YOU ARE THE PERSON THAT COMPLETES ME.. JUST LIKE THE LAST PUZZLE PIECE. (엔하이픈)
synopsis: 1000 piece puzzle date with bf!enhypen. Warnings 🚨 fluff, skinship, petnames. Not proofread 👍🏻
(Hyung line)
Nova notes: HIHI ❣️ ..... I know I've been gone for a while BUT I HAVE MADE MY COMEBACK. This was based on this request! Thank you so much for requesting this anon! Maknae line coming soon! Also I've had some people tell me about some spelling mistakes in my korean so thank you so much for telling me because I truely had no idea. Enjoy my loves.
Heeseung (희승)
You have somehow convinced heeseung into solving a 1000 piece Venice landscape puzzle. He wasn't really opposed to the idea, he just had a shitton of work, but you worked up your girlfriend powers and got him put of his godforsaken work chair. "Okay, how do we do this?" He asked sitting opposite to you on your carpeted bedroom floor. "First things first, search for the corners then work our way inwards." You replied feeling giddy. You and heeseung got to work, searching for the corner puzzle pieces, losing some puzzle pieces, and heeseung throwing his usual flirtatious comments. "Baby, where is this piece~" heeseung sang out looking all over for one of the last pieces of the puzzle. "Well, crap. I don't have it." You said throwing your hands in the air. "This calls for a break." He said, pulling you by the hand and resting you on his lap. After a few moments of comfortable silent, you said "we're never gonna find that puzzle piece, are we?" Your breath hitting heesueng's ear shell as his face was buried in between your neck and collarbone. "Nope." He replied, popping the 'p'.
Jay (정성)
It was a random Tuesday night and you were bored out of your mind. Then, you heard the faint strumming of a guitar coming from Jay's office room. Making your way to his office, you spotted an abandoned puzzle set in the junk shelf. Now you were on your way with Jay's office with a mission. "Knock knock." You announced your presence as the strumming stopped. "Come in, my love." You heard Jay say from the other side. "Hello." You greeted, a soft smile on your face as you make your way to where he was sitting. "Hi, dear." He said as he put his guitar aside, gripping you closer by your waist, pulling you I'm between his legs. "So.... wanna build a puzzle with me?" You asked, resting your hands on his broad shoulders. "I would absolutely love to build a puzzle with you." He replied with a tender smile and starry eyes. You both spent the rest of your evening building the puzzle talking about everything and nothing.
Jake (재윤)
Let's be real, jake is the one who proposed this idea to you. And how could you say no when he's giving you these adorable puppy eyes. "Okay, baby, you work on the middle part and I work on the corners." Jake explained and he dumped the puzzle in between you two on the ground. "Why are you giving me the hard part?" You asked with a frown. "Baby, no. It's the important part." He winked at you as he gave you no room for more arguments. "And then she said- no!" Jake's story about the girl that was hitting on him at the bar was cut off by his dog, layla, running over your puzzle, ruining all of your hard work. "Layla! Come on!" You exclaimed as layla continued running around for her toy. You and jake stared at you decapitated puzzle, now strewn all over the living room floor. "Well, damn." Jake said as his eyes lit up all of the sudden. " Let's build a pillow fort!"
Sunghoon (성훈)
Sunghoon was sitting on the couch, scrolling on his phone mindlessly when all of the sudden he felt warm air on the shell of his ear. He turned his head to the side and saw you watching whatever was playing on his phone. "Hi, there." He whispered as you looked at him with a playfully glint in your eyes. "Hi, love." You said with a tone he recognised oh so well. It's the tone you use whenever you need something from him. "What do you need, dear?' He asked with a soft voice. "Soo.." You stretched out while walking around the couch to sit beside him. "I spotted a poor abandoned puzzle sitting in our room and it was just calling our name." You exaggerated making him let out a small chuckle. "Bring it over." He said as you let out a squeal in excitement as you ran over to grab the puzzle. The rest of evening was filled with laughter and puzzle building. Until, "babe, where's the last piece?" You asked as Sunghoon was discreetly looking for said last piece for the last 5 minutes. "I hate to break it to you, but I can't find it." He replied as you stared at him with a wide open mouth.

Ranking all the OI and manhwa I've read part 2: the moderate.
The decent stories. Just a little better than average
The tyrants only perfumer
My favorite fast food webcomic to this very day. It's characters are tolerable and there's just something some satisfying looking at the perfume bottles, the little bottles remind me of those DIY kits they'd sell at target. That being said it's still a fast food manhwa, the characters are flat, the plot goes too quick and the villains are easily defeated so as much as I enjoy it when I just want to read something quick and light, it's not a good option for something more serious.
The empress wants to avoid the Emperor.
This was actually one of my very first manhwas I've ever read. I thought it was one of the greatest stories ever told when I was still in my revenge phase and it's definitely not terrible when I reread but it's not the greatest piece of literature either. Still for a basic revenge story at least Louise actually gets away her fuckass husband.
Tears of a withered flower
I like it, just not as much as everyone else likes it. I've already made a few posts on it and my current opinions still stay the same but besides all the self insert this and the predictable that the dialog definitely improves from cartoony to poetic. I'm just hoping the rampant misogyny problem in TOAWF is only a fandom problem and not something the author is planning on incorporating into every other woman that isn't Hae Soo
I will divorce the female leads brother
Okay I won't lie this one is kinda funny given how it calls out the absurdity of protagonist centered morality in a better way. Ethel as a protagonist is okay as protagonists go and while the villains are played off as stupid thats because the story actually plays into how idiotic they are instead of claiming they are the smartest around when they aren't, specifically the brothers and father. Also the Og fl of this one has by far the ugliest designs I've ever seen. It's the kind of design where you can tell the artist did not like her at all and gave her the Miku special with those unflattering color combos. I think the weirdest part is the implied incestuous feelings the family has for Reina but once again, it's meant to be seen as vile so it gets a little pass.
Into the light once again
The pain I went through when I realized the 14 year old Aisha was being paired up with guys way to old her with this one because it was so good before it just ruined what could've been 😔. Outside of the obvious I adore both Aisha and Marianne as polar opposites and characters that aren't immediately nice or honesty to Aisha aren't put to death, for the most part at least, they are allowed to grow as better people and get character development. The magic system is pretty easy to remember though I think Aisha can sometimes get too deep in her "super powerful nice girl" archetype but it's not to the point of being awful.
The empresses lipstick
more of a comedy than a traditional rofan but it works, it's one of the first I've seen to get the rococo style a little bit better than others. (It's still not the greatest accuracy but since it's meant to be silly it has more leeway) however it sadly is brought down by the fact that Jane is heavily implied to be on the younger side when her mom bugs her about school and implies that she'll be going INTO high-school implying she's 15-16 based on Korean school systems and she's already being paired up to marry male leads older than her.. damn you age gap trope and damn you 18th century for reminding me of gross yet true history. If it weren't for the fact that I can't remember anything about the ML's age this would be lower.
The villainess turns the hourglass.
What I think of when someone asks me to think of the OG era for manhwa. The concept of the hourglass is easy to follow and it actually comes with a drawback so Aria can't be too overpowered, the bright colors make it all pop and having an actual villain for the FL in a villainess story ties it all in, people can complain about how awful she is but villainess is literally in the title so..you get what you bargained for. There are still cons though about it I don't care for, first of all I wish Mielle could be an actual threat so there would be a fun ongoing mental battle between two evil women, Isis and Mielle could've been smarter as a duo, Asher could've had a little more personality and the twist that Aria was actually of noble descent all along really killed the charm of her being a commoner who could prove she was just as smart as the aristocracy.
Perks of being the villainess
Deborah's already climbing up the ranks of one of the prettiest FL in my opinion because that shade of purple is DIVINE! The plots rather basic as most villainess manhwa tend to go. Deborah is hated by everyone except instead of a backstory claiming she's misunderstood, the og Deborah was actually an asshole to everyone she met except for Pilav so it gave her an actual obstacle. I do think some of them went too fast but I'm just glad we actually got to see the effort being done at all. I'll admit this was better then I thought so it moved up on my tier list. My only complaints are that the chapters can sometimes drag on and on to the point of being bottle episodes.
I shall master this family
I would like this so much more but it drags on so much! Florentia was nice at first but as the chapters went on and on I was less impressed and just thinking "yeah this is just getting boring" with how many times you know she's gonna best her opponents, don't hate her but shes becoming a little too meh right now. That said I like reading it, definitely suffering from a overpowered MC that could use some work but when it comes to politics it's so much more interesting if you can get past that one major issue.
Pretty good: almost better then average but I either haven't read all of it to place it higher or if there's just better
I will become the villains poison taster
I love my underrated girlie's ✊️ the plot is certainly unique, Giselle has the strange of ability of being not only immune to poison but the poison also tastes like fruity snacks/drinks. It deserves a little more traction then what it gets, the ML Reniel actually has emotions instead of stoicism plus actual critical thinking skills because the FL acts nothing like the OG villainess and Giselle, despite how it may seem, isn't the born sexy yesterday trope, she's just allowed to be a sweet heart while still being a person. It's not much but it's still pretty good.
Serena
Fashion and character designs are absolute peak but plot comes before art. At first I was pretty harsh on Serena but when I actually read more of it to form a more concrete opinion I realized it's not the worst and actually got a little entertaining. As a FL Serena isn't bad, I like that she comes across as a nepo baby who needs to work hard to uphold her predecessors legacy so we have flaws to work with here and at the very least the story seems to be kinda self aware that Serena isn't a terrific person. It's also a drama not a romance so while I don't like either Eiser or Frederick as love interests at least Serena can say the romance isn't supposed to be the center of the plot.
Your throne
After so many people telling me how good it was I finally caved in and began reading last week but I already got spoiled so I know most of what happens. Obviously I like the fact that Medea and Psyche actually team up instead of hating eachother and even though it's through spoilers Psyche is my favorite. It's so dang long though it's probably gonna be a while before I make any your throne related posts. Only cons is it can sometimes get too boring to follow.
Seducing the villains father
Proof you can make a stereotypical rofan and it can still work. Yerenica is the perfect balance of girl failure and likeability where her flaws are very common for most people and yes while she is kinda dumb she's not so dumb it makes me wanna slam my head against the wall. Erudian is pretty good as ML's are concerned, just a tad basic and the villain Soleia isn't dumbed down either. Love the second half of the story which gives a little more focus on Yenis family instead of just her love life and while it does get cringe inducing and the plot tracks off from time to time, I still like it.
The crownless queen
The FL is a recently retired history expert who transmigrated in her daughters inaccurate novel and because of those inaccuracies, there are new problems to face while Delia has to survive in a world where Barons and Dukes are switched and she has to climb to social latter. There's little things that really prove how much thought was put into it (such as Delia not knowing the exact date in time shes set in since she's in a different world)
Beware of the villainess.
A little similar to your throne but it keeps my attention longer then the former. Once again women working together instead of being forced into enemies! Really like that! The Yuri baiting though? Boo 👎, don't tease the audience like that (especially considering the og fl is literally called Yuri) can be over the top but I think that's what makes it stand out, it means to be funny and in your face with Melissa's antics but the best character by far is Yona, home girl just wants that check and I can understand that feeling.
Another typical fantasy romance
I gotta stop procrastinating and finish this one!! 😭 first off, Pellus is my 2nd favorite ML with his design being my number 1 favorite in terms of character design. For once we have an actual cold duke who accurately looks intimidating instead of basic BTS member. Best part though: it is one of the greenest of green flag relationships to the point where Lithera and Pellus are worthy candidates to face off Pereshati and Therdeo in terms of who's the best manhwa couple. Actual communication instead of miscommunication that goes on for chapters, relationship actually has steady progression that's just in the middle of how they get to together and Lithera is a great FL. Then I found a bunch of other manhwa and forgot about this one until it came up in my head while I made my first tier list. It'll probably go up once I complete the story.
This one took longer then I expected but part 2 is finally out and now I have to start rereading for part 3.

Y.O.U (Years Of Us), Chapter 8: "Have a nice life".
Jimin x half black/half Korean OC
Genre/Rating: 21+, established relationship, idol!AU, smut, angst, and fluff
Summary: Kamaria has a run in with Hye-ja, Jimin pops up, and Kamaria and Taemin talk business.
