It was strange for Sosuke to be the more emotional one in any given circumstance. This is why, when the stranger met her circumstances with seemingly no concern whatsoever, Sosuke found himself in a rare moment of being stunned. She was swaying— trembling beneath him, and yet she still occupied herself with supporting him.
It took him a moment, but Sosuke managed to gather enough strength from the life energy she’d given him to support himself. Intently, he inspected the stranger he’d just turned into prey, “Why?” He asked her. The word was a single syllable that was drenched with confusion and irritation. Humans weren’t normally the types to assist creatures like him without strings attached. Why would she help him? Why did her voice sound so indifferent? Did she not understand what he could do to her? What he wanted to do to her?
Sosuke hated how much he liked the flavor of her energy— if it could even be called energy. It was warm and then dull. It ran through him like an anesthetic. It was something he wasn’t used to experiencing. He had tasted fear, even inebriation— but never numbness. He ran the back of his hand against his lips, leaving a wine-red streak that looked stark against his pale skin. Without thinking, he licked at it, agitated at the way the energy danced on his tongue, “It’s like a drug…” he murmured, half to himself.
Then, he sighed, returning his attention back to the brazen girl, “Didn’t your parents teach you not to talk to strangers? You realize you could have died, don’t you?” He hissed, his deep voice feeling jarring in the quiet walls of the library. “What if I wouldn’t have stopped myself? What was your plan then? You’d just die? You’d die at the hands of someone whose name you don’t even know? I’d have hidden you, you know? No one would even have known you were gone!”

Howdy, hi! My RP blog is @himura-brothers but it’s my secondary so I’ll submit my ad like this, haha! 😅
So, a little bit about myself; I’m a 22F who’s *just about* graduated with my BA in creative writing and English. I have, like, two classes left before I graduate. I have a lot of passion for writing but have a hard time allowing myself to have fun with it so I’m trying to rediscover that through reconnecting with the part of me that just wrote for the hell of it. Right now, I’m working on a manga where my OCs are from, called Kurai Jinhaku, and it has been helping me stay motivated to write that when I write rps with the characters from there, lol. I’m looking for an RP partner who’s 18+, has a passion for writing, and doesn’t mind staying on Tumblr for RP. I can start the thread and I’ll keep it tidy and all that, I just don’t have a discord. I prefer not to get NSFW unless heavily discussed before hand otherwise I’m cool with just fading to black.
My OCs that I’m working with are Maku and Sosuke Himura. They are brothers but I usually only RP using one or the other. The brothers are Children of Death— beings created by the God of Death after getting jealous of the humans fearing him and loving the Goddess of Life. However, the God of Death couldn’t make something “alive,” so the Children of Death are only able to live by feeding off of the life energy in humans. In other words— they’re fancy vampires, haha.
Sosuke Himura is the older brother, being about 23 years old. He is cold, analytical, and keeps to himself. He keeps himself at a distance. He is able to manipulate ice. Much of his childhood was spent taking care of Maku after their clan had been massacred by humans and as such he tends to keep people at an arms length. In spite of his cold demeanor, he is tender and protective of those he cares about. If he decides to let you in, he’ll care for you— probably more than he cares for himself.
Maku Himura is the younger brother, at about 18 years old. He’s reckless, sarcastic, and always looking for the next hit of amusement. He inherited the crest of the chief, allowing him superior strength and speed— though he’s completely inept when it comes to magic. If Sosuke is ice, Maku is fire. Maku will pick a fight just because he can. Having come to the conclusion that he has nothing to lose and everything to gain, Maku tackles things head on and does so with a big grin on his face. He gets upset with Sosuke for “babying” him, but really he is worried about his brother just as much as his brother worries about him. Maku doesn’t care about his own self preservation, but he’ll fight tooth and nail if he sees someone in need. If there’s amusement nearby, Maku isn’t far behind. And if there isn’t? Maku has no problem messing around and finding some.
I really hope to hear from some of you and I look forward to writing together!!!

