Top 5 Tips for Maximizing Functionality in Your Kitchen Cupboard Designs
Kitchen cupboards are the unsung heroes of any kitchen, providing essential storage and organization for a myriad of items. However, maximizing their functionality requires careful planning and design. Here are five tips to help you make the most of your kitchen cupboard designs.
Best Tips for Boosting the Functionality of Your Cupboard Designs
The top tips below will boost the functionality of your cupboard design and ensure you get the most out of it.
Pick the Right Layout
Picking the right layouts is one of the best ways to improve the functionality of your kitchen cupboard designs . There are many different shapes of layouts that you can implement for your cupboard design. These layouts will ensure the best efficiency and create enough room for the other furnishings in your kitchen.
Therefore, you can pick the right layout by understanding how big you want your cupboards to be. Your cupboard layout will influence the other furnishings in your kitchen. Hence, these aspects help you get the best cupboard designs for your dream kitchen.
Make Flatware and Dishware Convenient
You can also improve the functionality of your kitchen cupboard by ensuring that your upper shelves are much more accessible. In this case, you need to position the shelves to a height from where you can easily transfer your dishware and flatware. Your cupboard shelves should improve your convenience, contributing to the overall functionality of your kitchen.
Boost Your Space with Pull-Out Hardware
Cupboards of every kind are an important part of functional storage. And your large pots and pans can take up a lot of space in your cupboard while leaving some inaccessible areas unused. This can happen on your spice shelves, where you can access the spices on the front easily compared to those on the back. In this case, you need to improve the functionality of your cupboard and get the right hardware for them.
You can add racks, trays, or sliding drawers in your cupboard’s interiors and use every space you can find. Such items can help access the spices, pantry items, and pots and pans. When you can access these items easily, you would like to experiment more with your dishes and cook often.
Include a Recycling Cabinet or Pull-Out Garbage Can
Even though you can always put a garbage can beside your cupboard, it is even better to hide it inside your cupboard to make your kitchen look pristine and clear while boosting the functionality of your shelves. In that case, you either have a pull-out garbage can inside your cupboard whenever you need it, or you could get a recycling cabinet near your kitchen sink to allow for easy cleanup when you do the dishes or cook.
Improve Lighting
Even with the kitchen lights on, the contents of your cupboard may not always be visible. In that case, you can install functional lighting inside your cupboard to ensure you can see each item stored in it. Lighting in the interior will also make your cupboard look pleasing and bright, making it easier to find every item.
Do’s for Your Kitchen Cupboards
One of the top do’s for your kitchen cupboards is focusing on functionality. Your cupboards are your long-term investments, which makes it necessary for you to choose a functional and practical style. For instance, you must not choose pretty cupboards that may not provide sufficient storage space. No matter how aesthetically pleasing your cupboards may be, they must also give you the storage space needed for your kitchen materials.
Another thing that you must do to get the best kitchen cupboard design is to pick contrasting colours for your cupboards and other furnishings. Your kitchen will light up if your contrasting colours make every furnishing appealing.
You can craft a stellar kitchen cupboard design using Lakshmi Timbers and Plywood waterproof and fire-resistant plywood.
Conclusion
Maximizing functionality in your kitchen cupboard designs requires thoughtful planning and attention to detail. By choosing the right layout, utilizing vertical space, incorporating organizational tools, customizing for specific needs, and optimizing lighting, you can create a kitchen that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Lakshmi Timbers and Plywood sets the standard for excellence in the wooden door industry. With a steadfast commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and environmental responsibility, they have earned their reputation as the best wooden door supplier in Chennai.

Vastu Tips 2023: Embrace the Significance of a Special Corner in Your Home
Understanding the Importance of the Northeast Direction in Vastu and Following Vastu Shastra Guidelines
Vastu Shastra, the ancient Indian architectural science, emphasizes the alignment of rooms, halls, kitchens, bathrooms, and bedrooms in specific directions within a house. By adhering to these principles, you can create a harmonious living space that is free from Vastu dosh (defects), promoting happiness and overall well-being. It is always beneficial to consult a trusted astrologer in Kolkata for further guidance.
