Fr., 27.6.2025, 21:00 Uhr: SKULL CULT (US) + PASTA (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
SKULL CULT
Brief bursts of hyperkinetic mongoloid synth punk here. A caffeine buzz blend of DEVO, URANIUM CLUB, and SERVOTRON. It's been over six years since we've last heard from this Bloomington, Indiana group which by now must be considered a highly influential force on the current garage-, synth- and eggpunk scene while in the meantime, members of the group have pumped their creative juices into acts like Belly Jelly, QQQL, Dummy and Big Hog. Now that they finally break the deafening silence, i gotta say this shit works better than ever in what must be the strongest set of tunes they've delivered so far. Just a tiny bit less weird and cluttered than on their previous efforts with more grounded, catchy and melodic song foundations and echoes of the likes of Tyvek, Marked Men and Lost Sounds, this is a strikingly mature work with all the hallmarks of a band that took a long break to branch out creatively in other projects, now reconvening to apply everything they've learned along the way with sleepwalking precision to an effortlessly wrecking result.
PASTA
Hey Tortellino! We are your future favorite band! If you're celiac and love sexy indie punk music, come dance and scream with us. BTW, if you don’t like the music, we’ll still have sexy tomato sauce (no joke). SO! Save the date and bring your fellow tortellini. We are Pasta!

Do., 12.6.2025, 21:00 Uhr: SPLIT SYSTEM (AU) + KÜKEN (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
SPLIT SYSTEM
Naarm/Melbourne, Australia has been churning out reliable punk rock since the likes of The Chosen Few and Rowland S. Howard were kicking about in the late '70s. Split System are a band that carry on this tradition into the 21st century. Cooked up behind the scenes during COVID lockdowns featuring members of Stiff Richards, Bad//Dreems and No Zu, they seemingly came out of nowhere but sounded like they'd been slamming beers to Saints and Radio Birdman records together and playing gigs for many years. In their relatively short time on the scene they have demonstrated a knack for combining muscular street punk with classic rock hooks, which has seen the band convert music lovers within Australia and overseas, sharing bills with the likes of Amyl & The Sniffers, The Murlocs, C.O.F.F.I.N., Gee Tee, Boris, Wednesday, Cosmic Psychos, Civic, Frankie & The Witch Fingers, Cable Ties, Floodlights and A Giant Dog. The band completed their first overseas tour in 2023, delivering loud, raucous and energetic sold out shows across Europe, including headline festival slots at Binic Folks Blues Festival and Get Lost. This was followed up by a spot at Australia’s legendary Golden Plains Festival in early 2024. The band will also be undertaking their first tour of the US in September and October 2024, including the legendary Goner Fest in Memphis.
KÜKEN
From the mean streets of Hamburg-St.Pauli, Küken creates a Killed-By-Death Punk wall of sound. Fronted by Ex-KIDNAPPERS, Küken does not mess around. Double-Twin vocals all the time, all songs under 2 minutes, no breaks. Think of DEAD BOYS and REATARDS mixed with CCR.

Fr., 23.5.2025, 21:00 Uhr: MITRAILLE (BE) + SENKRECHTSTARTER (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
MITRAILLE
The city of Antwerp, Belgium may be primarily known for its harbour, cathedral and diamond trade, but anyone who scratches beneath the surface can find a thriving underground scene. Especially in the last few years the great output of hardcore and garage punk bands makes one suspect that - besides massive PFAS pollution and record breaking cocaine residue levels - there must be something in the water. Mitraille burst unto this scene in 2018 with a sound that takes the bursting-at-the-seams energy of modern day basement hardcore and injects it into a strain of diseased garage- and post punk. Think Uranium Club if they were Motörhead roadies with anger management issues. The band has been shredding its way through Europe since day one, releasing three EP's and a full album in the process. With a new album due for autumn 2024, Mitraille is ready to spread the Belgian garagecore gospel once more. 'MITRAIILLE' is the second full album by Mitraille. Out 20/09 on Spastic Fantastic Records, Belly Button Records, Ronny Rex and Rockerill Records.

THE HAHAS AND THE BLABLAS
The time has come for The Hahas and The Blablas to stop being Croatia's best kept secret, because the rest of the world deserves to know this unhinged band. Under the influence of new wave giants such as B 52's, Devo, Blondie or Suburban Lawns and the new wave of various garage, bedroom and egg punk bands such as Snooper or Sweeping promises. Short, quick, danceable!

