kind of obsessed with "what if" scenarios that are ultimately fruitless because the outcome will probably never change.
can't stop thinking about the conversation the other miracles had about akashi's captaincy right after he was promoted. midorima's fierce belief in his friend's ability to pull the team together. kuroko's concern that it might be too much to take. did they ever talk about it? did akashi ever know midorima thought this highly of him or that kuroko cared so deeply for him? would it have changed anything if he'd known his friends trusted him but also wanted the best for him?
midorima's comment about akashi bringing the team together breaks me, in hindsight and i wonder if it broke midorima's heart too, in a way, when he realised his faith in akashi's capabilities backfired so terribly. that he'd unintentionally ended up abandoning his friend by framing the situation so that everyone relied on akashi without considering he might be able to rely on them too. (it's not mido's fault though, because akashi was already raised to always stand differently and ahead of his peers by his father but i still think the sentiment might have damaged him differently when coming from his friends.) midorima's capacity to focus on performing his personal best because he has fierce trust in his teammates but his initial difficulty warming up to shutoku because he was afraid he'd do it all wrong again? still thinking about that... i don't know... there is something so complicated about everything because midorima had so much faith in akashi, maybe to their own detriment, but it was at the point where nothing anyone could have said would have changed what was already happening. any one of them could have cared or not cared and it wouldn't have mattered because the pivotal moment was akashi's promotion to captain. they were kind of at the point of no return, you know what i mean?
and such early captaincy itself was another burden to shoulder for akashi especially at such an early stage of his formal basketball career where he'd barely begun to explore camaraderie through equal footing with his teammates before being relegated to captain, which inevitably changed the power dynamics again, separating akashi's role from the rest of the team. do you understand, do you understand, am i making sense? i think it can essentially be understood as akashi once again being given responsibilities before he's ready for them, before he's even gotten to enjoy what he's doing the same way his father increasingly enlists him in extracurriculars and enrichment classes at the first sign of competence in one or the other, and akashi's life just becomes a string of one next big thing after the other. he hasn't taken a real breath in a while. how long has he been holding his breath? how long has he been holding up the sky?
the worst part is that it is literally no one's fault except the coach and school administration that insisted on spreading these kids too thin. nijimura wouldn't have felt pressured to step down so soon if he hadn't felt like he had to choose between being a captain or a son, in the first place, which is a messed up choice to be forced to make. the whole situation upsets me because it's always the "trusted adults" in question causing all the problems in the first place.
i think about that scene with nijimura and akashi too much - the "are you uncertain?" "no, i'm worried about you." and i think about it probably more than i should. in a different context it could have been an exchange between akashi and kuroko respectively if kuroko had expressed his concerns sooner. the entire scene felt kind of despondent, too, and not just because of nijimura's news. it didn't feel celebratory at all and i guess that's just a testament to the trend of akashi gaining responsibilities faster than he's capable of shouldering them but having to carry them with grace anyway because there's no other option. because he loves his captain, he loves basketball and he loves this team that believes so absolutely in him that he has to be absolute in his strength as well.
there's just so many ifs but none of those could have changed what was about to happen. idk...

i really like talking about akashis faults : )
theres so much soft akashi love someone has to do it!
this kinda applies to all the miracles but akashi in particular, in teiko after akashis switch i feel like there was something inside him that NEEDED to squash kurokos spirit til there was nothing left
just this sick need to kill his spirt completely
the way he would talk to him really felt like he was rubbing salt in the wound and that he was bitter about the fact that kuroko never lost that spark inside him like the rest of them did, even when he lost everything
i think it was the second time akashi confronted him in the gym after he switched, where he just went on and on until kuroko started crying!!!!!!! than he just left him to cry alone in the gym! aaaaaaaaaaaaa
i think he even called kuroko a child or some shit LMAO or he called his thinking childish
oh my god the line where kurokos like
"isnt basketbal about having fu-" (its something like that)
"NO"
just being so harsh about it
THAN the whole 111 11 shit, i genuinely think akashi saw an opportunity to REALLY get to kuroko and finally kill that spark in him and he technically succeeded, kuroko did start hating basketball, idk if he expected him to just quit tho either way kuroko was too stubborn and im sure akashi knew that it wouldn't stick
THAN after he basically told kuroko it was his fault and he shouldn't have asked for special treatment and like... ok if you jump through a bunch of hoops sure hes not totally in the right but that was definetly just akashi being extra harsh when the kid just had a panic attack in the middle of the court!!!