Warnings: masturbation
WC: 2.4K
Song Of The Chapter: Loving Me 4 Me-Christina Aguilera
Two Years Ago
Jimin shuffled down the hallway of his house, rubbing at his eyes as he followed the sound of Kamaria's voice from where it was flowing from the kitchen. When he got to the archway that separated the kitchen from the large dining room, he smiled to himself as he watched her sing some lyrics that he had never heard before.
"Your lips, your eyes, your smile, your kiss, I must admit, it's a part of me," Kamaria sung. "You please me, complete me, filling me like a melody."
Jimin leaned against the archway, admiring how gorgeous she looked. She must've written whatever she was singing the night before because she was dancing around to it as if she already knew the melody to it, which she more than likely did. She was clad in one of his t-shirts with boy shorts on underneath and if he knew her the way he knew he did, she didn't have a bra on. Her hair, which was in braids, was piled on top of her head and she had a scarf on, which made him chuckle since he recognized it as one of his merch items from years ago.
"Your soul, your flow, your youth, your truth is simply proof we were meant to be," Kamaria continued. "But the best quality that's hooking me is that you're loving me for me."
Jimin chose to sneak up behind her then, slowly wrapping his arms around her waist and she instantly leaned into him. He loved it when she did that, it showed him how comfortable she was around him.
"That's beautiful," he murmured deeply, in lieu of a "good morning". "You write that last night?"
"After we had sex," she replied with a nod. "I couldn't sleep after because this melody got stuck in my head."
"The lyrics you were just singing, is that how I make you feel?" Jimin wondered and he hugged her tighter when she placed her hands on his forearms.
"They are," she confirmed. "You know how I feel about you."
"I don't know, I might need a reminder," he joked, making her smack her lips as she turned around to face him.
"You're everything to me," Kamaria stated honestly.
"You're everything to me too, Bubs," he whispered before kissing her passionately.
.........................................................
A few days later, Kamaria smiled as she posed for pictures , standing outside of Eclair which was the flagship store where one of her close friends, Kwon Hyeri, was celebrating the grand opening. Kamaria had been trying to stay out of the press since 'Taming' was still receiving pretty significant media attention but Hyeri had been designing clothes for Kamaria basically since her debut so she wanted to show her support.
"Kamaria, over here!" The paparazzi shouted and Kamaria instantly turned her head, her smile bright as she posed with her hands folded in front of her and her legs crossed. Unlike most celebrities, Kamaria didn't outright hate the paparazzi. Of course, they could be privacy invading jerks at their best and despicable, life ruining assholes at their worst but Kamaria did her best to really only acknowledge them at public events and so far, that had seemed to work out in her favor.
"Thank you," Kamaria said, bowing lightly to them before she walked off of the carpet and into the store, where all of the guests that had been invited to the grand opening where mingling around, talking and looking over the pieces of clothing that were for sale.
"Kam!" Hyeri shouted as she rushed up to her and Kamaria grinned widely as she hugged her friend tightly. "I'm so glad you were able to make it!"
"How could I not?" Kamaria chuckled. "I owe you so much."
"I'm the one who owes you," Hyeri shook her head. "It's thanks to the publicity from you wearing my designs that I was even able to open the store."
"Hey, your talent is the one to thank in that case," Kamaria replied. "I'm proud of you, seriously."
"Thanks," Hyeri beamed. After grabbing a glass of champagne, Kamaria milled around the store, making small talk with different idols and actors and actresses that she was familiar with.
"Well, if it isn't Choi Minali," a voice called out and Kamaria looked over to see Hye-ja smiling at her.
"Hey-ja-ssi," Kamaria smiled, albeit tightly. "How are you?"
"I'm good, how are you?" Hye-ja wondered.
"Good, good," Kamaria nodded. "Just came to support Hyeri."
"She dresses you, right?"
"For things like my music videos and tours, she'll usually make me something custom, yeah," Kamaria confirmed. "What about you?"
"Oh, I wore one of her gowns in a film of mines and I've been trying to get her on retainer ever since," Hye-ja joked, making Kamaria laugh. "I'm so glad she finally decided to have some faith in herself and open an actual store, though."
"Same here," Kamaria agreed. Suddenly, a photographer came up to them and smiled politely.
"Do you two mind taking a photo together?" He wondered.
"Of course not," Hye-ja shook her head before turning to look at Kamaria. "Ok?"
"Sure," Kamaria nodded. Hye-ja moved to stand next to her then, and they both smiled brightly as the photographer snapped the photo.
"Beautiful," he complimented. "Thank you." Hye-ja waited until the photographer walked away before she turned around and smiled at Kamaria.
"So, can I tell you something?" She wondered and Kamaria shrugged before nodding.
"Go ahead."
"Stay the fuck away from my husband," she spit and Kamaria's eyebrows instantly rose as she looked at the other woman.
"Excuse me?"
"You know, despite what my looks might have you thinking, I'm not some stupid, spoiled actress," Hye-ja stated firmly. "I know that you're the reason why Jimin hasn't been wearing his wedding ring."
"I have no idea why Jimin's not wearing his wedding ring," Kamaria scoffed. "That literally has nothing to do with me."
"Yeah, right," she rolled her eyes. "You heard what the fuck I said."
"You know, since we're sharing tidbits of information, you should probably know that I don't like being threatened," Kamaria fumed lowly. "And if you were smart, you might wanna ask your husband what exactly I do to people who threaten me."
Hye-ja either was shaken by that statement or she had the good sense to pretend that she was because the fire that had been in her eyes subsided and Kamaria could tell that it was replaced by slight apprehension.
"Have a good rest of your night," Kamaria smiled falsely before turning around and walking away.
.........................................................
Later that night, after making it back home, Kamaria had managed to take off her dress, shower and put on her pajamas before a knock sounded at her front door. Walking up to the door, she paused to check the security camera and she could instantly tell that it was Jimin, even though he had clearly tried to disguise himself by wearing a fedora and a trench coat.
"Right on time," Kamaria muttered to herself as she unlocked the door and pulled it open. "Fuck do you want, Jimin?"
"Damn, hello to you too," he chuckled.
"Oh excuse me, I'm sorry, I'm not in the best mood because I ran into your wife tonight and she fucking threatened me," Kamaria rushed out.
"Hye-ja?" Jimin chuckled. "She threatened you?"
"What reason would I have to fucking lie, Jimin?"
"Never said you were lying," he instantly replied, holding his hands up in mock surrender. "I'm just saying, it's hard to imagine Hye-ja threatening someone."
"Yeah, well she did and you better warn the little bimbo bitch to not do it again because next time, I'm going to fuck her up," Kamaria stated firmly. "And you know I will."
"Ok, ok," Jimin nodded. "I'll talk to her and I'm sorry that she did that."
"What did you even come over here for anyways?" Kamaria wondered.
"Came to get my ring," he said and Kamaria nodded tersely.
"Wait here." She walked away from the door, going into her kitchen and grabbing the ring from where it had been sitting on the counter before walking back to the front door and dropping it into Jimin's waiting hand.
"Why haven't you called me?" He wondered as he pushed the ring back onto the fourth finger on his left hand.
"There's nothing for us to talk about," Kamaria shrugged. "What happened that night was a mistake. Nothing more, nothing less."
"You sure about that?"
"More than sure," she nodded. "Just needed a distraction." Jimin's eyes widened at hearing her refer to what they shared that night as a distraction and he couldn't help the scowl that appeared on his face.
"Well, I'm sure you'll be happy to know that Hye-ja came to me and said she's finally ready to have a baby," Jimin told her, wanting to hurt her the way that she had hurt him. Admittedly, that statement did hurt Kamaria and she felt tears welling up in her eyes.
"Great, then you don’t need me. Congratulations," she spat harshly. "Have a nice life". Jimin didn't even get a chance to respond before door was slamming shut in his face that was sounded by a loud kick from the other side of the door, which made him flinch in his spot.
"God damn it," they both whispered to themselves.
.........................................................
A week later, Kamaria had done her best to just move on with her life. She was trying to focus more on writing the album and getting that done, and she was finding it surprisingly easy to write. Apparently, heartbreak's an amazing motivator. Who would've thought?
Kamaria was broken out of her thoughts by her black escalade pulling up in front of a well known restaurant in Seoul called Harbour. Once the truck pulled to a stop, she waited until her security opened the door and she hopped out, being careful of her skirt as she quickly rushed into the building.
Raising her sunglasses up from her eyes and setting them on top of her head, Kamaria glanced around the room until she locked eyes with another pair of brown ones, making her grin widely.
"Tae," she grinned, rushing over and Taemin only had enough time to stand up before she threw herself against him, hugging him tightly.
"Hello, my love," he greeted her, gently squeezing her waist and she pulled back a little bit from the hug so that she was able to look up at him.
"I'm sorry I'm late," she apologized and Taemin instantly shrugged.
"Forget it," he replied. "I haven't been waiting long. Here, sit down." He moved over to pull her chair out for her and once she was sitting, he moved back to sit down in the chair across the table from her. "How are you? Like, really?"
"I'm ok, Tae," she assured him. "I was a little depressed because of my mom but I'm coming back out of it alright."
"Good," Taemin murmured. "I know we don't talk as much but I do still worry about you."
"I know," she nodded, putting one of her hands out on the table and Taemin instantly reached his out and intertwined their fingers. "I appreciate it, honestly."
"Don't distract me," Taemin said suddenly with a smile, squeezing her hand before letting it go which made Kamaria laugh. "We came here to discuss business."
"You're right," she sighed. "So, I've been working on my newest album and I wrote a song called If I Could Tell You. While I was working on it, I was trying to envision who would sing the other part and all I could think of was you."
"Well, I have always thought our voices harmonize insanely well together," Taemin spoke up. "Would you mind if I looked at the lyrics too, maybe have some input?"
"Of course not," Kamaria shook her head. "I think that would make it more tangible, you know?"
"Believable," Taemin chuckled in understanding. "I'll do it."
"Wait, that easily?" Kamaria gasped softly.
"Well, the company is more than enthusiastic about it and people have been trying to get us to do a song together for years now so I know our fans will probably enjoy it," he explained.
"I just thought with everything you have going on right now, you might be too busy."
"When have I ever been too busy for you?" Taemin wondered and Kamaria couldn't help the smile that appeared on her face.
"Just so you know, I only want to do the song with you," she acknowledged. "Nothing else."
"Are you sure? I know you remember how good it was in that bathroom in Gangnam, and every other time," he smirked.
"You also know how good it was and still is," Kamaria shot back, making Taemin chuckle.
"Don't I know it?" He muttered wistfully. "It's the stuff my dreams are made of." The warmth that flowed over Kamaria's cheeks stayed there for the rest of their lunch together and even as they walked out of the restaurant together, she still couldn't bring herself to look him in the eye exactly.
"Should've known the dozens would descend at some point," Kamaria huffed, nodding with her head at the small group of paparazzi that had gathered outside of Harbour.
"They must've heard the prettiest songbird had decided to grace us all with her presence," Taemin complimented her and Kamaria rolled her eyes playfully.
"I'll call you soon to set up a session, ok?"
"I'll be waiting," he promised, grabbing one of her hands and giving it a gentle squeeze.
.........................................................
"Fuck," Kamaria moaned as she ran her fingers over her clit in a small circle, her other hand pinching her nipple as she pushed herself towards her peak. If Kamaria were being honest with herself, just being around Taemin always made her wet and not acting on it only further drove her crazy.
There had always been this nameless quality that Taemin had that just seemed to pull Kamaria to him. She wasn't sure if it was his unyielding sense of innocence, his cheesy jokes, his heavenly voice or even his beautiful fucking face. All she knew was that Taemin always made butterflies flutter around her stomach, and she didn't mind that at all.
"Shit," she hissed, her back arching up off the bed. "I'm gonna, gonna, fuck! Tae!" Her climax crashed down onto her at that moment, her thighs becoming slick as she slowly rubbed the last edges of her orgasm out.
"Holy fuck," she huffed as she flopped back against her pillow. "I don't how the fuck I'm gonna make it through these recording sessions."

Timothee and Y/N go out to eat and unfortunately Timothee’s stomach doesn’t agree with the meal he eats because of the spice in it. He’s worried it ruined date night by Y/N takes care of him and reassures him he didn’t.
