Hellođ I was wondering how would the skinless chicken-I MEAN Nathanael interact with Raphael's older sibling?đ
cw: minor spoiler dividers-credit: @kodaswrld m.list
nathaniel and youâŚ
â Ë・âare the epitome of a match made in hell! We have a body dissection loving maniac who breaks guns with bare hands and a sociopath whose father you buried for the throne that your brother now occupies. Of course, you guys get along like a house on fire.
â Ë・âsurprisingly have the time to hang out. You always find a way to forcefully squeeze yourself into his schedule, like dropping by unannounced during his night shifts so you can whip him away for a few minutes! The nurses and patients mistake you two for a couple all the time, something Nathaniel doesnât bother to clarify anymore.
â Ë・âshare what can almost be considered as a bond despite the chaos going on. Aside from Raphael, heâs the one guy whose company you somewhat enjoy and find amusement in. Youâre also the only girl who gets to spray deodorant in this scary manâs face and donât end up being slammed against the wall. Itâs a win-win! âŞď¸ ď˝Ľďž ď˝ĽNathaniel... begrudgingly acknowledges the influence you have on Glory Club. How a fragile-looking woman can command fear and respect without trying. He, though, still has a hard time wrapping his head around the mind-boggling jokes you blurt out sometimes versus the cruelty youâre capable of inflicting. One night, after a quick patient checkup, the Apostle found you in the hallway along with two of his men out cold on the floor, their hands and legs bent at all different angles. Then you just ran up to him with a smile, never elaborating on what happened. âŞď¸ ď˝Ľďž ď˝ĽYou... think Nathanielâs pride now might as well be his downfall. Heâs strong, heâs smart, and he has potential. But this is THE Peter weâre talking about. If that boogeyman is lurking around the corner and somehow still as unbeatable as he was 50 years ago, Nathanielâeven in all his evolutionary gloryâstatistically stands no chance of surviving. And if he is lucky enough to just barely make it out alive, the manâs ego is gonna be damaged for good. âŞď¸ ď˝Ľďž ď˝ĽďžÂˇ:・シďžďžď˝ĽâËâşâ§ââ˝âŻâžââ§âşËâď˝Ľďž ď˝ĽďžÂˇ:・シďžďžď˝Ľâ
âItâs so cold out hereâŚâ You tugged your legs underneath your chin and let out a loud yawn, wiggling your feet. âI thought the rainy season ended last week?â
Five centimeters away from you on the bench, Nathaniel leisurely sipped on his Americano. âHigh humidity levels,â he set the cup aside, âso your clothes might get saturated by the moisture in the air.â
âHuh, guess thatâs why Iâm still shivering in these 70D stockingsââ mid-sentence, your eyes widened when the guy suddenly took off his blouse and draped it over your lap. âThanks.â
Nathaniel just shrugged and picked up his drink again. Two nurses walked by and cooed at the scene, though you werenât sure if the attention was on you or him, or the playing-house act he had been tolerating for a while.
You scanned your surroundings: the hospitalâs courtyard was mostly empty at this point. A few elderly patients hung out in the right corner of a dimly lit cafeteria, doing their nighttime stretches. When you look up, a billboard on the side of the building greeted your eyesâa picture of an old-looking Peter with his back hunched. The bounty flashed beneath it in place of the contact number for donation: 7,6 Billion Won.
âKim SoonguâŚâ The words left your lips as an afterthought, but then you caught Nathanielâs jaws clenching in your peripheral vision with the coffee cup suddenly crushed to a pulp in his palm, a river of brown dripping to the ground.
The awkward silence didnât even last for three seconds before a hysterical fit of laughter left your throat as you clung to your stomach.
âHoly fuckââ snickering, you leaned against Nathanielâs side like you two were having a sleepover. âLook at the way you got your panties in a twist with just the mention of his name. Is he that good?â
Your slightly-closer-than-an-acquaintance furrowed his eyebrows and answered through gritted teeth. âBratâŚâ
âAnnoying too?â you mirrored his cocked brow with amusement, cheek leaning on his shoulder as you watched the guy slip off his beverage-soaked glove, âdidnât the stats say Soongu is just another D-rank killer though?â
âNot it from my observation.â Nathaniel huffed. âHe had some untapped potential. Having him on my team would be⌠beneficial.â
You tilted your head. âForâŚ?â
âTaking down Peter,â he looked a little irritated at your constant questioning, but ultimately decided not to show that frustration. Instead, Nathanielâs raspy voice took on what seemed to be a teasing note; his lips curled up into an easy-going smile as the man flicked your forehead.
âSo much for your plastic surgery idea, princess.â
âOwâ!â You squealed, touching the violated skin; he wasnât even using force and you could already feel a bump rising. âWhat do you mean? So it wasnât him?â
âItâs real skin from what I felt.â Nathaniel ran a hand over his hair. âTch, whatever. When he shows up tomorrow, Iâll definitely find out.â
Tomorrow. You tucked your legs further under your chin, eyes still trained on him.
âHyun Il.â
â?â
The Apostle turned his head towards you.
âYouâre 100% likely to die.â
âDoubtful, arenât we?â
You let out a giggle. âYou wanna hear me say it?â
Nathanielâs gaze hardened. âI will win.â
Cute.
A sigh left your lips as you stared up at the dark sky above. It was a relatively starless night, but there were still some lonely orbs twinkling if you squinted hard enough.
Some saw themselves as the sunâthe center of this universe with planets orbiting around them. Constantly striving for a new high. Yet there were bound to be limits. A wall in between. Something, someone who might just show up one day and render all of their efforts useless.
How incompetent we were in the grand scheme of things.
âŞď¸ ď˝Ľďž ď˝ĽďžÂˇ:・シďžďžď˝ĽâËâşâ§ââ˝âŻâžââ§âşËâď˝Ľďž ď˝ĽďžÂˇ:・シďžďžď˝Ľâ
"Planning to dig up his body?"
Raphael's comment earns a small smile from you. Taking your little brother's hand, you stand up from where you have been crouching on the ground for the last few minutes.
"Nathaniel doesn't need to be physically here to haunt me," you hum playfully while his fingers brush off the imaginary dust on your hair. "Jokes aside, he's cremated. I'm surprised to find out that could still work without the furnace blowing up; he's like a walking T vessel."
"MhmâŚ"
"Found anything at the scene?"
At your inquiry, Raphael's brows drawn together in a way that reminds you of Nathaniel. Then again, frustration doesn't have a second face.
"Tch, nothing at all." His grip around your shoulders tighten. "That bastard vanished without a trace."
All the killers dying⌠so that really was Peter's doings. You've seen the outcome from miles away, yet who is to say the result doesn't baffle you in the slightly? What Glory Club is dealing with here is no longer a human being.
"Hey, RaphaelâŚ" for a second, the face of an unfamiliar teenager pops up in your mindâblack hair, red eyes that hold an immaculate sense of authority, "do you think thatâŚ"
"Yes?" Your brother tilted his head. There's a lump in your throat that is suddenly too hard to swallow.
"Nevermind," as quick as that eerie hypothesis comes to be, you forcefully swat it away; a sharp edge to your smile, "let's get back, shall we? It's gonna start raining soon."

Kathy was right, a man will always want to be seen with his woman. No truer statement fitted Benny. After the first night he did everything to chase you. Showing up at the house, or your work, to make sure you were right to get home, or needed a ride. Even watching you as you grocery shopped with Kathy. It became so much that one night you just asked him; what do you want Benny?
His response; you.
You were shocked, surprised, excited and scared all wrapped up in one chaotic ball. You asked him why you? What made you so special. He looked you in the eyes, point blank and asked why not? That stumped you. There were so many reasons why it shouldnât be you. But in that moment, you couldnât think of them. The holding gaze Benny had on you, all the negative thoughts, or doubts disappeared. How did he have such power over that part of you?
Maybe it was the way he pursued you. Not taking no for an answer. Not caring who saw him with you, talking to you, wanting you. The determination in this man was commendable. That was why you gave in. No man has ever pulled you in for a kiss so fast. A hungry, possessive kiss. His large hands holding onto your waist securely, like youâd run from him. The way his tongue dominated your own, had your knees buckling. When Benny pulled back, he enjoyed the kiss drunk look on your face. Telling himself to do that to you often.
Though you were happy and excited for what you had with Benny. You found it hard at times to fully let yourself loose itself. Such as when Benny would kiss you stupid. Hands running over your body. Usually started with your chest, down your sides to grasp your hips. Or grope your behind. His movements were desperate and dominating. But you would shift, or move away. Worried that sooner or later Benny would find a part of your body that he doesnât like. So, you kept as much distance as you could. But it was hard with his need to touch you.
Monday was an extra day off, making up for a double youâd done Friday. Kathy was at work, leaving you to do your share of the house work. Before you were done you heard that familiar rumble of an engine coming down the street, before it stopping out the front of your house and the engine cutting out. You smiled softly knowing Benny was here to see you. Like he did every day youâre off, along with nights. Yet he hadnât stayed the night, or been in your bed.
You made it to the front door just as Benny leant in to knock, of course surprising him. But then he shot you an amused smirk.
âI could hear you two streets away with that thing" you mused leaving the door open, and returning to the kitchen to finish scrubbing some pots.
âThat thing is my bike" he retorted closing the door after entering the house. âAnd you like my bikeâ.
You laughed from the sink, a sight that greeted Benny as he leant in the kitchen doorway. The soft sound of the radio on in the background, which you were absent-mindedly moved too. Oh how Benny enjoyed watching your body move, swaying side to side. Those curves he enjoyed feeling, before youâd shift or move away. Cutting him off from the simplest joys. He had thought about it for the last week, and the only thing he could put it down to was you being self-conscious. Afraid there will be a part of you he wonât like. Which is wrong.
To Benny, your body was a supple, curvy feast for his eyes and hands. If youâd give him the chance, he would run his hands over every part of your body. His lips, tongue and teeth not fair behind them. He would worship you till you couldnât take it anymore.
Moving from his spot, Benny crossed the room to stand behind you. His arms wrapping around your waist, and burying his face in the crook of your neck. You giggled when his stubble brushed your skin, while you fidgeted in his hold. Yet Benny made sure you werenât getting away from him this time. You protested and whined, making it about needing to finish the pots. But really you were worried today would be the day heâd find something about your body to dislike.
âStop fidgitin' baby" Benny sighed against your neck. âI just want to feel yaâ.
You quieted down, movements halting. You racked your brain for an excuse, a reason, to get out of his hold. But you couldnât think of one. Shakily you continued to scrub the pot before you. While Benny remained wrapped around you. Happy to finally get to feel you against him. But he could tell you were still holding back, and he knew he had to nip it in the butt once and for all. So Benny started to think of a plan, one that would show you just how much he loved your body.
Starting by soft, sloppy kisses to your neck. His hands then moved over your stomach, which had a little chub to it, but not enough for a tummy. You stiffened when his hands roamed that area. Which was a worry of yours. But Benny didnât seem to notice, or if he did, he was being nice. Slowly his hands headed up, over your ribcage to cup your breasts. His large hands encased each mound, slowly caressing them over the sweater you were wearing. With the first gentle squeeze, a small sigh slipped from your lips, a little surprised mixed with a touch of pleasure. Yet, you were still fighting those self-doubts.
Benny planted a firm kiss to your neck, before moving and nipping your earlobe. âYouâre so beautifulâ Benny growled lowly in your ear. âEvery inch of you...â
He moved his hands back down your stomach, and to your hips. Holding them firmly he drew his head back, before he turned you around to face him. Benny's lips met yours in a hard kiss, hands slipping to your rear. Firmly he squeezed before drawing you close to him. Your chests pressed together. Benny pushed his tongue into your mouth, dominating it. The way his tongue took charge, stroking your tongue in a guiding manner. He wanted you to know you were everything.
You pulled back from the kiss with a small squeak when Benny picked you up, his large hands cradling your behind. Those delicious arms of his flexing with strength as he held you up. You protested, saying to put you down. That you were too heavy to lift, youâd hurt him. Those words soon died on your tongue when he shot you a dark, angry look. Resting you against the sink, Benny held your gaze firmly before speaking.
âSweetheart, these arms were made to pick you up. What kind of man would I be if I couldnât carry my girl?â his tone was low, gravelly but deathly serious. Sending a delightful chill down your spine.
You moved your hands to his shoulders, gripping his denim vest and t-shirt. You felt embarrassed by his hold on you, but his strong words lightened you a bit. That flutter in your stomach back because Benny wanted to show you, you were just like everyone else. Feeling pride in him, you leant in and gave him a quick kiss. Which made him smile. It was a small step forward to you getting over your self-consciousness, and Benny would take it.
âI want you" he said softly, looking you deep in the eyes. âI want all of you".
God, he knew what to say to make you a mess. If he keeps going, youâd go limp in his arms. You know if he keeps talking like this, you might finally believe it all. You crushed your lips to his, hand moving to hold the back of his head. Your lips moved together in a fever, tongues colliding and caressing in a rush. You might be a worry wart, but you wanted this man to help you get over it or learn to love yourself through his eyes.
Pulling back, Benny hoisted you up in his arms, a loud squeak leaving your lips this time. Which made you both laugh. Before he carried you from the kitchen, and up the stairs to your room. Entering the room, Benny made sure to close the door with his foot. He placed you upon the bed, a tad ungraceful, resulting in him leaning over you. Again you both laughed, before sharing a quick tender kiss. What should be a heated moment, seemed to have touches of clumsy and laughter. Which seemed to ease you.
Pulling back, Benny removed his denim vest and then his t-shirt. Giving you the opportunity to gaze at his chest. And what a sight to behold. Starting at his pecks and then down his abs. Noticing where you were looking, Benny ran a hand over his chest, down and then up, a knowing smirk on his full lips.
âLike what ya see?â He asked with a chuckle, and a wink.
You blushed, but nodded your head.
âGood" he stated, leaning back over you again, eyes boring into yours. âBecause I know Iâm gonna like what Iâll see".
Benny's hands moved to the hem of your sweater, his fingers sliding under as it rode up. You stiffened, holding your breath. He kissed your lips, softly telling you all the right words before moving his hand higher, fingers skimming over the flesh of your stomach. The pads of his fingers were rough against your soft skin. His hand warm, almost scorching you. Yet the briefest touch of his ring was cool. You relaxed but shuddered at the feelings he was bringing forth in you.
With a bit of shuffling, Benny removed your top, tossing it behind him to rest with his vest and t-shirt. You were a sight, slight laboured breathing and laying before him in your bra and slacks. His eyes feasted on the revealed skin. You squirmed a little, wishing you could cover yourself. But you stopped the moment he leant down and placed a kiss between your concealed breasts. The eye contact he was giving you â intense and determined â took your breath away.
âSo beautiful" he muttered against your skin. âAnd I havenât fully unwrapped my treat yet...â
You felt the heat pooling in your lower half. His words, actions and eye contact the trinity to your arousal. God, if this was what it would be like to fool around with Benny, youâd have done it sooner. Next Benny moved his hands to undo your bra, and rid you of it. Right away one of his large hands cupped a breast, the warmth of his hand hotter than your skin. His lips kissed the other breast, then his teeth grazed it. You groaned, arching your back wanting more.
And Benny happily gave it to you. His lips touching the erect nipple, a chaste kiss. Next, he sucked it into his mouth, full lips plush to your skin. The more he sucked your groans turned to a glorious moan. Music to Bennyâs ears. He then switched breasts, sucking one while fondling the other. All the while Benny watched you, enjoying how he was making you feel. The moment his name left your mouth, he groaned as he sucked harder. Which in turn turned the volume of your moan up.
Satisfied with lavishing your breasts with attention, while driving Benny crazy, he released them. Of course he wasnât going to leave it there. He moved on to your slacks, unbuttoning and zipping them before removing them without a trouble. Now you lay before him in just your panties. Instinctively you drew your legs together, arms moving to cover your chest.
But Benny was quick, hands on your legs, moving them apart for him to crawl between. No way to hide that part from him. Not after being such a torture to him. His manhood was hard, uncomfortable in his jeans. He could so easily free himself, push your panties to the side and fuck you into the mattress. But he wouldnât â couldnât â do that to you. Your body had to be worshipped, tended to with care and devotion.
âI love your outfits" Benny racked his eyes from your panties, up and over your stomach and chest, to look deeply into your eyes. âBut I love you like this so much more".
Itâs funny, but you believed every word he said. He was genuine and honest. Slowly you removed your arms, placing them at your sides and holding onto the bedding. He smiled, pleased you trusted him.
âGood girl" he praised, hands skimming up your sides. âI want to worship this body with my hands, my tongue and my teeth. But I desperately want to be inside you. Do you want that, baby?â
Slowly you nodded, your face hot from embarrassment.
He pinched your side gently. âI want to hear it. Say you want it".
Biting your lip you took in a shaky breath. âI-I want it" you muttered.
Benny shook his head. âGotta be louder...â
âI-I want it!â your voice was loud and clear for Benny to hear.
He smiled before moving in to kiss you deeply once more. Nipping your bottom lip before pushing his tongue in. It was all hunger and want. He then moved down your neck and chest, sloppy kisses and bites. He licked from under your breasts and down over your stomach. You sighed with content, watching him with hooded eyes. This would be when Benny would move his hand lower, fingers exploring the jewel between those enchanting thighs. But he really couldnât wait. He had to be in you, fucking you till you couldnât take it.
Managing with one hand, Benny freed himself from his jeans and boxers. And â with a little time â was able to get them over his hips and far enough that he could kick them completely off his legs. Pulling back from you, Benny moved to your panties. He should have pulled them down your legs, like anyone would. But by now, he was a little impatient. Swiftly he tore them from you, extracting a small surprised scream from you. That made Benny laugh.
âSorry, I really canât wait anymore, baby" was his amused words to you.
With some moving around, mostly opening your legs wider, and getting himself into place, things were back on track. In this position Benny could see you all, how perfect your pussy looked. Holding his cock, Benny leant in, running the tip through your folds. You softly gasped, he looked to you as he did it again. The moment he nudged your clit, you groaned. Over and over again he did it again, sometimes even slow, just to get noises from you.
This was all good and fine, a feast for his eyes of you on display and your reactions. But he needed more. Slowly Benny pushed the tip into you. Inch by inch he watched himself sink into you, before bottoming out. Youâd taken him so damn well. And he voiced that. Making you blush, which he found beautiful. You needed to know how good you were for him, and how good you were doing.
Leaning in Benny once more kissed you. This time it was slower, tender even. Showing you that he was still there, and would go easy on you. Even if his words said otherwise. He was doing this for you, showing you how much he wanted and needed you. In and out of the bed. How you were his. This was the final way to claim you as his girl.
âYou feel so fuckin' good" Benny sighed against your lips. âYou ready, baby?â
You nodded, and he let that slip this time. But he will teach you to answer him, how much your words mean. Benny slowly pulled back, until the tip was just inside, before thrusting back in. He kept his pace slow at first, letting you get use to his size and the intrusion. You felt so damn good, and it was getting hard for Benny to not just lose himself. Your back arched, noises of approval leaving your lips, spurring him on more.
Youâd slept with a few men before but they were nothing like Benny. For them it was all about them. What they liked. How they felt. That they got off. None had ever taken the time and care like the man above you. Benny was taking care of both of you, but had put you first of course. You felt that coil in your stomach tightening. His word and actions playing a big part in your arousal. Plus Benny was exceptionally good to look at. He was the total package.
When he hiked up your leg, and snapping his hips, Benny somehow managed to thrust deeper. Hitting that spot that was sinfully pleasurable. The moan it ripped from you should have made you blush and want to die, but it felt just so good. Again Benny thrusted, hitting that spot. Getting the same reaction, only the moan seemed a little more desperate, needing more.
Leaning over he moved faster â harder â needing more of those reactions. Your hands moved from gripping the bedding, to grasping onto Benny's shoulders and back. His name falling from your lips when he hit that spot over and over again a few times. God how he loved hearing his name coming from your mouth like that.
With every thrust you got closer to reaching your climax. That coil in the pit of your stomach getting tighter and tighter. The groans and noises Benny was making just added fuel to the fire. The gruff, deep voice of his lost in this moment between you both. The way he would look at you with those stormy blue eyes, the fire and passion there shining back at you. This man was perfect with attention and affection.
âI-Iâm c-close...â you stuttered, voice raspy.
Benny groaned in approval. âCum for me baby".
With a few more harsh, deep thrusts â hitting that spot over and over â finally pushed you over the edge. Clutching at Benny, nails digging into his skin, back arched you moaned as you came. Feeling you tighten around his cock, Benny thrusted a few more times, movements getting more sloppy. Before finally hitting his peak. Buried deep within you Benny came, his seed filling you up.
You both stayed how you were for a few moments. Sweaty and heavy breathing messes. You looked up at Benny, face warm not only from your activities but shyness washing over you. Benny, on the other hand, looked down at you with admiration. He was absolutely transfixed with you. How beautiful and perfect you were. And those words tumbled out of his mouth, shocking you.
âW-what?â You asked softly.
Now Benny was the one going shy. âShit...I said that out loud?â
You nodded, remaining quiet.
He put his head down, feeling embarrassed. âI-itâs true though, youâre beautiful and perfect...â
Your chest fluttered from his admission. You might not see it or believe it when you look at yourself in the mirror, but the man above you did. A small, warm smile graced your lips as you moved a hand to the back of Bennyâs head. Running your fingers through the tuff of hair on the back of his neck, you coaxed him to look back to you. Seeing how happy you were, it made him smile in return.
âThank you" you said with joy.
Wanting to not ruin the mood, but Benny wanted to hold you close, he reluctantly removed himself from you. And fell beside you on the bed, bringing you to his chest as he wrapped you up in his arms. Placing a kiss to the side of your head, Benny repeated his words, wanting you to remember them. You moved your head back and pulled him in for another kiss, showing him just how much he meant to you.
âI think I could get use to bein' your girl, if that was what I get every time weâre in bed" you boldly stated.
He chuckled before moving his lips to your ear. âBaby, not just in bed will I do that to you".
Numerous places crossed your mind, all the possibilities that lay ahead for you in Benny's presence. You were thrilled but also a little embarrassed, but a good kind of embarrassed. This man might be the death of you. Or the man of your dreams.

