great dad.” He narrowed. “Even if you can’t make a grilled cheese sandwich without burning it.”
“Hey, I like them crispy,” Shiro remarked and then they both laughed.
“There's crispy, and then there's suitable to be armor plating. Anyway, I should be home to meet Shay,” Hunk said as he headed for the door. “See you in the morning.”
“Sure thing,” Shiro said as he looked to Hiro. “Although, I’m going to at least try to make Hiro pancakes.”
Hunk froze, turning to Shiro. “Really?”
“...Frozen pancakes that I just need to reheat. And by that I mean have the Atlas reheat,” Shiro argued.
Hunk internally cringed but gave a nod as he left. He had a feeling he was going to have a long list of things to teach Hiro.

Current state of ships
There's a lot of discourse over shipping in the fandom right now, once again (Oof™) so as a Multishipper I thought, hey, why not look at the proper canon side here.
-Sheith: We know that there's a strong bond between them, Keith said he loves Shiro. Considering that Keith has referred to Shiro as his brother multiple times, and judging from the flashbacks, it's probably safe to say that this is what he sees him as now
Klance: They didn't really have any interaction or development since S3 and it's been shown safely now that Lance is in love with Allura and is quite serious about these feelings. At the moment, I'm not sure how big the chances of endgame Klance are. Maybe there won't be any endgame? Who knows
Allurance: As said above, Lance genuinely is in love with her. Judging from Allura's reaction she doesn't feel the same way about Lance. She's also in love with Lotor. Lance supports her a lot this season and Allura realizes & appreciates this and allows herself to get closer to him. However, she still has feelings for Lotor and I'm sure that her not-being-attracted-to-Lance that's been elaborated since S1 won't change
Lotura: Allura is definitely still in love with Lotor, or at least cares a lot, since she wanted to save him still at the end. She's been hurting a lot over Lotor betraying her and I'm sure it'll take time to heal. We can't really know which of the things Lotor told her were lies, but considering that he said "we're meant to be together" (instead of saying "I want to be with you" or something similar) it kinda implies that he does believe in a connection between them. I felt this statement was genuine, but I suppose you can interpret it however you want
Hidge/Punk: They started hinting at it last season, first we saw them solely growing closer as friends, but ever since Pidge's father teased them, it seems the show might be leading into that direction. We got a lot of small background interaction that shows that they're currently close and care a lot about each other. This ship is probably the one that's most up to interpretation on this list, so you may disregard it if you don't agree with there being a kind of romantic undertone
Shatt: apparently they never reunited after all, since Kuron is the one that met Matt. I'm not sure what that does for their relationship, but since Kuron very much had the same feelings about the people around him as Shiro, the interaction between Matt and Kuron showed how Shiro feels about him too. I just added this one in because a lot of people pointed out that Shiro didn't actually meet Matt yet
Shallura: Someone pointed this out to me so I want to add this. The whole scene with Allura essentially reviving Shiro brought them back to balancing out each other, we had her reposition herself to give him a warm smile, we have him with completely white hair now which, character design wise, of course makes them look attractive together and makes viewers more drawn to considering them as a couple (someone made a post about this regarding Lotor and Allura and I think it applies for Shallura as well) I never really thought about Shallura much, so I'd say take a look at the Shallura tag, the shippers actually explain this really well. I think if Allura ends up with someone who isn't Lotor, it could be Shiro. We don't get much more than this though at the moment and it might be all speculations.
As I said, this is how I think the ships stand right now, canon-wise
If you feel like I'm bashing a ship, I'm really not, but if it matters, I'll just come out now and say that my favorite ships are currently Klance, Sheith and Hidge/Punk (I guess that one was obvious lol)
Overall, I think all of us are reading too much into canon & trying to push our ships too hard and it makes us ignore the canon facts, the actual storyline and the characters we've come to love so much.
Shipping is fun, but we have to separate canon and fanon.
And guys... we're not enemies. We're all in the same fandom. Let's stick together.

where you don’t see me
(wip)
a/n: well, i started writing this after season 6 and never got around to finishing it before season 7. this was supposed to be canon-compliant but now it’s...not lol and i have very mixed feelings about s7 so i’m impulsively deciding to dump some writing. i had about 7k words but i’m sharing only 2k here. k/a is still one of my fav vld ships so i might finish this eventually or it might go in my vault of abandoned wips who knows
---
Morning arrives on the barren moon in pale green. The crisp air bites her exposed face as Allura wakes with exhaustion weighing on her at the break of dawn. Her weary eyes, not yet ready for the new day, refuse to open. Enviously so, no one else seems to stir. Next to her, Pidge and Romelle are still asleep, and Allura decides to indulge in the comfort of her blanketed cot for a little while longer.
She tells herself not to think. Not about Voltron, not about Olkarion, not about Lotor. She builds herself a wall. Soon, her breathing slows. Her senses drift farther and farther away. Just as sleep begins to salvage its lost victim back into its trenches, warm fur tickles her back and nudges her leg. Easily guessing the culprit, Allura curls deeper under her blanket, but curiosity persuades her to turn around and confront the wolf.
Allura meets the cool surface of her pillow and comes face-to-face with Keith’s bright-eyed wolf, watching her attentively. Smiling tiredly, she reaches out and gently pets the wolf on its head, who responds obediently by leaning in to the touch.
“Keith trained you well, didn’t he?” she asks the wolf quietly, so as to not wake the others around them.
