Hello. Please could you write Kuranosuke getting drunk and being grizzily towards his brother during Shuu's awkward engagement party he arranged. Shuu's sober and having to be 'big brother' whilst Kuranosuke's scolding him and gets sick over his blazer. (Nice new blog btw) :)
Engagement. Engagement. The word was foreign to Shuu; it might as well have been of a different language entirely. Never in his life did he consider the idea of falling in love with someone and marrying them plausible - possible for others, sure, but not for him. He just had never considered himself the type to gather enough courage to put himself out there in such a way.
So, once acknowledging that he had managed to go against his very own nature in order to propose to someone he loved, i.e.: Tsukimi, he couldn’t help but regard the situation as anything other than surreal. The fact that she, after much delay, said yes only made everything seem all the more unreal… in the best way possible, of course.
With that in mind, he came to the realization that this, his engagement party, should become one of the most memorable moments of his life. Looking around, he had no doubt that it really would be, but not for the reasons he would hope.
Engagement parties typically were just like any other party, but with a few distinguishing factors. Firstly, the party itself was meant as a celebration for a couple’s prospective wedding, and, secondly, only friends and family were invited. Knowing this, Shuu wasn’t entirely sure if he should, or if he even could, consider what was transpiring around him as an engagement party. Though the gathering was planned to be attended only by those who knew the couple well, it was clear that both his father and uncle had invited fellow politicians to accompany them. This would’ve be fine had it only been a few, but the amount of people Shuu wasn’t familiar with wildly outnumbered the attendees he did know.
So, the two rules that would have made the celebration an engagement party were broken. Still, he figured this would only be a minor setback in what he hoped would turn out be a pleasant evening. As long as he could spend time with Tsukimi, he didn’t consider this a huge issue. But, as far as he could tell, he couldn’t spend time with Tsukimi. He wasn’t even able to find her amongst the large crowd of unfamiliar faces.
It wasn’t just Tsukimi that he didn’t see, sadly. None of the people he had invited, family or acquaintances, were anywhere within eyesight. Or, at least, that’s what he had thought before spotting Kuranosuke purposefully making his way toward him. The two were never close and rarely saw eye-to-eye, but Shuu found himself relieved to see his younger brother nonetheless.
After recognizing that the look on Kuranosuke’s face was of irritation, though, Shuu’s brief moment of comfort dissipated. His brother was as unpredictable as one could manage to be, so Shuu was well aware that he’d likely be unprepared for whatever Kuranosuke had in store for him. And that he was.
“Where’s Tsukimi?” It was a reasonable question to ask, given Shuu’s fiancé was nowhere in sight, but his voice had a surprising hint of bitterness behind it, which left Shuu confused to say the least.
“I’m not sure… I tried looking for her, but I haven’t seen her.”
Strangely, Kuranosuke looked even more incensed once Shuu offered his answer. “‘Tried looking for her’? You’re just standing here! If you’re just going to avoid Tsukimi all night then-” He raised a fist to his mouth and muffled a low, rumbling burp before continuing, “Then why did you even have the engagement party?”
Avoid? As much as this false assertion would’ve gotten under his skin in any other scenario, he was more concerned than anything. Kuranosuke seemed…inebriated. Or perhaps just tipsy. Others probably wouldn’t have picked up on it as quickly, but Shuu knew his brother well. Kuranosuke wasn’t a lightweight, so any sign of a drunken state was subtle. The most prominent indication, at least to Shuu, was the loss of a filter. Granted, Kuranosuke was a fairly open person, but when his emotions became this obvious, Shuu knew it would be best to keep him away from any alcohol, at least for an hour or so.
“Kuranosuke… How many drinks have you had? The party’s only been going on for a half hour at most.” Kuranosuke brushed off his comment, seemingly annoyed by even his genuine concern. Despite Kuranosuke’s blasé attitude on the matter, Shuu knew that drinking a lot in so little time could be dangerous. His worry was certainly justified.
Kuranosuke began to reply before hastily closing his mouth and lurching forward. A wet belch rang behind his sealed lips and Shuu watched, with apprehension, as his cheeks filled with what Shuu could only assume was his own stomach contents.
He straightened up, swallowing back vomit, subsequently cringing in disgust. “God, that was close.” Shuu couldn’t agree more. He had previously been paralyzed with dread, but now that the moment had passed, he hurriedly grabbed Kuranosuke’s arm and began tugging him to the nearest restroom. “What are you doing? I’m-”
At the sudden break in Kuranosuke’s speech, Shuu paused to turn around - just in time to receive a splatter of thick brown liquid all over the front of his blazer. While Shuu remained still, horrified into immobility, Kuranosuke knelt down as another wave of muck splashed onto the carpet as well as Shuu’s new shoes. By now, the attention of the crowd was drawn to them, humiliatingly enough. As embarrassing as it was, it was almost amusing to grasp that, yes, this would definitely be one of the most notable nights of Shuu’s life. Unfortunately, it would definitely be among the many that he would like to forget.

Headcanon: Parents
Tumblr media
His parents are both alive and well. They inherited the home they live in from his paternal grandmother who worked as an interior decorator till she was well into her 70′s. When she could no longer work, Akira’s parents moved in with her to take care of her till she passed. In turn, she asked as a live-in babysitter for their son. She passed away before his first year of high school.
His mother works as a very successful CPA and is a wizard when it came to numbers. She would punish Akira harshly if his grade ever slipped in mathematics. His father works as a director at building firm. He started as an architect and climbed his way up the corporate ladder.
They are both VERY busy people and when Akira was sentenced to probation, neither could account for their son’s comings and goings. This is why they sent him to Sojiro Sakura to take care of for the year.
When he returns home, he is often left alone and only sees his parents for dinner (If at all).