CAN WE TALK ABOUT THAT CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FACT THAT KUROKO HAD A FUCKING PANIC ATTACK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COURT
DID NO ONE SEE THIS??? DID ANY OF THE MIRACLES EVEN CARE????????AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
i really wished theyd shown more of kuroko and akashis friendship in the anime, cause the way akashi went from being his polite friend who is the whole reason he could even join the third string, to this cold sadistic person who rubs salt in his wounds
its been a bit since i watched the teiko episodes so sorry if i dont remember everything exactly

Round 2
Daiki Aomine (Kuroko no Basket) vs Shoei Barou (Blue Lock)
Daiki Aomine
Tumblr media
Sport: Basketball
Appearance: short dark blue hair, dark blue eyes, 192 cm (6' 3½"), japanese
Propaganda: Aomine Daiki was the ace player in the prodigious group known as "The Generation of Miracles." This was a group of middle school basketball players who were so unbelievably talented and gifted that they completely dominated all other schools they came across for 3 years straight. Aomine was the first to unlock his "potential," effortlessly scoring baskets and dunks left and right without any opposition. This however, turned out to be a massive burden to him. Aomine, the one who played and loved basketbally more than anyone else, now found himself alone on the court. No one could challenge him. The sport he dedicated himself to lost all meaning. There was no longer any fun to be had. This realization broke Aomine. He went from a smiling, outgoing guy to a more sullen one. His mood completely shifted, and he would remain this way until he could find a worthy rival. Ultimately, Aomine's journey shows that the true fun in sports comes not from winning, but from the competition and fierce battles one can have. To be able to go all out to the best of one's abilities and have fun is the essence of sports.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shoei Barou
Tumblr media
Sport: Football
Appearance: Long black hair, red eyes, 187 cm, Japanese. In more recent chapters he's literally built like Miguel O'hara.
Propaganda: Blue Lock (the project) aims to create a striker that plays for themselves first and foremost. Scoring goals is the most important thing here and Barou applies to that perfectly. He is arrogant and selfish and only cares about being the protagonist of every game he's in. He calls himself 'King' and so does everyone else. He 'devours' his teammates for the sake of scoring. One time he passed to a guy he had been defeated by in the past and imagined an entire alternate future reality where he was alone in his home drinking and watching that guy score the goal that won him the world cup??? And that motivated him to develop a new play style??????!!!!!??? If I remember correctly he also stole the ball off him. Also the only match that we've seen him cooperate is because his coach literally gave him an entire team to lead without question. He's the best.

Kise x Reader
Title: Annoyance Fluff No Warning
You walked to the gym with the application in hand, you had every intention of becoming the manager of the basketball team. Since you couldn’t play basketball due to a temporary injury this was as close to it as you could get. A part of you were nervous since this was also your first day of classes, it surprisingly went well. You made quite a few friends and the teachers enjoyed having you in class.
Once you got to the gym you opened the steel doors and walked in, you didn’t mean to but those doors were heavy. They ended up slamming shut behind you causing all eyes fell on you. You could have sworn you heard some groans but you weren’t sure why. A guy began to walk up to you and he was sweating, you assumed it was from practice but you realized that wasn’t the case as soon as he spoke.
“C-Can I help y-you?”
“Yeah, my name is (L/N) (Y/N). I am looking to become the manager…” Everyone looked at each other as the coach came up to you.
“What is your reason?”
“Uh, I have a knee injury and can’t actually play until I have surgery so this is the next best thing.”
“So it’s not for Kise?” The guy from earlier asked and you blinked a couple times
“Kise~ wait you mean the pretty boy…. model guy….”
“(Y/N)~Chi~” Your eyes widen as you ducked when you were suddenly attacked.
“Oh fuck it is. On second thoughts I revoke my request.” You said before trying to rush out but Kise was stronger pulling you back.
“YOU HAVE TO STAY!”
“NO! IF I HAVE TO DEAL WITH YOUR ASS I RATHER GET HIT BY A TRAIN!” You kicked him hard in the stomach which made him double over.
