Yui: You will? Woah, thank you so much, Re— W-Wait, no! We can’t do that today!

Yui: Eh—? Ah, Kanato-kun, I didn’t see you there. I’m fine, but I’m a bit in a hurry, so… see y— Kya!

Yui: Woah, I’ve never seen such big cakes before!

Cake shop owner: Welcome, how can I help you?

Yui: We’re searching for a birthday cake, but uhm… one a bit smaller than the ones displayed here, if possible.

Yui: ( Speaking of flavor, I don’t think Ayato-kun has ever told me anything about his favorite. He would probably say Takoyaki but a Takoyaki cake… that doesn’t feel right. )

Yui: Phew, I’m glad the cake didn’t get crushed on the way.

Kanato: It’s time to eat!

Tantrum. - Kanato Sakamaki

♡A/N: I hope you all enjoy! This is my first fic so. Kinda nervous. I went with a more simple concept since it's my first fic and I didnt want to write anything super super complicated. But I really like these silly vampires and I wanted to write about them because I've read almost every kanato fic on ao3 (and recent ones on tumblr) and I'm running out of content. Comments and feedback are always appreciated! Lmk if you like it!

7:45pm.

Yui was early for school. She had been having trouble adjusting to going to school during the night and basically living nocturnally since beginning her stay with the Sakamaki's. For the first few weeks, she had difficulty trying not to fall asleep in most of her classes. Recently, however, it's been ever so slightly easier.

Yui made a quick stop at her locker to change her shoes and grab a few snacks to put in her bag. She always made sure to bring little candies and sweets wherever she went as a quick way to help Kanato calm down if he was having one of his usual tantrums. She shut the door to her locker and checked the clock on the wall.

7:50pm. She still had 10 minutes until class started.

She let out a sigh and began wandering the halls. She decided she would head to her first class of the night at around 7:57pm. As of right now, she had some free time to relax before she needed to attend class.

"Bitch-Chan!!" A familiar voice called from down the hall. Yui turned around to see Laito and Ayato walking towards her.

"Yo! Chichinashi!!" Ayato smiled as he took a few steps in her direction.

Yui decided she would stay and chat with the two for a few minutes. "Kanato might not be too happy with me if I stay to talk to you two," she sighs. "But its my decision. And I dont see a problem with chatting for a few minutes before class begins."

"Don't worry about what that hysteric thinks! All he'll do is throw a little tantrum. It's not like he can do anything to stop us from just talking to you." Ayato let's out a small laugh.

"What was that?" Another voice could be heard from behind Yui, "Just what do you think you're doing?!" A voice that was normally soft on days when things went his way, overcome with anger.

A hand grabbed at Yui's wrist and held her arm tightly. She turned around to look into Kanato's eyes.

She was pulled down the hallway and away from Laito and Ayato before she could even process what was going on.

Kanato pulled her into a dark, empty classroom as they turned the corner at the end of the hallway. By the way he was acting, Yui could tell he was about to start screaming at her. She knew she'd be late to class because of him, yet again.

Still tightly gripping her arm, his eyes began to tear up.

"Kanato!? I'm sorry, please stop crying!" Yui attempted to get him to stop crying, but this only further agitated him.

"You're mine! How could I stop myself from being jealous of you looking at them instead of me!" He screams, "You're supposed to only look at me!" He starts to walk forward, and backs her into the closest wall of the classroom.

"Please dont scream at me like that! I'm sorry, I promise!" Yui pleaded.

Kanato tightened his grip on her arm, "You think I'm a monster! Even though this is your fault! You chose to be by my side, remember? Yet you'd rather spend your time talking to my brothers instead of me!"

Yui let out a small squeal as his nails dug into her skin. He used his other hand to grab the back of her head and slightly tug on her hair.

"I can't leave you alone for even a minute without you trying to seduce my brothers! What do they have that I don't!?" His brows furrowed as he looked at her.

"I wasn't trying to do anything! I was just talking to them!" Yui was desperate to try to explain what happened, but to no avail.

"You liar! I saw the way they were looking at you as if you were their prey! They were trying to take you away from me!" He cries, "What's so special about them anyways?" He pulled her hair again, but this time much harder, forcing her to look at him.

Yui pleaded with him again, "Please stop! I promise I didn't mean to do anything! I just want you to forgive me... what can I do to make it up to you?"

His breathing became ever so slightly more steady as she asked this, and he began to calm down a little bit. He slightly loosened the hold he had on her wrist and lets go of the lock of hair he had grabbed. Little red crescent shapes from his nails, now visible on her arm. He begins to laugh a bit.

"Don't look at anyone else ever again, nobody deserves your kindness except me," he smiles, "no one else can love you like I do. Only look at me, only talk to me."

Yui nodded reluctantly. She knew it wouldn't fix much, but if she agrees to do what he says it would get him to calm down.

Kanato leaned in closer to Yui. He held on to her shoulders and started breathing heavily.

"What's wrong? Do you feel sick?" Yui grew concerned with how he was acting. She thought maybe he had gotten lightheaded from crying and screaming.

