It occurred to me that I never (actually never???) drew all the Sweet Beak Bakery people together so bam fixed. (Yes, Flint makes everyone look small. No, he's just 2,3 meters tall)

(Refs under cut which I did not post before because I wanted to do all of these at once!)

Amber got a new tenta-cut which everyone already knows about because I've drawn it like a billion times since. But did you know she's got a super cute shirt with human bones on it?

It took me one billion years to get to Kombu's ref because I think I took late December off from doing refs, and I wanted to design him a mobility device to put IN the ref, but just ended up doing it without that because I had zero brain juices going on and it was just going to not happen ever basically. But good news, I DID finally design one yesterday:

It floats, Obviously. (I still need to name it, because he would 100% have a random pet name for it as he does for like every vehicle and his imagination is better than mine, which is an issue)

Flint's main color is dark purple so that's what his ref is primarily but turns out he's (surprisingly) like the most colorful guy I have to the point that I needed to include three colors because he switches consistently several times a day.

HELLO!!! i usually don't send messages but i just received word of a 2014 larry moment and you are my favorite blog so i immediately ran over here! so basically i just met my brother's girlfriend and i was talking to her about harry (as i do) and she said that she is also a fan and went to live and love on tour. she then mentioned casually how she MET him back in 2014 because she worked for sugarscape. THE. ICONIC. SUGARSCAPE. being the larrie i am, i asked if she saw anything between harry and louis ... i told her to tell me everything in detail (your welcome), but it was a very short moment. based off of how she described what harry was wearing, i can conclude that it was the day of those interviews he did with liam playing those games (this is a link if you don't remember: https://youtu.be/wOoMYCPiFgo?si=I16RtV7BNuPX-DSA) ... she said that it was only harry, liam, and the 1d team in the room during the interviews. however, after they finished and everyone was cleaning up/about to leave, louis came in but kind of just waited in the corner of the room not wanting to disturb - she said that harry was shaking everyone's hand INCLUDING HER'S. After harry finished thanking and chatting with everyone louis gave harry a small bag (she said that it looked like a bakery type bag that would be holding a small food). when louis gave it to him he said "here babes" and as they were leaving she said that louis had his hand around harry's waist but A LITTLE IN HIS JEANS. LIKE FINGERTIPS IN HIS JEANS. she told me that harry was the nicest out of everyone and was very pretty. she said when he noticed louis standing in the back of the room he rushed over smiling. was it because of the food, or was it because of louis haha ... so yeah. that is it. i have never in a million years thought i would be able to share something like this. she has a photo with them (liam and harry) from that day but i am not going to share it because because she is in it.

it is all so crazy because those interviews are like my favorite 1d interviews because harry is just so himself and funny - so now knowing more about that day, my life is fulfilled!!!!

Broody Harpy/PokeHybrid Husbands are fun, but honestly consider how'd they would react if S/O was the broody one instead (or at least even more so than them). If I laid that egg then it's MINE lmao

Staraptor Larry lets you have it. His instincts may have been driving him wild, but seeing you caring for the egg on your own calms them. He finally feels like he can return to work after abruptly having to call off. Though, he now has another instinct. His portion sizes are suddenly a lot larger. You get brought left-overs as he feels his duties are temporarily done.

Honchkrow Cyrus freezes. He wants to let you. He desperately wants to just let you take care of the egg and return to his normal life. Yet, he cannot. The hybrid will be nearby, and if you have to get up for anything, expect to return to him having claimed your spot. Let him have it for a while. He needs to. His brain is flooding him with brutal instinct. You can take turns. He will negotiate after he gets it out of his system. The urge to brood, he understands, but he is being driven into a new kind of madness. Unless you want a war… (He is unmovable.)

Togekiss Volo feels freed. He has been allowed to abandon these instinctual duties (so he thinks). You clearly have some competence in handling the egg. His obsession with knowledge will be satiated momentarily again. Then, other instincts enter his mind, and he returns with a terrifying amount of food and exhaustion on his eyes. He asks to swap out while you eat.

Archeops Emmet huffs but allows it. He understands. It is fine. He can go do other things. Like his job. Or battles. You are later brought countless sweets and watch a tired bird man pass out beside you. He went all over Nimbasa to different bakeries to bring back food for you. There are a few sandwiches in there, somehow.