knee deep in the couch seat and you're not eating me out | Logan Howlett/Wade Wilson, 1.8k, T
@poolvertober: Day 4 â Casual
Summary: Is it casual now? TW: Brief mentions of canon-typical body horror/violence and Logan's alcoholism but nothing descriptive. Rated because butts and Wade's vocabulary are involved lol. Read on Ao3
A/N: Title is a bastardization of Chappell Roan's Casual, because I obviously had to for today's prompt. (I am so sorry Ms. Roan /o\) Un-beta'd and I deeply apologizeâI just wanted to get this posted before I chickened out again đ
đ Inspired by this fanart because I could not get it out of my head lmao.
â¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đ
Logan has only been living with Wade, Althea, and Dogpool for a few months but thereâs a few things he picks up on.
One: Never question what Althea does. Ever.
Two: Mary Puppins is a living vacuum and will put anything in her mouth given the chance.
Three: Wade can have really, really bad days.
If Logan sees Wade with the Deadpool mask on the moment he wakes up, he knows heâs in for at least five hours of the bitchiest man heâs ever had the displeasure of meeting. He doesnât blame Wade in the slightest for having bad days (the fuck kind of hypocrite would that make him?) but it doesnât mean heâs just gonna take it if Wade is being particularly annoying.
âBub,â he says carefully, warningly, his voice low and gruff, âthe only reason why Iâm not skewering your skull is because I just finished mopping the floor. Get your fucking face offâa me.â
Wadeâs got his face buried in his chest, nose tucked firmly in between the crevice of Loganâs pecs, his hands petting the skin there. He, predictably, shakes his head no.
Logan had spent the day cleaning the apartment, tossing away old garbage bags and tidying the random piles of stuff littered everywhere. Wade avoided himâas he usually did on bad daysâleaving a room once Logan entered so neither of them would bother the other. Logan didnât think twice about stripping off his shirt once he finished mopping the living room, already sweaty from half a dayâs work.Â
Of course, thatâs when Wade decides to pop out of Alâs bedroom where he and Mary were hiding, immediately faceplanting into Loganâs chest as Loganâs dragging out the vacuum.
âMmmno,â Wade hums, the sounds turning into one word. âGotta recharge my battery. Your lovely mountains help with that.â
Logan growls, unsheathing his claws on his right hand. âWade, Iâm fucking serious.â
âPeanut, Iâm fucking serious,â the moron parrots back, but thereâs an edge to his voice that Logan recognizes is Wade being serious for once. Wade snuggles further into his chest, hands now kneading the flesh there, calloused fingertips occasionally brushing Loganâs nipples. âJust let me have this,â Wade sighs.
(Logan pointedly ignores the urge to preen at Wadeâs easy affection and praise.)
He closes his eyes, slowly breathes through his nose, and counts to ten to stop himself from stabbing Wade through the temple.
Just because he can stab the dipshit doesnât mean he should, he reasons. He just finished cleaning the floors and Althea would appreciate less blood stains on them, he reminds himself.
He rolls his eyes when Wade hums into his skin, mumbling nonsense that Logan doesnât bother trying to parse out. Though heâs annoyed (very annoyed), Loganâs surprised that he doesnât mind the contact as much as he thought he would. God knows when was the last time he had this kind of skinship with someone, how long itâs been since someone touched him without wanting to pick a fight.
Fuck. Logan must be getting soft from living here.
With a final hum and deep breath, Wade lifts his face from Loganâs chest to meet Loganâs eyes, chin now digging into Loganâs sternum. Despite the mask, Logan can tell that heâs smiling beneath the fabric.
âThanks for the assist, honey badger!â Wade chirps. âI feel much better now.â
He grunts, rolling his eyes again. âWhatever. Now get the fuck off me.â
Wade pouts but relents, pulling away from Logan without a word.
Shit, Logan already misses his touch, what the fuck.
He doesnât let it show on his face, jerking his head in a direction thatâs vaguely out of the way of the vacuumâs direct path.
âCan I get back to vacuuming now, princess?â he taunts, but even he can hear that he doesnât mean the insult.
âExcuse you!â Wade gasps dramatically, a hand lifting to clutch his chest. âThe only princess here is my little Princess Puppins!â
At the sound of her name, the dog dutifully comes skittering into the living room with a bark. Logan sighs at the hair sheâs already leaving everywhere.
(For a dog with almost no fur left, the little she does have scatters around the apartment, unending and always in places Logan thought he already cleaned.)
Wade picks up Mary and partially lifts his mask to immediately cover her face in kisses, cooing nonsense and praise. With the bottom half of his face exposed, she licks into his mouth (fuckinâ gross, but whatever), and Wade looks visibly more at ease than he did not even ten minutes ago.
Logan tugs the cable of the vacuum to move it out of the way, only turning it on once Wade and Mary are back inside the bedroom.
And if he turns his back to hide the smile tugging at the corner of his lips, well, thatâs no oneâs business but his own.
â¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đâ¤ď¸đ
The mission went sideways faster than Wade could make an innuendo about it. There were casualties that didnât need to happen, body parts Deadpool didnât need to lose, places where Wolverineâs claws didnât need to go. The official X-men (that is, the losers that lived at the X-Mansion) handled the PR shitstorm headed their direction while Wade whisked Logan and himself away from the pesky news cameras already on their heels.
The two of them came home to an empty apartment, and once Wade was dumped into the pull-out couch he and Logan shared, Logan took off. Wade probably shouldnât have let him leaveâknew all too well the kind of spiral one could fall into after a shitty mission like thatâbut he also knew better than to push Logan before the man was ready.
Besides, he had six fingers, half a leg, and a nose he needed to grow back.
Logan, the asshole, only shucked off his own uniform once they arrived home and didnât help Wade change before he left, so Wade hobbles around like a ballerina unwilling to dance on two legs as he strips his suit. He manages to finally get an old shirt and a pair of black short-shorts on before he falls over, ass hitting the floor with a fuck! Blind Al arrives home when he does, Mary Puppins in tow after finishing her nighttime potty. Alâs only acknowledgement of Wade is her cursing out him and Logan for leaving her to tend to the damn dog she didnât even ask for, but the lack of heat in her words tells Wade the truth.
âLove you too, Al!â he calls out.
âGo fuck yourself, you uncircumcised dickhead!â she barks back as she shuffles towards her room. âAnd donât forget to have someone look after the dog next time!â She slams the door behind her.
Wade manages to get up and grab a spare mask that doesnât have a hole around the nose, slipping it on as he tumbles back onto the pull-out. Even though Blind Al is blind and canât bask in the glory that is a nose-less Wade Wilson, he still doesnât want to see his own ugly mug in random reflections around the apartment. Mary tucks into her doggy bed at the corner of the room and falls asleep while Wade lies on his stomach and spends time on his phone, scrolling aimlessly through different apps as his body regenerates.
The fact that glueing himself to his phone means he can pick up the second Logan calls him is just a bonus.
But he doesnât even have to worry about that because Wadeâs only grown back four of his fingers and part of his shin when Logan surprisingly returns home. He is also surprisingly not as shitfaced as Wade thought heâd be. Heâs still definitely drunk if the way heâs grumbling to himself and shuffling around is anything to go by, but he doesnât smell like he went through an entire barâs supply of liquor, and he doesnât look near as bad as when Wade first brought him to the TVA.
âWelcome back, peanut!â he greets, and Logan only grunts in response. As Logan begins to change into his clothes for bed, he says, âI gotta say, Iâm impreââ
But before Wade can finish his sentence, a now t-shirt and boxers-clad Logan faceplants into his ass.
Twisting to watch with wide, bewildered eyes, Wade goes still as stone as Loganâs hands cup his ass cheeks. Heâs pretty sure Logan doesnât need his heightened senses to hear Wadeâs heart with the way itâs trying to beat out of his chest.
Heâs drunk heâs drunk heâs drunk and his face is in my ass, what the flying fucking fuck is happening?! is all Wade can think.
Before he gets the chance to say anything, Logan grumbles, âCan ya fuckinâ relax, bub?â His words slur together like he can barely make his tongue move. âYer fuckinâ stiff as a board âere and Iâm tryna use ya as a pillow right now.â
Wade forces himself to calm downâdrunk or not, he doesnât want to be known as a horrible pillow.
âPeanut,â he says carefully, âas ecstatic as I am that our relationship has suddenly escalated to rimming, why is your face buried in my ass while I have clothes on?â
It takes a moment for Logan to answer, but eventually he murmurs, âMârecharginâ my fuckinâ battery, bub.â
Oh, fuck him, Wade thinks, his traitor of a heart fluttering at this hot mess of a man. How dare he throw Wadeâs own words back at him like this? That is ridiculously unfair.
Wadeâs still stewing when Logan lifts his head to glare at him. âYa got a problem?â he asks with a frown, the clearest heâs sounded since coming home.
Wade immediately shakes his head. He may be ticked that karmaâs working herself beautifully right now, but heâs not about to waste the opportunity of having The Wolverine using his ass like a pillow.
âAbsolutely not!â he reassures Logan with a grin, desperately hoping he doesnât sound like heâs about to flip his shit. âBut I was hoping weâd be naked when we finally hit third base.â
He has to joke about it, he has to. Or else his own stupid feelings will choke him to a death that would be more merciful than whatever the hell this is.
âNah,â Logans says around a yawn, head falling back down to Wadeâs ass. âJust wantâcha like this.â Wade tries and fails to steady his rapidly beating heart when Logan moves to wrap his arms around his waist.
At the silence that follows, he thinks Logan passes out on him, but just as he turns around to focus on his phone again, Wade hears him.
âJust...â Logan whispers, voice unguarded and overwhelmingly soft, âjust wanna hold ya fer'once...â
Wade swallows the lump in his throat. He doesnât have the freaky super-hearing Logan possesses but heâs pretty sure he hears that.
Heâs drunk, heâs drunk, heâs drunk, he reminds himself, it doesnât mean anything.
He turns back to his phone, hoping that Logan is actually asleep, which means he canât see the blush covering Wadeâs entire face.

âââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
⡠the first encounter
it was the month of april, the start of spring, and your favorite month of the year mostly because you enjoy gazing at the cherry blossoms on your way back from school. you wore a mid-length puffer jacket since the weather was a bit chilly, holding your hands up to your face to see your fingertips have become slightly reddish. you sigh as you bury your hands back in the pockets of your puffer as you tried distracting yourself from the cold by talking to your classmate beside you.
"soo.. about the cherry blossom festival, i was thinking we could do something involving our basketball team since you know, the captain is in our class of course.." she giggled, acting giddyly similar to a child.
"well, I've had 5 people telling me the same thing and i'll repeat my answer one last time, I'll think about it okay? but there's a big chance it's not going to happen." you exasperatingly sigh as the girl beside you inevitably left after realizing you wouldn't agree to her request.
as the class president, your duty is to arrange class activities, one of them being the cherry blossom festival happening in a few weeks time. there wasn't a particular reason why you denied all the requests, you just weren't very fond of the boy. he was always late to class, sometimes even skipping entirely to play basketball. his behaviour took a toll on your status as class president, teachers who couldn't get through the boy would often scold you instead.
you thought this calming walk back home couldn't get any worse until you were met face to face with the devil himself.
he wasn't walking home with his friends like he normally would, he looked back when he felt someone's stare burning holes on his back, his eyes with yours almost immediately.
as if on cue, a 10 thousand won bill (around 7 usd) fell from one of the swaying cherry trees, landing perfectly in between you and him. both of your eyes followed the bill as it glides down to the concrete floor, your eyes going back and forth from the bill to the boy in front of you.
CRASH!
"Ow!"
feeling a head collide with yours, you let out a painful hiss while holding your head with one arm. slowly you look up to see the boy in front of you mirroring your movements. you were both knelt down, one hand on the dollar bill with the other clutching your heads.
"Aha! my hand is under yours, that means the 10k is mine." his words woke you up from the trance you were in, widening your eyes when you realized your hands were on top of his own. you quickly pulled away but that didn't mean you were backing up.
"yeah but that's because you hit my hand!" you retorted back, showing him the red mark on the back of your hand.
"it was just an act of self defense i'm sorry, um.. what if we just split it, I'll buy you something from the cafeteria?" the boy rubbed the back of his neck nervously, stretching out his hand that held the dollar bill.
you thought to yourself for a moment before replying,
"fine, i'll forgive you under three conditions." you stood up with your arms crossed. the boy in front of you following as he nodded erratically.
"one, you can never be late nor skip classes from tomorrow onward and explain to mr lee why you've been late this entire time. two, your basketball team has to participate in this year's cherry blossom festival as the representative of our class. and three, you owe me a carton of strawberry milk." you smirk proudly, seeing the color drain from the boy's face.
"okay okay, what if we skip number one and two and i'll buy you TWO cartons of strawberry milk? how does that sound?" he pleaded.
"fine then, i'm telling the counselor you hurt a fellow student." you started to walk back to school but before you could take another step, a hand held your wrist to prevent you from walking further, just as you expected.
"okay, fine. jeez i didn't know the class president was this stern." he smirked almost flirtingly even though you didn't get the hint.
"i have a name you know, it's y/n." you turn to face him again, annoyed because in the school almost no one calls you by your real name and for some reason it made you think no one actually knew your name.
"alright y/n, i'm kim gyuvin and it's nice to meet you too." he grinned similar to a puppy, extending his hand waiting to be shook by yours.
you looked at his hand, back to his face, and to his hand again. after a few seconds of contemplation, you lightly extended your cold hand which was quickly greeted by the warmth of gyuvin's.
just for a moment there, you felt a foreign feeling of butterflies swarming your stomach.
------------------------------------------
⡠a few months later
"KIM GYUVIN!" you bang on his apartment door, looking at the time on your phone before stepping away from the door.
"I'M UP! I'M UP!" like usual, the door slammed open, revealing a disheveled gyuvin in his school uniform that was horribly crinkled. his eyes were barely open and his hair was stood up, obvious that he had just gotten up from bed.
"did you sleep in your school uniform?" you tilt your head, looking at him from head to toe with a concerned look. it was your daily task to wake up gyuvin every morning ever since you found out that the both of you lived beside each other, obviously neither of you ever noticed considering gyuvin's 'always late' agenda and your 'always early' one.
"no.." you roll your eyes as he sheepishly smiles.
"there's still 30 minutes, go take a shower, you stink." you forcefully push the boy back into his apartment, shutting the door behind him. you could make out a bunch of whines coming from the opposite side, meanwhile you couldn't help the small grin from forming on your face.
after 10 minutes, the door opened for the second time, unveiling a less disheveled gyuvin. his hair fluffed up giving him a boyish look, the tiredness in his eyes was now replaced with a glint of excitement, his clothes seemingly less crinkled and his puppy-like smile on full display.
god you thought you had just fallen in love for the millionth time.
gyuvin slung his arms around your shoulder almost putting you in a headlock, "I know i'm terribly handsome but we might be late if you can't stop staring." he gave you a smug look in which you returned with a disgusted one.
"whatever."
you both walked to school as usual, his arms weren't slung around you anymore since there were other students around and gyuvin didn't want them 'getting the wrong idea'.
arriving at school on time was something gyuvin wasn't used to but he didn't mind if it meant he could spend more time with his best friend, you (of course).
"you're coming to my match this afternoon right, class prez?"
'class prez' that was the nickname gyuvin gave you ever since you both met, he would rarely call you by your real name, only if things were serious which barely ever happens anyways.
"yeah, if i can." you respond nonchalantly.
"you always say that, but at the end of the day you always come." he gave you a small grin which made your cheeks turn a pinkish hue.
"whatever."
"whatever, whatever, whatever, do you ever say anything else?" as the both of you continued bickering, the boy's contagious smile made you break out into a grin as well. to other people, both of you looked like two kids madly in love with each other. as clichĂŠ as it sounds, it was painfully obvious to everyone except you and gyuvin.
------------------------------------------
school had just officially ended for the day. Your classmates bid you goodbye, everyone in a hurry to see the upcoming basketball match between your school and the neighboring school. of course, gyuvin had left earlier in order to fulfill his duties as team captain. currently, you were fulfilling your own duties as class president with your assistant, park gunwook.
"y/n why do we have to do this? can't we just do this tomorrow, pleaasee i really wanna see the match!" the boy beside you pleaded, having his head ontop of his folded arms, looking at the window where you could see students holding banners hurrying inside the school gym where the match was held.
"if you stop whining we might be able to sort these in time so we can see the match, gunwook." you reply sternly, quickly going over the files the teacher assigned you.
"don't lie y/n, i know you wanna skip and watch your loverboy too." gunwook looks to you with a teasing glint in his eyes that you didn't take notice of.
"my what? stop fooling around and help me sort these!" though your voice was a bit shaky, it seemed to convince gunwook enough for him to start helping you.
as time went by, you skimmed over the endless stack of files, eyes growing visibly tired and red. on the other hand, the 'assistant' beside you had already fallen deep into dreamland after helping you with one or two files. you couldn't help but listen to the ongoing match inside the gym and the faint sound of cheering, praying you'd finish these soon enough to join in the bleachers.
after a while, you finally finished sorting the needed files, rubbing your eyes tiredly. you dropped the files in front of gunwook with a loud thud.
"AHH YOU SCARED ME!" he woke up in a cold sweat, holding his hand to his heart.
"take these to mr choi, i'm leaving now." you quickly pack your bags, leaving the boy alone in the classroom still recovering from the shock you gave him.
------------------------------------------
inside the gym, it was break time for both teams and gyuvin's eyes couldn't help but scan through the crowd of people on the bleachers, not seeing the face he was looking for, he sighed in defeat as his mind went back to the conversation he had with you in the morning.
><
"i'm serious gyuvin, i might not be able to make it today, i have a lot of things to do, so i apologize beforehand."
"it's okay, don't apologize, it's not your fault. just..come by if you can."
><
his mood was somewhat down since the start of the match, leading his team to worry about the boy.
"hey man you ok? a little bit more and we can catch up, don't give up now!" his teammate, ricky spoke up while slinging his arms around the brunette's shoulder.
"no it's not that, ricky." gyuvin removed the arm around his shoulder, slumping down onto his seat, head hung low.
"ohhh i know, it's because his 'class prez' isn't here yet." his other teammate, yujin chirped in an attempt to ease the tension, earning a nudge from ricky.
"dude don't say that!"
"what? say what?!" yujin held his lower stomach where ricky had nudged him as they both continued to bicker.
gyuvin wasn't paying attention to the two boys in front of him, more focused on his phone which he unconciously keeps checking. he had hoped for a text message from you, confirming if you were coming by or not. but no matter how long he waited, the text never came. eventually, the horns had blasted, signalling the start of the final round to decide the winner of the match.
------------------------------------------
meanwhile, arriving at the basketball court, you ran to the bleachers, taking up the last remaining spot on the railing as your eyes scan the court in front of you. you were out of breath from all the running you did to get here, chest heaving up and down as your eyes frantically searched for the brunette.
as gyuvin was getting into position, his eyes trailed to the bleachers one last time. to his surprise, the first pair of eyes he had met was yours. the frown on his face was suddenly nowhere to be seen, his eyes lit up and he felt a warm feeling engulf in his heart.
hurriedly, you scribble down 'kim gyuvin!' on a page of your sketchbook, holding it up for the boy to see. gyuvin's smile got impossibly bigger upon seeing his written name, his eyes lit up as he shamelessly waved to you which made his teammates look at him, dumbfounded and also slightly relieved to know their captain was back.
"see, i told you if y/n comes he'll be back to normal." yujin smirked as he nudged ricky, who seems to be unbothered by the younger male, his focus mainly on the pair before he eventually drags gyuvin to his designated position as the referee signalled the start of the game.
throughout the final game, you were incredibly stressed out while your eyes moved back and forth from the score board and to the brown haired boy. both teams were already incredibly tired except for gyuvin who looked like he was playing in the first round.
"pass! pass!"
the brunette yelled from across the court, after obtaining the ball, he took a risky move which made you and a few others jump from their seats. the scores were exceptionally close and time was limited, meaning if he managed to score this 3-point, the team is guaranteed a victory.
for a split second, the crowd went silent as gyuvin shot the ball. just as the timer ticked zero, the crowd erupted with cheers and the alarm went off signalling the end of the match. gyuvin had succesfully scored a point, making his team the ultimate winner.
the boy felt like he was on cloud 9 with so many people calling on his name and his teammates hurdling around him with smiles on their faces. but most importantly, there you were on the bleachers, smiling at him and giving him a thumbs up which he found utterly adorable. after the cheers had slowed down, gyuvin excused himself from his teammates, running to the locker and changing his clothes as fast as he could.
when he got out, he was met by your presence almost immediately.
"congratulations! sorry i couldn't come earlier." your smile wasn't as big since you tried to keep your cool in front of hin.
gyuvin didn't respond for a while which worried you, but you were surprised to feel your feet up in the air as two arms lifted you up and spun you around. you held onto his shoulder for balance basically hugging him as you could smell his faint cologne making you blush provusely. the red on your cheeks didn't go unnoticed by the boy but he only shrugged it off thinking you were just excited for him.
after many complaints from you, gyuvin put you back down. he smiled ear to ear as he rubbed his nape nervously.
"sorry, i'm just happy you came." you couldnt bear the eye contact with him, your eyes searched for anything other than the boy.
"by the way you look really tired, was there a lot of work?" he continued, cupping your cheeks with both of his hands, forcing you to look at him. it was something he often did and it made you feel butterflies as his two hands felt warm on your cold cheeks.
"y-yeah i had to do everything by myself since gunwook fell asleep halfway, it's fine though i'm not that tired." you tried to reassure him, circling your hands around his wrists to pull him away but it only made him squish your face harder which made you let out a whine.
"but your eyes are so red! hurry, i'll take you home so you can get some rest." finally letting go of your face, he takes one of your wrists and lead you to the gym where all his friends are waiting for him.
"gyuvin i feel fine, i wanna stay here longer please?"
"why do you want to stay here-" his words were cut short by an unfamiliar voice.
"kim gyuvin!"
from behind the boy appeared a girl who looks to be one of your underclassmen. it's no doubt gyuvin is popular among seniors, but classes below you weren't an exception either.
gyuvin turned around to face the younger girl and you followed suit, leaning in a bit to listen to their conversation.
"can i help you?" gyuvin spoke in a polite manner.
"gyuvin oppa, can we talk outside i have something to tell you." the girl fiddled with the hem of her skirt nervously, you already knew where this was going and gyuvin did too.
"i'm sorry i-"
"please? it's really important it wont take long.." the girl pleaded, holding on to the hem of his shirt and the sight almost making you puke.
despite gyuvin's hesitation, he looked back to you and mouthed a 'sorry' before being rushed off by the girl.
------------------------------------------
after gyuvin left you let out the biggest sigh, having such a popular best friend was hard and not to mention your enormous crush on him made it even worse.
essentially you wanted to stay at school longer to spend time with the best friend who just left you, but since he's no longer here you find a spot to sit on the bleachers. you remember the two cans of soda in your backpack, now having no one to share them with.
as you pop open one of the cans, before you could take a sip, you felt a presence beside you.
"hey, can i sit here?" a familiar voice caught your attention, shen quanrui aka ricky who is your classmate and one of gyuvin's friends.
"oh, um sure." you took your backpack from the seat, putting it on your lap and taking a sip of your soda.
"soo.. y/n right? i heard a lot about you from gyuvin."
"haha yeah.. you're ricky right? i also hear about you from gyuvin."
an awkward silence flew in the air for a solid 10 seconds.
"do you know what he's doing right now? i've been looking all over and i can't find him." his question reminded you again why you were talking to him in the first place, he left cause some girl is gonna confess to him, should you really say that?
"well, a girl pulled him outside, said she has something important to tell him and you can guess the rest." you chuckle bitterly.
"it's hard to be friends with someone so popular isn't it?" somehow his statement brightened your mood a little.
"yeah, that's exactly what i was just thinking." you finally had the courage to lift your head and look at the blonde beside you.
ricky was also semi-popular, his looks are well known to everyone in the school and his personality wasn't so bad either.
"so he really left you alone here? what an asshole, maybe i should beat him later." he put his hands into fists and started punching the air like a boxer.
"oh please don't, i think the girl he's talking to right now has tortured him enough." ricky laughed and you followed suit, feeling more comfortable as time went by.
"do you like soda?"
"well it depends, i only like it when it's a 1+1 deal." you chuckle, handing him the can of soda in your backpack since yours was almost finished and you wanted to have a soda buddy to drink with.
"thanks, i like it even better when it's free."
"oh please, you owe me lunch tomorrow."
------------------------------------------
meanwhile outside of the gym,
"oppa, i really like you- no! i love you please go out with me!" the girl stretched out her hands, holding a thick envelope which could only mean one thing.
"i'm really sorry, but i'm not interested in relationships right now. and i don't want your money." the boy politely bowed, pushing the girl's hands back.
"please! i'll double the money if you want to, just go out with me once, i really like you please give me one chance!" gyuvin has had a series of confessions to him, but this was his first one that seemed a bit extreme.
"i can't, i'm sorry but i-"
"oppa, do you like someone already?"
"what?" the question made gyuvin stop in his tracks.
"you do don't you? is that why you don't want to accept my love? who is it just be honest!" the younger girl was now sobbing uncontrollably which fueled panic in gyuvin who didn't know how to properly comfort the girl, especially being the reason shes crying in the first place.
"no i don't like anyone, but i'm sorry i can't go out with you please stop crying.." he nervously patted her back in an attempt to soothe her but it had only made her cry louder, hence he stood and did nothing at all.
"oppa, you like y/n don't you?"
"what? no.." gyuvin felt a lump in his throat, his head suddenly flooded with thoughts of you, his best friend.
"so you do.. lucky them." the girl wiped the last of her tears before cowardly running away, leaving gyuvin dumbfounded with a new thought clouding his brain.
'do i like y/n?"