It seems to understand her and nods proudly. Hearing noise outside, its ears perk up and its head turns in the direction of the source. Light footsteps tread from beyond the shielded canopy, and Allura sits up from her cot, her messy, white hair cascading down to her waist. She scans the rest of the makeshift sleeping quarters and discovers only one cot empty.
The wolf scampers from Allura’s side, exiting the tent, and Allura feels compelled to follow. Climbing out of her cot, Allura smooths out her nightgown and soundlessly slips into her Paladin boots. She heads outside, and when she lifts the entrance of the tent, a strong gust of wind blows into her. Allura grimaces and clutches her nightgown tighter. She ventures further out and finds Keith with his back facing her, kneeling down and feeding his wolf a small snack before breakfast.
Hesitantly, she walks forward, until her heavy boots reach Keith’s crouched shadow and Keith’s wolf turns to look at her. In the back of her mind, Allura wonders if she’s allowed to interrupt them at all. Since their last interaction, Keith hasn’t even looked at her, let alone talked to her. It chips at her pride. She doesn’t know what she has done wrong.
Moondust grazes past her cheeks, lands in her tangled, unbrushed hair. Keith glances over his shoulder, and his eyes widen when he sees her. It suddenly occurs to Allura that she hardly looks presentable and mild horror shocks through her system.
“Princess, you’re awake,” he says, standing up to greet her.
“Good morning, Keith,” she responds. She tugs at the hem of her sleeve nervously and resists the urge to fix her atrociously improper hair.
“Is everybody else…?”
“No, I don’t think so. Just us.”
Keith takes a moment to process the information before he flashes her a smile. He’s more expressive since finding his mother and returning from the quantum abyss. Right now, he seems almost cautious, Allura thinks, and the mere suggestion of a growing distance between them stings her chest.
“That’s fine,” Keith finally assures.
Allura replies with a shy smile of her own. She notices the revealing dampness of his skin and the ends of his hair, drying in clumps against the back of his neck.
“Were you training?” she asks.
“Not for long. I didn’t want to do anything that would wake someone up.”
“That’s quite considerate.”
For a moment, neither speaks. It’s Keith who breaks the silence.
“We should leave in a few hours. That way, we reach Olkarion before the end of the day.”
“Right. Good idea,” says Allura, sounding more disappointed than intended.
“We could leave earlier –” Keith starts to suggest, but Allura rushes to explain herself.
“Oh, no, I didn’t mean it that way! Nothing like that. I’m just…” Allura trails off, causing Keith to frown in concern.
“Allura,” he asks, “Is something wrong?”
Keith’s tone is remarkably gentle, leaving space for Allura to breathe. She bites her lip and exhales slowly, unsure whether or not to proceed. Searching for affirmation, she anxiously glances at Keith, who stands in front of her waiting patiently for her response. Warily, she decides to tell him.
“I’ve had a lot on my mind.”
Allura doesn’t want to mention how her thoughts have tormented her for movements, how they have persisted despite opening up to Lance back in the Castle. Irritating locks of her hair fly wildly as the wind rises again.
“Like what?”
“I…”
She can’t breathe. If Keith finds out what she had done with Lotor, how she had let something so fleeting like infatuation blind her to the truth, he would probably never forgive her.
“Let’s find somewhere to sit down.”
Allura nods. She doesn’t miss how he almost extends his hand to her but decides against it at the last tick, like he already knows that her hands and her lips have been tainted.
---
They sit next to each other at one of the tables they use to eat meals and speak in hushed tones. Allura can feel its cool, steel surface through the thin layers of her nightgown and sleeping garments as she presses her crossed forearms into the sharp edge.
Her fingers clench tightly around Keith’s dark blue blanket, draped delicately over her shoulders. Keith had snuck in past Shiro and Hunk’s sleeping figures to retrieve it when a sudden blast of wind had nearly blown Allura’s nightgown off her body earlier.
“…I liked him so much, Keith,” Allura confesses in a horrified whisper, her walls finally crashing into dust and ashes. She can’t read the expression on Keith’s face. He’s not angry. He’s not jealous. Part of Allura wants him to be. She desperately needs to know what he thinks. Instead, he just listens. So she continues.
“He said all the right things. We were so alike. I…I thought he was my soulmate. It all happened so fast, and I let my emotions get the better of me. I helped create a monster.”
Suddenly understanding, Keith’s face falls and he leans back, contemplating the right words to say. He’s not good at giving advice, but memories of Shiro’s lectures and all the times he had gotten himself into fights, ruined second chances, let his own emotions control him, flood into his mind. Keith studies the anguish and heartbreak in Allura’s eyes, and as much as it makes him want to touch her, dry out her tears before they fall, tuck loose strands of wispy, silver hair behind her ear, he doesn’t.
“It already happened. You can’t blame yourself forever,” Keith says quietly, carefully. “Emotions are a part of you. They tell you things that words can’t. I was so angry for so long. But you learn how to control them.”
Allura manages a halfhearted smile.
“Shiro used to tell me ‘patience yields focus.’ Acknowledge my emotions. Be patient. I wasn’t always good about it, but it helped.”
“Patience…” Allura muses out loud.
“…Yields focus,” Keith finishes for her, grinning.
Wordlessly imagining the retired Black Paladin reciting his mantra, Keith and Allura share a reserved laugh.
Allura sighs, relaxing her shoulders.
“What happens if he comes back? He has access to unlimited quintessence.”
“Voltron will defeat him,” Keith responds squarely.