Female reader plz and thx
Hello!! Thank you for the request, I'm sorry it took me so long to write it, I've been incredibly busy with exams 😭
It's quite short, but I hope you like it <3
Drama Queen
Fluff!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Timothée's head rested on your shoulder as your fingers carded through his tangled curls. His face was twisted in pain, soft groans escaping his lips every now and again. He rested his weight entirely on you, nearly causing you to collapse right then and there, on the hallway floor. You hated to see him like this even if you knew he was just being his theatrical self.
In reality, the situation was not at all grave, yet Timothée seemed to make it his mission to blame himself.
Just hours prior, you were sitting contently at a Korean restaurant that you've been eying for some time. The night was perfect: delicious food, great conversation, and abundant time to simply bask in eachothers company.
That was until Timothée's stomach completely gave in to all the spice he had consumed that evening. And so, you had to race home, where you spent the next half an hour digging through the medicine cupboard, still in you sparkly date night dress, only for him to be a stubborn baby and refuse to take the medicine.
In his words, he "ruined the evening and deserved to feel this way."
"See, you would feel better if you only took the medicine." You tried to reason, only getting a shake of his head in return.
"Nooo. Don't wanna."
You rolled your eyes at the evident pout in his voice. He was nothing if not a drama queen.
You let your hands move down to his face and cup his cheek, silently asking him to look at you. He did, and as you locked eye contact, you could see the genuine concern painted on his face.
You smiled softly at him, a gesture which he didn't return, instead casting his gaze to the floor.
"Please don't think you ruined our night." You spoke gently, trying your best to comfort him.
" I had an absolutely wonderful evening, and now I just want to help you, darling. "
"Are you sure it's okay?"
Came his feeble response.
"Of course, my lovlie. Please, take the medicine, and then we can watch a film and cuddle?"
His head instantly bolted upwards, earning an amused giggle from you. Without any further delay, he rushed off into the kitchen, popping the tablet into his mouth and chugging it down with some water.
He returned to you with a dorky grin, arms outstretched and ready to envelop you in his embrace once more.
Everyone loves a good snack. Regular meals are important for your health, but they are also a tyrannical regime that keeps you from shovelling MSG-laden tortilla chips into your mouth six or seven times a day. In the interest of personal freedom, I took over my cousin's failing food truck business and started serving up schedule-busting goodies all over town.
Admittedly, I didn't really care about feeding the masses. I definitely did not care about cooking for, and cleaning up after, random individuals that I would never meet again. What I got into this business for was the truck, a beaten-up old Isuzu NRR that I thought would make a good vehicle with which to tow. If I held out for long enough, then I could pay myself with the truck in lieu of a paycheque when the company went bankrupt.
Of course, I couldn't just sit on my hands and do nothing. To make things look good for the bankruptcy trustees, I was told, I had to put in a serious effort to craft and sell food across town. Soon I was selling hot dog buns stuffed full of Cheetos for seventeen dollars a pop. Customers lined up around the block. To my surprise and anger, this was the moment in which my natural-born business instincts finally manifested to produce some big-league cheddar. Some even maintained a website dedicated to tracking my every move around town, even commenting on my double-clutching as I tried to maneuver that tricky intersection before the downtown bridge without stopping for the red light.
Money was pouring in from a fanatical customer base, which made it improbable that I could pull off my truck-instead-of-cash trick. Not like I could stop for long enough to change the plate on the thing. I was invited to food festivals, park openings, and even had my own Netflix show for a little while, because they didn't want to pay writers anymore, and filming me for two hours of slinging greaseball fried food out of the window of my truck was cheaper. Don't worry: I made sure to ruin all of their takes by talking randomly about 1980s Korean economy cars, a topic that advertisers absolutely despise.
So what took out my business? It wasn't competition, or even that time I rammed the Mayor's limousine while rushing to the scene of a multi-vehicle accident to serve up hot snacks to the brave firefighters. Ultimately, it was my cousin, who wanted his now-successful business back. Without my brave leadership (and gonzo, irresponsible driving) at the helm, the quality of the food immediately dropped, and he went under. There is good news, however. I did get to keep the truck after all, even though Cousin Neutral had to torch it for the insurance money first.
Love for Love's Sake | Things You Didn't Notice #9
(okay it's not an episode number this time i just still have many details to point out oops pls let me go)
I swear. I thought I'd stop mentioning small details because I already wrote like 10 posts on Tumblr translating and explaining all the cultural stuff regarding this show and the obsession is already becoming embarrassing, but I rewatched the last episodes again and I've got tiny. Little. Details. That I can't help but point people to once again. Because damn, the amount of thought put into this show!
(trigger warning: first part talks about suicide and depression, next ones are linguistic and cultural)
The Black Suit & The Sea
I would've asked Koreans I know about the significance of such symbolism but they are celebrating Seollal (New Year) today and I don't wanna ruin the festive mood asking about "how would people dress for suicide" x)
But after watching this scene, I recognized some strong parallels in Korean media depicting depression, suicide and one's decision to end their life. One of it is bridges and jumping (if you don't know what Bridge of Life is, ask me and I'll share, so this post wouldn't become too long) but another one is sea.
My interpretation - Koreans wear black suits to funerals, so if someone is headed to the sea in a black suit, it might mean this is the character's attempt to "have" their own funeral before finally ending their life. Why do I think this combination is somehow significant?
Because I remembered a music video one of K-pop artists I like (Kim Hanbin) made, after he experienced the downfall of career, extreme hate and rejection from the public, and severe depression. His whole album Waterfall tells Hanbin's personal story, dark thoughts and his battle to survive during the time when he was gone for 2 years, but in the music video for this album (illa illa) he is seen emerging from the sea in a black suit – metaphorically regaining his music and, most importantly, desire to live. Watch with lyrics!
youtube
If we think, this is how you depict suicidal thoughts/attempt in Korean media (of course, Love for Love's Sake was even more blunt in telling us the meaning), then Myungha wearing black suit wasn't just for the pretty or dramatic picture. More than that, we see him wearing the black suit for the whole last evening – especially when he goes to finally meet his mother.
Which tells us Myungha has already decided to disappear from this world, and was determined to do it on that day, and his mother rejecting him and pretending she doesn't know her son might not have been just the last straw... but it definitely could've been Myungha's last attempt to find anything in his life worth staying for, worth not going through with his plan.
Anyway, what a scary but beautiful symbolism.
Let's talk about something happier! More heartwarming!
Do you remember when we talked about the carefully placed movie posters in previous episodes? I payed more attention to the background this time when in Episode 8 Yeowoon ran to the cinema searching for Myungha in his world. And what an amazing discovery! When Myungha starts existing again and calls Yeowoon, the movie poster behind Yeowoon says "Guardian" (보호자).
And I already said in another post that Myungha in previous episodes admitted himself being Yeowoon's "guardian, protector" in the exact same word. But now this word is shown next to Yeowoon! As Yeowoon is the one who changed the main mission and has now declared himself Myungha's guardian and protector and will do his best to make him (his favourite pereson/bias/blorbo) happy. They have now both become guardians for each other. This. Goddamn. Show.
And I also want to shout out the VFX & Production team for this show – all the visual effects are very down to earth, gentle and not over the top but enhancing the series to the max. Like, maybe you wondered where on the screen does it say "Monday, August 14" and "Saturday, August 12"? Well, as expected, you see it on four monitor screens above the box office – the date, the ongoing movies (yep, still our favourite two fake movies) and available dates etc.
But when Yeowoon and Myungha agree to meet each other in the exact system time, they are facing each other without a barrier, and the screens are now counting down the time until the Game End. Instead of normally showing movies, like in the previous shot, it says "Time remaining: 3 hours, 23 minutes, 15 seconds". It was either done with VFX or practically, but still, the thought of incorporating system messages into the actual background is insane and I'm always happy to discover such details.
I don't know how many of you have motivational stairs at your schools, we definitely didn't have this but it's quite a popular thing in Korea. They put popular and uplifting sayings for students on each stair, sometimes they even quote motivational phrases from idols, like this:
And it's interesting that when system gets broken and Myungha is about to disappear, we see the deep cracks coming through the stairs, we see ruined school BUT at the same time the quotes in the show are so obviously in our focus. And they are already written (see screenshots above) in Korean and English, but I'll still write down: one is saying "Stay hungry, stay foolish" and "If you dream it, you can do it, you will succeed". So, perhaps... motivational quotes from sunbae?
And the last moment isn't heavy on translation but I still want to talk about it because cool Korean culture!xD You see the gang grilling meat on the roof (it's called samgyeopsal and it's very popular to have for gatherings), and then Myungha makes a "ssam" and feeds it to Yeowoon – but Sangwon steals it.
Ssam is a wrap, you grill meat then put it on the salad leaf, add other ingredients (like mushrooms, sauces, garlic, green onions etc, there are many side dishes) and then you wrap it in this sort of salad sack and eat it. It's very tasty and unusual combination. But the thing is! There is no way to make it for someone else and leave it on their plate so if you make a ssam wrap for someone and want to give it to a person, you literally have to feed them (like Myungha does with a very fond smile). This is why it's often seen as a romantic gesture (aka feeding someone from your fork etc) and why it's hilarious that Sangwon steals this ssam from Yeowoon (because he wants and he gets Myungha's affection and he's not above being a brat about it!)
I'm sure you can already sense it anyway without me telling you about romantic/close-friend implications, but I thought you guys might wonder why are the guys fighting over the salad leaf.
Another funny thing – Sangwon mentions "There's a saying, 'Don't scold dogs while they eat'". This is a Korean proverb "밥 먹을 때는 개도 안 때린다" ("You don't hit even a dog when it eats") which means that, no matter how annoying you find someone, no matter how angry you are, you can't scold this person while they are eating. Eating is a very important cultural thing in Asia, of course, so do not have arguments at the dinner :D But it's funny how Sangwon uses old proverbs to be mischievous and steal Myungha's love without consequences xD I adore him
I swear, this gotta be my last post about all the details in Love for Love's Sake. There is one more scene with the mirror and a caption, and I'm very curious if it means something because it was seen twice, during system breaking down scene as well, but it's either in Chinese or Japanese and I can't read it.
Anyway! Hope you enjoyed your everyday magazine, I love reading all your tags and thoughts and comments, and if you want to read all my previous translations and pointed out cultural details in Love for Love's Sake, go read this tag!=)
JUN X FEM READER
Bestfriends to lovers since exclusive fairytale is driving me insane…
WC:1.6K
WARNINGS: Unprotected sex, switch jun, switch reader, oral (m receiving), fingering, creampie, begging, mentions of viagra, begging
Moving into college is hard. It’s your second year, yet every new dorm is equally as much of a hassle. You finally flop onto your bed after hanging up all your clothes only to be met with the rumbling of your stomach.
“God, I should've eaten breakfast.” you mumble to yourself, thankful your roommate is nowhere to be found.
You begrudgingly get up and walk out, head deep into your phone trying to find the nearest dining hall on the campus map. You find the closest one to you is only a few buildings over, just to crash into someone in front of you, making you stumble back.
“Oh shit, I’m sorry” you say looking up at the tall blonde.
“Nah, it's my bad. I was too into my phone, I'm trying to find a dining hall.” he says in a deep, smooth voice. Damn. He’s really fucking hot. The unnatural blonde suits him so well, and his cat-like eyes are incredibly attractive.
“I’m actually looking for one too. There's one a few buildings over, you want to go with me?”
“Sure.”
From then a beautiful friendship bloomed. You learned his name is Jun, he’s from china, he speaks mandarin, cantonese, and korean. He loves to dance. His best friend/roommate's name is Minghao who is also from China and has bright red hair so it would be hard to miss him on campus. He used to be a child actor, but got into business so he can take over his dad’s company, and most importantly he is filthy rich. He didn’t even bother to say he’s “Comfortable” like most rich people do, he just said “I can pay all four years of full tuition with no worries.” which told you everything you needed to know. You and Jun quickly became friends, attached to the hip would be an understatement. Wherever you went, best believe Jun would be there. He became your go-to person. If you needed something he would get it for you, if you needed help he would be there, he was even there to ice your nipples when you got them pierced. You lost all shame when it came to Jun, he was your person. So when you walk into your room one day, just to see Jun laying shirtless in your bed, covered in sweat, with his dick in his hands, and your panties to his nose, you’re beyond confused.