Itâs Been a WhileâŚ.
Tobio Kageyama x Female! reader (she/her pronouns)
Warnings: slight angst, swearing, mostly fluff
WC: 3.5k
AN: blah idk what to think about this. It stems from an idea I had a dream about but this is one of those times Iâm doubting myself. I low key want to write a part two but I also just wanna bury it đ
Summary: Years after letting go of the love of your life and starting anew, a change provided by a friend allows you a glimpse into your old life and a chance to reconnect with the person you lost.
âĽď¸ âĽď¸ âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸
âSo, I guess this is it huh?â You murmured, trying your best to hold back the tears that were threatening to spill as you stood in front of your now ex-boyfriend, Tobio Kageyama.
âYN listen, I-â
You put your hand out, stopping the words that were about to surface. You couldnât stand to hear them; you couldnât bare listening to those words again when you knew what was about to happen. If this was going to end, it was going to end on your terms.
âTobio donât. Please, letâs just say our goodbyes.â He sadly nodded, his head going down as you stood there, the awkward silence filling the air.
âSo, you leave tomorrow morning for Italy, right? Are you all packed?â You asked as Tobio rubbed the back of his head. It was a nervous habit he had developed, something he did when he wasnât sure how to react.
âUhh yeah pretty much,â he responded, the silence still penetrating the air. You had tried your best to distract from the obvious but the obvious was beginning to suffocate you.
âOk well I guess this is goodbye then,â you stuttered, trying to contain the tears. The years of memories flooded back, from the first day you met to your first date and everything beyond. You loved Tobio but you knew love wasnât enough to keep him here with you. When he was first recruited to play in Italy, your first thoughts werenât how proud you were of him or how this would only further his career. The only thought that filled your mind was how youâd ever bare letting him go.
âYeah I guess so,â he whispered still standing in front of you, not wanting to hug you just yet. Hugging you would symbolize what he didnât want to happen, it would symbolize the end of one of the best things that heâd ever had in his entire life. When he was first accepted to play in Italy, all he could think about was how amazing this opportunity was for him, how awesome it would be for his pro career in volleyball. When he shared the news with you, he hadnât thought through the logistics of a long-distance relationship. The last thing on his mind at that time was how youâd be able to make it work. Heâd never imagined it wouldnât work.
You lunged forward, throwing your hands around his neck as you held him tightly for one last time, the tears youâd been holding in slowly seeping past your lids as his arms encompassed you, pulling you tight against him. You felt so amazing, so perfect against him and he hated it. He hated how this would be the last time heâd ever feel this serene.
You pulled back first, tears flowing down your cheeks as you looked up to him with a small smile, âIâll be watching you, ok? So, no slacking off.â
He smiled a little and nodded, watching the tears stream down your cheeks, wanting to do nothing more than kiss them away. You slowly backed away, creating distance from him, your legs feeling so incredibly heavy as if trying their best to keep you planted.
He watched as you finally turned around, your arms going around your midsection as you hugged yourself and walking away and right out of his life.
*A Few Years Later*
Your phone rang as you checked the called id, sighing and swiping your finger across to answer the call.
âWhat do you want now Kuroo?â You ordered as a surprise gasp sounded from the speaker as he finally spoke.
âYN how could you hurt me like this! I thought I was your favorite person?â
You smiled and shook your head, ânot by a long shot Kuroo but you are in the top 20. Is that good enough?â
Kuroo chuckled, replying, âIâll take it! But listen, I called for a specific reason this time. Iâm putting together a sort of reunion and I need my favorite photographer ever to help me!â
âThen why did you call me?â You chuckled as Kuroo laughed in response.
âYN, you know how much I love your work and you really are the best in the business!â
You sighed again, knowing Kuroo was trying his best to be flattering, âok so whatâs this reunion? Like a class reunion or what?â The silence filled the call after you spoke as confusion filled your eyes. You pulled your phone away to check if Kuroo was still connected.
âKuroo-â
âItâs for a volleyball event YN,â he finally responded as your body stiffened. You hadnât photographed a volleyball event since Tobio had left a few years ago, shifting your passion in a different direction.
âKuroo I canât-â
âYN please just hear me out, ok? I know you donât photograph sports anymore but please, Iâm desperate here. There isnât anyone who can capture the game like you can. Iâve pulled a lot of our high school alumni into this game, and I think it would be awesome if youâd consider it. Kenmaâs sponsoring and promoting the event and Asahi is helping with the uniform design. Yachi is also helping with marketing and design. Imagine if we had YN LN, the famous photographer and Karasuno Alum to photograph the event!â
When you first met Kuroo years ago, you were a first-year manager along with Yachi. Youâd always thought he was a great leader and organizer as well as a person who could flatter almost anyone if he tried. He channeled his personality perfectly into his career in sports promotion, able to secure deals and push the volleyball league further than it has been in decades.
You looked over to your bookshelf, your eyes landing on the only memory youâd kept from your relationship with Tobio, a photo from his last game with the Schweiden Adlers. You walked over to it, picking it up and rubbing your finger gently down the side of the frame. In the photo you were looking at the camera, smile wide as you hand rested on Tobioâs chest. His eyes werenât on the camera but rather on you, his large smile and eyes completely focused on you as if nothing happening around him mattered at all.
âYN you still there?â
âIâll do it,â you bluntly spoke, an auditable and loud âyesâ coming from the speaker as Kuroo continued to talk.
âYou wonât regret this, Yn!! Iâll text you the details and we can meet in my office soon to discuss what youâll be doing! I really appreciate this Yn and I owe you big time!â
You didnât really hear much Kuroo spoke about, your eyes still focused on the photo as you began to wonder if this really was the right choice.
*A few weeks later*
âWe just need headshots of all the players who are participating who are currently in Japan, the rest are going to submit their headshots to me,â Kuroo directed as you prepared your camera, making adjustments to lighting and the background as you half listened.
Exasperated, you mindlessly nodded for the 50th time as Kuroo continued to ramble, his nerves on edge since heâd returned from his trip overseas to secure several more players from the âmonster generationâ to play on the reunion game.
âWell, if it isnât my favorite girl!â A voice boomed as you turned around to see Atsumu, Bokuto, Sakusa and Inunaki walking into the studio. You smiled, placing your camera down as you went to greet the guys.
âWell, if it isnât one of my favorite setters,â you joked as Atsumu pulled back from the hug, mouth agape as you chuckled at his reaction.
âCome on Yn, be realistic, he isnât even in the top 10 on your favorite setters list,â Sakusa grumbled, walking to the corner as Atsumu glared at him.
âHey hey hey thereâs my Yn!â Bokuto shouted, hauling you into a huge hug as you squealed, your feet leaving the floor as he swung you around.
âBokuto donât break her!â Hoshiumi snapped from behind him, Hirugami, Romero and Heiwajima trailing after.
âHey guys!â You cheered, letting go of Bokuto and running to hug them.
âItâs so good to see you again Yn! We were surprised to hear you were involved with this,â Romero remarked as you nodded.
âSurprised but happy!â Hoshiumi added as he hugged you.
âWell, Kuroo begged me to help so I really couldnât say no,â you smirked as Kuroo narrowed his eyes.
âGeez Yn stop making me seem so desperate!â
âYN doesnât need to make you seem desperate when you definitely are desperate,â Kenma stated, strolling in behind the teams as you snickered.
âKenma you really werenât needed you know!â Kuroo growled as Kenma shrugged his shoulders and headed to take a seat in the corner.
âI heard Oikawa and Hinata were coming too,â Heiwajima remarked as Kuroo confirmed.
âThey are going to be flying in next week along with Ushijima and Kageyama.â
All eyes shifted to you at the mention of Kageyamaâs name. You really couldnât blame the guys; they knew you and Kageyama had ended on good terms but also that your relationship had been a sore subject and ultimately the reason you left sports photography.
You had to admit, when Kuroo first mentioned Tobio, a fact heâd somehow forgotten to mention prior to your meeting, youâd thought about dropping out, the idea of seeing your ex-boyfriend and the only man youâd ever loved extremely painful. However, you couldnât ignore the small part of you that was also excited to see him in person. Sure, youâd watched every game you could, every interview possible. Youâd watched the Olympics and even bought a jersey to add to your collection, something youâd never ever let anyone see.
âItâs fine guys,â you explained, âreally Iâm happy to be a part of this.â
Everyone nodded, not wanting to push the topic. While the guys had always been chaotic and kind of childish, they did care for your well-being, and they loved you.
âNow we letâs get these photos done!â
âAlright, the greatest first!â Atsumu beamed and Inunaki laughed.
âYou should be last Sumu, youâll probably break YNâs camera!â Everyone laughed at Sumuâs expense as you felt the joy of being reunited with the people you once spent so much time with.
*2 weeks later*
You arrived at the stadium, camera and press badge in hand as you adjusted your dress. Youâd done your hair and makeup, wanting to look nice and professional for the event. This would be the first game youâd photographed in years, and you wanted to make a good impression. The crowds roared as you entered the gym, the bright lights hitting you as you looked around to see reporters, tv crews and officials fill the gym floor.
Kuroo waved at you as you walked over to him, noticing how truly huge the event was.
âYou look great Yn! Absolutely gorgeous!â Kuroo yelled, the noise on the stadium floor loud as you blushed as his compliment.
âThis is amazing Tetsuro! You really pulled this off!â Kuroo beamed with pride as you looked around, the photos youâd taken of the the players printed on banners that filled the stadium. Youâre eyes trailed until they landed on Tobioâs banner, his face exactly as you remembered it. You smiled a little, looking around at the crowds.
Daichi, Suga, Asahi, Yamaguchi, Tsukki and Yachi all waved as you smiled and vigorously waved back, excited to see your old teammates.
You saw Kenma in his box, probably waiting for Kuroo as he gave you a chin lift and returned back to his phone. You noticed others from high school in the stands as you stood in the grandness of the court. Youâd truly missed this feeling.
The whistle blew as Kuroo squeezed your arm and excused himself. You took your place on the side of the court as the teams were finally presented.
Team A parades out first, their flashy style of green and black jerseyâs adding just the right pop of color. Oikawa and Hinata smiled and waved at you as you snapped their pictures, capturing the best angles you could.
Team B followed shortly after, their gold uniforms giving the perfect amount of class and sophistication. You wanted as Ushiwaka, Bokuto and Hoshiumi strolled across the floor, Bokuto frantically waving to the crowd as you giggled at his boisterous spirit.
Your eyes shift to Joffe who followed and to Inunaki right after. You were checking your camera before looking up, your eyes dead locked on Tobioâs as he stopped mid stride, his eyes widening as of in shock.
Tobio knew he would see you here, after all, it was a big part of the reason he agreed to join in this reunion game. He had thought about you almost constantly since leaving years ago, hoping heâd once again get the chance to see your beautiful face. Heâd been preparing for weeks, going over how heâd casually walk by you, nod his head and try to act cool. Heâd even prepared a few things to say to you if the opportunity present itself.
However, all his past thoughts and plans went straight out the window upon seeing you. You stood there, more breathtaking than heâs ever imagined. Your hair and makeup were flawless and your outfit fit your body like a glove. His mind drifted back to all of the times heâd made you laugh, all the times youâd spent together since meeting in high school. His heart hammered thought his chest, his jersey feeling as thought it was rippling from the aftershock.
You stood there, a small smile on your gorgeous face as you lifted your camera to snap his picture. Your eyes watered upon seeing him, something youâd known would probably happen.
âKageyama moves dude!â Yaku whisper shouted as Kageyama snapped back to reality, his brain processing that he was holding up the line of his teammates.
âOh sorry-â he apologized as he glanced forward and made his way to the starting line. His mind emptied of every thought heâd had, filing instead with your imagine as it implanted itself in his brain. At the greeting line, he turned to see you now staring back at him, the same sweet smile he loved plastered on your flawless face.
You couldnât help but smile at him. Tobio was almost exactly as youâd remembered him. Sure, he was a little bit bigger; heâd obviously gained some muscle and matured since living in Italy but deep down, he was still the same boy youâd remembered from high school. Your heart fluttered just watching him, the memories of all your time spent together flooding your brain.
âWeâd like to welcome you all to tonightâs special match. Team A vs Team B, a mash up of Japanâs best!â The announcer rang as the crowds cheered. You quickly made work of snapping as many pictures as you could, moving from side to side to capture the menâs forms prior to the game.
Youâd been known as a legend in the sports world, your talent for photography starting in high school and only furthering afterwards. Your photos made the cover of many Japanese magazines, thanks to help from Akaashi as well as covers world wide. Noya would often send you texts, showing you how heâd send your photos all across the globe on his travels. Even Hinata had snapped a selfie or two with your magazine covers.
Tobio watched as you worked, following your every move as he prepared to warm up. He loved how passionate you were about photography. Since moving to Italy, heâd continued to follow your career collecting magazines that features your photographs and following your instagram page. He never interacted with you but that didnât mean he didnât order prints and support whatever projects you partook in, donating money to fundraisers you sponsored.
As the warmups began, you took your place at the side of the court. You watched as Hinata, Goshiki, and Romero all spiked. Balls slammed on the floor as the memories of your days photographing volleyball continued to flood your mind. You chuckled as you remembered how many times youâd nearly been hit or how many times Tobio would pull you off the court because he didnât trust someone not to harm you.
Heâs been protective of you even in High school, Hinata often teasing him about how he treated you like you were made of glass. In hindsight, Hinata probably knew better than anyone that his best friend was in love with you way back in high school.
You turned back to see Kageyama holding a volleyball, his focus still on you as you exited the court for the teams to switch. He shifted his attention back to the spikers as he took his place near the net. You were caught in the moment, his beautiful and perfect set gliding through the air as Bokuto slammed it into the opposing court, the crowd cheering him on. Tobio hadnât changed, not one bit.
The game started as you began maneuvering the court, trying to capture as many shots as possible. The energy was palpable as you moved all around. Set after set, you found yourself drawn into every single play, every single serve and spike. This is why you loved volleyball.
At the end of the game, you tried to compose yourself, coming down from the high of an incredible match. Youâd managed to run through nearly three memory cards, taking well over a thousand pictures of just the game itself. The guys took pictures with fans after the match as interviewers and Tv personnel flocked to their sides.
However, your job was complete, the requirements set forth by Kuroo full-filled. You walked over to your camera bag and began to disassemble and put away your equipment. Unbeknownst to you, someone had followed you.
Tobio stood a mere two feet behind you, his eyes tracking your bent over form as he tried to gather up the courage to speak to you. Heâd never had a problem speaking his mind, never an issue telling people what he thought but for some reason, his mouth was incredibly dry despite drinking an excessive amount of water.
He watched as you fiddled with your camera bag, the same bag heâd gifted you for graduation years ago. It was your favorite color and just the right size. His chest filled with pride knowing you were still using it, that youâd still been keeping him close.
While he was staring, youâd turned around, startling and grabbing your chest in surprise at the giant, 6â2â setter standing behind you.
âGood god Tobio you scared me!â You laughed, your hand over your chest as you tried to regain composure.
âI-damn, Iâm sorry. I didnât mean to- I was just wanting to⌠hi YN,â he finally stuttered out as you smiled up at him, his beautiful blue eyes lighting up with joy.
âHi Tobio. Long time no see!â
âYeah itâs been a while,â he mumbled, rubbing the back of his head, âIâm glad you could make it.â
âMe too! You did amazing out there. Iâd forgotten how different seeing you playing in person was!â You added as he lowered his hand down.
âSeeing me in play in person?â
âYeah silly, I told youâd Iâd be watching you. I meant it. Iâve watched every game,â you answered. He knew you wouldnât lie to him but just hearing you say it, after wondering for years if you were watching, it made him feel incredible.
âHey Yn, Iâm in town for another week, would you maybe consider having dinner with me?â He inquired, desperately hoping youâd agree to meet with him.
You eyes widened at his question. You hadnât been expecting this, hadnât been expecting him to ask you to dinner. Youâd thought he might say something to you but never this. Before you could answer, he continued.
âIf not itâs ok, itâs just that, well Iâve been thinking about you since I left, and Iâd really like to catch up. But if you donât want to-â
âIâd love to Tobio,â you replied as he jerked back a little.
âWait really?â You giggled at his reaction as you nodded in confirmation.
âIâve been thinking about you to, and Iâd love to go out with you.â He smiled down at you as your beautiful doe eyes met his.
âHey Kageyama! Come on man we are going out to celebrate!â Hinata shouted as he waved to you. You waved back as Kageyama looked conflicted between you and Hinata.
âGo and have fun, ok? Text me tomorrow and we will make a plan to meet,â you assured him, squeezing his bicep as he smiled back and nodded. He turned, running towards the locker rooms before stopping and turning back. He ran back up to you as you watched in confusion before being swept up into a tight hug, your body instantly relaxing as you hugged him back. Yep, you definitely missed this.

