listen, im obsessed atm. please ignore this incredibly specific headcanon post okay love u

taichi - he only started playing bc hikari insisted. idk he likes the fishing, tho!! he eventually marries abigail bc she, like agumon, will eat most anything.

yamato - he plays a bit in between his classes and thinks that the farming is really relaxing. he eventually marries penny bc he thinks she is sweet. (his character coincidentally looks like sam)

sora - she is gradually getting addicted to stardew valley and spends waaay too long picking out names for her farm animals. she initially tried to romance sam, but switched to shane bc she felt bad and wanted to help him!!! (her blue chicken is named “frosty”)

koushiro - koushiro knows of stardew valley, but he definitely doesn’t have time to play it. plus, watching his friends develop parasocial relationships with pixels is a little concerning. he does help miyako create mods for it, tho!!

mimi - she is obsessed!! she wishes the flower dance were every month and that the pretty colors of spring and summer could last forever. every festival, she spends all of her money on decorations. as soon as possible, she bought the furniture catalog at robin’s and spent HOURSS decorating her farm, house, AND the town. (linus has a little sitting area now!! the mines have flowers all in the entrance!!) she will marry haley every single time. they have two beautiful kids!!

jou - he literally has no idea what the hype around stardew valley is about, but he has seen the harvey thirst traps on tiktok and is happy the public are appreciating healthcare workers!!

takeru - npc interactions are his favorite, tbh. he does his best to give everyone gifts they like, except demetrius. he doesn’t like workaholic fathers for some reason. also, he wishes he could talk like elliott in real life without sounding like a sociopath.

hikari - she has played for over 300 hours. she has a fully functioning farmstead on ginger island and explores skull cavern for FUN. she has well over twelve save files- one for each bachelor and bachelorette she wants to romance. (elliott has been her fav so far - his poetry!!! his rizz!!!)

daisuke - he yearns for the mines.

ken - ken enjoys stardew valley, but only plays casually. (he just wants to have something in common with the others so that they can all talk about it.) he likes maru so far and has formed an attachment to his in-game cat named “miso”.

iori -he likes watching over daisuke’s shoulder as he plays, laughing whever a slime kills him in the mines.

miyako - a leah stan for life. the only thing she loves more than her wife is the DRAMMMAAAA and LORE these characters drop on a random tuesday afternoon. abigail’s heritage?? miyako is SCANDALIZED. alex’s entire exsistence? she is SAT, tissues in hand.

Digimon Adventure: 2023 - The newborn chronicles 1/?

Since approx three weeks, I'm head deep into diapers, broken nights and feeding sessions, trying to navigate through life with a newborn. All the while, coming here feels like this could be both my escape from and way of dealing with everything. So I might as well throw in some drabbles about my faves during pregnancy/labor and/or with newborns! Don't expect too much shipping or even shipping at all, just these mofos being newborn parents and not knowing sh*t about all of this.

Episode 1: Taichi & newborn Souta, pt. 1

"Well, just kill me now..."

He said as he exhaled loudly, his hands desperately buried in his hair that seemed wilder than ever before. The bags underneath his eyes in combination with the messy hair and stinky boxers indicating the lack of sleep and showering.

A small piece of Taichi hoped his wife would hear him sigh, wake and come to his rescue. The biggest piece, however, wanted to let her have a peaceful night after all the tough ones she already had and show her he could actually do this by himself.

Thing was he wasn't sure how to.

He reached for his phone on top of the dresser, next to his one week old son. Their eyes met, one set of brown eyes expectingly piercing through his own pair.

"I'm sorry I'm letting you wait, I just... I just need to be sure. So stop looking at me like that."

Taichi's eyes quickly moved from the baby to his phone, scrolling through the names in his contacts.

If he'd call Hikari, or Sora, they would immediately mother and scold him for not knowing "anything". They were an easy skip.

He could call Yamato, but the scenario in his head made him skip his friend faster than lightning.*

Jyou could be useful knowledge-wise, but he'd probably be in a night shift and too busy picking up.

Mimi wasn't an option either, feeling she would leave him with unuseful anecdotes about her traveling life and more questions than answers.

Takeru he felt too awkward to call and Daisuke was simply a hard no.

That left him with one last option. And even though Taichi wasn't sure about that person's knowledge regarding this specific topic, he was sure that he would help him in the best way possible.

"Taichi-san?"

Plus, the voice on the other end weirdly soothed him.

With his gaze fixed on his son's overly yellow-brownish body, Taichi started rambling.

"Koushiro, you've got to help me. What do you know about changing diapers and cleaning one week old babies after they covered themselves in their own poop?"

