Encountering Erik in the Catacombs

From the wording/context I’m imagining that the Phantom has kidnapped you and is secluding you in his underground home

To escape this far you would need to be stubbornly determined

He left you at his home to run some errands, so the boat would not be at your disposal to bring you across the lake

When he had first kidnapped you, you swear that you saw a dark figure lurking at the bottom of the lake

And if you recall, he had mentioned something of a mermaid in his lake

Believing in such fairy tales as mermaids is a tall order, but from such an unusual man, you might actually believe the impossible

Whatever you faced in that murky lake, it would be better than staying confined here for a second longer

making my partner watch Hannibal and while rewatching i noticed again how little Hannibal fights back against Jack in 3x05. to the point i looked it up, and im sad i could only find a few things on it. i might be missing stuff, but why aren't more people talking about this??

Hannibal has been, one can imagine, underwhelmed by his life in Florence. of course he still has an esteemed role, this time as a curator. he still eats, breathes, and sleeps lavishly. he still indulges himself in the occasional murder, though this time around it feels more about convenience and less about rudeness. reading off the cover, it seems perfect. he even has Bedelia with him– someone who knows him, someone to share this life with

but that's not what he wants. he only left his life in Baltimore out of necessity, and he intended on leaving with Will, prior to his betrayal. Hannibal misses Will, who knows him so intimately, who can read between his lines. He misses the challenges, and the way Will made him think. He misses consulting on his crimes, gloating directly in Jacks face without the latter having a clue. Hannibal misses the mind games, and his brain is feeling dreadfully unfit without them. he probably took up sudoku or something but how the hell does sudoku measure up to brainwashing one of, if not the, smartest person he's met. Hannibal's big fat brain is under-stimulated. with no one to challenge or intrigue him, he becomes depressed and self-destructive.

Will is searching for him. Hannibal knows that because he's seen him, stood feet away from him while Will asked for him, but he's able to go back to his mind games which gives him some relief from his boredom. he toys with Will, undoubtedly waiting for the right time to reveal himself. but seeing Jack, he remembered their first fight and the challenge that came with it. Jack was just as good, if not better, at fighting as Hannibal was. an even match. he does not rush out of the building as he could have; he's been working there for quite some time at this point, surely he knows another way out that Jack wouldn't be able to find in the labryinth of a new to him building. at least not until Hannibal was long gone. instead he takes his time, calling out taunts and all but begging Jack to give him a beating. he wants to feel something. something other than the boredom and the emptiness and the missing Will. he knows better than anyone that the sharp pain of knuckles hitting bone would simplify things– clear his head and bring the more important things to light. Hannibal wants to go back to his life before, and in this very moment it is the best way he knows how. so he lets Jack beat the shit out of him. sure, he tries to grab a knife here and he gives a little kick there, but this is not the Hannibal we know. we've seen him fight, and we've seen him kick ass but this is... dare i say it, pathetic. once he's good and bloody he crawls his way to the window he'd just sent Pazzi out of with every intention of being sent out of it himself.

he realizes that maybe he can trust these people to do what they have always done. maybe he can trust Will to read him like a book once again, so he goes to the gallery knowing that Will could find him there. and, unsurprisingly, Will does exactly that. but this time the person he's looking for is actually in the shadows he's searching through, and this time Hannibal actually reaches back out.

Finally watching Grians video so I'm gonna summarize my thoughts for the hermits as it goes! This is gonna be a long one so all the summaries and thoughts below the cut :]

Ren: Absolutely love what he's doing with the Gigacorp stuff and the like, poisoned terrain and all??? Always a fan of ppl making stories and worldbuilding so we love to see it! I'm not watching Ren's pov but I've seen bits and pieces from other povs so its not completely new to me :] Ren's honestly just such a delightful person, love to see him stoppin by other ppls episodes!

Tango: One of my main povs this season, a surprise to nobody, absolutely love all the steampunk and his factory and everything he's got going on. Unsurprisingly he's found a new hole to live out of but who didn't see that one coming lmao. Tango rightfully has a place in my three-way tie for favourite hermit.

