my ohshc au is just kyoya’s dad has a personal vendetta against host clubs so kyoya has to hide his involvement / association with the host club
-> he can’t use his family’s influence as leverage or for resources
-> basically every host club event is the same but event planning is 1,000,000x more difficult and stressful
he should feel the weight of event planning anxiety thats my truth

Host Club AU for Nu
Host Club AU where Eiden broke the vase and now has to be their little plaything for the club to make back the money.
Kuya runs it as Tamaki
Yakumo is Honey-senpai
Quincy is Kyoya
Edmond is Mori
The twins are a separated Garu and Karu
The manager is Olivine
Rei is a reoccurring customer who’s solely asking for Kuya to be a brat.
I have nothing else rn. Just this.

Is there a reason Kyoka is dressed the way she dress ? Or is she just dress like this for funsies ?
Also like, Akira is very interesting to me so if you can go into more details about him it would be neat <3
A very good question regarding Kyoya—to which the answer is simple: Doll likes women :). For a more legit answer tho, Kyoya was initially based on Mastermind!Taka, pushing a “forcing equality (in the sense of ridding people of individuality) would ensure an absence of harassment and ridicule” before she was reworked to no longer be just some other villainous alter stereotype. She still holds an ideology of equality, and even an appreciation of despair partly because… danganronpa. But this comes in a mentality of embracing hope and despair together, wanting a healthy blend of both, trying to push that it’s important to let ourselves feel sadness *and* joy, instead of one over the other. Thus her design reflects this duality with the black and white. Think less Monokuma, and more BTAS Two Face (but without the crime, just the symbolism)
As for Akira—they are my special little guy :>.
I’ll get to drawing it eventually, but to kind of spoil it, the comic I’m planning sort of explains Akira’s mentality of “trust no one” in regards to the revival au.
However—unlike your typical Kiyondo—they exist even in nondespair timelines. And still has that mindset, to a degree. Years of harassment, abuse, and physical torture that teachers would straight up watch, have led to Akira struggling to find trust in most people, suspecting most people to just be planning another attack.
This also leads to them being a bit too paranoid for their own good, often having to be calmed down by Kyoya or even Taka.
Although, Akira does have some meaningful relationships—most strong of them being with Sakura. She was the first to find out about Taka being a system due to finding Akira having a very violent breakdown, far too stressed out to properly mask. When she initially tried to calm them down, they snapped at her, insisting she, too, was planning to “get them”. When she only responded with patience and kindness, they eventually settled down, soon even confiding in her. On a more sweet note, they’re the one who had managed to convince Sakura that, yes, Hina was very much into her.
Another relationship of theirs worth noting is far more on the romantic side, with everyone’s favorite polyamorous golden retriever, Makoto Naegi. Akira finds his moments where he lacks foresight to be charming, often describing his idiocy as “cute”.
A relationship they don’t have, however—is with Mondo. They DESPISE Mondo, insisting he’s a “pervert trying to make nice with the sweet guy”. Unsurprisingly, their equally brash and biting personalities clash terribly, to a point where neither can discuss the other without throwing in at least one insult.

ouran high school host club x resident lover au
so basically, mc is a poor student who got mysteriously a huge scholarship to this college, basically like in rl, but miranda isnt. a problem here. shes just the headmistress. thats it! or maybe shes the enemy host club. i havent decided i dont think about her that much.
but mc knocks over a vase and has to work for the host club, which is led by cass. and they all wear the boy uniforms not the dresses because the suits look better. and there is no misunderstanding about mc's gender! thats a lie actually maybe it would be funny if just no one knows what they are....
but cass is basically the tamaki equivalent and this au is literally just cass x mc mainly. because it makes the most sense. but its a host club and its an ouran high school host club au so... mc is also shipped with everyone.
bela is like what kyoya was, and is literally the manager. donna is a here too but shes not a teacher dw but like. i have no idea if shes a student?? shes just there tbh. but shes the mori to angie's honey. maybe she is a college student here too but one of those that goes to college years later... and when i make a community rl au?? i havent even seen that show what am i talking about. anywho! dani is kind of her own character here then obviously... cause no one could be the twins, nor do i want any of them to take their archetype tbh. and why not add mia and elena in here too!! maybe elena is actually the kyoya type... anyways. theyre a host club now and who will mc choose?? i mean. for this au cass. but now everyone is in the host club in those uniforms and go on wacky hijinks and learn about poor people existing!
also i literally havent seen this anime since 2020 its just a perfect au i had to share.

hikakao x dragonropa I think(I know nothing about anything)
dragonropa.
actually. i have thought extensively about an ouran danganronpa au. idfk how it would work as usually there is 16 students and idfk if there are 16 characters i can shove from ouran into this situation. But I do have IDEAS for certain theoretically hikakao/tamakyo plot points. Which I will post from an old convo below.
(context: in the danganronpa series a group of people are trapped in one location. To leave, you must kill another person. When a body is discovered a class trial is held. If everyone manages to correctly identify the killer, the killer is executed and everything goes back to square one. If everyone fucks up and majority votes someone innocent, everyone ELSE get executed and the killer gets to leave.)
(spoilers for dr1 and drv3 mentioned)
Tumblr media
^^I determined that it would be more meaningful if Kyoya was a killer and killed Eclair to protect Tamaki...since she was trying to kill him, or something. During his trial he deliberately tries to throw everyone off, not because he wanta to "win" and get everyone executed - he is fully prepared to die - but because he wants tamaki to learn to deal with this tough situation on his own. He wants tamaki to be the one to figure out he's the murderer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(to the last comment - trials in danganronpa (dr1 in particular) are notorious for being very very slow and retreading arguments over and over)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(fact: in dr1 they argue for like 20 minutes if the victim of a case was a student who was literally still alive and standing in the room with them also trying to prove she was not the person who was killed.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ANYWHO TL;DR - Hikaru's character arc would be something about growing independant from Kaoru after his brother dies, learning to carry the burden with him through the rest of the story. That, and/or he ends up dying in a very tragic way much like Kaoru.
Not pictured but a Hani/Mori dynamic was also discussed, taking keynotes from real DR dynamics. Though the "killing to protect someone else" was already used for kyoya/tamaki, I feel something similar could be achieved with hani/mori. Perhaps one of them comitting suicide for the greater good (like Oogami in dr1) or if you want to go darker, plotting the "perfect crime" so one of them dies and the other goes free. or perhaps killing someone together but at the EXACT same time holding the same weapon so they are both the killer technically. this has oddly never been explored in a DR game. (in dr there is a "no accomplice" rule but we never see simultaneous murders mentioned). fun stuff.