“How can you be so sure?”
Keith pauses while he stares at her and Allura’s breath catches in her throat. He averts his gaze for a moment before looking directly in her eyes.
“We have you.”
It’s uncanny how Keith is always there to catch her when she stumbles, both figuratively and…literally. Allura tries to hide her amused smile as she recalls the time Keith had caught her trying to sneak out of the Castle. When Keith looks at her curiously, Allura blushes and sheepishly waves off his concern.
They fall into a comfortable silence at the table, and like the calming wind, Allura feels so much lighter. Wrapping herself tightly in Keith’s blanket, she leans in against the table and stares out at the morning horizon. When she pulls the blanket up to her rosy, wind-chilled cheeks, the addictive fragrance of juniberry soap laced with a scent so distinctly Keith drowns her senses. The pale green sky is brighter now, delineating the evident passage of time of which they had lost track. Allura supposes that the others should be waking soon.
She feigns indifference, but she watches Keith quietly take out his Marmora blade from the corner of her eye. In stark contrast to his usually aggressive demeanor, he gently runs his thumb over the glowing jagged insignia, and Allura bites her lip, inadvertently wondering about how it would feel to be the recipient of that soft touch, to be the object of Keith’s warm affections. Whoever Keith falls in love with would be lucky, she thinks.
With piercing sharp focus, Keith begins to practice gripping techniques, slashing the air in small, controlled movements. Allura has always found Keith’s dedication endearing, his natural talent intimidating. Without realizing, she gravitates closer to him to observe his extraordinary skill in fascination.
When Keith finally notices her watching, he stops and looks at her, completely unaffected.
“Do you want to try?” he asks her plainly.
Taken aback by the blunt nature of his invitation, Allura’s eyes widen.
“I…May I?”
Her eagerness reveals itself in her tone and Keith smirks.
“All yours, Princess.” He flips the handle and offers it to her.
Allura casually leans in and her hand coyly reaches out to grab his Marmora blade, still warm from Keith’s tight grip. She studies the combat knife in its entirety, acknowledging the exceptional craftsmanship and admiring the quintessence-infused luxite. It dawns on her then that this knife, very much like her own crown, had been passed down by his mother in his infancy, and a momentary rush of sadness overcomes her. She can easily imagine how treasured and important this rebel blade must be to Keith.
Sentimental but resolute, she demonstrates her proficiency with a basic forward grip, slicing in a clean, diagonal motion.
“Not bad,” Keith remarks.
“Show me a reverse grip,” she orders, nearly shoving the blade in Keith’s face.
Keith smiles apprehensively but his eyes dance with childlike excitement. His hand catches her slim wrist and decidedly lowers the blade from his face.
“Not if you’re going to stab me,” says Keith, quirking his eyebrow.
Allura blushes.
“Sorry.”
“I’m kidding,” Keith replies, cracking a teasing grin and causing Allura to blush harder. “You want to hold it like this.”
Without a second thought, he moves next to her to adjust the blade and position her hand. Now distressingly aware of their pressed shoulders, Allura stops breathing and stares as Keith smoothly slides his hand from her wrist to clasp hers, leaving behind a scorching field. She refuses to look up. She can’t face him.
Sensing her stiffness, Keith turns to her.
“Allura,” he starts, and Allura jerks her head toward him at the sound of her name. “You have to –”
Their eyes meet, inches apart. Keith forgets what he intends to say.
“Oh! Allura! Keith! You’re both awake!”
They jump and separate at the loud, startling interruption. Allura gasps and both let go of the blade at the same time, but before it can hit and clatter on the table, Keith quickly swipes his blade back onto his belt. Like deer in headlights, they turn to meet their maker.
Coran emerges fresh-faced from under the canopy, cheerfully stretching out his legs. He walks over to the pair, thinking nothing of the obvious heat steaming from their ears.
“I hope you’re not too hungry, Princess! I’ll get to breakfast right away!”
Keith promptly and dramatically springs up from the table.
“I’ll help.”
“Gladly appreciated, Keith! How do you feel about cracking some kotka eggs?”
“Sounds great, Coran,” Keith grimaces, hurriedly following Coran and leaving Allura behind at the table without a second glance.
When she’s sure neither of them are looking, Allura collapses and buries her face in her arms. She can’t shake the image of his warm, calloused hand over hers from her mind. Inhaling sharply and holding her breath, Allura pleads her heart to stop pounding so furiously. Patience, she tells herself. Be patient. She breathes out slowly and takes another deep breath. Closing her eyes, all she sees is dark, shining violet.

I’ve been tagged...
...by the sweet @caramelcheese, thank you ;)) <33
Voltron Legendary Defender Ask Meme
How did you discover the show?
When s1 was released, it was all over my dash, and I’m curious by nature so since I’m on Netflix, I couldn’t help to try it. And I’m glad I did ^^
Was it love at first sight or did it take you a while to get into the the show?
Not love at first sight :p I’ve gonna say, I thought the first episodes were a bit childlish to me, but I began to really enjoy it after few episodes. Also, the story really goes more and more interesting as the seasons go by so I really can say I love the show so much now.
Do you have a favorite episode?
I have a few ^^ :
- s1ep13 The Black Paladin : this is when I realized the show was really going to be good. As much I thought s1 was ok, the end was just so intense, it’s one of the episode I remember the most.