Cleo: this is my first time seeing their base this season! And damn what a shame its been this long cause I'm already really invested in the little story shes cookin up. The wizard tower is just,,,,, so cool??? I love the block palette for it! Not to mention all the armour stand work its so so cool, definitely gonna have to set aside time to watch their pov after this cause I desperately want to get the full story now! All of the spaces have character and feel very real with all the armour stand work and everything, definitely a master of her craft o7

Scar: So ive only seen Scars latest episodes and streams, i didnt watch anything before them, so it's like kiiiinda new? But also ive watched all of Grian's so ive seen most of this like, out the corner of my eye the whole time. Scar's builds always have so much story and character you love to see it, there's just so much soul and care behind his builds??? Ajcjdjacjs I got so scared seeing the creeper test tube thing empty I'm used to there bein a lil guy in there. The train is SO cool and scar is just So good at glass work??? The swaggon hat o7 emotionally i never left season 8. Scars one of my favourite hermits so i had a lot to say

Joe: another hermit i dont watch yet love dearly, hes just so much fun. Joe is just insane (/pos) and just so creative and imaginative in such a unique way, holy shit. I really need to watch more of his stuff cause the vibes are truly immaculate. Also as an aside this finally answers to me where Cubs labryinth is cause i had no idea until now lmao. That thing is MASSIVE btw. Joe Hills,,, just the whole scale of this whole thing is totally insane he deserves so much credit for this. I envy his dedication wowww.

Bdubs: Another hermit i dont watch but would love to, and who i see a lot of through other povs. Bdubs is like beyond any other builder in this game, hes like,,, a true artist, yhe way he uses blocks and everything is just ajdnfjwkdkw true art. Hes like painting, not building. Always absolutely blown away by everything he does in this silly block game. He wants to make ppl feel feelings and it DEFINITELY comes through. THERES WAS EVEN NYLIUM ON THE GROUND WHO DOES THAT! OHH and the FRAMING of it all?? The way this man thinks is just art on its own. I could look at bdubs builds forever i swear. Its phenominal. Note: keralis spotted in the storage cave <3 thats my guyyyyy. THE SILOS??? so so pretty. The way he uses thw bottom edge of the polished diorite to make those solid lines through it??? Aghhh its so cool. Blown away with how he makes depth on flat surfaces, its just insane. AND THE GRASS IS HAND PLACED? THE WATERFALLS??? Always lovely to see bdubs builds.

Cub: i know almost nothing abt what Cubs been up to except for the rockets, always lovely to see him showing up in other povs. Lovely to see him messing with sculk again, hes gone feral for it LMAO. All the sculk stuff is so interesting im probably gonna have to check out his videos also cause i am DESPERATE to know wth is going on with this because hes being so so cryptic with it. The rocket factory is just so cool? I love how much ppl can do now with the crafters.crqzy that he pulled the fireworks permit and decided to make it like a main part of his season. Just ALL IN with it. Respectable.

Etho: etho!!! Another of my main povs this season actually, which is new for me cause last time i tried to watch his season he made the shulker storage thing and it broke my brain and i couldnt understand anything. (This time it made sense though). I really love ethos base this season, even if his roof was still unfinished at this point in time lmao. I love his little pond and garden and balcony and all that. Also its not here yet in the tour but i LOVE the lighting work he did around the mailbox its SO good. Also obligqtory frogger is awesome. When the server download goes up at the end of the season there are gonna be SO many games to play o7

Impulse: impy!! We love him so much. Dont watch his episodes but love to see him around :] did not know his city was gonna be a game?? Thats so cool?? The citys already so cool and im so excited to see it finished cause its already looking lovely and i can tell its gonna be really cool all together :] love the lore and all around the city too!

Zedaph: a hermit i watched quite a bit of last season but nothing yet this one, lovely guy always a fun time :] no surprise at all to see hes doing something else fun and silly this season. This really is a season of minigames! This guy is absolutely wild and just so much fun

Pearl: another i havent been watching, to my own sadness as pearl is one of my personal favourite builders on the server! Her whole solarpunk aesthetic this season is just DELIGHTFUL. Another hermit ive been meaning to watch for a while now cause i just love how she does like,,,, everything? I love Pearl builds just so so much. Absolutely love the sunflowers in the floor of her storage (my favourite flower) and all the yellows just in general its just such a bright build and so so lovely. Theres so much character and all the build flows together so so nicely. Also her dye qnd flower shop??? SO nice with all the layering qnd the glass roofs and just how open and fresh it all feelsand qjdjfjsjdsj i just love how pearl builds so much she is KILLING IT this season

Doc: so im currently watching through docs pov and i kiiiinda dont want to be spoiled on any big projects and crazy farms hes planning, so im actually skipping his segment of the tour. Though i will still say doc is absolutely insane and i love all the crazy game breaking stuff he does, i just want to see it all as it happens :] if i do catch up eventually i may circle back to the tour episode later but for now no spoilers!

Skizz: what a delight! Havent seen his episodes but we love skizz so much, such a big heart on that guy and so glad hes here. Love him and all his gift hoarding and hes just so iconic. His big pyramid is all a big psychology metaphor and stuff and thats,, very very cool i didn't know that! Truly a season of minigames i love it!

