For @nytimes and @nytimesfashion, I wrote about South Korean YouTubers who have carved out a genre of aspirational videos you could call Hygge meets Marie Kondo: content that prescribes minimalism and reveals the joy of quiet domesticity, especially pertinent now, with households around the world on lockdown. Vlogs by creators like @haegreendal @nyangsoop @sueddu @hami.mommy are artfully composed, with calming background music, soft-focus filters and sentimental captions set to images of plants being watered, clean pajamas being folded, and an ASMR soundtrack of meat sizzling in a pan and vegetables being diced on a wooden cutting board. Other defining characteristics of these silent vlogs? Beautiful, cinematic photography and filming with little to no talking and concealed faces ie. no annoyingly brash and loud influencers bragging about their luxury hauls and hamming it up for the camera. As much as I love going for long aimless strolls in Paris with my camera, I have never had any problems "cocooning" as they say in French, and living my best homebody life — and this was true of my lifestyle before the pandemic as well. There is no shame in being a homebody. I’m past the point of caring about FOMO. I love my alone time and I do it very well. After years of fangirling over these vloggers and this type of content from South Korea, I was finally able to write about them. Though I’ve learned quite a few homemaking tips, I watch them now more for personal enjoyment and for their cinematic value. Thinking of filming my own version, amateur though I am, with Paris as my backdrop. What do you think? Taiwan Tour: Ximending Night Market, Bopiliao Historic Block and Longshan Temple

Annyeong chingus!~ This vlog is Taiwan Vlog Day 1 Part 2! In this vlog, we visited one of Taiwan's historic places much like Philippines' Vigan: Bopiliao Historic Block and one of Taiwan's most famous temple: Longshan Temple. Both places are just one station away from Ximen station so it's very convenient for us because we had a loooong day of plane ride and hotel searching, but we still wanted to tick one or two places off our list! Me and my friend even decided on an impromptu street food mukbang! We just had to, because we might never have the chance, and I am so glad we did!~

This vlog ends our Day 1 in Taiwan and I am so excited for you guys to watch the rest of vlogs.~

i haven’t been active on social media as well as tumblr but im rather focusing on my glowup as well as studying. I successfully cleared my foundation level exam past week but that’s not my main goal. i am preparing for law entrance LSAT exam for India which will be in June . I use netflix series (that too just kdeama’s) as a source of entertainment. It was a lousy day today . I tried to rush things so much that I fell behind but you know what its okay. ITS OKAY TO TAKE A BREAK. I’ve joined this amazing community of The GLOW UP DIARIES by Alivia Andrea

and have been doing Lilly Sabri Workout challenges. THEY ARE FREAKING AMAZING .

Also , I finally have no one to talk to. It might get lonely sometimes but ITS LIFE . not everyone is going to stay with you forever.

All 4 U Unlimited Grill & Shabu Shabu Invades The South

Annyeong chingudeuls!~ Let me share with you guys a newly opened Unlimited Samgyupsal place near my home. It is the All 4 U Unlimited Grill & Shabu Shabu located at Festival Mall, Alabang.

Is Festival Mall, Alabang far from you? Do not fret! They also have a branch in Century City Mall, Makati and Vista Mall, Sta. Rosa.

In this restaurant they offer unlimited meat and organic soup. You can avail of unlimited: shrimp, beef, pork belly, odeng(korean fish cake), rice, ramyun, iced tea, lettuce, side dishes and a free korean ice cream per customer! HOW GREAT IS THAT? You can have all that for a prize of 599 php/head. Senior citizens and children ages 8 to 12 years old, PWDs and if it's your birthday, you will only have to pay 350 php/head. Lastly, if you are with children ages 1 to 7 years old, they are free of charges!

Some people at one glance might think 599 php for unlimited samgyupsal is too expensive already. Nowadays, I know there are a lot more korean unlimited samgyupsal that is cheaper than 599 and yet it's already quality. That is why I am not making this post to compare this restaurant to other unlimited samgyupsal place. I just really want to share my thoughts in this said restaurant. For me personally, I find the 599 worth it because they do serve quality meat may it be shrimp, pork, chicken or beef. The bulgogi soup we ordered also became my mom's favorite. The bulgogi soup has this taste that I would expect when I hear "bulgogi soup." They also have various kinds of soup if you're not really into bulgogi. The iced tea was also unlimited even the lettuce, rice and side dishes. It's now really up to you how much you can eat! My heart was caught though when I saw that they also serve Melona ice cream per customer at the end. That's the moment I definitely thought, it's quite worth my 599 pesos.

But hey nothing is perfect right? The downside I personally noticed in their branch at Festival Mall is that it doesn't have exhaust fans like what we see in samgyupsal places in kdramas. I went in fresh and all and came out letting everyone that I came across with know that I ate at a samgyupsal place. Hahaha.

If you plan to try out this restaurant, during weekdays they have reservations and they only accept walk-ins after 5:30 PM. However, during weekends, you can enjoy to you heart's content. And oh, they don't have any time limit so you can cheoncheonhi enjoy and savor your food.