Koushiro Week 2022 - Day 5: Please Help, Confiding & Confidence/Everyone loves Koushiro

Summary: Koushiro realizes work is taking most of his time and decides it's time for a change. Little did he know venting would bring new opportunities for him. Tentomon walked into Koushiro’s office carrying an empty tray to gather all the Oolong tea bottles his partner drank during the day. He had gone back to the phase he worked all day and night, despite Tentomon’s protests. “Koushiro?” The Digimon said calmly. “Koushiro?” The man shook his head and looked at his partner. “What?” “Don’t you think you’re overworking lately?” “Overworking?” “That’s right. Just before they had moved to Odaiba, Koushiro had woken up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. His parents’ voices could be heard through the thin crack of the open door.

Koushiro’s real father, who was a distant relative of Masami Izumi, was a university lecturer and genius mathematician. His wife, Koushiro’s real mother, was an assistant professor, but despite having such a promising future, they died in a car accident almost right after Koushiro was born. Around the same time, the boy that had been born to the Izumi couple had died young from illness. When asked if they could take Koushiro, it was Yoshie who had accepted first.

Zoro & Sandai Kitetsu

There is something that was bugging me about Zoro’s swords for a long time and now, the Wano arc helped put thoughts in proper perspective. Namely four out of five named katanas used by Roronoa are, in fact, a heirlooms; a burden of someone’s else dreams or ambition or honor that Zoro (consciously or not) carry on while Sandai Kitetsu is the only one sword truly and just his. Because the same as the sword was chosen by Zoro, Zoro himself was chosen by Kitetsu,

The best known Roronoa’s sword, Wado Ichimonji in fact belonged to Kuina who died the night after she and Zoro made a promise that one of them must become the world’s best swordsman. He begged Kuina’s father to gift him with her sword and to honor Kuina’s dream, he created an unique fighting style - Santoryu.

Zoro could just replace one of his swords with Wado and yet Zoro’s fighting style is a fusion of his two-sword style trained since childhood and one-sword style used by Kuina. Which is his way to stay faithful to a promise made between them and maybe a promise between him and Kuina’s father too. That way Kuina - represented by Wado - gets stronger with each of Zoro’s fights and with him, one day will become the best swordmaster. Zoro has carried on her dream since childhood and in fact, their shared promise is both a great motivation AND burden. What was noted by Mihawk  (What burdens you so?) and something Zoro himself was well aware (“I may only have three swords, but the weight of our swords are completely different!“).

Wado is as much a memento of his deceased friend as much a burden to carry on alone. It’s Zoro’s most precious sword and at the same I think it will never truly belong to him. Wado was and always will be Kuina’s. He was not chosen by the great katana - he begged for that  sword and it was given to him by Kuina’s father. Because Zoro cared so much for their vow, when Koushirou dismissed Kuina’s dream when she was still alive. Koushirou granted the precious katana to a determined boy, so his daughter’s dream (and which it, a part of Kuina) could live on.

Wado is Zoro's most precious possession, but it is a “borrowed” katana that never truly was meant for him. It was Kuina who should carry on the white katana. Zoro only carried it in place of her, because she never had truly a chance to spread her wings. Thus, Wado is a memento, a shared dream, a burden and second chance (for Kuina, and maybe for Koushiro too). 

Then we have YUBASHIRI, given to Zoro by Ipponmatsu in Loguetown

Ipponmatsu freely gave Zoro this katana as an apology for looking down on him, once Roronoa proved how well skilled and strong willed swordsman he was by testing his luck against cursed blade. The given sword served him well, up until Enies Lobby, where Yubashiri was destroyed by marine captain Su, a man with devil fruit power of rusting.

Ipponmatsu did not tell Zoro that Yubashiri was in fact his own family heirloom - something pointed out by shop owner’s wife:

but once questioned about the decision, Ipponmatsu asked back “what is wrong with a man entrusting his dream to another man?!”

what implies that Yubashiri, like Wado, carried inside someone’s else unfulfilled dream of greatness.

In Thriller Bark, Yubashiri was buried alongside remains of Brook’s first nakama while its place was taken by SHUSUI.

Shusui was a black sword that belonged to legendary samurai, Ryuma. In Thriller Bark it was wielded by Ryuma’s zombie (with Brook’s shadow) and once Zoro saw the blade, he wanted it for himself, to replace destroyed Yubashiri and was willing to take it from the enemy's dead body. Though the fight was relatively short, Zoro’s skills were acknowledged by Ryuma and in result, Shusui was given to pirate.

Zoro honored his opponent by taking sword and being willing to pretend the match never happened.

