💙 "And it won't be sad if the stars don't shine..."

I was excited yesterday to see a new post from advice-hiei, the blog that started it all, only to feel my heart sink when I saw they had announced that all RP elements would be removed from the blog, that this had been discussed among the most active rp'ers in the group and they all wanted to either delete their blogs, pass them off to someone new, or return to the ask blog format.

Checking the other blogs in the 25 year after timeline, I found that the RP content had already vanished from most of them, and several were deleted completely. As of this writing (2/26/2019) Keiko, Shishi, Suzuka, Jin, Touya, Asuka, Haru, Younger Toguro, Akako, Mukuro, Kandai, Lady Shuna's Ladies, Slavers of Makai, and myself haven't yet entirely deleted our RP content. I haven't tagged anyone out of respect for the group-wide decision not to continue.

My activity dropped off in December as I've been helping my partner (who runs Kandai and co-runs Shuna's Ladies and Slavers) recover from major surgery, and as an OC paired with a supporting character I was never part of the main group so I (understandably) was not part of this discussion, meaning it was news to me and incredibly sad that things were ending, especially (seemingly) suddenly and including the deletion of the story content I have so enjoyed. There are lines of dialogue that exist now only in my memory.

I've been watching Yu Yu Hakusho since it's initial run on adult swim. I credit this show with getting me through middle and high school, and bonding over mutual love of it and rp'ing fueled my closest friendships from that time and first serious relationship. It's accurate to say I would not be who I am today without Yu Yu Hakusho.

Getting a chance to RP again has been an absolute dream. It's been a beautiful six months and has even gotten me to start writing fanfiction for the first time in nearly a decade.

For that reason this account will remain. Shuna is a fairly new OC for me, not to mention all her wonderful girls, but I am absolutely in love with her story and her world and will be posting links to fanfiction inspired by these RP adventures (and with some co-writing by @sirkandai ) in the near future. Thank you to my fellow RP'ers for that inspiration, it's a gift beyond measure.

I will not, however, continue to RP with this blog or those I co-run. It's too sad and strange to think about doing it without the group. Who knows, maybe someday new rp'ers will pop up with new ideas and I'll have this community again.

For anyone still active who sees this, it's been an absolute joy. Thank you for welcoming me back to a way of being a fan I thought I had outgrown and didn't know I still needed. To my incredible partner, thank you for coming on this journey with me. I thought I would have to give up this kind of weird fan stuff when I got married, but you have blessedly proven me wrong.

*Michiru looks toward Shuna as they run through Makai*

Michiru: so...you and King Mukuro?

*Kandai’s manor is as secure and beautiful as they come. The girls will want for nothing during their stay. Except business of course. But that is hardly something she could fix.

Michiru was in the kitchen with some of the girls who prefer domestic work to the life of a companion. Of course they are well taken care of by the house and there is no difference in status based on one’s position.

Having forced Kandai’s staff out they are preparing a meal for everyone. It is to Michiru’s great surprise when a portal opens up right where she’s chopping vegetables.*

*Yuri feels a great and final stirring in her mind as @akako-red-child’s power is pushed out of her mind. Hanae’s protective power floods her mind again. She doesn’t know why she ever thought it felt creepy. After the sickness that was Akako’s power it is like bathing in a clean river.*

*Hinako stirs next to her in bed. Yuri pulls her close. She’s determined not to let Hinako wake in this nightmare of a place.*

*Yuri summons all of her Demon Energy and opens a portal through which the two women disappear.* Forgive us @ask-shuna.

Oh Mama. The guards can’t help at all. I was hoping to find you with your girlfriend, I mean “fearless protector”, there was an attack on the hideout. I was hiding with Yuri when it happened, but she freaked out and ran when she heard the other girls screaming.

*Hinako bursts into tears*

After the soldiers left, I couldn’t find her. I searched *her voice is racked with sobs* through all the bodies. I couldn’t find her. I ... I think... I think they took her. They took Yuri.

Oh Mama.

*A voice echoes through the fortress.* Mama? It’s me!! I know you’re there! Tell the guards to let me in. They seem to have forgotten my face after our last visit, and I’m insulted.

*Shuna, still shaken from her ordeal, steps outside when she hears the familiar voice*

Oh my-

Hinako what on earth on doing here? You were rescued from kidnappimg l a week ago, I’d think, reckless though you are you’d have sense enough to stay put when you’re somewhere safe.

I’m calling a guard to escort you back right now.*pulls out her communicator*

*Back at the hideout*

*The world spins and grows fuzzy. Suzuno hadn’t thought one drink would affect her sooooo hard. Holding her liquor was something she was proud of. Yet here she was. All around her the other girl’s eyes are closing, drinks spilling from their hands, all over their expensive clothes. *

“Oh dear.”

......

*Michiru feels the heavy pull of sleep closing her eyes. The bed is so close. All she needs to do is sleep. Sleep and dream. And when she wakes all will be well. As she falls onto the pillow her communicator slips out of her hand and falls to the floor.*

*they both jump*

Reiha: Oh no, certainly not!

Yuri: Us? Gossip? Never!

Michiru: That's what I thought. Our Lady has called a meeting in the dining room. Let's go.

*Naruka follows Itimike down the hall, again seeking a room where the others won’t be a disturbance. Once found the two women seat themselves on the floor, awkwardly not looking at each other. Finally Naruka speaks.*

Naruka: What was that back there?

Itimike: I don’t know, it just came out.

Naruka: You can’t possibly mean it, can you? I’m like what, the second girl you’ve bedded? You can’t possibly know...

Itimike: I know it doesn’t make since, but you were there for me when... I know you were just doing your job, but when I had to give birth you... And after... During everything. You always know what to say when I’m freaked out, which is all the time, and you’re so talented at what you do.

*Itimike blushes*

All of what you do.

Naruka: I...

Itimike: My heart comes alive around you in a way I’ve never felt before. You make me feel the way we pretend to feel for our clients.

Naruka: I certainly wasn’t trying to do anything of the sort. We’re not here to fall in love.

Itimike: But love isn’t forbidden, Michiru may not be seeking it, but it certainly has found Shuna.

Naruka: Yeah, I’d say she has more than bargained for.

*she sighs*

I don’t know Itimike. I’ve spent so long just trying to be a good friend to you, ignoring how I felt, pushing it deep down inside itty bitty boxes. What happens if I let that out? What if I hurt you?

Itimike: You’d never...

Naruka: You say that now.

Itimike: How ‘bout this. We start of slowly yes? As you said you’re only my second girl ever, and even then only once, and of course I know how I feel about you. And you feel something for me. So let’s take our time and figure out how we feel about us? No one has to get married yet.

Naruka: Hey, I’m all for figuring this out, but no one said anything about not getting married.

Itimike: You’re cute.

*Itimike leans towards Naruka, and slowly they both move into a kiss, that becomes more passionate the longer it lasts*

*Yuri stirres and wakes in a strange room, Hinako at her side, still asleep. She can feel Akako and Hanae’s powers still battling in her mind. She summons all her strength and adds it to Hanae’s.

She looks over at Hinako, love and worry filling her.*

Soon my love. Soon we’ll be safe. And we can forget this nightmare.