He smiled again. "I'm thirsty. I can smell the scent of your blood through your skin," he leaned in even closer, "it's your fault I got upset, so you should make it up to me."

"I'll make sure to drink a lot as your punishment," he laughed, and bit the side of her neck.

Yui could feel her heart start beating faster as she checked the clock on the wall of the classroom. 8:20pm.

Maybe tomorrow she'd have better luck.

Five Thing's I Like About Laito:

As it is the thing that made me fall in love with him first, I would say his humor. Even when I hated his guts, he always made me laugh. Opening up with calling Yui "Bitch-Chan" took me by suspired and all I could do was laugh, like who does that?(He was my fav from that moment, until he fucked it up). Adding to this, his dub is like the cherry on top. His just fucking sarcastic I love it.

His complex personality. The fact that you can look so deep into his personality is such a cool and interesting thing, and such good writing. Saying this as well, the unknowing if you looking too deep into his words, and he means what he says is such a ride that I haven't had with another character before.

How scary he is. Now, that might sounds weird to say but, the switch of character he does he just so cool and gives me the chills every time. Adding to this, it hits you with reality and gives you peep into his true self in a way. This dude is far from happy go lucky and his dark undertones really come to light in that split moment his voice drops.

How smart this bitch is. I like smart men, what can I say? But I was- I wouldn't say surprised, it made sense he was smart, I was more like "Oh? So he is smart". He is two steps ahead of you and I love it, not so much when he is messing with my head but I still am impressed either way lol. His smartness came to light to me when I got into the CD's and it was like a light blub moment(pun not intended) to understanding him more.

His little drops of kindness. I know I just said how scary and how much of a manipulator he is, but hear me out. There are times in the games, CD's that make me go "Wow, he isn't all that bad". He remembered Yui's birthday, there is this time in Shuu's Dark Fate route he helps Yui destress by getting her mind off what's going on, by bring up how Shuu was as a kid. He looked after his brothers when they was younger. He was so selfless, not wanting to bring them into the mess that he hurt himself. Laito gives off such big brother energy that not a lot of people talk about. Look how he was towards Kanato in the Young Blood manga, always looking out for him.

LAITO APPRECIATION WEEK (May 15th-May 21st) 2022 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

Hi guys!! Another year, another week dedicated to Laito!!

If you don’t know me, I’m Corn! I’m typically known for my Laito analyses in the fandom, but last year I hosted a Laito appreciation week! So I’m gonna make this a yearly thing :)

Yes, I know Laito’s birthday is in March, but I’m a full time college student with a part time job so its really hard for me to be consistent during the semester. But I’m free from this semester as of last week, and ironically it’s around the second year anniversary of this blog (May 16th)! I’ll be hitting the 1000 follower milestone (holy shit wtf) this summer so what better way to give back to this community more and celebrate than to host another appreciation week?? 

This year, I am co-hosting with my lovely friend @novampirebrainrot (Deia) who is an absolutely amazing artist, and we became friends last year through the previous Laito appreciation week! So I thought it was fitting :) Send her some love as well, she’s just such a cool person!

ANYWAYS! Laito Appreciation Week will start on Sunday, May 15th, and will end on Saturday, May 22nd. Please feel free to reblog and spread the message! I hope this will be as fun as last year’s!

Some Laito Appreciation!💚💚💚

So, What do I Love about him:

Honestly, what do i not love about him? He makes me feel so so happy, for over 6 years now. I love him from the bottom of my heart and with all my soul.♡´･ᴗ･`♡ He's so unbelievably precious, important and special to me, I really want to make him feel happy too, he deserves so so much. And I hope that someday i can find someone in real life who can give me such strong lovely feelings..

Anyways, for me, he's such a well-written, amazing and the most interesting character. He has so many layers and sides, there is so much personality and so many hidden thoughts and feelings inside him. There are so many details. So much to love. And to understand, comprehend and analyze what's going on inside his mind, not to mention just how intelligent he actually is. I cant really say what it is but there just is something about him i cant explain, which makes me just super addicted to him.

Especially his way of using and playing with words. There often is this Dark Poetic way of talking, with quite a bit of Horror in this Aesthetic way, i loveee it. Just, dark poetry, but more bloody. Cruel and twisted but still beautiful in it's own way. These specific metaphores he uses, these comparisions he makes, those references, sometimes he gets philosophical and i love a lot of the specific words he loves to use. (」ﾟﾛﾟ)｣♡♡ And have a special mention for when he goes Yandere/possessive please ovo♡

But right next to his sadistic word play he can also get really romantic, not that often, but it stuns me everytime he does it. How can you make such beautiful sentences and comparings♡´･ᴗ･`♡ (And theen destroy them in the next few seconds to keep your mask x'D ) And for example the fairy tale references he sometimes makes! There are so many favourite moments i have as well!

