i started watching skins back at hs when quarantine just started cause i've been seeing clips of the show showing up on youtube recs (especially effy like i've known her name before watching the show lmao) and it was also available on netflix until i saw that it will be removed by the next two weeks. so at that time, i spend my nights watching the almost one-hour episodes—two per night at least—and i can proudly say that it is at the top of my favorite tv show list (idk about generations 2 and 3 though cause i only had time to watch generation 1 (s1 and s2) before it got removed.) so I'm very glad that my fic has made you interested in giving the series a chance for you to watch !! i’ve also put a link to season 1 of the show in this series’ masterlist if you are curious.

i can't say that skins is popular among my peers though cause i remember that euphoria aired a year before so most of the people i know watch euphoria instead. but skins is the more "realistic" take on teen portrayal in fiction cause they were played by teenagers and written by teenagers as well (the oldest in the cast was the one who played sid if i remember correctly who is 20 by the time the show first shoot, cmiiw!). so i take it as a challenge for me to adapt skins late 2000s aesthetic to a more modern one with social media and set predominantly in korea which doesn't have the concept of colleges or sixth form in their education before entering uni (or gymnasium in skam) speaking of skam, the other tv show inspired that me to make this series, it is a more modern take of realistic teen drama cause every character in the series has their own real-life instagram that will be updated in between episodes and set in the 2010s so it is much closer to modern teen’s day to day life.

tbh, skins is infamous for cliffhangers for their episodes (i'm watching you s1:ep2 cassie) so i left the episode as a cliffhanger because heeseung and mc will just exist in the other episodes as well (and this episode's mc will have a more supporting role in beomgyu's episode like he did in this one) and they can still grow beyond this episode. so i can say that their story is just in their infancy ;) once again, thank you and i really appreciate your comments :D :D
