I have cryptid coffeehouse brainrot (despite not having finished the game)

So here are what I think the cuties favorite slimes in slime rancher would be. (As well as pictures of them below)

(MILD SPOILERS FOR SLIME RANCHER 1-2)

Artemis-

Lilly pad slimes. I think that Artemis would think the fact the puddle slimes blush is super cute and would audibly say "holy shit" when they find out their toy of choice is the rubber duck. I also think that Artemis is the kind of person that, if they like a game and it has a DLC they will 100% buy it. So they would buy the secret style DLC and would go insane when they find out that you could turn the puddle slimes into Lilly pad slimes they would go insane over it

Kurou-

Kurou would NOT play slime rancher unless he had a crush on you and you begged him to. That being said he would probably favor the tarr slimes because they eat the slimes and he's enough of a menace that he would think that's funny. I think he would have a corral of them if he could and would be annoyed to find out that they dissipate on their own.

Odina-

THIS ONE WAS HARD. I think that she would like the slimes that come out of the party gordo a lot and then be extremely disappointed when you suck them up and they come out without the accessories. Otherwise I think she would like the yolky slimes the most. She would find one in the wild and say "Oh my gods that one looks like an egg" then when she sucks it up and finds out it's called the yolky slime she would gasp so loud.

Kolia-

Again. I don't really think she would play slime rancher unless specifically asked to. I think she would like the fire slimes though. As to why? I don't have a good reason..

artemis would most likely agonize over this all day long. they get in their head about small things like this and it would throw them off as soon as it happens, but you know how they are— they won’t want to make a big thing out of it so they wouldn’t bring it up at all. instead, they’d try to gently coax it out of you by sending some lovey texts throughout the day (showing you things that reminded them of you during their workday, checking in on you during lunch, saying they’re thinking of you, etc), but if they’re honest, it’s more for their own peace of mind rather than actually trying to solve whatever nonissue this happens to be.

kurou, on the other hand, would refuse to leave until you said it.

kurou, standing in the door: bye, i love you, see you later mc: yeah, bye, see you kurou: kurou, still standing there: i SAID… bye, I LOVE YOU, see you later mc: … um… bye? kurou, fully coming back inside the house to tackle you: tell me you love me before i go or you’re not getting out of this headlock im so serious say it now

artemis is a big baby when they're sick. they don't get sick very often, so when they do, it's this whole event. they're like a wet cat lol sooo grumpy and sooo miserable. they'll sniffle around and fall asleep everywhere and be like, "nooo.... get away from me... i'm sick.... i'm going to die... stay away..." mordag often dotes on them to make sure they're getting better hahaha, she's the more caring roommate when it comes to these things. kurou kind of sticks his nose up at them because they act so dramatic when they feel bad LOL

kurou loves to act like he's not sick when he does catch something, and he'll work himself into the worst fever until someone is like DUDE you are so ill GET TO BED NOW!!! the only sickness he'll ever take seriously will be something that involves throwing up... because he finds throwing up to be so humiliating lol. in the back of his mind, though, he knows that he's sick and he subconsciously isolates himself from other people so they don't catch whatever he has, but he never likes to say it out loud. he thinks it makes him look like a pussy lol (it does not)

when their partner is sick, artemis likes to be your little nurse lmfao, always trying to bring you water and tea and medicine and stuff... but they always get themself sick in the process because they can't bear to stay away from you. they pull the "i'm gonna kiss and cuddle you better" card way too often and it always gets them gross afterwards... and they KNOW that... but they don't even care.

kurou never wants to catch whatever his partner has so he acts like he works in a fucking sick ward or something when he comes to take care of you. always standing so far away lmfao and being like "no. go to bed" when you call for him. you do often wake up to nice warm soup and medicine on the nightstand though :-) he's just silly.

I keep seeing videos like this on tiktok and now im curious. How would kurou react to his partner mc referring to him as their husband? Like they're talking to their parent on the phone while Kurou is next to them and they're like:

Mc's parent: so how's kurou doing?

Mc: oh my HUSBAND is doing great-

he would fold omfg he would fold so fucking hard. considering that he probably has wanted to marry you since like month 6 of your relationship (which is an urge he has to try really hard to suppress most of the time), hearing you say that out loud TO ONE OF YOUR PARENTS NO LESS would feel like 47 consecutive gunshots to the chest in the most positive affirming way possible.

he wouldn't say anything about it in the moment, attempting to play it cool in front of you, but as soon as he's alone in his room he's furiously writing a note about it and losing his mind (twitter friends will recall that i said he writes love notes to you that he keeps in a box in his desk, but is way too embarrassed and shy to give them to you). he'd probably also have a frantic text conversation with his sister miroku that looks something like this:

kurou: ttheycaleld me their husabfdn miroku: what? kurou: HUSBAND miroku: i'm not following kurou: im literally going to KILL MYSELF they called me their husband miroku: who are you talking about. is this about your car?

hello kixis enjoyer!!! it’s very cute that we’re starting to lump kixis into the ccquery roster hehehe, i find myself wondering who will be next :3

artemis has never had a possessive partner before and has always been the possessive one, so to have a partner that’s just as possessive as they are would feel so validating, like “fuckkk i’m not crazy for feeling like this all the time, someone else gets it.” it would feel really good to them and would probably make them kind of shy, hahaha. you care about them so much that you get a little annoyed when they talk to a cute stranger for too long? they’d be thrilled by this, actually. it would make them even more dopey in love with you… cute!!!

kurou would be put off by it to a degree, especially because he’s so… not possessive. he barely ever gets jealous and has a pretty lax view of relationships (particularly casual ones— he takes his long-term relationships a lot more seriously, but he’s still never jealous), so to be with someone that’s really possessive would be like… woah… chill out. it would probably make him feel special for at first, then it would get kinda old to him. he wouldn’t really understand why you’d get miffed by things he’s doing or people he’s hanging out with, so there would most likely be some discourse there until the two of you sat down and had a good conversation about it.

i think kixis is solidly in the middle on this one. he does get jealous and possessive sometimes, but he’s often so wrapped up in his head about the people he’s dating that he wouldn’t want to vocalize negative feelings as to not break the fantasy or whatever. dating someone possessive (and vocal about it) might be able to help him talk about his feelings and to realize that it’s okay to feel possessive. but also… he’s a flirty person by nature, so if his partner was so possessive that they found issue with that, it would be awkward since that’s just how he is. that’d be a personal critique rather than a relationship one, and he wouldn’t take it too well, i don’t think.

In the ask about kurou being inlove with mc it was mentioned that he doesn't want to weird them out. Why does he think they'd be weirded out about his feeling for them? Is it because he's been mean to them to hide his feelings?

there are a couple of reasons that he feels this way. the biggest one is that he really doesn't want to be that guy friend who meets someone, is friendly for a while, and then suddenly is like "hey... i need to tell you something..." because that's really icky and awkward. another big reason is that in whatever context you put his feelings into, he's been friends with you for a long time now and his feelings have been slowly developing over that time. he wouldn't want to ruin a good(? lol) friendship by bringing romantic feelings into it... and also like i've said before, he definitely doesn't want to fuck up the friend group. imagine that y'all break up after trying dating out and then the friend group is never the same. that would be lowkey humiliating for him.

but it's because of these reasons that he's mean to you to hide his feelings. it's an elaborate scheme to make sure he doesn't make a fool of himself. besides, he would never make a move unless you gave him some sort of sign that you were into him as well, no matter how hard it is to hold his feelings in.
