Also ALSO in DBK when Pete literally has a panic attack (that’s what his shut down is) at dinner with his dad and his dad’s friends when they start talking about his future and how Kao notices and grabs his hand and Pete is like????? mortifying ordeal of being known????? because he thinks Kao would never care about him enough let alone pay attention enough to know he’s going through it..... i......

hiii nonnie!! oh man... he 100% did. pete just... fundamentally believes he is worth almost nothing, and that he’s not good at anything. the one thing he holds on to at the beginning of dbk is kao... and we see how over the series, he learns to let go and be proud of himself and attain certain things by himself. we see him branching out and unfurling and blooming! and by the end of dbk, he wants kao, but he finds worth in himself, too. it’s a non-linear and long process, but i’m proud of my boy for taking that journey.