The northeast direction holds great significance in Vastu. It is known as the Ishan Kon, named after Lord Shiva, also referred to as Ishaan. This direction is associated with spirituality, divinity, and enlightenment. It is considered highly sacred and is primarily designated for temples or places of worship within a home.
Here are some important considerations for the northeast direction based on Vastu principles:
The Most Sacred Place:
In Vastu, the area between the North and East directions is called the Ishan Kon. This space is considered the most sacred within any building, believed to be the abode of the divine. Keeping this area clean and pure is essential to invite happiness, peace, good health, and the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth, into your home.
The Importance of Cleanliness:
Maintaining cleanliness in the northeast corner of the house is crucial. Regular cleaning ensures a positive energy flow and creates an environment conducive to spiritual practices and divine connections.
Enhancing Positive Vibrations:
Placing sacred symbols, religious artifacts, or a small altar dedicated to your chosen deity in the northeast corner enhances positive vibrations and spiritual energy within your home. This focal point becomes a place for prayers, meditation, and seeking divine blessings.
Avoiding Negative Influences:
To preserve positive energy, it is advisable to avoid placing clutter, heavy furniture, or objects with negative associations in the northeast direction. Keeping this space clean and uncluttered allows positive energy to flourish and facilitates a deeper connection with the divine.
By honoring the significance of the northeast direction and adhering to Vastu principles, you can create a home filled with positive energy, spiritual harmony, and a sense of well-being. Remember that Vastu Shastra provides guidance for establishing a balanced and auspicious living environment, promoting harmony between the occupants and their surroundings.
Nurturing the Auspiciousness of the Northeast Direction:
Paying attention to the auspiciousness of the northeast corner is vital for a harmonious home. Building a place of worship in the northeast is highly recommended. If you desire prosperity in your household, create a sacred space in the northeast corner for worship. Prayers offered in this area are believed to be accepted by the divine, bringing happiness and abundance to your home.
According to Vastu principles, it is crucial to avoid keeping heavy objects in the northeast corner, as it disrupts the circulation of positive energy and may lead to financial losses. Avoid installing heavy cupboards or storage rooms in this corner to maintain the auspiciousness of the space, which contributes to a positive and vibrant life.
The northeast direction is associated with meditation, making it an ideal location for a children's study room. Studying in this direction aids concentration and fosters an optimal learning environment. Additionally, planting basil and banana plants in this area and regularly worshiping them can bring economic benefits.
Maintaining cleanliness and purity in this direction is of utmost importance. By upholding cleanliness, you preserve the positive energy within your home and prevent the entry of negative energy.
Remember, nurturing the auspiciousness of the northeast direction creates harmony, prosperity, and a positive atmosphere in your living space. By following these guidelines and embracing the sacredness of this corner, you can create a home filled with positive vibrations and invite the blessings of abundance into your life.

De-clutter your home, inner-self this Diwali
What does Diwali mean to you?
Deepawali, the festival of lights, could mean prayers, rituals, shopping, gifting, gorging on sweets and savouries, cleaning and decorating the house, decking up in Indian festive wear or swanky westerns, card parties, drinking, gambling, business opportunities, sales, firecrackers, lights etc. Well! To each his own!
Tumblr media
Most people start cleaning every nook and cranny of their house, several days prior to Diwali. This means turning out all the forgotten crockery, linen, clothes, blankets, books, etc. and clearing the closets, ceilings, carpets and corners of dust, mites, cobwebs etc. Making Rangoli and dainty Lakshmi Charan and putting Diyas at the entrance is the fun part! My mother said that on Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi visits only those homes that are clean, sparkling and decorated. With childlike innocence we followed her words to the last T. I realise now, how that ensured that every inch of the house got cleaned at least once annually. Leaking roofs, moisture in cupboards causing damage to delicate clothes, quilts etc. caused by the monsoon get fixed during Diwali cleaning! Traditional oil lamps cause insects to die and cleanse the atmosphere!
