Suddenly decided to show some recent photos of my beloved haikyuu boys. This photoshoot was quite challenging though it looks plain.

It’s not the first time we dive into kuroken, but the latest time was a year ago, our skills grew, so Shun (Kuroo) and I decided to remake the shoot (actually if you want to see our first attempt, let me know 👉🏻👈🏻).

The first difficulty we faced was that among all the photo studios in our city there were no sport location. According to my view on the future pictures we had to go with impulse lights (im not sure if thats right definition of the equipment, simply these are lights that switch on only when camera takes a shot). The reason was all about the abilities of my old camera, that was not really good working with natural lights and i wanted to create some kind of evening atmosphere. So we searched and searched until the day we saw a location with some gym equipment on it. That was better than nothing.

But. There was a really big BUT in the studio. We booked an hour and usually that was enough to get everything done. But the stuff did not work properly so we lost time only with waiting for our light (and it was the most standard pack that we asked about).

Then came the second difficulty. I was to pretend training though I’m terrible at sports. I was shaking, my body hurt, sweat was damaging the makeup, and the only thing that saved me was that Kenma was not really much of an athlete.

In the end exhausted as hell we decided to move a little on the location and that was a bright idea. My favorite pictures on the bed resting were shot when i was almost praying for the set to end.

Anyway it turned out great, i tenderly love these photos, but the story behind makes me not want to remake them again.

Photo Dump from Indy’s Very Own Popcon!

Just to be clear, this was not my only cosplay for this three day event! However, Saturday (yesterday) was the biggest day with the most events, so I did my best cosplay for it! On Friday I was John Marston and my friend was Arthur Morgan from RDR2, and today I just went in a simple gyaru makeup look!

But that’s not what you’re here for!

Here’s my Black Jack cosplay just a few months late of the 50th anniversary year of the series. I knew that since my face is very round and that I have a button nose I wouldn’t be able to do a “one for one” cosplay look that I think would do him justice. So instead of working against my body, I created a look that embraced it… I call it Drag Jack!

Please understand that this was my first ever time doing this cosplay so I ended up putting the skin patch on the wrong side of the face (it’s actually the correct side of the face the wig just is backwards and I forget to flip it), but also I didn’t do the scar on his chin either because I forgot as well, let alone any other scars on my body. Next time I did this cosplay I’ll make sure to fix it!

Full body shot, even though this was in the convention center bathrooms the tile gives that sterile hospital look so I mess with it.

Head shots, as you can tell I’m not good at choosing locations for my photos. I plan on redoing it with better photos and not gluing my brows, so stay tuned!

I really should’ve Got2Be’d those spike before I left house… the strands are everywhere.

Advice for Cosplaying BJ

WET-DRY MAKEUP METHOD!!!! The Wet-Dry method of makeup is used in Drag makeup and many other makeup genres to set face paint or heavy makeup. For Black Jack’s face patch you’re going to want to start with a wet facepaint color and then set it with translucent setting powder so it doesn’t only stay all day, but also looks more matte and not porous. Next time I do this look, I plan to use more so my skin looks a bit flatter.

CREAM CONTOURS!!!! Use a cream based contour to contour your nose, cheekbones, and temples. If you use a powdered contour it will come off VERY easily and it will be hard to get a clean line with. I relied on these cream contours mostly for my nose since, again, I have a button nose so I really wanted to contour that to at least make it look a little thinner and longer.

SAFETY PIN YOUR BOW!!! If you want a bow that looks “cartoony” you won’t get that just by tying a red ribbon around your neck. I sewed and glued my bow then safety pinned it my collar to appear like it was standing up on its own. It’s cute!

WEAR TIGHTS (if you’re doing this specific black jack look lmfao)!!! If I did not wear those tights way too much of my hip would be showing. I’m personally not comfort showing that much of my body, so I wore tights underneath my fishnets. But you do you! I like the darker color since it sorta looks like I’m wearing see through dark tights but matching your skin tone as close as possible can make it seem like you aren’t wearing tights at all even if you actually are! Highly recommend!

DON’T FORGET YOUR EAR!!! This isn’t required but I think it looks nice to put a bit of face paint on your ear to look like the skin patch covers that area as well as your face. It’s a bit more cohesive but also doesn’t matter too much.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO BE CAMPY!!! Black Jack’s character is over-the-top and exaggerated, so you shouldn’t be afraid to do the same. If I really wanted this to be Drag Jack, I would’ve done an entire drag makeup look and I think that would be PERFECT if someone better than I at that kind of makeup does it! The bigger the bow the better too! Get some props like a kids toy stethoscope or a mask or gloves! Monopoly money too haha!!!