It’s fanfic day-
Okay so if you haven’t noticed today I went around and dropped an ask in like… most of my beyblade mutuals (and some nonmutuals I think?) inboxes and asked them for their favorite fics. If you didn’t receive an ask but wanna do this, like, go ahead? I probably was just like “oh hmmmmm idk if this person wants me in their inbox”
But! I’m also gonna take this chance and gush about some of my favorite beyblade fanfics, because I recently buckled down and actually got through a lot of the ones I wanted to.
Gotta start with “The Previous Wielder (Is Just a Guy)” by @artisadie (or squirt1254 on ao3). The fact Sadie has not published any more fics is criminal. Like, Sadie, it’s an actual crime that you gave me this fic and then nothing more. The dynamic written between Gingka and Ryo here is so compelling, managing to merge a serious reflection with their combined goofiness. It’s just really well-written, and also pretty short for anyone who wants a quick read.
My government mandated @lady-lazagna fic is “Christmas with Kenta” (on ao3) which I think is the first one I read of hers. A lot of her fics are very good, including Wounded Pride and especially the second chapter of Metal Mayhem, but I think this is the first work of hers I read, and one that really stuck with me. I like the way it manages to handle this sort of bittersweet feeling, choosing a slightly darker route of Ryuga’s future post-canon if he stayed alive, but also bringing it this very mundane feel. I think it’s an amazing work of both characterization of a wide cast, and also masterfully balances its tone.
As for another Kenta and Ryuga bonding Christmas themed fic, we’ve got “so this is christmas (the war is over)” by @little-christmas-song (ssongpyeon on ao3). Once again, Song, this is active violence against me for this to be your only published fic. Your writing style is addictive. This fic does focus a lot more on the dynamic between Ryuga and Kenta, and is a much more mellow piece taking place further post-canon. Song has a really good understanding of language, and their writing style is honestly incredible. I really love the way it sneaks it characterization for some of its supporting cast as well, and I think it’s just a really chill read overall.
And now for another absolute legend of the ao3, we have @starfishes-and-watercolors or CallmeCloudyorVal on ao3. There’s a lot of fics of theirs I like, from their Tithi fics to Adoption AU, but after thinking for about a minute I found that I could confidently say “The Working Dead” is my favorite fic of theirs. The fic focuses on Madoka and Yuki just having conversations with each other while being absolutely stressed from work at the WBBA, and I can confidently say this fic definitely influenced a fair few headcanons I have for them. It really helped me realize just how good of a dynamic these two could have, and is a pretty fun read for me just for that. The fic is just also very funny at many parts, especially when Yuki and Madoka get the closest to murder.
Lightning round! “Temple Tetris” by DinoSohn (on ao3) is a short humorous piece about Dynamis. It gave me a good laugh, and will probably do the same for you.
“Spicy sweet potato chips” by @ladyryukyo (mademoiselle1 on ao3) is also just a quick work about Ryo that I enjoy, and it focuses on Kyoya and Ryo’s dynamic. It’s got a pretty humorous concept, and executes that humor really well. I like the mundane insanity it has.
It was hard to choose for @heybeyby (candiedshekelsss on ao3) because I really enjoyed “A Leaf-Colored Contemplation” (btw, banger title) but I gotta go with “Fallen Down Where The Dead Boys Go” (seriously wtf is up with all your titles slapping???). How could I not, I got so much lore for this fic given to me and so much fear placed into me. This is a Shogun Steel fic, and a more plot heavy one at that, but if you’ve watched Shogun Steel I can’t recommend this fic enough. It has really good narration for each character so far, and a lot of good character building as well. I am so excited for where this fic will go, and especially excited for the characterizations of Maru and Ren we’ve gotten so far, and where those will go too.
At this point I have started to forget who I’ve mentioned by now and who I haven’t. Gonna come clean and say I am writing this post ahead of time, on google docs, and I’m still getting lost.
Time for some longer multichapters!
First off, I’d like to mention “From Different Eyes” by @masterofdemise (on ao3). This fic is about Dynamis and Pluto post-canon swapping bodies, and has a lot good character building for underutilized canon characters (Elysse counts). But most of all, this fic absolutely embraces the humor of the situation, and the humor of the characters. It is constantly leaning into the absurd, and the humor is written with the characters well in mind. I could go on for a while about how humor is used in this fic, but it absolutely makes it worth the read even if you aren’t interested in Dynamis or Pluto.
“And then there were 4” by @voidix (on ao3) is likely one of the most plot-heavy beyblade fics I’ve read. It takes a lot to commit to making a plot-heavy multichapter, and the set-up and revelations so far in this fic are quite fun. It has a lot of that beyblade absurdity, and I’m glad I read it.
@andro-dino has many good fics, though I don’t think my favorite choice will surprise anyone, as I wrote a fic inspired by it! “This Body of Mine?” (on ao3) Is a short, Toby-centric fic, and I think it’s just a really sweet character study. I don’t really know what to say about it other than it’s a good read, and definitely one anyone interested in Toby’s fanon character growth should read (we are seriously giving this dude so much).
@qloof has got a lot of fics published, but the one I’m gonna choose is “King and Tithi’s Pranking Adventure” (on ao3)  I just found it genuinely funny and sweet. I hope another chapter gets written, but if not, it’s still a solid read for anyone who’s interested, and has really fun characterizations for the legendary blader cast.
“Hagane” by @mellythedork (on ao3) is also a very neat fic, I love the magic it embraces for the mfb universe, and a lot of the writing is very cool. I’d definitely encourage you to read it if you’re a Ryo fan like I am, or just want to see Doji get his shit wrecked.
For my last fic, I wanna quickly shoutout “Gesso” by Arcylic (on ao3) which without a doubt really made me interested in what Team Starbreaker dynamics could be like. It focuses on Zeo and Jack’s dynamic, and has a lot of really fun dialogue between the two. I can bet this fic started a wave of people absolutely ready to try their own hand at the starbreaker dynamic.
Now, I can’t very well let the opportunity to talk about myself just pass me by. I have 53 published beyblade fics, so you can imagine it might be a bit hard for me to choose.
I will say if you’ve watched Shogun Steel, even just a bit, and haven’t read “Stolen Pride” yet, I’d absolutely encourage you to. Since I started in this fandom, I’ve really tried to make narratives about feminism that deal with the issues of the show in an in-universe manner. “Stolen Pride” is my newest work to explicitly focus on that, and I’d love people to read it and tell me what they enjoyed and didn’t. It’s a discussion I really want to have.
“Darkness in Triplicate” is one of my longest Hikaru-centric works, and a bit of a dark read, but I think absolutely worthwhile. I have always wanted to pull off adding Hikaru into the Masters plot, and I think with this fic I finally managed to do so.
