Jamal: Score, Brittany left me a love letter! I knew she was in to me. 

Jamal: “To Freyja, Love Jonah”? Pfft. Oh, here’s another one. “To Freyja with love...” 

Marylena: Good morning! 

Jamal: Hi. Ooh, there’s another one! 

Marylena: Hmph. I guess you’re not going to invite me in, then. Invite me into the dorm that you kicked me out of... *grumble grumble grumble* 

 Jamal: “To the queen of my heart...Freyja.” These are not getting any better. Where is my letter?! 

Jamal: Marylena, is this some kind of secret society prank?!? 

I can’t remember what I did to fix it (probably forced an error and reset Jamal or the mailbox), but poor Jamal was stuck at that mailbox for hours. And yes, not a single letter was for him. :P 

I think it’s safe to say he’s dedicated to this relationship.

Frank: So your mum just gave this to you? 

Charlie: Yeah, she slipped the deed into my pocket at grad, along with a note that it’s for me to do whatever I want with it. 

Frank: Rad. You know the best part? It’s right next to my studio! Talk about convenient carpooling! 

Charlie: I guess. I don’t know what I’m going to do with a big empty building, though. Real estate isn’t exactly in high demand in these parts, so it’s not a great investment... 

Frank: If you want to turn it into a business, I’ll definitely help out. I’m no expert, but I do have a bit of experience...if it’s helpful. Wanna check upstairs? 

Charlie: Not much here except a whole bunch of boxes. 

Frank: Anything cool in them? 

Charlie: Depends. How cool would you rate hundreds of old records?

Party time! Charlie invites all her friends and family (except for her loser father of course), which means most of the guests are not students. But at least Komei is there to offer Charlie some solidarity with the silly hats. :) 

Speaking of Komei... 

...Charlie and her mother are just about to have a moment when he goes and interrupts by smooching with Christy. I turned that special events camera on for Charlie’s grad, not for you, Komei. >:(

Frank: Charlie! Freyja told me you graduated--and with highest honours! Congratulations! I’m really sorry, but the renos have been delayed on the club downstairs... I’m hoping to have it finished really soon. Sorry to keep you waiting on this job... 

Charlie: No, it’s cool. I’m actually here to ask you about accommodations... See, I was supposed to move in with a friend of mine, but she backed out at the last minute. I can’t afford a place on my own, so I’m wondering if you knew of anyone who’s looking for a roommate. Or if you can suggest any good place to post an ad... Like, I don’t want to live anywhere sketchy, you know? 

Frank: Wow, funny you mention it... Actually, it might not be the best idea... But my brother’s a lawyer, so he could draw up a contract to keep things professional...

Charlie: Frank, what are you talking about? 

Frank: Well, um, I do know someone looking for a new roommate... 

Charlie: Yeah? Great! Who is it? 

Frank: ...Me. See, my old roommate just moved out. He’s...changed a lot, so it was like living with a totally different person. I’m glad he wanted to move to the big city, to be honest. Anyway, I know it’s not exactly proper to be living with your boss, but like I said, my brother could help--and you could change the terms however you want and...well, I totally understand if you don’t want to. 

Charlie: Don’t want to? It sounds perfect! I know you’d give me a fair deal on the rent, and we could carpool to work, and you don’t care if I have people over, right? 

Frank: Of course not. 

Charlie: Brilliant! We’re going to be the best roomies ever!

Frank: So...what do you think? 

Charlie: Well I wasn’t expecting anything glamourous. And you delivered on that expectation. 

I mentioned before that I had moved Frank out briefly to fix a mismatched ceiling tile in the lobby. Moving him back in brought new neighbours from the upper classes, which goes to show what a difference a ceiling tile can make. 

And just in case you thought I was exaggerating about Charlie’s aggressive Fortune secondary: 

Charlie: Hello world, I have a degree and I’m ready to start making the big bucks now!

Dorm life without Charlie is fairly quiet, but with the semester wrapping up, there isn’t much to do beyond getting those grades up and working on the fun meter in between studying. Yes, in Freyja’s case, cleaning the toilet counts as fun. *eyeroll*

Allegra: Sorry dear, I couldn’t hear you above the first kiss theme song. What did you say? 

Charlie: I said I’m sorry I was such a prat about you and Dad. I got some good advice from a friend recently and it made me realize that it isn’t up to me if you want to get back together with Dad, or move on with someone else, or even be that crazy old lady with 50 cats. 

Allegra: Charlie, you really have grown up. I’m so proud of you. Though, one cat is plenty for me right now. 

Charlie: Love you, Mum. Also, I called Dad recently, and he’s an even bigger deadbeat than ever, so I’m glad you ignored my stupid idea about getting back with him. 

Allegra: Ha, there’s the little rebel I know so well. Here, check your pockets after all this. No, not now; wait until you’re in the taxi. I’m only telling you now so you don’t send it to drycleaning with this robe after the party.

Yeah Jamal’s been seeing Brittany, but it’s not as though they’re exclusive. And although I like Brittany, Jan’s cool too. Nothing’s set in stone yet.

Seeing as she’d come all this way to visit Frank, Charlie figured she might as well try out a dancing lesson as well. I mean, she was there anyway. :)

All right, the beach was a bust, but the newly rebuilt Lucky Shack has lots of fun stuff to do, right Jamal?

Sorry Goopy, an outing with Brittany sounds more interesting than hanging out with you. :/ At least Sandy’s here to keep you company!

Jamal: This party is big enough to get lost in. What do you think about starting something more intimate?