Fr., 7.2.2025, 21:00 Uhr: UNDINYX (HH) + CONTES CRUELS (B) + NA ZAROT (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
Let`s go blackkkkkkkkkkkkkkk with these 3 beautiful acts!
UNDINYX
Singer and guitarist of Hamburg, Germany’s Post-Punk act Grundeis delivers on their first solo album as Undinyx. Laura Mueller has a very nostalgic quality to her vocals. A bit Cocteau Twins mixed in with iamamiwhoami-era Ionnalee. The combination of her ethereally haunting deliveries and the rain-soaked electronic arrangements creates an atmosphere of intense longing and melancholy. A veritable tour de force of a debut, Undinyx is an act to watch. This project is classic enough to appeal to the fans of a bygone era of darkwave yet fresh enough to bring in a whole new audience. Laura Mueller is proving that she is more than capable of creating a sonic world of her own.
CONTES CRUELS
Drawing inspiration from the 80's subculture, the moody allure of the Neue Deutsche Welle, the seminal post-punk sounds of Britain, decadentist literature and experimental electronics, among others, Contes Cruels crafts their sound, characterized by minimalist compositions, vintage gear and evocative, cold lyrics. Venturing into the realms of hauntology, exploring the pervasive sense in which contemporary culture is haunted by the "lost futures" of modernity—those futures that never materialized or were eclipsed by the tides of postmodernity—the duo embodies this spectral presence in their debut EP, Séance.
NA ZAROT
"..that the pain of division is as nothing, and the joy of disssolution is all.."

Fr., 21.2.2025, 21:00 Uhr: THE SLEEVEENS (US) + TAN LE RACOON & RACOONERY (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
THE SLEEVEENS
When Irish-born Count Vaseline/The Mighty Stef songwriter Stef Murphy met Stiff Little Fingers guitar tech Jamie Mechan in Nashville, Tennessee, it began a musical partnership of the highest order. After cranking out a few tunes at Mechan’s fledgling studio, 302 Sound, the duo started recruiting other musicians. The band was rounded out by drummer Ryan Sweeney (Cheap Time) and Eli Steele (Sweet Knives.) Dubbing themselves The Sleeveens, an Irish term for a trickster, the band got to work. After recording and releasing their highly-touted “Give My Regards To The Dancing Girls” 45rpm single on Sweeney’s Sweet Time Records, they finished off their 11 track debut LP. The quartet were soon approached by longrunning punk label Dirtnap Records (Marked Men, Exploding Hearts) for the album’s 2024 release. The resulting LP is an homage to the kind of classic punk Chiswick, New Rose and Stiff Records were releasing 45 years before The Sleeveens existed. With earworm melodies and screaming guitars, the foursome have crafted one of the best albums of the year. Murphy’s penchant for charmingly brilliant, matter-of-fact lyricism has a similar poetic quality as Mark E. Smith or Jonathan Richman. With expert mastering by Jim Diamond (The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs) to put the finishing touches on the sound, The Sleeveens is a record that is simultaneously uncompromisingly raw and thoughtfully crafted.
TAN LE RACOON & RACOONERY
Kick it.

Fr., 22.11.2024, 21:00 Uhr: DATA UNKNOWN (US) + NIGHT PUNCH (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
DATA UNKNOWN
If you haven’t, it’s probably time to get on board—this thing is great! At times they sound like CHROME trying their hand at drum machine egg-punk, at others they sound like one of the weirder Ralph Records acts (probably SNAKEFINGER) covering, like, “Let’s Have a Party” by PSYCHOTIK TANKS. If only more acts were this eager to annoy while being this unbothered by trends! Total brain-melt in the best way. This is some pretty wild stuff, tho. Indianapolis, IN-based, lo-fi drum-machine-driven weirdo punk/new wave/noise/synth kookiness, and it all somehow works really well together. DATA UNKNOWN leans heavily on the drums (not just the “beats,” per se, but the drums…even if they’re programmed). Electronic freak-outs with shouted choruses, think CHRISTIAN LUNCH by way of TUBEWAY ARMY…or imagine early punks turning primitive classics like HUMAN LEAGUE’s “Being Boiled” into infectious, danceable punk slogs. All of the sounds feel old, but DATA UNKNOWN is the freshest thing I’ve heard in ages. (MRR reviews)
NIGHT PUNCH
What the hell happened in 2019? Five ex-members of fine Garagepunk-bands wake up in burned out underground parking garage. Where shadows give birth to more shadows something was taken shape, that's now captured by NIGHT PUNCH on tape. An intense Synth-Punk-monolith of 13 songs coming blazing fast at you, taking a short rest, only to hit even harder afterwards. Take a breath inbetween, when synth-melodies straight out of late 70ies horror movies announce the next attack. Beware! NIGHT PUNCH act uncompromising, but not blunt: razor sharp guitar riffs cut through and drive everything in front of them with the restless drums in unholy union. MicroBrute und MicroKorg-synth are not this dominant, they create a dark atmosphere and a hookline here and there – biting like acid. The vocal are another piece of the puzzle - ragged/hectic, then disgusted/resigned again – a good fit to the lyrics, that range from existentialist self-disgust to nightmarish metamorphoses a la Lynch or Cronenberg. There is even the wish to quit civilization and to live in a barrel like Diogenes.

