"ok so this song sounds good. I’ll admit that. But where it falls flat is in the context of it. In Twilight Princess, Midna’s Lament was a somber song that played when Link, trapped in his wolf form, carries Midna on his back to see Zelda, as she was fatally injured and needed immediate help. It’s a beautifully tragic song that was perfect for the bleak world of Twilight Princess. In Brawl, the next smash game after TP came out, this song was put in the game. It made sense for Brawl, as that itself was an edgier and grittier game compared to the entries before and after it. The song was left untouched, and it sounded as gorgeous as ever. Cut to when Ultimate releases: the original rendition of Midna’s Lament was cut in favor of a bombastic orchestral remix that sound like you’ve just won the battle to save the world. And that’s a problem. When this song plays in TP, you haven’t saved the world. You haven’t even saved your friend. And you can’t save her. To take such a slow and somber song and turn it into a triumphant battle song feels so insensitive. Insensitive to whom? I don’t know, maybe just me personally. But at the end of it all, I think this just shows some songs aren’t meant for fighting games. TLDR: this remix ruins the emotion of the original song and makes me super angry"