- s3ep05 The Journey : more than the relief that Shiro was alive (well we know it’s Kuron now but still), it’s really the episode when I feared for his life....even at the end I didn’t know if he was going to be fine or not. Also long haired Shiro please~
- s6ep05 The Black Paladins (lol same title again) : what can I say, AMAZING animation, emotional moments, intense fights, love and I cried.
Do you have a favorite paladin?
Keith, and not because he’s the “mysterious cool guy” lol I melted for his sensitive side. He may appear like cold lone wolf, but deep down, he’s very sweet and loyal, he cares deeply about his friends, and he’s ready to give up his life to keep them safe. Really that boy ;__;
Then it’s Hunk, he’s my baby, I love him so much, he’s so kind and compassionate <33
Do you have a favorite Lion? (If it’s different from your fav Paladin, why?)
I’m gonna say Red, mostly bcs I love her bond with Keith and I picture her to be the same kind as him from personality :p
Do you have a favorite villain?
LOTOR BUT THEY RUINED HIM IN THE LAST SEASON WHEN HE COULD HAVE BEEN SUCH A GREAT VILAIN, LIKE IMAGINE IF HE HAD INDEED BETRAY THE TEAM BUT WITHOUT ALL THIS CRAP ABOUT BEING A MASS MURDERER AND BECOMING CRAZY OF POWER, BUT JUST BECAUSE HE WANTED INDEED TO RULE THE UNIVERSE (BUT NOT BY VIOLENCE BCS THATS WHAT MADE HIS CHARACTER SO INTERESTING IN THE FIRST PLACE) AND IT WOULD GO AGAINST WHAT THE PALADIN WANTS TO BUILD SO THEY WOULD BECOME ENEMIES AGAIN BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD BE TRAGIC BCS ITS NOT AS IF HE WOULD REALLY HATE THE TEAM BUT HE WOULDN’T HAVE A CHOICE SO IT WOULD HAVE ENDED WITH A FIGHT BETWEEN VOLTRON AND LOTOR WITH A LOT OF EMOTIONS SINCE LOTOR WOULD STILL CARE ABOUT ALLURA AND THE BOYS AND GAHHHH IM STILL SO MAD.
Do you have a favorite Alien Race? (Recurring and/or minor)
I don’t really know all the races so I’m just gonna go with the Alteans, I love their ears and the variety of color skin ^^
Favorite side / other character(s)- Rebels, Generals, Blade of Marmora, Garrison, etc?
Krolia because she’s so pretty and badass *p* And Matt because he’s such a nice big brother :’)
How/Why did you join the fandom?
I didn’t want to be part of it at first bcs of the haters >< so I was discrete in my reblogs and all, especially concerning my ship (Sheith), but then my friend @i-w-o-n-n started it so I began to talk about it with her, and she gave me the confidence to be part of the fandom :) so thank you to this cutie again :’)
Care to share your favorite headcanon?
Black is shipping Sheith xD that’s it lol
What do you think is the best part of the show?
Like I said before, I really think that the most seasons you watch, the better it becomes. The charac development is very good paced, the intensity of the episodes is always rising and the animation is so neat.
Any hopes and wishes for future episodes / seasons?
I would like for Hunk and Lance to have a little more individual development.
I hope in s7 they manage to bring back Shiro is the team Voltron without putting Allura aside somehow....actually I want her to have her own Lion, it would be amazing if she gets the white Lion. Then, Keith could go back to Red because I miss them together ><
It has been confirmed that Shiro and Kuron shares the same mind now, so I wish he would reply to Keith’s words =v=) <3
I wish for canon Sheith x))))
Ah also I wish we’ll never see Lotor’s comrades, I just hate them so much.
Do you think you’ll stick it out until the end of the show?
Why would I stop now x) no.... HOW COULD I?
Tag your friends or someone you want to get to know better:
@i-w-o-n-n @chou-cream-sundae @story-kat @starshi @allthesheith @keepleaves @yuujinjou & @kitty-in-blue <3
Only if you want to of course :) *hug you all*

Krolia creates a simulation for the paladins on a volcanic planet so i think that counts
Someone has a twin reveal
lmao does Voltron 2.0 count as Voltron’s twin?
when they show Lance’s family, there’s a girl wearing a jacket just like his I hope this is his twin sister???
Keith goes galra
ugh I was rally hoping for this!
If you read all of this, you're just as sane as I am. Take that as you will.
Also I'll be tagging spoilers with #voltronspoilers and #vlds7
Edit: So I got some things correct. I’m actually surprised lol some of these are really vague and general though and kind of a stretch but just let me have this please
#i know this is long#but i had a lot of thoughts to get out#especially right before the season drops#still debating whether i should stay up or not#i mean i have plans tomorrow#but i can always take a nap#some of these are kinda shitposts#but it's possible that they happen#no one knows whata gonna happen#and i'm scared#let's see if any of these come true#shrug#voltron#vlds7#predictions

Hi so I finished S6 and like, I'm legit hoping we actually see them all interacting with their families on Earth and we actually learn how long they've been gone what do you hope for next season??
-Me too!! I’m so excited for them to go back to earth and finally find out how long they’ve been gone. And I really wanna meet Lance and Hunk’s families!
-I’m also curious as to how earth will react to them coming back?? With aliens?? Like I hope Sam made it back okay and didn’t get strapped to a table at the garrison like Shiro was
- I have this vision in my head of Allura greeting Iverson and he’s just kinda standing there in shock bc “is that a deadass alien”, and she notices and shifts her ears round and camouflages her scales and says “would you be more comfortable if I’m in this form?” And Iverson nearly passes out bc SHAPESHIFTING ALIENS?? THERE COULD BE MORE ALIENS ON THIS PLANET AND WE JUST DONT KNOW???