The first day of festivities is Dhanteras. On this day Lord Dhanwantri emerged holding a kalash during the Samudra Manthan. It is believed auspicious to buy metal utensils on Dhanteras. According to people’s pockets they buy gold, silver, copper or clay utensils. Some stretch metal purchases to ornaments and vehicles too. Resultantly the entire economy of the country takes a turn and even the smallest trader earns an extra buck!
The second day is Narak Chaturdashi. It’s the day Lord Krishna annihilated the demon Narakasura. Popular belief encourages one to take an oil massage to overcome the fatigue of Diwali preparations. Well! No harm in a massage to pamper yourself!
The third day is ‘Diwali’ on Amavasya. Lord Ganesha is propitiated for heralding in auspiciousness. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped as the harbinger of wealth and prosperity. The Ramayana documents that Lord Rama returned after fourteen years of exile, to Ayodhya along with Sitaji and Lakshmanji on this day. Being a no moon night, people illumined the pathway to Ayodhya with oil lamps to welcome their beloved Lord. They distributed sweets out of sheer happiness at His return. The jubilation led to song, dance and festivity. There were obviously no crackers in that era.
The fourth day is celebrated as Govardhan Puja and Vishwakarma Day. Lord Krishna had lifted the Govardhan Parvat on His little finger to shelter the cowherds, milkmaids, cattle etc. from the deluge caused by Indra. Craftsmen worship the divine architect Vishwakarma and their tools on this day. I think of it as a day to rest after the hectic activities of Diwali.
The fifth day is Bhai Dooj. Lord Yama had visited his sister Yamuna with gifts on this day. The tradition continues with brothers visiting their sister’s homes with gifts. Perhaps with so much happening on Diwali, it’s hard for men to visit their married sisters, so the day has been earmarked!
Well! Whatever Diwali means to you, do look deeper into the soul of the festivities. While cleaning your home to invite the Gods, sweep out greed and pettiness. While decorating your home, embellish your persona with contentment and devotion. When you binge on goodies, spare some for the lesser fortunate; they would value them! Cleaning our persona is paramount because the Lord resides only in sparkling pure hearts. When you light diyas, light up your face with a smile and burn your vices and anger. Refrain from crackers and let your eyes do the twinkling. Be kind to the planet!
And when you light a lamp in your mandir, light one in your mann- mandir too, so that whoever you meet, feels the light emanating from the temple of your heart. Emerge victorious over your negativities and radiate light and love. That is the true meaning of Diwali!
A slightly concise version of this piece has been published in HT on 23.10.2022.

The humble jhadu and how to manifest Wealth
Tumblr media
Honestly I'm not saying this will fix all your money woes but I do share some practices and rituals from my culture that peole have practiced over the generations. Our faith powers these rituals. Usually in a Pooja, a hindu ceremony performed by a trained and devoted priest, offerings may be made based on ancient texts. The reason I share this is because I just thought that this little spell in my copy of Shadow and light oracle messages had so much in common with some customs and beliefs in the festival associated with the Hindu Goddess of Wealth.
Tumblr media
Out, out and from within, We cleanse this space from trouble and din. Out, out let all begone and make this place a cheerful home! We are here to cleanse and clean, we are creatures in between. We will work from dusk till dawn, to ensure that energy is reborn. We leave it clear, and bright, and blank, and for this task we ask no thanks but we do wish you well in this: May all you brought in create your bliss
In Hinduism, it's believed that the broom is the abode of Goddess Lakshmi (wealth).
In a lot of cultures, we are advised to wash, bathe, cleanse right before prayer. This removes stagnant energy.
Burning sage / incense sticks, camphor / kapoor is said to drive out toxic energy/ negative influences and I'll meaning entities.
I have memories of the elders obsessively cleaning, wiping the house, cupboards, insides of the bed and every single imaginable thing right before Diwali. It takes almost a month and is backbreaking labour. We do this because it's believed that the Goddess of Wealth doesn't visit if she finds the house inhospitable. Aka dirty / messy.