Mumbo: ive watched some of the early stuff for his season but i had a solid like 6 months where i wasnt really into anything like at all, so i stopped watching after some of the early stuff, though i do plan to get back to his videos sometime because i love what hes doing this season! (Oh noo some of the stuff id written got deleted so i gotta try to rephrase) mumbos been getting so good at building lately and it really does show with his work this season! I absolutely love all his work with the concept art and everything, its my favourite kind of excessive and "unnecessary" worldbuilding that makes a project feel that much more alive.

Joel: I've seen joels first few episodes but dont really watch him much. Hes absolutely incredible in just how much detail he shoves into every little space. His whole base this season just feels so real and its all so intentional and well planned and thought out. His build feels almost like its just been torn out of a real city and dropped straight into minecraft, theres just so much characters and attention to his builds. Just a place i would love to visit and explore. One thing: i mean this in the best way, but his little songs give me the WORST second hand embarrassment its so hard to listen to LMAO thats most of why i have a hard time watching his videos. Hes so cringe and i absolutely LOVE it. Never change, joel

Keralis: remember what i said about my three way tie of favourite hermit?? Keralis firmly holds a place right up there <3 another of my favourite builders and always holding just the most DELIGHTFUL vibes and just the sweetest face on the whole server. Embarrassingly i am... not fully caught up on his episodes, ive only seen up to episode 10. In my defence i only came back to hermitcraft in the last few months so i have a lot to catch up on! Though unlike with doc i have no qualms about spoiling myself because its not like lovely builds from keralis are anything other than my expectations :] Ive only just started his part of the tour but i know im gonna be smiling the whole way through <3 absolutely beautiful base i want to go here for vacation asap and never leave, beautiful trees and booshes and all the little huts, i love it all so so much. Also i would absolutely love a tour where keralis shows every single tree individually you dont even understand i would happily sit there and watch the entire thing <3 keralis why are you so hard to come up with a good design for i swear ill find one eventually hes just such a bug to me. I just want to sit along the side of one of the paths with a nice tropical drink its just so so lovely. If yall let me talk about keralis i will NOT be shutting up any time soon, if this mini essay is anything to go by. While on the topic id like to also talk about his season 9 base becau[character count exceeded, the following 10,319 characters have been archived and removed from this post (/j)] jokes aside, absolutely love everything keralis does, will never not be obsessed with everything he does <3

Xb: you know i gotta love him, just such a sweetheart. I dont watch him but you tend to see a lot of him if you watch a lot of keralis like i do. Absolutely delightful guy and such a sweet face :] love his little modern starter house too. Ive never actually seen his monument base thing but its so impressive. I, too, love prismarine so so much, and the oranges too its all so lovely, one of my favourite minecraft mobs <3 absolutely love his storage too with the guardian aquariums?? Amazing

Grian: another of my main povs! Love how open concept it is this season, how loose hes playing the game and how freely he's been playing it out this season, its been a really fun watch! Absolutely love the vibes of the chamber of sea critters its so atmospheric. Always love a grian build :]

Gem: another hermit whos building style i love yet dont watch sadly. First of all i just love how gem does the bright coloured roofs? Theyre very bright and i love the gradients she used with the moss and bamboo its so pretty. I didnt know her base was based on Dredge! Thats a game ive been meaning to check out and now im just more interested lmao. Gems another hermit who does just so much story with her builds and its all so interesting, definitely another high up on the list of hermits i really want to watch. Also i LOVE her little starter boat, its so cute and simple and so well executed. As well as the lighthouse! Honestly just seeing the collectors house now its gotta be one of my favourites, the colours and shapes and forms just look so nice? Nothing but praise for Gem tbh her builds this season are just lovely o7

Xisuma: we finally get to the 3rd and final hermit in the tie for my favourite! Despite the fact that... i havent watched like any of his episodes this season... i do tend to watch X more from his streams though in my defence, and hes the watchthrough im planning after i finish catching up with doc tbh. Not skipping his though cause ive already seen a lot of his base so theres not much that feels all that much of a spoiler. Plus i cant miss out on any Xisuma content <3 also to mention, i would love to be able to draw X one day but,,, i cant draw armour. One day o7 back to the topic of the tour though! I love the vibes and palette and everything hes going for this season! Its so structural and i just love the aztec inspiration! Its very natural and overgrown and its just amazing and impressive. X is just always just so delightful :] i honestly love his storage too with the walls of shulkers and all the colours and everything, and all the sorting and stuff its so cool. X does just so much impressive, i envy his organization especially. Honestly such a delightful person and i always love tuning into his streams and videos alike, and hopefully i finish my doc binge so i can watch xisumas season 10 episodes finally cause im really looking forwards to them in particular! He definitely doesnt give himself enough credit as a builder (a common theme among some hermits sadly). I love all the farms and stuff! I really want to get more into farming and stuff in general personally cause i love automation in any way i can, ive just yet to learn it for minecraft. The Golia copper machine is so cool?? I remember the big aging machine from i think last season, where it spread all the stuff out and brought them together when it was aged or something? Idk i love copper farms even if they are a little less useful now... x is just so cool and delightful :]