-also when people find out that Keith’s half alien??? Wild
-Allura and Coran learning about different Earth cultures would be really interesting! They’d probably drop dead if they learned how many different countries, languages, and cultures exist on one small planet!!
-space mice meet Earth mice??? :O
-I really wanna see more of Allura and Lance’s friendship!! I like that they’ve gotten so close and supportive of each other. And even though she’s not interested in him romantically they still love each other and it’s so wholesome
-ALSO KEITH AND LANCE INTERACTION I MISS ITI hope they’ll get closer too; and even though Keith fits the role of BP a lot better I still want them to work together like in S3! Tbh I just love seeing loving and supportive Lance and I want my boys to laugh together
-Ooh I’m also hoping Lance will use his broadsword in a fight; it’s gotta come up eventually and I have a feeling when it does it’ll be tight as hell (does anyone besides Allura even know about it??)
-more Krolia!! I’d like to see the other paladins spend some time around her and get to know her
-also I absolutely need to know Space Puppy’s and Daddy Texas’ namesAnd just in general Lance, Hunk, and Keith’s canon last names?? Bc they still don’t have any for this iteration.
-we finally get the real Shiro again!!! After nearly 4 seasons!!! I’m hoping to see some lighthearted moments with him because god does he deserve it, I want Shiro’s silly side!!!
-it’s be fun to see more Matt too! And reuniting with the real Shiro. Matt better make fun of the white hair or else what’s the point
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head rn and ofc this likely wouldn’t all be able to happen in one season lolBut I’m hopeful!!!I’m so insanely excited for earth YALL
Thanks for the ask!! ❤️❤️

After a couple days after The Lance dying incident, Lance suddenly feels really sick and nauseous (after they got shiro and everything they went to a near by planet to get what they need before they go to earth) Lance suddenly feels super tired so he excuses himself from breakfast and goes to his room and sleeps all day and night. The next morning he wakes up to feel really sore, when he looks over at a mirror he screams bc hes altean (he's basically the male version of Allura)part1lookfor part2
“Everyone comes running into his room and they all just stare at Lance while Lance freaks out. Coran looks at everyone and then back to Lance he then gets in a defensive position and asks where Lance was Lance looks at Coran and screams I AM LANCE WHAT HAPPENED TO ME Allura remembers when Lance died and how she revived him, she then tells everyone else what happened and then shiro sits down next to Lance and puts his one arm around him and tries to comfort Lance and then you can end it(shance?)p2″
“Hey, can you do some Shance Langst? I’m really fucked up over the new season”
“hi i’m not sure where to send in a langst prompt but may you write one that addresses the after affect of how lance feels about essentially dying or almost dying n being revived by allura??? preferably after season six while they are traveling back to earth or something !!! thank u”
A lot of people asked for Shance Langst so here it is! Also I know it’s kind of lazy to put this many prompts in one fic but I have a ton and they basically all say the same thing so… yeah lol.
Trigger warnings are posted in the tags.
“Hey, uh, I think I’m going to take a nap” Lance said, standing up from the table. Shiro frowned up at Lance in concern.
“You just woke up” he stated. “Are you feelingalright?” he asked quietly. Lance stared down at his feet and gulped.
“I should be asking you that” Lance said, ignoring his question. Lance had gone toShiro’s door crying more times than he was willing to admit in the last fewdays. As soon as he would fall asleep he would have nightmares about dying. Hehadn’t had time to process his own death and resurrection, so it wasmanifesting in his dreams.
“Lance,” Shiro loosely gripped Lance’s wrist. “Do youwant to talk about it?” Most of the time when he ended up crying in Shiro’s bedhe felt awful. He apologized over and over for inconveniencing Shiro. Shiro wasthe one who had been trapped in his lion’s consciousness, unable to communicatewith anyone.
“I’m fine, Shiro” Lance assured him. “I just didn’tget enough sleep” he met Shiro’s eyes to convince him that he really was okay.Shiro searched Lance’s face, and then reluctantly let go of his wrist.
“Alright…” Lance crossed his arms and nodded his headat Shiro before leaving the room. The moment he was alone in the hallway hedoubled over and gripped his head. He felt awful. His stomach was cramping, andhis head was pounding. Lance felt like his skull was going to burst. He took aminute to steady himself and then he continued on toward his room.
When he finally arrived at his room he fell face downon his bed and curled up into a ball. He was so tired and sore that he couldbarely move. Lance let his head drop down on to the pillow and let the sleep overtakehim.
~ ~
Lance was groggy when he woke up. His whole body ached.Every inch of his skin felt like it was on fire. Lance groaned and rolled overon his bed. He had no idea what time it was. It had to be late. He probablymissed dinner. Lance stood up and stretched. Aside from the weird sensations onhis skin he felt much better. The nap had really helped. He didn’t feel nauseousany more.
It wasn’t until Lance walked into the bathroom that henoticed the changes in his appearance. It took him a moment to realize that theface in the mirror wasn’t his. Or at least, the him that he remembered.
His eyes were the first thing he noticed. They weren’tmuch different, aside from the alarming brightness of them. It wasn’t that thecolor had changed, they were just… brighter. At first, he disregarded it ashaving gotten too much sleep, but then his gaze traveled to his hair. It wassnow-white. Lance frowned in confusion. He rubbed his eyes and then blinked themrapidly before turning back to the mirror. His hair hadn’t changed.