I finally watched Haikyuu!! and here I am:

How do you survive the loss of your beloved furry companion who was with you from the minute he was born until you had to make the toughest decision of your life - letting him go at almost being 20...? I still have 2 adorable feline girls but Frodo, he was THE cat for me. Actually, he chose me to pick him from the litter of two brothers, both black, climbing on me first everytime I went to play with them. He moved in with me (until then he was at my parents’ house) alongside Fiona, the ragdoll kitten to a rented place. Being the same age - they quickly became best friends for life. We moved together twice until I bought my current apartment - turning it into our forever home. He always loved guests, being elegant but approachable. He thaught me how fetch a ball (or rather that he can fetch a ball in case I was kind enough to actually throw it), was my natural bug killer (no flies or spiders survived meeting him), loved to drink from the tap and he always, always had to be close to me, touching me: be it in bed, at my PC, on the sofa, in the kitchen. So tonight my fingers can move free and fast on my keyboard without him lying across my forearms - but I wish my hands and arms were numb and not my heart.

I hope he was happy with me - he did not get to hunt outside but he always had food, warmth and a two-legged servant who did everything she could to make his life as comfortable as possible. He survived a severe bowel blockage operation, had a tooth or two removed but other than that, he was a healthy boy, being able to jump up to the upper edge of the door (FrodOOR).

I can’t stop crying and at the moment I think I never be able to. He took a piece of my heart with him and left a Frodo shaped hole in it.

Fiona is doing her best to comfort me in her own ways - demanding attention, wanting to climb to my lap, she even took the place between my forearms, HIS place.

The past week was rough, he suddenly became weak, eating less and less and getting unable to jump up next to me or to surfaces he could before. And I just realized, hearing Fiona purring, that he has not purred for a while...

I took Tiffany in in October because I wanted to have a continuation when the inevitable happens, but for now, it does not help.

I just miss the special connection Frodo and I shared that cannot be replicated with anyone else. I think that is what hits hardest, that it’s over - for good. I try to think that he is at a safe place now where nothing hurts anymore, probably my dad is spoiling him rotten, plays with Tádé again and he will be there when it will be my turn to go to the other side. Or he is still with me - but in a different dimension where he can see me but I can’t see him.

All I left is almost 20-years of photos I don’t have the heart to go through now. But that will be my next project: getting all his photos in a folder, picking my favorites and print them out. My lovely friends who are my catsitters whenever I travel came to say good-bye to him yesterday and took a little album with them, starting to fill it up with photos they had with him... I just need to fill the rest up.

A friend just said that we are elves to our pets - we just have a longer lifespan, giving us the joy and wonder of being able to be there with them their whole life and the price of this wonder is that we outlive them, leaving us with the loss and mourn. This elf comparison hits harder since his name was Frodo...

For now I just put 2 photos here - last night vs tonight.

number 2: kuro is at your house studying, so to keep your boredom at bay you hop online with kenma, it’s about two hours in when he hears a knock shuffling in the back ground followed by the sound of someone falling onto your bed when he asked about it your response is casual “oh its just my boyfriend.” and he doesn’t pick at it anymore. but then the mic catches a familiar voice in the background. “pretty girl when are you gonna be done, i want to take a nap with you” you give a hum in response to his question. “alright bro gotta leave after this round, so we have to win don’t wanna lose the last match of the day.” obviously you land up losing because kenma can’t get his pretty little head around the fact that he couldn’t tell you were some fucking bitch, you never told him either so that makes you a fucking liar (even tho he didn’t ask). when the game disconnects he’s seething.

number three: this is the worst option really kuro begs him to come hang out with him at his girlfriend, he swears up and down that she’s not the type of woman he’d hate. promises that they have a lot of the same interests. maybe he sends a picture of you cosplaying as one of his favorite characters but that just lowers his opinion, in the photo he can’t even tell its you though. so he’s even more confused when he meets you guys at the arcade. he cautiously calls you by your in game name and you respond with a smile and respond with your irl name. he’s genuinely not sure how to react. not just bc you’re the person he’s been gaming with for almost a year, but with your thick ass platforms you’re just as talk as kuro if not taller. you literally look down at him, can he even talk shit about a bitch like you with out getting his as beat.

anyway this drug out for way longer than intended. but yeah incel!kenma making assumptions and being totally wrong. how funny would it be if he had a crush on kuros gf

Note: i literally had NO clue what to do for this one, but i think i'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out

It was late at night and Kenma was in the middle of a somewhat boring video game when his phone dinged, alerting him of a message. He paused to check, figuring it was Kuroo, but furrowed his brows at the unknown number. He read the message curiously and there was a picture attached.