“Jun?” you say with wide eyes, quickly shutting the door.
“I’m sorry Y/N, Hoshi tricked me and gave me chocolate but it was some sort of fucking viagra and now I can’t stop thinking about you and I’m sorry if this is weird and ruins our relationship and i know I should’ve just went to my room, but I know your roommate and hao are in there and I really wanted to see you and I knew you could help me-”
“Jun, slow down what?”
“Y/N, please fuck me.” he says with a whine.
You feel like you could collapse right now.
You slowly walk up to him and take his chin into your hand, raising his face to meet your eyes. “Are you sure?”
“Yes, Y/N. Please.”
You straddle his thighs and kiss him and take his dick into your hands, beginning to stroke it making him groan. “Jun, how long have you felt like this?”
“Since you bumped into me in the hallway. You’re the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen.” he says and leans forward to kiss you again. He runs his hands across your body and squeezes your ass.
“Baby, please let me fuck you.”
“Jun, you’re driving me crazy.”
“Imagine how crazy you drove me every time you bent over only wearing one of my shirts, every time you wore a shirt with no bra, touched me in a certain way, looked at me with those pretty eyes, smiled at me. I’ve wanted to make you mine for so long, to be able to call you my girl.”
You smile at him, a bright, beautiful smile, making his heart skip a beat. You lean back and take off your shirt, his hands immediately flying to your chest, squeezing them.
“When I saw these tits for the first time I popped a boner. I had to pretend I was fine seeing your nipples pebble up from the ice.”
“I wish you did what you were thinking. You helping me made me sooo wet.”
He runs his hands to your sweatpants and pulls them down, helping you get off leaving you in just your panties. He sits up and kisses up your chest and around your face. He kisses your forehead, then your eyelids, the tip of your nose, your jaw, and finally your lips.
“Please fuck me, Jun.”
He flips the two of you over pulling off his sweats and boxers. “Where are your condoms?”
“You don’t need one.”
“Baby, are you sure?”
“Yes Jun! Just fill me up already.” you whine.
He groans into your neck, running his fingers through your folds, only to find you ridiculously wet. “All this just for me?” he smirks at you, slowly circling his finger on your clit.
“Yes, Jun”
“You flatter me, Baby.”
He runs his fingers down and plunges two straight into your hole, cutting to the chase and feeling around for your G-spot. He knows he found it when your back arches off the bed and you grab his hair, pulling his lips to yours. He continues thrusting up into your sweet spot, making your toes curl. You pull his hair and look into his eyes.
“I want to cum on your cock, Junnie.”
“And exactly when I think I couldn’t be more in love with you, you surprise me.” he says with a smile. “But no.” he says as his eyes darken.
“What the fuck do you mean no?” you say in shock.
“I mean, you’ll cum when I let you cum.”
“Jun, stop teasing.”
“I can show you what real teasing looks like, Baby.” he says as he pulls his fingers out of you and slips them into your mouth as you're about to rebuttal.
He pulls you up by your hair and pushes you to your knees. “You know what to do Baby, I’ve heard first hand about how much of a whore you are.”
You groan but lick his leaking tip while looking into his eyes. “I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do, '' you say challengingly.
He looks into your eyes and shrugs. “I guess I’ll have to show you.”
He hooks his fingers into your mouth to widen it and shoves his dick straight into your mouth without giving you any time to adjust. He begins to thrust into your mouth and straight down your throat making you gag, but his fingers make you unable to close your mouth. You look at him with pleading eyes, but the tears running down your face only turns him on more. He decides he’s had enough. He needs to fuck that soaking wet pussy or he might actually die. He grabs your hand and throws you on the bed.
“Spread your legs.”
You obey but you're plotting. Is he forgetting he was the one desperate for you to touch him? Now he wants to be in charge? Not on your watch. As he bottoms out in you, you let out a loud moan to distract him and flip him over.
“Junnie, I think you’re forgetting you’re the one who's in desperate need of somewhere to dump their cum. You’d think you’d be a little nicer to me.” you say and grind your hips into him, making his eyes roll back.
“I want you to beg for me.”
Without missing a beat he starts to beg. “Please fuck me Y/N, I need it. I feel like I'm gonna explode. You're so warm and tight I feel like I’m in heaven. Please help me, baby.”
You raise your hips and his hips chase you, making it so you don't raise off his dick. “Jun, how am I gonna ride you if you don’t let me up.”
He groans and glues his hips to the bed, letting you begin to bounce. You feel like he’s in your guts, moving your insides around to accommodate him.
“God, Jun you feel so good.” you moan out as you bounce faster, ignoring the burn in your thighs. He thrusts meeting your hips as you bounce, pushing his dick deeper into you. His hands travel to your clit, pressing firmly and rubbing tight circles. “Please cum baby, cum on my cock, I’m so close.”
Seeing him so pathetic beneath you does something to you. You grind harder, feeling his tip hit your spot everytime, throwing you over the edge. As soon as he feels the first squeeze of your cunt he lets go, filling you up completely, causing some to spill out of you onto his thighs. He pulls you down for a kiss, holding you as you come down from your orgasm.
He looks you in the eye when he whispers “I love you” against your lips.
As the sun shines through your windows, you awake with a smile on your face. It feels so good to finally be in Jun’s arms as his girlfriend. You sit up and stretch making him get up with you. He wraps his hands around your waist. “I’m hungry,” he says.
“You want me to order you something?”
“No, I’m hungry for something else. I missed out on eating it yesterday” he smirks and drags you down onto the bed with him.
A/N: LMK if you want a part 2 with her roommate and how? I'm thinking a forced proximity kind of thing.
Dad Batch as things my Dad did/said during our trip to drop off my younger sister at college:
Hunter:
Told my mom (who was driving in the other car) that we were going to take a shortcut and she expressed her disagreement with the idea before giving in - then after that conversation he kept muttering about how "great" his shortcut was to validate it to himself
Got mad at me for messing up one screw on the table we were putting together (it literally did not compromise the table in anyway) - "You ruined it!" - and this was after I helped him put together a whole ass dresser
Knew our van had battery problems courtesy of our last trip and STILL didn't get it fixed so he had to jump-start our van every time we turned it on
Echo:
Had a playlist that consisted of country songs, old Korean songs, pop song covers of classic songs that didn't need pop song covers, Latin pop music, and Disney songs playing
Showed us multiple times how to fold a t-shirt in seconds after seeing an Instagram reel about how to do so
Wrecker:
Kept getting spooked out by the fact that our hotel was across the street from a cemetery - he'd make ghost noises and when I told him to stop because he'd scare himself he went "I'm already scared."
Got scolded by my mom for playing the games on his phone when it was nearly midnight - she asked "are you still playing your games??" and he just gave her a blank look and showed her his phone where he was, in fact, still playing his games
Would remember he had things to do on his phone WHILE DRIVING and would try and get them done WHILE DRIVING
Tech:
Would violate traffic laws occasionally and when I called him out he went "I don't care. Nobody died."
Had me help him build furniture and make sure he was following the directions right because "I'm good at Legos"
Every time he got a chance to take a rest from diving he'd sleep for maybe,, ten minutes?? and then spend the rest of the time either A) playing on his phone or B) making sure we were going the right way despite having a GPS
Crosshair:
"He seemed to be....Canadian looking *with disgust*" <- about my sister's neighbors
Looked up the lyrics to a hymn my mom was trying to remember so she could go to sleep and leave him alone
#he's a little silly#also#i swear he's a good driver#he sounds terrible here but he's actually goated at driving#tbb#tbb hunter#tbb echo#tbb wrecker#tbb tech#tbb crosshair#dad batch
You hit the nail on the head! I‘ll ask for more professional assessment: honest opinion on Crystal?
Following on from my ramblings about Sally Park. Oops! Edited to add in Zoe too.
Well written female characters in Lookism? Uhh...
When the bar is at an all time low, it's really not hard to step over it.
At this point, I've been pavloved to think that any female character that expresses a personality trait other than 'simp' is pretty good. Simp is fun when it's part of a list of characteristics (Zack, Ryuhei). Not so much when it's the only thing.
Long live PTJ, the greatest feminist. Anyway.
Female characters I like
Mary Kim
Love her. Empress of 2 seconds. Queen of my heart.
Surprisingly kept a platonic relationship with Vin Jin, showing quite a healthy mixed gender friendship. Sassy and smart. Loyal. Good taste in men (Jace). Is shown having a life and interests outside of a man.
On my hands and knees praying that PTJ doesn't ruin her. Kinda glad she hasn't appeared in a while so she is kept away from his incessant need to turn everyone into a love interest.
Lua Im
Once we got over the odd Johan panels, which I heard the Korean audience didn't like and I'm quite happy about, she's fine. And it's not that I care that much about Johan staying a single dog-dad, I just needed a coherent reasoning/build up why they would be interested in one another.
Lua has potential.
Sourcing intel, even impressing the likes of Gun? A little Muay Thai knowledge? Jake and Jerry scared of her? Lol. Ok. Good. Let's build on this.
Just please don't white knight her.
Crystal Choi (meh)
And Ms. Choi, because anon specifically asked. I really don't mind her? I know she's meant to be anti-Lookism but still judges people based on their looks eh. That's fine. Pretty realistic actually. Whatever.
She can be a bit bitchy for no reason. So can I. Handwaving all that.
What I do take issue with though, is her so called title of Business Genius. Please show me the chapter where she actually does something to earn that title besides the one where other people ooh-ed and aah-ed over her in the meeting with DG.
Wow she's sooooo gorgeous. Ok good for her. If that's the route they're taking her character then at least OWN. THAT. SHIT. Use her beauty and looks to sign deals and get what she wants. GOOD. DO IT.
Zoe Park (also meh... Wait)
Sorry anon, I think 'really well written' is a bit of a reach... She does have some decent character development, starting as quite a flighty, shallow girl and then showing that she has a heart of gold, liking both Daniels and. Huh.
Wait. You're right. She is pretty well written. She's selfless and kind and loyal to her friends, putting up with Logan's bullshit. There's enough of a character arc for her from the Zoe we're introduced to at first.
And I do like that she's good at maths too.
Wasted potential
Minseong Kang (Jake's momma)
Appreciate this is the older generation and from a much more conservative culture. Saying that, I am so over the slighted and bitter housewife rotting at home while her big powerful husband cheats on her.
And then some sort of marriage redemption cos they pop out a kid. Whatever. (Sorry Jake bb, I love you).
If you were going to do that, give me the most toxic red flag shit where they are constantly at each other's THROATS. Show me how they are equals. Can't live with or without one another. That's the good kinda shit.
Leonn Lee
I just. What the fuck was this.
A girl in Burn Knuckles? A group that reeks of testerone and (positive) masculinity? Show us why she joined! Show us why she stays. SURPRISE. Main character trait?? Having a crush on Vasco.
She could have been SO interesting. And she obviously trains, why not get her to fight?
Hate for irrational reasons
Joy Hong
Listen, she's not really in enough or significant enough for me to really feel one way or another about her. BUT. The reason I HATE her is because I was trying to write a headcanon involving everyone and then I got to Joy and I was STUMPED.
Sub in a plank of wood, and it would have the same depth of personality.
Truly. Who is she apart from Jay's sister and a Daniel simp? At least everyone else has something.
Others
I don't really think about them. Sera Shin has potential I guess.
And of course a special mention to Daniel's momma. She's not exactly a unique character, but who doesn't love her?
LET. THEM. FIGHT.
Lastly. Why can't we see women fight? Like the men's fights are realistic LOL. Ultra instinct? Smashing through walls? So why are women fighting men outside the realms of this.
And yes yes. Men are SoOoOoOo strong. But can they take a kick to the balls?
Are you saying Gun Park has been training his dick and balls and would be able to eat a hit there? He wouldn't go down like a heap of shit??
HUH. TELL ME THAT.
In Summary
Mary by and large is pretty well written. Lua has improved.
I don't care much about anyone else.
And I wanna see Gun, Goo, Sammy, Vin etc. get kicked in the balls in a fight.
