We all know Aiden's Wolf is both a polyglot and really prone to cursing (Aiden would probably phrase it as 'Lam has a very talented tongue' and winking as suggestively as possible while he says it!)

I was inspired a little while back by this post about playing bingo with Witcher ships - there are a bunch of fun tropes common to LambertxAiden on one of the cards! I dunno if I'll make 'bingo' yet, but the idea for this popped into my mind when I looked at the card and I had to draw it! (I apologize if any of the cursing doesn't make sense - I do not speak nearly as many languages and Lambert theoretically does and thus used a really quick and not-at-all-thorough google search to some up with placeholder text).)

Summary: Aiden is injured in the course of action and Lambert seeks to assist.

Aiden smiled when he heard the lock turn and the doorknob jiggle.

Right on time.

It had been a long week with both he and Lambert working overtime. Though the couple shared a bed, they’d still barely managed to see each other thanks to their dueling schedules. But now it was Friday night, and they were both off for the weekend and Aiden planned to enjoy every second of it.

There was a lasagna in the oven and a bottle of wine in the fridge and Aiden had just finished running a hot bath for Lambert.

Strong arms wrapped around his waist from behind as he rinsed dishes to put in the washer. Lambert pressed a gentle kiss to the side of his neck, resting his chin on Aiden’s shoulder, “What smells so good in here?”

“Me.”

Lambert snorted, “You bought a new lasagna cologne?”

“I did.”

Lambert laughed loudly, pressing another kiss to Aiden’s neck before pulling away, “Need any help?”

Aiden turned around, leaning back on the counter, taking a moment to enjoying looking at his husband, “No, I’ve got this. And I’ve already got a bath drawn for you so you should go hop in before it gets cold.”

Lambert smiled softly and leaned in to kiss Aiden again, this time on the lips, “What did I do to deserve you?”

“Definitely that thing with your tongue.”

Lambert raised his eyebrows and flicked his tongue out at Aiden before heading to the bathroom to enjoy his bath.

Lambert shuffled out of the bathroom half an hour later, just as the oven timer went off.

He quickly set the table and uncorked the bottle of wine while Aiden finished up with the food. The two settled at the table and dug into their food, Lambert quick to compliment Aiden’s cooking.

Aiden smiled at him, “So, is there anything specific you want to do this weekend?”

Lambert stared at Aiden thoughtfully for a beat before replying, “You.”

Applying BBC Sherlock (the good parts of it anyway) to LambertxAiden - a story concept/perspective absolutely no one asked for

-Aiden is a brilliant witcher like, the deadliest one alive likely, the most skilled in generations. He's a good Cat. Perhaps the best Cat. Like Lambert, he hates being a witcher and he hates what his brothers have become even more. Murderers, thieves, and for-hire assassins that abuse their witcher mutations to operate criminal networks, betray their contractors and drag their whole order through the mud. Aiden gets off on hunting them down. He's manic about it. And he's about the only one capable of tracking down rogue Cats because he knows how they think, what they are. He had all the same training. Mostly, royalty and policing institutions hire him when there's the danger of a Cat witcher wreaking havoc or when one has to be put to justice. Aiden is infamous and they fear him almost as much as they fear his brothers. But he's their best option.

-Aiden never kills a one of them. He hands them over to receive judgment and punishment as the people offended see just. He only wants the good name of his kind to be restored

-Sometimes they aren't Cats. Sometimes it's simple assassins he hunts, sometimes only phantoms. Sometimes it's Elves which puts him into a difficult spot. He doesn't always make the right decisions.

-Yes, he's an addict. Mostly to adrenaline and vodka, sometimes Fisstech or mushrooms if his mind gets ahead of him.

-Now, Lambert and Aiden meet on a plain old witcher contract because sometimes there are droughts in his line of work and Aiden has to make do. Lambert's mostly impressed with his backflips and sharp wit, and he's high on the adrenaline from when the Ogre nearly bashes both their heads in. Later, they get drunk off their asses and it's Aiden's long tirade about other Cats that make Lambert decide to stick around. See where this goes.

-It goes splendidly for a bit there.

-Aiden's greatest rival reveals himself in Jad Karadin, a former comrade gone completely underground for a while. He operates a networks of outcast fighters and ragtag bands of rebels, killers, veterans, mutineers. He too hates Cats. But it doesn't stop there, he wants to eradicate all witchers, wipe them out like dirt stains and he doesn't hand them over to receive fair trial. He butchers every mutant he crosses paths with. Witchers. Sorcerers and sorceresses if he gets the chance. He's a fanatic, a supremacist and he has an empire at his back. A game of Cat and Cat ensues. There's a lot of collateral damage.

-Lambert helps where he can, he loves and supports Aiden where he can, he offers all he has. It isn't enough. There is no keeping up with Aiden's reeling mind, his deadly agility. Most of the times, Lambert finds himself chasing after him. But, and this keeps him coming back, sometimes they are equal. Sometimes, Aiden will want his opinion or will let himself be held through a bad trip or will profess how glad he is to have Lambert to anchor him. And soon enough, Aiden is the only thing Lambert finds himself fighting for. Aiden and his goal of redeeming the Cats.

-Cue: The Duke's Daughter (our own Reichenbach Fall moment here) - Jad Karadin is on Aiden, there's a lot of drama, many threats and most of them boil down to "If you keep meddling where I don't want you, and if you keep convicting Cats, we'll borrow your Wolf and we'll carve him up." Aiden sees no other choice than to fake his own death on a throwaway contract. He does. And Lambert absolutely falls apart.

-What happens next is basically game-compliant: Lambert works his ass off to get over Aiden, he avenges his death, he finds a (incidentally blonde) woman whom he falls in love with and works with, and life - while it's never going to be what it was - is okay. it's fine.

-BUT IS IT THOUGH?

-Aiden's not dead (surprise, bitches), he returns. Lambert is royally pissed, Keira likes him, they arrange their lives somehow

(-I could continue all this with drama from Keira's past and Aiden's inevitable descent into madness but those are the bits of Sherlock I don't much enjoy)

(-on a complete sidenote: Guxart & Vesemir as equivalents of Mycroft & Lestrade)
