what fandoms were you in long before twisted wonderland? I mean like over 10 years ago.
Anon, thank you for this question because it made us sit down and actually look through the albums of my old art and write a list LOL We thought it’d take like 30 minutes tops + 10 minutes to write all of this down, but it took 2+ hours yikes… So sorry, no other replies today :(
And made us realise just how much we revisit certain fandoms 🤦‍♂️ I guess we’re loyal!
Some of them were just very brief phases when we watched/rewatched something, I drew like 5 sketches for this thing and we moved on after about a week. But it was still prominent enough for us to feel like “Oh right, Ryu was drawing (this) back then”. Damn, 2013-2016 were insane, we were jumping around so much… When did these people have time to watch and draw so much shit??
Since this blog is very old, you can find some of my very old shitty fanart for a lot of those here. In all honesty, I really want to draw fanart on some of the more obscure and old ones again… if you have questions about any of this, feel free to ask!

New era
𖤐Hello everyone Kuronians𖤐
Since the 15th anniversary, I have noticed that Yanuzza's style has changed quite markedly. I'm not talking about the drawing style, rather the thinking behind every illustration or project she has done since the anniversary.
The beginning era
From 2008 to 2019, the illustrations in the magazine were beautiful. Just beautiful. They didn't tell a story, and the first ones in particular, were bare, without soul. There were of course some exceptions (also because change doesn't happen overnight) such as the 2012 magazine where we were first introduced to Soma with typical Indian wedding accessories, accessories that we later revisited. I brought this wedding theory to my Italian profile, so if you're interested in reading it, let me know I'll bring it here too!
Tumblr media
The 2013 revue is also very interesting, not only because of the washed-out colours, but also because she starts introducing flowers: ornaments that she will make her own from the 15th.Furthermore, looking at Undertaker's figure, one could say that he tried to give us a hint of a spoiler that year.
Tumblr media
The dark era
In 2014, he experimented with a lot of dark colours, resulting in illustrations with a more serious tone.2014 was a very important year considering that Kuroshitsuji was on the cover of G-fantasy six times!
The change era
I would call 2015 the year of change also because, in this very year, Kuroshitsuji had reached chapter 100 and... who knows, maybe it was just her wanting to change style? In any case, in the June 2015 magazine Yanuzza showed us how ruthless she can be but, cute and refined at the same time. The illustration in question we can say is about addiction to sweets, a food that Ciel often consumes because it happens to contain dopamine, a substance that makes us feel less tired and happier. From 2015 to 2019, he produced illustrations on this current, staying more or less in theme every month.
Tumblr media
The medium era
I would call 2020 the year of the medium, in the sense that in the magazine (hence in the illustration) we find the characteristics of the previous magazines but with a hint of novelty that will carry over to the present day.I don't know if it is a coincidence, but in the illustration we can see Ciel particularly pale, as if dying. Perhaps this was the symbol heralding the drastic change in the series.
Tumblr media
The change era
In 2021, change happens. Not only do we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the series, but the work takes a particularly profound turn, imbued with hidden and often unclear messages. This new vision is not only seen in the illustrations but also in the Black Labels. Before we had simple pop up stores, where the most inventive we had was with the Funtom Hotel (it had nothing to do with the story of the manga) while now with the BR cafe which certainly remains more in the theme, as well as focusing on the Bitter Rabbit (I will bring you an analysis on this later).
The illustrations created by Yanuzza in this period all have a double reading. Magazine of April 2023; where he dedicates a message of love to the magazine, associating their relationship with that of a couple married for thirty years (find the post on page) as if that were not enough, he associated the oyster and the rock with the two protagonists of the series, bringing a very beautiful message indeed.
In the coming days, I will bring you an analysis of the new illustration in G-fantasy magazine and the 15th anniversary illustration. As previously mentioned, these two illustrations will also have a dual reading.
If you are curious to see more of my posts, you can find me on IG as Kuroshitsuji_itaru 😈