#is this my most disjointed rambling yet? quite possibly#if you made it to the end you sincerely deserve a medal#sorry if i've completely forgotten about any female character development loooool my bad#and sorry every time I refer to the women as females it makes me feel incel-y#lookism#lookism manhwa#lookism webtoon#lua im#mary kim#crystal choi#leonn lee#minseong kang#joy hong#wannaeatramyeon
it’s a sign! — jongho
> summary . an unexpected romance was still able to blossom despite the silence between you and him.
> genre . fluff, high-school au, mutual pining, deaf!reader, reader and wooyoung are siblings, gn!reader.
> warnings . none
(wc) > 3.6k
(sunny’s note) ☆ description of hand movements (signing) will be in korean sign language (ksl), i’ll try my best to be as general yet accurate as possible to not offend anyone. i felt exhausted these last few weeks, so i apologize for slow uploads.
Quiet, it has always been so quiet. Never heard the sounds of calm waves, or the voice of your loved ones. You didn't even know how your name was pronounced. However, you liked how quiet it was. Your ears naturally already tuned out everything, easier to sleep peacefully that way, easier to focus since there wasn't any loud sounds bothering you. It was a blessing in a curse, being deaf for you.
Your family predominantly used sign language to communicate, but speaking was still a big part between your parents and your older brother, they didn't want you to feel left out. Cochlear implants were put in consideration before, however, they were quite expensive and your parents were unsure if you were ready for it yet. So for now, you would stick with the pre-existing silence.
Of course, going to school was a struggle when you have a disability. You couldn't rely much on your peers, the pacing of each subject was different but all were equally difficult to keep up when you weren't able to listen in with the lecture. It was scary going into middle school as a deaf kid, yet, it was another kind of terror to go into high school.
"You okay?" Wooyoung asked verbally while signing at the same time. Though this was your third year already, the sound of your heart felt like it was the first day of school. Riddled with anxiety, you hesitated to leave your brother. But you nodded nonetheless, half not wanting to further bother him, half just wanting to get everything over with.
"Text me if you need anything." Your brother signed to you before bidding goodbye. There was a new homeroom teacher this year, and some of your classmates from last year were also changed around. Which meant you were back in the position of having to familiarize yourself with everyone, and having to inform people that you were deaf all over again.
Your friend changed homeroom this year, you wouldn't be able to see him too often then. You barely know anyone here, either because some of them were newcomers or you just haven't met them before. The new people looked oddly intimidating, maybe it was the anxiety talking? But there was something about them that made them seem unwelcoming.
Laying on your desk, tired from the night before since you didn't get a good night sleep. Too anxious to go to school, worried that you might overslept, or ruin your uniforms. All the worst case scenarios kept popping into your head, not letting you rest until you worn yourself out and fall asleep.
A subtle vibration sent across the surface of your desk, gently notifying you of something, a presence. You weren't expecting anyone to approach you, since everybody were occupied with their own businesses, you minded your own too. You saw his lips moving, but you could not make out anything he was saying. Terrible at reading lips, and the other person wasn't aware that you were deaf.
He was confused as well by how you were not responding, if you were intentionally ignoring him while maintaining eye-contact. You placed a single notebook on your desk, 'communicating book'—it said on the cover, written in black marker ink. This one was your fifth or seventh one, you have lost count after going through several during middle school up until recently.
'Hi, my name is Jung [Y/N], and I'm deaf so I apologize in advance if I don't response to you immediately. We can talk through this notebook!'—Holding up the notebook to him, the first page was written beforehand. You slid a pen over to him, implying that it was his turn to 'speak'. That was how most of your conversation usually begin, on very rare occasions, you might be lucky enough to meet someone who could speak sign language. But for the majority, you spoke through the pages in your notebook.
The other wrote down something on the next blank page, he then showed it to you, 'Sorry, I didn't know. I'm Choi Jongho by the way, I don't think we have met before.'
Jongho was a new student, he spent the last couple minutes at the assembly to meet the other classmates, he must have missed you back there. Though you did leave with Wooyoung right after the opening ceremony this morning, so you two wouldn't meet either way. You couldn't understand what they were saying, why would you stay there any longer?
You two seem to clicked well, he even invited you to join him for lunch already. It was a bother having to write out everything you wanted to say to him, there were just way too many topics you wanted to share. Yet, he sat there, writing down every single sentence, every thought he had on his mind to keep the conversation going until the bell would eventually break you apart.
"Mom made you lunch, be sure to eat it. Do you want to sit with me and my friends?" Wooyoung spoke along with his hands. Your brother could be quite protective at times, it made sense since you were a deaf kid running around school without one warning sign. If something were to happen to you, he might blow up.
You replied, "No need, I'm sitting with a friend." Taking out the lunch box from your bag, wrapped up delicately in a light blue plaid cloth. You could already smell the pleasant aroma of the grilled chicken your mother prepared.
"You made a friend? That's good. I'll see you later!" He pat you on the shoulder, before leaving your classroom. Jongho was sat at a table, waiting for you by the time you got down to the cafeteria. You spotted him easily by the warm brownish colour of his hair—which stood out from a majority of natural black. You sat down across from him, placing your items on the table. The lunch today didn't look all too bad. Normally you would eat the lunch provided at school, but home-cooked lunch box was a thing your mother did every first day of school, a good luck ritual of some sort.
'You brought your own lunch, what are you eating?' The words displayed on Jongho's phone screen. You shrugged, not knowing for sure. You smelt chicken, and eggs, and stir fried vegetables, that was all you could guess.
Gosh, she went all out with the presentation, you felt bad eating it now that the bear head was made out of brown rice. The vegetables were cut out like stars and hearts, decorative picks were included on top of fruits. You appreciated the effort, but a bit of embarrassment stuck in your stomach. Would the other kids make fun of you for still having your mother make you adorable lunch boxes? You wouldn't know, but you wouldn't enjoy the teasing nonetheless.
Jongho smiled, he even giggled at the sight of your lunch box. "Don't laugh!" Signing towards him, a bashful expression stood on your face.
'It's just so cute~!' He typed out on his phone, chuckling at your pouty face at his comment. At least he didn't make fun of your lunch, its childish appearance simply asking for talks. You got out your utensils that was wrapped with napkins, finally began to ease your empty stomach.
Mid-conversation, Wooyoung came by to disrupt your peace. His intentions were clearer than day, you knew him far too well to be suspicious. He came to check out your new friend, having to meet his approval to continued hanging out with you. As a compromise, he bought you the soda you liked. Though, Wooyoung could freely be as skeptical and disapproving of Jongho all he wanted. Because you, yourself, felt Jongho was genuine.
You let out a dragging sigh, 'Don't mind my brother, he acts up every time I befriend someone new.'—Explaining to the other person after you were sure your brother was a far enough distance from the table you two were sitting.
'You two seems close.'—To which you just nodded and returned to eating. Wether or not these were intrusive thoughts, unwilling to admit the fact that he found you cute when you are frustrated. All pouty and grumpy, your cheeks protruding as they were stuffed with meat, rice, and vegetables. An angry chipmunk was the only suitable comparison.
Though you established many good relationships with your peers, you mostly spent your time hanging out with Jongho. After Jongho's multiple requests of being seated next to you, your homeroom teacher finally agreed to arrange you two together. Would it be better anyways? He could assist you with academic matters when he is closer to you, win-win situation!
‘You’re learning fast!’ You excitedly complimented. Recently, he has been picking up sign language to less burden you with always having to write as your only source of communication. You were glad to help him since he was learning on his own. Again, you slowly signed each character of his name with your hand, getting him familiar with the alphabet.
“Like this?” He asked as he started moving his fingers to sign.
‘Did you just sign my name?’ Jongho only smiled after reading your text, admiring the stunned look on your face. He knew more than you had originally thought, at this pace, he would be fluent in no time!
Feeling a strong vibration ran through your forearm, his phone lit up in a split moment. It was Wednesday afternoon, which meant you had clubs to attend. Jongho held his fist under his mouth as if he was holding a microphone, he was off to practice his singing for the upcoming school festival that his band will be playing at. Before he went, he turned around to look at you one last time as good luck. You just gave him a gentle smile, while moving your opened hand in a circular motion above your fist.
You were contented with the never-ending silence you had been born into, even so, there were definitely times you wished you could hear. After you met Jongho, you have never stressed over your disability more than you were now. Every-time you passed by one of his rehearsals, seeing all the girls and guys cheering him on with so much amazement in their eyes, you couldn't help yourself from feeling left out from the crowd. You have never heard your best friend's voice, and you desperately wanted to.
"[Y/N]!" He couldn't hide his excitement when he spotted you at your desk, calling out your name as he began running towards you. Taken back by how your immediately turned your head to him, like you heard every syllable that he had just now produced.
Jongho leaned on your desk, "Did you hear what I said?" Actually, not quite. Sounds were all over the place, you have never heard your name be spoken up until recently. You took a good week to recover for your cochlear implants, during it, you had gotten a little more used with your family members' voices and the way words were pronounced. However, you would need a lot more time to learn how to talk, and learn to live with all the noises of life.
You have never knew how loud life could become, like how the sound of rain was strangely calming, but the summer of cicadas were annoying. The most pleasant sound to your ears was Jongho's voice, soft and mellow, and full of fondness. That was one of your many exceptions.
"I'm not used to this quite yet." You continued to speak with your hands. You wanted to take your hearing devices off but your mother insisted you keep it on during school, she didn't realize how much that overwhelmed you with all the new noises everyday.
Jongho brought his hand out towards you, opened and asking you for something. A bit stuck, hesitating in seconds before you took off both of your hearing devices and placed them on his palm. Instantly, every and all sounds cut off, washed out and silenced.
Solely his gentle aura remained, smiling at you with the same look as the first time you met. Though you were able to hear now, there was just this special type of noiselessness around Jongho, a comfortable silence where you didn't have to speak to keep things moving. You liked that, you liked that quiet atmosphere when you were with him. Not entirely quiet, your heart kept beating violently, making your whole chest vibrated in an inexplicable excitement. It was calling out his name, and you couldn't even talk.
You were fine with being deaf, but you adored his voice way too much to remain living like that. You would happily trade any and all other noises to only hear his in your ears. As it echoed in the depth of your heart, you wanted to push yourself more with your hearing devices just to listen to him talk and sing to you.
"Better?" He asked in signs.
"So so." Replying, fiddling with the two devices in your hands. There were so much you wanted to say to him, but you couldn't quite express them neither verbally or through signing, they were all too complicated to be accurately translated.
The day of the school festival finally came, and you were most looking forward to Jongho's performance with his band. You came with your brother at first, but then he dipped to go with his friends—which left you wandering alone around school grounds. There were many vendors in the courtyard, selling handmade goods and delicious food items—most of them were operated by clubs, and some were from sponsors that the school invited.
Seeing some of your seniors selling sandwiches, you decided to came by as support. Yeosang was one of your brother's friends who was on the working shift that hour, he immediately greeted you upon seeing your arrival at his food stand. "[Y/N], how are you?"
"I'm good. What kind of sandwich is this?" Yeosang understood sign language quite well, you didn't know how he did, but he did. He was the some of only seniors that you were friends with—though many knew you due to your connections with Wooyoung.
"Just a grilled ham sandwich with cheese and strawberry jam, do you want one? I'll make you a new one." Yeosang put on a pair of disposable plastic gloves. What an odd combo, but it could be one of those rare gems for all you know.
As you were digging into your wallet for money, Yeosang stopped you. "It's okay, it's my treat. Just don't tell anyone." Though you tried paying, Yeosang kept refusing to take any money from you.
Despite the weird mix of ingredients, it was surprisingly tasty. You might ask Yeosang for the recipe to make some at home, or some for Jongho since you couldn't leave him out from experiencing good food. And speaking about Jongho, you haven't seen him at all. You figured that he was caught up with practicing and final rehearsals since his band was the only other performers besides from the indie singer that was invited for a gig.
A song suddenly erupted from your pocket, pulling your phone out as you saw Wooyoung's name above his number, he was asking to face-time you. You placed the phone on a bench before answering, since you couldn't quite speak well and would definitely have to rely on your hands to communicate.
"[Y/N]! Where are you? I'm with Jongho if you want to talk to him!" Wooyoung's face was very close to the camera, almost shoving his nose to screen.