Similar to Sandai Kitetsu, Zoro both chose a sword and was chosen (accepted) by the blade. But unlike Kitetsu, Shusui, as the most precious treasure of Wano country, couldn’t truly belong to him. The katana served its master well and Roronoa appreciated it very much, but since Dressrosa arc, he was constantly nagged by people of Wano to give it back. He didn’t care for their complaints and did not plan to do so, yet once asked by Kozuki Hiyori to return it to its rightful place, Zoro finally agreed. Because in the end he respected the dead swordmaster and how much the black sword meant to people of Wano. It was a sacred symbol, a heirloom of legendary samurai Ryuma while he was an outsider. Although Zoro proved his worth to Ryuma zombie, the sword (and Ryuma’s body) was stolen in the first place and Hiyori was willing to give up memento of her late father (personal treasure) for Shusui (a national relic). Such sacrifice proved how much Ryuma’s sword meant to people of Wano and Zoro, despite his claim, returned the black blade to where it belonged - asking only to let him visit Ryuma’s grave once the battle is over.

Shusui was another heirloom, a sword burdened by past and its meaning. It served Zoro well, but it couldn’t truly belong to him.

For returning Wano’s national treasure, Hiyori promised Zoro no less great katana - ENMA.

A legendary sword given to Hiyori by her late father, Kozuki Oden that is said to be the only blade that even injured Kaido. A wonderful gift, but the same as previous swords, it is someone else's heirloom passed to Zoro. Another memento of a dead person. Another burden to carry on. 

While Zoro trained with his new sword, Tenguyama Hitetsu (the creator of Sandai Kitetsu) told him the story behind Enma - Oden’s sword and Kuina’s Wado were birthed by the same man, Shimotsuki Kozaburo. Who, ironically, is Kuina’s grandfather according to SBS. What Zoro may have known now, since he did met Kozaburo as a child.

Anyway, Hitetsu assumed that Hiyori perhaps recognized Wado and because of that offered Zoro her heirloom as a replacement for Shusui. I personally think the reason was more selfish than that. Once Zoro saved her, Hiyori said there was a prophecy that “in time of the resurgence of the Kozuki line, strong, kind samurai from across the seas would come to our aid” and Zoro fits perfectly. Even more, since Zoro’s hometown, the Shimotsuki Village is in fact strongly connected to Wano by Kozaburo no less.

Hiyori, as Oden’s daughter, wants Wano to be a free, safe country again but for this to happen, Kaido must be defeated first. Zoro already proved to be a reliable ally. He came To Wano with her missing brother and Kinemon. He saved her and Toko from Orochi’s assassin and later, from enemy attack once the fight broke out after Yasuie’s death. He is strong (something she saw for herself) and to some degree has the samurai feeling about himself. 

Above everything else, Zoro will fight in the upcoming war against Kaido for the Kozuki clan even though he (like all Straw Hats) has no real obligation to her family. Whether she believed in prophecy or not, by passing to Zoro her family heirloom, Hiyori burdened him with her hopes and dreams for victory and justice for her murdered parents and for Wano country as a whole. She gave an outsider Oden's precious sword that can injure Kaido and by that, placed faith in Zoro. She can’t use the sword, she can’t fight in battle, but Zoro will carry on Oden’s (and her) wish to protect Wano into battle. 

Was Zoro aware of such a possible burden? Who knows. Still, he accepted the blade despite its dangerous nature - and any eventual burden (someone else’s unfilled dreams and hopes) to carry on.

Frankly, Enma and Sandai Kitetsu have a lot in common. Both are dangerous blades that drive weak swordsmen into madness and/or ultimately lead to their death. Both need to be tamed. And Zoro likes them very much, despite warnings of other people. Even manga presents their “introduction” as accepted and appreciated swords by Roronoa in similar way:

Yet there are two major differences between Kitetsu and Enma, what also are true for the three previous swords too.

First, already mentioned and explained the matter of heirloom and connected to that “burden” Zoro carries on alongside. In the case of Enma, once the battle is over and Wano saved, all the faith and hopes put in Zoro by Kozuki Hiyori through the Enma should not burden him anymore. Yet since Hiyori entrusted him the memento of her father, Roronoa will need to make sure to never bring shame to her (and by extension, the Kozuki clan) in later adventures & fights he will face one day. But frankly, this is the same with all of his swords bestowed to him by people who were important to him or which he shared mutual respect. It is strictly connected at core to sword fighting philosophy; to be worth of great blade.

Secondly, Wado Ichimonji, Yubashiri, Shusui and Enma, all those swords are desired and appreciated by swordsmen all over the world while Kitetsu, as a cursed blade, was not wanted. Kitetsu was feared by people, put in barrels between low quality swords in hopes to get rid of it. Even sword maniac like Tashigi, once learning the truth about the katana, did not want that blade despite its high grade and low price on it. She was even sorry for insisting previously Zoro should take it. Kitetsu drove previous owners into horrible deaths to the point “you will not find a swordsmen who’d dare to use a Kitetsu these days”:

Zoro felt that the sword was cursed, before Ipponmatsu had a chance to explain why Kitetsu had such a low price on it. And after learning the horrible truth, he decided to take the blade. The unwanted, bloodthirsty, cursed blade that brings madness and death because no one else would dare to use it. Zoro liked the challenge. Oh, he liked it so much he decided to test his luck (fate) against the curse of Kitetsu, putting his swordmaster future at stake.