Fr., 15.11.2024, 21:00 Uhr: LOTHARIO (AU) + MUTUAL GHOSTING (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
LOTHARIO
Drunk Fuck / Black Hair 7″ I want to take a moment to commend Mr. Goodbye Boozy. I feel like the 7”—the best medium for punk!—is becoming an endangered format. Most labels are either abandoning them entirely, or charging, like, $12 a record to make them financially viable, which I have to imagine contributes to their waning popularity. Meanwhile, Goodbye Boozy is pumping them out like there’s still a market for stocking jukeboxes, and offering them up at fairly punk-friendly prices. And he continues to hook up with acts that are perfect for the format. Take for instance LOTARIO, a new recording project from Melbourne artist Annaliese Redlich (IMPERIAL LEATHER/Triple R’s Neon Sunset program). Here we’re getting two quick, catchy tunes, one per side, about being dumb and horny and bored. It’s part dum-dum garage punk à la BUCK BILOXI (who’s playing drums here), part An Ideal For Living-era JOY DIVISION, part something with a more industrial timbre, like late ’00s LILI Z, but also still a little melodic and gentle (particularly this B-side). It’s great! Do I need more than five minutes of it? I mean, I’d certainly take it! But let’s just appreciate this release for what it is: an easy-to-digest portion of cool punk and a lovely artifact that doubles as a great argument for the continued existence of the best format. You should buy a copy! (MRR #486, November 2023)

Fr., 18.10.2024, 21:00 Uhr: THE UNKNOWNS (AU) + THE HAERMORRHOIDS (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
THE UNKNOWNS
Since forming in late 2014, The Unknowns (Joshua Hardy – vocals/guitar, Nathan Montgomery – bass, Tom Butler – drums, Eamon Sandwith - guitar) have brought their old- fashioned authentic rock n’ roll to numerous venues around Australia, including but not limited to: The Triffid, 170 Russell, Sol Bar, The Gov, The Zoo, The Tote, Factory Theatre and the Barwon Club. The band has also supported North American power pop trio Mean Jeans on their recent Australian tour, and Melbourne punk pioneers the Meanies. They have toured and performed alongside Ed Kuepper (The Saints), Frenzal Rhomb, The Chats, Clowns, Pist Idiots and countless more. Driven by their passion for timeless music expressing honest emotions, the band delivers an unassuming simplicity through sharing their garage rock and power pop song writing sensibilities. With dynamic live sets and their enigmatic stage presence, The Unknowns perform with a sense of freedom and passion that is indicative of not only their youthful enthusiasm for all things punk rock, but also with the ability to harbour and nurture their strong bond as friends and band mates hailing from Southeast Queensland. The Unknowns earnt the opportunity to release their first EP via independent Australian label Bargain Bin Records, releasing a 7” single in August of 2019 that included tracks from their first full length LP, ‘Nothing Will Ever Stop’. Their new album, entitled ‘East Coast Low’ is a compilation of songs written by all members of the band and was recorded at Hunting Ground Studios in Brisbane. Engineered by Cody McWaters, the group spent a week in the studio refining what will be their sophomore LP. In the opening track, lead guitarist and vocalist Joshua Hardy sings: “Ill do what I have to do, to get home back to you” - his voice full of echo and a sense of timeless desperation. Similarly, on the track ‘Thinking About You’ he laments: “Every point of latitude, makes me think of my position”. The songs have a romantic overture that is reminiscent of the first 3 Ramones albums, pouring ones heart out through the medium of well written garage punk music. The riffs are all power, full of hooks and fascinating melodic guitar interplay between Hardy and Sandwith.

Fr., 4.10.2024, 21:00 Uhr: BILLIAM AND THE SPLIT BILLS (AU) + INSULIN (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
BILLIAM AND THE SPLIT BILLS
First time ever in europe!! Melbourne simple-to-the-core new wave-y synth punk, filled with mid-paced drums and cheap, soft keyboards all merged with lo-fi submarine telephone vocals. Self described as the first "autism-core" artist, Billiam is a frantic, off the walls, 21 year old from Naarm who's been yelling into mics since until his voice snaps since he was 16. Billiam has been unreasonably prolific with his brand of snotty and paranoid punk music with lots of synths, weird guitar riffs and warped sense of melody as he yells about Shadow The Hedgehog and Hall And Oates inspired nightmares. Billiam has been putting out records, both self released and on labels like Goodbye Boozy, Erste Theke Tontraeger, Warttmann Inc, Under The Gun and Legless Records since 2020 jumping back and forth between endless sounds of drum machines, blown out synthesizers and screeching vocals telling tales of Sonic The Hedgehog, Cardboard Boxes and Autism Spectrum Disorder. He records and plays everything himself out of sheer boredom and terror in a mad scientist fashion in order to keep his specific brand of “autismcore” going His most recent LP, Animation Cel, is his most fully formed yet with an endless barrage of idea after idea moving out of step with itself trying to get to the next sound quicker than the last blown out with fuzzy warmth and harsh feedback in a soup that’s aroma can be smelt two states across with an equal amount of songs about figuring out your brain and Knuckles the Echidna Billiam & The Split Bills formed on New Years Eve 2022 as a ragtag group of early 20s degenerates with the only goal of making a lot of very stupid noise as fast as they can, blowing out the sound of the records to Mach 51 speeds, blasting through song after song with only breaks for strange improv and an endless barrage of brechtian alienation. They’ve played with the likes of Snooper, The Meanies, Split System, Ghoulies, Civic, The Cavemen and Electric Chair and have gone all over Australia playing in any state that will let someone get on stage and yell about Hall And Oates. Their debut European/UK tour is brought to you by Wild Wax Shows and Budget Living and will take place from September 27th to October 31st.

