We're slowly building back up our shoe inventory, including some classic Ann ones, these ss2010 gladiator buckle heels, and soon the Blanch re-edition of the ss2009 sandals with corset lacing as well as another pair of fw2009 single lace boots. A.F. Vandevorst boots, since the weather is still cold. And these can be found in our pre-sale mailing. Loads of Margiela boots (including tabis to be posted soon), but they need some tlc as we like to get you the shoes in the best condition as possible. Like the pictured buckle sandals that have seen quite a lot of love, we cleaned them with a leather cleaner, re-polished them, including the heel. The insides have been washed with water, leather cleaner and slightly shaved with a magic sponge, to get everything as fresh as possible. Especially with sandals, we like to get them back into their new 'right out of the box' state. Hope these get to enjoy the sunlight soon. #anndemeulemeester https://www.instagram.com/p/Cngu34DOBi7/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Nylon
Maison Margiela and Reebok launch the Classic Leather Tabi Nylon: the newest trainer conceived in the dialogue between the two brands. Released in stores on December 9th, 2022, the shoe draws on the Classic Nylon originally created by Reebok in 1991 and proposes a lighter interpretation of the Classic Leather Tabi debuted in 2020 as part of the creative conversation with Maison Margiela.
For the next chapter of Maison Margiela’s collaboration with Reebok, Creative Director John Galliano splices the Classic Nylon with the house’s signature Tabi silhouette. In the process, the original running shoe is entirely rebuilt to accommodate the split-toe construction. The classic lace-up sneaker features a leather upper with nylon inserts and suede detailing, a dual-logo tongue, textile lining, and an EVA outsole. It will be available in black, white and navy.
With its clean and minimalist design, the Classic Nylon has become a fixture in sneaker history since Reebok first debuted it in 1991. The Tabi was originally designed by Maison Margiela founder Martin Margiela in 1989 as a mark of respect of the jika-tabi worn by streetworkers in Japan. The split-toe shoe is continuously interpreted by the house in a variety of styles and manifestations.
The Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Nylon will be available from December 9th, 2022 on Reebok.com/maison_margiela with a suggested retail price of € 350 - £ 329 - $ 350 - ¥ 37.000 - HKD 3.190 - ₩ 399.000 - RMB 3.190.