Archeops Ingo is tortured. Hurt. He lets you, but he is so sad. Whatever puffed up feathers he had sink down while he looks utterly dejected. There is an attempt to indulge his other instincts, like getting food for you, but he simply wishes to brood. Just for a while. Now, you may wish to brood, but can you handle sad train man eyes while he watches you take care of the egg?

Description: Y/n goes to spencers house to ask spencer if he has any vanilla extract when theres a possible gas leak and no ones allowed to leave their aparment until the morning when someone can come check it out..

"knock knock knock" 

Spencers attention was pulled from his book by the sound a of a knock at the door. Wondering who it was- Spencer hoisted himself from his comfortable spot on the large leather couch to answer the door. 

“creakkk”

as the light of the hallway bled into the much more dimly lit apartment, a man in sweatpants, a white shirt that read “bad-ass baker” is a rainbow font (u know the meme font im talking abt), and an apron with bits of flower and egg splattered over it.

“hi im so sorry spencer- but i really need some vanilla extract- im on my last batch of cookies and i ran out. I would ask if it wasn’t super necessary but since i had to close my bakery because its under renovations right now, so to make money i’ve been doing orders and making them from home and i need to get these cookies done tonight im so sorry-“

���i have vanilla..”

spencer cut off his neighbors rambling, silently inviting him inside while he fetched the vanilla.

“thank you so much by the way, i can make you something as thanks!”

y/n stood awkwardly behind the couch, eyes surveying the room. spencers back was to the common area, his arm outstretched to reach the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet. Spencers body language was comfortable, as he and y/n had been friends since he moved in 2 years ago, and he knew the baker well. spencer knew him as the neighbor with silly shirts and a bakery, and the neighbor that gave him the extras that didnt get sold at the end of the day in little plastic take out containers. 

“Oh no its okay the leftovers from your bakery are thanks enough”

spencer said with a chuckle, and y/n laughed too. And just as spencer was walking over both y/n and his phones dinged from the pocket of y/ns apron and the coffee table where spencer had left it when he got the door. Y/n pulled out his phone, seeing a text from the landlord. As y/n read his face fell, getting the attention of spencer and causing him to ask;

“What? Is something wrong?”

“check your texts- Larry sent something about how we cant leave our apartments..”

The look on spencers face was one of confusion, and he grew even more confused when he read the text detailing that no one was to leave their apartment- at any cost because of a possible gas leak, meaning they had to send people to check in the morning- but until then Larry didn’t want to risk it. 

“soooooo.. what do i do know?”

y/n looked to spencer for guidance, wondering what to do. spencer didn’t quite know either, but being the rule follower he is he decided the best course of action was for y/n to stay. He also knew the statistics of gas leaks and how dangerous they could be- so he wasn’t taking any chances. 

“well, i dont know how safe it is to be in the hallways right now, its probably best if you stay here until morning, or at least for a couple hours until Larry can get someone in here to check it out..”

now if this was most anyone else y/n would’ve just declined and held his breath while he walked the 10 feet to his door down the hall, but this was spencer. And much to no ones surprise, y/n had been crushing on the FBI agent from afar for 6 months now. He was in love with his style, his apartment (from what he’d seen), his face, his hair. Y/n had a tendency to romanticize things, just ask his friends, and this was the perfect opportunity. So when spencer proposed he stated over night just to be safe, y/n agreed almost immediately.

“ya i should probably stay the night, just to be safe you know? And by the way, if im staying over night do you mind if i put my apron in your kitchen? i dont wanna get flour on your couch…”

spencer chuckled and nodded, using his chin to point towards the kitchen where y/n could leave his dirtied apron. After y/n left his apron splayed out on the counter, abandoned spencer chuckled at his shirt, which was now visible. When y/n noticed spencers laughs he looked at him confused, following his line of sight, and he was met with his shirt. 

“oh ya- my shirt? i got it as a joke gift from a friend- and i couldn’t help myself”

they both chuckled at this while y/n moved across the room to join spencer where he had taken his spot on the large leather couch back. Y/n plopped down next to spencers, sitting as far away from him as he could without it it being awkward- or at least more awkward than it already was. because little did Y/n know but spencer had been simultaneously admiring y/n from across the hall. And when y/n suggested they watch a show spencer took the opportunity to do away with the awkward silence, suggesting Doctor Who. y/n almost immediately agreed, taking the remote from the coffee table and handing it to spencer to pull up the show. 

