Fr., 6.6.2025, 21:00 Uhr: ROBBIE THUNDER (AU) + KEEOSK (KI) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

ROBBIE THUNDER
Newcastle’s one man rock n roll band Robbie Thunder is on tour Europe wide this summer. Off the back of 6 full length albums last year, Robbie Thunder takes his drum machine and fast brand of rock n roll on the road for a long run of shows. Robbie Thunder FFO: The Ramones, Jay Reatard, Elvis Presley Talk Heavy FFO: Motion City Soundtrack, Jimmy Eat World Electric Prawns 2 FFO: Gee Tee, Billiam Prink FFO: Snooper, Ghoulies
KEEOSK

Fr., 18.10.2024, 21:00 Uhr: THE UNKNOWNS (AU) + THE HAERMORRHOIDS (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

THE UNKNOWNS
Since forming in late 2014, The Unknowns (Joshua Hardy – vocals/guitar, Nathan Montgomery – bass, Tom Butler – drums, Eamon Sandwith - guitar) have brought their old- fashioned authentic rock n’ roll to numerous venues around Australia, including but not limited to: The Triffid, 170 Russell, Sol Bar, The Gov, The Zoo, The Tote, Factory Theatre and the Barwon Club. The band has also supported North American power pop trio Mean Jeans on their recent Australian tour, and Melbourne punk pioneers the Meanies. They have toured and performed alongside Ed Kuepper (The Saints), Frenzal Rhomb, The Chats, Clowns, Pist Idiots and countless more. Driven by their passion for timeless music expressing honest emotions, the band delivers an unassuming simplicity through sharing their garage rock and power pop song writing sensibilities. With dynamic live sets and their enigmatic stage presence, The Unknowns perform with a sense of freedom and passion that is indicative of not only their youthful enthusiasm for all things punk rock, but also with the ability to harbour and nurture their strong bond as friends and band mates hailing from Southeast Queensland. The Unknowns earnt the opportunity to release their first EP via independent Australian label Bargain Bin Records, releasing a 7” single in August of 2019 that included tracks from their first full length LP, ‘Nothing Will Ever Stop’. Their new album, entitled ‘East Coast Low’ is a compilation of songs written by all members of the band and was recorded at Hunting Ground Studios in Brisbane. Engineered by Cody McWaters, the group spent a week in the studio refining what will be their sophomore LP. In the opening track, lead guitarist and vocalist Joshua Hardy sings: “Ill do what I have to do, to get home back to you” - his voice full of echo and a sense of timeless desperation. Similarly, on the track ‘Thinking About You’ he laments: “Every point of latitude, makes me think of my position”. The songs have a romantic overture that is reminiscent of the first 3 Ramones albums, pouring ones heart out through the medium of well written garage punk music. The riffs are all power, full of hooks and fascinating melodic guitar interplay between Hardy and Sandwith.
THE HAERMORRHOIDS
The worlds best popunk band right now. Everybody knows it. Everybody loves it.

Fr., 24.11.2023, 21:00 Uhr: DESTROY ALL GONDOLAS (IT) + GŪTARA KYŌ (JP) Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

GŪTARA KYŌ
For our 200th release, we found the ultimate band in Kobe, Japan: GŪTARA KYŌ, which coincidentally roughly translates to “Crazy Slovenlies”. Blaring this record brought us back to the first time we heard BAD BRAINS as teenagers, which sent blood rushing into the skull, pulsing & curdling in our adolescent disbelief & delight, the kind of sensation adults try to recreate by sniffing things into their noses. There is a youthful fury & hilarity in Matsumoto-san’s Japanese hollerings, over a piercing skree from album start to finish which is at times almost painful on the eardrums. Somehow simultaneously harnessing the staggering garage punk exuberance of TEENGENERATE and the blistering hardcore urgency of LOS CRUDOS, perfect imperfection has been achieved on this immaculate 10-inch slab of filth. Previously only available as a CD on Bakudan (JP), now on Slovenly’s Mondo Mongo imprint. (Slovenly)
DESTROY ALL GONDOLAS
Insto-surf pushed to the limit of a frantic black-thrash metal aural assault, “Laguna Di Satana” is a weird garage-punk tale evoking post-apocalyptic, exotic landscapes, often trespassing the wall of sound of hardcore with sporadic bitterly ironic shouted lyrics both in english and italian. In the twisted minds of Destroy All Gondolas references goes from LINK WRAY to BLACK SABBATH to MAYHEM to JOHNNY THUNDERS.

