[W]hen you go to Adoration, you give a special gift to your guardian angel. Their whole mission is to bring your soul to Jesus. [...] Take a minute in Adoration to thank your angel for their prayers and their constant, steadfast help, and maybe even offer a prayer for their intentions.

Mall nostalgia is nostalgia for a moment of strongly felt American dominance––the specter of online retail is not just the loss of public shopping, but its replacement by retailers who engage largely in drop shipping products from China. White American nostalgia is neurotically fixated on social constructions that are imagined dead even as they become stronger and stronger. These nostalgias become a mechanism by which its practitioners eliminate or challenge remaining threats to hegemony. And so, what is the ethos of society inscribed by the tragedy of the mall?

Faith in Jesus Christ places us in the Kingdom of God and places us in conflict with the kingdom of the world. Without faith, we cannot please God; we can only please mankind. Faith in Jesus Christ is the key issue. Is He really the center and focus of all that we are and all that we do?

The mall provided a testing ground for the state of public sociality many young people find ourselves in now. This state of sociality is birthed by the suburbs’ planning, and accelerated by “stranger danger” mentalities, helicopter parenting, the increasing share of 18-to-29 year olds who live with their parents, and rising rates of social anxiety. Public gathering, instead of being a site for serendipitous connection, is a way to rehearse out interaction with a group of people you already know from somewhere else (maybe school, or work, or Tinder); attempts at connection from those not already deemed “safe” are an interruption to this psychodrama.

Topic: Use of cognitive strategies in media.
The cognitive strategy in media in its general sense is a set of messages that the institution formulates in a way that is consistent with its goals and then directs it to the target audience to achieve the best results.
Media organizations realize the importance of the concept of a knowledge strategy in the media because it is the mechanism through which it follows certain steps in sending what it wants to the public by soliciting their emotions and dazzling them with words that attract attention and increase their interaction with them and that ultimately achieve their interest.
An example of this is a television channel displaying an announcement about the issuance of high-efficiency conditioners; this announcement does not publish in vain without a goal and advance planning for it; a company for example will study the characteristics of the target audience and the target market in terms of their financial ability to purchase this product and what are the times The occasion for launching this announcement, as time has an important role, as the advertisement It will not benefit if it’s displayed in times of winter.
Many ads contain phrases that sometimes don’t coincide with the product itself, for example: an energy drink, Red Bull, spreads the phrase (strengthens muscles).
As a media person, I should not believe these phrases, but I must understand what its aim is and I study this product to see how true this phrase is, Then I give my opinion about it. The term strong muscles has been mentioned to attract consumers to buy a red bull drink, and basically an unhealthy red bull drink causes many diseases.

Cognitive strategies in media
ID:121035
Date:18 / 2 / 2020
Media students are the most students needing to learn cognitive strategies because they use effective intellectual strategies to interact with the public.
It does not matter whether the media is small or large, local or international. Successful work, if simple, must be based on a successful strategy.
Examples of these cognitive strategies :
-Data collection.
- Store and analyze information.
- Produce new ideas.
- Problem Solving.
- Identify causes and consequences.
- Evaluation of options.
- Planning and setting goals.
- Monitoring process.
- Make decision.
Effective thinking is the product of evolutionary and cumulative processes. It indicates the actual power exercised by the media message, which has led to a change or reinforcement of the beliefs of the public or the individua
The uses of cognitive strategies are long and short term, depending on the type of audience received. It also depends on the type of media message. Changes in attitudes and perceptions of the media are occurring. Cognitive strategies contribute to the development of the media. Use strategies to quickly transmit information. This contributed to increasing the influence of communication and their perception of the media.
One must use cognitive strategies in order to properly handle the media. By understanding the media and analyzing its purpose. Monitor strengths and manage risks resulting from the media. It is very important to study all the possibilities and contingencies that may face the implementation of the strategy and put in place mechanisms and ways to confront it. Follow-up and evaluation of the various media outlets in order to benefit more from them. Reducing the negative effects of the media. Strategies must be used and used properly in order to obtain important information or useful information from the media.

19th January >> My Daily Eucharist - Reflection for Roman Catholics.
After Communion today, Jesus told me how much He desires to come to human hearts. "I desire to unite Myself with human souls; My great delight is to unite Myself with souls. Know, My daughter, that when I come to a human heart in Holy Communion, My hands are full of all kinds of graces which I want to give to the soul. But souls do not even pay any attention to Me; they leave Me to Myself and busy themselves with other things. Oh, how sad I am that souls do not recognize Love! They treat Me as a dead object."
"Oh, how painful it is to Me that souls so seldom unite themselves to Me in Holy Communion. I wait for souls, and they are indifferent toward Me. I love them tenderly and sincerely, and they distrust Me. I want to lavish My graces on them, and they do not want to accept them. They treat Me as a dead object, whereas My Heart is full of love and mercy. In order that you may know at least some of My pain, imagine the most tender of mothers who has great love for her children, while those children spurn her love. Consider her pain. No one is in a position to console her. This is but a feeble image and likeness of My love."