Or when he finally opens up and not locking away his heart and feelings anymore, which takes so much time and work, how truly and genuine he means his love then..o(╥﹏��)o❤ And how, Protective, he is then!!💕 and how he is able to handle serious and dangerous situations(to protect you..)!! Its so amazing. also oml his "ideas" and date ideas,, owo And I love how sensual he is and what he does and likes to do (okay most of it XD boi can be psycho) , you would'nt believe me how fast i get hug starved, i think i would have died by now if i didnt have all this cuddle stuff of him XD And hell yesss to when he calls you a princess and carries you like one!♡♡♡

Also he's the one you can have the most fun with and do the most stupid things with. Just think back to the halloween cd for example xD Or the make-up cd! (And pranks pff) He's pretty often the only one or one the few who's up for fun stuff, or how he was the one who planned your birthday party while trying to convince all the other ones:'3 Oh to go over a fun fair with him or to my favourite theme park qwq❤ He also can be sooooo adorable sometimes i cant even.. And he makes me laugh so much! He can be so funny. This also includes some of his ideas(and being fully confident in them) (its also stuff like him calling himself a gentlemen which cracks me up; or him being whiny for attention or pretending to be sick)..x"D Especially in scenarios with his brothers, oof i cant. Also him, teasing, his brothers, for example putting a bow into Subarus hair?? omygod.. And then other times he plays the big bro.. :') or sometimes plays the little brother, making them feel horrified xD

Ah andddd i can take PuriKuras with him!! That was way too cute (╥_╥)♡ And i can drag him with me on every rollercoaster!! hehehe ┐(￣ヮ￣)┌ ♡♡ Aand into every cute cafe as well since he enjoys them as much as I do! He can also dance the waltz 🥹💖💖

Can we also please appreciate his voice?? It's so smooth and absolutely beautiful. Thank you for making me feel happy, making me laugh, calming me and making me nervous as frick, strongly giving me the doki-doki's, goosebumps and many many heart attacks. (and for the Voice Drops!!!♡♡ hehehe ovo and these dangerous sounding breath-ins (???idk what to call it but i luv) ah and the little giggles x'D) also wtf hirarin how are u so good at this, like, way too good,, ??¿ ?????

I also want to mention that his eye colour (Green-Turquoise, "Viridian") is exactly!! my favourite colour (◍•ᴗ•◍)💚 also goddamn, his beautiful eyes. Way too pretty, with that gaze in them. And he rly does have style👀 And oof his beautiful autumn coloured hair. i want to run my fingers through it and make him a ponytail. Maybe braid it a bit or give him twin tails for fun👀 Ah i know he doesnt play it very often but i lovee the sound of Piano, so when he does i would love to just listen to him play♡´･ᴗ･`♡ And i reallyy reallyyy want to give him a smooch on his cute birthmark 👀❤

What also makes me happy is that he loooves Macarons! They're my favourite thing to bake and ive gotten really good at them (´∀｀)♡ I would love to bake them for him whenever he asks for, and whatever flavour he wants ♡´･ᴗ･`♡💚 And I want to take him with me to my favourite Patisserie!

Okay i think that's enough for now😂💚 I tried to keep it short xD there are quite a few things im too embarassed to admit lmao but in conclusion; Laito I love you so goddamn much, I'm going to explode. 🥺👉👈💚

Day 1

5 things I like about Laito

1. Obviously, his looks.

When you look at his face you realize how playful, maybe carefree he is, yet his eyes look mistrerious. And that's the biggest "magnet" in him, this contrast between his "shalowly-mischievous" personality and the gaze which talks to you: " I know. I know everything you don't."

Like...

Attractive mystery.

And obviously the design itself is great (I mean, all characters design in DL games, not the anime hahaha, are great. )

2. The personality conflict.

Do I really need to explain how fascinating it is to watch  Laito struggles with his own self? But don't think I'm a sadist I genuinely feel bad for him, but man, it's so interesting to watch the full way of  character's realizing how far he'd gone with those lies to himself...

It's seems like he's completely lost sometimes?

3. Attitude towards Yui.

Yes, be calls her Bitch-chan, which is annoying but ITS NOT THAT BAD...

The way Yuma, Ruki, Ayato (and sometimes Shu) call her just kills me...

So I really like the way Laito treats her, though it's embarrassing.

  Also I guess he hadn't shared his opinion about Yui's body. I mean, other guys would say that she's looking like a middle schooler, some of them would just say "she's flat" or smth and that's kinda offensive.

I'm not saying Laito is sane and he'd never ever said such to her, but I'm sure it wasn't in such amount as others did...

4. HE IS FUNNY AS F.CK

Whenever he appears (his own routs or his bros routes) he either creates funny situations and give chills, idk.

I can't say who else has the same funky charm...

Anyways, anytime he appears I'm ready to smile uncontrollably

5. His relationship with other characters, not only with his brothers. He's kinda...

Sweet with them? Especially if we're talking about Laito in the big brother role. 

For instance the sub scenario with him in Azusa's route in Vandead Carnival, also attitude Laito has to Kanato or Subaru, he's the type giving advice, and sort of... caring? Idk that's so nice of him...
