"'Nothing Ever Grows' is a right moody geezer of a song. It was one of those songs that transpired really quickly and it just captured the essence of the mood perfectly. I think it stems from frustration with yourself when you can't finish that idea, or that lyric. It's an ode to the tortured artist. It's a splash of cold water, a slap across the face followed by a shot of whiskey. A defibrillating wake up call to say 'Hey, if you don't get yourself in a better headspace, nothing good or prosperous can come out of it', hence 'Nothing Ever Grows'. And I think that relates to every aspect of life, not just to creativity."

Marius - Smiling at people he passes by, and anyone he makes eye contact with. Esp if theyre scowling

Jack - Trying to bend and slouch to make himself smaller when he sits. Mixed results.

Eveline - Humming and singing to herself when she cooks or readies for bed

Lottie - Always wants to wear heels, regardless of weather. Keeps an extra hankerchief in her purse for Little Lottie.

Máire - Handles her things carefully and neatly. Cards, bedding, folding clothes, drinks, etc.

Malwina - Her ears and tail are extra fidgety when she's happy.

Slyvester - When he sits next to his wife, he's usually touching her in some way - knees touching, tails brushing, hand on a hand, etc. Doesn't realize he does this.

Little Lottie - Wringing things when she's nervous - it can look cute, even though she's distressed. And arranging things in neat rows when she plays. She has a little collection of marbles and small rocks she does this with.

Krooks - Clicking his tongue a lot, especially when giving finger guns. Also rolling his Rs for fun.

Ezra - When he's really cracking up, his laugh turns to a quiet wheezing.

Roxie - She has a cute face when she puts on make-up, if that counts. Then she goes back to smirking and scowling.

Flynn - Tough to say, but when he's restless or bored and too tired or irritated to bother keeping up the facade - like when he's with one of the working girls or MC - he has a habit of arranging things in a row. Pens, sugar cubes, coins, whatever's on hand. Just don't point it out.

Cora - Makes her coffee the exact same every day (black with 3 sugar), stirs it the same way (three times rapidly with a spoon), and sips it at clockwork intervals (1 sip per minute until cool, then 2 longer sips). If she makes someone else coffee, she drills them for the precise amount of sugar and milk. And makes it wrong on purpose if she hates them.

Krooked Tongue Release Enigmatic Debut EP "No Vacancy Hotel"

The Noise is Ones to Watch’s home for all things punk, hardcore, metal, hardcore you name it.

Bristol-based rock trio Krooked Tongue has hit the ground running with the release of their debut EP, No Vacancy Hotel. After the cancellation of their second UK tour and the postponement of shows alongside bands like Dinosaur Pile-Up and Turbowolf and festival slots at Boardmasters and 2000 Trees, the band instead spent the last year creating an attention-grabbing rock record. Honing on a more refined studio sound with Josh Gallop of Phoxjaw at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, they worked to replicate their formidable live act into a four-track EP that oozes with intensity.

"Vampyre" is a strong opener that showcases the band's unique and catchy style. "I think 'Vampyre' was probably the most fun to record, especially messing around with sub-basses.” The track's suffocating fuzz from guitarist Dan Smith envelopes listeners as bassist and vocalist Oli Rainsford chimes in with his alluring vocal style.

"Freaky Love" exudes sex appeal with its threatening bass notes, hypnotic hooks, addictively heavy riffs, and lust-filled lyrics "Ooo all your freaky love, yeah it turns me on / All that weird love, you're a freak and more," chants Rainsford in a throaty, soulful murmur. It employs a more playful, funkier edge in Harry Pritchard's drums. Smith's guitar twinkles like a hidden gem, underpinning the vocal melodies while bursting through the cracks to not overstep its mark and oversaturate its tempting tease.

"Swarm" is an infectious and methodical track with a sing-along chorus and wild instrumentation. Its depressive, moody vocal tones set the scene for two wayward teenagers to fall in lust with one another in the midst of a cigarette smoke-filled room, finding comfort in their shared sense of hopelessness and impending doom. "I'd say I hold the lyrics to 'Swarm' in pretty high regard in terms of my songwriting," says Rainsford. "I think that song was one of those cases where the writing process flowed seamlessly, and those lyrics are somehow more relevant now than ever."  

The title track closes the record by ramping up the band's playful nature while systematically breaking down defenses with its sharp melody and harder, punchier grooves. Guitar solos weave through the mosh-inducing song, making it the perfect finale for any live performance.

Now that touring and live performances have reopened, Krooked Tongue plans to kick off their year with a headlining show in their hometown of Bristol and look forward to lining up shows in the UK and the US where they can perform the new record live. "We can't wait; it's gonna be a wild one! I know we all have different favorites from the EP to play live, shares Rainsford." Mine is 'No Vacancy Hotel' because it's the grand finale where we just get to go crazy and get the crowd moshing. Dan's is 'Freaky Love' because he has some really fun guitar parts that play on the offbeat, and Harry's is 'Vampyre' because he gets to puncture holes in the drum kit!"

I just really like the fact that Fearne, very feely and unabashedly, thinks that Ashton is beautiful. Fearne has already shown to be outspoken creature; what pops into her head is most likely going to come rolling off her tongue at any second and as such, what she thinks of you is going to be the honest truth.

And because of that, what she says to Ashton is genuine.

She's said it three times (technically four if we're going to count "I don't see hell."---"Hell to some, Heaven to others." ) now that Ashton (and by association the things around Ashton) is beautiful.

Once when he was speaking on his history with Hexum and the Nobodies, the other when speaking about his sparkling opal head-wound.

"I think you're sort of beautiful." -> About him, specifically.