Finally, I have to mention “By the Dead of Morning/I’ll be Better for It/And then Fortified I’ll Rise” which is the Faust joins Starbreaker early AU. I put likely way too much effort into this fic, and I really hope I’m not banned from other secret santas because of it (not that I’ll promise to not do it again…). It isn’t entirely my headcanons, but I really like the writing I did for this, along with the concept itself. It’s one of my longest works yet, and the fact I pulled it off makes me so proud of myself.
If you read this far, congratulations! You’re insane! But I’m really glad you read all this, I really appreciate a lot of beyblade fic writers, and actually committing and reading all the fics I’ve wanted to was a really good time. I hope if any of the fics on this list interest you, you go and check them out! And maybe leave a comment for the author. We’ve got an honestly impressive ficwriting community for how tiny this show is, and I can’t wait to see if even more people join! Yknow… so long as they’re not the type of people I gotta use that new mute function on… BUT WE’RE BEING POSITIVE AND HEY
We got a lot of cool fics :)))

Ouran High School Host Club - Borrower AU
I’ve had this idea in the back of my brain since July 2020, and I have periodically typed down some stuff to actually develop it. Hope you guys enjoy, and feel free to send me asks if you want to know more or have your own fun ideas for this concept! (Disclaimer: This is primarily self-indulgent. I want to speculate [and maybe write fanfic about] G/T with the characters, not construct an entire complex narrative. Not to say all logic goes in the trash, but this is mostly about having fun.)
BASIC PREMISE
Haruhi is a Borrower whose tumultuous existence has led her to live in the walls of Ouran Academy. She’s drawn to Music Room 3 because the Host Club orders food in abundance and there is always some left out for her to scavenge. She is eventually discovered by the club’s members, but is quickly assured that they bear her no ill intentions. In fact, quite the opposite - they are quite taken with their little discovery. One factor from canon remains intact: when Haruhi is first found, she’s mistaken as a boy. The truth is quickly clarified, but her ability to pass as a boy sparks an idea... Kyoya, the vice-president of the club, offers Haruhi a deal: Haruhi will join the club as a host in exchange for food, comfortable living accommodations, and basic assurances of safety. Put simply: she will not have to “borrow” because they’ll make sure her needs are met.
“How the heck is Haruhi gonna stay a secret from the world at large?” Well, for the sake of self-indulgence, this AU operates on the logic of “what happens in Host Club stays in Host Club” where Haruhi is concerned. All of the guests understand this and treat it with the highest regard (OR ELSE)
CHARACTER BIOS
Haruhi: Self-sufficient, physically sturdy, and extremely practical. To that end, she has very little regard for gender norms, cutting her hair short so she doesn’t have to manage it and wearing whatever is most functional for borrowing.
As a host, she can often set hearts aflutter without even trying due to her size. Though she doesn’t easily welcome physical contact at first, she does eventually build enough rapport that she will step into the hands of certain people. Tamaki: He is high-strung on matters concerning Haruhi to the point of annoyance; she often accuses him of treating her like a porcelain doll. Kyoya: He recognizes how the novelty of her being small could appeal to girls and is the one to suggest she work for the host club. Kyoya is very stern about keeping Haruhi safe and comfortable, both for her value to the club and a strong sense of obligation to uphold their agreement. Hani-Senpai: Honey’s childlike innocence helps to put Haruhi at ease shortly after they get acquainted; it also helps that he frequently shares his sweets with her, since Haruhi’s first and truest love is food. He is general very sweet and polite, though he can get a little overexcited. Mori: His quiet, imposing demeanor intimidates Haruhi at first. But seeing the way he interacts with Honey-senpai, she quickly realizes that Mori is a gentle giant. If Haruhi needs to be carried or given a lift, Mori is the one she prefers to rely on. He is gentle without being overly fussy (unlike Tamaki). Hikaru and Kaoru: These two love toy with Haruhi a lot in canon. How do you think that goes in an AU where she’s toy-sized? Haruhi’s safety may be a top priority for the Host Club, but the twins still like to have their fun. Though they are mindful of Haruhi’s boundaries, they often make a point of testing what those boundaries are. Ryouji “Ranka” Fujioka Though I haven’t thought all of them out fully, there are differences between this AU and the canonical version of this character. -Not related to Haruhi -Still a cross-dresser or potentially identifying as transgender. (The weirded-out attitudes from the canon characters would be dialed back or removed entirely in any potential stories). -Comes into contact with the Host Club through different circumstances. (Perhaps connected to Haruhi’s lack of gendered thinking.) Renge Houshakuji Once again rising to a management role within the Host Club, cue the appropriate amount of gushing when she learns about Haruhi. Once it comes to light that Haruhi is a girl (despite Haruhi’s gender-neutral sentiments and practical outlook), Renge pushes for her to be given a more varied wardrobe. Sho and Ari A young couple contracted to build a functional dollhouse for Haruhi to live in. Their names are a nod to Sho and Arrietty from the film Arrietty. Gojo and Kitagawa (from My Dress-Up Darling) They are hired to make clothes for Haruhi. Kitigawa measures Haruhi and serves as a style guide, Gojo handles all of the actual crafting.

late bloomer, ch 9
You feel like you’ve just been electrocuted. Looking at him, you meet a gaze that is more personal than you’d anticipated. “What—I—sorry, what?”
He swallows, puts the glass back down. “You do have feelings for her, right?” His tone is completely casual, as though he didn’t just read you for filth in less than five words. “I’m impressed you’ve managed to make it work as roommates in spite of that. You dated, what, in high school? Or—”
“No, we never dated. I mean, she was my first kiss, but, like…not in a serious way. Just like. Sometimes you practice kissing with a friend, you know?” You can feel yourself babbling, but you have no idea how to make it stop. “And I don’t—there’s no in spite of, because there’s no…”
“So you’ve never talked about it, then.”
You shake your head. ”Nothing to talk about.”
“I think we both know that’s not true. Anyone in the same room as you two for more than five minutes would be able to—”
“Okay, okay!” Your cheeks are warm and the room feels somehow even smaller than before, and he won’t stop looking at you with those damn eyes. “Enough about me—how about you and Tamaki? What’s the story there? You meet at Ouran, or what?”
He purses his lips, clearly weighing whether or not to give up his line of questioning. You bite the inside of your cheek. “Junior high,” he finally says, and you sigh, relieved. “He was a new student. My father wanted to get to know his father, and asked me to show Tamaki around.”
“Similar circumstances to Olivia?”
“Only this time, it stuck.” He chuckles. “I got stuck. With him. Every class, every lunch period; every day after school.”