Fr., 3.11.2023 21:00 Uhr: MITRAILLE (BE) + THE CAVE RIOT (HH) Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
MITRAILLE
The city of Antwerp, Belgium may be primarily known for it’s harbour, cathedral and diamond trade, but anyone who scratches beneath the surface can find a thriving and vibrant underground scene. Especially in the last few years the great output of hardcore and garage punk bands makes one suspect that, besides massive PFOS pollution and record breaking cocaine residuelevels, there must be something in the water. Mitraille burst unto this scene in 2018 with a sound that takes the bursting-at-the-seams energy of modern day basement hardcore and injects it into a strain of diseased garage- and post punk. Think Sleaford Mods if they released 7 inches on Total Punk, Ty Segall Band’s Slaughterhouse if it was recorded at 4 AM in a beer-drenched living room or Uranium Club if they were Motörhead roadies with anger management issues. Mitraille have since released three EP’s before recruiting Rafael Valles Hilario (Tuff Guac, Brorlab, MOAR) behind the drums and recording their debut full-length ‘Mitraille’. The album was released May 25th on Ronny Rex and Belly Button Records and followed up by a nine day tour of Germany and Switzerland, and spots on the mainstage of the legendary Sjock Festival and the Street Stage of Rock Herk. As ever, Mitraille are ready to blast their way through as many European stages as possible. So crank that album, get one of those three idiots on the phone and get ready for a wild fucking ride.
THE CAVE RIOT
The Cave Riot, founded in 2016, from the south of Hamburg is a four-piece band that ranges somewhere between indie rock and Britpop. With their driving guitars and danceable beats they get the audience moving. Their influences can be found in 60s Garage Rock bands, 80s Wave bands or newer bands like The Black Keys. The Cave Riot write English lyrics about everyday observations and little stories from life. Through their unique blend of melodic hooks and a rocking energy, they manage to inspire their listeners and provide a good time. The 4 describe themselves as an „uncomplicated band that only writes potential hits“ and are eager to tour the clubs again after the difficult last 3 years. The big goal, according to themselves, is a tour of Belgium and Japan. When asked why there, they just say: „They will love us there“.

Fr., 27.10.2023, 21:00 Uhr: THE EXBATS (US) + PAINTED AIR (HH) Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
THE EXBATS
Not to be confused with The Shaggs, or The Osmonds (Partridge Family is okay) We, The Exbats, started with a daughter (Inez) and father (Kenny) listening to lots and lots of records and writing songs. We got lucky and caught the ear of desert recording guru, Matt Rendon (The Resonars, and as of 2021, the fourth Exbat!) and we put out our first tape in 2017. In 2019 we hit the jackpot again attracting Bobby Carleson Jr. on bass. Our latest record for Goner Records is the hyper-catchy sunshine-pop inspired Now Where Were We. It’s our favorite set of songs yet. We have evolved to the point where we are basically oblivious to modern recording trends, but the lyrics do a decent job reflecting very modern concerns. We live in Bisbee, Arizona. It’s way down in the south-east corner of the state by the Mexico border. It’s a sweet little arty hippy town. Come say hi! -inez and kenny mclain. The Exbats are Inez, Kenny, Bobby and Matt. And they are all a little worried but enjoy making songs.
PAINTED AIR
Painted Air from Hamburg-St. Pauli in Germany is hailing around since 1990 and thus, just attained full age. Before getting that fuzz-tanked-organ-driven sound, Painted Air started as a typical 60s garage punk combo and in-between flirted with 60s psych and krautrock. Over the years they shared stages with some of the most legendary bands around, like Dead Moon, The Fuzztones, The Cynics, Sick Rose and The Strange Flowers. Danish frontman Martin’s prominent voice is Painted Air’s trademark. Painted Air gets its influences through the other members though: 60s specialist Tripsi on drums gives the essential beat while Fuzzomazz’ (who writes most of the songs) punkrock heart pukes raw sounds, balanced by Olli’s melodic bass themes. Painted Air was joined in 2008 by French organ goddess Organella (Curlee Wurlee!), whose saturated Vox organ finished to polish the sound of their brandnew album “Come on 69”. She was recently replaced by Czerno from the band “Rock’n’Roll Hotel”, who makes the sound even more evil! “Come on 69” was recorded analogue and under live conditions in April and June 2008, and mixed in December 2008 by Dennis Rux (Trashmonkeys) at Hörwerk Studio near Bremen, and will be released by Green Cookie Records from Greece. Members: Martin Brujah (vocals); Czerno (organ); Tripsi (drums); Olli Engel (bass); Fuzzomazz (guitar)

Fr., 27.6.2025, 21:00 Uhr: SKULL CULT (US) + PASTA (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

SKULL CULT
Brief bursts of hyperkinetic mongoloid synth punk here. A caffeine buzz blend of DEVO, URANIUM CLUB, and SERVOTRON. It's been over six years since we've last heard from this Bloomington, Indiana group which by now must be considered a highly influential force on the current garage-, synth- and eggpunk scene while in the meantime, members of the group have pumped their creative juices into acts like Belly Jelly, QQQL, Dummy and Big Hog. Now that they finally break the deafening silence, i gotta say this shit works better than ever in what must be the strongest set of tunes they've delivered so far. Just a tiny bit less weird and cluttered than on their previous efforts with more grounded, catchy and melodic song foundations and echoes of the likes of Tyvek, Marked Men and Lost Sounds, this is a strikingly mature work with all the hallmarks of a band that took a long break to branch out creatively in other projects, now reconvening to apply everything they've learned along the way with sleepwalking precision to an effortlessly wrecking result.
PASTA
Hey Tortellino! We are your future favorite band! If you're celiac and love sexy indie punk music, come dance and scream with us. BTW, if you don’t like the music, we’ll still have sexy tomato sauce (no joke). SO! Save the date and bring your fellow tortellini. We are Pasta!