The day before Diwali, Dhanteras is considered auspicious and people buy gold or new utensils. It's said that buying something new for the house (like a plate or cups to drink from, we try not to buy knives or destructive things) is said to attract year around prosperity.kind of like the Law of attraction in a way. We buy utensils as a token that the family will always have enough food and drink. That the Goddess will help us fill our cups.
Obviously jewellery us expensive but guess what else people are advised to buy? Brooms. The humble broom is a magical ritual tool.
Easy, DIY spell for wealth is it not?

Eyeko Black Magic Drama & Curl Mascara
Eyeko is a brand I have used many times before, and is a must for mascara lovers. This Mascara includes the unique Eyeko Shield for enhanced application; this unique beauty tool is designed to maximise length and minimise smudges. Simply pop behind the lashes and sweep the mascara brush upwards to coat from root to tip. Will not flake or transfer under eyes and the squeezy tube minimises waste – definitely an essential in my makeup bag! The mascara is 4ml so perfect to carry around in your handbag for touch ups or to use when travelling.
Sacha Cosmetics Intense Lipstick
Not a brand I’d heard of before but I’m always excited to find and try new brands and products. I received the shade ‘Ex in the city’ which is a deep dark red – a colour that I absolutely fallen in love with! The colour is bold and the application is extremely smooth. The formula is buildable and the colour becomes more intense with every stroke. Definitely a colour suited to beautiful dark-skinned women and one that I will be using again.
Sleek Kajal Eyeliner
Being Asian, I am all too familiar with Kajal eyeliners as they were one of the first products my mum purchased for me when I first became interested in makeup. I really liked the packaging, it arrived in a thick black plastic casing with a ribbon attached to one end that you pull to release the liner. I received the shade ‘Odyssey’ which is a very pigmented purple with a slight silvery shimmer to it. Not a colour I would usually reach for but I gave it the benefit of the doubt. It glides on effortlessly, emphasising the eyes. Very easy to use and versatile; can be smudged to give a smokey dramatic look or even applied as eyeshadow. I actually quite liked this. I wouldn’t normally wear a colour like this so was surprised to find that it did suit me so I give it a big thumbs up!
Sleek Sweet Cheeks Blush Stick
A gel blush in the shade ‘Hullabaloo’ from the whimsical wonderland limited edition collection. Glides on with ease, looks very bright when first applied but once it’s blended in, it leaves a sheer soft pink dewy effect on the skin. I tried blending with a brush but found it blended better using my fingers. One thing I didn’t expect from this which was a nice surprise is the smell of the blush stick. It is called sweet cheeks and does smell likes sweets or like cherryade.
L’Oreal Infallible Lip Liner
I think this lip liner would work well with all lipsticks. It is transparent and in the shade ‘Sheer Fidelity’ and it is a soft textured crayon that you twist. This product is quite stylish looking and doesn’t need to be sharpened which I find quite handy. The lip liner did well in defining my lips and preventing my lipstick from feathering and bleeding. I didn’t have it on all day so I’m unable to say if it has long lasting effects or not, but overall a good product and I would be inclined to use it again.
Ancient Wisdom Sweet Almond Oil
I use coconut oil quite regularly on the dry skin on my legs, so to receive an alternative product is always a good thing in my eyes. On the back of the bottle the instructions say that it can be diluted with essential oils to use on the skin. Essential oils need a quality base oil and the sweet almond oil is an ideal choice for this. The sweet almond oil is a natural, cold pressed oil with a neutral aroma so mixing with essential oils you can create your own blend of aromatherapy oils to suit your mood. The softening and nourishing effects of sweet almond oil mean it can be used alone as a face or body oil. Very pleased with this product, I would definitely look into buying more.