The idea of it brings a smile to your face: tiny, stoic Kyoya being trailed around all day by tiny, histrionic Tamaki. “Talk about opposites attracting.”
“That’s magnets. Tamara’s more like superglue.” That gets a full snort out of you. “You’ve met him. He’s…bubbly. And persistent. Once he’s decided he’s fond of someone, he clings to them for life.”
“So I’ve heard,” you murmur, remembering what the twins said the other day.
“Well.” He shrugs. “I just happened to be exceptionally lucky that he decided he was fond of me.”
Something changes with this last sentence; something about his voice, his expression, is overall demeanor. A softness that you haven’t yet seen in him.
But a softness you recognize nonetheless.
“Oh.” You clap a hand over your mouth, and fully stand up. “Oh. My. God.”
“What?”
“You. You’ve got it bad.”
“I—”
“I’ve seen that look. I invented that look. You love him, don’t you?”
He scoffs, not quite convincingly. “Everyone loves Tamaki.”
“Not romantically. But you do. Oh my God! No wonder why you looked like you couldn’t wait to get away from Olivia at that party.”
No mistaking it now; he is one hundred percent, unmistakably blushing. “I think you were too drunk that night to remember much of anything.”
You shake your head, delighted. “Not this. I remember this, crystal clear. What is she, like, a beard? But Tamara’s an omega, so that shouldn’t matter—”
“Olivia isn’t my beard,” he says sharply. You shut up immediately. Clearly you’ve struck a sore spot. He takes a deep breath, and continues. “I have nothing to hide, thank you. Yes. Yes, Tamaki and I have had a long friendship, and there were points where I maybe wanted something more, but…”
He doesn’t finish the thought. “But?” you prompt him.
A long moment passes. “I waited too long.” He smiles. Fully this time. It’s the saddest smile you’ve ever seen. “Just like you.”
That hangs heavy in the air. Mostly because you don’t want to agree with him, but you also can’t protest.
Although— “I mean. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. It’s been a couple of weeks; they’re hardly getting married.”
“You don’t hear the way he talks about her,” he says glumly. “I mean, I’ve seen Tamaki through dozens of relationships, long and short. He always falls head over heels. But there’s something different about this. She…grounds him. They’re incredibly balanced.”
“I know what you mean.” And you do. You’ve seen Haruhi off on every date she’s gone on since middle school; you can’t recall ever seeing her smile the way she does now.
Except in pictures, maybe.
From before her mom died.
“It’s just…fuck.” You shake your head. “Fuck.”
“Pretty much.”
You purse your lips. “Do you drink?”
He gives you an odd look. “You really don’t remember anything about that night? Friday, a few weeks back?”
“I remember exactly as much as I’d like to, which is pretty much nothing.”
“Except that you thought I was…dating Olivia to conceal some hypothetical feelings for Tamaki.”
“I never claimed to be right one hundred percent of the time.” You pull out some wine from the cabinet. “Fair warning, this is probably going to wreck your rich-boy tastebuds. But it’s great for taking the edge off of heartbreak.”
“Heartbreak feels a touch overdramatic.” You turn to him with the bottle in one hand and two glasses in the other, your expression a question. He signs. “I’ll take an extra heavy pour.”
“Greedy.” You give him his extra heavy pour, and a slightly less heavy pour for yourself. You clink glasses.
*********************
“M’dad.” All of the earlier decorum is gone; Kyoya is all but sprawled across the bed. “He doesn’t approve of Tamaki’s pearntige. Parentage. Pa-ren-tage.”
“What?” You sit up, knocking the second empty wine bottle onto the floor. When did you move to your bedroom, again? “You’re both fancy-schmancy prep school kids. What’s to disapprove of?”
“Tamaki’s mom wasn’t married to his dad. “Probably they’d’ve gotten rid of the baby, but his wife-wife couldn’t have kids of their own, so they figured might as well…” He waves his hand. “Might as well…”
“Oh.”
“Yeah. Oh. And my dad doesn’t want those genes in his grandchildren.”
“Aren’t you the second kid, though? Doesn’t that matter?” He looks at you quizzically. “Sorry. I hate-Googled you yesterday. After I finished hate-Googling Tamaki. There’s nothing bad about that asshole anywhere.”
“It’s ridiculous,” he agrees. “He’s ridiculous. Yes, I’m the spare, not the heir. But I’m still part of the family. It’s part of, um…part of being born into the dynasty.”
“So you find someone you like, they’re in the right social circles, they follow arbi…arbital…arbitrary presentation-based mating traditions from, like, the fifth century or whatever, and he decides it’s a no-go just because Tamaki’s dad decided to cheat?” He nods. You let out a long breath, slumping back down on the bed. “What the fuck.”
“I mean, we could’ve dated. Probably. But it would’ve ended when I had to get engaged.”
You shake your head. “Backwards.”
“Yeah.”
“Yeah.”
“Wouldn’t it be worth it? Still? Better to have loved and lost, something something…”
”Maybe. But I doubt he was ever even interested.”
”You never tried, though.”
He shrugs. “Too late now.”
“So. Okay. Do you just…not date, then?”
“I date.” He shrugs. “Not seriously. Not too casually, either—you have to be careful who you fuck at Ouran, because everyone’s hungry for money and everyone’s eager to kiss and tell. But I have friends.”
You laugh. “Friends.”
“Friends help each other out with cycles, sometimes,” he insists. “It’s normal. And better than most alternatives.”
“Well.” You let your head loll back. “I wouldn’t know anything about that. Obviously.”
“Do you ever feel like you’re missing out on something?”
“Yeah.” It slips out before you can think twice.
“Really?
He sounds…almost surprised.
“I mean, not always.” You’re not sure why you’re being so honest. You’ve never even told Haruhi this before. “Not even most of the time. But I’ve wondered.” You look at him. That piercing gaze, back on you again. Even drunk, you’re bewildered by how deep his eyes seem to cut you, and you turn away, suddenly embarrassed. “Don’t tell anyone.”
“Such a shame. Olivia would have a field day with that one.”
You giggle. He joins in, and you realize that, whether you want to or not…you like Kyoya Ootori. You like being around him.
You want to be his friend, even.
“You’ve got to stop leading her on,” you tell him between fits of laughter. “At the very least, for fuck’s sake, argue with me a little less in class? Every time you acknowledge my existence, she gives me this look like…I don’t know. Like she wants to burn a hole in my skull.”
“She does not.”
“She does! I swear. I don’t care if you use a fake girlfriend to make Tamaki jealous.”