Wels: Tbh i know very little about welsknight, hes a pov i dont watch and one that doesnt really interact with my main povs, but hes a very pleasant individual! i really like his build and can appreciate a man with a distinct aesthetic! the silhouette and shapes of the castle is really nice! its just a very solid base :]

Beef: i dont watch beef personally but i did see quite a bit of him at the start of the season through... a certain unnamed perspective that i watched when the server first started, and also because he does show up through some other povs i watch too! He's a really nice guy and its always lovely when he stops by other povs :] i really do like how hes done his base this season with the big open farm, hes done it well!

Hypno: Another hermit i really dont know well, for similar reasons to welsknight, since he didnt really do a tour theres not as much i can say because i really dont know much of anything about him, to be honest. his base is really cozy though! ive only ever seen his exteriors as people fly past/over his base, but its really cozy and warm! ive always been a fan of pink and brown together in general :]

False: another hermit i dont know all that much, admittedly, but another lovely member of the server, i also dont really know what shes been up to this season, but i really like it! The colours, texturing, and shapes are all really interesting! I love the industrial underbelly, its so interesting and cool! False is actually another hermit i really would like to check out at some point! I love the vibes :] I also love the little hints of lore! the trees and terrain is also very nice! id like to see more of what shes been working on! if any false fans see this feel free to hit me up id love to know more abt her and all that!

Jevin: another hermit i dont know very well but i do see him on some other hermits streams sometimes and he is also a very good vibe when hes around! ive never seen his base before but i really love the enchanted forest! never get enough of those. plus the ambience and sounds are so unsettling and its just so cool. i love the palette and its very interesting! I love how dark and moody it all is, theres a really nice atmosphere to everything hes done so far!

And obviously finally the shopping district, what a lovely mishmash of all the hermits and their building styles and its all so lovely. Absolutely loved this video even though it took me like two whole days to get through. im so excited to watch more of these povs that ive gotten new interest in, not to mention the reminder that im only caught up on one of my three favourite hermits, im really overdue a few proper binges, huh?

If anyone actually did read all of these little blurbs thanks so so much for bearing with me, I know I definitely gave some hermits a little more time to talk about than others, and i feel bad for the first few because i may not have gone in depth about how i felt about them as i may have if theyd been later on, but i dont want to worry about revising all my thoughts on everything, this has already been a massive little project for me to basically journal these thoughts as i watched and i dont have the time to do it all over again lmao.

I love each and every hermit so so much for all they do, and im so glad grian did this mid-season tour so we could get a full look of the server all in one place! its lovely to get to see all the work everyone is putting in and how everything is coming together, i know theres always so much from the seasons before this i watched that i still know next to nothing about, so its really cool to get to look at it all!

i was perusing wikipedia for historical gothic architecture similar to nohr's vibe (since not all gothic horror is equal); thistle chapel seems like a pretty metal and visually striking similar edifice considering the dark/black interiors mixed with the golden hue and the dramatic lighting mixed with the signature pointed arches.

(imagine anankos' mask and sun/moon motifs on the ceiling like iago's golden half mask, reminding the viewer there's always somebody more powerful watching. shit would be so creepy.)

but you know a cool visual/architectural element nohr would definitely have that i haven't seen in fanworks? labryinths.

tell me this shit isn't straight out of a nohrian dragon's blood ceremony.

apparently a ton of chapels/cathedrals/castles had labyrinths (walking through them was meditative) - imagine these under anankos-faces, for one. but take it a step further and imagine krakenburg castle deliberately built as a labyrinth to loose the unwary permanently in its depths....

mages dissapearing people who get lost, or setting traps/evesdropping parallel corridors..... the throne room at its centre and most defensible point..... even just as a visual motif for metaphor or background design element, you could get a nutty amount of mileage with this.

Re-reading Turtles All the Way Down. I think my favourite part of the entire book is Aza’s fear that she is a fictional character.

Because, of course, she is a fictional character.

It’s just… the way that medical language describes mental health, although it has it’s uses, is so clinical and cold that describing the difference between reacting to a stressor and chronic anxiety as “irrational” worry…kind of doesn’t quite get it.

