Another illustrator abstraction exercise

Unfortunately I didn’t take process screenshots so the link is kinda hard to see. The repeated lines were from the plastic engine vent. Which I thought also looked like tire tread in the ground. But then it looked like type that said ‘espresso’. So I drew a coffee mug with geometric steam. Roughed up a typeface inspired by the lines. Making a font is something I have never really tried seriously. Its definitely a problematic font but for my first try in a couple minutes- i’m happy.

I took this photo at Motorclassica 2019. The Fiat x1/9 (car pictured) is designed by my favourite car design studio, Bertone. An Italian studio full of historical designers, responsable for iconic concept and production cars such as the Lamboghini Countach and Lancia Stratos. So my transformation here remains in the same geography at-least.