The same as Zoro chose Kitetsu, the sword chose him. Like Ipponmatsu said, the sword chooses its owner. And yes, Zoro wanted to have Wado and Shusui but these blades were heirlooms burdened with someone’s dreams and greatness while Kitetsu was the unwanted, dangerous blade with a horrible past that Zoro faced only with his own strong will. No hidden promises to carry on, no ambitions or honor or hopes passed on him by previous owners. No legendary status to live up. Like Wado. Like Shusui. Like Yubashiri. Like Enma.

Sandai Kitetsu is this wild, bloodthirsty sword that was challenged by Zoro and decided to spare this insane man who looked at it, felt the cursed nature and did not throw it away but appreciated it. Something that, I imagine, didn’t happen in years. And there is very strong bond between Roronoa and Kitetsu, because Zoro always can tell apart the cursed blade from other swords

and he kept Kitetsu usually in left (dominant) hand during fight. All those little details give the impression Kitetsu is much more spiritually connected to Zoro’s core than Wado.

In short, Sandai Kitetsu was the only masterless sword Zoro picked solely by and for himself that did not burden him with sentiments, past promises or hopes. And though the sword was “problematic child”, its demonic nature seems to suit Zoro’s own very well.

Awkward story time. So, I had begun writing chapter 13 of “The fantastic adventures of Takeru Takaishi” (AU story, kind of weird and difficult to explain the plot) and, after writing three pages of Koushiro angst, I realized that I had already sort of established in chapter 9 a different death for Mr. izumi, so... I couldn’t actually include this whole part in chapter 13 because it would contradict chapter 9.

But I already wrote the whole scene and can’t just erase it now. Well, I can, but I don’t want to. Anyway, if anyone wants some out of context AU Koushiro angst (and a bit of taishiro angst, maybe), I’ll just leave this here.

When he was fourteen years old, by his calculations, Koushiro had dreamed about Mr. Izumi riding his favorite horse, Thunder. Then, the horse got frightened by a snake... Mr. Izumi fell from the black horse, hitting his head on a nearby rock.

He woke up, shaking. Although he had been having nightmares like those every night since he had resurrected, that had been the first time it had involved someone he knew. Masami Izumi, the kind elderly man who, along with his wife, had allowed him to live in their farm since he was rescued from the ocean... Koushiro had just seen his death.

“Save the people you'll see be wronged. Show me that you're not another selfish human being.”

Justine's words echoes in his mind. He had to save him! But how? Koushiro had never told the Izumis about his past on Shrimp Island, about how his parents were killed and he fell from a cliff, much less about how he met Justine and gained the ability to see the future. He couldn't just tell them the truth, he couldn't... they wouldn't believe him... who would believe in such a story? Nevertheless, he had to do something!

That night, he went to the stable and freed that horse. Koushiro watched as the animal trotted towards the horizon. That should be enough. He had saved Mr. Izumi's life.

The next morning, Koushiro woke up to only find Mrs. Izumi at home.

“The Kurosawa boys came here earlier, they said they had seen Thunder on the open fields. Masami must've forgotten to close the stable last night,” she explained. “Masami went to retrieve him. He should be back soon.”

As dread filled him, he ran past the woman and left the house, not answering when she asked where he was going. No, please! No! Don't ride that horse, please! Koushiro begged, mentally. Maybe if he ran fast enough, he could find Mr. Izumi in time. He could still save him!

However, before Koushiro could take twenty steps, he saw old man Kurosawa coming in his direction, pulling his white horse by the saddle. On the horse's back lay the corpse of Mr Izumi.

As Mrs. Izumi screamed and ran towards her husband, Koushiro felt as if all his strength had left him.

“Masami was already on his way back with Thunder when the horse got scared by a snake,” old man Kurosawa told Mrs. Izumi. “It all happened too fast, there was nothing anyone could do... a true tragedy!”

He had done that... Koushiro was the one who had caused that... he had a vision of a tragedy he would be responsible for... in trying to save Mr. Izumi, Koushiro had killed him. Never, in his entire existence, had he felt despair like that.

The funeral took place that afternoon. Overridden by guilt, Koushiro remained silent the entire time, not responding to anyone. Not even Taichi's words, nor Hikari's, were able to reach him. Koushiro couldn't hear anything, he couldn't see anything. His mind kept replaying Mr. Izumi's death over and over again, and he kept repeating to himself: I killed him!

He wandered off, not noticing that Taichi and Hikari were following him. Until he felt someone pulling on him and pressing his body against the ground.

“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU IDIOT!” Taichi cried, on his back; he was the one pining him down. It was when Koushiro looked ahead and noticed where he had been heading.

“I was... walking towards that cliff?” Koushiro asked no one in particular. “I was going to fall...”

Again.