Like let’s say your anxiety presents itself like this. Your loved one is late. You expected them to be home by now, but they’re not. They haven’t texted a reason. You haven’t heard from them. So your mind starts spinning and you imagine them dying in a horrible car accident and that’s why they’re late and they might never come home and they could be dead right now.

Given that you have no evidence anything bad has happened, and there are many reasons they might be late that have nothing to do with harm coming to them, this could be characterised as “irrational” worry. But the chances of them being involved in a car accident are not zero.

The chances of the bad thing you fear happening are never zero.

So how do you live with it?

You have to recognise that your emotions are there for a reason. Fear has a purpose, it’s their to protect you, but if you find that fear has stopped protecting you and it’s started hurting you instead, that’s when you have an anxiety problem.

The nature of anxiety (in my experience) has nothing to do with whether or not the fear is warranted or plausible, and everything to do with whether or not the fear is helping you deal with the problem (which is what fear is supposed to do!) or getting in your way of dealing with the problem.

The medical language of “irrational” worry can be unhelpful to you when you’re in that mindset, and it might make it harder for you to recognise when worry is anxiety, because it’s just not going to feel irrational. It will feel like a valid response to a real danger.

And Aza’s anxiety that she is a fictional character, when she is, of course, a fictional character is just such a good way of representing that mindset.

And the story itself — Aza is afraid that being a fictional character means that none of this is real, none of this means anything. But even though the fear is true, the conclusion that leads her to fear it is not.

She is a fictional character. And all of this is still meaningful. All of this still matters. All of this love is still real. All of this hope is still meaningful.

Your fear is justified, but the conclusion you draw from your fear is untrue.

Not only is it a fantastic literary way of depicting an anxious mindset, it’s a fantastic literary way explaining how to live with an anxious mindset.

I don’t know if Alaska Young ever made it out of the labryinth of suffering. But you know what? I think Aza Holmes did.

That’s a pretty damn good story.

That’s a hell of an ending to an anthology.

Oh my God Kitty in ToonTown, the ultimate Alice in Wonderland AU.

She falls through that tunnel Eddie drives through and lands in a world where ecerything has a face and won't give her proper directions. Come to think of it, a 1980s style ToonTown would have Ralph Bakshi and Don Bluth creations so Kitty's wonderland would look more like Labyrinth 😂

Ooooohhhh my god!!!! Ok ok ok. I love Labryinth so much! Imagining a Labryinth AU with WFRR and Kitty as Sarah! We need to talk about that sometime.

But back to the Kitty in Toontown AU. Who would be the Queen of Hearts? Judge Doom I guess? And Alice going off on the queen; I can totally see Kitty yelling at Judge Doom like that. Though she doesn't need to grow bigger to gain that courage XD

And Kitty interacting with Don Bluth's and Ralph Bakshi's creations! That ought to be something. I'm more familiar with Don Bluths work than Ralph's, but I have heard of some of his films... And oh boy 😅

WE FUCKING GOT IT!!!!! after three hours i have 100%'d the group date cafe!

unfortunately, i think i was the one eating dirt from making yosuke into my destined partner... (though tbh i wasn't expecting much, it's yosuke, he was being yosuke and i'm not surprised, though it does make me wonder if he exhibits the same behavior to souji).

in any case, some notes about the second item that we got from the end of the dungeon... it won't be that coherent i'm still processing da information...

i have to say i was REALLY surprised with rei's reaction to zen opening the chest... like honestly that whole dialogue exchange was so intriguing to me! honestly, too intriguing, that i feel that i'll need a few days to process, let it sit, you know the deal.

the way where the items at the end of each labryinth trigger some form of memories to zen (but seemingly none for rei, albeit... rei's "memories" seem to be more gut reactions coming back than actual tangible information)... it really interests me!

i find it very interesting that zen mentions that the items belong to rei (niko the rabbit, as well as the toy ring). i'm going to operate on the assumption that what zen said is true because... to me, if you're amnesiac and slowly getting your memories back... i don't really see any reason to lie about it? if anything i'd imagine the other way to handle it would be to withhold the revelations you got (and ofc some other way of reacting that im probably not thinking of at the moment).

with this in mind, it makes me ask a few questions...

how did rei's belongings end up in the depths of the labryinths?

what is the significance of keeping these items tucked away and protected by the guardians? does zen and/or rei regaining their memories pose some threat to the state of the world/this distortion? (we know that it's finite, that's what margaret said) (i almost think that rei getting her items back could possibly heal the distortion, but not before zen and rei have a sob story once they both get their memories back? idk man i don't have much to work with)

the way in which rei reacted in this scene really struck me... i know i said that earlier but. damn. here's my livereact from obsidian because i was so. shocked. it felt really? refreshing? to see rei emote in such a way. but also mildly terrifying because she's been like " YAY FOOD! wait did you mean this food? (｡･∀･)ﾉﾞ" for most of the game so far. like holy shit.

