Lacy knew about Elijah in name only. She was waiting for Beverly to introduce them, so she was surprised when she almost ran into him.

“Oh! Mr. Atkins!” she exclaimed, before realizing how weird that may seem that she knew his name before he knew hers. She quickly ducked her head. “I’m sorry. I’m Lacy Torrance. Beverly’s cousin.”

Lacy shook his hand, resisting the urge to curtsey too. She gave him a smile. "It's nice to meet you too," she said, quickly pulling her hand back. She shouldn't be touching him for too long. "So, um, how long have you and Beverly been courting?"

Elijah did wince a little, stepping away a bit due to his ribs being uncomfortable still. "I would say that Mr Atkins is my father, but he's a Doctor." He laughed a bit then winced again, okay not the right time for that joke.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Lacy, call me Elijah." Eli offered a hand with a smile.
