I had the opportunity to attend the dress rehearsal for the King and I at the La Mirada Theatre. Here are my thoughts and review of the performance. This old photo from 2016 popped up in my Facebook timeline - which was kind of weird, as I was thinking about that night earlier this week and how much the world has changed since then. I attended this event (that was hosted by the La Mirada Symphony) and included staged performances from Broadway talent. I knew next to nothing about the organization, but being a sucker for new experiences I attended it and had a great time. Little did I know that a year from that date I would be the organization's president...and trying to balance the symphony with work, an ever-changing world, cartooning, and a refocus on my priorities. I also had kind of an interesting conversation with Paul Williams...I won't go into detail about it but it did resonate with me, and I still think about it every so often.
