Okay, let me fangirl a bit. I need to check more of DW. But context, my favorite enemies are the Cybermen. I already explained my reasons. But the TL;DR is playing the idea of humanity, and the consequences of taking our humanity away. (Also because I love robots)
So... Imagine my surprise and delight after finding out about Kroton the Cyberman.
He being a Cyberman with his emotions intact, and then his humanity... He's even willing to sacrifice himself in order to save others.
I ADORE this and I ADORE him!!
A Cyberman is awesome to me, but a Cyberman with Humanity turned on a LOT of my internal lights and making me say "Oh, this character is awesome!"
So... He ended up becoming my most recent Comfort Character. Yeah.
I need to check more about DW in general, and I don't know much about the comics. But yeah. I love Kroton.
(Random comment, but he could be friends with Duo from Mega Man 8. Considering they're both alien robots who fight for good. Or Kroton could be friends with Mega Man himself)

Loki after become the rullers of the Multiverse: *Broods dramatically*
Kroton the Cyberman: hey there Loki, name Kroton, welcome to the Multiverseal council. Everyone here rules a Multiverse I myself control all of the them as I control the omniverse. So how’s things?
Loki: *Looks baffled by*
I myself just find it funny that Kroton is still in charge of the Marvel Multiverse as well as the Doctor Who universe but neither franchise ever mentions it because marvel no longer has the rights to Doctor Who.

A Practice Cyberman and Kroton
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I need to draw better on my anatomy. But before the Cyberhaniwa, I did sketched these two bois.
The left one is a practice Cyberman
The right one with Kroton, is a WIP actually. I intended to draw Kroton with a Yukata. And his metal staff had an parasol attachment where he can put it at one end. I just wanted to draw Kroton! But I forgot about his chest unit, which could make it difficult to wear some clothing with it. I need to find a way to draw him wearing a Yukata.

He almost won the very big stick
Pretty sure the 3 faction paradox fans already are able to guess, but just in case heres what my scribbles try to depict in the third panel, left to right, top to bottom:
Sphinx from Dead Romance
Infinite Monkey Theorem
Random Dalek (shouty)
Kroton (not the Cyberman)
Dr Who (Peter Cushing)
Klein Bottle full of ancestor cells or something
Mammoth (Wooly)
Whale King (not amused)
In the original sketch i had a paper sign with "Reserved for Palladin Horde" but i lost the sketch and redid it
And giant invisible spiders, of course

DOCTOR WHO CREATURE/ALIEN/MONSTER SHOWDOWN MASTERPOST
64 species, 5 rounds, 1 winner. Who will be the Creature Of All Time?
Voting for Red Group Round 1 starts Feb 16, noon EST.
Qualifying criteria:
must be a species, not an individual. Species of which only one remain are okay, but this is judging the Creature Factor of the species as a whole, not how much you like that specific individual. ie. it's not about how much you like the Star Whale in The Beast Below, but rather Star Whales as a general concept
cannot be a human OR a mostly-human-looking alien. exceptions include the Carrionites and the Midnight Entity, because I love them.
must appear at least once on either Doctor Who (1963) or Doctor Who (2005). No EU creatures, sorry. No, not even from Torchwood or Sarah Jane Adventures. We have to cut it off somewhere. Also, Beep the Meep isn't on the show *yet*, so we're holding off until next year.

60 Years of Doctor Who Anniversary Marathon - McGann 2nd Review
The Company of Thieves: Comic
Tumblr media
The Doctor and his companion, Izzy, land aboard a space freighter right when it's being attacked by pirates. They must escape the space-faring mercenaries and get back to the Tardis, but along the way they confront a crazed scientist, a talking gun, and a Cyberman with a soul.
Tumblr media
This was really good. It's easily one of the better comics we've come across.
At the only three parts long the comic manages to keep up a brisk pace without feeling rushed or overcrowded despite juggling a lot of new concepts.
The best of these new ideas is Kroton, the Cyberman who can still feel. This is his introduction story and he really sells the comic. I'm actually interested in checking out more just for this character.
But that's not to say that the other characters are bad either. The pirate captain, his mutinous first mate, the insane hermit scientist, and his sentient gun; all mange to be really colorful and memorable in just a few short pages.
Ironically it is the mains, The Doctor and Izzy, who are the least interesting here, but they aren't bad. The Doctor is still the Doctor, and Izzy gets to be active and contribute to the story. She's just is a little generic here, but that's mostly because the story is focused on setting Kroton up as a new companion.
Tumblr media
The artwork is good. It makes good use of the black and white format to really create bold contrast and easily readable silhouettes without sacrificing too much detail.
Even if the Doctor does look a little insane in a few panels.
Tumblr media
But that's kind of part of the charm.