Hunger. It was the only word Sosuke could think as he walked through the town. Though his vision shook and his mind was filled with fog, he managed not to attract any stares from his disposition. Each time he passed another human, it made his entire body pang. His fangs ached, as though they were desperate to sink into something. Anything. Hunger.
At some point in his walk, Sosuke realized he no longer could recognize anything. The world had been reduced to fuzzy shapes and static. Annoyance flooded through him. He had been careless and now someone else would have to pay that price. He didn’t realize how soon that price would be collected though.
It happened in what felt like an instant. Someone— a girl smelling of coffee and old paper— slid past Sosuke as he finally reached his breaking point. He tried to focus his crimson eyes as he forced himself out of the haze to find himself gripping the stranger’s wrist. The bone jutted against his palm, and he thought if he even held a fraction tighter this girl would shatter. His irises were nothing but slits making it hard for him to see her clearly. If it wasn’t for the fact that he’d been this bad before, he knew he’d be completely ruled by instinct. As he wrangled control of his body from his hunger, he felt each ripple of her pulse through her thin, pale skin. His lips twitched and he fought to form each syllable that followed, “Come with me.” The words were simple but planned. No niceties. Sosuke didn’t want her to even have the option to not do as he said.

Ooc: Discord
After careful consideration, I have decided to get a discord. It appears this is now the standard in the RP space which means I need to get brave and confront that whole discord-phobia that I have.
For those that don’t know, I haven’t been doing rps through discord because I had a weird childhood experience that has led me to being really, really apprehensive about it. And by that? I mean I was an idiot pre-teen on the internet and totally accidentally doxxed myself. It was pretty scary, not gonna lie, haha!
It doesn’t help that my husband’s understanding of the internet is like— straight off of a Degrassi episode so he had me all worried about internet safety and stuff. I figure as long as everyone plays nice and I’m smarter than my 13-year-old version of myself at 22, I’ll probably be fine.
TLDR; apparently discord is the standard now for the RP community and I’ll get one but I’m still probably going to be very cautious about it. My preference is still text post/reblog rps, but I’m willing to discuss moving to discord if that is my Rp partner’s preference.

OC’s for this blog!
These are Maku and Sosuke Himura. They are brothers from the manga that I write, Kurai Jinhaku. They are demons created by the God of Death, doomed to feed off of the Children of Life (humans) in order to survive. After a human with golden hair massacred their clan, Maku and Sosuke decided that the only way to protect themselves is to coexist with humans— meaning they must balance between hunger and peace at all times.
CHARACTER BIOS UNDER READ MORE!!
To the right is the elder brother, Sosuke Himura;
Age: 23
Race: Child of Death
Occupation: N/A
Appearance: Sosuke is about 6’1” (or 183 cm). He has pale skin and scarlet eyes. His ears are long and pointed (think like an elf) and he has long nails and sharp fangs. He keeps his silky, black hair long, where it brushes just below his broad shoulders. Often, Sosuke dresses business casual. He is most comfortable in a button up dress shirt and some jeans.
Personality: Sosuke is cold, analytical, and quick witted. He prefers to build a plan (and a backup plan) before making any sort of decision. That doesn’t make him slow to act, however. He’s gotten rather swift and coming up with a plan and executing it without much trouble. He tends to be rather abrasive. Sosuke will tell you exactly what he thinks of you instead of making you waste time guessing. If he thinks you’re annoying he’ll say so. Despite this, he’s a very caring and loyal man, you just have to warm your way through his icy exterior. Sosuke keeps people away because not only does he believe he’s a danger to them, he believes they’re a danger to him. However, once you get him out of his shell, he’s very tender. He’d prioritize your comfort over his own just because he wants you to be happy and safe.
Abilities: ice manipulation
Likes: Books, the smell of coffee, winter, cats
Dislikes: being inconvenienced, being caught off guard, crowds, small talk
To the left is the younger brother, Maku Himura;
Age: 18
Race: Child of Death
Occupation: ((Menace to society— jk)) N/A
Appearance: Maku is about 5’6” (167.6 cm). Like his brother, he too is rather pale and thin. Maku has icy blue eyes, fangs, and pointed ears. His ears are a bit shorter than Sosuke’s and his fangs are a bit longer (he occasionally has a lisp because of this when he gets a little too hyped up.) he has tufty, silver hair which he parts in the middle. On top of his head are two cowlicks that lift his hair like cat ears. Maku is seen sporting leathers, spikes, ripped jeans, and converses. He is a huge fan of the punkrock-scene aesthetic.
Personality: if Sosuke is ice, Maku is fire. Maku prefers to act now and ask for forgiveness later. He’ll do anything for a bit of fun. He does what he wants, when he wants, and prefers life to feel like an adventure rather than a list. Maku has little regards for his own safety. This is how he shows he cares. If he’s attached to you, he’d throw himself into a vat of acid just to keep you safe. He would protect those he loves at any cost. With that said, he has little to no self preservation. Maku lacks the understanding that care and affection is a two way street and that people can care about *him* as well. He acts like he doesn’t care but it’s just his way of hiding the idea that, like everyone else, he’s soft on the inside. Like his brother, Maku tries not to feed often, though it’s not as altruistic as Sosuke’s reasons. Hurting others to keep himself alive kinda messes with him because he values others a lot and doesn’t value himself, like, at all.
Abilities: enhanced physical prowess (faster/stronger than most humans but lacks any magical capabilities)
Likes: cows (it’s a long story he has a pet cow), fizzy drinks, jelly filled doughnuts, loud music, trying new things
Dislikes: being bored, having to think things through, being lonely, the tufts on his head, the fact that he lisps when he gets to excited