"It's just very pretty." -> About their head-opal.

the last being when Fearne peered into Ashton's opal and called the energy swirling around inside beautiful and calm. (I apologies if I got this wrong; I don't live-watch the episodes. I usually wait till Monday to watch. What I know comes from live-bloggers)

Ashton is beautiful to fearne. Fearne, a fauness woman who comes from, arguably, the most beautiful place within the Exandrian planes of existance. She comes from the feywild, a dream-like world filled with animals dripping flowers and vegetation, sayters and dryads and fae creatures who have lived for centuries; High War Queens and Archfey and mushroom sprites. Centuries-old forests and color changing grass feilds.

And yet, it's the foul-mouth, rude, crass rock man-thing with purple gemstone hair, green skin, a milk-white eye, and a partially cracked skull with a sparking opal and gold scars that she finds beautiful. That she finds the most intriguing.

They're real in the sense that there's nothing influencing their appearance or personality. With the feywild, yes its beautiful and fearne truly loves her home for what it is, but it's the magic that gives it its strangeness.

Everything she's seen in the feywild doesn't compare to the uniqueness of Ashton Greymoore. They're crass, rude, lacking any sort of emotional-nuance; they speak their mind however they see fit, not nessisarly caring how people react to them (unless it's Hexum or FCG). They have a hard time trusting and making friends, and everywhere they go, they go with a pessimistic view of the world, as if one wrong step in any direction will result in some sort of bad thing happening to them.

The amount of years Ashton has (supposedly) had to watched others around them get adopted or taken someplace better than Greymoore has filled them with enough bitterness to last several lifetimes, and the years since the nobodies abandoned them for dead has turned their heart cold.

He lies, he steals, he cheats, he curses. He’s everything that a well-off (supposedly) royal-born feywild woman should not want to be associated with.

And yet this 6'3'' fey women dripping in botanical flowers and covered in stolen knick-knacks, who's constantly being told she's gorgeous and intriguing and exotic, who pals around with a monkey that breaths fire, thinks that the punk-earth-genasi kid from the streets who hobos'it around their friend Milo's home in Krook House is beautiful.

She likes him for who he is. Even if he can’t see it clearly right now.

Colson’s fingers are threading gently through Rook’s hair when he gets the idea.

“You should let me fuck your face.”

He doesn’t mean to say it out loud, his lips just move on their own. Maybe it’s the weed they're smoking, maybe it’s just how irresistible Rook’s wet little pout looks while the drummer scrolls through Instagram on his phone. Colson can’t be sure which one provokes it, but one thing he is certain of is how hard his dick twitches at the immediate flushed look his comment inspired.

The almost shakey eye contact they’re making just emphasizes how hard the brunette is trying not to look at it. “Kells…”

“Cmon, I’ll be quick,” Getting to do it fast for once will be half the fun. “I’ll take care of you after too, promise.”

Just as quick as Rook looked at him in the beginning, he looks away. Eyebrows furrowing and lips pursing again while he tries to focus back on his phone screen. “No way dude, I’m not trying to die sucking a dick.” Colson doesn’t miss the way Rook’s fingers tense when his thighs flex again. “And, w-we gotta hit the head soon anyway. I told you this morning if you wanted to fuck around we shoulda did it back at the motel-“

“I wasn’t horny back then,” And besides, with how late they all stayed up partying the night before it was a drowsy rush to leave this morning. He doubts Rook would have actually agreed to let him do anything in lieu of eating breakfast.

"Yeah, well tough." The drummer's cheeks are coloring pink, one of his small tatted hands rising up to try and slap away the one in his hair. "I'm not sucking you off in the middle of the bus, everyone's here-"

Colson rolls his eyes and drops his palm down to scratch through his bandmates undercut. Long legs kicking out to stretch and adjust some of the tight fabric across his crotch. "And? They're all asleep." Even if they weren't it's not like any of them would care. Ashleigh maybe, she hates walking in on sex shit, but Baze and Slim are used to seeing him and Rook fooling around by now. Tours are long, and Colson's not going to pretend they collectively haven't all fucked each other at some point anyway. Drugs can lead to some crazy decisions.

Though, Dub is one who will make a big fit if he catches them. Colson can still hear his screams of eye purity and attacks on his love for pussy from the last time.

"Asleep is where we should both be too. Jerk off in your bunk or something-" Rook moves to get up, but Colson's fingers drop down quick enough to catch the drummer by his tee. Plopping him right back against the bench before he can get far.

He's not finished trying yet.

"C’mon babe, that's not gonna feel anywhere as good as with you. Besides, we'll both sleep better after we've both come once." This time Colson dips his head down to bring their bodies a little closer. Breath fanning over the shell of Rook's ear as he talks. "I'll do that thing with my tongue that makes your legs shake. Always sleep good after that, don't you?"

Eating Rook out in the middle of the bus sounds hot too. Colson can just see the brunette's legs up in the air, arms reaching over his head to hold onto the shitty bench seats back. Whole body shaking from how hard he's trying to stay quiet.

"What if...what if they wake up?" Rook's palm pushes at his thigh, grabbing but not exactly squeezing just yet. Colson can feel the flush heating up his face just from the way the ear between his teeth warms.

He knew Rook wouldn't be able to say no to that.

We were continuously getting stuck in traffic and he kept apologising that he couldn’t get me to where I was going quicker, despite me telling him it was absolutely fine and not his fault. The conversation led to him telling me about how badly some passengers had treated him and that he was considering quitting. I ended up kind of being a life coach for the journey and reassured him that he was a nice bloke and he was doing a good job. Hence ‘Backseat Therapy’. Taxi, this one's for you!”