Hearing noises from phones like calls was still a difficulty, and sometimes those darn glitches occurred and messed up everything. You had to tell him to move the camera farther away because you couldn't quite listen in with his voice blasting in the mic, and he all-together looked stupid. "I'm sitting in the courtyard, you left me, asshole!"
"Sorry, sorry, but Seonghwa came to visit so I had to see him." Wooyoung pouted, signing an apology through the screen.
"I want to see Jongho, put him on." You told.
The camera shook violently as your brother ran to Jongho, putting the phone in front of the boy for you to see. There he was, sitting with his lyrics in hand and warming up his vocals. His chestnut hair was styled nicely, he was dressed equally more stylish than he usually was, was that really your best friend? "Jongho, say 'hi' to [Y/N]!"
"[Y/N], I'm glad you came! Are you going to see my performance later?" Enthusiasm obvious through the glints in his sweet doe eyes, under that bad boy exterior which he had on today, your Jongho still shone through.
"I'll be cheering you on in the crowd!" You assured him of your presence during his stage performance soon later. "Good luck!" Before ending the call, you moved your hand in a circular motion above your fist as something extra that you wanted to tell him. Then the call ended, as they could only see your contact flashed on the screen for a split second and fading away afterward.
Jongho turned to his senior, "What did [Y/N] sign at the end? I haven't learn that one."
Wooyoung let out a giggle, patting the younger's shoulders before dropping a bomb. "They said they love you." He gathered with his friends, "Anyways, good luck on your performance, I'll see you!"
Oh...Oh! Jongho was shaking, in a good way. The pressure wasn't about pleasing the crowd, it was about impressing you now—which was so much harder, he really wanted you to have the best of everything. Each step he took leading to the stage, you were the only thing on his mind. This performance have to be perfect, because the one he love was going to be there cheering for him. Though he couldn't spot you between the sea of people, and he was running out of time to do so. Yet, he knew you were there, somewhere. Wherever you were, please know that he felt the same.
"Everyone, let's show some support for our performers!" The crowd began sending applauses throughout the gymnasium, band members pouring out onto the grand stage with their instruments. Taking a few short minutes to get plugged in and in tuned, sound checking the microphone and amps on stage. For the first time in your life, you got to experience your first concert.
It was an original song, God, the lyrics was so him. Jongho did have quite a stage presence there, and oh did his voice sounded amazing. You hated to admit, that hearing him sing was worth all the waiting you did before you got your implants. The sound made your heart vibrated, and everything as well. Speaking metaphorically, it was love, tugging on your heartstrings as some might put it.
After the performance ended, the stage entertainment was on hold for the next ten to twenty minutes to get the other set ready. You used that free time to go find Jongho. When you found him backstage, he was already helping his other bandmates with packing their instruments and bringing amps and cables back to the music room. Not wanting to distract him since those things were heavy, you waited outside for him to finish up with post-performance stuff.
The bassist, a senior that you only have seen in school and have yet to talk to, she spotted you outside. "Are you waiting for Jongho?"
You nodded simply, a bit shy to communicate with new people today. Even though you two have never spoke to each other before, she knew that you were Jongho's friends, because of how often he brought you up in conversation during practices and rehearsal. About how he desperately wanted you to hear his songs, how he wanted to know what your voice sounded like and if you would be a good singer, and how in love he was with you.
"Jongho, hurry up, your lover is waiting for you outside!" No warning, none at all, she yelled out. Filled to the brim with embarrassment, praying that he didn't hear the last part, or wishing that your device was malfunctioning back then so you wouldn't be caught in this situation.
After a few minutes, your heart pacing in your chest, trying your best to remain calm and not lose your mind. Finally, Jongho walked out. You were on the floor, contemplating wether or not you should take off your hearing device after what happened earlier. How could someone caught you lacking like that?
"Hey, sorry for making you wait." Jongho spoke up, scaring you with the sudden emerge of sound after it was quiet for a long while.
"No! Not at all! Should we go check out the vendors together?" You awkwardly asked.
He looked a bit on edge, as if there was something he was concealing away. The smoothies didn't help out with easing him much, and you were unsure of how to bring it up to him. Did the performance not go as planned or something? The silence between the two of you was never uncomfortable like it was now.
"So...um...I love you too." He spilt out. Quietly, lacing his fingers with yours as both your hands hugged each other.
You wanted to sign in reply, but he wouldn't let go so you had to sign with an extra weight. "Who told you?!"
His pointer finger slightly curving against his middle finger which stood up straight, the others curled in. "Wooyoung?! How could he?!"
Jongho technically saved your brother from getting killed, pulling you into his embrace before you could burst and go beat up Wooyoung. He felt nice, like a cuddling bear—at least if you could ignore the studded leather jacket he was wearing. You were hinting him all this time, confessing all of your feelings through sign language. Was it obvious? Definitely. Did he know that it was a sign that you liked him romantically? Eh.
"I love you." He signed back to you.
니 인생이 망한 걸 왜 몰라 Why can’t you see that your own life’s in ruins?
그래 인터넷 세상과 현실은 꽤나 달라 That’s right, the internet world and reality are quite different
현실을 살아 live your life Live in reality, live your life
다들 정신 차리라고 맴맴매 Everyone should snap out of it, smack smack smack
전부 귀싸대기를 백백 대 You all should get slapped across the face, a hundred times over
BPP, am really really interested to read your thoughts on Seven!
*
Ask 2: Hey bpp, can i be honest?? Ive been checked out of the fandom but still keep track of any music releases. So i didnt know abt any rumors abt 7. Imagine me being kind of disappointed that it’s another english song from jk when i watched the mv😅 it feels like his most promoted songs since last year has been all eng song… idk i wanted & expted something diff… i didnt like l&r, dreamers and now 7… it’s back to back lol. Tbf i didnt like My You too and thats in korean. At least not enough to listen!again after the first listen.
Im happy that still with you is finally on spotify tho. I’ll still be waiting excited for his album whenever it comes out. Hopefully ill find something i like in it!!
**
[BPP Note: Both asks above were sent before my "I don't like it..." post. The asks posted below were sent afterwards.]
**
Ask 3:
Same here
All the hype didn't matched with the song
1. rest members songs had so much depth and substance to it while this was the cliche boy chasing a girl song. Like we always dont need deep songs but the quality could be so much better. This was like just another pop song.
I think I'll put this on same level as BAD DECISIONS. But for bad decisions, atleast the chorus was staying on my mind while for this nothing was catchy enough for us to humm. Just because it's JK it will get hype but otherwise it's so generic. I think I liked LEFT and RIGHT way better than Seven. Even the rap portion felt so unnecessary and boring.
2. MV was kinda nice because of the production but concept was too shallow, the stalking and chasing was so outdated. In my country we have like 9293928843837 MVs in this same concept that not many make the same theme songs again.
3. The choreography. We haven't seen the full version. But for tiktok they do the highlight portions if that's so mediocre idk how rest will be. It was again giving the same mediocre showing off choreography and for me backdancers ruined it with their awkward moves.
4. they wanted this song to be played everywhere around the world. But there was nothing catchy enough to attract gp or go viral on tiktok, even if we sped it up. The only way to make everyone listen is to shove it down their throat but doing payola. But idk if investing in payola is worthy for the song. I also doubt the longietivity, as for me it was boring after 2 listens. I'll rather listen Like Crazy or wildflower or closer 20 times than listening this once.
5. I HOPE he'll bring something fresh to the table for his album and don't involve this mediocre producers who uses the same formula and same superstar persona to make a song successful. He is so much talented to sing a song which is so rich in melody and lyrics. And he can produce way better songs by himself.
Prolly a 4/10 for me
*
Ask 4: troye sivan's rush (which also came out last night) is exactly what I wish Seven was. I don't mean that in a 'I expect the things JK to make to be gay' way just in the way it's a fun, very danceable, sexy summer song that doesn't pull its punches. Something about seven feels too run through a commercial sanitizer a few times, even with the explicit lyrics.
***
Hi Anon(s),
Jungkook likes to fuck.
Rather, Andrew Watt likes to fuck and thinks Jungkook can relate.
JK has been talking about wanting to show more mature and explicit sides of himself for a good long while now. So I’m glad he’s finally gotten to do that, confirming for us why he keeps getting noise complaints from his neighbours since the mattresses all over his apartment don't help.
BTS has made songs explicitly referring to sex before (though it's been mostly the rapline doing so). So it's nothing new but I guess it's cool JK gets to share with us that he too has sex.
The question I posed to my friends immediately after watching the MV is, “Do you know who's been doing A&R for BigHit since 2020? I really need to know who is doing A&R for BigHit in America because they’ve been doing an appalling job lately. I'm starting to wonder if it's an inside job cause this song is kinda ass.”
That was me ~11 hours ago.
I didn’t like the song.
I’ve streamed Seven about 20 times since then I think, took a break from the song for a few hours, watched his GMA performance, caught a few minutes of the Wlive, then listened to it again just before writing this post and…
I still don’t like it.
Jungkook did a good job on the song, Latto's verse wasn't terrible, and while the song itself isn’t bad… the song isn’t good either.
It’s painfully, and at this point it’s a pattern so I have to add, predictably, mediocre.
Reserving judgement for the album, but Anons, I agree with you for the most part. The suits at BigHit are trying but they are woefully out of touch with the reasons BTS blew up in the West in the first place. I don't even feel like spending any energy doing a review or even trying to explain what I mean. So I'll just ramble on for a bit but try to keep it brief.
---
I have to give BigHit some credit because I can see what they're going for here. Andrew Watt is a very celebrated producer in the US, he won the Grammy award for Producer of the Year in 2021, he's got A listers in his portfolio. So, he's not a cheap name to book and I can see why the suits at BigHit thought he's the genius to gift them a song clinically designed for American radio.
But that pandejo phoned it in. There isn't a lick of creativity to be found anywhere in all 3 minutes and five seconds.
It reminds me of VIBE by Jimin and Taeyang, as the closest analog to the vague dissatisfaction morphing into annoyance and then pragmatic rationalization I experienced in that same sequence when listening to it the first few times.
The song is disappointing because we've all heard it before. Too many times, and we're bored of it. We've heard JK sing this sort of song for years, as covers mostly. So on one hand, while I guess it's nice JK gets to have an American summer JB-reject pop tune of his own, it's not good enough to be the track that introduces him to the world as a solo artist.
It's fine for any white, blonde, blue-eyed heartthrob that can ride on a pretty face and implicit bias to rack up accolades, it's not good enough for Jungkook.
And BigHit needs to start using whatever leverage a US$10.6 billion market capitalization buys you in Hollywood, to insist for songs that are at least as good as the songs made by BTS members and produced by their in-house team. It's a waste of money and everybody's time to fly a battalion to LA just to record 2014's summer hit in 2023.
In my opinion.
Still With You > Stay Alive > My Time > Stay > Left & Right > My You > Dreamers > Seven
*
All that said, I can't ignore JK has a taste for songs like this, and it's not his fault the song is shit (he didn't write, compose or produce it), so technically he shouldn't be punished for it. And the song is made for radio, while it's not my personal taste a lot of people really like the song (one of my friends likes Seven the most out of all the BTS releases so far), and it will catch on with some support. So, ARMY will support it including me, just to a lesser degree than I've done so far. Fingers crossed JJK1 has something solid on it.
#For people who wanted by opinion on Angel Pt 1#take the latter sections of this post as one reason I'm not a fan of that song#Seven could've been fine as track seven on the album as an interlude or something#Not as the introductory single to JK's solo debut#Lol what a joke#Anyway#bts#jungkook#jeon jungkook#bangtan#bighit#hybe#bts fandom#bts army#JK Seven
wbk but straight from his mouth, this is simply targeted for western market. So everything from MV, songs, outfit, concept, co-artists, choreo.. all will be directed to get western gp. And even if you or me doesn't like that, it's basic pop songs which gets locals attention the most. They don't care if a Korean song matching weeknd's level is made, they don't care for soulful ballad if it's sung in Korean. Fuck they don't care if a non English speaker release a very good English song. But give some cheap lyrics, simple choreo and basic boy pursuing a girl concept they'll eat it up. Sad but that's the reality of oversaturated industry.
Anon, it’s true they like basic simple pop songs, but don’t underestimate Jimin’s impact on America.