I would like to hear you rant about Nick Stokes if you ever feel the desire to do it đ
iâm not drunk and it probably would be more fun if i was (in fact Iâm pretty hungover) but here we go lol
you know itâs funny i think this is the first time since 2006 iâm having trouble thinking about what to say about him. i know iâve alluded to the thought of him even hurting me right now but he still seems to persist in my dreams, in ideas, and i have still been (attempting) writing him in difficult situations because heâs a character that has this unwavering optimism and spirit thatâs just too easy to break though the pieces always find a way to get back together. and outside of his sheer hotness i think thatâs what drew me to himâi wish i didnât delete it but i once wrote this long thing about why grave danger is my favorite episode and itâs because outside of the buried alive trope (which this episode introduced me to at an impressionable age of 12? 13?) that episode made me fall in love with a man who was buried, eaten, driven mad to the point where he put a gun to his chin but he never pulled the trigger even though he got dangerously close to it, he would have waited until the last breath was going to leave his body before the full squeeze because he just has this quality about him with an insurmountable amount of strength and perseverance and while we donât get a lot of aftermath what we do see is him sure, having some moments here and there where heâs still visibly suffering in that underground hell and his anger at it reveals itself in one of the best cases of the show, he still has this outlook that heâs alive. he lived. he survived and heâs not going to take it for granted. the choice of âi livedâ by one republic as his swan song in the series sums it up i think as well as my personal favorite for him, âsecond chanceâ by shinedown. nick had every right to be depressed, full of rage, to give up and he doesnât. do i think he does repress a lot of those feelings though and the pain he had buried in himself can tend to surface in small explosions of anger? oh hell yes and i mean we even saw him fall apart in season nine which i think was long overdue at that point which just as equally made me admire again that strength because i think it does take a lot of strength to show weakness and not just that nick is just such a down to earth and genuine guy that while yeah repression happens and it may take some digging to get him to open up and you have to be someone he trusts because if he doesnât, heâs not going to let you see that vulnerability because the scars of his heart are so deep and so old and started at much too an early ageâbut heâll reach out. he wonât ask for help but heâll let you see whatâs going on. but itâs okay he can handle it, heâll say and while iâm definitely not as strong as he is i relate to his attitude on therapy tbh
but his suffering isnât all that i love about him and doesnât define who he is. who he is, is a passionate, empathetic man who breaks the jock-type mold you would initially think heâd fit intoâeven with his frat boy past and slight immaturity with his bets with warrick at the start and the ignorance that sometimes gets him into trouble, he grows and blossoms into that bearded badass at the end of the series, bent but not brokenâwhich ok that goes back to The Suffering a bit đ
#work just interrupted me and is giving me a mild anxiety attack so thereâs my soap box.#nick stokes

Thereâs a voice in your head screaming at you to not do it. Yet as another knock sounds at the door, your feet carry you involuntarily. You know who it is, thereâs no need to peep through the keyhole but you canât resist it. You canât resist taking this one glimpse at him before heâs inevitably going to break your heart again.Â
âHi,â you greet as you open to door. âCome in.â
This has become routine at this pointâDamiano texts âU up?â. You tell yourself to ignore the message, to blow him off with some excuse, yet every single time you cave just as the second text comes in.Â
âHey, baby,â he greets in return, presses a rough kiss on your mouth.Â
You used to dream of these kisses, dream of his mouth on every single inch of your body. You even imagined the gentleness of them once. But whatever this isâbeing fuck buddies, friends with benefits, whatever you want to call itâthis has slowly sucked the life out of those dreams.Â
Yet you canât stop going back to him.Â
âYouâre thinking about something,â he frowns and for a moment his voice is laced with genuine concern. âAre you not in the mood? You know we can always reschedule this,â he points between the two of you.Â
A hysterical laugh bubbles up in your chest and you have to actually turn around to get a hold of yourself. Reschedule this as if itâs just another appointment; clinical and unavoidable.Â
âNo no,â you smile at him and hope he doesnât notice your dead eyes. âWork has been a bit stressful lately, thatâs all.âÂ
Itâs an easy lie and you know heâll never question it. He hardly knows what you do for work, thereâs a one-in-a-million chance heâll actually want to know whatâs stressing you out at your job.Â
âWell then,â he grins, âyou know whatâs good for stress.â
And thatâs how it starts this time. He trails kisses down your neck, makes his way down to your cleavage and tries to leave a few hickeys there. You close your eyes and imagine a different realityâone where he mumbles I love you after each kiss, one where he tells you how obsessed he is with you, how he canât keep his hands off you. One where heâs so gentle with you that you might as well be made of glass.Â
But thatâs not what this is. Damiano has always been very clear about what this is.Â
Youâve got the motions of this memorised. You take each otherâs clothes off; leave a trail of them to the bedroom. Despite the maelstrom of thoughts in your head, your body betrays you again and again. It always reacts to his touch, always craves more of him. It wants him never to let go.
But thereâs always a ghost in the room; the spectre that is âthe other womanâ. He thinks youâre unaware of her but lately, it seems youâve spent more time thinking about her than youâve thinking about him. He longs for her, you long for him and yet you canât let go.
Is she the other woman? A voice chides in your head and you fake a moan to cover up the gasp.Â
Even when heâs buried inside you, you know youâre not the one heâs thinking about. Youâre never the one heâs thinking about; itâs always her, itâs always been her. But he canât get her, so his consolation prize is you.Â
Even when his face is tucked in the crook of your neck, itâs her body heâs dreaming of. Only a fool wouldnât notice how her name is always on the tip of his tongue, just fighting to get out.Â
âDami?â you ask once you lay side-by-side, panting and catching your breath, âwill you stay the night?â
His eyes widen a bit and then he laughs awkwardly. âYou know I canât, baby. Iâve got, uhâŚThomas wants to show me something.â
âOf course,â you smile.Â
Itâs always Thomas or Ethan or Vic, itâs never you though. He makes a move to get out of bed and suddenly youâre hit with a barrel of conflicting feelings.Â
You want him gone. You want to beg him to stay. You never want to see him ever again. You want to wake up next to him every day.Â
As he starts to get dressed, you grab the robe thatâs hanging on the bedpost. This is the part you dread the mostâthe aftermath. You try not to seem too eager for him to get out. If he lingers even just a littleâŚ
âThat was fun,â he smiles and you can already feel the awkwardness radiating off of him. None of you knows how to say goodbye yet your reasons for it could not be more different from each other. You hold the door open for him, smile a tight-lipped smile, go along with the motions when he gives you a goodbye kiss.Â
He takes two steps towards the lift, then stops and turns around abruptly. This is it, you think, heâs reconsidered. He wants to stay.Â
âCan I see you again tomorrow?â he asks and your heart dies a gruesome death for the millionth time.Â
Just set me free, you want to scream at him, why wonât you just set me free? Instead, you nod and force a smile.Â
âTomorrow works for me.â

i donât wanna keep this conversation going cause everybody has their own opinion, but last thing iâm gonna say. sorry, SR if this going back and forth.
from taylorâs songwriting we can tell that karlie wouldnât have just âfound another womanâ. they are madly in love anon. they just clicked right away and had an unmatched attraction, you donât just give that up like that. have you listened to The Great War, karlie had many opportunities to leave, but she chose not to cause she LOVES taylor.
also if you look in taylorâs discography as i said, hits different, question, dancing with our hands tied, etc etc thatâs a person who is at ease with themselves when it comes to that specific thing. âyou said there was nothing in the world that could stop it/ i had a bad feelingâ
regarding the fake marriage, i get jerk is a criminal but i donât get why would karlie at this point leave jerk and have another beard.. because maybe jerk was for her more of a secure, long term beard.
you see, not all celebrities love a long term beard, they just love to change and keep the wheel going. taylor was like this, but that was because she wasnât in a stable relationship, she needed a long term beard to fit the love songs she would write about her hidden relationship so that people wonât try to know the truth. plus she wanted to bury her older âserial daterâ reputation. and she successfully did.
so maybe karlie just felt this is suitable for the long run for her and taylor.
saying âwhy would karlie do thatâ makes me feel like you havenât listened to taylorâs last four albums! đ
also donât forget how loud taylor was during lover then after the masters situation happened, she crawled into a hole again. do you think karlie has anything to do with that delay? it was all about taylor, not karlie.
also do you think karlie likes to be called a traitor, piece of shit, a crook who was caught etc etc? like what makes a human being want their reputation to be ruined except that they are in love and they have no other choice.
karlie had to burn herself to some degree to protect taylor.
taylor is a BIG entity. she is a brand and a company. i know she makes it look simple and fun, yet she is A WHOLE brand, anon.
karlie also is, but come on, is she on that level? ofc not.
also to the âbrought jerk to the 1975â do you realize that they do that to make it look âlessâ questionable. taylor would have calvin around in so many places when karlie would be there.
plus beards hang out cause they are tied to a contract, anon. she canât just ignore him. we wish, but karlie was signed to jerk before taylor.
also, iâm sure she had a ârenewâ moment and she did it cause there was no way theyâre coming out and they just wanted to keep the image stable. it also makes karlie worlds away from taylor cause she isnât bearding with an actor or musician. there would be very little chance that they could be in the same room.
also if taylor and karlie had plans of having a kid and it would be karlie who would get pregnant, she needs to be in a long term relationship to convincingly take that step with a beard. she wonât just do it with an artist she met 5 months before.
iâm pretty sure the jerk situation felt like the worst best choice for them to take so many step behind the scenes.
itâs fucked up, but itâs why they had.
all in all, iâm sure karlie has her fears, but iâm 1000% convinced she is more at ease with herself and would just take the leap, you know why?
cause she went with the fake feud plan and wasnât scared it would make her lose support. i think she can face it.
ALSO âi should not be left to my own devices, they come with prices and vices, i end up in crisis/ i wake up screaming from dreaming, one day iâll watch as youâre leaving/cause you got tired of my scheming, for the last timeâ
âyou would break your back to make me break a smileâ
âlisten.. i hope i never lose you hope it never ends (..) baby iâm so terrified of if you ever walk awayâ
âiâm a mess, but iâm the mess that you wantedâ
âwhatâs a life time of achievement if i pushed you to the edge but you were to polite to leave me and do you miss the rouge who coaxed you into paradise and left you there?â
âi cut off my nose just to spite my face and i hate my reflection for years and yearsâ
i can go on and on, but those are some of taylorâs lyrics that scream âsorry i put you in that situationâ and you know what? itâs okay if taylor isnât ready, itâs fucking frightening, i understand. also karlie loves her and wants to support, so good for her.