“You kick harder than Kasamatsu senpai~” He whined and you growled, your once timid nature turned cold.
“Hey Captain, I think you got the answer to your question. I don’t think she is here for Kise…” One laughed loudly and you blinked and he sighed softly.
“I accept your application we need a manager.”
“No, I said I revoke it.”
“YAY!”
“Shut up idiot.”
“(Y/N)chii is so mean to me…”
“I am not even sorry.” You glared but your eyes soften when a hand was placed on your shoulder.
“W-We could use someone to h-help keep him in check. I get tired of disciplining him,” he stuttered and you sighed softly with a wide smile.
“Fine, but only because it’s basketball. Kise, if you do not let me go I swear they will be losing a basketball player…”
“But…”
“No…” Kise let go with a pout and you groaned slightly.
“Takeuchi the coach, it will be great to have some help.” You shook his hand and they began practice again. You didn’t need to be told what to do and just did most of the things that needed to be done. Even taking notes while the coach focused on practice. You decided to refill the water bottles and once you left everyone turned to Kise.
“How do you know her?”
“Well, she is also a model. We did several projects together, I have a huge crush on her. Though I am pretty sure she hates me…” Kise said despite the smile on his face they could physically hear the pain in his voice, which caused them to flinch.
“It’s fine though, I am fine with working with her and now being at practice with her.”
“Normally it’s the girls chasing him not the other way around.”
“He must really like her a lot,” Kise had a small blush on his cheeks but the conversations stopped as soon as you walked in. You handed everyone bottles of water and the coach held the after practice meeting. You began to clean up and they soon helped once the meeting was over.
“(Y/N)chii~ let me take that for you,” he said pushing the cart of basketballs for you.
“I got it,”
“Your knee you shouldn’t push or carry anything heavy. So I got it… if you hurt yourself, I will have to carry you home.”
“Nope I would have someone else carry me home.”
“So mean!”
“Eh but thanks I guess,” you turned around and gave the notes you took on each player.
“Thanks, this makes it easier to pin point certain weaknesses.”
“No problem, anything else I can help with?”
“No we are done today.”
“Okay, I will leave first then.”
“Uh wait, (L/N) its late out.” The guy you knew as Kobori said and you shrugged.
“I will be fine, I have pepper spray with me.”
“I actually don’t feel comfortable you walking home alone either.” Kasamatsu said though he wasn’t looking at you.
“I will be fi~”
“I live close to (Y/N)chii, I can walk her home.” Kise said and everyone looked at each other, you looked uninterested.
“I think that is best.” The coach said and you shrugged.
“He has a point, we catch the same train.” You grumbled and everyone nodded.
“Be safe you two,” you waved your hand over your shoulder. The walk to the train station was quiet. Too quiet, you got suspicious that you lost Kise some how. You stopped walking and saw Kise was looking at the ground walking really slowly.
“Yo, Kise, we are going to miss the train come on.”
“Huh? Oh right sorry,” he sped his pace up to catch up to you. He was still really quiet which you got slightly concerned.
“Hey are you okay? Did I kick you too hard earlier?” You asked and Kise blinked and looked over at you.
“I am fine.”
“Are you sure? You look down. Way too quiet, and it’s kind of freaking me out,” you placed your hand on his shoulder and he blushed.
“Sorry, I don’t mean to worry you. Do you hate me?”
“Heh? Hate you? Well no not necessarily, I don’t.”
“Really? It seems that way,” he stopped walking and you looked at him. He had a blush on his cheeks and you felt kinda bad.
“I am sorry, I didn’t mean to make it seem like I hate you. I really don’t.”
“Why don’t you like me then?”
“I am not sure how to answer that,” you admitted and he lifted his gaze to meet yours.
“I really like you, more than friends,” he cupped your face and at first he hesitated but he eventually leaned in catching your lips with his own. You gasped softly, your eyes widened and your face turned red. Sure you kissed Kise before but it was for a photo shoot. This was different, way different the kiss was gentle yet passionate. You had frozen on spot, and as quickly as the kiss started it ended.
He looked at your face, and you were a blushing mess. He found it cute, but your silence was eating him alive. He moved his hands from your face and trailed them down your arms before holding both of your hands.