“What the hell?” Lance whispered. His eyes were suddenlydrawn down to his cheeks, where two dimly glowing marks were, prominently standingout the light pink against his skin. And his ears. They were larger than morepointed, like Allura’s.
Allura.
Lance froze after studying his appearance for far toolong. He looked… exactly like Allura. But why would he look like Allura? Unless…
Lance let out a startled scream, his chest fillingwith fear. He dropped to the ground so that he wouldn’t have to look at himselfany longer. He pulled his knees to his chest as panic welled up inside of him.He was barely aware of the scream still ripping through his throat, until someonepounded on the door.
“Lance? What’s going on? What’s happening?” Coran’s voicecalled through the door. Lance’s screams cut off into whimpers.
What had happened to him? Why did he look like that?
“Move out of the way!” Shiro’s voice boomed. There wasa loud crash as he rammed into the door, breaking it open. He stumbled throughand grabbed ahold of the counter to keep from falling over. Coran and Allura rushedthrough the door after him. Coran was the first to see Lance, curled up againstthe wall. Lance lifted his eyes to meet Coran’s, shooting him a desperatepleading look.
“Who are you?” Coran demanded to know. “Where’s Lance? What did you do with him!?” Allura tensed as she noticed the white-haired boycrouching on the floor.
“How did you get in here?” she asked sharply. Lance beganto cry desperately.
“It- it’s me” he babbled. “It’s me! It’s me, Lance. I’mLance! I swear I’m Lance” Allura took a threatening step toward Lance, preparingto demand answers, but Shiro stepped in front of her, blocking her from Lance.
“If you really are Lance, then—” Shiro shot a look atAllura. Lance was sobbing now, trying to hide himself in his arms. “Shiro, wehave to ask questions. We didn’t ask you questions and—” Her sentence trailedoff, the implication very clear. Shiro glanced at Lance, cowering on the floor, and then back at Allura. “If you really are Lance, then how did this happen?”She asked. “Lance is not Altean”
“A- Altean?” Lance stuttered, tears still streamingdown his face. He had been thinking it, but he didn’t understand how. Why.
“Yes. That’s what I said” Allura said, her voiceclipped. “Lance is not- not Altean…” her voice trailed off. She turned to Shiroand then looked back at Lance. Her eyes suddenly widened in realization. “Oh mygod” she breathed.
“What? Princess, what is it?” Coran asked with a frown.Allura covered her mouth with her hand.
“When he died…” she whispered. “I had to bring himback… It must have transferred over and turned him Altean” she said in disbelief.Coran shook his head.
“But that doesn’t make sense” he said. “You brought Shiroback and he isn’t Altean”
“But Shiro’s body didn’t die. His spirit was simply lockedaway in the lion. All I did was put it back where it belong. But Lance… He died.He stopped breathing, his heart stopped beating. I had to do more than justbring his spirit back. I had to bring his body back as well” While she wasexplaining this, Shiro crouched down in front of Lance.
“Hey, are you alright?” he whispered. Lance wasshaking as he continued to cry.
“I- I- I don’t understand what’s happening” Lancesobbed. Shiro settled down next to Lance and slung his arm around him.
“Shh… you’re alright” Shiro said soothingly. “You’realright. Nothing’s wrong” Allura was still rambling to Coran about how it waspossible. “Guys” Shiro said sternly to them. They looked at him in surprise, completely forgetting that they were even there. They quietly made their wayout of the room, leaving Lance and Shiro alone. “What are you thinking, Lance?”Shiro asked, saying the same things he did to calm Lance down when he came tohim in the middle of the night.
“I can’t—” Lance shook his head, causing a few moretears to fall down his cheeks. Shiro leaned over and wiped them away.
“Yes, you can” he said gently. “What are you thinking?”
“I- I diedShiro” Lance said, his eyes unusually wide and his mouth hanging open. He was feelinga combination of confusion, fear, and horror. He hadn’t processed his deathvery well. There hadn’t been time before, but now…
Now all Lance had was time.
“But you came back. You’re alive, Lance. You’re okay”Lance clenched his fists.
“I know but… what if I hadn’t” Lance said, tilting hischin up to look at Shiro. “I- I could’ve- what if I—” Shiro rubbed Lance’s armto try and calm him down.
“But you didn’t die, Lance. You survived. We bothsurvived. I never thought that I was going to escape, but I did. I know it wasscary. Terrifying, even. But you can’t lose faith in us, in your team. We’vealways got your back” Lance listened to his words and then sighed.
“I know…” he chewed on his lip as he rubbed his eyes. “You’reright” Something was still bothering him, Shiro could tell.
“What else is bothering you?”
“I look… I’m different now. I look like a differentperson now” he said, his voice small.
“That’s okay” Shiro said. “People change. And look” Shirosaid, brushing Lance’s hair out of his face. “We match” Lance let out a halflaugh half sob and leaned into Shiro’s touch. Shiro pulled Lance closer
“What if my family doesn’t recognize me?” he asked quietly, laying his head down on Shiro’s chest. Shiro had to strain to hear him. “Whenwe get back to Earth?”
“Lance are you kidding me?” Shiro laughed. “It doesn’tmatter how much your appearance changed, you family will always remember you”
“Are you sure?” Lance asked. Shiro tightened his grip onLance.
“I promise” he bent down and kissed the top of Lance’swhite hair. The corner of Lance’s mouth curled up and he closed his eyes.