Lakshmi’s Cupboard Amla Shampoo/Conditioner
I have heard lots of good things about shampoo bars but have not had the chance to try one until now! The bar can be used as either a shampoo or conditioner. I decided to use as a conditioner as I thought this would have better results. It is a low lather bar so didn’t bubble up as much as you would expect it to. It also started to melt quite quickly so I would recommend maybe breaking pieces off to use bit by bit. The bar contains shea butter and l felt it made a difference to my hair as a result it was left feeling very soft and shiny. I will definitely be trying out other shampoo bars to see if I get the same results. The only down side to this bar is the size, although handy to travel with I don’t think it will last very long as it is quite small.
  Extras
I love a box with little extras in and this box does not disappoint with that. The extras included 2 Assam teas, 2 Lindor chocolates and some very colourful bindis. I am an avid tea drinker so was very happy in receiving the tea bags. Assam tea is a black tea named after the region of its production, Assam, in India. It is a strong malty black tea.
Lindt is one of my favourite chocolate brands so these did not last long as they were gobbled up within minutes of opening the box.
A bindi is usually a bright dot of red colour applied in the centre of the forehead close to the eyebrows worn in the Indian subcontinent. Traditionally, the area between the eyebrows (where the bindi is placed) is said to be the sixth chakra, the seat of “concealed wisdom”. The bindi is said to retain energy and strengthen concentration and also represents the third eye. I only ever wear bindis for special occasions and as I don’t currently own any at the moment I will certainly be making use of these.
Verdict:
A variety of different products with brands I am both familiar and unfamiliar with. This box is all about diversity and different cultures coming together. It is full of items from different countries – USA, Trinidad & Tobago and India which I think is a really nice touch. I especially loved the little extras put in as it shows the care put into making this box. I think it is excellent value for money as there is so much in this box – there are 7 beauty products plus the little extras, which is a lot more than I was expecting. I love how it is tailored to suit darker skin tones as there are hardly any boxes available that do that. This box certainly impressed me.

How to navigate festive cleaning to keep your home vibrant and sparkling?
Bright lights, lit up streets, and the sounds of crackers bursting – the festive season leaves nothing to be desired. India does the festivities like no other country. These are the select few days where the focus lies on celebrating with family & friends and having a good time with those you love. So it is bound to happen that a few relatives or friends may come to visit your home, and it is crucial during that your home is spic and span. Moreover, this is the time where Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha bless your home with good health and wealth. According to old adages, it is seen that Gods only bless those with clean homes, and in order to invite prosperity into your home, it needs to be sparkling clean. In order to achieve this status, The KariGhars, the best interior designer in Bangalore, offers some handy tips and tricks to help you out.
Cleaned up Kitchens
Starting with the heart of the home – the kitchen will need some extra elbow grease in order to be cleaned. The kitchen is where everyone congregates, and this is the place where you will be cooking up delicious recipes for the festive season. Start off by disposing of ingredients that have expired. Then give away ingredients that you do not use. Clean shelves with a mixture of warm water and mild dish soap. Wipe away the residue with a clean cloth.
Using a glass cleaner, spray drawers and thoroughly wash the liners of the drawers or replace them with new ones. Label spices and ingredients so that the kitchen becomes more organised and easier to navigate. It is best advised to store novelty cooking utensils and things seldom reached for in the back of the cupboards. Incorporate hooks, racks, and organizers to set up mugs, cutlery, and other utensils. Finally, clean the refrigerator with the help of a solution of diluted vinegar.
Sparkly Living Rooms
The living room is the most public and commonly used part of the house. If not cleaned every day, it has a tendency to accumulate dust over time, making for an arduous task when cleaning it once a year for the festive season. Start out by tossing out old items no longer in use or find a dedicated storage space for them. Books and toys need to be placed into their dedicated space and throw away old newspapers.
Then move on to the tapestries of the room – unhook the curtains and throw them in the wash, vacuum the tops of the sofa, and clean the windows. Using the same solution of warm water and gentle dish soap, scrub away the grime on the coffee tables, TV, and shelves. Thoroughly dust the ceiling fans and clean the filters of the AC. Decor items can be gently vacuumed, rubbed down, or washed, depending on their material.
