“It’s so cold out here…” You tugged your legs underneath your chin and let out a loud yawn, wiggling your feet. “I thought the rainy season ended last week?”

Five centimeters away from you on the bench, Nathaniel leisurely sipped on his Americano. “High humidity levels,” he set the cup aside, “so your clothes might get saturated by the moisture in the air.”

“Huh, guess that’s why I’m still shivering in these 70D stockings—“ mid-sentence, your eyes widened when the guy suddenly took off his blouse and draped it over your lap. “Thanks.”

Nathaniel just shrugged and picked up his drink again. Two nurses walked by and cooed at the scene, though you weren’t sure if the attention was on you or him, or the playing-house act he had been tolerating for a while.

You scanned your surroundings: the hospital’s courtyard was mostly empty at this point. A few elderly patients hung out in the right corner of a dimly lit cafeteria, doing their nighttime stretches. When you look up, a billboard on the side of the building greeted your eyes—a picture of an old-looking Peter with his back hunched. The bounty flashed beneath it in place of the contact number for donation: 7,6 Billion Won.

“Kim Soongu…” The words left your lips as an afterthought, but then you caught Nathaniel’s jaws clenching in your peripheral vision with the coffee cup suddenly crushed to a pulp in his palm, a river of brown dripping to the ground.

The awkward silence didn’t even last for three seconds before a hysterical fit of laughter left your throat as you clung to your stomach.

“Holy fuck—“ snickering, you leaned against Nathaniel’s side like you two were having a sleepover. “Look at the way you got your panties in a twist with just the mention of his name. Is he that good?”

Your slightly-closer-than-an-acquaintance furrowed his eyebrows and answered through gritted teeth. “Brat…”

“Annoying too?” you mirrored his cocked brow with amusement, cheek leaning on his shoulder as you watched the guy slip off his beverage-soaked glove, “didn’t the stats say Soongu is just another D-rank killer though?”

“Not it from my observation.” Nathaniel huffed. “He had some untapped potential. Having him on my team would be… beneficial.”

You tilted your head. “For…?”

“Taking down Peter,” he looked a little irritated at your constant questioning, but ultimately decided not to show that frustration. Instead, Nathaniel’s raspy voice took on what seemed to be a teasing note; his lips curled up into an easy-going smile as the man flicked your forehead.

“So much for your plastic surgery idea, princess.”

“Ow—!” You squealed, touching the violated skin; he wasn’t even using force and you could already feel a bump rising. “What do you mean? So it wasn’t him?”

“It’s real skin from what I felt.” Nathaniel ran a hand over his hair. “Tch, whatever. When he shows up tomorrow, I’ll definitely find out.”

Tomorrow. You tucked your legs further under your chin, eyes still trained on him.

“Hyun Il.”

“?”

The Apostle turned his head towards you.

“You’re 100% likely to die.”

“Doubtful, aren’t we?”

You let out a giggle. “You wanna hear me say it?”

Nathaniel’s gaze hardened. “I will win.”

A sigh left your lips as you stared up at the dark sky above. It was a relatively starless night, but there were still some lonely orbs twinkling if you squinted hard enough.

Some saw themselves as the sun—the center of this universe with planets orbiting around them. Constantly striving for a new high. Yet there were bound to be limits. A wall in between. Something, someone who might just show up one day and render all of their efforts useless.

At your inquiry, Raphael's brows drawn together in a way that reminds you of Nathaniel. Then again, frustration doesn't have a second face.

"Tch, nothing at all." His grip around your shoulders tighten. "That bastard vanished without a trace."

All the killers dying… so that really was Peter's doings. You've seen the outcome from miles away, yet who is to say the result doesn't baffle you in the slightly? What Glory Club is dealing with here is no longer a human being.

Confessions of a Drunk Avenger (Bucky x reader)

This is my first fanfiction. I don’t think it’s that good but I tried. Lol.

(Y/N) goes out with the girls and they end up playing a game of Never have I ever. They end up getting very drunk and (Y/N) makes a confession to a certain Super Soldier.

Just another day in the Avengers tower. Everyone was in the living room doing their own thing. Pietro was watching Vision and Wanda on the smaller couch across the room. They were talking and bring all cute. Tony and Bruce were doing some experiments while Rhodey watched, possibly to make sure they didn’t create another killer robot that wants humanity dead. Natasha and Clint were looking at pictures of baby Nathaniel. Peter was doing his math homework with a little help from (Y/N). Sam was playing on his phone since no one wanted to play pool with him. Thor was stuffing his face with pop tarts and as usual, Loki had his nose in a book. Steve was embracing his artistic side since there was no immediate threat to the world. Bucky just sat on a chair watching Friends that (Y/N) had suggested he watch. Bucky hadn’t been there long, only a few months. He reconnected with Steve and was starting to feel like himself with every day that went past. He and (Y/N) clicked right away, no matter what he had done in the past or however many times he almost killed her after his night terrors, she never once looked at him any differently than she did the day before. (Y/N) and Steve were the only ones that.

