All feeling reaches its peak when it is given free rein, then enters the stage of decline, filling itself with emptiness and nothingness, because it has already known everything and knows that there is nothing more to feel... and yet, with you, feeling has remained in a straight line, giving us the eternal pleasure of knowing that we are intangible and yet palpable before our mutual madness; that immature vice that seems to have no end.

Parsifal, Turning Difficulties into Healing, by Jack Kornfield.
"In the Arthurian legends, the young knight Parsifal joins the Knights of the Round Table to seek the Holy Grail. His mentor, Gournamond, tells him that to remain honorable, he must follow two rules: First, he should neither seduce nor be seduced. And second, if he reaches the Castle of the Holy Grail, he must ask, “Whom does the Grail serve?” As he travels, he sees all around him signs of suffering and disarray. But when Parsifal finally makes his way to the Grail Castle, he is utterly intoxicated by the court. He meets the wounded Fisher King and is offered a magical banquet that includes everything he could desire. He forgets his purpose and does not ask the essential question. The next morning the whole castle and kingdom disappear and Parsifal must wander and suffer for many years until by hard-won maturity he returns a second time. This time he remembers, “Whom does the Grail serve?” he asks. The Fisher King answers, “The Holy Grail serves the Grail King.” (The Grail King is God.) As soon as the Fisher King is reminded of this holy truth, he is healed, and in being healed, all that has rotted in the fields, all disharmony in his nation, all the sufferings of the kingdom are restored to peace and well-being.
The resolution of the journey to enlightenment comes when we recognize that both our suffering and our awakening are in the service of a higher good. Unless we serve the Divine, our unfulfilled needs can become entangled with out quest, and our spiritual experiences can work only to create a more expanded form of ego. A teacher who is overidentified with spiritual energy may subtly believe that, as the one who carries the teachings, it is he or she who must be served. We should be wary when there is a court around a teacher that focuses more on the person than on the wisdom of the lineage. When the Fisher King forgets whom he serves, the bounty of the kingdom fails, and all suffer from the king’s spiritual sickness."

Mt. MONTSERRAT "HUMAN FACE" IMAGE (NASA PHOTO SATELLITE)
The conjunction of its most high peaks (10x5 km.) look like an image with severe expression, as never seen before. A big sanctuary in photo appears in different colour like a "3th EYE" in this huge face from the "Landsat".
It is neither a woman, nor an object or animal. She is the harsh expression of a judge, impassive but dissatisfied. She even has her left eye in the perfect almond shape. You can't ask for more from chance,,… which I can't believe it is.
In the photo the location of his great sanctuary appears in a different colour. It seems as if the "Third EYE" of the Hindu religion had assessed that enormous face.

Foráneo, no tanto.
Seguiremos informando!