“I love you” he said. Shiro looked down in surprise.
“I- I love you, too, Lance” Shiro said with a smile.

Voltron s6 thoughts and feelings(spoilers, mostly positive, none of that hate shit here)
SO OH MY GOD THAT FUCKING HURT BUT IT WAS SO GOOOOOD
so this is just gonna stream of consciousness okay
LETS TALK ABOUT HOW THEY GAVE LANCE A VULNERABLE MOMENT WHERE HE CRIED AND IT WASNT A JOKE THAT SHIT GOT ME i was so so happy about that?? Yea Allura comforted him and stuff and I was hoping it would be keith but also he and Allura grew close this season and I like their relationship as a friendship all ships aside because sometimes you need that?? like tbh I want them to have a punk level friendship someday like can you imagine that’d be so cute
i cried when they destroyed the castle of lions like i fucking cried
OKAY BLACK PALADINS??? OOOOOOOOF i was so tense thats probably the most tense I’ve been since the beginning of the Chroma Conclave arc in Critical Role like holy shit that was amazing and so well done
“you’re my brother, I love you” JUST THROW ME OFF A CLIFF THAT WAS SO GOOD the flashbacks of younger keith were so cute bless you crew for giving us that
Keith??? Is so pretty??? what the fuck I’m gay
The fighting was a little heavy this season and as someone who lives for plot and character development through dialogue i was kinda put off, but they still did a lot of characters justice
KEITH AND KROLIA BACKSTORY I WAS A MESS AND A HALF FUCKIN HELL that shit was amazing like I was so happy they gave us that
They didn’t kill Krolia thank g o d
KEITH IS LIKE,,,,,,,20 OR SOMETHING PHYSICALLY part of me is still shook about that but also like he got to spend two whole years with his mom and his space wolf reconnecting with her and that just made me so happy
his hair is so long and tbh I never want him to stop growing it out
WHAT IF WE GET PONYTAIL KEITH PLEASEEEEE I NEED IT
I CALLED IT I FUCKING KNEW IT I NEVER TRUSTED THAT SON OF A BITCH LOTOR okay so maybe I did for a little bit but thats good writing on their part they let us all get complacent with the paladins and then BAM HE’S A POWER HUNGRY PIECE OF SHIT
Shiro d i e d. Like, full on died. that was crazy and still has me shook
Lol we’ve been right about the astral plane since the beginning im dying
WHITE HAIR SHIRO WHITE HAIR SHIRO tbh if you think about it Josh was technically hinting at that with his little “spoiler” post on insta
Allura yeeted Shiro back into his body js
Ummmm Studio Ghibli hair WHO like that’s all I could think when Keith’s hair was whipping around him during the last ep
ALLURA THE REAL LIFE CLERIC bringing paladins back to life left and right
okay the dnd episode was so perfect lemme just say KURON LOVE DND SO MUCH???? WHAT A NERD??? But also me with the backstory and wanting to play the same class,,, His only redeeming quality I wonder if Shiro likes dnd that much
Allura being an archer was soooo good she was so excited
thank u dnd episode for never explicitly saying what gender Pidge’s character was just that they were a dwarf I take my representation where I can get it
Kuron using his full name for dnd is such a mood
still not over the fact that lance named his character Pike
WHEN KEITH WENT PARTIALLY GALRA IN THE BP EPISODE I ALMOST SCREAMED THAT WAS SO COOL
he got back in his paladin armor and I cried
Pidge and Hunk get to build Shiro’s new arm!!
new drinking game every time Lotor says something along the lines of “this couldn’t have been possible without you Allura” take a sip bc he said that so many times oh my god it was verging on hilarious
lol I recoiled at the Lotura kiss I don’t even hate the ship it was just a knee jerk reaction oml
I love that it took the mice telling Allura about Lance’s feelings for her to understand what a babe
I NEED FANART OF LANCE GIVING THE MICE A BATH LIKE THATS SO CUTE I’ll fukin make it myself
HUNK TOOK LEAD ON SO MUCH STUFF THIS SEASON MY SOFT BOI IS A LEADER LIKE THEY TRUSTED HIM WITH SO MUCH IM SO PROUD
Pidge doesn’t get enough credit for the hacking she does I half expected Lance to hug her after she disabled the virus she was so stressed this poor child let her rest
tbh give them all a break, THEY NEED DOWNTIME AFTER THAT
while I was a little sad that Keith didn’t get a lot of time to reunite with everyone, they were kind of on the clock so it makes sense story wise, and hopefully next season he will get some time to talk with each of them for a little bit
THEY’RE GOING BACK TO EARTH OH MY G OD LANCE IS GONNA GET A FAMILY REUNION IM SO READY FOR THIS ARC
Bless Coran in the last episode he was the comic relief we all needed at the moment but also him losing the castle was deep and it hurt
THERE WERE A BILLION SHIRO CLONES THAT SHIT WAS TERRIFYING
Not gonna lie, Axca kinda felt like Black Widow in Civil War with the amount of side switching she did; I want to know her motives??? And the other Generals??? Please??? i want an episode dedicated to them that’d be so cool like them trying to start over and stuff
WHEN THEY ALL BONDED WITH THEIR LIONS THAT LINEUP SHOT WAS DOOOOOPE ngl I loved lance and keith next to each other that was such a cool shot of them and the whole team
also where did Matt go? He didn’t go back with his dad so I guess he was off on another rebel mission? idk maybe someone ask at a panel where he went
same with the Blades like I guess they were off doing other missions and didn’t bother to check in oops
tbh, this season was awesome. Did we get all the interactions we wanted? not really. Was it kind of battle heavy? yea. But was there serious character development? H E L L YES. Even though there were a lot of Keith and Shiro centered episodes the paladins screen time felt more balanced, at least to me. Even though most of Lance’s stuff was angst about Allura I still feel like he got to grow as a person from it and he’s starting to become someone who comforts others and really be there for the team. All we need now is for them to reciprocate and support him when he’s feeling down. I cannot wait to see what the crew has in store for us and I can’t wait for them to get back to earth it’s going to be so interesting!!!
