Photos are not mine. All downloaded from Pinterest. The tichel and mezuzah are both Etsy listings. The tanakh might be from Jewitches?

Future goal: live somewhere where the farmers market has a kosher baker.
Or! BE the kosher baker at the farmers market!!
I live in a heavily Jewish area and honestly having fresh Challah at every farmers market is truly a gift from god.

born to have a large ceramic pickle jar full of kippot on an entryway table
forced to store it in my room indefinitely, because who knows when I’ll have my own house

When I was in college, the Chabad House had a real house attached to it, where a different chabadnik/Lubavitcher family lived. The dad was a rabbi, just not the primary for the Chabad House. So, they’d daven with us, and combine for festivals, but on Shabbat they’d eat as a family separately.
Anyway, the dad regularly made sourdough, and when he brought extra over to us on Friday night, he referred to it as “sourdough challah.”
Which begs the question: did he make a large enough batch for hafrish challah, or was he using it colloquially to refer to bread used for hamotzi?
He had maybe 5 kids (all under 10 years old). I love the thought of them being such sourdough fiends, that they’d go through 5lbs-of-flour worth of sourdough in just a couple days before it went stale.
I love that vibe, and would love to do that in my future koshercore cottagecore home.

Jewishcore
Messy bookshelves, over spilling with Jewish literature, Chumash, and siddurim
Freshly baked challah on Friday night, the steam still rising from it
Shabbos dinner table, chairs packed on all sides with friends and family
Zemirot and niggunim sung late into the evening
Mismatched mezuzot throughout the house
Shabbos and holiday candles burning, bringing light to this world
Fairy lights and flowers in the sukkah
Lively discussion
(inspired by a twitter post from @ TheTonightSho)