ZOMBEACHES
Zombeaches harness the optimistic yearnings of tomorrow whilst maintaining the liberating essence of a ‘carpe diem’ attitude. Naarm post-punks Zombeaches have dropped their sophomore album, A Taste Of Oxygen. To celebrate the release, the band are taking us through the collection of songs track-by-track. “The album is a celebration of life itself, though while at times it dips into darker tones such as isolation, mortality, suicide and depression it aims to never linger in this space for too long as each song is written with a sense of hope, appreciation and celebration. There is a common expression of beauty, admiration and love of the world in which we live and for the people that live in it. The world can be seen as a dark place right now and it can be easy to let many things bring you down. The album aims to not be defined by darker times and urges to push forward and appreciate the happiness and love that surrounds.. Perhaps in essence the title itself serves as a gentle nudge in recognising the profound beauty and fragility of life.” band member James Young shares.

Sa., 24.8.2024, 21:00 Uhr: REHASH (BE) + WASTING PIGS (HH) – Komet Musik Bar, Hamburg
Tumblr media
REHASH
(https://blogs.taz.de/popblog/2023/01/18/neue-bands-rehash-panik-in-das-bauhaus/)
youtube
WASTING PIGS
Wasting Pigs are a Hamburg-based duo consisting of two mysterious masked musicians. Coming from unknown origins many scholars and academics have tried and failed to get to the bottom of this enigma, one of the only clues being their deep southern accents. One thing is clear though, these fellers sure ain’t from round these parts. Talk of vanishing deep in the bayou, riding the rails, being arrested and southern cooking set the scene when Wasting Pigs takes the stage. This horror/twang inspired twosome’s sound unifies the country and doom genres. They fluctuate from heavy enough for moshing to melodic enough to sing along with and everything in between. The guitarist, known as Wasting, provides mostly clean vocals while the drummer, Pigs, uses a more gruff and aggressive tone for the heavier tracks. Much more than just a musical performance, Wasting Pigs keep the masses thrilled with on-stage antics and stunning displays of clownery, twisted balloons, tall tales and ghost stories. In fact with their crowd-working one might consider the audience the third member of the band. Their “let’s not take this too seriously” style of entertainment isn’t limited to their live shows though as the two included three radio-plays on their debut EP, Wolfman and other tall Tales.
Don't miss that show!!

Tumblr media
THE JUDGES
Now The Judges, who first banded together in musical protest against the prevailing “pop” music, find themselves caught up in a routine similar to that of any pop star. The radio and television broadcasts, the concert tours, the ballroom and club engagements and so forth – these are now part of the life of The Judges. But their greatest satisfaction is that in spite of their phenomenal success they can still play the kind of music they believe in and carry it to an ever widening audience. The smiles on the five faces of The Judges are quite understandable.
FEMMES FATIGUEES

Tumblr media
THE COVIDS
A new band from Amsterdam bringing you some extremely contagious punkrock! The band started during the first pandemic lockdown in The Netherlands, so they decided to take the name “The Covids” as a badge of honour. Some of their live shows which were planned in this period were postponed 13(!) times because of ongoing restrictions. But in the fall of 2021 they finally exploded onto the stage with fire and fury. Their love for ’77 punkrock and more pop-oriented styles result in a unique and irresistible sound: catchy, raw and energetic. Singer Mehdi is a frenetic frontman with muscular melodies backed by a powerhouse drummer (Sid), slashing guitar riffs (Paul) and guttural bass lines (Max). After taking the Dutch underground scene by storm, the band is ready to ‘superspread’ their sound all over Europe! The band has released their first single "Certified (Do it)" in 2022 and debut album "Bust to Bits" in 2023 on Wap Shoo Wap Records. This May they will release their new single “Banned From The USA”.
