1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work?

That depends on what ship they were looking for, I suppose. If it was Korrasami, I’d probably say Book 5: A New Path is the best start. For Korvira, maybe Starting Over.

34. What aspects of your writing are inspired by/taken from your real life?

Occasionally I’ve had things that have happened to me that I decided to write about. I’ve also used my own experience as an autistic adult to help me write autistic characters too. But mostly I try not to interject my own life into my writing. Fanfiction is my escape from reality.

36. Do you visualize what you read/write?

Yes. Actually a lot of my fics started out as dreams, that I then expanded upon. It’s hard to explain. It’s kinda like a movie in my head, that I then have to convert back into a script. I hope that makes sense.

41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”

This one is easy. There’s only one fic that made me feel like that.

It’s Korrasami, but this is easily some of the best writing I’ve seen in this fandom. I absolutely adore the angst in this fic, and the other parts of the series are great reads too. I highly recommend checking them out.

I do read fanfiction!

Most of what I read has been Korrasami, Vikyuri, wayhaught and catradora! (I mostly read wlw but I do like mlm I just have to find ships I like lol)

Actually @cazy367 writes a lot of the Korrasami stuff I like!!

And I would have to go through my bookmarks on AO3 to get the others!

There's a lot of cool wlw ships out there! Here's some of my favorites:

Korrasami is from Avatar the Legend of Korra, and it's a cartoon from Nickelodeon that aired from 20... Something something, until 2015, I think. Millennials out there remember! I totally recommend the show, though it has a teen vibe. You can find it on Netflix. It's not as explicit as it could be about the lesbian relationship because Nickelodeon was a total jerk back then.

Wayhaught is from Wynonna Earp, a show from SYFY (also on Netflix last time I checked), and it's completed! sci-fi demons meet cowboys, guns, and pew-pew! Not a kids show.

Okay, this one is wlw in fanfiction only, but it's worth mentioning: Supercorp (Supergirl on Netflix). The show is okay with LGBT representation, but Supercorp is not canon. Interesting show if you like the vibe! Amazing fandom, though 😏

Avatrice in Warrior Nun (Netflix, cancelled, but there's some hub hub going on for it to keep going somewhere else. If anyone have updates, please share). Nuns falling in love? End of the world angel/demons duels? Super-powerful-goofy-lesbian crushing on a super-skilled-ninja-nun? The tension! The jokes! The punches! the tension! (I mean sexual tension now)

CaitVi is from Arcane on Netflix. Amazing show; the direction and art is to die for. Really, it's a masterpiece. Story is good too. Slow burn though, and there's just one season out, so get ready!

Ellie x Dina in the last of us part 2 (PS4 game). I'm familiar with it, I ship it like crazy, so definitely worth the mention.

Bumbleby in RWBY (Rooster teeth - they have their own website). Are you into jock-bimbo/nerdy couples? Those girls are for you. And the fandom has a side of Whiterose, so lots of gayness around. Animation, teen focused, slow burn (literally 10 years and counting), but amazing fighting scenes.

Catradora is from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power on Netflix. Also teen vibes, but a really good animation show. Hybrid-cat-girl with a dark past plus chosen-bimbo-warrior with a darker past? Yeah, sign me up.

Other shows to consider: Killing Eve (drama), DC's legends of tomorrow (Avalance, super hero pew-pew - dig in if you like Supergirl)... People, help with more recs! (Please)

And if you like books... Oh boy, that deserves a post of its own! Lots of cool lesbian fantasy out there!

Okay anon, you asked for it! Long answer ahead because you just asked about my favs and I'm such a broken record about'em!

Also, I apologize in advance because this is going to look like fic recs and I don't know if you asked for that, specifically. But these ARE, indeed, some of my most favorite korrasami works (as for as fanfiction is concerned lol)

From the top of my head this are the ones I can't stop reading (a.k.a. I've read more than once)

It goes without saying, lanagotconed20's Road Trip series is at the top of that list. Specifically, I remember part 9 , 'All In, All Yours' being one I almost know by heart💘 but seriously, you can't go wrong with ANY of Lana's stories. They're all fantastic, and I actually did a ranking of her works to date (the complete ones, at least) a few months back, here

@hohfics Marriage or Bust has 2 complete works (same universe different paths) and damn, what masterpieces!🤩

I couldn't possibly decide between them because both are incredibly well written and convey so much emotion! Plus, there's moments on both stories that get your heart racing (either because of how intensely romantic or frightening they are) But from the two I have to give a shoutout to 'The Honeymooners' for being the very first Korrasami fic I ever read - a really high bar that I'm elated to know has been met by many great authors!