rei's outburst is... a lot to take in, i do think that it gives some credence to my trains of thought that, hey! zen might be part of some kind of terrifying entity/the one that's created this distortion, if rei had such a reaction here. it really makes me curious how much emotion these next two items will stir up. will rei say more emotionally charged things? what other cryptic information will zen reveal?

i do like this direction though- that it's possible that even if zen desires to protect rei, and take responsibility for her wellbeing, zen pre-memory loss might've caused rei great suffering. it's a fun flavor!

i do feel that i tend to fixate on the question of "what is zen" a lot more than "what is rei," but. i think seeing that these items supposedly belong to her... and that elizabeth mentions that you wouldn't normally find living humans here... hm. i almost want to say that she's dead and that she died before the events of the game?

i liked that when chie saw the ring- she noted that it was a toy ring and that it's something you'd find at fairs. so it made me think back to the theme-ing of this world- how it's a cultural festival. i'm still not entirely certain of the significance but maybe it's something that rei wanted to see? or maybe she died here? idk. i don't really have a way to intuit rei's cause of death if she's... well, dead, but. i'm. definitely interested in seeing if there's (future) information i can use to figure this out.

OH and one last thing- i think it'd be interesting if whenever zen and rei get their memories back, they leave the party or are forced to by god knows what. unfortunately i don't think they'd do that because zen and rei, gameplay-wise, are the low-maintenance characters, but!! i'd love to be proven wrong (but i'd still enjoy them leaving the party lololol)

in any case!!! this was a good session of pq. i definitely want to play more and see what the other labryinths have to tell because i need more information in order to speculate. i think im at least 40% done with the game :D and it'll probably take me another 35 hours at minimum to finish this game, i think?

Crying Hard / Jareth Headcanons

Okay, so, Jareth freaks the HECK out when he first finds you.

He tries to play it off all cool, as if he has the whole situation under control. He wraps his arm around your shoulder and the other underneath your knees, lifting you up and cuddling you against his chest even though you tell him repeatedly it’s just a scrape and you can walk.

He just shushes you, brushing a gloved pointer finger over your cheek and walking you back to your shared bed chamber, tutting at you calling your injury small when he can see how serious it is.

He has a look of nonchalance on his face, the lines a little deeper and a slight frown if you look closely, but you can feel his heart hammering against your side, so you know he’s terrified.

If it had been worse, if he had lost you, he would have moved every star in the sky, destroyed them all, just for a hope of getting you back to him somehow.

When he finally lies you down on your bed, he spends as little time as he possibly can finding some medicine, and some clean rags and water, as he doesn’t to leave you alone for too long. 

He kneels by your side, washing away any blood, putting ointment on any bruises, getting the goblins to run and get you some water and more pillows when he can see you squirming.

He lets you hold onto his bicep the whole time, squeezing it, as he talks through everything he’s doing with you both to keep you awake and your mind occupied away from the injury, and so that you would know what to do if this happened again and he was away on business.

He seems calm when he finishes, pressing a kiss to your forehead, but his eyes are dark and angry and you know the goblins are in for it later for not making the Labyrinth a safe place for you.

He disappears off for a while, but returns later with some dinner he’s made you - it’s pretty bland, and inedible, but it’s the first time he’s cooked human food and you appreciate the sentiment.

He spends the rest of the night cuddling you after that - not sleeping, too wary, but instead keeping one eye open for any changes or flickers from you. Luckily, you sleep sound, tucked into his arms, and he finally falls asleep when the sun begins to hit through the open window.

He doesn’t let you out of his sight after that. Wherever you go, whatever you’re doing, he has his arm wrapped around your waist, a scowl on his face that rests upon your head, until he really starts bugging you and you elbow him to go.

You didn’t normally dream a lot. There was normally a normal amount of random dreams bonking around in your head but it was only after you had woken up a few hours early on accident and then fallen back asleep. 

The dreams you had been having that week were different. You were having what seemed to be continuations of the same dream, a cohesive story that you could even remember in the morning. You couldn’t remember everything but the feeling was always the same.

At first you just chalked it up to having just read that book. The book about Jareth and the princess and the maze of sorts. Everyone had read it when they were kids and you hadn’t thought about it in years until you saw it when you were babysitting your nephew. As a girl in her twenties now you found the story a little funny but it didn’t mean you were infatuated with it when you were younger.

Then the dreams started.

