Au Au Phil having to go into the bathroom and scream into a towel every hour on the hour because of his emotions, and Techno just having the very straightforward problem that the most beautiful man in the world is now covered in gold and fights well and smiled at him, he would die for him.

Techno thought he was pretty before, but he was also still basically a slave and beat up and Techno's not about to take advantage. And now he's beautiful and free and trying to free others, and Techno is going to have to make an exception to his beliefs about anarchy.

The first night he sees Dream’s face it’s… it’s special. To him, at least. He’s seen Dream’s face before, of course. Seen him in the throes of heat where his beauty nearly matched Wilbur’s. It was a sight that played often behind Techno’s eyes when he drifted off to sleep. Dream’s head thrown back, mid-orgasm, all of him on display for all to see. It was a vulnerability that Dream never showed to anyone else.

For all he knew, only Wilbur had ever seen Dream like that before. No wonder Wilbur tried to hide it like a closely guarded treasure.

But even in his memory, Technoblade can’t see Dream’s face. It blurs where the memory should be clear. He made sure he wouldn’t remember it; Dream still didn’t like to show his face to them. So, the first time he sees it, the first time it’s truly, truly shown to him, his breath catches in his throat. 

Dream is beautiful. It’s something he’s known, of course. He’s beautiful in the way he moves, the way he effortlessly jumps across the roof. He’s beautiful in the way he dodges and weaves when they spar, the way he doesn’t trip over his feet anymore as he brings himself close enough to touch before his fist collides with Techno’s jaw. He’s beautiful in the way he reaches behind his head, the buckles clicking softly as he gently drops the last shield he holds between them.

He smirks as Techno falters for words, though he can see the way his fingers nervously run over the edges of the mask. Techno sits closer, the light from the windows trickling past the gap in the curtains. He wants to reach out and touch, to change the memory in his head with what he’s now trusted with. He’s almost sure that if he does, that Dream will fade into smoke and wisp into nothingness around his fingers. He’s afraid, Techno finds. Deep in his chest where only Phil and Wilbur have reached into to wrap their fingers around his heart, he finds the fear settling deep within his marrow. 

The fear that this won’t last, that he’ll wake up in the morning and all he’ll be left with is the memories of something that never even happened. 

Dream reaches for him first, his hand warm where it settles on his cheek. Techno hesitates just one moment before he leans into the touch. “What,” he says, a bitter laugh dancing on his tongue. “Am I so ugly that you’re speechless?”

“You’re beautiful,” Techno replies immediately, his response an exhale with the need to get the words out of him. Dream stills, then softens in a way that he’s never seen with anyone but Wilbur. Techno holds that memory tight in his hands, slots it in right with Phil’s first laugh and Wilbur kissing him in the greenhouse. He reaches up to cup Dream’s cheek in his own hand, almost shocked that he doesn’t slip out of his fingers immediately. He does twitch back before he leans into the touch. Techno doesn’t let that hurt him more than it should. He’ll take what he can get from Dream. He’ll take whatever Dream gives him and he’ll hoard it selfishly.

“More beautiful than Wilbur?” he asks, and they both know that’s not true.

“No one’s more beautiful than Wilbur,” he replies, and Dream laughs as he agrees. But Techno needs Dream to know it, still. He needs Dream to hear it. “But you’re close,” he says and Dream’s laugh fades into nothingness.

When Techno wakes up the next morning, he can still hear Dream’s laugh echoing around in his skull. For a moment, when he closes his eyes, he can still see Dream’s face in his mind. He’s beautiful, in this memory he finds between Phil’s first laugh and Wilbur kissing him in the greenhouse. He’s beautiful and Techno aches with it.

But it is morning now, and he needs to wake up from dreams and memories. He rolls towards his nightstand, reaching for his glasses, when his hand rests on something smooth and large. Technoblade blinks the sleep from his eyes as he rises from his bed, his gaze falling on the mask resting on his nightstand. He hears shuffling behind him, feels a body press close to him, and when he turns, his breath catches in his throat.