Fr., 2.5.2025, 21:00 Uhr: WAX HEAD (GB) + TURNSTYLES (US) + ANDRO DYSON & UNTAMED TAMERS (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

WAX HEAD
TURNSTYLES
Turnstyles is a Memphis duo consisting of Seth Moody on guitar and Graham Winchester on the drums. Moody and Winchester play together in the Reigning Sound, Jack Oblivian Band, Cassette Set, and many other projects, but this high-energy duo is a chance to connect one on one to explore surf rock, psych rock, and rock n’ roll.
ANDRO DYSON & UNTAMED TAMERS
Franzenjacke for life!!!! Andro strikes back!!! Influenced by bands like Gun Club, The Beguiled, Wipers, this quartet, led by the enigmatic Andro Dyson, delivers raw, electrifying twang and reverb attacks.

Fr., 16.5.2025, 21:00 Uhr: EEL MEN (GB) + TÚ LA LLEVAS (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

EEL MEN
Eel Men formed in 2021. Couched in the instability of the present and the microcosm of North London, they prioritise angular guitars, straight rhythms and fanatical storytelling. After a long series of sweaty UK gigs and having already toured extensively around Europe, with gigs ranging from family friendly festivals to ex gestapo headquarters turned anarchist squats, there’s lots more on the horizon. 2025 see’s Eel Men release their debut LP ‘Stop It! Do Something.’ via No Front Teeth (UK / EU) Big Neck Records (US) and embark on an extensive EU tour.
TÚ LA LLEVAS
There’s a certain nostalgia at the core of this band’s sound, harkening back to when indie was a methodology and labels like Matador were standard bearers of guitar pop that stood left of center. The band’s name is even an homage to YO LA TENGO, so the mission statement is pretty clear. There’s a sort of dreaminess to the shimmering guitar and plaintive vocal melodies that really lands, lending depth and substance to what is ultimately a brisk listen. It’s not exactly life-changing, but it will bring a nice breeze to your day. It’s definitely exciting to hear music that calls back to a particularly rich era of indie rock that seems all but forgotten in today’s landscape in which “indie” can fill arenas. This harkens back to something simpler, personal, and expressive. (MRR #499)

Do., 12.6.2025, 21:00 Uhr: SPLIT SYSTEM (AU) + KÜKEN (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

SPLIT SYSTEM
Naarm/Melbourne, Australia has been churning out reliable punk rock since the likes of The Chosen Few and Rowland S. Howard were kicking about in the late '70s. Split System are a band that carry on this tradition into the 21st century. Cooked up behind the scenes during COVID lockdowns featuring members of Stiff Richards, Bad//Dreems and No Zu, they seemingly came out of nowhere but sounded like they'd been slamming beers to Saints and Radio Birdman records together and playing gigs for many years. In their relatively short time on the scene they have demonstrated a knack for combining muscular street punk with classic rock hooks, which has seen the band convert music lovers within Australia and overseas, sharing bills with the likes of Amyl & The Sniffers, The Murlocs, C.O.F.F.I.N., Gee Tee, Boris, Wednesday, Cosmic Psychos, Civic, Frankie & The Witch Fingers, Cable Ties, Floodlights and A Giant Dog. The band completed their first overseas tour in 2023, delivering loud, raucous and energetic sold out shows across Europe, including headline festival slots at Binic Folks Blues Festival and Get Lost. This was followed up by a spot at Australia’s legendary Golden Plains Festival in early 2024. The band will also be undertaking their first tour of the US in September and October 2024, including the legendary Goner Fest in Memphis.
KÜKEN
From the mean streets of Hamburg-St.Pauli, Küken creates a Killed-By-Death Punk wall of sound. Fronted by Ex-KIDNAPPERS, Küken does not mess around. Double-Twin vocals all the time, all songs under 2 minutes, no breaks. Think of DEAD BOYS and REATARDS mixed with CCR.

Fr., 9.5.2025, 21:00 Uhr: WATERBOARDING SCHOOL (SE) + BILLY ZACH (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg

WATERBOARDING SCHOOL
Matthias Bosenick, 27.01.2025
BILLY ZACH
Noisy Riffs, reverbish rooms, crushing Drums, pumping bass and some nagging grumbling. A hint of melancholy. Billy Zach is guitar music; angry and loud, sometimes melodious, sometimes oppressive. Despite unsteady developments, the project was continuously pushed forward and the current live equipe consists of four members, stationed In Hamburg. Billy Zach can be described as the rough sandpaper of the wholesale market named pop music – picturing the smoothing and exhausting character of their songs. Indeed, contradictions are more often wanted than feared, no matter if musical counterpoints or lyrical Paradoxes. Billy Zach sets light into dark, whispers too loud and laughs with tearful eyes. Their music represents how connected and simultaneously torn apart moments can be, without a raised forefinger. It's all about the moments.