THE HOLY SACRIFICE OF THE MASS IT'S MEANING AND SIGNIFICANCE The Holy Mass is the highest form of worship. It is the sacrifice of Calvary renewed. The Mass is not just a way to remember Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross. It is the same sacrifice of Jesus, re-presented (made present) under the sacramental sign of bread and wine….it is the sacrifice that Jesus offered on Calvary, present in the consecrated bread and wine of the Eucharist." In the Holy Mass, it is Jesus Christ, God, as well as Man, Who is your intercessor, our Priest and our Victim. Being God-as well as Man-His prayers, merits, and His offerings are infinite in value. In the "Truth About the Eucharist," published by Liguori Publications(1996), Reverend John Dowling states that "In the Mass the Catholic faithful, moved by and united in the Spirit, proclaim the mighty deeds of God in Word and in sacrament; the Liturgy of the Word and sacrament is the foundation and apex of Christian worship. This celebration is not an attempt to manipulate our God; rather it is a Spirit-filled encounter with a God who comes to us in his Word, feeds us with bread from heaven, and quenches our thirst with the cup of salvation. But what is most significant at the Mass is that when the species (the bread and wine) are consecrated by a priest or bishop, Jesus becomes really and truly present. We call this the Real Presence. It is no longer bread and wine, but really Jesus Himself. The substance (what the thing is) of bread and wine is changed into the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus, even though we can still see and taste the accidents (what we see or taste) of bread and wine. [Taken from the booklet "The Little Catechism on the Holy Eucharist," Catholic Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska, 1995] Pope John Paul II says, "Our participation in the Eucharistic Sacrifice should deepen our desire for the whole human family to come to the light of the faith... It should inspire us to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all those who do not yet believe in Him." We who are God's children by faith and baptism share in Christ's priesthood. In the Mass we join our High Priest in offering the Sacrifice of His Body and Blood. With the whole Church we unite the offering of ourselves and of all created things with Christ's offering to the Father. We adore God, we thank Him, we atone for our sins and we ask Him for help. The Mass nourishes us with the Word of God and the Body and Blood of Christ. In Holy Communion, Christ comes to our souls to give us a fuller share in His Sacrifice and unite us more closely to Himself and to one another. Why We Should "Go To Mass". There are many reasons why we should "go to Mass." It is hoped that one or another of the following reasons will motivate us to a better participation in the Eucharistic celebration. 1) Since the work of our salvation is commemorated and continued in the Mass, gratitude demands that we take part in the Eucharistic liturgy. 2) Christ saved us, but he did not intend to save us without our cooperation. The purpose of the Eucharist is not only to renew Christ's sacrifice, but also to join the sacrifice of ourselves to his, in order to indicate our desire and cooperation to be saved. 3) If we believe that Christ redeemed us, we should desire to publicly profess this belief by taking an active part in the Mass which continues his redemptive work. 4) Since Christ distributes his redemptive graces most abundantly in the Mass, it is necessary that we should come into vital contact with him in the Mass, in order to receive all the graces he desires to impart to us. 5) At Baptism we have received a share in the divine life, but we need Jesus in Holy Communion in order to maintain and develop this life; for, as he said: "I tell you most solemnly, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in you" (Jn. 6:53). 6) Through Baptism we share in the priesthood of Christ. The function of the priesthood is to worship and offer sacrifice. Hence, it is our vocation, privilege, and duty to offer the Eucharistic sacrifice. 7) Only perfect worship is worthy of the heavenly Father, and only the Mass is perfect worship. Not even the greatest amount of prayers, recited with the greatest devotion, can come close to the value of even one Mass. Finally, some may say, "Why should I go to church? I can pray anywhere, and I can pray by myself." True, we can pray anywhere and by ourselves, but we should also worship with others because through Baptism we have become members of the Christian community. We should go to church in order to receive Holy Communion which is necessary for our spiritual life. We should go to church because, aside from a few exceptions, we do there something which we do not do anyplace else, namely, offer the best prayer, the best form of worship, the holy sacrifice of the Mass. (Rev. Maynard Kolodziej, "Understanding the Mass", Catholic Book Publishing Co., NJ, 1998) General Intercessions of the Eucharist. The Liturgy of the Eucharist is the great act of intercession of the Church. By interceding, the Church exercises her role as Bride of Christ, reigning and ruling with Him. Like the queen she is, the Church intercedes with her all-powerful King. I can offer the Immaculate Victim and in union with Him I can offer myself. As a royal priest I can offer my whole being - body, soul, and spirit. I can offer "always and everywhere" even the least of my sufferings, or rather especially my little sufferings, because those are often the only ones I have. In union with the Immaculate Victim, the Eucharistically offered Victim, the eternal Priest and Victim, Jesus Christ, Who offered Himself on Calvary for the salvation of us all - in union with Him my smallest offerings become His and so of the greatest worth and power. These little sufferings are so precious we should not waste them, but rather offer them in union with the one eternal sacrifice going on this very moment in thousands of Masses around the world. Always and everywhere I can offer up the present situation. Nothing is too small to offer, nothing insignificant when offered Eucharistically, when offered in union with Jesus for the salvation of souls to the glory of the Father. It is called intercession. We are all called to it. (Rev. George W. Kosicki, C.S.B. "Intercession Moving Mountains Eucharistically," The Riehle Foundation, PO Box 7, Milford, OH (513) 576-0032 ) It is a common practice to limit our prayers to petition. This is a mistake. While prayer of petition should not be forgotten (for in it we beg God for the favors of which we stand in need), we owe God, first of all, adoration; secondly, gratitude. We can never thank Him sufficiently, though we were to employ eternity in so doing, for the innumerable gifts, material and spiritual, temporal and eternal, which He has bestowed upon us. Life, redemption, our Catholic faith, preservation from grave sins, the grace of conversion, health, relatives and friends - these are but a few of God's gifts. Let us rejoice, therefore, to thank God by means of the Holy Mass. After adoration and thanksgiving comes atonement. Prostrate at the foot of Calvary's cross, down which the most precious Blood of Jesus Christ flows from His gaping wounds, we should beg pardon for our sins which have thus nailed Christ to the cross. Let us ask Him to pour His precious Blood over our souls that they may be cleansed from their polluting stains. ("Eucharistic Vigil Guide," prepare by Apostles of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 4th printing, June 1977)