He’s beautiful.

Especially if Phil is on the “isn’t he pretty? Tell him he’s pretty. Tell him rn” train. That’s a weird foursome. (Is Dream going to tell him he’s handsome? ) (Techno hates this can he just kiss someone now please.)

I love the thought that Phil is fake dating Techno with his real feelings, but he's also maybe starting to catch real feelings for Dream and also Wilbur. Is that fake cheating? Is it real cheating?

Techno is positive that he is the least attractive person in this bed right now which- kudos to him, punching above his weight, but he'd really appreciate it if people would stop talking about how handsome he supposedly is and start letting him kiss them.

(Also, I don't remember, did we ever say anything re: Dream wearing his mask? Because I'm laughing at the idea of Dream showing up for this foursome and immediately opening with 'the mask stays ON')

Picturing starting sparring in ktifmb AU AU, and how absolutely complex that would be. Phil beating techno in a spar and afraid that he let him win, and afraid that techno is going to leave, and panicked how good it felt to pin down techno and see him concede with a grin, and being beaten by techno and afraid that he misjudged what this man is going to do in that moment when he won, and having a moment of panic at how safe he felt when he realized this man wasn’t going to press his advantage. Phil is a mess. Techno still doesn’t know what is going on and the king is really pretty and seeing him fight was a dream, he shouldn’t be thinking about the king like this.

Phil asks if Techno wants to spar again tomorrow, and does he want to get lunch too?

Poor Phil is going through a whole spectrum of emotions, and Techno is just confused and neither of them know what the fuck they're doing here.

But yeah, he does want to get lunch.

Picturing Techno’s internal panic in the ktifmb alternate timeline AU, when he keeps getting asked to breakfast by the king. Once he recognized the man he expected to be punished or thrown out, and he knows how to deal with that, but this noble keeps making conversation with him over delicious food, and he’s distractingly pretty, and Techno just doesn’t know what to do. He’s not good at conversation! He doesn’t have nice manners! He’s still figuring out what fork to use! (Though after the first time, it’s only one set of silverware to pick from.) He doesn’t know the court gossip— he ends up talking tactics cause that’s all he knows. He invites the king to spar sometime without thinking and he smiles at him and his heart stops.

Techno out here blushing every time Phil smiles at him like a fucking simp. And meanwhile Phil is just consistently caught between panic and impressing Techno. He wants him to stay, he wants him to leave immediately. He doesn't know what he wants, except maybe to see Techno smile more.

No no, I'm with Jewels, Phil is certainly experiencing shrimp emotions around Techno/every time they spar. Inventing new types of emotions to have, and they are all centered on this man. — stressed.

Phil trying to like. Write down his emotions? Just to get them out? But he doesn't know what they are, so then he just gets more frustrated??? this is terrible???

I knooooow everyone but Jackson is having such a rough time. And probably him too, but kids are pretty resilient, so he'll be okay.

So to whip ktifmb au Phil, you’d probably have to yank his wings up and out of the way first.

That depends entirely on how careful you want to be of his wings, honestly. And how good you are with a whip. But in general, yeah, probably would be easier to either lift them up or tie them straight out to the side, so you could get to this lower back?

Techno gets the babies back to their parents, Phil lets out his inner demons, maybe the bodies are presentable enough to show the kids for assurance that they won’t be hurt again, maybe they are not. But NOBODY tries to kidnap empire kids again. Bad times for people who tried to Whump Jackson.

Phil gets to really stretch his wings, maybe have a little fun hunting down some people for a cause that's extremely righteous. And they get the kids back safe!

Phil in every canon would not react well to someone kidnapping children, but in a world where he got kidnapped himself, that would go so so badly for the kidnappers.

So incredibly badly. Like. There is simply nothing left of them.