Respite in Bedrooms
Moving on to the bedroom, it is absolutely essential that this area be the cleanest of them all since this is your personal haven. The task of cleaning your bedroom might seem insurmountable, but it can easily be tackled by breaking it down into smaller steps. Along with the curtains from the living room, throw in your bedding, linens, and curtains into the wash. Disinfect every surface, with a sanitizer or a diluted vinegar solution. Clean all glass surfaces with a soft cloth and glass cleaner.
Organize your wardrobe with the help of cabinets, shelves, and boxes. Place camphor or naphthalene balls in the wardrobe so that the pesky insects stay away. Most importantly, do not forget to air out the mattresses, and wash the pillows.
Once you are done cleaning your house from top to bottom, put on some nice music and enjoy the festive decorating process! Treat this as a family bonding opportunity, bringing happiness and health to one and all. The Karighars, the top interior designers of Bangalore, wish each one warm festive greetings of the season!

Why is the puja of Laxmi Yantra so important on Diwali?
Tumblr media
Lakshmi Yantra is the most special Yantra for gaining the blessings of goddess Lakshmi. This Yantra having the capability to give a great future and wealth to the worshipper. The goddess Mahalakshmi is seated on the Lotus flower and she signifies purity. Lakshmi Yantra can be placed in cash boxes, purses, Pooja rooms, temples and deposit boxes, bank wallets and cupboards, etc. This is the most effective one while we worshipped daily morning with full of faith. Apart from this, Lakshmi Yantra is believed to be the most powerful one to gaining money and fulfillment in life.
During Diwali Puja, adoring Lakshmi Yantra is considered very significant. . Yantra(s) are exceptionally amazing as those are viewed as the epitome of the actual gods.

India’s early 20th century pop-culture
An indistinguishable clutch of film actresses in varying shades of lime advocate green tea, hoardings hoot healthy oats, popular songs popularize size zero and milk cartons come with measuring tapes – these are visuals that hound us today.
If being ‘in-shape’ keeps us so occupied today, it’s rather intriguing to have a glimpse of the visuals that spoke to our great-great-grand parents more than century ago.
A recently concluded month-long exhibition at Mumbai’s Bhau Daji Lad Museum curated by the renowned art and culture historian Jyotindra Jain was a pool of stimulating visuals – calendars, postcards, prints and insert cards. Mapping culture through visuals goes beyond advertisements. And in an age of nascent photography and a revolutionizing printing technique, paintings made the dominant visual form – the springboard for early advertising. The collection is a treasure revealing much about late nineteenth and early twentieth century India – its conscience, motivations and aspirations.
To set the context of time – traditional (flat and idealistic) painting was dramatically being influenced by European techniques (oil) and styles (realism and perspective). Raja Ravi Varma rendered ancient Vedic folklore and Hindu mythology with European realism – something unseen so far. And his printing press made art descend from the royal court to commoners’ roads. Almost suddenly, Hindu households had a face to their Gods.
Visuals spoke – the grandeur of Hindu mythologies, fine emotion of its characters and the elaborate episodes of the epics.  Decoding the renditions of the Pauranik episodes brings out the immediate social environment of the times. Stories and subjects lifted from the Vedic age often got depicted in settings that were a confluence of Mughal and British influences, the day’s culture – popular clothing and fanciful settings of nineteenth century.
Shantanu, the Kuru king is shown wearing a Jama – a Mughal (or medieval Rajput) garb that of a tight fitting frock flaring up at the waist with a chooridaar, instead of the prevalent Vedic dhoti. So is the heavily embroidered footwear.
An early twentieth century painting titled ‘Wedding of Rama’ by M. V. Dhurandar has women draped in contemporary Marathi styled saris and men sport the Mughal court costumes. In fact the landscape gives a hint of several temples and mosque domes lined in the background – an easy mix of the time which is a sharp departure from today’s soon emboldening divisive religious lines.