Are the flowers counted?
Rating/Warning: G/ None
Genre: Friendship/eventual romance/fluff/humor
Summary: For the first time in 100 years, Phyllida's Flutterby bushes will bloom at Hogwarts. This is an exceptional event which, by chance of the calendar, falls on Valentine's Day.
A/N: Written for the r/HPHogwartsMystery Valentine's Fan Creation Event 2022.
Prompt: Floral Fancy/ >1000 words
I should have posted this on Valentine's Day... đđ
âIâm going to the Ball with Barnaby,â Annie says, her cheeks poppy red, as she levitates a potted plant with a spell in the Great Hall. âI didnât know you wanted to invite me⌠Sorry,â
âDidnât you get my message?â asks Jae.
âYour Howler that bellowed âAnnie, youâre my sandwich!â in the library?â
Looking away, Jae rubs the back of his neck. Silent admission of a failed spell.
Annie is sorry. She thought it was a prank to annoy Pince. The librarian thought so too, for with a flick of her wand she had disintegrated the note and expelled Annie manu militari.
âWe always have fun together... If I had known, I would have gladly accepted your invitation,â
Alas, she has already accepted Barnabyâs, touched by his tender feelings for her. Her statement seems to satisfy Jae, who smiles.
âSave me some dances then!â
He gives her a knowing wink before he, too, levitated a pot of Flutterby bush. The entire class does the same under Professor Sproutâs supervision. The magic plants quiver without a breath of wind. They are Phyllida Flutterby bushes, a subspecies created by the eponymous witch who bequeathed them to the school where she was the headmistress in the 15th century. Theyâre the only ones in the world.
And they are about to bloom!
Their crinkled petal buds look like pearly chrysalises. According to Professor Sprout, who watches over these botanical treasures like a potion in a cauldron, the hatching will take place on 14th February.
âWhen you think that the last flowering was a century ago and that the next one will take place tomorrow, for only 24 hours, before blooming again in only a hundred years... It seems crazy!â The witch sighs in anticipatory delight. âIâm so looking forward to it! Do you realise that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity?â
âHey! We might still be here in a hundred years! â
âYou maybe... Still in detention! But the aurors donât stand out for their longevity, you know,â
Jae bows his head, his black locks falling like a curtain before his eyes. Then he raises his face, painted with a sly expression. âDo you think they counted the flowers? I know someone who would pay good money for...â
âDonât even think about it!â says the witch, half-amused, half-exasperated.
âYou're less scrupulous when you're the one stealing stuff from the kitchens or Snapeâs storeroom,â he notes with a touch of reproach.
Annie has her defence on the tip of her tongue when Barnaby interrupts them, probably on purpose, to remind her of their appointment the next day at Hagridâs.
âââââ
Annie painfully opens her eyes, a woodpecker pounding on her brain. She groans, a bandaged hand shielding her from the cold light of the infirmary. She rolls onto her side, then onto her stomach, trying to reconstruct the events before she loses consciousness. The memory of a three-headed snake bite at Hagridâs house comes to mind. This is probably the reason she is in the infirmary on Valentineâs Day!
The Ball!
What time is it?
Annie pushes back the covers and forces herself to stand up. Her feet have barely touched the floor when Madam Pomfrey lectures her as if she were a capricious child before serving her dinner, which Annie gulps down with gusto, determined to convince the matron that she is fit to dance at the Ball. But the healer is adamant that the student must remain under medical supervision because of the lingering effects of the poison injected by the Runespoor. What a bummer!
Upset and bitter, she buries her head under her pillow, thinking of Barnaby, all her friends who must have a good time, and to the blooming flowers of the Flutterby bushes she will not see...
âThis is the worst Valentineâs Day ever!â she exclaims, dejected, before falling asleep, knocked out by a sedative.
Her mind drifts with the music of the Ball playing in the background and Annie dreams of herself in her best dress. She swirls around the Great Hall on the arms of her dancing partners, enveloped in a cloud of delicious fragrances - exotic wood and pumpkin pasties - amidst the quivering petals of plant butterflies.
Suddenly, bursts of voices - Pomfrey and Filch - pierce the dreamy mists of her artificial sleep.
âIf I catch the thug who did this,â Filch growls. âHeâll feel my chains!â
Annoyed, Pomfrey sends him to fetch Professor Sprout. Annie considers hiding under her pillow, but curiosity is stronger. So she risks an eye... Stunned, even amazed, she folds back her covers and sits down.Phyllidaâs Flutterby bushes float into the infirmary!
The buds have metamorphosed into beautiful, iridescent butterfly-like flowers. Indifferent to the agitation of the upset healer, her gaze takes in the undulating vegetation and she inhales the fragrances that revive the ashes of some happy memories. Her heart swells with happiness as she realises she is the only patient.
So, someone brought them here especially for her?
âââââ
The next morning, Annie may leave the infirmary, despite her eyes ringed from a sleepless night. Too excited to sleep. She paces back and forth waiting for Jae outside the Great Hall and hugs him when he arrives.
âThank you,â
Despite his surprise, Jae fully enjoys the warmth of this embrace. âHow did you guess it was me?â
Annie kisses his cheek as she slips her hand into his trouser pocket. âWell, I recognised the typical Gryffindor boldness and... Perhaps qualities of a troublemaker with a heart of gold!â
She gives him a knowing wink before leaving him to join Barnaby at the end of the corridor. Jae buries his hand in his pocket, which closes over the magic sphere Annie has placed there. Discreetly, he inspects the contents thus preserved from any alteration and laughs.
His friend has just given him a flower that could well cause them trouble!
Because, given Filchâs bad temper accusing every student of theft, itâs obvious that they counted those flowers from the Flutterby bush.

Tried to make a playlist of songs I think January 1998 AU Owen would actually know and like, and yeah, I overthought this one far too much đ
Song list, lyrics and some headcanons below the cut.
I'm working on one of these for Curt too which I'll post soon!
If driving fast cars you like, if low bars you like
*
1. Anything Goes - Cole Porter
If old hymns you like, if bare limbs you like
If Mae West you like or me undressed you likeÂ
Why, nobody will oppose
One of the first musical songs Owen remembers hearing. Also a song about breaking taboos and changing times which gained more meaning as he got older.
2. There's No Business Like Show Business - Annie Get Your Gun
Yesterday they told you you would not go far
That night you open and there you are
Next day on your dressing room they've hung a star
Let's go on with the show
The first time Owen set foot in a theatre, aged about 10, he decided he wanted to become a actor, but expectations got in the way. After he started working for MI6 this song became a sort of private joke to him, since some of the lyrics could also apply to spying and later working for Chimera.)
3. You Call Everybody Darling - Andrews Sisters
You call everybody darling
And everybody calls you darling too
You don't mean what you're saying
It's just a game you're playing
But you'll find someone else can play the game as well as you
Curt once joked that this song reminds him of Owen, and now Owen is sentimental about it.
4. I Get a Kick Out of You - Frank Sinatra
Practically everything leaves me totally cold
The only exception I know is the case
When I'm out on a quiet spreeÂ
Fighting vainly the old ennuiÂ
And I suddenly turn and see your fabulous faceÂ
Song for Curt, which Curt also likes.
5. Black Coffee - Sarah Vaughan
I'm feelin' mighty lonesome
Haven't slept a wink
I walk the floor and watch the doorÂ
And in between I drink
Song for playing while smoking alone and miserable in a hotel room at 3am before/after a mission, even if the lyrics are technically about being a housewife.
6. Love You Didn't Do Right By Me - Rosemary Clooney
Love, you didn't do right by me
You planned a romance that just hadn't a chanceÂ
And I'm through
Song for playing while smoking alone and miserable after the only person you've ever let yourself fall in love with abandons you.
6. I Could Have Danced All Night - Ella Fitzgerald
I'll never know what made it so excitingÂ
Why all at once my heart took flightÂ
I only know when he began to dance with meÂ
I could have danced, danced, danced all night
From the first musical Owen managed to see on Broadway and the first one he saw with Curt, some time in the 50s. This version of the song is from album they bought in 1963 for Ms Mega.
7. My Funny Valentine - Sarah Vaughan
Is your figure less than Greek?
Is your mouth a little weak?
When you open it to speak, are you smart?
But don't change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Song for Curt, which Curt does not like.
8. America - Simon & Garfunkel
She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy
I said, "Be careful, his bowtie is really a camera"
"Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat"
"We smoked the last one an hour ago"
Song for Curt and being able to travel again (Owen spent a large part of the 60s in either the safehouse or a high security A.S.S facility) and being an expat in the US.
9. Eleanor Rigby - The BeatlesÂ
Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the graveÂ
No one was saved
Curt insists that Owen should like the Beatles because he's British. Owen does not like the Beatles. With the exception of this song, which he has complicated feelings about - he's always been curious about people and their lives, and it's one of the things that drew him to spying. And acting. And Chimera.
10. Cabaret - Cabaret
Life is a Cabaret, old chum
It's only a Cabaret, old chumÂ
And I love a Cabaret.
One of Owen's favourite broadway songs.
10. Waterloo - ABBA
Waterloo, I was defeated you won the war
Waterloo, promise to love you forevermore
Waterloo, couldn't escape if I wanted to
Waterloo, knowing my fate is to be with you
Owen will not admit to anyone that he likes this song, but Curt knows he loves it.
11. Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush
How could you leave meÂ
When I needed to possess you?Â
I hated you, I loved you, tooÂ
Curt makes fun of Owen for liking this song because it's dramatic and angsty and 'classic books are boring.' Owen thinks that Curt just doesn't appreciate intellectual art, or pay attention to lyrics.
12. This Charming Man - The Smiths
Why pamper life's complexityÂ
When the leather runs smoothÂ
On the passenger seat?Â
I would go out tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wearÂ
This man said, "It's gruesome that someone so handsome should care"Â
Song for Curt, first overheard playing in the cafe Curt and Owen like to visit.
13. Tom's Diner - Suzanne Vega
Oh, this rain it will continueÂ
Through the morning as I'm listeningÂ
I am thinking of your voice
And of the midnight picnic once upon a timeÂ
Before the rain beganÂ
I finish up my coffee and it's time to catch the train
1980-90s song that reminds 1980s-90s Owen of being 1950s Owen.
14. Non, je ne regrette rien - Edith Piaf
Non, je ne regrette rien
Car ma vieÂ
Car mes joiesÂ
Aujourd'huiÂ
Ăa commence avec toi
Owen once asked Curt to make sure this is played at his funeral. Curt laughed at him for being clichĂŠ and pretentious, but he's written it down somewhere to make sure he doesn't forget.
#fluff playlist for a war criminal?#its more likely than you think#spies are forever#owen carvour#curtwen#playlist#i put far too much work into this#amazing what procrastination can do

Just talking into the void at this point đ
Anyone, if you see and want to talk, cool, but also feel free to ignore this post, I just need to vent a little.
To no one person in particular... sometimes 8 just cant stand people. I have had my project car for a little over a year and a half now, got it like May 2022. I was told by everyone that they coukd and would help me get it on the road, otherwise I would never have touched something so outside of my ability. Fast forward to now, Ocotber 2023. I have gotten about 2 things done to the car out of the probably like 50 things that need to be done before it is on the road again. About 3 weeks ago I finally got a confirmed "everyone is out" basically so here I am, no help, and an unfinished car. No problem, its all on me, fine. Then its time for everyone to PISS OFF. No advice, no suggestions, no 2 cents, you all had your chance, so get out of the fuckin' way.
I call around, talk to a few shops, find one I feel comfy with that has a guy over 50 who knows about older cars. Not some young 22 year old saying "I can look at your 1967 car!" đ No junior, I am good, I will go with the mechanic who used to work on these when they started in the industry. Tenatively set up an appointment to drop off the car and have them give it a once over and tell me what it will take to be DRIVEABLE. I wanted to take the week and think about a few things and make a list of the issues I knew of with the car before saying a final "yes" to getting it looked at. (There is a post buried on my blog with a little more info on the car if curious. It does have some tags like 1967 dodge etc, I think?)
Anywho, here is where I make my mistake. I start to mention on Monday and Tuesday, in passing, to 2 of the people (the ones who were supposed to help me) about finally making progress with the car and bringing it to a shop. Friday I called and confirmed the appointment, hammer dropped. Car will go there, Tag, you are it, tell me what I need to get it running when I drop it off. Hand clap, I am done. Ahhh, bliss... Now, all weekend, everyone is texting me again offering advice (something I asked for and was basically given đ¤ˇââď¸ as the answer from everyone before they bowed out) and telling me what shop to bring it to, or "let me call so and so and see if they have any ideas" or "you really should do this BEFORE you get the car running as it could damage the engine if not" đđś . . . Like what the F U C K. SERIOUSLY? đś Now, now, NOW is when everyone crawls out of the wood work and wants to second guess things that I had discussed, in detail with them, for them only now to say there is a possible problem with the order of things I was trying to get the work done in?? đľâđŤđ¤ŻđĽ´ I was basically seething when the last person I clearly told "dont call anyone, I am all set, I do not need to owe anyone any favors or anything. I am good. Dont worry about it" That donkey told me today "oh, I reached out to that guy who doesnt do this any more, that you told me to leave alone, and I told him you asked me to reach out to him to see if he would be interested in helping." Literally do the thing he always tells eveyone he doesnt do anymore cuz it is a pain and he doesnt want to? Wow, thanks... after I told you NOT to? Sweet...
So, yeah, kinda bullshit at everyone who told me they were done with helping but now has all kinds of advice and shit. Piss off, donkeys, I really cant wait to have this beast on the road and just drive by knowing the only thing they all did was slow me down from driving her sooner. And to smash the gas and light up the tires while they sit their with their kids in the family minivans. đđť
Ok, I am doing ranting into the void. At least for this matter.
Again, not really looking for nor expecting comments or whatever. Just needed to vent

âCan I braid your hair?â
You asked for Rio and Sophie stuff earlier, and now Iâm obsessed đ
Thank you so much đ
OSOP - Rio and Sophie - A Third-Time Father
âCan I braid your hair?â
Rio stared at her, almost certain that he had misheard her. âHuh?â
Sophie smiled and knelt beside him. âDeliah taught me how to do it. I know it helps me feel better, and youâve got your thinking face on. It might help you.â
âOh.â Rio shrugged. âKnock yourself out, kid.â
He tensed up as Sophieâs small hand grabbed a clump of his hair and started brushing it out. For a moment, a bitter taste filled his mouth as he remembered his mother brushing his hair as a kid, calling him a name he had buried years ago. Then, the bitterness turned to dry, numbing dust as he thought of Jin. She loved having her hair brushed and braided, until she was old enough to do it on her own. Rio would have given anything to braid her hair one last time.
The walls he had built over a lifetimeâ both as a kid in the foster system and a soldierâ had been worn down significantly. He couldnât remember a time since Jasonâs death where he hadnât fought off tears. As Sophie twisted his hair, praising herself with confidence and excitement, he started to cry again. She was his second chance, and he hadnât taken care of her. Pedra was a far better parent to Sophie than he had ever been.
The braiding stopped as Sophie looked at him. âPapa?â
He bit his lip and ducked further into his hands. His shoulders shook as he breathed, and Sophie held him close.
âItâs okay, you can cry.â
âDonâtââ Rio took a deep breath. âItâs not your job to look after me, kid.â
Sophie shook her head. âParadisians will always look afterââ
âYouâre a child, Sophie, not a monarch. Let yourself enjoy life, the way you should have back home.â
She smiled at him. âYou should do the same.â
The sound of a restrained laugh caught Rioâs attention. When he turned his head, Julie and Tyler quickly walked back to the patio in the center of their houses, laughing to themselves.
âThey think so, too.â Sophie pointed towards the bar. âEspecially Doctor Montoya.â
Rio could see Harley staring at him from the bar, ducking his head back down when their eyes met. Sophie giggled to herself.
âDo you like him back?â she asked.
âI will call your mother,â Rio said.
She squeaked and ran back towards Julie and the others. In that one moment, Rio suddenly felt whole. His remaining family was all in one place, happy to be around him. He reached for the back of his head and traced the long, chunky bits of the braid Sophie had left, and a smile fought its way onto his lips. He knew he didnât deserve to be a father again, but he was damn lucky to be one.