ireallyshouldnt_behere's 'Would you risk it ALL?' is a doctor au, with Korra being a cancer patient and it's fine if you're not into that but, just so you know, amongst the medical drama aspect of it there's many fun and heart warming moments and quite the satisfying ending - well, technically not an ending since is the first part of a series, but it's not complete, and the second part hadn't hooked me as much as this one. But the author has other korrasami works you may want to check out 😉

The Seeking Balance trilogy by @simplykorra is the best canon-divergence fic I've read! The way Korra's struggles and traumas are depicted through these stories (specially, the first two parts is MIND. BLOWING. and though I couldn't recommend one story more than the others (the journey is best experienced from start to finish), there's something so heart wrenching about the second part, 'Relapse' (as if the tittle didn't pull you in deeply enough) that just makes me point it out - if only to read Korra's parting letter to Asami at the end of that story. It squeezes my heart every time I read it and I can only imagine Asami's anger, sadness and fear as she reads it.

This is without a doubt my favorite 'what if' korrasami fic and I can't thank the author enough for the way it turned out! 😄👏

Last, but not least, my latest discovery/obsession is *drum rolls* @greatestchange Roll with the Punches series, it isn't complete (yet) but there's tons of top-notch content amongst the 10 works it has written by now. It is my latest reading and it easily skyrocketed to the top of my fav korrasami works, I'm still in shock!🤯

But this series comes with a *warning sign* as it is the most painful, intense, gut-punching stuff I've ever read. Some of these works, e.g the main tittled story, and the ones I'm about to be mentioned are basically "angst turned up to 11".

I gave a brief description of my experience reading that one here, if you want better understand what I think/feel about it (my opinion holds up to this day!) plus, you can check out my rwtp tag for some really good art and a few highlighted passages of certain chapters that got to me very deeply.

One tip though, I can't recommend enough that you read the main RWTP first before reading certain other works, namely 'Senna', 'Nebraska', 'The Offer', 'Family Reunion' and 'Shattered' (all in that order).

But in case you want to read some of the 'lighter' ones (and I use that word loosely because they're all intense in some way or another), some I really enjoyed reading, besides the unskippable ones are 'Say You'll Be There', 'The Assistant' and 'The Fire Place'(ch. 7 of Afterward, which is a collection of snippets). These latter works are one-shots but give you a good taste of the main story without being the main story.

I know, I know, that's a lot of reading but I really hope you get around to check at least some of these and maybe leave a comment on them. Let the authors know of your thoughts, they all deserve to know how much they're appreciated and a simple 'I love this story/your work' are never small words!

And I should've said this before, but since I don't know how old you are, please check the rating and tags of the stories since there's very mature stuff in there.

Road Trip, I think is the more PG of these literary creations, and by far the one with the most fluff out of these, but honestly - with over 30 works made - it has something to please all kinds of tastes. Though, is not excent of explicit content. But trust me, it's absolutely NOT in bad taste and very organic.

RWTP, I'd say is the extreme opposite with almost zero room for 'fluff' and, by FAR, the most mature series of them all (it deals with lots of heavy topics), but while most of the time you get pain instead of pleasure, the moments you spot the latter are that much, much sweeter, and in my experience they're more than worth it to reach!

And as far as AU's go, those two along with Marriage or Bust, are must-reads for any Korrasami shipper.

re: liking Faberry and Quinntana in fics - do you have any recs? 😃 even if not, what about them would you say pulls you towards reading/enjoying them? are there certain themes/tropes that stand out? i haven't really delved into fics, just a few here and there but i really do appreciate how writers can flesh out certain aspects of those relationships and turn it into something super great

Oh Anon I'm so terrible at bookmarking fics so I don't think I have any Faberry ones BUT I know I saved at least one Quinntana one. Actually, I'm just gonna recommend anything by tellmeagain on AO3 ('tis the damn season) and then:

I'm sure other peeps have fic recs for both Quinntana and Faberry, please chime in!

As for what I enjoy about them, it really is the fandom being so talented. Like you say, they flesh out such interesting things. With Quinntana, it's funny because I actually rank it relatively low on my Santana ships list but I did want a midgame for them. I suppose I, personally, don't see a ton of romantic chemistry there but there's chemistry of every single other kind and I always want to see more of my girls. Quinntana have one of my favourite dynamics because there's so much there thematically and then of course the way Naya and Dianna played them was just amazing.

With them, I mostly enjoy post-graduation fics. Either set in season 4 or somewhere further down the line. I think they'd need to mature a lot before they stand a chance of making it work. I also love how writers focus on their respective traumas and how differently they deal with them. Quinntana, perhaps more than any other Santana dynamic are two sides of the same coin, processing things in equal but opposite ways and that makes for really juicy stories. I enjoy character studies in fics I read and there's so much potential there for Quinntana. And then of course Quinn's coming out being part of their journey, how Santana would help with that and how this aspect is again something so similar yet so different for them.