Fernandina Island
Area: 642 km 2 or 248 mi 2 Maximum Altitude: 1476 m or 4842 ft Human Population: 0
HISTORY: Fernandina Island first appeared on the navigational charts and crude map produced by the British buccaneer Ambrose Cowley in 1684. He named it Narborough Island in honor of Sir John Narborough, an English naval commander of the 17th century. Its Spanish name, Fernandina, was given to honor King Fernando of Spain, who sponsored the voyage of Christopher Columbus.
The island is most famous for its continuing series of volcanic eruptions. Many of the early visitors to the archipelago commented on dramatic changes in the landscape, smoking craters, and actual eruptions. The most famous of these is the description of a violent eruption in 1825 by Benjamin Morrell, the captain of the New York-based schooner Tartar. Another important historical event was the discovery and collection in 1906 by Rollo Beck of the California Academy of Sciences Expedition of the only giant tortoise ever found on Fernandina.
GEOLOGY: Fernandina is the westernmost island in the Galapagos Islands, the third largest and youngest of the islands, less than one million years old. It is the most volcanically active and sits at the center of the hot spot that created the Galapagos Islands.
La Cumbre Volcano is a shield volcano similar to those found in the Hawaiian Islands. Its summit caldera is approximately 6.5 km wide. During an explosive eruption in 1968, the caldera collapsed, falling approximately 350 m. The northern floor of the caldera has intermittently held a small lake, whose size, boundaries and position have periodically altered during eruptions. Recent eruptions have occurred both in the caldera and on the outer slopes of the volcano, with some of them reaching the sea. Since the establishment of the Galapagos National Park, there have been 13 recorded eruptions on Fernandina, with some of them lasting for several days. The most recent eruptions were in May of 2005 and April 2009.
TODAY: Fernandina remains the most active and most pristine of the Galapagos volcanoes. Except for a single visitor site on the northeast edge of the island, the island is maintained in its pristine state. Fernandina has a large land iguana population, which nests both on the rim of the caldera and in its depths. Due to the cold, upwelling waters of the subsurface Cromwell Current that hits the archipelago from the west where it is pushed to the surface, the waters surrounding Fernandina and western Isabela are the richest waters in the archipelago. These cold waters also provide prime habitat for both Flightless Cormorants and Galapagos Penguins.
CONSERVATION CHALLENGES: Fernandina is the most pristine of the Galapagos Islands. Two species of the endemic rice rats are found there. The majority of rice rat species on the other islands went extinct following the introduction of Black and/or Norway Rats. Fernandina and Genovesa are the only larger islands that have never had introduced mammals. The greatest threat to the flora and fauna is the potential for future introductions of aggressive exotic species. A single tourist site on the island helps to limit potential arrivals. However, the 1990s saw several illegal camps of local fishermen on Fernandina during the peak of the sea cucumber fisheries (both legal and illegal). Periodic monitoring to detect new introductions, especially of rats, must be carried out regularly to ensure the protection of the pristine environment.
Visitor Site: Punta Espinosa
This visitor site offers two major components – the short walk around the small peninsula and a longer walk inland to the edge of a large aa lava flow.
This point has been raised and lowered a number of times as a result of geologic activity throughout its history, with the last known activity in 1975, when it was raised approximately 40 cm, leaving corals and red mangroves exposed.
The highlights along the coast include Marine Iguanas and Flightless Cormorants. The Marine Iguanas nest here in the early part of the year with young emerging around June. At that time, snakes are commonly seen in the nesting zone. Other attractions include penguins, sea lions, Sally Lightfoot Crabs, and occasionally Galapagos Hawks and land iguanas.
Two dive sites are also located on Fernandina. The first is adjacent to the land site at Punta Espinosa and the second further to the south at Punta Mangle. Both are good sites for observing Flightless Cormorants and Galapagos Penguins, sea horses, marine iguanas, sea turtles, and various species of sharks and rays.

