While the title may be at first misleading (in the sense that the images here contain no conventionally sexual erotica), Moriyama's signature work is nonetheless maximally imbued with sensuality--for the contemporary, global, urban landscape and the dizzying way we experience it through his lens.

Page after unrelenting page, Daido's images transport us across space and time, from Asian megalopolises to those in the Americas and Europe, from the literal gutter to 40,000 feet, and through five decades of history. Like the best erotica, one doesn't merely look at Moriyama's imagery; rather, one feels it in a deliciously vertiginous way.