#voltron spoilers#voltron s6 spoilers#vld spoilers#lance mcclain#keith kogane#takashi shirogane#pidge holt#hunk garrett#vld allura#vld coran#this was such a good season#like i know some people are throwing hissy fits about alluralance and that klance was kind of non-existent#but y'all#take off the shipping glasses and this show is gorgeous

Alright, this time I think I wrote something a bit more in tune with this blog lol I know I’ve drawn them before but I wasn’t sure if I had ever written klance before so I gave it a shot :) Pining of course because this song is a gold mine ;)
A wave of heads did turn, or so I've been told My heart broke when I saw you kept your gaze controlled
"Well that's a lot." Keith deadpans. They're in the thick of the crowd of students rushing to get to classes and simulations. Somehow, they all find the time to stop and stare at him. Luckily the only person close enough to hear him is Hunk.
"Yeah, well, you did disappear after getting kicked out, lived alone in the desert like a hermit for a month as a weird campus urban legend, got beamed up to space, saved the galaxy, and returned months after we did. We're kind of old news now." He explains. "Also..."
"Yeah?" Keith looks up at him with a purely inquisitive expression and Hunk can't get himself to say it.
"Nothing."
Keith shrugs.
"See you in class, I guess."
"Yeah, see you!" Hunk's voice cracks at the end but Keith doesn't notice. All day it happens. It's like he's fly paper for eyes. In the hallway, in class, especially in the cafeteria where he might let himself get a little enthused by all the Earth food, as bland and packaged as it is. He looks for Hunk again but doesn't see him. They only have one class together at the end of the day and Keith was kind of hoping to see him before that, or to see anyone from voltron really.
It's not his fault, he thinks as he holds a staring contest with a group of old classmates until they back down. It's not his fault he got pushed out of voltron. It's not his problem the blade of marmora does things a little differently and they kept him a while after they were done needing him or needing to exist really. So what if he stayed behind with them while they closed down all their operations for good. So what if he got in some extra training with them, just in case. So what if he stayed with them even longer than that and partied a bit with them galra style. So what if he got fat.
Keith isn't that oblivious. He's been to space and he didn't come back with the others and he's fat now. Like, quite fat. Could take up two chairs if they'd let him fat. Instead he lets his bum spill out on either side while he sits at his tiny desk and learns a watered down mostly inaccurate history of what he was there for. He squeezes himself into the comparatively primitive seat bolted to the floor of the simulator and tries to not let that impede his score. He knows what he can do. He knows how to fight and he knows how to fly and he doesn't need this. It's been a day and already the desert sounds more and more appealing.
At least he doesn't have an unnaturally white streak in his hair and a robot arm now. But then again at least Shiro came back with the others and the others came back with aliens. That must have provided some sort of distraction. Keith has nothing.
It's hard to let go of the feeling he has that he's not wanted.
He knows that Allura and Coran are having all sorts of important meetings with all sorts of important Earth officials. He knows that Pidge is so smart they got advanced to pre-university senior classes. He knows Hunk's schedule and he sort of has an idea of what Shiro and Matt are doing maybe. He's not prepared for the last class of the day, for waving at Hunk only for his large friend to step aside and reveal a Lance. He's not prepared for Lance.
It takes a second and it lasts a second and it feels like a second but somehow Keith who has trouble with expressions, with tone, and with faces in general reads him perfectly. Hunk steps aside. Lance gets pulled in by the movement. He looks. He sees Keith. His eyes grow maybe half a millimeter wider. They go back to normal. Lance looks away. He actually or he pretends to look at his text book. He actually or he pretends to ask Hunk a question. He doesn't look at him again.
Hunk answers him and waves Keith over. Keith is weirdly aware that he's wider than Hunk by the way he has to maneuver around the desks and chairs between them. He almost knocks someone's pencil case to the ground. Lance doesn't see. He has to suck in to shimmy between a person sitting and another person's desk. Lance doesn't notice. It should be a relief. It should be embarrassing to begin with. It isn't and it isn't. Keith feels sad so instead he feels detached.
He sits next to Hunk. Keith's stomach pushes further forward too. Hunk is probably mostly muscles at this point anyway. Keith has to remind himself that he's strong too. He closes his eyes and pictures himself fighting, training, wielding his blade with pride. Those images get replaced with the faces of his fellow members, living and dead. The ones he celebrated with and the ones whose memory he toasted. The blade really went wild after they had their last ceremony. Like all the feelings they had been repressing in order to do good and be good came out and had to be numbed with copious amounts of food and alcohol. They did this intensely and they did this together. They did that so they wouldn't have to do it alone and weirdly. So they could move on.
Keith thought he had moved on.
Why won't Lance look at him.
If anything he could stare at him like everyone else.
Why is he so controlled?
