the best part about being an artist is that i’m able to draw characters suffering from the same exact issues as me.

and so, because my own joint pain has been flaring up, here’s a very self-indulgent drawing of legend wrapped in kinosio tape!

i took a lot of inspiration from risograph printing for this, which means i only used 3 colors on separate layers to make this. i think the individual color layers look pretty cool, so here they are :)

Something that I've noticed happening with the whole MarkGemma vs MarkHellyna ship war that seems to be happening is that that both sides seem to treat the other ship as like a crackship that has no basis in the show (obviously this is not a blanket statement its just something I've observed)

This fascinates me to no end because both of these relationships are like happening in the show simultaneously, and they are both super interesting (at least I think so)

Like with Mark and Gemma, the whole reason Mark Scout got severed was because of his grief over loosing Gemma. Then we learn that she's actually alive, and that Mark S works with her. This reveal completely re-contextualizes all of Mark S and Ms. Casey's interactions. Like the concept of there being versions of these people that oved each other deeply, but now they don't even recognize each other?? That's fascinating. Also Mark Scout's spent all of season 2 trying to get Gemma back, and we see that Gemma was trying to get back to him. We also see what their relationship was before Gemma "died", the good and the bad of it and can see why Mark so desperately needs to get her back.

Then with Mark and Helly we have these two people who are essentially trapped in hell who are able to find love with each other. Midway through season 1 you can see that there is something happening between them and then we get confirmation when Helly kisses Mark before the OTC. Then season 2 complicates things by adding Helena into the mix. We have this woman who has probably never really been loved before see that a version of her can be loved. I think there is some jealously there so she pursues this relationship when she is pretending to be Helly (obviously this is morally) questionable at best, but it is super interesting from a character perspective). Then we also have we also have whatever the hell is going on with Helena and Mark Scout.

At the end of the day, in Cold Harbor we see Mark Scout and Gemma reunite and it's obvious they still love each other (I think their reunion is the only time we really see Mark Scout smile). Then we also see Mark S choose to stay with Helly, because he wants to spend the rest of what could be his very short existence with her.

I truly don't know what is going to happen with these relationships in season 3. I can make some guesses, but I do know that neither of them are going to just disappear when the season starts.

TLDR: I think it's more fun and interesting to like both ships and engage with the story the story that is happening on the show.

actually as much as my bets are on bh, pencil might be one's next target. sure, bh saw the world almost end and is responsible for keeping it up now, but hes keeping it togheter for now. look at pencil tho. she's desperate. she wants to win bc her life literally depends on it. she throws members of her own team under the bus (or more of the remains of the freesmart van) just to save herself. just to buy some time, just a little more and she won't have to go back there. this target is a lot more worth. she would do anything just to win or perhaps just be safe from four. that is the type of target youre looking for
