Beautiful Triple Twist, but the exit could have been smoother. Mistakes on the side by sides from both of them it looked like. Once again mistakes from both on the side by sides. Nice throw. Nice death spiral. Nice pair spin. A bit forward on the throw. Nice lift. Miss on that lift, didn’t get her up all the way and they had to abort. Looked like the timing was off. Nice lift.
There were some really nice elements from Hailey Kops and Evgeni Krasnopolski of Israel. There were some definite mistakes, and it wasn’t their best day for sure.

Ghilardi/Ambrosini 🇮🇹
I don’t like the weird music cut in the middle but he’s out there absolutely feeling it! He’s totally having the time of his life. Happy people make me happy, great job!!
Kops/ Krasnopolski 🇮🇱
Cannot not think of Javi with this music. It was not the program they probably wanted and their lifts scare me but they made it all the way here so good job!
Hase/Seeger 🇩🇪
Ughhhh! What a shame! They are so beautiful to watch. I’m sure you will kill it in the next seasons, don’t give up! I believe in you 💜
Moore-Towers/Marinaro 🇨🇦
Even if it’s a bit of a corny program I like it for them, it suits them. They made some mistakes but given all the mental stress they had to go through this year, I commend them for everything they did. Her dress is very cute too. Is it unpopular to say I like their ending pose?
James/Radford
If one doesn’t have anything nice to say, better not say it 🙃
Barquero/Zandron 🇪🇸
Vamos España!! Their love can be felt through the screen and watching them is special. If they keep growing the way they have I can’t even fathom how far they could get. They made me tear up a little bit. Terrific job 🇪🇸🤝🇲🇽
Della Monica/Guarise 🇮🇹
I have a soft spot for this pair. They are retiring with this skate so it’s a bit sad to let them go after so long. They are beautiful skaters and seeing her cry is just an emotional thing. Thanks for everything!!!!
Safina/Berulava 🇬🇪
Beautiful elements wow! Hopefully this Georgian team can keep growing into a whole school in the country. Aside from a lift that looked a bit dangerous, it was amazing! This is the kind of skate you want to show the world. Deserved Season’s Best!

Warsaw cup entry #37
Pairs Free program
Kops/Krasnopolski(ISR)
Thoughts: Hailey has one of those smiles you can just get lost in. And her dress is just divine.
Chan/Howe(USA)
Thoughts: the mix of colors in Emily’s dress, so fun. Spencer has a pretty smile, but he needs a haircut.
Dudek/Deschamps(CAN)
Thoughts: Maxime has a pretty side profile. Their lifts are attractive, but I wasn’t so sure about the exit of the last one. I know it’s supposed to look like that, but it just looked awkward.
Matte/Ferland(CAN)
Thoughts: this music was depressing and it didn’t help that this program was trying very hard not to be a trainwreck. I love what Lori did with her hair though.
Conti/Maci(ITA)
Thoughts: it took a minute for Sara’s dress to grow on me. The periwinkle color helped.

Solid Triple Twist. She fell on the side by sides. She fell on the throw. Nice death spiral. Nice position on the lift, but a bit awkward coming out. Solid step sequence. Solid side by side spins.
That was a rough program from Hailey Kops and Evgeni Krasnopolski of Israel - a rough day for Hailey. Here’s to doing better in the free!
44.45 and into third place behind Kovalev/Kovalev and Holichenko/Darenskyi.

The first of two days of the John Nicks Pairs Challenge took place today.
Chloe Panette and Kieran Thrasher of Canada - the only non-US team on that level - are in the lead after the short program in Junor Pairs.
In Senior Pairs, Alexa Knierim and Brandon Frazier of the US have a dominate lead by about ten points over fellow US teams Jessica Calalang and Brian Johnson and Chelsea Liu and Danny O’Shea. The highest ranked non-US team is Alina Pepeleva and Roman Pleshkov of Russia who are fifth.
(The other non-US teams are Hailey Kops and Evgeni Krasnopolski of Israel and Greta Crafoord and John Crafoord of Sweden. Chloe Choinard and Livio Mayr of Austria were entered, but withdrew.)