Sosuke stumbled ever so slightly. It was the first time he’d spoken to a human for long enough to be asked that question. In truth, he didn’t exactly have a home. He hadn’t had a home since he was 12 years old. He’d occasionally stay at hotels, but for the most part, he was a wanderer. He hadn’t realized that the question would come with such a wave of shame, “I’m…” he paused, searching for the right word. “I’m nomadic.” He settled.
Actually, that begged an important question. Before he had wandered into this town, Sosuke had been so out of it that he had no idea where he had been camping out previously. His last memory had been some cave where he was trying to wait out the hunger pangs. He stifled another sigh. If he couldn’t find his bag full of his belongings, he would have to go on a stealing haul again. Not that he was above stealing to get what he needed, it was just massively inconvenient.
Turning right when Lyra indicated, Sosuke shook his head, mumbling half to her and half to himself, “I’ll figure something out. It’s not worth thinking about.”
@corvus-corvi
Lyra was shockingly light. Alarmingly light. Granted, it wasn’t like Sosuke tended to have a difficult time doing any kind of physical activity normally— but this girl was a little more than a paper weight. When she objected he couldn’t stop his eyes from rolling, “I’ll believe that when I see it,” he answered, nonchalantly walking forward.
“How long do I keep going straight?” Sosuke asked, peering at her from his periphery. Her words had been slow and ever so slightly slurred, and he was checking to make sure her eyes were open. He stifled his instincts. With her on him like this, he couldn’t stop from breathing in her scent and he felt his body ache once more. He’d fed— he reminded himself. And, sure, he’d stopped himself from feeding to satisfaction as to not kill her. Even still the monster that coexisted with him within the confines of his mind still chose to rear its ugly head in whenever it got the chance.
“D-don’t go falling asleep, alright?” He reminded her, and then hissed in irritation when he heard himself stammer.

Sosuke squinted at her, cocking his head ever so slightly to the side. He knew she was human. She tasted human, she looked human— but she didn’t behave human. It was as if Lyra had locked anything remotely human up. As if her own humanity endangered her. She had just been fed from yet she didn’t exhibit any kind of hesitation nor reservation regarding Sosuke. She wasn’t afraid of pain or even of death and, in Sosuke’s experience, all humans had fear associated with those. Even Children of Death were afraid of those.
Gesturing for Lyra to take the lead, Sosuke walked behind her with his hands tucked in his pockets. He watched her for a bit, taking note of the way she moved and keeping an eye out for any sign of weakness due to blood loss, “I’ve never seen a human behave less human than you do,” He commented under his breath. Though he hadn’t fully intended that to be said out loud, it wasn’t a lie. Therefore, he didn’t retract it.