Once the show had started, the lights of the TV screen illuminated the room while spencer pulled a blanket out of a basket and spread it out over both y/n and himself. And unconsciously y/n scooted closer to spencer, hoping for more warmth from the soft throw. Or maybe more warmth from spencer, who knows..

After a couple episodes, y/n eyes were beginning droop as he had been up since 5 am, baking. Spencer- the ever profiler- noticed this. But despite the fact that y/ns blinks were gradually gaining length each time- he kept shifting a little bit, trying to get comfortable. And now if it had been a couple hours ago when y/n knocked on the door then spencer would’ve never done it, not in a million, billion years. But now they had been talking and watching their show for at least 2 1/2 hours now, spencer giving facts and corrections, y/n giving opinions, for the pair to then debate upon. And spencer felt confident enough to invite y/n to lean on him.

“ you know, if your tired.. then i dont mind if you wanna lay on me- you must be tired…”

“ya- how did you know..?”

Y/n’s voice was that of someone who was already half asleep, the constant sound of the tv lulling him to sleep before spencer could even answer. But spencer didnt mind- he loved admiring y/n, his face so incredibly peaceful. And he thought to himself, ‘the cookies can wait till morning’, before soon doxing off himself.

How Pokemon S/V characters make a person feel better (mega list):

Iono: Tries to give them a shoutout on their streams or requests the chat to send words of encouragement.

Hassel: Hugs and cries with them until they both calm down (protect this gay old man at all costs).

Grusha: Is very socially awkward about it, but tries to give harsh, but true words of wisdom to get the person back to reality. Does genuinely feel bad, but often has no idea what to say.

Larry: Like Grusha, he is very socially awkward and does feel bad for the person, but doesn't have any idea what to do besides offer to take them to the Treasure Eatery to eat and drink their sorrows away. Larry gives great life advice when the situation calls for it, but too many people see him as "bland" before he can get a chance.

Dendra: Is a hugger and offers to take the person for a run or helps them with her ESP training.

Arven: Tries to help them calm down by letting them vent to him and he even may make you some food to help ease tense emotions.

Penny: Feels very uncomfortable, but tries to give words of comfort.

Nemona: Tries to distract them by battling or motivate if they don't feel like battling or don't have Pokemon.

Geeta: Basically the pragmatic mom friend. She would give master class life advice and make them some tea or coffee to talk over their worries.

Poppy: Literally a child, but would try to relate their worries to something that happened to them in school recently in an attempt to exhibit empathy.

Rika: On the outside, Rika looks like they don't care, but holy crud they are the Ulitmate Parent friend. You need something like coffee, a blanket, a hug, someone to talk to, or anything else? Rika is on it immediately. They don't look like it, but Rika can make most people comfortable with them just with their sense of humor and nonchalant personality. Heck, they might even bring out their Clodsire to cheer the person up because it has never failed before. Rika and Geeta are basically the sages of life advice in all of Paldea.

Tulip: Tries to boost your confidence by telling them not to bother with negative people or toxicity. She would recommend to focus on their positive traits and internal/external beauty. Mini mom friend.

Clavell: The spiritual dad for all Academy students. Not only does he cares deeply about their wellbeing, but tries to relate despite his old age. He would make them some tea and try to make his speech more relaxed to ease their tension.

Miriam: Another big hugger. Will not let them leave until she knows they are alright and safe. Her soft voice can calm the most angry of people.

Katy: Offers them one of her bakery items and tells them life is full of bitter and sweet moments, but overall a delicious treat and not to worry about the small stuff.

Brassius: Like Hassel, he probably will cry with them, but he may suggest taking up a creative outlet to release stress and offers them one of his art classes.

Saguro: Looks like he would make your anxiety worse, but he is a huge softie. His baby pokemon make everyone feel better and he is also a great cook!

I originally meant Pitchfork Larry to be a one-off character but you KNOW that's not happening now. And what's great is he can actually fit in so so so well as the missing piece of Steak Knife's upcoming entry into the story! After his encounter with Stede and Ed, Steak Knife is going to decide to leave behind a life of crime in favor of following his dream to open a cupcake bakery, and Pitchfork Larry is going to be his boyfriend!

Near the end of the story Ed and Stede are going to get invited for dinner over at Steaky's, and Pitchfork Larry will have taken the experience of meeting Stede (someone who not very stereotypically masculine but was still very competent) to heart. He's a very introspective guy, and it will inspire him to realize that he can still find joy and fulfilment in a very masculine self-presentation but that doesn't mean he needs to hide or be ashamed of his sensitive side. He's trying to be a better role model for his young niece.