This is Like Crazy a korean song, with only a 1 version, without any playlist and without radio, 7 months after release.
Crazy right?
Jimin always got local attention the most, but people want to downplay it.
Imagine if Jimin had the same promo Jungkook had with Seven and is going to have with Golden.
Hybe wanted to make sure Jungkook will be seen as the best and most successful soloist, but Jimin ruined it for them.
Top 5 memories 💖
Oof, this one might be a little personal, so I'm gonna hide it as much as possible zxlkvnsdd
Wonder how many people will read this >_>
1. Chatting with fren
You know who you are :3c I enjoyed making AUs and cute situations about our favorite couples and the fluffy moments our blorbos would have. I kept inserting angst, but I'm too soft for hurt/comfort alsdjfdsf Sorry about that
It's really nice to talk to someone who has a lot of the same views as me. Maybe that's a bit weird, but I enjoy us being weird together :3 I think we understand each other well, and being on the same level of weirdness makes wonderful moments for our favorite ships
And also ranting about how people ruin our blorbos xfjlsdjf They do deserve better <3
2. My old college dorm
After having two roommates for a couple of years, I spent my last year in a single dorm. While it was nice having roommates, my single dorm was very cozy to me. It was one of the bigger singles, and I got to arrange it the way I wanted it. It was also pretty quiet, and I set up some nice LED lights that made it even cozier. It was probably small for a bedroom, considering my desk and a few drawers were in my room, but I like small, almost crowded bedrooms personally
I kind of miss it
3. Religious group
I don't consider myself super religious, but I was a member of a religious group back when I was younger. While I wasn't too into the religious stuff (I follow the religion, but I'm not a devout follower), the people who were in the religious group were so kind and welcoming to me. I don't really have any close IRL friends, so being able to feel included in the group was very nice. I don't really keep in contact with them as I feel awkward, but I have very fond memories of them
I still think about them a lot
4. Getting to K-Pop
Funny story: I hated K-Pop when I was younger haha
To be fair, when you're an awkward middle school being forced to dance "Gangnam Style," you have certain feelings towards that music genre >_>
It didn't help that the only groups I knew was. Probably Twice? It was a super girly girl that doesn't personally vibe with me. And BTS. I didn't have anything against BTS at the time. It was the fans. The really. Hyper fans. You know what I mean
I only really got into K-Pop a few years ago because of Stray Kids. I think it was because I was starting to like rap music at the time, so that's also why. I used to dislike rap music too. Now I realize it's because the rap songs I came across had too many curse words in it or just didn't fit the vibe of the song that well as it was usually part of a song with a vocalist (American songs. K-Pop makes it sound better for some reason)
I have a very distinct memory of hearing SLUMP by Stray Kids for the first time. It's still my favorite song. Not only is the instrumental so good, but the vocals, raps, and emotion in the song really take my breath away. The lyrics are also very meaningful to me. The way there are 3 different versions of the song and how each one has their own unique appeal is also very nice. (I like the Korean version the most personally)
5. Getting messaged
This is probably just because I'm a lonely person, but I'm always really happy when people message me before I message them haha
I tend to have a lot of energy at times (and no energy at other times lkcxmvdks), so I'm usually the one who messages people first. I know I'm not (usually) bothering them, but it kind of feels that way at times haha
So getting messaged first always makes me happy because it means they were thinking of me and thought to message me :3 It's a nice feeling. I try to reciprocate the feeling but get embarrassed sometimes haha
Alright, let's hope no one reads all this >_> If you did though, here's a flower 🌸 Okay, bye- *runs away*
My Idol 3: Part Twenty
My Idol from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
My Idol is a South Korean competitive reality dating game show. It currently airs on Saturday nights on Jae-bummer’s blog. First broadcast in 2016, the show offers the opportunity for a lucky fan to go on seven blind dates with seven idols. The idol plans the date with the show throwing in a specific mission to complete during the day. At the end of the initial dates, the show opens up an audience vote to decide what four idols will move on to the second date.
My Idol 3: The Series
.
You imagined from Jinyoung's perspective; you looked a bit like a fish gasping for air. Opening your mouth only to close it again when no words came, you grappled with what to do.
Pulling himself up into a much less seductive position, (albeit still hot - it was THE Park Jinyoung after all) he patted the bed lightly beside him and smiled. "Sit."
Your brain instantly obeyed, dropping your body like dead weight beside his.
"I bet you're wondering why you're here with me," Jinyoung smiled easily. "And not Jack-"
"Y/N!" a familiar, gravelly voice called as it came hurtling into the room.
Belly-flopping into both you and Jinyoung's laps, Jackson splayed across your thighs, a wide smile on his face.
"Yah," Jinyoung groaned, immediately pushing the older man's legs away, causing Jackson to roll toward the ground. "You didn't even let me get to the buildup."
Plopping unceremoniously onto the hard wood floor, Jackson winced. "I was excited."
"Evidently," Jinyoung grumbled, shaking his head.
Trying to hide your amusement, you watched as Jackson crawled back toward the bed. Pulling himself to his knees, he set his arms gently across your legs and smiled up at you. "Hello, gorgeous."
"And it begins!" Jinyoung groaned. "I couldn't even flirt for five minutes without you ruining it."
"It's my date," Jackson bickered back. "Why should I let you flirt with them?"
"Because," Jinyoung said softly. Turning toward you, he reached up to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear. Biting his lip slowly, he let it pop out from his teeth before smiling. "I'm good at it."
His methods were much more efficient than you had anticipated, causing your soul to leave your body before slamming back into it again. What in the Wattpad was that?
"So am I!" Jackson whined. "Y/N, tell him how much I romanced you on our first date."
"Oh yeah," you nodded, still struggling to get your bearings. "So much romance. Very...wow."
Jackson rolled his eyes as Jinyoung cackled.
"Jinyoung's obvious jealousy aside," Jackson sighed. "Are you ready for the best slumber party ever?"
"I'm going to own Season 4 when they draft me for this show," Jinyoung pouted. "Mark my words."
"Who came up with the idea for a slumber party?" you asked, noting how very themed it was. You hadn't noticed it when you walked in, but there were three sleeping bags rolled up and set at the head of the bed, each with their own signature 90's cartoon character. The fairy lights you had thought came default in the room were actually haphazardly strung Christmas lights. There were also even more snacks spread out on the bedside tables.
"Me," Jinyoung and Jackson said in unison, only to turn on each other. "You?!"
"I've always wanted to have a good, old-fashioned y2k slumber party," Jackson challenged. "I trained a lot as a kid and didn't have time to do fun stuff like this."
"You may have always wanted to do it," Jinyoung countered. "But I was the one who suggested it."
Narrowing his eyes and tilting his head to the side, Jackson gave a small nod in acknowledgement. "Okay, maybe I remember that."
Watching the two of them bicker back and forth was one of the purest forms of entertainment you had had in a while.
"Why don't we get started on some snacks?" Jackson continued cheerfully, springing from his spot on the floor. Grabbing you by the wrist, he dragged you through the camera men and back into the seating area. "Pick your poison."
Your eyes weren't sure where to land first. Every Korean chip and candy that you were familiar with was clustered on the tabletop. There were even snacks from your home country, which was a special surprise.
You glanced up to Jackson who was busy watching you. "Pick for me?"
A slow smile spread across his lips as he began to nod. "How about this," he hummed, putting a bag of shrimp chips in one hand. "And this to balance it out." He placed Lotte chocolate in the opposite hand. "Go sit and I'll grab us all some drinks."
Doing as you were told, you waddled with your snacks (you had admittedly grabbed one or two more) and cuddled up on the sofa.
Jinyoung followed behind, a bag of seaweed snacks in his hand as he dropped heavily in one of the accent chairs. "I have to ask, Y/N. What are your intentions with my friend?"
A shit eating grin spread across his face as you heard Jackson bark laugh from the kitchenette.
You snorted softly with amusement. It was incredibly clear how important Jackson and Jinyoung were to each other, so even though Jinyoung was phrasing it in a joking manner, there was a hint of seriousness behind the question.
"I have only good intentions," you said carefully. "While not every choice has been my own, I'm really valuing the time that I've spent with Jackson, and I look forward to getting to know him better."
"What a diplomatic answer," Jinyoung hummed. "Do you think you have a handle on his personality from what you've seen so far?"
"Maybe a certain side of it," you nodded. "He's very caring, especially when it comes to his family, both found and biological."
You watched Jinyoung's lips twitch at that. The way you saw it, Got7 was the family that Jackson got to choose, and he was all the better for it.
"He's got a fiery side to him," you continued. "But in different ways. He's fiery in his passion for what he's doing and, in his communication, to get his point across. He's also fiery in a simmering sense."
"Do tell."
You felt your cheeks grow warm. "Well, he has no issue conveying what he wants emotionally...or physically."
"Physically?" Jinyoung coughed, wide-eyed.
"Calm down," Jackson chuckled, placing a kiss on the top of your head before handing a drink to his member. "I tried to kiss them. No big deal."
"But I'm guessing he was very clear while trying to do that," Jinyoung finished, gladly accepting the bottle he was offered.
"It's important to be clear," Jackson nodded, taking a seat beside you. "I never want to pressure someone into something they don't want."
"Which brings me to my next point," you smiled. "He's both nice and kind. He's nice while other people are around, and very respectful. But in private, he's extremely kind. It's in his words and actions that not everyone gets to see. He doesn't need to prove that side of himself to anyone. He just gives it freely."
"Well said," Jinyoung agreed.
Jackson let out a chirp of approval, a cheesy smile on his face. "I could listen to you two talk about me all day."
"Which means we should stop immediately," Jinyoung laughed.
"No, no," you interrupted. "I want you to tell me about him. From a friend's perspective."
Jinyoung took a deep breath before leaning all the way back in his seat. He eyed his friend wearily.
"I met Jackson on his very first day in Korea," Jinyoung started. "I asked one of the managers if he was an actor from Hong Kong because he was so handsome."
Jackson beamed as he slapped the air. "You are a good flirt."
Jinyoung smiled before shaking his head. "We went out to a restaurant and started to get to know each other. I liked him from the very beginning. He was just so free. I know we all see this side of him that's so bright and clever, but really, he's one of the calmest people in private. He's a grounding force."
"Someone has to be," Jackson chuckled. "Half of you have the worst tempers."
Ignoring that barb, Jinyoung continued. "I like to say that he's my teacher of life. He tells me all the time that I can do anything. You'll find with this career that a lot of people will say that, but with him, you actually believe it. He has so much faith in you that you start having faith in yourself."
"Needless to say," Jackson said, emotion clear in his voice. "We're friends for life."
"We are," Jinyoung agreed.
"He's a true-hearted friend," Jackson nodded. "I know this wasn't a question about him, but in fifty or sixty years, I think we'll still be spending time together."
"Little old men," Jinyoung laughed. "Pop, locking, and dropping it."
"I hope I'm there to see it," you smiled.
"Me too," Jackson hummed, wiggling his brows. "Cause that'll mean I won."
"Not necessarily," Jinyoung said, waving a finger. "You could just be friends."
"Okay, that's fair," Jackson agreed. "If I didn't get another option, I think I'd be happy with that too."
"Thanks," you grinned. "Hopefully you'll have a high opinion of me someday as well. Hearing you two talk about each other is adorable."
"Adorable," Jinyoung scoffed. "Please don't tell another living soul."
"I hate to break it to you," Jackson whispered. "But there's been cameras recording this whole time."
Jinyoung sprung forward, clutching his chest as he gasped. "How was I supposed to know?! I should have charged a higher price to say all of that."
Jackson giggled. "Before my friend here makes me pay a compliment tax, why don't we play a game?"
"Sure," you agreed easily. "What did you have in mind?"
"Weeeell," he sang. "It wouldn't be a real slumber party without a game of truth or dare, would it?"
You shuttered internally. While you hadn't been to an abundance of sleepovers in your day, you had been forced into truth or dare more than once. The game could go one of two ways; one, incredibly boring because everyone chooses truth, or two, grow out of control as people try to out-dare each other. Judging your company, you were leaning toward the latter.
"Alright Y/N," Jinyoung said, mischievousness dancing across his features. "Truth or dare?"
You sighed, knowing that picking truth would be a cop out, but didn't want to commit to whatever twisted dare these two could come up with. "Truth."