The Goblin King arrives at night to take someone away like your nephew and then you have to run around looking for him. The idea was preposterous but when you woke up it made you feel adventurous and excited like somehow you were managing to get things done even in your sleep.

A few weeks after the dream began you found yourself watching your nephew again.

“Thank you so much for coming today. He just loved the stories you told him last time and he would not accept the regular sitter,” your sister said. You smiled, shaking your head and dismissing her.

“It’s not like I’ve been doing much else. I love watching the idiot,” you teased brushing his scruffy brown hair. He let out a hugh and kicked your leg but you ignored it.

“Don’t kick! Thank you,” your brother in law said again and you nodded. 

“Again, it’s no problem. We’ll probably have more fun than you guys at the auction.” Your sister scoffed.

“That’s for sure. Have fun guys!” she called before leaving. Then it was just you and your nephew Seth and the rest of the night. You turned to him but he was already gone into another room. You let out another sigh and went to follow him.

“Seth, you can’t just disappear! What if the Goblin King nabs you?” you said with a crazy voice. You rushed into his bedroom and he was in there on his knees, shaking his head.

“You know the Goblin King isn’t real.”

“Hey, you have no authority to say that you’re like 2.”

“4,” he corrected. You shook your head and sat down beside him. 

“What are you looking for?” you asked. He was rummaging through some drawers and was obviously unable to find what he wanted.

“The book. With the Goblin King. I wanted you to read it again, you read it so perfect,” he told you. You smiled and shrugged.

“It’s one of my many gifts. Is it in the living room?” He thought about it for a moment and then he was running into the living room quicker than you could even get up. You let out a sigh and slowly started to get up off the floor. “Seth! Come on kid, I’m too old for this.” You expected him to retorte that your age wasn’t actually that young but you heard nothing from him. 

You started to walk into the living room slowly, looking around corners just in case he was trying to scare you. You let out a sigh as you came to the living room and didn’t see him in the immediate vicinity. 

“Seth?!” you called and then saw that the balcony to the main room was wide open. Your heart lurched as you saw a man standing there, facing away from you. You were however on the second floor of the home and it did cross your mind on how he got there. 

The cape was sparkly black and extravagant and the hair...the hair was too much.

“Can I help you?” you asked with more confidence than you thought you would muster. The man turned around and you knew it was him. There was nothing weird about the fact that you knew him. You saw him in your dreams every night but you hadn’t seen him this clearly since you were a kid.

“Hello Y/N.” 

“Jareth,” you breathed. He let out a smile.

“You know my name.”

“Of course.” All of the sudden you started to panic. “Where’s Seth?” 

“You know where Seth is.” You knew that his words were dangerous and you knew that it was practically a threat he was throwing at you but you were unable to ignore the feeling in your heart about him. 

“I’ve had dreams about you,” you told him for some reason.

“Those weren’t dreams.” 

You thought about him bringing you through the Labyrinth in your dream. The ideas he had given you that you were sure were just dream nonsense.

“They weren’t?” You looked into his eyes. “Of course they weren’t.” The wind moved around him and you were mesmerized.

“Care to join me?” he asked and he didn’t specify so that your mind could fill in the blanks. Jareth put his hand out to you and a ball slid down his arm and disappeared.

You didn’t even think.

You grabbed his hand.

A - Attribute: What brought on this side of them? What made them suddenly click?

He's not sure ehen and how it happened, it kind of just did. Hakuryuu has been through so much and just the tought of losing someone so dear to him brings him endless agony. His obsession slowly grows, day by day, with no signs of stopping.

B - Blood: If they're extreme how messy are thry willing to get?

He can vary depending on his mood, but he is generally not very messy. He just wants to get over this, to just eliminate his target and to just focus on his s/o.

C - Cope: Do they try to deal with this jealousy sooner so they don't lash out later?

He'd prefer sooner rather then later. Hakuryuu wants to be soft and sweet to his s/o, but there are times when the line really has been crossed and Hakuryuu can't be calm or composed. He is just a storm that's going to happen and no one can stop it.

D - Death: Do they feel any sorrow for any of their victims at all?

He might feel some guilt at the beginning, but he would just justify it by saying that "he was protecting s/o!" or that the person he killed was evil and desrved it. Over time though, his guilt won't really plague him anymore and that is when he really becomes scary.

E - Earnest: Are they intense?

He really can be instense, even if he doesn't mean to be. At the beginning no one would expect him to be so freaking intense, but he really can be. His proposal is touching but he is just so... needy that s/o can't help but to feel pressured to just say "yes".

F - Fight: How would they feel if you fought back against them?

He would feel so hurt and betrayed. Can't his darling understand that he is doing this for them? That his only goal is to keep them safe, to ensure their innocence?! He will probably even become agressive is his s/o keeps fighting him, and if ever came to that Hakuryuu can become really scary...