Taichi turned Koushiro over to face him. The other was crying profusely.

“Don't you ever do this again! Don't you ever scare me like this again!” Taichi shouted. “Promise me you'll never do something like this again!”

“Mrs. Izumi can't be left alone now,” Hikari told Koushiro in a serious tone. “She already lost her husband, she can't lose you as well! If you don't think of yourself, then think of her! Do you want her to suffer more?”

Koushiro tried to speak, but found himself unable to. All his words were lost, replaced by grunts of guilt and desperation. He felt as his eyes got flooded by tears. There was nothing that could stop them from falling down.

Taichi sat up and pulled him up, to a tight hug.

“We're here for you! We'll always be here for you! You're not alone!” Taichi told him, trembling.

Hikari got close to Koushiro and whispered in his ear:

“What happened today was inevitable. It wasn't your fault. I know you were just trying to help him. He knows that too.”

After saying that, Hikari stepped back, showing Koushiro a sad smile. Hikari knew... he didn't know how, but she did. And she was telling him that what had happened hadn't been his fault. Hikari was mysteriously wise, she knew things nobody else could know. If she was telling him that, it had to be true.

“I'm sorry...” Koushiro said, hoping that Mr. Izumi could hear him. “I'm so sorry!”

Hikari held one of his hands and told him:

“You are forgiven.”

Just like everything else, I will probably not gonna write this, but just to put the idea out there:

Mimi knows romantic words aren't Koushiro's thing, after years being with him she understands that, so she wasn't about to turn their wedding day into a stressful situation to him.

They were simply going to use the traditional wedding vows.

But Koushiro knows how Mimi would love the chance to pour her heart to him in front their friends and family. So, to make his wife-to-be the happiest in that special day, he garanteed her that writing their pledges would be the best idea.

Now less than a week 'till the Big Day, however, Koushiro looked at the blank Google docs and questioned to himself why he had done that.

Who I think would take whose family name in Digimon pt 1

Since 1 of my first posts was me sharing my headcannon that Yamato would be the one adoption Sora’s name, I decided to list some of the Digimon parings I ship who would adopt whose surname upon getting married. For some context, married couples in Japan are required to have the same surname and while it is much more common for the wife to be the 1 to adopt the husband’s surname, it is not unheard of for the husband to adopt the wife’s surname. To determine who would be taking whose surname, I will be asking myself the following questions:

1. Does the wife come from a prestigious family?

2. Is either half of the couple the last in their family line?

3. Do either of them have a career that would warrant keeping their surname (scientist, actor, etc)? I may need to rely on a head-cannons a bit for this one.

These r only some of the pairings I ship and I plan to discuss the other pairings in a different post. 

Adventure

Mimi and Koushiro- Figuring out this one is a bit tricky compared to the others. While the 2020 anime version of Mimi come from a prestigious family, that doesn't seem to be the case in original anime (at least not to the same extent). According to the epilogue, both have careers that would make it logical to keep their names, with Izzy being a researcher while Mimi is either a nutritionist or a celebrity chef (who also apparently dabbles in fashion design according to Kizuna). However there is one factor that makes me lean toward Mimi being the one to adopt Izzy’s name (at least legally, I can still see her using her maiden name professionally)- As revealed in episode 38 of Digimon Adventure, Izzy’s biological parents died when he was a baby and his adoptive father was his bio dad’s last living relative while his bio mom did not have any family at all, so Izzy is almost certainly the last in his family line. Thus I think Mimi will adopt the Izumi name while still going by Tachikawa professionally. Or maybe Izzy will adopt the Tachikawa name and they’ll name their daughter Izumi. 

Takeru and Hikari- The Yagami family doesn’t seem to be particularly prestigious, and since Taichi is still around, he’s probably got the “carrying on the Yagami name” thing handled. Thus, Hikari being the one to adopt Takeru’s surname seems more likely then the reverse.

Xros Wars 

Taiki and Akari- Based on the typical reasons a man might adopt his wife's surname, there doesn't seem to be any reason for Taiki to be the one to take the Hinomoto name. Akari has 2 brothers, so he Hinomoto name probably wouldn't die out if Akari adopted the Kudo name. Taiki and Akari also seem to be relatively equal interns of social class. I’m not really sure what Akari would do for a living. While I sometimes head-cannon her as growing up to become a physchatrist, I also consistently head-cannon Taiki and Akari as getting married shortly after the latter graduates from college or sometimes even right after she finishes high school (either way she'd probably begin her career using the Kudo name). 

Kiriha and Nene- While Hunters showed that Nene became an idol singer and actress (two careers where it is common for women in said professions to keep their maiden names), Kiriha is implied in the show to be the last of the Aonuma family (if his backstory of being alone after the death of the parents is anything to go by). Thus, similar to Mimi and Izzy, I believe that if Kiriha and Nene were to get married, Nene would legally change to Aonuma so the Aonuma name doesn't die out, but continue going by Amano professionally (partly to avoid confusion, also because they initially want to keep their relationship a secret from the public as some fans can get pretty crazy when it comes to the love lives of celebrates. Look up how fans reacted to Mamoru Miyano announcing that he and his wife were having twins if you don't believe me).