Has our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Redeemer become deeper? More personal? More trusting? More committed? More faithful? Each of us needs to examine our own hearts in this matter. But it seems that the criteria for judging our faith has become the extent of our social involvement with "great causes" rather than a greater union with Christ Jesus as the source of our life and power.

"A fully realized exemplar of the new transnational European history, this breathtaking new book goes far beyond the impressive feat of crossing borders and uniting East and West. Piotr Kosicki tells a fascinating and unexpected story about the relation between Roman Catholicism and the search for the just society beyond liberal terms, and charts how that search faced impasse across the most turbulent decades of the twentieth century, while also pointing ahead to the end of communism. The results make for a memorable and stylish entry in political and intellectual history. In the depth of its research and the success of its narrative, “Catholics on the Barricades” is a superlative achievement."

HOLOCAUST REVIVED
Hitler had his Jews. The world swore it would never happen again. Unfortunately, it has happened somewhere many times since World War II.
Always an authoritarian despot.
China’s bad guy is Xi. Germany’s Jews of yesterday are China’s Uyghur Muslims of today. The Chinese have disliked and disapproved of the group for years.
In February 2016, I wrote as part of a blog China’s involvement in human organ sales. Big time!
Most of the organs being sold by China were removed from the live bodies of Uyghur Muslims. Generally anesthesia not used. Most died on the operating table while the removal was being done. Their bodies thrown into incinerators. Those still living were thrown with the already dead into the incinerators.
Gruesome!
In yesterday’s blog, I referred to Chinese organ harvesting. Actually merely in passing.
This morning an article concerning China’s treatment of Uyghur Muslims. Totally incidental.
A Chinese official appeared on a sunday morning BBC news program. He was shown a video taken one year ago in China at a railroad station. The scene terrifying.
A huge group of Uyghur Muslims could be seen kneeling, handcuffed, blindfolded and heads shaved. They were waiting to be put on a train and taken to “reeducation camps” or “detention centers.”
Most to be murdered in one fashion or another. Simple execution or organ removal.
Shades of the Holocaust!
Secret police in Portland. Trump’s military. Different from Hitler’s Gestapo.
A comment to yesterday’s blog made an astute observation. Those in Germany at least knew who was arresting them.  In Portland, not.
Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire world wide. Especially in the U.S.
The U.S. has 4.5 percent of the world’s population and more than 25 percent of the world’s coronavirus cases.
Since the first U.S. coronavirus death in February, 1,000 people a day have died. U.S. deaths now exceed 140,000.
The U.S. leads the world in number of cases and deaths. Not a record to be proud of.
The nearest competitor to the U.S. re deaths is Brazil. The U.S. has more than two times the number of deaths than Brazil.
Florida a disaster. I write of Florida specifically since it is the State of my residence.
Florida has had 10,000 plus new coronavirus cases for 5 consecutive days.
Forty five Florida counties have no more ICU beds. All occupied. Monroe County my home has 9 ICU beds. All occupied.
Numbers reveal the problem better. Florida has 6,252 ICU beds. Presently occupied, 5,035. A mere 19 percent of ICU beds left available at a time when Florida’s number of cases is spiraling upward.
Unquestionably, Trump is the blame for the bad situation the U.S. is in. He refused to acknowledge the seriousness of the virus and provided only minimal assistance.
Trump is not done in failing to do what should be done.
A new coronavirus relief bill is before Congress. Supposedly this week is the one where Congress will do what ever it considers right and then send it onto the President.