Stede's like "oooh yeah sorry about...y'know" *mimes bludgeoning him with a blunt object*

And Pitchfork Larry will very seriously put a hand on Stede's shoulder and go "Bonnet. Trying to bash my skull in with a whimsical whale-shaped lawn ornament was the best thing you ever could've done for me"

Assorted name / nickname headcanons

Arven is a huge fan of adding -ito to the end of things and has a nickname for just about everyone. Is it because he just can't remember their names? ... maybe.

He also can't get Giacomo's name right to save his life. "Penny's friend Giuseppe" is not pleased about this

Penny's full name is Penelope, not that you'd ever know because no one calls her that

Katy's full name is Katharine, but Kofu always called her Katy so she continues to use the name in association with her bakery as a nod to his teaching

Tyme is actually the LAST name of the sisters. The academy teacher goes by her last name, while the rapper goes by her stage name. This makes the rapper's full name "Ryme Tyme", which both sisters think is HYSTERICAL

Larry's full name is Laurence. The only person who calls him that is Geeta when she's mad at him. Rika thinks this is REALLY funny, but Larry does not agree

"Hass" and "Brassie" are only ever used by the other. Just try calling Brassius "Brassie" and you'll learn just how withering a side eye can be from a man with no eyebrows

Hassel does his absolute damnedest to never use his last name. He has distanced himself from his family and prefers it when people don't use his clan name

In terms of academy staff: Hassel, Jacq, Miriam, and Dendra go by their first names, while Clavell, Raifort, Tyme, Saguaro, and Savatore go by their last names. I have... not come up with headcanons for their first names yet

Clavell's first name is Leopold, but the professors used to call him Leo. He prefers to go by his last name now. Memories and whatnot

Pokemon Violet - The Paldea League and Geeta

Man, Geeta has turned Paldea into kind of a shitshow, hasn't she?

Discussion/stream of thought rambling on elements of the game's story after the jump. Spoilers ahoy. This is about the story and lore implications, not about the combat-based mechanics of the Pokemon League.

The actual purpose and function of the Pokemon League throughout the various incarnations of the Pokemon franchise over the years have always been a little muddy. That's on purpose, I believe, as it allows more creative freedom for each version to define itself. In the earlier games, the Pokemon League was a sort of trial to prove one's worth as a Trainer exclusively. It had no impact on the lives of anyone other than combat-focused Trainers. As time went on and the stories became more complex, we saw the League turn into a more public element that had a greater impact on its setting. The Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and the League Champion became public figures of renown and respect. It varied from being local celebrities to even being something akin to vigilante superheroes. By the time we got to Alola (Sun/Moon), it was shown that establishing a Pokemon League is both A) something a region does entirely on its own for its own purposes and B) something that will put a region on the map. Having a League brings prestige and value to the area. This is never more overt than in Galar (Sword/Shield) where the entire Gym circuit and Pokemon League is a heavily commercialized professional sport that directly parallels fútbol here in the real world in terms of its popularity, scope, and money-making. As time has gone by, we've seen the Pokemon League become less of a rite of passage and more of a business.

The Pokemon League in Paldea, meanwhile, cranks that up to 11 and breaks the knob off. And that is to the utter detriment of literally everyone.

As has been frequently observed, the Gym Leaders of Paldea don't actually seem to like being Gym Leaders and certainly don't like the Champion, Chairman, and Creator of the Paldea League; Top Champion Geeta. She's their boss and behaves as such, keeping a professional and detached attitude toward them and everything else she does. The various Gym Leaders discuss how much she micromanages them and puts pressure on them for performance. On one hand, she enforces performance reviews several times a year that risk a Gym Leader losing their role if they don't meet her standards. On the other hand, Geeta ordered Katy - the Bug Gym Leader - to hold back and go easy on Trainers who challenge her because her Gym just so happens to be near to the academy where newbie Trainers might be discouraged if she was too tough. Geeta even controls what teams of Pokemon the Gym Leaders use. Larry is a Normal-type Trainer by his own preference, but Geeta forces him to use Flying-types later in the game.