Along with his contemporaries, soon the sacred stood dangerously close to the sensual. The male gaze (continued from the translucent women’s garments from Mughal and Rajput miniatures) got accentuated by the realism corporeality of the new style. Semi-nude heroines from mythology became muses as an idealized white-skinned Indian woman, a standard slowly being laid down for future generations. From prints to playing cards – a collection with each depicting ‘Oriental beauty’, the gaze has passed down over a century.

Soon after, with prints rolling out, these visuals became popular culture. In 1888 when Lever Brothers’ Sunlight soap disembarked on a Calcutta port it perhaps had no idea of how it would get reinvented to further forge a ritual with Indian masses. The reverend Sun lord descended to sell the humble soap bar quickly followed by Pears, Lux and Vim.
The army of Hindu gods and goddesses became brand ambassadors a hundred years ago, with each brand competing to have one. Bal Krishna made sure mothers bought Woodward’s gripe water and a goddess assured for Glaxo baby soap. These were usually large prints on calendars given out as promotional devices and the masses grabbed them as objects of worship.

Besides personal care and baby products, Hindu deities and mythological characters in action (primarily picked from Raja Ravi Varma’s renditions) flooded with consumer goods from cloth, dye to even cigarette (Hawagharri brand from Peninsular Tobacco Ltd) and Swedish safety matches. Large prints of deities that came stuck on fabric bundles from Manchester were given out only with bulk purchase. They ended up being framed and worshipped. Such was their overwhelming charm; the mythological-religious stories were probably the primary preoccupation then, which had so far, never been this vivid, almost palpable.

If the popular culture in print a hundred years ago celebrated the sacred, it also gradually set in motion the trends that would follow. Just how Bollywood actresses convincingly speak of green tea (in conjunction with massive PR), early communication depicting the particularly English beverage with brown skin weaved the myth of tea always having been Indian. After the saturation of the British and American markets, the Indian colony was craftily taught the tea ritual with visuals that seeded in one’s subconscious. Those are popular brands even today.

Along with products (riding on monies and businesses), the visual culture influenced etiquettes, styles and behaviours en masse. Almost instantly the predominantly Parsi way of draping a sari became the norm, pan-India modern (even today’s) style of wearing a sari. These caught up with several print advertisements that created the image of the modern Indian woman – a sari clad, shoe wearing, pearl adorning lady – with a 19th century tennis racquet or a cigarette in hand.

Tumblr media
‘Love Letter’ depicting a modern Indian couple setting an imagery that’ll be fashionable for a century that would follow; c. 1930s
The printed visuals circulated wide and far re-defining fashion, modeling Indian cinema (remember the black and white stars of yore?) and setting the mark for the foreign as modern and aspirational.
But at the same time the imagery ended up rendering itself to the nationalistic movement. The country was simmering with the struggle for freedom – Swadesi caught up and rampant printing galvanized Indian sensibilities. Soon goddesses started being depicted closer to what we recognize today as Bharat Mata – on the same fabric bundles that once depicted Goddess Lakshmi and Shaivite tilak. Closely entwined is the beginning of the singular story of Hindu identity that went on to define the majority belief as early as the mid-1800s.
These visuals and their retrospective importance to the idea of building modern India are lost in dusty antique garage stores. Few of us today, are perhaps lucky to have seen a tin box or two with elaborate printed art in our grand mothers’ cupboards.

Tools for Diwali Home Cleaning:
To start home cleaning there, exist certain home cleaning tools which you must have. Not every cleaning essential is present in stock every time. So before starting the cleaning task you first need to accommodate all the essentials and tools. Here are some of the home cleaning essentials that you might require but don’t stick to these as requirements depend on the size of the home.