Lyra. There was something musical about the name— it contrasted her otherwise monochrome personality. He watched her leave, and waited. Scoffing, Sosuke wondered when he became the kind of guy to care about humans names or wait for them like some kind of dog. He licked at his bottom lip, the tingly tang of her blood still lingering on it.
When Lyra returned Sosuke blinked. Something was different. The shirt. Right. He’d covered her in blood when he… He stiffened with realization and looked down. The chest of his formerly white button up shirt had been drizzled with a layer of scarlet. There was a moment where he had to reason with whatever animal lived in his brain to not try tasting his own shirt to see if the narcotic flavor of Lyra’s energy still resides in the blood. Besides that, it was still slick against his skin from sweat. He grimaced. He had no idea how long he’d been out of control for.
He didn’t say anything, but seeing her having changed made him awkwardly look around for something to cover himself with. He couldn’t remember what the weather was like outside— was it reasonable to walk around shirtless? But that was classless! Though he was silent his eyes darted around trying to figure out a way to make this walk home as nonchalant as possible.

The offer made Sosuke’s breath get caught in his throat. He blinked, stunned. Then, he was hit with confusion, “What—? I…” he wanted to say yes. He wanted to say yes so badly. It was only when the offer was said that Sosuke realized how exhausted he was. The last time he’d been in a proper bed was probably weeks ago— and even then, hotel rooms are expensive. His back ached from countless nights making do and sleeping in caves, on the dirt, or on park benches. That wasn’t even mentioning the fully alert half-sleeps he’d have where he would keep one eye open for any potential threats.
“Why are you… helping me?” Sosuke finally asked. “I… hurt you, remember? You’re under no obligation to show me any amount of kindness. You’d be letting the same monster who landed you into this mess into your home. Isn’t that foolish?” He reminded her. Even still, his chest felt light with the feeling her kindness gave him. He had never known humans to be so gentle. Humans were scared, senseless creatures who killed others the moment they were threatened. Sosuke was a threat to Lyra. Once again, he found himself double checking her scent just to make sure she wasn’t some fae in disguise. Rest assured, he was completely mystified by her.

“Good.” Sosuke affirmed. It was wise not to trust him. Sosuke didn’t trust him. He followed her instructions to the letter. Something about carrying her like this made him feel a twinge of nostalgia. When he was younger, he’d carry his younger brother like this from time to time— whenever he pushed himself too hard and made himself too tired to move. It was oddly comforting somehow.
For a while, Sosuke carried her in silence after that. It was good for him, since it allowed him to focus his energy to not be allured by the scent of the girl he was carrying. Then, he realized what a scene it would make for Sosuke to be carrying the dazed Lyra if anyone she knew saw them. “Do you live alone?” He inquired, trying to plan ahead.

It was subtle. For what it was worth, Lyra probably would have been able to hide it had Sosuke not been watching her as closely as he had. The slightest falter in her movements coupled with a brief moment where her body went slack and then tended up in response. She could pretend she wasn’t human all she wanted— it didn’t stop that she was one.
“Lyra—“ Sosuke gave the smallest of gasps, instinctively grabbing onto one of her shoulders in an attempt to steady her. Irritation and guilt washed over him and, without asking for her input, Sosuke had lifted her and draped her over his shoulders, “You’ve done enough. I’ll take you the rest of the way.” Her state was his fault. It was his fault for losing control and for feeding from someone who— had he been lucid— he would have never attacked. Even now, he could feel her bones. Sosuke stifled a sigh. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t be like this.
“Let me take some responsibility.”

You’d just die? You’d die at the hands of someone whose name you don’t even know? I’d have hidden you, you know? No one would even have known you were gone!”

Lyra must be delirious. That was Sosuke’s first thought. He wondered if it would have been more merciful to just kill her. At the very least, it would have been less confusing.
Then again? It would also have meant he wouldn’t have an opportunity to sleep in an actual bed either. In the same way that he felt like he was using her, it would be foolish to ignore an obvious benefit to his own well being.
“I don’t rest,” he answered. It was a half lie in truth, any and all self care happened when his body took over and forced him to do it. Sleep, feeding, feeling— they were all things that happened against his will. “I would… I would just be staying to make sure you don’t go and die, alright? It’s for your sake, not mine.” Pausing his defensive statement he gestured at an upcoming house, “… Is it that one?”