“It’s not—”
“I know, I know,” you cut him off with a hand on his arm. At least, you aim for his arm, but somehow miss and hit his face instead. You pull your hand away like he’s a hot stovetop. “Sorry.”
“I was going to say, I’m not trying to lead her on. Jus’ got to tolerate her for business’ sake.” He sighs. “At this point, I could use a fake girlfriend to get her off my back.”
“And make Tamaki jealous.”
To your surprise, he doesn’t protest immediately. Instead, he shrugs. “It wouldn’t hurt. Has that ever worked for you and Haruhi?”
“As if. I haven’t dated anyone seriously since…god, since undergrad at least. So who knows?”
“Well. You give it a try, and if it works you let me know.”
You settle into a comfortable silence. You know he’s joking, but some gear has been set off deep in the drunken recesses of your brain. “We should date.”
He stiffens next to you. “What?”
"To make ‘em jealous." You roll over on your side, propping yourself up on one elbow. “Two birds, one stone. I’m a genius.”
You weren't prepared to have your face this close to his. He isn't wearing his glasses. Pale skin; dark brows, finely arched. The wrought-iron line of his lips. Your pulse quickens. His eyes flicker down and up, taking stock of your expression, and he opens his mouth. For a second, you think he might be considering it.
But then he laughs. “You’re wasted.”
“Yes, and I’m a genius.”
He shakes his head, pressing his hands to his eyes. “I’m going to get you some water.” He stands up, and heads for the kitchen. You fall back on the bed, giggling uncontrollably at your own stupid idea. Thank God he didn’t take it seriously.
You roll over, burying your face in the pillow and inhaling deeply. Fuck, you can’t remember the last time something smelled this good. Maybe Haruhi bought a different detergent. You’ll have to ask her in the morning. Whatever it is, you feel warmer and fuzzier and sleepier than ever. You’re dimly aware of Kyoya moving around in the kitchen. It’s a comforting soundscape. Footsteps. Cabinets opening and shutting. Water running from the tap.
By the time the water turns off, and the footsteps start back down the hall, you’re already drifting off to sleep.

What/who is this other F/O you might create, if I may ask?
I imagine him as kind of being a mix between Mordecai and Kyoya from Ouran. I tried to make a Lacka Host Club AU, but it just wasn't really doing it for me. More of, Mordecai ended up out of character due to Kyoya's influence and turned into his own character.
He's overall more flirtatious, openly gay (and I am tempted to make his color palette, specifically his outfit, ace colored), has the unholy ability to show up whenever someone calls him, particularly when they call "mom" because he is the mom of the club (but he's really just good at foreshadowing the mischief of the others and following them), my S/I would be the dad and he'd tease them over it endlessly, not the most emotive but still kind in the way he behaves, and definitely not cis lol.
So I imagined a college host club, with the primary love interest being the manager type (idk if he is actually, he just has those vibes). Since it's a college club, I'd love to explore some themes of sexuality, more of, how asexuals (my S/I would definitely be ne) are often made to feel in a society that is so that attraction focused.
That's kind of all I know so far, but, I'm excited for it!
Thanks for asking, deer!

BNHA x OHSHC crossover
So I've been thinking of a BNHA x Ouran High School Host Club crossover.
Specifically because there's this one BNHA fic that just uses Kyoya Ootori as a character. But it's just Kyoya, none of the other guys appear or are even mentioned. He's a UA management student in the same year as Izuku.
So anyways that got me thinking as to where the rest of the host club would be in a similar crossover.
I'm just going to keep Kyoya in the same year as Izuku, and keep him a management student, because that makes the most sense for him.
I'm sending Tamaki to France though. Yeah, the old Suoh hag that is his dad's mom, died while Tamaki was in middle school in this AU. So she can't stop Tamaki's parents from getting back together, and unbreaking Tamaki's home in the process. So, he's still in the same year as Kyoya, but he goes to school in France, and gets to live happily with his parents.
Tamaki and Kyoya are still close friends, they're just primarily long distance friends, at least until school breaks come around.
Honey and Mori are obviously in the year above Izuku and Kyoya, and also go to UA. They'd be Class 2-B in Izuku's first year, the hero class that didn't get expelled by Aizawa because Aizawa wasn't their teacher.
They're like Iida and Todoroki in that they come from Hero families. Though Mori's family is primarily underground, while Honey's is primarily limelight. They're also 2 of the big 3 of their year when they become third years.
Haruhi, Hikaru, and Kaoru are all going to be support students, the year below Izuku and Kyoya. So they'd be first years when Izuku is a second year. And yes, they're all support students, because I want to keep the three of them all being in the same class.
Haruhi wants to become a support gear specialist like her mom, while Hikaru and Kaoru have support as the family business. Their dad specializes in tech while their mom specializes in costumes.
As for quirks:
Hikaru and Kaoru have the same quirk (a shared quirk), originally thought to be a real version of twin telepathy. As in it was thought that they could only telepathically communicate with each other.
This thought is dispelled when they develop the ability to telepathically communicate with Haruhi half way through the school year. Now their quirk is considered telepathy with people who they have a strong emotional connection with.
Haruhi has a an empathy/intuition quirk, in that she'll often just know how to fix someone's problem, even if she doesn't actually know what the problem is. Which can make her seem either extremely oblivious, or observent in turns.
Kyoya has an intelligence quirk, as all of his family does.
Honey (and his whole family) have a combination strength & durability enhancement, though in Honey and his younger brother this has also come with a side of shorter stature.
Mori's quirk is Dark Corridor, the ability to travel through shadows, while also bringing other people with him.
[Yeah, Mori's is the only quirk I could come up with a cool name for, feel free to suggest names for the others. But most of them are really generic, and most aren't in the hero course either.]

au that lives rent free in my head, i felt inspired to bring it to light since it’s scary season🐺 🎃 slight musings under the cut.
basically this au takes place after x. the most important aspect is that disaster force has Side Effects that can impact the user if they use it for prolonged periods of time. since rouga basically Never turns it off, he suffers a lot from The Effects, making him more monsterish. kyoya also is involved, and he’s kind of in a weird state of being part deity and part human after everything that’s happened. he can’t stay like that, so he seeks out help on how to make things more manageable. rouga tags along because he needs help too but also he doesn’t want to leave kyoya’s side in his time of suffering (because he’s kyoya’s true friend....).
so rouga and kyoya travel around the different worlds and encounter some familiar faces (miserea, variable cord, j genesis) who help with their conditions.
if you’re wondering “what’s with the creature and retainer of the demonic dragon, aragami” that’s rouga when things get Real cruddy (tm). things get worse before they get better, unfortunately. kyoya also gets stuck as gaen and has to do all sorts of things in darkness dragon world. rouga basically accompanies him while looking like that.
it’s a neat little au about self discovery and healing, but i probably will never write anything for it. i just have 300 ideas in my head. thank you for reading this if you did... i love you. 🫶

If you're still looking for asks: how about hcs for Kenta and/or Shoyo? 👀
Shoyo travels a little with Kenta in fusion during the time it takes the character to get the 50 000 points. She said “is anyone going to watch over that small child or are we going to let him wander around without supervision?” and so they go on their way.