Digimon headcanon: Taichi, the king of braiding (and the others being impressed)

I'm working on a WIP that's been living in my head for way too long now and then this list of headcanons rolled out of me. Also thanks to Sanni @seventeenlovesthree.

When Taichi was younger, he always watched his mother braiding Hikari's (short, yes I'm aware it's short, but let her hair be braided) hair. Yuuko saw how much just watching calmed Taichi, so at one point she decided to teach him.

Ever since learning how to braid, Taichi became a pro. He watched little tutorials on television showing all different kinds of braids which he tried on Hikari and even his mother. He made them swear though they wouldn't talk about it to anyone!

But then there's Sora. Sora compliments Yuuko on one of her braids when she comes home with Taichi after soccer practice. Yuuko doesn't think and straight up tells it's done by her son. Sora doesn't believe it and makes Taichi proof himself. He makes her the greatest braid ever. Sora is in love with it, but doesn't admit it. Taichi is now in love with Sora's hair, but doesn't admit it either.

(Remember that one time Sora wore a braid in Tri? It's secretly Taichi's.)

Also remember that one time Taichi, Yamato and Koushiro took the 02 squad camping as a facade? Taichi totally braided Yamato's hair in his sleep and made Koushiro film it. Yamato is mad (but he's also quite impressed with Taichi's skills to make his rock-n-roll hair look so... soft)

Of course now everyone knows about Taichi's braiding powers and once Mimi takes notice... Like a true princess, she claims Taichi as her personal braider. Peak Mimi and Taichi bonding ensues.

Joe is also impressed and secretly asks whether Taichi can teach him, since he wants to bond with his secret girl crush bike girl.

Takeru also becomes one of Taichi's apprentices. He's really good at it. Taichi asks Takeru to braid his brother's hair whenever they have a sleepover. Takeru is all here for that.

Miyako would claim Takeru as her personal braider, because "Hikari-chan and Mimi-san already have Taichi as theirs. I need one too!"

Daisuke is really impressed by his senpai's skills and decides to surprise him by becoming an autodidact. He knows Jun will never let him touch her hair, so he goes to Ken, who gladly accepts.

No matter Taichi's life partner/spouse/wife/husband or whatsover: their kids will own the most beautiful braided hair in the world <3

Joker is so hard because honestly my favorite ship is him and his wife from that one backstory where he was a failing standup comedian and things went wrong. I feel like you can just do whatever with Joker so I'm saying his wife. I love fluffy Harley and Joker but things never stay fluffy....😑

Bluebird Azurite needs Navy Ruby, she's the mastermind they need to be truly evil. Navy and Aquamarine is still a fav ship of mine and this polycule is perfect. Eyeball, Aquamarine and Navy together could take over the world. Boss ass bitch squad.

Jessie and James I thought of Lucy, though she's technically a good guy she is a strong willed woman that will watch and wait, also snake fan. Her level headed nature with a silent fire is a good balance to the passions but rarely well thought out nature of the other two. Gee James how come you get two femdoms

For Melony I don't have a romantic/sexual ship for her but I think a great friendship would be her and Pheobe. Both are rather "contrary" to what you expect for being users of their types Melony is warm and has mom energy but ice is considered an aloof type. Phoebe is friendly and energetic but ghost is considered chaotic and depressing. Depending on Phoebes age Melony might mother her. But both are affectionate and would spoil each other's pokemon. Good vibes here.

Piers x Raihan x Leon, Leon and Piers got that older sibling dynamic they probably had to help raise their Lil sibs and can bond over that. Leon and Raihan got that good vibes, it's a common ship and the energy of Leon and Raihan is good for Piers. The ship is called 'fashiondisastershipping' and yeah that checks out.

Cynthia and Elesa feel like they'd have a nice relationship. In masters ex Elesa comes off as a woman that looks 'stuck up' but is a big ol softy inside, fashion is how she is creative and she's all smiles when you get her talking. I don't have Cynthia in the game but that's basically how I see her. Especially since she gives the player a togepi egg a pokemon that is highly associated with friendship. Cynthia is fashionable imo, she's fashionable in that all black palette way. A good third would be Olivia, fashionable with a hard outside and soft sweet inside.

Sabrina and Morty are just my pet ship. I'm cheating a little but stick with me. They both are psychic actually, in the games both mention seeing the future. Morty uses his training to hone his psychic skills and Sabrina is connected to her pokemon psychically. They could relate to each other over the frustrations of having incomplete visions and the risk of living in the future and not the present.