All supernovae are exploding stars. But the nature of a supernova explosion varies quite a bit. One type, named Type 1a supernovae, involves a binary star where one of the pair is a white dwarf. And while supernovae of all types usually involve a single explosion, astronomers have found something that breaks that mould: A Type 1a supernova that may have detonated twice. Type 1A supernovae occur in binary stars where one star is a white dwarf, and the other star is anything from a massive star to another white dwarf. As the primary white dwarf siphons material away from its secondary companion, it eventually gathers enough mass and exceeds the Chandrasekhar limit. When that happens, it triggers a cataclysmic explosion. But a Type 1a supernova named SN 2022joj is exhibiting some peculiar behaviour. This led the authors of a new paper to consider that the supernova may have exploded twice. Moreover, it didn’t have to exceed the Chandrasekhar limit to detonate. This artist’s illustration shows a white dwarf accreting material from its companion star. When enough mass has accumulated, it triggers an explosion: A type 1a supernova. Image Credit: NASA/CXC/M.Weiss The paper is “SN 2022joj: A Potential Double Detonation with a Thin Helium Shell.” It hasn’t been published yet and is available on the pre-press site arxiv.org. The lead author is Estefania Padilla Gonzalez from the Department of Physics at UC Santa Barbara and the Las Cumbres Observatory. Double-detonation stars are rare but not unheard of. They happen when the white dwarf accretes a layer of helium that ignites. In these types of explosions, the white dwarf doesn’t exceed the Chandrasekhar limit, and the explosion is relatively dim. These types of twice-exploding supernovae are called sub-luminous supernovae. But it’s not just the dimness that signals a double-detonation supernova. It has an unusual light curve where red light manifests 11 days prior to its maximum brightness. After that peak, it resembles a more typical Type 1a supernova. That, combined with other aspects of its spectroscopy, led the authors of the new paper to consider that Sn 2202joj might have experienced a double detonation. At different stages of their evolution, different types of stars can have layers or shells of different chemical elements. White dwarfs are no different and can have outer shells of either helium or hydrogen. The large majority of white dwarfs have a hydrogen shell or atmosphere. It’s not to scale, but this schematic shows the onion-like layers of a massive evolved star just before it collapses. Each concentric shell of plasma is burning inside the star. Image Credit: By User: Rursus – R. J. Hall, CC BY 2.5, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=2565862 The authors of this study suggest that Sn 2202joj has an outer shell of helium. In this case, the white dwarf’s companion star has an outer shell of helium and 2202joj has siphoned off some of that helium to form its own helium shell. That can trigger a helium detonation, even though the star hasn’t exceeded the well-known Chandrasekhar limit. An important point is that this helium explosion creates another element: an isotope of Nickel called 56Ni. All that nickel is visible in the star’s spectrometry. When the helium shell detonates, it not only synthesizes 56Ni. It drives a powerful shock wave into the white dwarf. That shock can trigger another detonation inside the star, and that’s how nature creates a double-detonation supernova. The spectroscopy from the supernova supports this explanation, according to the authors. “Spectroscopically, we find strong agreement between SN 2022joj and double-detonation models with white dwarf masses around 1 M? and thin He-shell between 0.01 and 0.02 M?,” they write. Light curves tell astrophysicists a lot about what’s going on with a star. This one is no different, and SN 2202joj’s light curve revealed a lot to the team of astronomers who studied it. Typically, a Type 1a supernova’s light curve looks like this. This light curve is typical of Type 1a supernova. The nickel produced by the explosion decays rapidly and creates a peak in brightness, then the luminosity decreases and is dominated by the decay of Cobalt. Image Credit: The Astrophysical Journal 547 (2): 988. DOI:10.1086/318428., CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=308666 But SN 2202joj’s light curve is different than a regular Type 1a SN. It has two separate peaks, and the first one is exceedingly red before quickly declining and shifting toward blue. The following image compares SN 2202joj’s light curve with light curves from other SNe as well as different models of double detonation SNe. There’s a lot of data in this image, but it’s worth a look. This figure from the study shows the colour evolution of SN 2022joj plotted against other SNe and Sne models in colour and time since explosion. Dashed lines are what different models of double detonation SNe predict. Black is 2202joj, while the other colours are other stars that astrophysicists have studied. Notice that the magenta and the blue stars are both other double detonation SN, while 2202joj is a thin helium shell double detonation SN. It’s particularly interesting that 2202joj is much redder in its early phases than the other supernovae. Image Credit: Gonzalez et al. 2023. The researchers aren’t 100% certain that this is a double detonation SN. The early red colours indicated that two explosions occurred, but other evidence doesn’t agree. “However, the nebular spectra composition in SN 2022joj deviates from expectations for double detonation,” they write. The nebular spectra contain strong Fe III emissions, which a double detonation can’t explain. “More detailed modelling, e.g., including viewing angle effects, is required to test if double detonation models can explain the nebular spectra,” they conclude. Supernovae, though rare, play an important role in nature. They synthesize metals and spread them out into space when they explode. Without them, there would be no rocky planets like ours. Type 1a supernovae are important because of the specific role they play in the Universe. Scientists think that they synthesize the majority of the elements in the iron group, from titanium to zinc. Nature creates all kinds of fascinating things in space, and exploding stars are some of the most awe-inspiring. Stars contain an enormous amount of matter, and when one explodes, the supernova releases a massive amount of energy in a short period of time. It’s only natural that these objects attract our attention.
*
THE PINE AT TIMBER-LINE
What has bent you, Warped and twisted you, Torn and crippled you? — What has embittered you, O lonely tree?
You search the rocks for a footing, dragging scrawny roots; You bare your thin breast to the storms, and fling out wild arms behind you; You throw back your witch-like head, with wisps of hair stringing the wind.
You fight with the snows, You rail and shriek at the tempests. Old before your time, you challenge the cold stars.
Be still, be satisfied! Stand straight like your brothers in the valley, The soft green valley of summer down below.
Why front the endless winter of the peak? Why seize the lightning in your riven hands? Why cut the driven wind and shriek aloud?
Why tarry here?

The moon smiles in the eternal light like a drawing… And the smile it paints is immensely celestial; it seems to invite us to fly, but we only manage to dream. The light that it outlines is of happiness.
In the peaks and mountains, its beautiful darkness throbs in the subtle reflection of love and its eternity… Her love captivates the heart that beats with the idyllic murmur of the one who seeks in Her the illusion of feeling unique, finding among breaths of life and particles that burn at the touch of the sunlight, a sublime communion with the stars.
Journeys are unleashed in dreams, like vibrations in the breath; drops of ocean that are restless to feel the contact with their roots.
We sail in the Universe and discover its notes of love, like small words that merge with Creation and lull the waves with the prayer of what we are loving.
We live with love that flows in All That We Are! Love that renews the air, that drives the fire, that brushes the water, that is felt in the earth... Love that runs through every particle that We Are!
Love, that hymn evoked by Our Hearts to the harmonic beat of the heartbeat of Our Mother Earth.