Writing Year in Review - 2022
On the one hand, I really like doing "year in review" posts and musings. It gives you a chance to look back on what you've accomplished, and lets you prepare yourself for what you want to do in the year head. On the other hand, if your accomplishments didn't measure up to whatever yardstick you're using, it can be a disappointing and demoralizing experience.
This year was, in my opinion, a rather lackluster year for writing for me. It's definitely not for a lack of ideas or interest â if anything, my WIP folder and ideas list are filled with all sorts of stories that I really want to finish. What has been lacking is the time, energy and motivation to apply butt to seat and get some writing done.
That's not the only thing I "failed" at â I came nowhere near my reading goal of 24 books. But there was a book I finished in the summer that had bogged me down for years and I was determined to finish it, which I did! And I'm working my way through The Expanse series by checking the books out of the library. (I'm about 75% done with the series!) I think I'll be scaling my reading goal back to 12 books again this year, so that I can feel pleased when I blow past it. đ
However, I am trying to be kind to myself, as there were a lot of competing priorities and distractions. I struggled with anxiety of a whole variety of things. I buried myself in video games (specifically grabbing some titles recommended by others), and the new WoW expansion came out in November which has sucked up a lot of my time in December. And since the pandemic is over now (huge, massive /sarcasm tag on that) we spent time travelling: first heading west to see Spouse's family, and then driving east to visit my family.
This summer I got to hug my parents for the first time in three years.
Anyway, with all that happening, I am happy with what I did get done. December was a complete bust (see previous bit about WoW: Dragonflight coming out) in that I only wrote 735 words, but I also worked on the photocomic I posted in December.
In 2022 I posted 10 works to AO3, for a total of 47,609 words. A lot of that was either zine pieces that I could finally publish, or comic scripts. I also wrote 84,544 words. A chunk of that was for the IDW2 worldbuilding reviews (which I really have to get back to), and for a WIP that I haven't started posting yet.
Most months I didn't hit that 10,000 word threshold I have for myself, but that's ok. For the most part I was still writing consistently, even if the output wasn't quite as high as I would have liked. Looking at my writing tracker, you can also see the slow trend downwards in word count per week... Not great, but understandable.
When I did get some writing done, my words per hour were still rather consistent. Last year I averaged 500-600wph, while this year it's more like 600-800wph. Not bad! I just need to carve out more time to do that writing in my day. đ
And speaking of making time to write, here's another graph where you can see the slow erosion of the time I spent writing. There was a big burst in September (as I think that's when my muse really wanted to work on that smutty story with Prowl) but otherwise I've been spending less and less time writing as the year went on.
As for the concrete goals I set for myself in 2022, I didn't do terribly. I originally posted these in order of priority.
Finish Must Like Cats Yes! Done!
Finish Sun and Moon (working title) Haha no, but still working on it
Apply for two zines (if something catches my eye) Mmm, I applied for one*. So, 50%.
Write two comic scripts for practice I wrote one, so again, 50%.
Finish The King and the Bounty Hunter Nope.
Start By Fire and Flame (working title) Hahhaa no.
*No word on if this zine is getting off the ground, and I'm not holding my breath at this point.
In coming up with priorities for this year, I want to make sure they're obtainable, and focused on getting stuff done. (sigh) So here's this year's list:
Finish Sun and Moon (working title)
Finish one Sparkr story (any of my bunnies or WIPs!)
Write two comic scripts for practice
Make more progress in IDW2 reviews
Finish The King and the Bounty Hunter
Also, one of my "maintenance" goals is to repost the stories I pulled down. I have a couple of story compilations, and the fact that they're in compilations have caused me some issues (for example, it's difficult to link to a specific chapter in some cases, and I can't include a single chapter in a series.) So I'm going to be revising and reposting those stories in 2023.
Behind the cut is the first sentence of each of the stories I posted, and the month it was posted in. I hope everyone has a lovely 2023.
January. Armed. We're in a medical bay. (This is a comic script; you can view the comic here.)
March. Must Like Cats. Sideswipe woke slowly, rising out of recharge one system at a time.
April. Private Parts. A heavy arm fell across Blast Off's shoulders.
May. An Interview with the Award-Winning Engraving Artist Sunstreaker of Kaon. At first glance, the studio looks empty, almost abandoned.
June. The Wild Hunt. Hot Rod couldn't remember when he'd first heard about the Wild Hunt.
July. Time Together. Emperor Starscream watched as Skywarp bounced on the tips of his pedes, his wings flicking with every bounce.
August. Quiet Now. Hound felt like the unluckiest bot in the galaxy.
October. How the Praxians Lost Their Wings. "Kup, tell Dinobots a story."
November. VIP. "In conclusion, this operation should result in an estimated 63% reduction in the Decepticons' offensive ability, and provide us with an additional two months in which we can work with our human allies to fortify our defenses."
December. Mission Creep. Jazz is driving in alt mode. (Another comic script; you can view the comic here.

@podiumackles
This chapter was so good! I really like that you keep dropping the name/word "fury" to emphasize that it's not just her hero name, but it's also a state of mind for her and that it is becoming a theme in this story. Her fury over everything that had happened to her (and to Ben when she finds out I suspect đ§).
I really loved this:
You tightened your fists, feeling the heat of your powers surging just beneath your skin. It hurt, just the slightest. It had been so long since you had the chance to use themâso long since youâd felt anything beyond the dull ache of confinement.
The idea that her powers kind of "hurt" because she's been keeping them in for so long is really interesting and I think it's such a nice detail that adds on to fury. It also kind reminded me of how Wolverne's hands always hurt when his claws come out lol đ
Ben shot you a glance, his grip tightening on his shield. âYou think I havenât done this a thousand times? Just stay out of my fucking way.â You didnât respond. There was no point. Whatever bond the two of you once had was long gone, buried beneath the years of torture and manipulation. But that didnât matter now. What mattered was getting through this.
Oh my word it's breaking my heart that he doesn't remember her. And she's spent the last forty years probably thinking about him đ
You felt the heat rise in your palms, the energy building, and it hurt. It hurt so fucking bad. It was unlike anything you had ever felt before. It used to be a sweet touch of weather, the comforting droplets of rain. But this was different.
Again I LOVE that it hurts, that it's been building and twisting beneath her skin for years and now it gets to explode from her. I also really love the comparison of the way it used to feel like "comforting droplets of rain." And her powers are SO COOL!
This chapter was another wonderful addition to this story and I can't wait to read more!! đĽ°
the moments that stay (they turn out all wrong)
In which the man she could never forget suddenly turns up at her cell, but he has no remembrance of the woman in front of him. And the moments that stayed with her for decades, turn out to be her memories only.
series masterlist
CHAPTER 3
A/N: English isn't my first language!! apologies in advance.
Outlines: After being his sidekick in Payback for years, you-better known as your supename Fury-ended up on the same end of Soldier Boy's violence as every other person. What you didn't realise, however, was that your old team had set you both up for betrayal, right when you thought you were helping them in getting him. After decades of being stuck in Vought's testing lab, you heard Soldier Boy got out. But the man who appeared in front of your cell wasn't the man you knew.
Warnings: swearing, descriptions of slight gore, mentions of blood, mentions of death, and possibly wrong storytelling in lines of the canon events. I'm not that good at remembering, guys. and the boys was just kinda complicated. forgive me.
Present
Getting out of your cell was easier than expected. The hard part was getting out of the facility alive; about twenty minutes into the escape, alarm bells rang out like a symphony of dread, filling the cold, sterile corridors. It wasnât surprising, reallyâVoughtâs security wasnât going to let you walk out unharmed. Still, for the first time in decades, your wrists were free from the biting restraints, and adrenaline surged through your veins.
You ran alongside Butcher, who seemed to have an uncanny knack for navigating the labyrinthine facility. His movements were sharp and purposeful. It was clear he had done his homework on this place, even if Voughtâs playbook was constantly evolving. Soldier Boy was ahead, his broad shoulders cutting a path through the narrow hallways like a battering ram.
âThought you said you had this under control!â you shouted over the wail of the alarms, your voice rusty but gaining strength.
Butcher smirked, barely winded. âOh, this? Bit of noise never hurt nobody.â
Ben shot a glance back at the two of you, his shield gripped tightly in one hand, his jaw clenched. He looked as though he was barely holding himself togetherârage simmering just beneath the surface. You couldnât blame him. Whatever memories Vought had buried inside him, they still left scars. And now, the sound of blaring alarms running through his ears, must trigger his fight or flight response. There was no doubt about it.
âWe need to hit the control room,â Butcher said, his voice urgent now. âShut down the security before they send the big guns.â
You and Soldier Boy exchanged a glance. His eyes still carried that haunting vacancy, but a flicker of something elseârecognition, maybeâcrossed his face. He jerked his head forward, signalling for you to keep moving. Old habits died hard. Even after everything, he still acted like a leader.
The trio turned a sharp corner just as a squad of Vought soldiers appeared at the other end of the corridor. You didnât hesitate. Throwing yourself to the floor, you slid behind a row of metal crates, while Soldier Boy charged forward like a freight train. His shield crashed against the soldiers, sending them flying, their weapons useless against his brute force and super healing.
Butcher stayed low, pulling a gun from his coat and taking a few well-placed shots, neutralizing the ones that hadnât already been knocked out cold by Ben. The man moved with ruthless precision, not a shred of hesitation in his actions. You wondered how many people like you and Ben heâd already dealt with, how much heâd seen. But that was a question for later. For now, survival was your only priority.
âClear,â Butcher muttered, nodding for you to get up.
âWe wonât have much time,â you said, still catching your breath. The alarms were one thing, but Vought had been keeping an eye on every single corner of the facility with the carefully hidden cameras around the building.
âYeah, no fucking shit,â Ben muttered, shaking off some dust mixed with blood from his shield as if this were a regular Tuesday for him. âWhereâs this control room?â
You pointed ahead. âUp two floors. We take the stairsâelevatorâs a death trap.â
Your mind was racing with thoughts of escape. But there was another gnawing question you couldnât shake: Why were they here, really? Why you?
As the three of you burst through the stairwell door and ascended the steps, your legs burning with the effort, you felt the weight of the years clawing at you. Your muscles were stiff, your body weak from disuse, but the rageâthe furyâinside you was enough to keep you moving. You were sick of being someone elseâs pawn.
Suddenly, Ben stopped at a landing, holding out his arm. You froze, instinctively falling back into soldier mode. âWhat is it?â you whispered.
âListen.â
You strained your ears, and sure enough, your superhearing enhanced the heavy clank of footsteps echoing from above. A lot of footsteps.
âTheyâre sending the backup troops,â You muttered. âThey think weâre trapped.â
Butcher grinned, something dark and predatory in his eyes. âLet âem come. They donât know whatâs cominâ for âem.â
You tightened your fists, feeling the heat of your powers surging just beneath your skin. It hurt, just the slightest. It had been so long since you had the chance to use themâso long since youâd felt anything beyond the dull ache of confinement.
âYou sure youâre ready for this?â Butcher asked, glancing at you with an eyebrow raised.
You looked him dead in the eye, trying to hide your hesitation. âAlways am.â
The first wave of guards came pouring down the stairs, fully armed, faces masked. Without hesitation, Ben launched himself into the fray, shield gleaming as it smashed into the front line. Butcher followed, a pistol in one hand and a combat knife in the other, carving through the chaos.
You stood back for a moment, feeling the pulsing heat build in your hands, until finally, with a sharp exhale, you unleashed it. Energyâwild, untamed windâexploded from your palms, sending the next wave of soldiers crashing back into the walls. The surge felt powerful, like shaking off the chains that had weighed you down for years.
But most of all, it was stronger than it ever had been. The most powerful you had ever felt. And you barely dared to admit that it scared you.
Ben glanced back, eyes wide for the briefest of moments when he looked at you before he returned to dispatching the remaining guards.
âNot bad,â Butcher commented, smirking through the chaos. Though an unfamiliar look crossed his eyes.
Once the stairwell was clear, the three of you sprinted up the last flight of steps and into the corridor leading to the control room. You could hear more guards closing in behind you, but the door ahead was just within reach. With a mighty kick, Soldier Boy knocked it open, and the three of you burst into the room, slamming the door shut behind you.
Two of Voughtâs employees shot around in their chairs, a look of horror flashed on their innocent faces right before Soldier Boy lifted his shield, moved it at the height of their necks and-
Two heads rolled over de floor.
The air was thick with tension, punctuated by the shrill wails of the alarms still echoing through the facility. The walls were lined with glowing monitors, displaying a maze of surveillance footage, flashing red warnings, and floor plans. This was the heart of Voughtâs operations.
Butcher wasted no time, moving swiftly to one of the terminals. He began typing with a speed and confidence that suggested this wasn't his first time hacking into a heavily fortified system. Meanwhile, Ben paced near the door, shield in hand, his eyes darting between you and the hallway as if expecting another wave of soldiers any second.
You, however, stood frozen for a moment, taking in the roomâthe remembrance of decades of torment, experimentation, and manipulation. You thought youâd feel more relief standing here, so close to freedom, but instead, an overwhelming uncertainty bubbled just beneath your skin.
âAre you just gonna stand there, or are you gonna help?â Butcher barked, not even looking up from the terminal. His fingers flew across the keyboard as he tried to override the systemâs security protocols.
You snapped out of your daze and approached another terminal, feeling the heat of your powers still crackling under your skin. And it still hurt.
Before you could respond, Soldier Boy's sharp voice cut through the air. "We've got company."
The door behind him shook under the pressure of a battering ram. Heavy footsteps echoed down the corridor as more of Voughtâs enforcers gathered outside, their numbers growing by the second.
âOf course we bloody do,â Butcher muttered, his eyes never leaving the screen. âWeâre almost throughâjust a bit more time.â
You clenched your fists, the air around you shimmering with energy that was so unfamiliar, it sent a shiver down your spine. "We don't have time, Butcher. I can feel themâtheyâre coming fast."
Ben squared his shoulders, stepping forward to brace the door. The rage that always seemed to simmer beneath his surface was now boiling over. He was done waiting, done being manipulated. âLet them come,â he growled, his shield raised, ready to take on whatever came through that door.
Butcher glanced at you, something like hesitation flickering in his eyes. It was a look you didnât yet know he could have. âYouâve got a plan, love? âCause if we donât shut this down now, Voughtâll be all over us.â
The door rattled violently as Voughtâs forces hammered against it, each thud reverberating through the control room.
"Me, a plan?" you spat ever so lightly, mild accusation in your tone. "You were the ones that needed me out!"
But Butcher didn't respond. Neither did Ben, for that matter.
Time was running out, and the tension was as thick as the adrenaline coursing through your veins. You focused, taking in the situation: Butcher was close to breaking the system, Ben was ready to stand his ground, and youâwell, you werenât the same person who had been shackled in that cell for decades. You had something new simmering inside, something dangerous. And you could feel it in every single piece of your body.
Your powers crackled just beneath the surface, stronger than you had ever remembered. The years of confinement, of being forced into silence, had built a storm within you, and you were ready to let it loose. But you knew this wasnât you. This had never been you.
Ben stood firm by the door, his broad shoulders braced against the inevitable. His eyes flicked toward you, still cold, still distant. He was ready to fight, but this was a fight you had never been in before. A complete stranger, and a man who couldnât even remember you, stood by you. And you had no idea if you could rely on them.
Butcherâs voice broke through your thoughts. âWeâre in!â he called, finally cracking the security system. âBut theyâve got some heavy-duty encryption on this place. Itâll take a few more minutes to wipe the files and shut down the alarms.â
You glanced at Ben. He was steady, but he couldnât hold off a full squad alone. And your powersâthey felt unpredictable. But you didnât have a choice. Vought was coming, and this was your only chance.
The door shuddered again, and you could hear the muffled voices of the soldiers outside, preparing for a final push. You turned to Butcher. âYouâd better hurry. We donât have minutes.â
He looked at you, his jaw clenched, but nodded. âJust keep them off me, yeah? I donât fancy getting me head blown off âcause you got distracted.â
Asshole.
With a deep breath, you stepped forward, joining Ben at the door. âYou got an idea?â you asked, voice low.
Ben shot you a glance, his grip tightening on his shield. âYou think I havenât done this a thousand times? Just stay out of my fucking way.â
You didnât respond. There was no point. Whatever bond the two of you once had was long gone, buried beneath the years of torture and manipulation. But that didnât matter now. What mattered was getting through this.
The door burst open, and Voughtâs soldiers flooded in. Ben moved like a force of nature, his shield slamming into the first soldier with a sickening crunch. He was fast, brutal, and efficientâevery movement a practised execution of raw power. But there were too many.
You felt the heat rise in your palms, the energy building, and it hurt. It hurt so fucking bad. It was unlike anything you had ever felt before. It used to be a sweet touch of weather, the comforting droplets of rain. But this was different.
It neared a breaking point. Both your power and your well-being. At its maximum power, you lost control. And with a sharp exhale, you unleashed it. The energy exploded from you in a blinding wave, tearing through the room like wildfire. The soldiers were thrown back, their bodies crashing into the walls with bone-shattering force. Bolts of lightning crackled between the men, ensuring death upon impact.
Even Ben was forced to brace himself against the onslaught, his shield raised in defence. He glanced at you out of the corner of his eye, barely having evaded your attack from reaching him. But he didnât say anything.
You were out of control. And there was no way you could contain this power any longer. Fuck, you weren't even sure what was going on. You weren't even sure if you were conscious.
When the dust settled, the room was eerily quiet. The soldiers lay scattered, unconscious or worse, and the air was thick with the smell of burnt metal and ozone. You fell to the floor, breathing heavily, your hands still crackling with residual power. For a moment, you didnât feel anythingâjust numbness.
Then Butcherâs voice cut through the silence. âWell, that was bloody brilliant,â he muttered, stepping back from the terminal. âShut down the whole damn system. Alarms are off, securityâs locked out. Weâre good to go.â
You turned to face him, your body still trembling from the power you barely remembered releasing. âItâs done?â
Butcher nodded, a grim smile on his face. âYeah, love. Itâs done. Now we get the hell out of here.â
Ben lowered his shield, his face unreadable as he looked at you. For the first time in what felt like forever, there was a glimmer of something other than cold indifference in his eyes. Maybe he remembered something. Maybe it was fear.
You didn't care.
You spoke up once more, this time directing your gaze towards Ben, who held a seemingly shocked frown. âWhat on earth happened?â
Soldiers scattered in the hallway, remains of them smashed against the bloodied wall.
Soldier Boy didnât answer. Instead, he looked at Butcher, who knowingly glanced back at the supe.
All you could do was look around at the aftermath of whatever had happened to you.
And what feared you the most, was the fact you could only vaguely remember what the answer to it was.