2021 Nebelhorn Trophy Preview - Pairs, Dance, and Olympic Team Event
Please note that I am not mentioning skaters who are competing, but not competing for Olympics spots. There are skaters factoring into the competition but not the remaining Olympic spots!
As a reminder, there are 3 spots in Pairs, and 4 in Ice Dance.
Pairs
The most likely pair to qualify here is Spain (Barquero / Zandron, after their stunning international debut at Lombardia).
That leaves two more spots, and so many countries.
The most likely qualifiers are Georgia (Safina / Beruleva in their senior debut, and second international competition as a team) and Israel (Kops / Krasnopolski – his seventh partner, I believe). However, they are by no means favorites for the other two spots. A lot can happen in this competition, and there are several countries who could factor in depending on what happens.
Those countries are: Australia (Golubeva / Golutopoulus Moore – also senior debut and second international competition for them), China (Wang / Huang, confirming third spot earned at Worlds), Croatia (Petranovic / Souza Kordeiru), France (Kerevin / Pierre), and Great Britain (Jones / Boyajdi).
Ice Dance
The most likely qualifers from this event are, I believe: Georgia (Kazakova / Reviya, who have not competed since the 2020 Europeans), Czech Republic (Tascherlova / Taschler), and Finland (Turkkilla / Versluis).
That leaves one spot, and many countries: Armenia (Garabedian / Proulx Senecal), Australia (Harris / Chan), Great Britain (Fear / Waddell, confirming second spot earned at Worlds), Hungary (Yanovskaya / Luckas), Italy (Portesi Peroni / Chrastecky, confirming second spot earned at Worlds), and South Korea (Min / Eaton).
It is worth pointing out that I do not think they are any clear favorites in this event, so anything can happen!
Team Event
Now, the Team Event works as thus:
The top 10 countries after the Grand Prix season qualify for the Team Event at the Olympics. To be eligible, the countries must have qualified for the individual events in at least three disciplines. If they qualify three (but not all four), they can send a skater/team for that one discipline to compete in the Team Event only.
There are several countries who are already eligible: Canada (all four), the US (all four), Russia (all four), China (all four), Japan (all four), Czech Republic (only missing Ice Dance), Germany (only missing Men), and Italy (only missing Ladies).
There are countries who are only missing one discipline (meaning they have two, and only need one more to be eligible): France (has Men and Dance, and likely to get entries in both of the others), South Korea (doesn’t have any pairs, so needs M/E to qualify), Georgia (has both Singles, and is likely to get the other two as well), Great Britain (has Ladies and Dance, needs one of the other two), and Austria (has Ladies and Pairs, doesn’t have a Dance team entered, so needs Zandron to qualify).
Sweden would technically be here, too, but as they are likely to relinquish the two spots they already have, and only have a Pair entered here (who is not in contention), so they aren’t in consideration for this, unfortunately.
There’s only country that has only entry currently who I realistically think even has a shot here, and that is Hungary. They have qualified in Pairs, so they’d need to do so in two of the other three disciplines. I don’t think they have a shot in Men’s, a very outside shot in Women’s, though they do have a decent shot in Ice Dance.
Australia deserves a mention here, as well. They have no entries currently, and it’s going to be a tough road for them here, but Nebelhorn has been good to them before (Craine won this event four years ago). All of their skaters (aside from perhaps Kerry), would need personal bests here to qualify – but it is absolutely not out of the question.

Stumble coming out of the Triple Twist. Hand down from her on the side-by-sides. A bit low on the landing of the throw, but she got it out. Solid side-by-sides. Nice lift, and loved that exit, but could have been a bit smoother. Nice choreographic sequence. Nice death spiral. Nice lift. Nice lift. Solid pairs spin.
That was a solid program from Daria Danilova and Michel Tsbia of the Netherlands. They had some really good elements, though there were some mistakes, but still - solid job. Good for them.
That music change was weird, though. Like “All by Myself” to “Friends Theme” like... o.O Okay.
99.03, 148.55 and 1st place ahead of Broda/Betegon Martin and Kops/Krasnopolski.

Far apart on the side by sides. Solid Double Twist. Miss from her it looked like on the side-by-sides. Nice lift. Hand down on the throw. Nice lift. Nice throw. Nice choreographic sequence. Nice lift, but the exit could have been smoother. Nice death spiral. Nice pairs spin.
That program definitely had some rough moments from Dorota Broda and Pedro Betegon Martin of Spain. They need more time to gell and to smooth things out a bit.
84.92, 133.58 and 1st ahead of Kops/Krasnopolski.

Nebelhorn Trophy Pairs Free #10, #7, #1, #11
Kops/Krasnopolski(ISR)
Thoughts: they tried very hard to fix the program after Hailey’s fall. I’m just not sure they succeeded.
Holichenko/Darenskyi(UKR)
Thoughts: they lost a little bit of steam there at the end.
Hernik/Wozniak(POL) Thoughts: I kept waiting for the fall but not even I was ready for that. That did not look fun.
Lukashevich/Stepanov(BLR)
Thoughts: there’s something special about these pirate style programs. They seem so fun
Nebelhorn Trophy Pairs Short #2, #3, #4
Holichenko/Darenskyi(UKR)
Thoughts: Sofia was wonderful. Artem, I’m still trying to wrap my head around.
Hernik/Wozniak(POL)
Thoughts: this was fun. Even if the number wasn’t very big, they looked like they were just happy to be there.
Lukashevich/Stepanov(BLR)
Thoughts: Alexander kept trying to make me like him but I’m not sure he did. Bogdana, on the other hand was magnificent.
Maryland VS Ohio State And Central Michigan
Denelle Pedrick Central Michigan Beam: She held onto that stick. Good for her.