Kenta is a very good influence on Shoyo who gets some nice character development, being nice and kind isn’t very easy for them because of the way they were raised but it becomes easier over time. And Kenta gets to train with Shoyo who helps him with his techniques and just has a lot of training experience, so they both get a lot out of that time together!! I also just really enjoy thinking about them bonding and not feeling too alone because the other is there.
They grow very close during fusion and then also masters. They don’t have a lot of interests in common tbh, aside from beyblade, and even that, Shoyo doesn’t particularly enjoy it and enjoys it even less after fusion. But they understand and feel a lot of loyalty towards each other.
During masters, Kenta doesn’t get into Gangan Galaxy and can’t go to the world tournament, he has to watch his friends go without him, which sucks. Shoyo didn’t enter the qualifications because their arm got broken at the end of fusion and it’s still in a cast (but also they didn’t want to enter anyway…). So they both kind of stay behind, Benkei leaves eventually to go to Kyoya, Hikaru is here too but she’s pretty busy with her work. Kenta and Shoyo spend some time together still, Kenta puts all his might into his training.
They’re all still shaken by what happened during battle blader and don’t really know how to talk about it or how to deal with their trauma (especially Shoyo and Hikaru) and they also don’t want to bother the others with their problems. Even after Shoyo’s arm heals, they have trouble battling, it seems like she doesn’t give it her all at all. Then some stuff happen, there is a battle between Shoyo and Ryo, she has a hard time during it but eventually something seems to shift and her and Actaeo win. She is still shaken after that battle, it brought back a lot of repressed emotions and Shoyo decides to leave. She wants to get back on the road, and so she goes almost immediately without saying goodbye to anyone.
When Kenta hears about this he goes after Shoyo, hoping they’re not too far from the city yet. All this time he waited to someone to give him the time to stay around and battle him, he watched all of his friends leave to different continents, and now Shoyo just leaves without saying anything??
He manages to catch up to them. Unfortunately Shoyo has gotten over her fears of battling and of fire after beating fireblaze, and they defeat Kenta and Sagittario very quickly. Then she leaves again, saying she needs to be alone.
This is what I have so far for their relationship but AAAA they are so!!! I love them a lot I really like to think about Kenta’s character, who is always feeling left out in one way or another… And I really want for Shoyo and Kenta’s masters arc to end on Shoyo making their disappearance up to Kenta somehow. Like I feel bad that they let him down too in a way, but yeah they have stuff to sort out (do they actually sort them out in masters?? not really oops)
Anyway sorry that these are just plot ideas I have for my au and not really hcs?? A lot of these are also very vague I hope that’s okay too :’)

Knight & Day: MoriHaru
Please I had so much fun with this one T_T Haruhi and Kyoya's friendship is so pure. I love them T_T also, they make fun of Tamaki.
-
Summary: When Sir Takashi goes off to war, Princess Haruhi must wrestle with her feelings and the fate of her kingdom.
-
Takashi Morinozuka x Haruhi Fujioka; Kyoya Ootori x Renge Houshakuji
Genre: Fantasy AU, fluff, angst
Warnings: None
-
Normally, running her fingers over the velvet strips in her dress calmed her. She was a very physical person, often anchoring herself through touch whenever the world got too heavy--whenever the pressures of being a royal bore too heavily on her shoulders, or her father was too much. Being a Princess required so much energy that she often couldn’t give, not without something or someone to ground her.
And now, she watched that someone march off into battle.
The wind was harsh as it wove through the castle parapets. She stood like stone, tears frozen in her eyes, fingers abnormally still. The velvet strips wound up her arms, ready to be stroked while pondering, but the only comfort she wanted had just swung onto a horse and left her.
The sky loomed dark. The clouds jumbled together like mismatched puzzle pieces, like even the Heavens couldn’t place why the lovers were being separated. Dark gray and blue and black and white. Shattered, cut lines.
The Princess smiled, shook her head to no one. She missed him already, her favorite knight, the captain of the guard. She knew it was his duty to one day die for her, as his family had done for the kings and queens of the ages, but she prayed that morning and every other that he would return to her arms safe and sound. If her tears were collected, they would rival the moat surrounding the castle; if her prayers were songs, she would be singing for eternity.
“Your Majesty.”
Haruhi turned into the wind, meeting eyes with her advisor. He was cloaked, the stiff gray fabric protecting him from the rain. It made her realize only then it was raining, and she was soaked.
Some Princess she was, dripping wet, indignantly crying in the rain over a simple knight.
When had she started crying?
“Kyoya, what is it?” she asked, running the back of her hand across her cheeks. It made little difference in the rain, only smearing the paste and lining her chambermaids had applied. The only one she cared to see it was trudging off to the mountains.
Her advisor stepped forward and extended his arm, revealing a deep purple cloak. “Please come inside. It is cold and wet; you will catch your death out here.”
She sighed and turned back around. Leaning against the parapet walls, fingers scrunched into the slimy stone, she bent to spot the caravan of soldiers still parading without decorum. It was a wretched decision to send them off in the rain. Mud had surely already stained their uniforms, and their armor would rust. But her father the King would hear no different; when the Queen of Lobelia made such a vile comment concerning the Crown Princess, Ryoji would not wait till morning to send his army off in contempt.
“Just a few more minutes,” she replied. “Just until they’re out of sight.”
Kyoya heaved an anxious breath, but he waited. He teetered on his feet. She had not changed much since childhood, headstrong and stubborn, but also intensely brave and compassionate. When he knew her then, he thought her petulant; now he knew her to be thoughtful. Sensitivity was a bad quality in a future Queen, but she wore it as well as the tiara atop her curls.
“My lady, the parapet is high and the land is flat,” he said. “They will not be out of sight for hours still.”
Haruhi sneezed, and he chuckled. Normally he would never dare, but they had grown up together, and he had seen her in much worse condition than this. She shot him a glare, but it was dampened by the softness in the edges of her eyes.
She motioned him closer, and, as cold as he was, he obeyed. “I feel that if I were to take my eyes from him,” she said, “I would be abandoning him.”
Kyoya nodded, perceiving the deep grief in her words. “And no Princess would abandon her knights.”
“Certainly not.”
