I went to Harajuku to enter Yurinan, the Japanese confectionary shop, which sells the Tamagotchi dorayaki again along with the new kohakuto puzzle!! 😋💓
But Yurinan was way too crowded because of the anime event nearby. What's more, the temperature was over 35 degrees in Tokyo. So I finally give up to enter...😭
The dorayaki is in my memory in April 🥲 >> https://www.tumblr.com/tokyodirectdiary/715162076018081792/the-tamagotchi-dorayaki-sandwiches-in-takeshita?source=share

((@storiedocs Chitose))
“Happy Valentine’s, Jiraya! This is for you!”
It’s a plush frog holding a heart (though the heart could be removed and replaced with any number of small items so as to be an all-season decoration). There’s a little tag that says “handmade with love” attached to one of the seams (though the bandages on her fingers already attested to many, many needle pricks).
Along with the frog is a little cellophane bag of sweets: crunchy-chewy fruit-flavored kohakuto gummies in heart shapes and Valentine’s colors, as well as a selection of simple chocolates. (Everything’s immaculate, as expected from a food service worker.) The bag is tied with a red ribbon.
“Do you know when a plushie’s birthday is?” Chitose asks with a smile.
“It’s the day you tie a ribbon around it and give it a name. And if you name it after someone you love, it’s said that that person will always return your affection. Pretty neat, huh?”
A childish legend from an occasionally childish person.
“Heh how cute.” Jiraiya says.
He takes the plush from her. It was very adorable. And as far as he can recall this is the only time anyone had gotten him something so nice.
“Really? I’ll have to come up with a good name then, won’t I?” He flips the frog around and holds it up against his chest. “I think this is the nicest gift anyone has ever gotten me. Thank you, Chitose.”
It seemed a shame to ruin a perfect ribbon tie but he pulled on it to get to the goodies inside of the bag. While sweets aren’t his favourite he wouldn’t turn down something that was put together with so much thought.

if your art/art style was food I feel like it'd be kohakuto. all fun and bright colors, it's crispy on the outside and has a really impressive clean look, but once you get past the surface it's soft and chewy and sweet. i know this is a VERY weird ask but your art genuinely evoked such a visceral "I want to sink my teeth into this" kind of feeling that my brain immediately equated to a comfort childhood confection
ahhhh this is isn't weird at all, this is so sweet!? (no pun intended, unless) i've only ever had kohakuto once so i had to look it up but i LOVE that, thank you anon!! it makes me super happy that's the kind of taste and feeling my art evokes!!

[スタオケ] La Corda d'Oro Starlight Orchestra Mikado Ukiha Cast Story Chapter 4 Translation
*Starlight Orchestra Masterlist | Mikado Ukiha’s Personal Masterlist
*Spoiler free: Translations will remain under cut
*Mikado's Route Tag will be #Ukiha’s Star
Ukiha: Is everything alright? You seem troubled.
Ukiha: I see. Something about the ensemble the other day caught your notice, but you are unable to pinpoint it while practicing alone...
Ukiha: That makes sense. You can only understand what needs to be tuned and balanced out by playing in time with others.
Ukiha: I would offer to join you and aid you in picking out the issue, but… I do not think it would be of much help now, would it?
Ukiha: Your problem most likely lies in the bigger sounds of the Orchestra.
Ukiha: I am sure that everyone would gather at a moment's notice at your command, but it would be hard for everyone to do that all the time.
Ukiha: How about dropping by my place? There may be a book in my late father's collection that could be of help.
☆ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦♬◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ☆
Ukiha: You may take anything that is on that shelf over there.
The large bookshelf is lined with neatly arranged books.
Ukiha: No one here reads anymore. Hence, that shelf has not been touched in a long time.
Ukiha: I am sure the book would be happier to be read rather than sit on a shelf forever
Apparently, Mikado’s father was a composer, and not only did he have books about composing, but also books on performance skills…
Looks like these books are worth a read.
Next to the bookshelf was a glass display filled with trophies and certificates.
Ukiha: …Ahh, are you curious? These are all things that I have won in past competitions.
▷Choice: ALL of these!?
Ukiha: Indeed. I competed in not just the Clarinet category, but the piano category as well.
Ukiha: The more competitions you join, the higher the chances of winning, right?
Ukiha: Either way, it is all in the past. I have not entered a competition in years.
Ukiha: Even if I were to participate in one now, I would probably be treated as nothing more than an eyesore.
Ukiha: After all, the “Mikado” name is now cursed.
Ukiha: These awards may not have been mine to begin with. They may have been given in my father's name.
Ukiha: The world of fine arts is not always sunshine and rainbows. There are always many things going on behind the scenes, especially when it comes to judging who wins or loses.
Ukiha: I had a hidden ace up my sleeve that could easily turn the tables around in my favor.
Ukiha: And that shelf… is evidence of that.
▷Choice: I don't think that's the case.
Ukiha: …How brazenly put.
▷Choice: Really?
Ukiha: Not convinced, are you?
☆ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦♬◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ☆
Ukiha: You did not know the house I hailed from on the day we met, but you were still attracted to the music I played.
Ukiha: That is the power a Mikado holds.
☆ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦♬◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ☆
▷Choice: I like the sound of your music
Ukiha: …
▷Choice: It's not so simple to win, that you can win with name alone.
Ukiha: …
Ukiha: Why are you always so…
Ukiha: Honest? …Your words resonate surprisingly well with me, despite being overly blunt at times.
Ukiha: To be able to say things without even a shred of shame or fear…
☆ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦♬◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ☆
Ukiha: Your sincerity is blinding.
☆ ━━━━━━━ ∘◦♬◦∘ ━━━━━━━ ☆
Mikado Family Servant: Excuse me. Ukiha-sama, I have brought the tea you asked for.
Ukiha: Ahh, thank you, Fuki. Please place it over there.
Ukiha: Try it, (L/n)-san. Today's tea is paired with Kohakuto, a Japanese crystal candy.
Ukiha: Shaped into the form of a chrysanthemum flower, it is no doubt a beauty to admire as well.
Ukiha: I can have some packed up for you to bring home with you if you would like. It is a sweet that lasts for a while, after all.