Trump wants to remove remove significant funding from the CDC and NIH. He also wants to remove ALL funding for testing and contact testing. Zero funding!
He’s crazy! Inept and incompetent! Fails to understand the needs of the people. Hurts way more than he helps in every respect.
Finally, the Trump/Fauci relationship continues to deteriorate. Trump says, Fauci is an “alarmist.” He seeks to destroy Fauci because not only does he speak truth, but he speaks truth to power. Something very few do today.
Two unusual occurrences reported this past week. Babies born with coronavirus. Not supposed to happen. A surprise.
One was a baby born in India. When doctors became aware of the fetus’ coronavirus condition, a premature caesarian was done at 36 weeks. The baby has recovered and is doing well.
The other involves triplets born in Mexico. Two have recovered. The third continues to have breathing problems and remains on a respirator.
The affluent in our country do not seem to want to help the less than affluent as they once did. The issue unemployment benefits.
The number of unemployed bcause of coronavirus is astronomical. In the first stimulus package, the unemployed received $600 a week in addition to their unemployment check. The program ends this week.
The Republican Senate wants that number dropped $200-400.
Will hurt big time. A drop in the bucket. $600 was a help. Made being unemployed less hurtful. It costs money to feed a family, pay rent, etc. Something Trump and his Republican cohorts do not understand because being poor not part of their lifestyle.
Those receiving stimulus assistance require every penny.
Protests and demonstrations becoming commonplace. All over the U.S. Seattle and Portland still in the news. New York City entered big time this past weekend.
People are not happy campers. Those participating and those not. Our country is screwed up. The people have had it. Whether the protesters are right or wrong is immaterial. The end of the line has been reached. They want to shout out what they deem to be the wrongs that have accumulated in our society.
Trump no help in putting out the fires. He continually fuels them.
A history of adverse policing contributing to the protests.
“Secret police” in Portland no help.
The U.S. not the only country having protest demonstrations. Russia, too.
Russia periodically has them. We do not hear either because the Russians keep it quiet or the U.S. media opts not to tell us.
Recognize that Putin has not been in a secure position for at least 5 years. Russia has economic problems. Coronavirus ones also. Russian young are maturing and do not agree with their elders as how things should be done. Putin an “elder.”
Recently, a demonstration occurred in a Russian government entity called Khabarovsk. Involved was an election for governor. Sergi Furgal won. Long a Putin adversary.
He was arrested soon after his election for multiple murders that occurred some time ago. His arrest 2 months ago. Following the arrest, he was immediately flown to Moscow.
He has been in jail the entire 2 months.
The people of his area are upset. Apparently Furgal is respected and liked. The citizenry believe his arrest based on phony charges. They want him released. Before he is killed!
The key to this Russian story is that the demonstrations have occurred several times and the numbers protesting. Each time, tens of thousands.
Trump is not the only one having problems.
A without thinking act of heroism. An off-duty Florida police officer jumped in the water and pulled a boy away from a passing shark.
Cocoa Beach Officer Adrian Kosicki was was walking the beach with his wife. He saw a 10 year old boy boogie-boarding. At the same time, he saw a shark approaching the boy.
Kosicki ran into the shallows off shore. People yelling “shark” as he ran. He grabbed the boy and dragged him through the surf to shore. The shark was “dangerously close” as he rescued the 10 year old.
Witnesses and a video someone took indicate the shark was “within just feet of them.”
God bless Kosicki. There are some good cops.
Last but not least, my Happy Birthday greetings to Lynda Frechette. Thirty going on 29. She and husband Bob the best of the best. I treasure their friendship.
Enjoy your day!