“But you don’t care about the rest of them.”
She whirled around, ready to reprimand him for his audacity, but stopped short at his raised eyebrows. He had always toed the line of insubordination with her, but she felt herself grateful for it. It kept her head from getting too big for the crown.
“Of course I do Kyoya, what an insensitive thing to say,” she murmured anyways. She turned back to the wall and bent, supporting herself on her forearms. Her eyes searched the disappearing party until they landed on the tall captain in the front, rocking in his saddle atop his black stallion. The rain pelted his armor, but he sat up rigidly, setting the example for his men. The entire kingdom rode on his shoulders, and he carried it magnificently.
Kyoya looked at her for a moment, deeply, before following her gaze to the head knight. As far away as they were, he noticed the man’s commanding presence. It seemed to radiate off him in waves, a shield against the rain.
He looked so natural with a sword and horse, rocking in his saddle like it was a cradle. To him, it was; he was a Morinozuka, and they were a warrior breed.
“But none of them make you feel the way Sir Takashi does,” he whispered. “None of them make your heart stir in your chest, or fill your head with honey, or make your eyes glassy with just a glance and a smile.”
“How do you--”
“You aren’t subtle,” he responded, adding a last minute, “Your Majesty.”
Haruhi pursed her lips. It wasn’t becoming of a Princess to pout, but alone with Kyoya, she felt no need to keep up appearances. Out here on this parapet, in the rain, with her heart riding west, she could take off the tiara and he could drop the titles. Out here, they were friends.
Her mind flashed back to Sir Takashi. Their little rendez-vous around the castle, how he left her breathless in the morning gardens, how the sun tanned his calloused skin as he worked in the training yard. The way he tasted of cranberries and buttered bread, so simple, yet so divine. Their visits were always innocent; never moving beyond gentle kisses and longing touches against waists and cheeks. Though she craved the young captain, wanted him so deliriously, it was he who asked for her patience--she was the Princess of this land, and he was but a knight unworthy of sullying her skin. Her heart burned with the thought of his gray eyes soaking into hers in the dusty, mid-afternoon light of the library, the moment she realized she loved him, the moment that he said it back.
She gasped. “Does my father know of this?”
“No, Princess,” Kyoya soothed. “He knows only of Sir Takashi’s great devotion to you and this kingdom. As a good knight should.”
Haruhi nodded. The King was a good ruler, but in matters of his own family, he was quite clueless. Truly, since the Queen died, Haruhi had been running half the castle by herself. It left little time for connection or romance, but somehow the knight had managed to snatch her heart for himself.
The anguish of absence was great. When he was told of this mission the night prior, Takashi had snuck to their secret spot in the northern gardens, sending word for her to meet him. There, they wept beneath the gardenias, enraptured in the other’s arms, their only solace the same thing breaking their hearts in two. Takashi, with a kiss to both cheeks, had insisted that he would die to protect her honor from the vicious Queen Benio, while Haruhi whispered against his chest that she didn’t care about flimsy words, as long as he came back to her. He swore against the stars and the moon that he would, sealing his vow with a kiss.
He only asked for a token of her affection, one small reminder of what he was fighting for, and she withdrew her handkerchief from her gown and pressed it to his hands. That night, after he escorted her back to her quarters, he laid in bed and inhaled the cherry blossom perfume until it lulled him to sleep, wondering what it would be like to hold the beautiful Princess as they rested, instead.
Just then, Takashi turned from the front of the pack. His handsome head twisted back to look at the castle, and though he was too far away to pinpoint his gaze, Haruhi knew he was staring at her. He dug something from beneath his shirt and lifted it to his lips--he pressed a kiss to the ring she had given him, hung by a chain around his neck, before riding onward.
She felt that very kiss against her own lips as they parted and gasped. She weakly waved in response.
Her sullen worries must have manifested on her face, because Kyoya cleared his throat. “You needn’t worry,” he nudged. “He is of Morinozuka blood. He will return victorious.”
Haruhi nodded, but it offered little comfort. The Morinozuka family had served the kingdom for centuries, dying for causes even less petty than this. They were a warrior breed, trained from birth in war tactics and strategies, how to kill and be quick about it. She knew not all the works his hands had wrought, and he had no mind to ever tell her, but even as great of a soldier as he was, he would never become king. He was destined to serve, to protect, to die. That was the Morinozuka way.
“And yet I pray for him,” she admitted. Kyoya’s eyes were gentle on her, compassionate, understanding. “I meet with Umehito in the chapel every morning and I pray for him.”
Her tears fell faster, and Kyoya moved forward, spreading the spare cloak against her shoulders. She curled into the warmth, only realizing now she was utterly soaked.
Her voice shook the castle. “What if it doesn’t matter?”
Kyoya gently hugged her, and she found comfort in the familiarity of a friend. Fear coursed through him--he could have his hands chopped off for touching the Princess--but he was her personal advisor, not to mention her best friend since childhood, there to help her on issues large and small.
“Shhh, Your Majesty,” he cooed, “the gods listen to the prayers of a sincere heart. He will return safely, if not by his own volition, then by Heaven’s intervention.”
His wisdom and reassurance filled her heart, corking the hole from where her sadness leaked. Their priest, Umheito, had said the same, but it sounded more comforting from the lips of a friend. Against his chest, she watched the caravan curve behind a hill, her beloved at last out of sight. She let out another choked cry, and Kyoya clutched her tighter, swallowing.
“I love him,” she whispered, and Kyoya hummed. His hands stopped soothing her back, and she leaned away. “I love him, and--well, I suppose it is hardly subtle. You are right, again.”
“I usually am,” he replied with a smirk.
“But you have no room to talk about subtlety, with the way you’ve been spending time with my maid.”
Kyoya narrowed his eyes. Haruhi was sure he would have blushed crimson, but he pulled his cloak further over his head, cutting off his face, and turned away. “It seems it has less to do with me being subtle and more to do with Renge not keeping her mouth shut.”
Haruhi laughed, and something in Kyoya’s brain lit up. Her mind was distracted; she no longer cried. He had done his job.
“Now, Kyoya, you know you can tell me anything.”
He smirked at the teasing tone, lowering his hood to face her again. “Seems that Renge is doing that already, Princess.”
“What, can I not have a double perception?”
“No.”
He took long strides back to the palace, trusting that she would follow, and she did. Her skirts dipped as she stepped in time with him. “Your Majesty,” he said, clearing his throat, signaling talk of business, “you have matters to attend to.”
Haruhi was silent, thinking through her day, and then sighed loud enough to spook a pigeon in the rafters. “Oh. Yes. I must finally answer Prince Tamaki. He will not stop harassing our poor mail carriers.”