We can be generous when we examine these behaviors, given how the Gym Leaders themselves offer a more gracious view of Geeta's behavior after you defeat them. They give the impression that Geeta's meddling is the result of a genuine, if poorly implemented, desire to encourage them and young Trainers to achieve more. I don't necessarily disagree with that, but it's also abundantly clear that Geeta is running Paldea into the ground and actively abusing everyone around her in the process. Young Trainers included.

Despite the Gym Leaders having that as their job, it's also a point worth noting that it's not their only job. Every Gym Leader has another job - they run a bakery, are a professional artist, a livestream internet celebrity, or pull double/triple duty within the League itself. Larry is simultaneously a Gym Leader, a member of the Elite Four, and some form of administrative agent within the League. And, yes, he is exactly as exhausted, over-worked, and spiritually beaten down as one would think. It's never explicitly stated why this is the case, but it's clear that being a Gym Leader doesn't pay the bills. As in, Geeta is not paying her employees sufficiently to make a living in the amazingly generous and socially supportive world that is the Pokemon Setting. Larry makes mention of how Geeta likes to rope people into doing her work for her, or just working for free, which we not only see but experience ourselves firsthand.

At the beginning of the game, the very first time we meet Geeta, she's talking Nemona - a teenage student who is not her employee - into doing work for her. At the end of the game, Geeta volunteers the League to aid in setting up a tournament, but immediately puts all the admin work on Nemona - to the point that Nemona can't participate in the event, despite battle being the one thing she loves most in the world. When we the Player become a Champion (not The Champion, A Champion - Geeta never surrenders her title as Top Champion and just bestows a lesser title on those who beat her), the first thing she does is rope us into doing her performance review of the Gyms for her. She also blackmails Penny into doing free programming work against her will to help the League. Arven, meanwhile, is not given any task because Geeta doesn't see him as useful, so he's specifically ignored as comedic relief.

On top of all this is the fact that Geeta is also on the Academy's board. She has a massive amount of influence over the school, its staff, and its students. This becomes a particular issue given how Geeta has fully integrated the Pokemon League into the local economy.

Something exclusive to Paldea is something called "League Points". This is a digital currency in-universe that can be used to purchase various goods and services from League-sponsored sources. That is to say, literally every market in the entire setting with the specific exception of individual auctions of rare items outside the standard economy. Even the student store and cafeteria use League Points. To be blunt, it's Company Scrip. The Player does things that the League wants done (combating Pokemon, trading in useful materials, challenging Gyms, doing research on Tera Raids, etc), they're given Company Scrip, and they then spend that Scrip at vendors the Pokemon League owns or subsidizes. Anyone with even a hint of common sense or a knowledge of history knows how this is an EXTREMELY BAD THING as a practice. Made all the worse by the fact Penny is able to very easily hack into the system and illegally produce/distribute all the League Points she likes, meaning it's not even a particularly well-designed system.

Going to the "villain plot", despite Geeta absolutely not being considered a villain and the story technically not having a villain at all: there's allusions in the game lore that Geeta is directly involved in the Tera outbreak plaguing the region - that is to say, a massive environmental threat endangering the entire population and region itself - and that she helped set it into motion for how it would empower the League. Tera Orbs - the proprietary and exclusive technology needed to use this game's gimmick - are held only by the League, Gym Leaders, and specific Trainers approved by Geeta. Using them is ultimately detrimental to Pokemon, Trainers, and Paldea as a whole, but that doesn't stop Geeta from distributing them as suits her needs.

Even going back to the earlier notion of looking at Geeta's actions with a generous gaze and giving her the benefit of the doubt, I'm left unable to reconcile that given the outcome. Geeta herself says everything she does is for the sake of making Trainers stronger and encouraging others to achieve great things. Yet her actions - both as a League member and personally - weaken and hinder everyone around her. The Player becomes stronger despite everything Geeta sets in place and for their own reasons. It's stated in-game that the vast majority of Trainers in Paldea never get more than three badges, and Geeta herself states that she's unable to hold back against anyone who challenges her because she enjoys the thrill too much. As a result, Nemona and the Player are the only other Champions to exist in Paldea since Geeta's been running the show. Also, not even beating all the Gyms is enough to qualify one to challenge the League; Geeta enforces an interview and, if you don't answer questions to their satisfaction (specifically to their satisfaction - if you just answer earnestly and not say what Geeta wants to hear, you fail), then you're denied access to the League outright.