Unknown: I completed the cosplay! How do I look? :)

Kenma blinked in surprise at the picture you sent. You looked good, really good. You were dressed in a sailor moon cosplay. Your makeup was perfect and your outfit looked like it was taken straight from the anime.

There was only one teensy problem.

He had no clue who the hell you were.

Kenma: the cosplay looks great, but um… do i know u?

Unknown: It’s (Y/n)? Who is this?

Kenma: my name is kenma 

He sent a selfie as proof. 

(Y/n): …

(Y/n): Well that’s embarrassing. I guess I put in the wrong number

Kenma: sorry

He expected the conversation to be over with. But you surprised him when you sent another message.

(Y/n): Weird question, wanna still chat? I’m bored >~<

He blinked twice, then hummed in thought before typing out his reply.

Kenma: i don’t see why not

Over time, texting you became a daily occurrence. You both talked about anything and everything- your lives, your dreams, games, all of it. You sent each other memes and pictures of cats and he found himself looking forward to your messages.

He found out you were a second-year like him, and you went to Karasuno. In fact, you were involved as a manager of the boys’ volleyball team. He told you he was a setter for Nekoma and you thought that was pretty cool, even joking that maybe one day your teams will play against each other.

“Hey, can I borrow your phone? Mine’s dead,” Kuroo said one day before practice.

“Yeah sure,” Kenma handed over his phone and continued playing his nintendo.

Kuroo thanked him and it fell silent as he sent the text to his mom telling him to use Kenma’s phone to get ahold of him. As he waited for a response, Kenma’s phone dinged and a notification popped up that caused Kuroo to furrow his brows.

“Who’s (Y/n)?”

Kenma nearly dropped his nintendo upon hearing your name. With eyes wide, he reached over to snatch the phone back, but Kuroo was too quick and moved away from his friend. He hadn’t told Kuroo about you for the very specific reason of not wanting to be teased.

“Hey she’s pretty cute,” He commented, clicking the picture you sent.

“Give that back!” Kenma shouted.

Not expecting such a visceral reaction out of his friend, Kuroo connected the dots rather quickly, “Oh my god, do you have a secret girlfriend?”

This caught the rest of the team’s attention rather quickly. And they watched as Kenma struggled with Kuroo over the cell. Kenma’s face grew hot at the accusation.

“N-no! It’s not like that!” He vehemently denied.

“Why are you getting so defensive then?” Kuroo asked with a teasing smirk, “You like her~!”

“I never thought I’d see the day when Kenma Kozume has a crush!” Yaku called out.

“Shut up!” Kenma hissed, finally succeeding in taking the phone back.

His cheeks continued to burn when he saw the picture: it was just you showing off your makeup but you looked so cute as always that it made his heart skip a beat.

“Woah dude, your girlfriend’s hot,” Yamamoto commented, looking over his short friend’s shoulder.

“It’s not like that!” Kenma repeated, clutching the phone to his chest to hide it.

“You mean she’s single?” Yamamoto asked with a hopeful tone.

Kenma glared at his teammate, who shrunk away from the harsh look.

“Nevermind.”

Just then, Coach Nekomata was calling for their attention, telling them that the practice was starting.

Kenma: why are you yelling

You sent several crying emojis and he smiled at your overdramatic response.

Kenma: to answer your previous question, yeah i’ll be there :)

Kenma: we’re on our way now

(Y/n): YAY

Kenma chuckled and continued to text you.

“Let me guess, your precious (Y/n)?” Kuroo’s teasing voice brought Kenma out of his thoughts as he was nudged lightly by his friend.

Kenma rolled his eyes, but he nodded anyway, “Uh-huh.”

“So when are we going to get to meet her?” Kuroo questioned.

“She’s going to be at the practice game,” Kenma explained quietly, “She’s one of their managers.”

“Really?” Kuroo’s eyes lit up, “You must be excited then.”

Kenma bit his lip and looked out the window to avoid his friend’s gaze. He had to admit that he was pretty excited, but he was also getting nervous. It would be the first time he would be seeing you in person, and the thought was nerve-wracking. Would you guys click like you do through a screen? What would happen if you didn’t? Would you stop talking to him?

Kuroo picked up on Kenma’s growing stress.

“Relax, it’ll be fun,” He ruffled Kenma’s hair affectionately, ultimately putting a stop to all the worrying thoughts.

“Yeah,” Kenma agreed in that soft tone of his.

He continued to gaze out the window, wondering about you. And he wondered if you were thinking about him too.