G - Game: How much do they enjoy watching you run and have a fearful expression?

He doesn't really like it. He only hurts his s/o when he feels like he "needs" to in order to keep thrm in order. He honestly prefers to see his sweetheart smiling and happy rather thrn to see them in tears.

H - Hell: What would be your worst experience with them?

The first time he locks his s/o up. It just happens so suddenly and Hakuryuu is just so... dark. His grip is tight and his gaze if far more intense then usual. Poor s/o might even end up in tears because of this, and the rattling chains around their arms really don't help them.

I - Iron: How emotionally stable would you be throught the events that unfold?

It all depends for how long his s/o is locked up. There is a good chance that s/o will just end up being totally isolated at the end and that is when they slowly start to crack. Hakuryuu though will not let them fully break, he just won't. He needs his darling to stay intact even if he ends up breaking in the process.

J - Jet: How fast would it happen for them to go yandere?

It takes him a while, it is a slow process. But once it finally happens there is no going back. The dark rukh has consumed him and his obsession is just too deep...

K - Kill: Would they hurt anyone to get to you?

Yes. He might feel a but of guilt with his first victim, but later he just doesn't give a damn. s/o just needs to be his!

L - Lonely: How much loneliness would they feel if you two were apart?

Hakuryuu is going to be so sad if he needs to be separated from s/o, but s/o on the other hand feels so free once the clingy prince leaves. They can finally be at least a little free, and they can finally breathe... Even if it is for a few hours.

M - Might: How agressive would they be towards you?

Once he falls in to depravity his mood switches very quickly and he gets angry far more easily then usual. s/o better be on their best behaviour because Hakuryuu really can get rough when he feels like it.

N - Next: Would they ever move on after you?

No. A huge, firm no. He lost Morgiana, he can't lose s/o too. There is a good chance that if he does end up losing them Hakuryuu will just lose his will to live.

O - Opression: How many rights would they take away from you?

It all depends on s/o's behaviour. If they remain loyal and sweet, Hakuryuu can be pretty lenient. If they keep fighting him though he will only become stricter and stricter.

P - Prize: Would they consider this a game?

No, not really. Hakuryuu is just really motivated to win over his darling but he doesn't really see them as a trophy.

Q - Quality: Would they be secretive or be flashy about what they do?

At first he would be very secretive about everything. Hakuryuu doesn't like to brag, but if given the chance he really will brag about his darling. How perfect and sweet they are, that they are too good to him... He'll blush madly but he truly means every word that leaves his mouth.

R - Rain: Would they keep you inside forever?

Once he is crowned Emperor, he will lock his little darling away where no one will be able to find them. He is just too paranoid that something will happen to them that he just needs to do it. By doing so not only does he secure s/o's safety, he can also be closer to his darling. He might feel bad at the beginning but he would just justify it to himself later.

S - Stalker: Would they stalk you? How intense would it go?

Yes. Hakuryuu is a huge stalker mainly because he is insecure. He wants to knoe as much as he can about his s/o, and stalking is the perfect way to do so. He is always quiet like a mouse and no one can see or hear him...

T - Turmoil: Would they force you to team up with them?

He would perhaps preasure his s/o to become Empress. He just needs them by his side, and Hakuryuu won't be giving them other options any time soon.

U - Usage: Would they use you to get what they desire?

Hakuryuu has two wishes, and that is to become Emperor and to have s/o. He would never use his s/o like a stepping stone, but he would rather climb up towards the top with s/o.

V - Version: Would they do anything diffirent from the classic yandere?

Well, because of his royal status and djinn, he can't exactly be described as a downright classic yandere. Instead of rope, Hakuryuu just uses vines from Zagan and he can always make the plans a bit more wild if it is necessary.

W - Wild card: A random yandere headcanon.

Hakuryuu can be very affectionate and downright needy. The poor boy is touch starved, and nothing brings him greater joy then to just have s/o in his arms. He apso loves to spoil and cook for them. If they eat or actually praise his meal, Hakuryuu might just faint from joy!

X - Xenophobia: How much would they get angry from their jelaousy?

Very angry. I imagine Hakuryuu to be a very jealous and possessive yandere, so his anger would be crystal clear to his s/o. At the beginning he might try to hide it, but the way he speaks through gritted teeth really would be a sign that he will snap right there and then.

Y - Yandere: How many crimes would they commit?

He really doesn't want to admit it, but quite a few. He also needs to be catious about them as well. If word got out that a prince of the Kou Empire killed someone in cold blood, things really wouldn't be well for Hakuryuu....
