Analese Huang had worked really damn hard these last years to feel like a person again. A real, breathing, alive person. There had been more than a few times that she'd stumbled. More than a few times she'd hated what they'd done to her, bringing her back. She'd finally been at peace.

But life moved on. The last thing she thought she'd ever be doing was running the Institute (or 'Institute 2.0' as she insisted on calling it. They were going to be different this time). Life underground wasn't so bad either. They were safe enough and could still fight. Although, the last 6 months had been hell. The loss of Karen...

Anyway. When Ana was alerted to the presence of Kristin Montgomery in Havensdale, she had her agents bring her down to the underground bunker right away. Her heart was in her throat waiting. Maybe it had been too long now... And there was still so much Ana hadn't shared with her. Maybe she wouldn't love her anymore.

Hearing a commotion, Ana turned on her heel and forgot to breathe.

"I felt like it was the best way to be helpful. I'm not a doctor or a witch or a police officer. But I can do this," she explained, looking around at all the people helping out. It made her feel better to see she wasn't the only one trying to help her home. "Thanks so much. If you think of anything else we can do, please let me know. I'm all for any new ideas. Kris set the box down on the table Natalie had pointed to, offering a small smile. "Thanks for organizing all this. I know it’s a lot of work, but it’ll make a big difference." She adjusted her sleeves, glancing over toward the area designated for the blood drive. "I’ll get myself set up there and help with whatever’s needed." Pausing for a moment, she added, "The first aid kits are a great idea; something small but practical people can take with them. I’ll make sure to mention them while I’m working. Let me know if you need a hand with anything else once things get busier.

Lennon was skipping through the back house on her way to Franks' bar when she ended up intruding on... whatever was going on here. She placed a dramatic hand over her heart when the blonde said 'you'. "Me?"

She hesitated a moment before coming to meet her where she was, looking her over. There was definitely something going on here. Big FeelingsTM were radiating off her and... Ah. Lennon clocked the grave behind them then and started to put the pieces together. At least, as much as she could.

"You're gonna have to be more specific than that, honey. What's going on?" she asked. She eyed the grave again and then back to the blonde- "You looking for a ghost?"

Kristin Montgomery stood frozen, her breath hitching in shallow, uneven gasps. Shaken was an understatement—she felt as if the ground beneath her feet had given way, leaving her to teeter on the edge of a bottomless abyss. Her hands trembled uncontrollably, betraying the storm raging within her, and her wide, tear-brimmed eyes glistened like shattered glass in the pale moonlight.

The sight before her was something out of a nightmare. The grave, which she had visited countless times in her quiet moments of mourning, was no longer the solemn resting place she remembered. It was desecrated, dirt heaped in chaotic piles, and the coffin lay open and disturbingly empty.

Her mind raced, colliding with thoughts that made no sense and emotions she couldn’t untangle. Shock, grief, anger—all of them churned in a relentless tempest. But amid the chaos in her head, one thought refused to form: Ana could be alive. That was impossible. She had seen her lover’s lifeless body laid to rest with her own eyes.

And yet...the empty grave mocked her certainty.

“You.” Kristin’s voice broke through the silence, low and hoarse, trembling with a mix of desperation and fury. She turned, her gaze locking onto the silhouette of a figure lurking in the shadows. She couldn’t tell if it was a friend, foe, or something in between, and in that moment, it didn’t matter. She needed answers.

“Have you...have you seen something?” she asked, each word trembling as it left her lips. Her voice was raw, cracking under the weight of emotions she couldn’t suppress.

The figure stepped closer, their features obscured by the darkness, but Kristin didn’t flinch. She was too far gone, consumed by the need to know. The unknown stretched between them like a chasm, but she pushed forward, refusing to let fear take hold.

Her mind screamed for clarity, her heart pounded with the force of a drumbeat, and still, the silence lingered. Every second felt like an eternity as she waited for the stranger’s reply, her body tense with anticipation.

Whatever the answer was—friend or foe, truth or lie—Kristin knew one thing: the world she thought she understood was slipping further and further out of her grasp.