And the fact that Haunter was what made Sabrina laugh in the anime was so cute and iirc anime morty could understand what his pokemon were saying, and Sabrina still has her connection to her pokemon, they both cultivate a deeper understanding than what the average trainer can achieve with their pokemon.

They are going to be slightly out of step with the people around them, so why can't they walk together?

Izzy x Mimi is probably my favorite ship for Izzy. Nerd x fashionesta, mimi would make him get away from his tech more often and Izzy would show her really niche topics that would get her curious and excited. A bit of a opposite attract in just the best ways.

I got inspired by this fantastic fanart to write this. I love Sora so much, so this is my love letter to her characterization and development.

“Have you done Takeru’s task yet?” Sora was frustrated. She wasn’t the best writer, but she surely wasn’t a bad one. So, when Takeru asked her to write something so he could get inspiration for his novel, she thought it would be easy. That until he told her the specifications for what she had to write.

“What are you taking about?” Yamato was being cocky, which made Sora roll her eyes.

“You know what I’m talking about! And if you keep acting that way, I won’t tell you how delicious that smells,” he stopped cooking for a second, long enough for him to kiss Sora’s cheek, and rub her growing tummy.

“That’s not necessary, because I can always tell you love my food,” he had also become a better cook since they found out Sora was pregnant. He had said he wanted their baby to have fancy taste buds. “And to answer your question, yes I have finished Takeru’s task.”

“When…”

“Like a week ago?”

“But that is when he asked us to do it!” Sora could not believe Yamato had written his task and hadn’t told her. “Can I read it?”

“You know Takeru asked specifically for us not to share whatever we wrote.”

“When have you cared about what Takeru asks?”

“Sora…”

“But I’m your pregnant wife!” she could blame her hormones for being a little more dramatic than she usually was, but again, she was frustrated.

“She would be incredibly proud of you, you know that,” the redhead nodded, but she didn’t know that, she didn’t know that at all.

“I’ll try to finish it before dinner,” and so, she walked to her studio, that would soon become the nursery room, and sat in front of her computer, in front of the white page who had been staring at her as if she had committed a murder.

Because she was looking at her own reflection against the white screen, and she wondered if her 11-year-old self would even be able to recognize herself. Because that had been the task all along, to write a letter for her 11-year-old self, which sounded easy enough…

… if she hadn’t destroyed every dream she had when she was 11.

She had always saved a framed photo of the first time they had gone to the Digital World. She used to have it on her room, but then switched it to the studio since it was the room she spent the most time at anyway. And since they were turning it into the nursery, she had decided it would be fitting to keep it there.

She looked at herself in that picture, with her blue hat and yellow shirt. Her bright eyes and naïve smile.

“Would you be disappointed?” her eyes filled with tears, because she could remember vividly all the dreams and aspirations her young self had. And becoming a fashion designer was not a part of them. She wanted to be a soccer player, one that could become so great she could play it professionally.

… but she also wanted to become closer to her mom, learn about the books her dad loved to read and be friends forever with Taichi and Koushiro, and the rest of the gang after she got to meet them. That camp was supposed to last for a week, but she had always had the feeling it would end up changing her life.

“Every step I took, ever since we came back to the Digital World, led me to who I am today,” she started writing, the first full sentence she managed to complete ever since Takeru had told them about their task.

Takeru, of course, had been completely secretive about what his novel was about. They knew it had something to do with the Digital World, but whether it would be fiction, or autobiographical, they had no idea. Not even Yamato, not even Patamon.

“You won’t believe it, but you are about to become a mom!” She pictured her own mother, elegant, exquisite women. Her hair was closer to white now, than when she was 11. But she remained beautiful, she remained perfect. And she had always seen her mother as perfect, even when they weren’t on speaking terms. “Don’t worry, you and mom are close now, no one is more excited about this baby than she is, well, after Yamato.”

She had married Yamato, the blonde, shy boy she had once doubted she could even become friends with. How crazy was that? Her pre-camp self never saw herself getting married, but she would’ve probably believed she would end up with Taichi, or even Koushiro. Yet that camp trip had changed her forever. And every step she took was a step on the right direction.

“No matter how many times you think you are never going to see Piyomon again, you will end up seeing her again. Time after time. She will always be your biggest cheerleader.” The world had never been more connected, everything had something smart in them, even the fridges! So Digimon could travel freely. Both Piyomon and Gabumon visited at least once a week.

“You have never been happier, and I’m so proud of you. I hope you are of me,” she cleaned her last remaining tears before saving the archive and standing up from her chair. She had done it; her letter was done. August 1st was the day after, and Takeru had asked them to bring their letters to their yearly reunion. Everyone knew how important August 1st was, the day a glitch went into camp and they ended up in an unknown world. Everyone had to attend their yearly reunion, no matter in which part of the world they currently were in.