my character's no context answers:
What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)
Felice- Fernet Branca with one ice cube
Hiraeth- Mezcal with a cayenne salt rim
Tali- 151 rum, straight from the bottle
Saraband- something hot and cozy, like cocoa or mulled cider
Prosper- natty wine
What is their grooming routine? (how do they treat themselves in private)
Felice- long herbal baths and elaborate hairstyles
Hiraeth- bathes quickly but daily, oils his horns to keep them shiny, absentminded about anything else
Tali- what’s grooming? he goes in the sea a lot
Saraband- meticulous scrubbing, trimmed nails and clean shaven, he’s a doctor after all.
Prosper- loses sanity points if he can’t bathe every day
What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go? (Gets you thinking about socio-economic class, values, and how they spend their leisure time)
Felice- book, old, rare books, the more the better
Hiraeth- he’s saving up to buy expensive magic items to stay safe, otherwise, his horse, Arian who he spoils rotten
Tali- the biggest, sharpest knives he can find
Saraband- his clinic which he shares with his sister. otherwise he lives an austere life.
Prosper- income? he gets all he needs from the hospital he works at so he’s not used t having money.
Do they have any scars or tattoos? (good way to get into literal backstory)
Felice- they have self harm scars that no one knows about
Hiraeth- he has blackwork snakes tattooed coiled up each arm with their heads on his neck.
Tali- he’s scarred from the lighting strike that gave him his powers
Saraband- lots of scars, several soldier tattoos
Prosper- he has a jagged scar from his left temple, across his nose and all the way down to his right ankle, from the banshee that nearly killed him in childhood
What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? (Good way to get some emotional backstory in.)
Felice- when Selene told them that they were doing the right thing staying with their new companions
Hiraeth- he was 6 and scraped his knee
Tali- every time there’s a thunderstorm. it’s so beautiful.
Saraband- when he failed to save his husband
Prosper- when he heard orry’s story
Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)
Felice- the only child of their absentee mom, raised by their uncle and his husband
Hiraeth- they’re smack in the middle of 25 or so adoptive kids raised by an orc paladin and her two halfling wives over about 30 years. he has one older and one younger adopted sib he grew up around the same age as since his mom’s tend to only take in a few kids at a time so they get plenty of attention
Tali- eldest, when they had a family
Saraband- Ban and his sister are twins, the only children of their mother who’s a master artificer in a line of artificers. the women of the family live in one huge building above their workshop, raising their kids in common, so he’s got cousins who might as well be siblings.
Prosper- eldest with one sister, they’re very close as their mother was very demanding and they leaned on each other to avoid her wrath.
Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)
Felice- silk tabi boots that are charmed to be extra durable for all their travels
Hiraeth- slip on black leather short boots
Tali- he hates shoes, being a beach kid, but he wears armoured boots for adventures.
Saraband- around the house he wears soft moccasins
Prosper- knee high lace up boots in dark brown leather
Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)
Felice- they don’t sleep, per se, but they meditate in a hammock hung from the ceiling of their turret, with a featherbed in it, silk sheets and a down comforter, with eldridge the house griffin curled above their head, hoping the best pillows.
Hiraeth- he has the top bunk in the dormitory, above which he’s hung a topaz dragon skull, otherwise utilitarian
Tali- he has a nest in a precariously built treehouse that used to be a boat but got lodged in a tree during a big storm
Saraband- a murphy bed in the clinic, with shaman the fox on his feet and sometimes his boyfriend next to him
Prosper- a simple wood-frame bed with crisp linen sheets and a quilt his niece made him. Phinn has a donut shaped pillow on the nightstand next to him.
What is their favorite holiday? (How do they relate to their culture/outside world. Also fun is least favorite holiday.)
Felice- the Mystery of the Night, they may not be a cleric but they enjoy the opportunity to meditate deeply
Hiraeth- scribes don’t get holidays
Tali- Chankh!
Saraband- the fall harvest festival, he’s shy, but enjoys the crowds
Prosper- the turning of the year, he values the cyclical nature of the celebration, and new beginnings
What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.)
Felice- they always have tea in a flask and a teacup on them, plus their spell book and the rapier that is their spell focus
Hiraeth- a pen, handmade ink, and his notebook
Tali- so many knives. just… so many knives
Saraband- a med kit, treats for the kids and shayna the fox
Prosper- phinneas the ermine, medical supplies and tools, his notebook and pens (he breaks the nibs a lot)
So my problem with most ‘get to know your character’ questioneers is that they’re full of questions that just aren’t that important (what color eyes do they have) too hard to answer right away (what is their greatest fear) or are just impossible to answer (what is their favorite movie.) Like no one has one single favorite movie. And even if they do the answer changes.
If I’m doing this exercise, I want 7-10 questions to get the character feeling real in my head. So I thought I’d share the ones that get me (and my students) good results:
What is the character’s go-to drink order? (this one gets into how do they like to be publicly perceived, because there is always some level of theatricality to ordering drinks at a bar/resturant)
What is their grooming routine? (how do they treat themselves in private)
What was their most expensive purchase/where does their disposable income go? (Gets you thinking about socio-economic class, values, and how they spend their leisure time)
Do they have any scars or tattoos? (good way to get into literal backstory)
What was the last time they cried, and under what circumstances? (Good way to get some *emotional* backstory in.)
Are they an oldest, middle, youngest or only child? (This one might be a me thing, because I LOVE writing/reading about family dynamics, but knowing what kinds of things were ‘normal’ for them growing up is important.)
Describe the shoes they’re wearing. (This is a big catch all, gets into money, taste, practicality, level of wear, level of repair, literally what kind of shoes they require to live their life.)
Describe the place where they sleep. (ie what does their safe space look like. How much (or how little) care / decoration / personal touch goes into it.)
What is their favorite holiday? (How do they relate to their culture/outside world. Also fun is least favorite holiday.)
What objects do they always carry around with them? (What do they need for their normal, day-to-day routine? What does ‘normal’ even look like for them.)

“This is modern couture today, not just dressing the elite!” - John Galliano, in reference to the Maison Margiela Artisinal fall 2020 show.
The Maison Margiela fall couture show gave us insight into the ‘Recicla’ dimension of the Artisanal collection which is Galliano’s treasure of vintage clothing. In the film, which was artfully produced by Nick Knight, we observe a tailored jacket which is carefully taken apart and magically reworked. Much dialogue as well as insight is captured as we watch the beauty of heavenly creatures floating in the lightest of bias cut creations.
Shown, Eirene (Recicla) – Passage n°10
Dark blue heroic-cut Recicla pea coat embroidered with clear material sequins, worn with a white thermocollant dress over transparent tights, a white thermocollant loincloth and white thermocollant ghillies. White-painted pointy shoes with white lace-up overlay worn over tweed Tabi boots