"What's your worst fear?" Jinyoung asked. "Specifically, about this show?"
You weren't sure what kind of question you had been expecting, but it definitely wasn't that. Jinyoung had pin-pointed the exact thing that could instantly turn your brain to mush. You tried to tread water in the sea of problems that My Idol presented. Due to recent events, one of your newest fears was that you or one of the guys would get injured. Some of them already had and that was pain enough. The thought that it could get worse wasn't a line that you wanted to cross right now. No, you'd choose to ignore the chaos of the security issues and go with something that had been one of your fears when the show started.
"I'm afraid that I'll fall in love with more than one person," you admitted. "And that I'll have to break their heart and my own to make a decision."
Jackson's hand quickly found yours and gave it a soft squeeze. "You're not in an enviable position."
"Everyone thinks dating idols is all fun and games until you actually like them," Jinyoung smirked. "I think that's an easy fear to understand. Do you think it's possible to fall in love with more than one person at a time?"
"Hey, hey," Jackson said. "Only one question per truth."
"It's okay," you chuckled. "I didn't think so before I started this show, but now that I'm in it... It's starting to become a worry."
Jinyoung nodded. "I'm sure it'll all turn out fine. You just have to love Jackson best."
You let out a surprised laugh. "I'll see what I can do."
"Jinyoungie," Jackson cooed. "Truth or dare?"
"Dare," the man across from you said confidently.
"I dare you to go to our neighbors across the hall," Jackson grinned. "And ask them to have a dance party with you."
"In the hall?" Jinyoung winced.
"In the hall," Jackson confirmed.
"Isn't that a little much?" Jinyoung whined. "They're just people minding their own business. What if-"
"You could choose truth," Jackson teased. "If you're a... chicken."
Jinyoung's expression smoothed before quirking a brow. "I'm not a chicken."
"I dunno," you said, joining in on the fun. "Sounds suspiciously like something a chicken would say."
"God, you two are made for each other," Jinyoung grumbled, pushing out of his seat. "Where's the speaker?"
And that was how you and Jackson stood behind Jinyoung as he spun what had to have been an 80-year-old woman to the sweet sounds of JJ Project's Bounce (Jackson's request).
"That was cruel and unusual punishment," Jinyoung whined, plopping back into his chair.
You and Jackson dissolved into a fit of giggles as you both fell onto the couch.
"This has to be the best day of my life," Jackson cackled. "Why did she try to give you money after?"
"Did she think it was a service?" you gasped between peals of laughter. "That she was tipping you?"
"Oh god," Jinyoung groaned. "She kept trying to tuck it into my sweater pocket. And when I refused, she put a finger up to my lips to shush me."
The visual was enough to cause you and Jackson to laugh even harder.
'Okay, enough!" Jinyoung pleaded. "Jackson, please, truth or dare?"
"This isn't about me!" Jackson screeched. "This about you and your Host business!"
"Truth or dare," Jinyoung repeated through his fingers now covering his face.
"Dare, obviously," Jackson said, finally letting his laughter wind down.
"I dare you to jump into the pool," Jinyoung said, lifting his hands to shoot a pointed look at his member. "With all your clothes on."
"Now where's the fun in that," Jackson said, giving you a quick wink. "Let's do it."
Following your two dates dutifully outside, you stood beside Jinyoung and waited. The night air had gotten a bit chilly, but the pool seemed to be heated. Getting in didn't sound like a totally bad idea.
Crossing your arms, you watched as Jackson made sure the sliding door leading to the deck was as open as possible. Picking the seating area as his starting point, he began a full sprint out of the door and toward the pool. Just as he shouted something you couldn't make out, you were scooped into the air as well, quickly plummeting toward the water.
"Jackson!" you squealed seconds before your head went under. You moved your legs frantically underneath you until your toes touched the tiles at the bottom. Giving a solid push off, you broke through the surface and gasped for air.
"I have you; I have you," Jackson cooed, wrapping his arms around your torso and pulling you toward him.
"You certainly do not have me!" you shouted, smacking at his chest. "What the hell, Jackson?"
"It seemed like a good idea at the time," he winced. "Maybe not?"
"Absolutely not!" you groaned. "I didn't bring a change of clothes, you absolute turd."
Despite the insult, Jackson grinned. "But I got us all matching pajamas."
"Of course, you did," you sighed, shaking your head. While your irritation was slowly starting to burn away, you tried to calm yourself even further. Jackson seemed to recognize that taking you with him may not have been the best decision, but you could live in the moment. Who could say that they ever got to experience something like this? "At least the pool is warm."
"I definitely wouldn't have taken you in if it wasn't," Jackson nodded. Sticking out his bottom lip, he said quietly, "I'm sorry if what I did made you upset though. Sometimes I just don't think."
Sighing, you ran your fingers over the plains of Jackson's face, wiping the water away as you went. "You were just trying to have fun."
"But I should have considered how you felt," Jackson nodded. "Just because I'm trying to have fun doesn't mean I have to pull you into it. Literally."
"Valid," you said, your heart melting as he offered up genuine apologies. "I forgive you."
"Good," he smiled. Turning away from you, he shouted at Jinyoung who was still hovering at the water's edge. "Jinyoung-ah! Get in here!"
"Are you kidding?" Jinyoung called back. "This sweater is cashmere!"
"Party pooper!"
"Nag!"
"I can tell you two really love each other," you chuckled, watching Jinyoung's retreating frame as it went back inside.
"Oh, I'm convinced he can't stand me sometimes," Jackson laughed. "But we're like brothers. We've been there for each other through some of the toughest moments of our lives... do you have friends like that?"
"I do," you nodded, letting Jackson glide around the pool with you in his arms. You tried to ignore the way the water had taken up residence in his collarbone, or how his shirt was now nearly see-through, clenching his chest as if it were painted on.
"What do they think about you doing the show?" he asked, finally stopping as he pressed your back against the side of the pool.
"Well, one of them also applied," you chuckled. "We both kind of did it as a joke. It's one of those things where you never think you would make it."
"But then you did," he smiled.
"Then I did," you sighed. "I haven't been able to talk to them as much as I usually do...and obviously I can't go out with them, but they're supportive when they can be. They send me a lot of food deliveries."
"if that's not the makings of a true friend, I don't know what is," Jackson mused. "What do you think they would say about you if they were here?"
"Curious about me?" you teased. His body was so close now, you couldn't help but have flashbacks of your first date. Just like it did in the hallway, having him only inches away made you feel slightly off balance. You hadn't had a single drop of liquor tonight, but you could have sworn you were intoxicated.
"Always," he said quietly. "I obviously don't know them...but what I've seen is someone brave. I see someone who willingly gives while the world takes. I see someone who can stand to be protected even though they think they need to protect everyone else."
"If only I could," you whispered. "But I think they would say something similar? Or at least I hope they would. I don't necessarily have the highest opinion of myself, but they seem to for whatever reason."
"Well, go on," he urged with another one of his flawless grins.
"They'd probably say I'm a nerd," you thought out loud. "That I read too much, eat too little, and stress about everything. I've been trying to do better with that by the way, but this competition makes it difficult."
"I think a healthy amount of stress is okay," Jackson nodded. "It drives you forward. It becomes a problem when it holds you back."
"Man, Jinyoung really got that spot on with the life teacher comment, didn't he?"
Jackson chuckled, shaking his head. "I think of him the same way though. I think we've both just lived so much life for our few years that it's natural for us to see things a different way."
"That makes sense," you hummed. "You had to grow up fast in a lot of ways."
"Maybe," he shrugged, adjusting his hold on you to circle around your waist. You couldn't help the small shiver that ran down your spine. "I think our generation sees a lot of that in general."
Allowing the conversation to lapse into a comfortable silence, you were hesitant to speak again. "Were you happy it was me?"
Jackson eyed you, amusement clear on his face. "Well, I didn't have much choice, now did I?"
You laughed, immediately feeling foolish. "I guess not."
"But to answer your question, I am so excited it was you. I don't know any different, but I wouldn't want to."
You nodded, trying to take both him and his words in. Before meeting Jackson, you had never really anticipated his introspective side. He was such a blast of energy and passion that it was easy for his quiet moments to get lost. The time you were sharing now felt incredibly special, despite having a boom mic hovering a few inches over your head.
Turning your eyes to Jackson's, you weren't surprised to see him watching you back. A layer of steam was starting to congregate just above the heated water, making the moment all the more dream-like.
"I think now would be a good time to say, I like you, Y/N," he said quietly, separating the space between you to rest his forehead against yours. He took a deep breath and blew it out of his nostrils.
"I like you too," you said easily. Probably too much considering it was only your second date.
"Am I...am I allowed to kiss you this time?" he asked, not bothering to look up. His forehead remained still against yours, his eyes closed.
"I dunno," you said, slowly turning it over in your mind. "What would you do if I said no?"
"Try again next time."
"What if there is no next time?" you whispered.
This caused his eyes to pop open. "Then I guess I'll have to get creative."
Smiling to yourself, you tried to really think it through. You were worried that kissing Chan had set a certain precedent, but you shouldn't even factor that in. Jackson was his own independent person that you were building a different relationship with. This one was just as amazing, just as much of a whirlwind. There was no denying your attraction to him, both physically and mentally. If you had met outside of the show, you were pretty certain you would have let him kiss you on the first date.
You licked your lips before deciding to make the first move. You wanted to catch him off guard just this once.
In a swift motion, you caught his mouth with yours, wrapping your arms tightly behind his neck in the process. You let your fingers rove through the back of his hair, tugging gently as he moved to get a better vantage. He let go of your waist, pressing you further into the wall, and moving his hands to rest on the lip of the pool. All boxed in, he leveraged the space by pressing his lips roughly against yours, breathing heavily through his nose as he captured your mouth again and again.
You could easily die in his arms, kissing him forever. He conveyed so much in one small motion, it was difficult to get all of your nerve endings working succinctly. He was such a shock to the system, you could feel the kiss all the way down to your toes and at the ends of your fingertips.
Dragging one hand from the back of his scalp to rest on his collarbone, you gradually reached up to grip his chin. Ever so slowly you began to push his face away from yours. His mouth continued to fight forward, causing you to giggle.
"Jackson," you said breathlessly.
"More," he groaned.
"We're going to get pruney," you protested. Really, you were scared of allowing things to go even further, especially with cameras lingering nearby. You knew he would never take things too far, but you also did not want to arm the My Idol crew with an hour's worth of footage of the two of you making out.
"I'll live my life happily as a raisin."
"While you would be the most handsome raisin in all the land," you continued. "We should get out."
Motioning to the cameras with your eyes, Jackson finally caught on. Groaning, he moved his body away from yours and started swimming toward the steps.
After you had both gotten out and toweled off to the best of your ability, you were given a colorful pair of pajamas to change into. The pants were a lime green plaid and the top had a small green bird on it, your name stitched underneath.
"The monograms were a nice touch," Jinyoung said lazily from his spot in the corner of the couch. He had a fluffy, bow headband on and several pimple patches covering what you thought was already flawless skin.
"Only the best for the best," Jackson grinned. Handing you a sheet mask, he moved to lay down on the sofa, resting his head on your lap. "Can you put this on for me?"
"How can I say no when you've already gotten so comfy?" you chuckled, pushing his hair back from his face. Your date hummed happily as you pulled the mask over his skin, flattening it out and smoothing in all of the serum. By the time you were finished, you looked up to find Jinyoung asleep, one of his under eye patches sliding slowly down his face. Judging by his fluttering eyes, Jackson wasn't far behind.
"Do you want to get in the bed?" you asked softly. Wedged between you and Jinyoung, he couldn't be comfortable.
"No," he grumbled. "Do you want to get in the bed?"
You looked longingly toward the main part of the suite. The option did seem incredibly nice after another long day.
"I'm fine here," you decided. If he didn't want to move, you didn't want to disturb him.
"Okay," Jackson whispered. "I'm okay with wherever you want to go...just as long as you stay."
You tried to combat the fuzzy feeling spreading warmly across your chest. He was so soft and beautiful in this moment. You didn't have the words to describe how it made you feel.
Just as his breathing finally began to even out, you heard a steady knock on the door.
"Y/N?" Insu called lightly through the barrier. "We've got a problem."