“How did it go?” Yamato was waiting for her with the table ready and the dinner warm. Sora wasn’t sure how long she spent writing, but she sure was hungry.

“I finished it!”

“I’m so proud of you, you know?”

“And now I know she’s proud of me, too.”

Michi Week 2022 - Day 7: Coda

Days: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Title: Parents² Characters: Mimi Tachikawa, Taichi Yagami, Takato Yagami (OC), Koushiro Izumi and Hikari Yagami. Summary: Mimi has some news for Taichi while they plan Takato's second birthday party. When Taichi arrived home from work that night, he found his nearly two-year old son riding the tricycle he had gotten from Hikari on his first birthday. He couldn’t help but wonder why Takato was alone in the living room, since Mimi always kept an eye on him after he started crawling and then walking. “Hey, son.” Taichi picked him up and turned him around. Takato’s shirt didn’t go unnoticed by the ambassador, who raised his eyebrows with confusion. “Big brother? What’s that… Mimi?” “What’s wrong, honey?” Her voice echoed on the house and she couldn’t help but smile before he even walked into their bedroom. “Why is our son wearing a T-shirt that says ‘big brother’?” “Isn’t it obvious?” She said without making eye contact with him, her smile turning into a grin. “He’s going to be a big brother.” “What? How’s that even…” “Didn’t you find the tiny sweater by the door?” “No.” He placed Takato on their bed and went back to look for the clothing. He found it at the right side of it. Taichi bent down to pick it up and a note fell from it. He grabbed it and then returned to his previous position, unfolding it. Congratulations! You’re going to be a square dad. “So it’s for real?” He turned to Mimi again, not quite sure how he was feeling at the moment. “I wouldn’t lie or joke about something so special like this.” Mimi finally looked at him. “It’s for real.” “I’m so…” Taichi sat on the bed and Takato immediately jumped on his arms, completely interrupting him. “Papa, play.” “Do you want to play?” “His caretaker said he didn’t sleep at all this afternoon. I’m surprised he’s still full of energy.” “Let’s go, papa.” The child got off the bed and grabbed Taichi’s hand. “I’ll be right there, son. Papa is talking to Mama right now.” “That’s okay.” Mimi smiled at him. “We’ll talk about it when he goes to bed soon.” “Are you sure?” “I am.” She nodded. “He misses his papa.” “Alright then.” He leaned over his wife and kissed her briefly. “I really want to talk about it.” “We will later on.” She cupped his cheeks and gave him another brief kiss. “We also have to plan his second birthday party.” “Okay.” “Come on, papa!” “I’m going, Takato.” Taichi held his hand tight and they headed to the living room. “Honey?” Mimi called him from the bedroom. “Don’t play with him for over an hour, okay? He still needs to shower and eat.” “Got it. Koushiro typed furiously on his keyboard while facing his computer. He was trying to analyze the fragment of Eosmon that he had retrieved. “How is it going?” Tentomon asked, standing next to him. “Nothing to speak of yet,” Koushiro answered, looking away from the monitor briefly to rest his eyes. With his mind off work, he recalled the words that Menoa had spoken to them earlier that afternoon. His face clouded as he remembered the rings on Taichi and Yamato’s digivices. “Tentomon, have you ever heard of ‘the candle of life’?” “What’s that?” Tentomon asked, tilting his head. “It’s a rakugo performance about the grim reaper. The reaper has a cave where they overlook the candle of life for many people. The protagonist learns from the grim reaper that the length of that candle represents that person’s length of life.” “Huh. The candle represents the person’s length of life…” Tentomon repeated doubtfully. “Yes. When the candle’s light goes out, the owner of that candle dies. The protagonist’s candle was in a precarious situation, so when the protagonist saw that…” Koushiro trailed off. “What did he do?” Tentomon pressed impatiently. “What do you think he did, Tentomon?” “Oh now, don’t be mean! Just tell me!” Koushiro smiled at Tentomon’s reaction. “The story actually has various endings. There’s one where the protagonist uses the candle next to his to extend his own life and it turns out to be his wife’s candle, or he puts a fallen candle back up and it turns out to be his sick younger brother’s, or there’s one where the flame goes out while he’s mulling over what to do.” “Uh-huh… Sounds like getting a happy ending is quite the high hurdle,” Tentomon said, shaking his head. “I can’t help but think of that ring of light as the candle of life.” Would his own digivice bear the same ring of light that was on Taichi and Yamato’s digivices, one day? Just imagining that he would eventually be facing that problem made him feel bleak. Koushiro gazed at Tentomon. “What kind of ending would you like, Tentomon?” “Let me see…” Tentomon paused in thought, then looked up.

“Instead of taking things from people against their will, I’d much rather give what I have to them before my end.” “…Me too.”

Koushiro and Tentomon looked at one another and broke into smiles. Koushiro faced his monitor once more and went back to work. This time, with the belief that it would be the first step in breaking down this current state.