“It would be best.”
“He is so bothersome,” Haruhi complained. “Fine. I will answer his letter, but then after that clear my schedule. He is so exhausting to deal with, even through paper.” She paused, sucked in her bottom lip between her teeth. “Can Renge do it? She is much better at sweet talk than I am.” She glanced at her blushing adviser. “Clearly.”
Kyoya released a small chuckle, catching half-way in his throat, but out before he could stop it. “She is very talented in that regard,” he said, “but our writing lessons are still progressing. There is more I need to teach her before that.”
“Hmph.”
Kyoya chuckled, opening a door. “What, my lady, do you not fancy your fiance?”
“Alleged fiance,” she hissed. She suddenly missed Takashi’s quiet, stoic, easygoing nature. “He believes us to be betrothed, despite neither myself nor my father--or even his father--giving consent of any nature.”
“Humor him,” Kyoya advised. “France could be a valuable ally if Lobelia retaliated. Soak your letter in perfume, and try not to insult him this time. That should be enough to satiate him.”
They arrived at the Princess’s quarters, and Kyoya bowed to take his leave. Haruhi sighed before opening the door. “Dearest Kyo, where would I be without you?”
He smiled. It was genuine, full of light, bright against his dark cloak. “On the throne, Your Majesty,” he responded, lowering to kiss her hand. “Right where you belong.”

theatre club au time!!! i’m back with the romeo and juliet edition of “eurydicees just write the fucking fic instead of daydreaming about it”
theatre club au hcs are also here: part one and part two!!
disclaimer: there was absolutely no editing nor proofreading here, i’m watching romeo + juliet and haven’t read the real script in years, and i really don’t know what i’m talking about
so. for the fall show, one year, they decide to do romeo and juliet, because obviously, you know?
renge directs, kyoya is her stage manager
hikaru is romeo, haruhi is juliet; tamaki is mercutio, kaoru is benvolio; idk about the rest of the cast, let’s pretend they don’t matter for the sake of this list (filing the rest of the cast list under: problems for when i actually write this stupid fic)
honey is on lighting, mori is on set and stage combat, mei is on props and costumes, kasanoda is on sound
so in the ouran theatre club, there’s not really a big rivalry between techies and actors because there’s only a few of them, so they all switch between roles so often (ex. kaoru is 50% actor and 50% costumes; tamaki is 50% actor, 50% director)
HOWEVER. then, right before the fall production of r&j, hikaru says some dumbass comment about actors having more work to do than techies, and being more important, etc. etc. some bullshit like that
and this causes a HUGE rift in between the techies and the actors for this show specifically— they’re all mad at each other bc of this comment; kaoru is pissed at his brother, kyoya thinks that tamaki endorsed said comment, hikaru isn’t sure why he said it in the first place, haruhi thinks this is all ridiculous but kaoru is being an asshole about it and so they’re mad at him; etc. etc.
so this show is uh. not coming together very well, because no half wants to work with the other half, and none of them are talking to each other
then. THEN. THEN. THEN.
tamaki and kyoya fall in love.
they start a secret affair together, telling no one, because they know that everyone in the club is mad at everyone else, and saying that they’re dating is just gonna add fuel to the fire, especially bc it’s an actor/sm relationship, which is a bit weird (it’s high school, though, so whatever. once this all blows over, they’ll be a #powercouple)
things come to a head during one rehearsal, where they’re doing mercutio’s death scene
so tamaki is acting. he’s going all out. like. he’s giving this speech as if it’s the last performance he’ll ever give. it’s brilliant. beautiful. stan.
and when he’s done, mei makes some comment about it “needing lights to make it look any good,” as if he can’t make it good on his own, and tamaki is so hurt by this. like. so hurt.
renge calls for the end of rehearsal, bc hikaru is abt to like. go to war in defense of tamaki’s acting, and kaoru is just mad at hikaru, so he’s also ready to argue (bc they’re at a good enough place in their relationship to do that!!!)
kyoya, in an attempt to cheer him up, brings tamaki out for dinner, but they have to be discreet, so they go to some commoner place. this is where all the pining Hits. then they finally, finally, actually start dating.
as we go through the rehearsal and production meeting process, the scenes that they rehearse are interspersed with fluffy scenes of tamakyo falling in love, idk how all that would get worked in right, but it would make it in there because fuck it, yk?
the rivalry was kind of simmering for a while, but then they doing their stop and go rehearsal, which is always an rip, but here it’s the first time in a hot sec that the entire production team and the actors are in the same room
the actors keep goofing off and moving around, so honey can’t get things quite where he needs them; the actors are talking loudly, so kasanoda is fucked (but too shy to say something abt it, until mori tells honey, who tells renge, who stands up for them all)
and a (verbal) fight breaks out— kyoya, the eversuffering sm is losing his mind over here.
he is done with this shit
so he calls hold, and renge gives a speech about cooperation, and then everyone kind of shuts down. no on is having fun with being in theatre anymore. kasanoda is two insults away from quitting. mei is two broken seams away from physically fighting someone.
things are not going well
after rehearsal, tamaki and kyoya have their standing secret date night at some commoner’s place, idk where yet, we’ll figure that out when this actually gets written as a fic, and then. that’s when they get caught.
it’s renge who finds them— and she’s angry. she goes on this whole rant about professionalism. the stage manager cannot be dating an actor. it’s a conflict of interest. it’s unprofessional. it’s scandalous. she will not have it in her theatre.
then tamaki points out. that she is here on a date with haruhi.
fuckin’ hypocrite.
the four of them have a cute double date bc fuck it. i make the rules now. and they realize that this is bullshit and they’re never going to pull together a show if they keep on arguing like this
but they don’t really know how to fix it????
it eventually kind resolves itself when renge, who cannot keep a secret for the life of her, accidentally reveals that she and haruhi are dating— they’re in the dressing room, and renge just kisses them, not realizing that kaoru and mei are arguing over kaoru’s costume in there
everyone is very upset for a moment, until they crack because kaoru and mei are both kinda hopeless romantics, and a star-crossed love is exactly what they needed to make the show come together
meanwhile, tamaki and hikaru are practicing mercutio’s queen mab monologue (for the #drama of the moment), and kyoya is taking notes or w/e, and when they pause, hikaru asks abt tamaki’s inspiration for his acting and what feelings he’s drawing on
and tamaki is just like *looks at kyoya* “i have my own love”
i’m gonna be honest i super worked myself into a hole here and i have absolutely no idea how to end this
unlike shakespeare, i cannot kill off all the characters in order to have a resolution to my work
taking suggestions for an ending i guess. anything would be better than whatever this mess is rn