Hi there! I recently finished reading the Black Butler manga for the first time and I’m completely blown away!!! One thing I’m curious about and would like to know from a long-time manga reader: When did people start to seriously theorize that Ciel had a brother? I binge read the manga in less than a week and all of the foreshadowing/clues went completely over my head, so I would love to find out what made people start to get suspicious and what kind of theories started to pour in! 👀
Wow, that's a lot of reading in less than a week! I would have missed a bunch of little details, too, if I had tried that! 😯
When did 2CT start?
Well, I didn't join the fandom until sometime in 2015, and some people were already talking about various hints that there was probably a twin brother. @kurotwins and @akumadeenglish who are both not active here anymore (at least not on those blogs) we're talking about it, as well as some others I'm not as sure about. Apparently, the Japanese chunk of the fandom didn't really debate there being a twin; it was sort of accepted very early-on. It might be a matter of translation issues, like "sons" translated to "son", etc.
Anyway, I recall reading a bunch of their posts, and then I started paying more attention to a scene in ch1. Chlaus shows up with the packaging for a game called "Mouse3" by "Ninkyodo". Well, that's a parody of Mother3 by Nintendo, which was released in Japan on April 20, 2006. Unlike the previous two versions of the game, Mother3 never got localized as part of the EarthBound series. Which is why Chlaus tells our earl the "game" was so difficult to find in Italy. Of course, that packaging contains the drug evidence that our earl needed to show Scotland Yard. To put Azzurro Vanel (and potentially the Ferro family) away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The irises are used in both Victorian flower language and Japanese flower language to mean a few different things, but one meaning they share in common is something along the lines of "I have a message for you." Well, that message is the game packaging shown on the very next page.
Mother3 is about mirror twin boys who deal with tragedy soon after their birthday (9th or 10th). Their mother is killed by a monster, and their father is so distraught about her death that he goes into a rage and end up in jail for a while. Soon after the dad gets out of (escapes from) jail, he finds out the older mirror twin had gone off by himself to kill the monster, but now he has gone missing. Everyone is searching, but no body has been found. However, the player of the game can see Claus' broken body at the bottom of a cliff. It's understood that he's dead. The main characters still don't know, though. Not for another three, almost four, years. After losing his wife and being unable to find his older son, the father becomes kind of useless. Notice that the guy in Kuroshitsuji is Chlaus, and the older twin in Mother3 is Claus.
Three years later, Lucas (younger mirror twin) is about 13 years old, and he sets off on his own quest for revenge, along with the loyal family dog, Boney. The rest of the game takes place during this one year, then it ends just before his next birthday. The last thing Lucas has to do before he can "win" is defeat his own older twin brother, who had died, been turned into a Fascinating Chimera, and had been pitted against him.
So, I started coming up with my Mother3 theory for Kuroshitsuji back in December 2015. Back then, I was already theorizing that not only is there a twin brother, but he's a mirror twin. The missing twin is older, dead, reanimated, and will pop up again as an adversary.
Soooo, idk how long some version or other of 2CT has been around, but a very specific version of it came to me (and became very serious to me) in December 2015. And it's canon now: mirror twin brothers; one lives while the other dies; the dead one is reanimated; they end up having to confront each other.
Even Sebastian gets to parallel the roles of both the loyal family dog, Boney (under contract) and the Dark Dragon who must be given your "heart" to follow your will (as the demon who demands a soul as payment).
That's why I'm so into my Mother3 theory, which started out kind of small and grew and grew... because the similarities don't stop there. Not even close. Numerous characters and plot lines have strong parallels to Mother3 characters and plot lines, while a few are better paralleled in Mother and Mother2. The timelines are essentially the same between Kuroshitsuji and Mother3, too.
Maybe check out my "Why I theorize" post and my "Masterpost 1" for more on that, to get more into it. There are several masterposts and addendums, plus a few more masterposts on the way... eventually. When I first started posting about it, I didn't expect it to be such a big finding, but here I am, still talking about it! 😆

I had the autistic impulse to map my fandom timeline instead of doing the dishes, so here is the result.
This is media in which I was actively engaging with fan activity, whether online or in person, for at least a good portion of the year. This doesn’t include everything that I read/watched at any given time. Some of these things I kept up with before/after I got into the fandom. And there’s a lot of things I read/watched/played that I never participated in fandom for.
2001 (aka the year I got unsupervised internet access): Inuyasha, Rurouni Kenshin, HP
2002: Rurouni Kenshin, HP, Tolkien
2003: Rurouni Kenshin, HP, Tolkien, AVP, Linkin Park

About demons and otherworldly...
I rarely talk about films and series that I like. Let's begin!
Part 1. Facts
Title: Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler)
Author: Toboso Yana
Year: 2006 (manga); 2008 (first film adaptation)
Genres: Action, Detective, History, Comedy, Mystery
Part 2. Plot
An alternative England of the 19th century appears before the reader/viewer. The events of the Victorian era shroud in darkness the fate of Ciel Phantomhive, a boy of 12 years old. As befits an earl, Phantomhive has several servants in his service, among which the butler Sebastian Michaelis stands out in a special way. Whatever happens in Phantomhive Manor, the affairs of the young master, or even England, Sebastian is able to handle the impossible. 'Cause he's «just a damn good butler»
Part 3. Let's talk about the abstract or Nonsense by CH
Anime
As far as I remember, this anime was recommended to me as a joke. And this joke is out of control.
I wasn't particularly impressed with the first season, because I felt some kind of understatement. Yes, the story was logically completed, but there were too many white spots. The mystery of the Phantomhive tragedy is a confusing thing and I suspected that the creators did not manage with one season. And so it turned out, I found 2 more seasons and 2 full-length films.
The second season, as it turned out, wasn't based on the manga at all, and as a beginner, it confused me even more. Therefore, for those who are watching for the first time, I advise you to postpone the second season somewhere at the very end (may a ton of slippers from fans of the history of the Trancy house not fly at me)
The third season, called the Book of Circus, is currently my favorite. For the most part, it was filmed exactly according to the original source and therefore retained such a fragile line between comedy and tragedy that haunts the adventures of the young master and his faithful butler throughout absolutely the entire story. I recommend watching it immediately after the first season.
The Book of Murder and The Book of the Atlantic, in my opinion, deserve separate posts, so I will say briefly, they are definitely worth the time spent. And yes, when watching The Book of the Atlantic, don't be surprised by the obviousness of some plot twists that will accidentally spoil it in the first season.
Manga
The first chapters were released in 2006, so this year the work celebrates its seventeenth anniversary. To be honest, I admire the progress of the author and really like to simply look at the pages of history. But we don't forget about the plot either. The original source explains what is happening much faster and more clearly, and the characters themselves look a little more beautiful and livelier, brighter. For the most part, the first time I needed the manga was to put everything that was happening in the anime in my head and understand what was going to follow. Now I started reading it more for the plot.
Part 4
The most profitable (in my opinion) viewing order:
Kuroshitsuji (2008)
Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus (2014)
Kuroshitsuji: Book of Murder (2015)
Kuroshitsuji Movie: Book of the Atlantic (2017)
Additionally:
Kuroshitsuji II (2010)
Kuroshitsuji II The Tale of Will the Shinigami (OVA)
+ several other small stories that are easy to find on the Internet (OVA)
P.S. I am attaching some moments from the manga and the opening of the third season
