I’m so ill thinking about the fact that Apollo was essentially abandoned by his adoptive father at 9 years old, and clearly never found another constant family by the fact that no one is ever mentioned. So until he was an adult, he was bouncing around the foster system.

And then he finds Gavin Law Offices and, based on the little interaction we see, we know he had a very deep respect for Kristoph, and that he was obviously treated very well.

I think about the fact that Apollo probably found him to be the closest thing to a father figure, or any kind of trustworthy mentor, for the first time since he was literally nine years old.

I think about how he probably held him in such high regards, he probably went to his work every day looking forward to doing literally anything to make his boss proud.

I think about how fucking crushed he definitely was when he found out how horrible and corrupt Kristoph actually was.

Imagine how he is trying to grapple with the fact that someone so evil treated him so tenderly and fondly.

Imagine, even further, he later becomes very close with Klavier and immediately feels guilty whenever Kristoph is mentioned. Not because he is responsible for his imprisonment or anything, but because he knows Kristoph potentially cared for him more than his own flesh and blood, and Apollo only knew him maybe a few years in comparison to the 24 that Klavier had been alive.

Imagine how awful that feels to be loved by a monster.

The real loss of Capcom putting Kristoph in the basement is that we can no longer get any more scenes or context about the weird gay shit he and Phoenix had going on. I think they painted eachothers nails and shotgunned cigarettes together during the late hours and explored eachothers bodies once or twice, you know what I mean. I just feel like we could have had a scene where Phoenix talks about him in passing and says some shit like how when they drank together they only used one glass between the two of them; both because they were close and because it guaranteed to Phoenix that he wouldn't be poisoned by Kristoph if they were using the same glass, and then apollo looks at him like he just said he kissed his old boss with tongue. I just think it would be funny, you know

I had originally written out the explanations for my friend whose only knowledge of Ace Attorney comes from my incessant ramblings and live reactions in our DMs as I play, but I didn’t want to have to type out my explanation, so I’m just including it here. I apologize if anything is unreadable 😭

my favorite ace attorney characters and what I head canon their middle names to be

apollo - jovie. his mom got to pick his first name.... and jove picked his middle name.

kristoph - mortium. I rlly like the sound of it and also it has the root word "mort" which means death in latin and... yeah. ium indicates a metallic element and like. blood tastes like copper, no? idk but its mainly about the "mort" root part. sounds classy and a little bit pretentious, like kristoph

klavier - audium. its a theater name, yes. "aud" is a latin root word that means "to hear" or "to listen." he's musical, duh, but also I think it fits his character well. in aa4, really, that's what he does: listen. he listens to and trusts kristoph wholly in the beginning. also, literally, they listened to lamirior's song ike a million times and they listened (before the trial) to guilty love to figure out where the missed cut was. the name sounds like autumn. I think klavier is an autumn child. it also matches kristoph's middle name. they're doomed siblings, entwined fates, etcetera blah blah. that now post I need to dig up about aa4 being about what you hear instead of what you see lamiroir being blind and only able to hear what happened in turnabout serenade, apollo's loud ass voice, klavier's whole rock band thing, phoenix speaking up about kristoph n stuff, and just that resent theme. you can't trust what you see [ ex. forged evidence ] in favor of what you hear [ ex. witness testimony and such ]. idk I feel like it fits. this was a bit ramble and tbh I made it up last minute but now I like it enough to use it

trucy - aiko. japanese name. means love child, apparently, based on my sources (Japanese girl baby name website). anyways trucy is a child born of love. her first parents did love her, truly. her dad wore a necklace with a. picture of her all those years after leaving. her mother..... uh, no comment im pretty sure lamiroir does love her kids but she just. can't deal w/ them rn. (pretty shitty she's waited so long if you ask me but hey, I'd probably need a bit after getting all those memories back too. again, no comment.)anyways, despite her dad straight up LEAVING and stuff, he does love her. he left her in good hands--with phoenix wright. now here's where I really mean this name is important. the father-daughter bond between trucy and phoenix is, I think , unrivaled. allow me to explain. phoenix took her in and, clearly, at first, he was nervous. he thought it was a temporary arrangement. replay aa4, you'll see. I just can't find the screenshots rn. you can see how deeply he began to care for her though and it literally melted my heart. she accepted him as her dad, too. and they stuck with each other all that time. they're the father-daughter duo and you can't convince me otherwise. I love thinking about the wright family.

Thinking about how canonically Kristoph has some repressed trauma that is in some way linked to why he killed Smith. And how the tipping point was Phoenix getting chosen over him. And how Kristoph is implied to have been controlling over Klavier to some degree. And how Klavier has major perfectionist tendencies both when it comes to music and also when it comes to law if it’s in front of Kristoph.

I need more details on these guy’s backstory cuz so much of this just makes me curious. Personally I think that the parents knew something was up with Kristoph and majorly favoured Klavier. Cut to Kristoph getting all jealous and being controlling over Klavier. I also think Kristoph and/or their parents had pretty high standards which is why Klavier has this perfectionist complex. Possibly why Kristoph also holds this presentation of perfection