·         Brooms with sticks
·         Normal broom
·         Duster
·         Cleansers
·         House ladders
·         glassware cleaner (Collins)
·         Vacuum cleaner
·         Warm water
·         Vinegar
·         Baking soda
·         Cotton cloth or fiber
·         Dishwashing soap
Start Diwali Home Cleaning as Early as Possible:
Complete home cleaning (or office so far as that is concerned) isn't a simple task. It's not tied in with cleaning of only one section. We are looking at cleaning of the whole house; from the kitchen to room, puja room to living room. Probably the simplest approach to get it directly without getting worn out is to separate your home cleaning work in 2-3 unique sessions. Like the washroom can be cleaned one day and kitchen a few days ago. Room and living territory can be cleaned in one day and you can give last contacts to in general cleaning on one more day. Make a calendar according to your helpful. You should have enough time available to you; generally, if you start everything at the most recent hour, at that point there is a high possibility of errors if you have time, at that point you can clean your own home with consideration, and welcome Goddess Kali or Goddess Lakshmi in your dwelling place. Earlier arranging is fundamental, as the house isn't only one room, however, a few rooms are there. There are a large number of different sorts of things all over the place, so it is prompted that you take earlier activities.
Tumblr media
De-clutter the Living Space as a Part of Home Cleaning:
The absolute initial step while home cleaning for Diwali is to expel the messiness and blockage from your home. The extra undesirable and pointless things are mindful to make your home look messy and chaotic. The minute you will begin screening the items, you can find that there are a few things which you don't need in your home yet at the same time they are only there since the Stone Age. You should dispose of the things; you can give them away, put them at a bargain, or simply discard them in the junk can. Go to each room of your home and start screening the things. Keep an entire day for screening objects in particular, as it is a repetitive assignment.
Floor Cleaning is a Must:
Clean the floors adequately with floor cleaners. You can utilize vacuum cleaners, sweepers, floor brushes and fiber garments to clean the floors. For cleaning the restroom floors, you can utilize the washroom cleaners which are accessible in the market. Other than that, you can likewise sue heating pop. Some time floor cleaning as part of home cleaning is all you require to focus on.
Closet Cleaning:
Start home cleaning with cleaning your closets. Empty it appropriately and afterward start cleaning your closet. Change the paper or fabric on the if you have one on racks. Overlap the majority of the garments appropriately and mastermind them in great request. If you run over old garments that you have not utilized and you figure you may not utilize them in the future, you can just give it to somebody who needs them. Different NGOs are working for oppressed Children, call them and they can gather and disperse it. Make separate compartments in the closet, you can introduce drawers here, and go through the clear spaces on the entryways of the closet. Dispense the compartments with the goal that you can keep every one of the things inappropriate requests. If you feel that there are some unwashed garments, at that point as opposed to reserving them in the closet, keep them in the clothing where you will wash them. The arranged cupboard is an indication of proper home cleaning.
Kitchen Cleaning:
kitchen Cleaning isn't at all that hard because the majority of the stuff in your kitchen can be cleaned utilizing the dishwashing cleanser, vinegar, warm water and preparing pop. Start by cleaning the racks and boxes inside the kitchen, trailed by kitchen products, dishes, bowls and everything else. To clean dividers, you may utilize cleanser to clean tile or you can make your very own chemical. I, for the most part, make my very own chemical to clean the tiles and tabletops. Blend equivalent Vinegar and cleanser water in an equivalent amount to make your own chemical. Correspondingly you may clean the cupboards, exhaust fans, floors and so forth with simply warm water and cleanser. Home cleaning ends up simpler when you can apply legitimate cleaning specialists and water.
Curtain and Bed Lenin Cleaning:
Cleaning garments like drapes, bed sheets, cushion covers, couch spread and so forth is the least demanding activity of home cleaning. Take it out, load it into your clothes washer, set the temperature and get moving. Just a precautionary measure required here is doing everything together in one day. Try not to wash everything together, as your clothes washer might not have the ability to wash many covers on the double. On the main day wash the blinds, the following day the couch covers, this is how you can make your own daily schedule and start washing the things. Remember to check whether they are reasonable for the machine wash or not. Some of the time on the off chance that the texture is excessively fragile, at that point machine wash is illegal, all things considered, you need to wash them yourself utilizing tepid water and cleanser powder.
So, complete your home cleaning task and get ready to welcome the goddess of wealth and prosperity to your place. Enjoy your Diwali with ease and happiness. For more home cleaning blogs, visit https://www.themaids.in/.