Emily in Paris Fashion Analysis (part 1)
Unless you're living under a rock, chances are that you've heard of Netflix's show "Emily in Paris". So this week, I decided to see for myself what the fuss was all about. In terms of styling, the show is a lot like Sex And The City, which makes sense because the show has been styled by Patricia Field, who also styled Sex and the city, who also styled The Devil Wears Prada. This begs the question: what went wrong this time? Because Emily Cooper, for the most part, looks messy, barring a few looks. As I binge-watched the show, I couldn't help but realise how her sartorial choices are sometimes downright questionable. Emily's looks often include prints on prints on prints, a lot of color, a lot of plaid and A LOT OF CHANEL. But it's not all that bad. The show features references to Alexander McQueen, Victor and Ralph, Audrey Hepburn and apparently Gossip Girl. Lets get right into it.
We first meet Emily working out in Chicago, in a very dramatic workout look. A yellow, black and red Nike puffer jacket paired with black leggings and white sneakers seems like a bit much for a workout. While this look doesn't do much for the character to be liked fashion-wise, it is pretty good in comparison with the other looks.
We later see Emily in an office where she wears a Kenzo-print dress with a tiny black belt and white ankle-length cowboy shoes. The dress and the japenese motif is a subtle homage to Kenzo Takada, the designer who recently passed away, and his legacy.
Emily later arrives in Paris and to my dispair the look is very American. It's a Paris montage, she should have worn something chic. Granted that it's an 8-hour long flight from Chicago to Paris so she needs to be comfortable, but this wouldn't be the first time the styling for the show was going to be unrealistic. If we've decided to ignore logic, we might as well make her look good.
Emily heads to her office for her first day in Paris, where she wears graphic booties, python skirt and worst of them all, a Paris landscape shirt. A PARIS LANDSCAPE SHIRT IN PARIS. Who wears an Eiffel Tower shirt to go to work in Paris?? It's like wearing an "I ❤ Goa" shirt to your first day at work in a Goa.
Then comes this look with a breath of fresh air. We see Emily in a shin-length dress with polka dots and some other motifs paired with elegant black strappy heels by Elie Saab. This is the closest Emily has ever come to looking Parisian chic. This look is a sharp contrast to all the messy and over-the-top looks that we had seen and were yet to see on her.
Where do I even start? With this look, Emily missed the mark by a mile. Crosses over Breton stripes over plaid over metallic over camouflage over neon pink lace? Looks like the costume designer took all the fabrics she could find, and stitched it together. She paired it with a teal Chanel round bag and a Chanel jacket. We see the white cowboy boots make a comeback after the Chicago look, and it's nice to see Emily repeating shoes, you know, like one of us. But nothing can help improve the overall disaster that this look is. It's hideous, and my least favorite look from the season.
For a work event, Emily wears a black strapless cocktail dress with tule skirt and a black belt with a knockoff Alice and Olivia stace face bag. Why she had to ruin an otherwise elegant look with a quirky bag is beyond me.
This look is also one of the most questionable looks. She wears a polka dot bow top and a beige chiffon skirt with a pink fringe bag and the ugliest shoes in the history of footwear- Maison Margiela Tabi boots in beige. These shoes were made by Martin Margiela himself in 1988 and has been a brand staple ever since. The Japanese believed in separating the toe from the rest of the feet. While the legacy of the designer and the history of the shoe is rich, no outfit can make the shoe look good, least of all this one.
Next, we see Emily in a market and while everyone else wears heavy coats, Emily shows up in a crop top, high waist jeans, a colorful hat and a Chanel round bag. Who wears an outfit like that to go to the market? While the hat is chic, we can't disregard the fact that the look is insanely unrealistic. Emily's style might be a lot of things; practical is not one of them.
We next see Emily wear a black and white gigham blazer and shorts set paired with a red beret and yet another Chanel bag. Enough with the Chanel bags. But credit where it's due, the look is quite chic. The look is very Blair Waldorf, although she wouldn't wear that in 2020. But the Mona Lisa tote bag? Now I question everything positive I've said.

Kanji Title: 14 Year Old Summer Soda Artist: Sanbon Ribbon Lyrics: カナボシ☆ツクモ (Kanaboshi ☆ Tsukumo) Composer: Hiramy
Sawara sounds awesome in this one. One of my favorite from the whole album. It has a tint of childish adoration yet also this nostalgic, melancholic tint of growing up, leaving memories of that someone you look up to in the past - Eshtar
Translated Lyrics
A flashback came as I was drenched in a suddenly pouring rain My throat is so dry, it feels like dust just like that city, devoid of things
The words that I couldn't say to you haven't disappeared, and along with summer just like bubbles, they float up to the surface
Wait, Lonely fourteen soda please release it, at the surface of an empty can is a heaven displaying the connected droplets of summer After all, Lonely fourteen soda I won't forget. The evening rain shower hurt
It's not like it's the aftermath of thinking too hard things like uneasiness or sunflower without me realizing it, they all just disappeared
The tag hanging on your shirt drenched by your sweat, your habit of laughing while cracking a joke, the unison of crickets chirping and the premonition of rain
wait up, Lonely fourteen soda I don't remember, the taste from that time Although I had tucked in the loose shoe lace after all, Lonely fourteen soda even if time had passed, it remains swaying
The haze with a tint of remaining cold Until now, all the time I can't let go of your voice that disappeared that day in a poof, as it had tanned on my skin
I want to become you so much I had sunburn on my skin like yours Even though the moment I touched the regret of days in the past it becomes smaller and smaller
Wait up, Lonely fourteen soda Take me along, at the surface of an empty can is a heaven displaying connecting droplets of summer I am sure, Lonely fourteen soda It's somewhere in that city even now
Under the sky that seems like it will fall Forever, lonely fourteen soda I won't forget. How you were the only summer.