(Y/N) helped him adjust to the 21st century and he became her best friend instantaneously.

"I'm so bored" Pietro groaned.

"Let's play a game" Wanda added.

"What do you think (Y/N)?" Steve asked.

She wasn’t paying attention. She was too busy looking at Peter’s homework to notice everyone staring at her.

“(Y/N)!” Tony shouted

“What?” she asked as she looked around

“Do you have any ideas what game we should play?” asked Steve

“Nope. Besides, don’t you guys have reports to fill? Ooh, I was thinking about a girls night out though. Sharon and Hill are in. Nat, you in?”

  3 hours later the boys saw the girls stumbling out the elevator. Laughing their heads off. Sharon is the least drunk having not started at the same time and Pepper not being as wild as the rest of them was also pretty sober.

“That doesn’t sound right.” Said (Y/N) scrunching her face as if she was deep in thought, until she spotted Tony “Daddy bear.” She hugged him

“Yes sweet pea?” asked Tony as he hugged her back. She pulled away.

“You and Mama get up to some pretty funky shit.” She said pointing at him

Clint laughs. “Like what?”

“Well, Mama said that he gave her…” she was cut off by Pepper’s hand over her mouth making her voice muffled.

 Steve looked at Sam and laughed mouthing ‘What does that mean?’  Sam just shrugged as Bucky rolled his eyes.

 “Can I tell you a secret? Big secret.” She indicates with her hands “Does it count as a secret if like 7 people know about it? Anyway as long as Buckybear never knows. I love him. Like really love him, his name too. James. It’s so sexy. I don’t get why he doesn’t like it. His arm is so cool literally like when I’m really hot I like to cuddle it but he don’t like touching me with it in case he – uh he--.” (Y/N) yawns and then falls asleep on Bucky’s shoulder as he sits there in shock.

“Did she just-? What happened.” asked Bucky

 “She just confessed her feelings to you Buck.” Said Steve

“Crap, she’s gonna kill us.” Said Sharon looking to Pepper

"I never thought she'd love me too." Bucky said

"Ha, I knew it." Said Steve

“We all knew it. She wasn’t exactly subtle about it.” Said Nat

"So what are we gonna do when she wakes up?" asked Bucky

"Well she probably won't remember all this but hopefully now you'll finally ask her out." Said Sharon

"I hope so.” He replied with a big smile on his face.

“Not without my permission, Tin man.” Said Tony

“Tony, come on. She’s 24 years old and capable of making her own decisions. And she’s more than capable to protect herself.” Said Pepper

 The next morning (Y/N) woke up on her bed. She couldn’t remember ever going to bed or changing for that matter. She groaned as the bright morning sun spilt through her bedroom. Her eyes having to adjust to the harsh light. After they had, she got up and showered.

 After her shower she headed downstairs and everyone stopped and stared at her.

“What?” she asked

“Are you hungover?” asked Pietro

“Screw you Pietro.” She replied

“Maybe later, princessa.” He winked. She rolled her eyes and went into the kitchen to get a glass of water and take a few painkillers. She come back in with the glass of water and sat beside Sharon opposite Bucky.

“Shaz. Why is everybody staring at me? What did you guys do?”

“It’s not what we did sweetie.” Said Pepper

“Okay what did I do? Give a stranger a lap dance or something.” The girls exchanged a few glances to each other before Steve answered for them “Not a stranger.”

(Y/N) furrowed her eyebrows “How would you know you weren’t there?” asked (Y/N)

“Actually it’s what you did when we come back here.” Said Nat

“What-”

“You told Barnes that you loved him.” Said Pietro earning a smack from his sister “Ow”

(Y/N) got up and ran out back to her room.

 She went to the furthest corner and curled up into a ball crying. Would this crumble the friendship they had?

She was pulled out of her thoughts when there was a knock at her door.

“Go away.” She yelled

“(Y/N), it’s me.” She gasps Bucky “Can I come in?”

“Fine.” She said

Bucky slowly opened the door and looked around the room for her. When he found her he gently made his way over to her. He slowly held out his hand for you to take and placed the other hand on your waist pulling you into a hug. He pulled away and placed his finger under your chin and lifted your head up so you were looking at him.

"(Y/N), I need to know... I need to know if what you said last night is true."

She just stared into his eyes for a long time before looking away.

"Doll please, please, please tell me." He was practically begging.

"Yes." She mumbled

 "What?"

 "Yes Bucky I really truly love you. I know it's crazy you’re my best friend and you prob-"

Before she could finish Bucky connected his lips to hers. It was soft and sweet. So much better than she ever imagined it could be. She let a hand play with his hair lightly as his arms were around her waist. Bucky was her first real kiss and her best friend. She never thought she would fall in love, let alone with her best friend.

She opened her chocolate eyes to see his smile lighting up her room.

“In case it wasn’t obvious, doll. I feel the same way.” He said