On top of all of this? I know I said I wasn't going to talk about the combat mechanics, but it is relevant in this case. The Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, and Top Champion Geeta herself are... well, to be completely frank? They're weak. Like, laughably weak. Geeta has a team composition that doesn't make any sense and is designed in a way that intentionally sabotages her combat viability. I wasn't even significantly over-leveled or relying on clever strategies, and I utterly steamrolled every single challenge with just my Grass-type Starter Pokemon and the occasional swap to my Salazzle when I was feeling bored. I didn't even bother with type match-ups or using the Tera gimmick. Amusingly enough, Larry gave me the most trouble - he got two whole hits on me in the midst of his steam rolling. The Gyms and League are simply... weak. All because of Geeta's endless meddling. And even the characters themselves seem frustrated and resentful about it. For all of Geeta's talk about wanting to make Trainers stronger, everything she does actively weakens everyone around her and herself.

What we end up with is a Pokemon League that's centered around one person's goals and ideals, that's forcing everything and everyone around it to bend to that person's whims. All in a way that's actively undercutting those desired goals in the process. If Geeta is trying to make the Paldea League a major player for the sake of gaining a better standing for the region, she's doing a cataclysmically bad job of it. I really hope we get a lot more lore in the upcoming DLC expansion because Geeta's left all kinds of questions that really need addressing.

The day marked your anniversary with Yumi.

You knew exactly how you wanted to celebrate it with him: convice the boys to get Yumi out the house for a few hours so that you could bake a banger of a homemade cake to surprise him with!

You had been secretly practicing your baking and decorating skills for a while now. From watching endless "tips and tricks" videos on youtube, to even sneaking out to a local bakery that provided cake decorating classes. You had this in the bag.

You woke up early in the morning, slowly leaning off the bed and tiptoeing out the door to the bathroom. You took a looong shower, and even longer searching for the best outfit to wear for the occasion.

As you walked back into your room after getting dressed, you picked up your phone off the charger, checking your notifications. Yumi started to stir, waking up from his slumber and leaning out of bed. He embraced you from behind, his hands slinking to your waist as he snuggled his head into the back of your neck.

"Good morning," you let out a light laugh, lifting your hand to rub his cheek and hair behind you. You clicked your phone off, sliding it into your pocket.

"You smell so good.." Yumi yawned, his voice low from fatigue.

"Thank you!" You smiled, turning your head to the side to see him. You couldn't help but lean into his embrace.

"Happy Anniversary," Yumi lifted his head, kissing your cheek.

"Happy Anniversary," You repeated. Yumi let go of you and started to inch to his dresser to dig for a change of clothes. You left the room to give him privacy.

As you walked out, you could already hear your housemates in the livingroom. You walked down the hall, and sparked into a chat with them, going over the pre-discussed plan. When you heard the whine of the door to you and Yumi's room, you quieted down and acted natural, separating from the others to grab a water bottle from the fridge.

You could already hear Larry and Tanner asking Yumi to go out to the mall with them, and you held back a laugh.

After a while, the three left and Isaac and Nick stayed home with you.

As soon as you heard the car leave the driveway, you bolted to the fridge, pushing past the boxes of Bodyarmor and jars of different jams and pickles to grab the hidden pack of strawberries and whipped cream. Nick dug in the cabinet for everything else you needed beside you, Isaac standing at the kitchen counter, pulling out bowls and measuring cups.

With everything arranged on the counter, you clapped your hands together in thought.

"Okay, let's get this started!" You smiled, joyously going ahead to grab a pack of flour. Nick and Isaac stood on stand-by, available to aid you whenever you needed but giving you enough space to work.

You feverishly baked, making a delicious handmade vanilla cake and whipped frosting. When it was time to start decorating, you carefully cut slabs of strawberries and piped out the blinding white frosting.

The cake was perfect, and you couldn't help but beam at your craft. Isaac and Nick helped you transport it into the fridge, and you went ahead and texted Larry and Tanner that you were finished up.

While waiting for the two to bring Yumi back to the house, you slumped onto the couch and around a half hour or so of scrolling on your phone, you heard the clack of the front door, and jumped up.

Yumi walked inside the house first, his hand behind his back. You turned your head sideways as your eyebrow raised.

"And what is that.." An impish smile formed on your mouth.

"Oh, nothing," Yumi looked at the ceiling, acting clueless. He couldn't hold back his own smile.

You back off and into the kitchen, everyone else besides you and Yumi going back to their rooms for the rest of the day until dinner time. Yumi slid the bags he held on the floor by the counter. You couldn't see them from behind the counter where you stood.