Golden Foodog Guardian Lion Custom Tabi Boots. Just finished this today, hope you will like it, all handstitched. A mixture of gold and black fabric. The Foodog & golden waves fabric were from Japan, personally picked when I was there, and the stone fabric and golden koi were custom printed from Thailand. The traditional jakitabi boots like this actually have very nice insoles, if anyone wondering. Also, I have the lace up black tabi shoes back in stock, you can message me for sizing. I will also update on the website when I have the chance to. #squamish #ninjaboots #japanesetextiles #japaneseclothes #ninja #noragi #hiphop #casualoutfits #borojacket #vintageclothing #vancouver #ninjawarrior #handstitched #patchwork #streetwear #samuraipants #ninjapants #japanesevintage #patchworkjacket #streetfashion #japaneseboro #oneofakind #streetstyle #handmade #fashion #menclothing #customtabi #tabi #jikatabi #customshoes (at Squamish, British Columbia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CK3LeOdjYwW/?igshid=1tffwhshctpx8

Character redesigns
Frisk:
Frisk is a girl and is ten years older than her cannon age. She wears blue short shorts on top of black leggings, brown hiking boots, a dark gray t-shirt of a bunny sticking out of an army tank wearing a World War II-era helmet, a light brown World War II bomber jacket with a cream colored fuzzy collar, and a worn red bandanna around her neck. Sometimes she puts her hair up in a ponytail, leaving bangs out. Her “weapons” are distractions such as fireworks, colored smoke bombs, and poppers.

Toriel wears close-fitting light blue denim shorts down to her knees, a sleeveless or very short sleeved and collared off white blouse with small strawberries printed all over it, and white and blue striped flats. Her weapon is a monk’s spade.

Asgore was given his pink shirt with white flowers on it and jeans, but he prefers wearing his armor. Only on exceptionally hot days will he change. He doesn’t have any shoes. He insists the broken glass and re-bar doesn’t hurt his paws. He has his hair/mane tied up in a bun or ponytail most of the time. His weapon is his trident.
Chara:
Chara is a boy and ten years older than his cannon age. He wears a hoodie in the same style as his sweater; green with a yellow stripe through it. He got mad everyone got a new look and tore off his hoodie sleeves. He wears black jeans and a couple bracelets on one wrist. He wears black Vans. Sometimes he wears a football helmet he modified to have horns sticking off of it. He always wears it in battle and sometimes when he isn’t. His weapons are a shotgun and a fireman’s axe.

Asriel is ten years older than his cannon age. Since he’s older, he has horns. He wears faded black skinny jeans that are torn on the knees, a purple plaid button up shirt (which he usually keeps tied around his waist) and a black graphic t-shirt. The design is to be determined. He wears black low top Converse. His weapon is a baseball bat with nails and razor wire around it.
Undyne:
There is no change to Undyne other than she wears her leather jacket unzipped over her tank top. Her weapons are two forearm machetes with brass knuckles on the end.
Alphys:
Alphys wears dark gray upper-thigh (not necessarily short shorts) shorts, black thigh high socks, a pink 3/4th sleeve shirt with black sleeves, pink hi-top Convese, and a pink ribbon tied in a bow on the tip of her tail. Her weapon is a replica anime sword. not renji abarai’s

Papyrus:
Papyrus has a black long sleeve shirt and leggings under his armor. He wears knee length red tabi boots with black laces and a long red hooded cloak. His weapon is a katana.
Mettaton:
As of now Mettaton does not have a redesign. Partially because I couldn’t think of one.

There was Lady Gaga’s icy blue hair, Cody Fern’s hoofed Margiela boots and an overwhelming abundance of frills. This evening’s Golden Globes red carpet was a sumptuous visual feast of ruffles, tulle, lace, and velvet. Frilly feminine flourishes were flaunted at every turn, and brilliant shades of vermillion and canary yellow each made a star turn, in contrast to last year’s parade of monochromatic black. (Though the strong political statements may have less visually present, some stars still opted to wear all-black paired with a white Time’s Up bracelet designed by costume designer Arianne Phillips.)
Without further ado, here’s FASHION’s list of best-dressed attendees of the evening.