“(Y/N)chii?”
“I…”
“Idiot, you broke her.” Kise turned around to see his teammates, you could barely process what happened.
“What are you guys doing here?”
“We were concerned…”
“Go away me and~” a large slap echoed through the night, Kise felt stinging on his cheek, and he held it and stared at you. You suddenly ran off quickly from him, you didn’t know what to do or say so slapping him was the only thing you could think of. Kise took that as a rejection and he felt his heart break.
“(Y/N)chii~” he trailed off and everyone face palmed.
“Go after her, one it’s dark and she ran the opposite way of the train station.” Kasamatsu kicked Kise who whined. But he ran after you, in hopes to catch up to you quickly.
You were fast, and your heart was racing. You weren’t expecting Kise to kiss you, and once you were far enough you leaned against the tree. You placed your hand over your chest and blushed heavily. You shook your head before burying your face in your hands. You wanted scream and slap yourself before slapping Kise.
You stayed there and kept your face hidden as you tried to sort your thoughts out. You slowly moved your hands away from your face because you knew you had to apologize. You don’t even know why you slapped him, once your eyes adjusted you saw a figure running towards you.
“(Y/N)chii…”
“Kise-”
“I am sorry I should have asked you if I could kiss you. You didn’t hate me before but~” You hugged him and buried your face into his chest.
“I am sorry for slapping you. It was automatic, I didn’t know what else to do.”
“(Y/N)chii, don’t apologize. It was my fault,” you shook your head and kept your face hidden from him. He tilted your head up and he saw that you were still blushing. He flashed you his charming smile which gave you slight butterflies.
“You don’t hate me still?”
“No,” he relaxed and leaned his forehead against your shoulder. You stayed in his hold for a few moment to calm yourself down, once you calmed down you pulled from the hug. He pouted slightly since you were really warm and fit perfect in his arms.
“I really am sorry I slapped you. I just didn’t know what to do when you kissed me and I was in a state of shock.”
“With all of your rambling I am tempted to kiss you again, but your slaps hurt,” he joked trying to calm you down a bit.
“S-Shut up.”
“Okay, we should head back to the train station I am sure we missed it,” he said walking ahead of you but you grabbed the back of his shirt which caused him to look at you.
“(Y/N)chii?”
“Did you mean what you said? You liked me?” He turned to you and you were looking at the ground.
“No, I don’t mean it,” he said and you snapped your head up. Hurt was in your eyes and you were surprised. He cupped your cheeks again and placed his forehead against yours.
“I love you,” he had that grin on his face that you wanted to slap off.
“I hate you.”
“Ehh?”
“But, I think I love you too…”
“Finally,” he mumbled slightly and you leaned up shyly and kissed him this time. He moved his arms around your waist and held you to him. This kiss was much shorter as you were getting embarrassed and parted.
“I won’t get slapped this time will I?”
“Let it go, geez. No.” You mumbled and he laughed softly.
“I am just messing with you, I gotten use to your hits. I doubt that will be the last time I get slapped.”
“You make me sound abusive. Half the time you deserve it.”
“That is debatable…”
“Shut it, lets go we already missed the train.”
“As a courtesy to you, who ran off.”
“Because you confessed and kissed me out of no where!” You defended and he grinned and pecked your lips again.
“Is it safe to say you are my girlfriend now?”
“Idiot, yes. Just don’t flirt with every girl you see. You better reject them, or I am going to reject you.” You huffed slightly with a blush and Kise nudged his nose against your cheek.
“You get jealous easy… its cute.
“You flirt with those girls, I will give Aomine or Kagami all of my attention.”
“Wait how do you know those two!?”
“Me and Kagami went to the same school in America, and Aomine well he is apparently a huge fan of mine.”
Kise’s eyes instantly trailed from your eyes to your chest and you blinked before following his gaze. Your face turned red and you covered your chest and you slapped him hard.
“Owe!”
“You deserved it pervert!”
“I was just seeing something he likes girls with big bo~”
“Say anything else I will end you.”
“It’s not me its him…”
“Ugh I can’t believe it he is such a perve you are too for looking.”
“I- won’t deny that… but you are really pretty and I am the luckiest guy in the world,” you huffed but smiled slightly as he held your hand tightly.