"I have a surprise for you," You turned around to face the fridge.

"As do I," Yumi replied. "You go first, of course."

You opened the fridge, retrieving the cake you meticulously worked on. You spun around, showing the cake off to Yumi. His jaw dropped, the corners of his mouth turned up.

"Oh my god, you made that?!?" He practically shouted, leaning over the kitchen counter to see it closer.

You pulled the cake back toward you, and walked to the corner of the counter, going to set it infront of Yumi.

Now, you always considered yourself not particularly a clumsy person, and you could swear that you had the cardboard base of the cake held tightly, but when you stepped forward and your foot got caught on essentially nothing, the cake sliding right off the base and to the ground, you couldn't help but second guess yourself.

You both stood there, staring at the new mess on the ground. You felt your eyes sting, cheeks starting to go numb. You couldn't even make an interjection.

Yumi in the moment tried to reach for the cake, but ultimately missed. His hand retracted back to himself, and he looked at you.

"Hey, hey, it's okay," he quickly ran over the cake and held your shoulder, grabbing your face to look at him. "Look at me. It's okay"

"I.." your eyes drifted back to the cake, tears already streaming down. Yumi tugged at your head again, making your eyes refocus on him.

"Don't even look at that. Look at me, its okay." His face went serious, and he lifted his hand to wipe your tears. He leaned to kiss your forehead

"I'm so sorry, Yumi, i.." You started up again, but he shushed you.

"Forget about it, it's okay. I should've caught it anyway," he kept his head on top of yours, closing his eyes as he rested on you.

"No, no, it's not your fault," You spoke, nesting under him.

"Hey, You know what, now my surprise will work out," He lifted his head and looked at you, smiling.

"What do you mean?" He walked back to the bag he set down earlier, lifting it onto the counter. He dug into it, took out a large white box, and set it on the counter in front of you.

"What is.." you started, looking at the box confused.

"Just open it," Yumi leaned on the counter, smiling. You brought your hands up, quickly wiping your face as you sniffled and opened the box.

Inside was a heart-shaped pink cake absolutely covered in icing flowers. In the middle was iced "I love you so much". You gasped, cupping your mouth and feeling the tears stream down your face once again.

"Oh my god, Yumi-" you turned and crashed right into a hug with him, embracing him as you sobbed tears of joy, love, and frustration into his chest. He laughed, patting your back as he hugged you back.

You backed off, and Yumi turned back around to take a small box out of the bag and moved the cake box aside, sliding the smaller one infront of you.

"You didn't have to get me a gift," you laughed. He just smiled and urged you to open it. The box was white with a thin, bright ribbon. You slipped the ribbon off, lifting the top of the box off to reveal an ornate, absolutely beautiful necklace. It was in the shape of a heart.

"Aweee.." you cooed, taking it out of the box and admiring it in your hands. Yumi just smiled, and kissed your forehead.

"I knew you'd like it.. here, let me see it," You gave him the necklace and turned around. He reached the necklace around your neck, clasping it on. You reached up to it and touched it to your fingers.

When you turned back to him, you couldn't help but just.. stare at him. The love that overwhelmed your body would never quell.

Uhh kind of a long post, read more after first 5

- Geeta is Paldean but spent a good chunk of her years studying abroad in Galar

- Katy and Rika used to date back in highschool but broke up after spending less and less time together when in college

- Rika is a lesbian and she's very popular with women, Katy knows about that

- Katy is bi!

- Dendra used to dream of being a fighting type gym leader but as time passes she realized she really enjoys teaching

- Iono sometimes does social media stuff for the Paldean league under Geeta's leadership, she still focuses more on her streaming career though

- Iono has met a lot of people thanks to her streaming job, she has done collaborations with a bunch of her coworkers (gym leaders), the only ones that refused were Grusha, Brassius and Larry

- Grusha isn't close to his coworkers at all, at most, he spends time with Ryme when he visits her gym's town

- Tulip, after meeting Rika, has DEFINITELY flirted with her, but always ends up rejected

- Ryme goes to visit the academy more often than other gym leaders because of Tyme being a teacher there

- Iono and Grusha don't like each other, it's mostly Grusha but Iono gets worked up easily

- Arven still struggles to process the events of the game, Saguaro helps him and gets him an internship at Kofu's restaurant