I don't know enough to say no to any of these, and I'm happy to include non-show doctors, but how many of these doctors actually have stories you can read or listen to or whatever to know what they are actually like?
I'm putting these all on the list for now but they might come off at some point

Since Kroton is pretty much God, I'm convinced that he's responsible of all Deus Ex Machinas. Especially the ones that help the protagonists and heroes. Because he doesn't want the heroes die nor fail.
He's a genuinely good (cyber)person like- The first things he did after ascending to Godhood is killing The Master and Sato/Morningstar, heal The Doctor and fix all the shit The Master did.
I may not know much about DW, but I'm convinced that Kroton is responsible of all Deus Ex Machinas.
If something happens to The Doctor and they get an Deus Ex Machina, I like to think that Kroton was like "Oh no, my friend is not doing well! I need to give them a hand in some way"
The Doctor should be grateful that they're friends with GOD. And God is a good emotional Cyberman with a lot of humanity.
I love Kroton so much. Okay?

Are you familiar with Kroton? He's basically a Cyberman who became a Kamen Rider.
yes!! In fact I somehow found out about him from a VERY young age and he became a bit of an obsession for me. He said 'screw logic' like once and I made that my catchphrase for ages. Good times

Ranking the 2nd Doctor’s Stories part 1
Been awhile since I did my ranking for the First Doctor Stories.  I meant to do the Second Doctor soon after, but time got away from me. And by time, I mean it took the better part of a year before I even got to rewatch/listen to these episodes.  The funny thing about the Second Doctor is that he’s one of my favorites; that being said, I can’t deny that so many of his episodes are just bases under siege.  But on with the list.
20.  The Space Pirates.  Not only is this, in my opinion, the worst Second Doctor story, I think it’s one of the worst Doctor Who stories period.  There’s just nothing to this and it’s pretty obvious, in some of the parts, that it was being shot around the same time as War Games as the main characters are barely there.
19.  The Krotons and The Dominators.  Both of these episodes feel dull and uninspired.  And honestly, I always have trouble remembering which one is which; which is why they are tied on my list.
18.  The Wheel in Space.  It’s an ok episode, but largely forgettable except for the fact that it has the Cybermen and it’s Zoe’s first appearance.
17.  The Underwater Menace.   It’s not as bad as that one scene seemed to suggest.  And I will give it props for the fish people (it’s a step up from The Web Planet).  Still, the story is just ok.
16.  The Seeds of Death.  It’s got the Ice Warriors, a villain that I’ve always liked. Still, it’s a base under siege story and, at this point in the Second Doctor’s run, it just has happened too many times to make this one feel special.
15.  The Mind Robber.  This one I had a hard time placing.  It isn’t particularly one of my favorite stories.  In fact, there are some stories already shown on this list I’m more likely to watch than this one.  However, I ended up putting this one slightly higher for the simple fact that this story did take more risks than a lot of the others.  Having the Doctor end up in the land of fiction, where the rules of reality are based on one man’s imagination, it is an interesting concept.  However, it feels like the story goes on longer than it should.
14.  The Faceless Ones.  Again, an interesting concept.  I did like the whole mystery aspect of why people were disappearing and then suddenly some reappear without seeming to know who they are.  That being said, the episode...well, there’s two things. One, the story is stretched into a six-parter, even though the story really isn’t enough for that many parts. Two, the fact that they felt the need to stretch the plot to make it fit six parts instead of, you know, giving Polly and Ben a decent send-off.  But I guess it’s better then what they did to Dodo.
13.  The Moonbase.  Another one that I had a hard time figuring out where to put on this list. On the one hand, it’s another base that’s under siege.  Also, slight points off for knocking Jamie unconscious for half the story.  I know that Jamie was a last-minute addition, so I do take that into consideration.  Still, I just find it to be lazy writing around a problem.  That being said, I do like how a lot of this episode is written. I like the fact The Cyberman have this horror monster quality to them.  I especially like the fact that we have someone who is reasonable running the base this time.  Yes, he is suspicious of The Doctor and his companions; but it’s not an unreasonable suspicion.  He’s willing to give The Doctor time to prove that they’re innocent and, when The Doctor ultimately does, the commander doesn’t suddenly decide to ignore the facts. It’s not that I think there shouldn’t be episodes with troublesome commanders (that would be unrealistic); but it seemed to happen way too often in this era.
12.  Ice Warriors -  Like The Moonbase, this is another base where there is a siege.  Still, this one is a bit different in that we’re also being introduced to The Ice Warriors.  I think the reason why this one just feels a bit different is because there’s a bit more time taken to explain who these beings are and what their ultimate goal is.  It does run a bit too long though (another issue with the Second Doctor era). Speaking of which....
11.   The War Games.  Why?  Just, why? There is so much to love about this episode: the mystery of the different time zones; the Warlord; the first real introduction of the Time Lords; and the regeneration.  However, it isn’t nearly enough for ten episodes and so we are just caught in time endless loop of catch and release and it just kills any tension this episode should have.