I'm Scared
Context: He had a bad day. Being a celebrity, smiling at the camera, and waving to the fans can be really exhausting at times, after all. But Tobias being him, he didn't want it to show but you saw through him all the same and you comforted him with a hug.
Edit: I reread what I wrote and it wasn't about him having a bad day lol Tobias was worried about something because something happened and you were there to comfort him. Idk why I wrote the context that way đ
đđľâđŤ anyway...
-Sadboi Tobias, Tobias angst lol
Tobias x reader
--
The two of you were the last to come out of Leo's cafe after your usual hangout. Finally, you can have the chance to talk to him alone. You've been trying to find the right timing but he kept busying himself with fooling around with the others, as if avoiding you on purpose. Something's up and you know it. You stopped walking.
"Tobias..."
You called out to him and only then did he realized that he was walking ahead of you. He stopped and turned around to look at you, smiling as soon as your eyes meet. "What's up?" he asked. The quiet of the night amplified the sound of your every step as you walked towards him. And despite the pounding in your chest, without a word, you muster the courage to wrap him in a hug. His smile slowly fades away and his shoulder slumped as if the hug took all his remaining energy. Only it didn't. There wasn't any energy to begin with. Him being extra chipper today is just a facade. You noticed it the moment he arrived at the cafe earlier. It sucks sometimes that only you can see through him like this. It sucks in a sense that you want the others to see him too. Maybe knowing that you're not the only one would hurt less. Especially when it hurts you even more when you see him hide his true feelings behind a smile, his sadness behind a laugh. You want him to stop hiding and running away but you can't really force him. All you can do is find him when he hides, and catch him when he runs.
Tobias sighs, his arms slowly wrapping themselves around you and his forehead fell on your shoulder. You can feel his exhaustion, not just physically but emotionally, as he let himself be exposed. It's no use building up a wall and hiding behind it. He knows this now. "Guess I'm trapped," he said chuckling softly as he tightened his grip on your waist. "I can't really escape you, can I?" he whispered and you felt the cloth on your shoulder dampen. "Hmm," you hummed your response because you know if you speak, he'll hear your voice break. You bit your lower lip and took a deep breath, trying to fight the urge to cry. You can't. You have to keep steady, be strong because if you crumble, where else would he draw strength from? Even though seeing him in pain breaks your heart into tiny little pieces...
The quiet night was filled with muffled sobs. Thankfully the street was empty and only the moon and the stars witnessed this scene unfold. You remained quiet, your hand gently patting his back until he's done unloading the pain he's been holding back for who knows how long. He moved away a little, letting you see more of his vulnerability. For some unknown reason, this brings peace to your heart. Finally letting you see this side of him... You wiped the tears on his cheeks and slowly his blue eyes found yours. His gaze was too intense, it made you look away. But to your surprise, his hand caught your chin and forcing you to look at him once more. "W-what?" you asked, stuttering but you tried to hold his gaze. Tobias's eyes were filled with emotions you've never seen before. But one you recognized made your brows furrowed a bit. And before you could ask him what he was thinking, he spoke as if knowing you would ask. "I'm scared," he said closing his eyes and once again burying his face on your shoulder. You could feel his breath on your neck and it sends shiver down your spine but your mind is too busy to pay attention to the sensation. "Of what?" you asked. He hugged you tighter in response as if to say... To lose you. Your heart skipped a beat and your mind went blank for a second before it began to race... Are you just imagining things or is it really what he meant? There's only one way to find out. "Of what, Tobias?" you repeat your question and as you wait for his actual response, you try to calm your heart. What could he possibly be afraid of? "Of me wanting to keep you all to myself," he whispered to your ear and his warm breath had the skin on your neck crawl. His arms shifted on your back and he nuzzled your neck. You smiled... He's really like a kid sometimes. Understandable that he'd feel this way because for the first time in a long time, he found someone with whom he can show this part of him. You pat his back and he spoke once again. "Of wanting you to stay by my side forever and never letting go." You felt his lips quiver on your neck. Is he about to cry again? You pulled away a little to face him. You looked him straight in the eyes and true enough they are sparkling with tears about to fall. You cupped his cheeks and smiled.
"What's there to be afraid of? All you have to do is ask."
For a moment, Tobias was stunned but the shock was soon replaced by a grin. The blue in his eyes that always seemed so sad to you, showed something new... genuine happiness. "Can I really keep you all to myself? And have you stay by my side forever?" he whispered as if something's stopping him from actually saying the words. You sighed. This guy flirts like there's no tomorrow but when things get real he can really be insecure, huh? You chuckled softly at the thought. "How about I keep you all to myself, have you stay by my side forever and promise not to let you go?" you said with a bright smile on your face. His eyes sparkled like a kid and slowly his lips formed into a wide smile. "Deal!" he enthusiastically said and wrapped you in a big hug. "I really am so lucky..." he whispered and you can hear contentment in his voice. You smiled for you feel the same.
The end. đ§Ą

to the end of the line - engineer/space!mark x afab!reader
for @creat0r-cat
i'll be honest, this was a bit of a challenge but not for the reasons you probably think đ
but i love a good challenge and it helped snap me out of a block i was in, so thank you! i hope i got the tone you were going for uwu
warning(s): sfw, implied past abuse, slight violence (reader is grabbed)
You donât take any time to think about itâthis is the only option, you refuse to let him goâyou yank the warp crystal out of the base of the core and chuck it beyond Mark's head into the yawning chasm above. Thereâs a beat of silence before the two of you are thrown to the ground from the force of the explosion.
It nearly knocks you unconscious but ever since the loops began, youâve gotten incredibly resist to such trauma. Instead, youâre more than a little winded, coughing slightly as you start to push yourself up from the floor when a strong hand yanks you to your feet by your elbow and shoves you against the wall.
âWhat have you done?â The sheer vehemence in your head engineerâs voice scares you a little but you didnât get this far as a captain by buckling under pressure. You swallow the lump of discomfort in your throat and lift your chin, looking Mark in the eye.
âYou donât understand, Mark, Iââ you start to say and flinch back when he slams his palm into the wall beside your head.
âNo, Captain, you donât understand. That was our last chance to fix things and now itâs gone. You ruined everything!â
âIâ!â
He grabs your arm and you let out a noise of fear that he ignores as painful memories start to make their presence known in the back of your mind. âDo you have any idea how much time I spent working to build this thing, Captain? An eternity! Hundreds of thousands of years of progress fucking ruined because of you!â
âM-Mark, pleaseâŚâ
Youâre not fully aware of itâand neither is he in the midst of his angerâbut youâve started to cry beneath your helmet, your breathing starting to pick up as you shove your shoulders as far back into the wall as you can manage.
âI need to get back and fix it, because if I'm not back there to do it thenâthenâŚâ
Mark shakes you once at the start of his rant and the motion is enough to remind of you of a memory youâd wished stayed buriedâthe yelling would follow you into your sleep, curled up in a ball on the couch because heâs locked you out of your shared bedroom again, your body stinging from pains youâd have to hide before you left for training in the morningâand you end up choking out a cry, recoiling away from him. Youâd been there before, by the void, were you uncomfortably familiar with it and you just didnât want to end up hurt again. You donât see Mark falter at this reaction, but you do see his feet take a step away from you, his hold loosening in his confusion and you take that moment to get away.
âCaptain, whatâŚ?â
You donât hear it. You don't hear Mark's slow realization that they must be safe now, that you did the right thing by throwing the crystal into the warp core. The only focus on your mind is getting to a spot thatâs safe and that ends with you tucked into a corner of the room, hugging your knees to your chest as you sit half hidden behind a small panel of servers. You focus on trying to calm your breathing, heart pounding heavy in your ears and after failing to do that for a minute, you reach up and rip your helmet off, your tears dripping down onto the dark fabric of your flight suit. All you can think about is his hands on you, the way he ignored your pleas and youâre almost hyperventilating when thereâs the shift of boots against the floor.
When you gasp in fear, Mark makes a low shushing noise, taking a step back where you can see it before crouching down and reaching for you. âPl-please don't,â and you whimper out your exâs name and suddenly the pieces are clicking together for him now.
Whatâs worse is that he recognizes the name, a member from the training committee from the Invincible IIâs ground control back home on Earth and Mark isnât ashamed of the anger he feels on your behalf, ten times the level he felt beforeâbefore he thought you had betrayed him and knowingly damned the universe, but heâs over it now knowing that theyâre relatively safe.
âCan you take a few deep breaths for me, Captain?â Mark instructs softly and feels a flicker of happiness when you comply, if a bit slowly. âThatâs good⌠do you remember where we are?â
You frown a little before it all comes back to you in a rush, your mind cleared up by taking a moment to breathe.
âThe Invincible II, IâMark, gods, I'mâ!â It comes back to you in a rush and you go to apologize but he shakes his head, scooting a little closer.
Thereâs a noise both of you are ignoring in the distanceâit almost sounds like glass sĚśh̡a̸t̡tĚľeĚ´r̡iĚľn̸gĚ´.
âNo, Captain. I was⌠I was wrong, alright? Itâs not your fault. It was never your fault, okay?â He looks you in your eyes then, desperate for you to understand he means what he's saying and you nod slowly. He holds out a hand and you hesitate to take it, but Markâs learned a little something about patience in this whole thingâhe wishes he could say that the eternity thing was an exaggeration, but the sheer fatigue in his bones, the memories of millions of loops burned into his brain, tells him otherwise. Once you take his hand, his fingers curling around your own, you start to breathe a little easier.
The noise is getting lĚ´ÍÍoĚśÍĚu̸ĚÍd̡ÍĚe̡ĚĚŤrĚľĚĚş...
CĚľĚĚĚąlĚľĚĚÍo̡ÍÍÍs̸Ě
ÍĚŻeĚ´Ě̞̺̥̳̽rĚľĚĚÍĚĚťâŚ
âI'm s-sorry, anyway,â you say, staring down at your linked hands as the universe begins to c̡ĚÍrĚśÍÍaĚľĚÍ
cĚśĚĚk̡ĚĚ into pieces around you. âFor leaving you to do it alone.â
Mark gives you a wry smile and squeezes your hand softly.
âYou were by my side nearly every time, Cap. If I was alone, it was because of my own stupid choices. But I wonât let it happen again. I'm sticking by your side until the end of it all.â
And he does.
As the universe stutters to a halt, as billions of timelines and dimensions are rewritten and the Invincible II breaks into dust around the two of you, Mark stays by your side.
He doesnât let go of your hand.