Faberry, well. I never quite know where I stand with Faberry but I always enjoy a good fic about them. It's delicious when people take the canon things, like them going from enemies to good friends and the love triangle and make it so, so much gayer. And like, let's be honest it was already gay. I generally tend to prefer fanon Rachel anyway because I do adore her character but the way the show treats and frames her just gets too much for my nerves at times, so fic writers who get her personality right and put her in better situations are my favourite people. I prefer Pezberry in many ways but Faberry fics allow me to still have Brittana and explore Faberry if they were nudged slightly to the right.

As for tropes, well, I'm a sucker for a love triangle ending with two girls pulling a Korrasami lol. Frankly I don't think Finn and Puck deserved Rachel and Quinn, so. That is already an appealing setup. From Rachel's pov, I like that she's relentlessly trying with Quinn and showing her such kindness. And I like my Quinn to be pining, pining so hard from an early stage but being in denial first to herself and then to everyone else until there's no point in lying anymore. Even in the actual show, I think there's a reading where it's Quinn who falls for Rachel first and rejects it at first because of her background and issues. You know what, I do have a Faberry fic rec, I think this was one of the first ones I read but it's quite the canon divergence and please take the content warning seriously. It's Much More Than by CopperTine.

I hope that made at least some sense and was what you're looking for haha. They're both fun ships, especially in fanon! I still feel like I'm new to Glee fanfiction myself, there's always so much to explore.

I guess two of your OTPs based on your Amphibia OTP!

Marcanne: Willuz and Skarlow. You're a huge fan of cinnamon rolls and who deserves a cinnamon roll more than their best friend? As a general rule your ships may not always be the most popular ships anymore, but they're very cute, have a lot of chemistry, and are among the first introduced so you have a lot of content, at least in the first season or two.

Sashanne: Catradora and Winter/Huntlow

You love a good reconciliation (friends to enemies to lovers) ship, and honestly I don't blame you. It's a good dynamic and makes for great angst fanfiction. Your ships might not be the most popular, but their fanbases are extremely dedicated and you're no exception.

Sasharcy: Lumity and Bubbleline

All I can say is that you have insanely good taste in ships and also more than a little trauma that you channel into creativity. You have a good eye and can spot ships as soon as they're introduced. Your ships are are great for hurt/comfort which is good because it's your favorite genre. Your ships are usually either canon or so popular (and for good reason) that they might as well be, and they're insanely cute. You also have a thing for smart chick x girlboss ships and cinnamon roll x spicy cinnamon roll ships. Unfortunately they tend to get WAY less screentime than they deserve, but there's ton of fanart and fanfiction of them. Seriously though usually your ships don't get nearly enough screentime and you're allowed to be sad about that, just remember that they're still together and likely will be until the end of time.

Sprivy : Spinnetossa and Korrasami

You ADORE fluff. You like ships that are introduced early in the series, it doesn't matter that they don't get much screentime early on because they work so well as a couple that they have very few relationship problems and have tons of content later on as well as one being a massive comfort character for you. You're absolutely right in saying that your ships deserve their own spinoff series and you should say it.

Yulivia: Alphyne and Harlivy

You love ships where one of them is slightly unhinged, and the other one is usually the voice of reason but also has some secrets of their own. Honestly kinda a mixed bag but almost always sapphic ships. You're generally into darker stuff with sapphic relationships, and you're most likely traumatized in some way. You probably also ship Sasharcy, in which case, please take care of yourself because you're DEFINITELY a traumatized Marcy kinnie and you've been through a lot.

Golden Oldies (Hop Pop x Sylvia Sundew): Gomez&Morticia Addams and WandaVision

You love a good healthy m/f ship, but unfortunately there's not many that meet your standards. DON'T LOWER THEM. There ARE good m/f ships out there, and they are adorable. You probably love older shows before they added all the unnecessary junk like lying and cheating to the m/f couples, like the Addams Family, I Love Lucy, etc. A newer media for you that I'd recommend is the How to Train your Dragon movies and shows, because you are going to LOVE hicstrid. Stay strong and remember that there will be more healthy m/f representation.

Grimepop: Rarepairs and Pocket Ships

You adore Rarepairs and Pocket Ships, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. Fortunately this is Tumblr and Rarepairs thrive here, I don't really have much to say except for drawing and writing fanfiction will be your best friends.

Sashannarcy: Bumblebee and CaitVi

Your OTPs are GOD TIER, and the entire fandom knows it. There might be a few crazies who don't like your ships because homophobia, but as a general rule, your ships always win the shipping wars, if they even happen in your fandoms besides the aforementioned crazies. You're a great person and most likely polyamorous, because why fight over something (or someone) that can easily be shared?

The entire thing is nothing short of iconic in the Korrasami community, and man! Just scrolling the Reddit made me want to come here and thank you for your contributions to the fandom.
