(´•ω•`) hello..! i need help from any of my bookworm followers here..!! i would like later on the year get an e-reader, and had kobo libra colour in mind.
if anyone happens to have one (because i can't find any information online) is it possible to double highlight?
I understand libra colour has 5 colors for highlighting: yellow, green, blue, purple and pink.
when i'm using PC, i have only 5 available colors
Tumblr media
but it allows me to highlight and then highlight on top of the highlighted text, so i get color combinations:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
that's how i get orange, purple, hot pink, and different greens (´•ω•`) which might seem a little extra, but it helps me organize very specific things..! (i'd also like to have more options becausei never use the yellow.... reminds me of school... he is my enemy)
(´•ω•`) if anyone has experince with one, i'd be very grateful 💙

Haven’t written or drawn anything for a while cause I’ve been reading more for work recently (and for fun too) and just sketched this out.
Also I put a Sun and Moon sticker and primary color charm on my Kobo Libra 2!
Tumblr media
It makes me so happy and I have not lost my love for these two! I will do more as well

Kobo Libra Colour and Kobo Clara Colour Bring Something Exciting to the eReader Space
It’s been a while since we wrote about Kobo and the Kobo Reader, but here’s some exciting news — Kobo Rakuten has unveiled the Kobo Libra Colour and Kobo Clara Colour eReaders. These devices mark Kobo’s debut into color E Ink technology, departing from the traditional black-and-white digital reading experience that most, if not all, of us are used to on our eReaders.

I was fortunate enough to see a random comment on a reddit post that the new ones were coming out today so i didn't order a libra 2. I still don't know which one to choose but i will now wait for proper reviews of the new ones before i go down the pros and cons spiral again
Kobo just announced color ereaders at reasonable prices just two years after I upgraded my 10 year old Kobo Aura to a Kobo Libra 2 and I'm SEETHING... The one in the Libra line has handwriting support.....

did you ever end up getting a kobo e-reader? they came out with some new models recently. one has color and an optional stylus. it looks really nice
I did!! I was thinking of getting the kobo libra colour but because it was my first time trying e-readers I decided to settle for the kobo clara colour!! it didn't disappoint one bit!! but one thing that made me a bit sad was the kobo plus catalogue... many of the books I've been dying to read aren't there but oh well 🙍‍♀️

you guys,,,, ive been thinking about buying a new e-reader because my kindle is 6 years old and 1) is laggy. 2) can only be charged with one really random charger i own??? 3) battery drains way too quickly.
so im considering buying a kobo one (either a libra 2 off ebay or the new color one. because: buttons and generally improved features etc) but idk if it's worth the $150-220 it would cost,,,, what do you guys think
(and it's not like i can't just read on my phone/ipad but i am trying to cut down on screentime etc)

does anyone here use the kobo libra color instead of a kindle? or use a specific type of kindle maybe? what do you enjoy using as a reading tablet?
i’m thinking of getting a new reading tablet since my kindle is barely functional right now (maybe because it’s from 10 years ago help) and i might be able to afford an upgrade

just ordered the brand new kobo libra colour e-reader and I am SO excited. i've been wanting a better way to read comics than my laptop or phone, and this is perfect (I'm very willing to give up some color vibrancy and screen size for e-ink and not being a tablet). plus it has good note taking and annotating features.
I liked my family's e-reader fine as a kid, but I hadn't really looked into them since because 1) black and white is frustratingly limiting, and a total no go now that I'm reading color comics, and 2) I refuse to lock myself into amazon or b&n's systems when 85% of what I want to read is through libby, 3rd party stuff i already have downloaded, fic as epubs, or academic articles and journals. but kobo does all that easily, plus is a linux os with a very active hacking community. I'm so excited to play around with devmode.
the real hope is that this will help me get back to regularly falling asleep before 4am. currently a big problem is that my partner goes to bed at 10pm when i generally can't fall asleep until 1am at best, plus they're sensitive to light. so I hang out in the living room and miss my narrow sleepy window and end up being awake till 3 or 4, even on nights I don't have Real Insomnia. this will give me something I can actually do in bed without bothering them too much (that isn't just 'scroll tumblr/youtube or try to read on my awkwardly small phone screen').

I’ve been eagerly waiting for the Kindle Colorsoft to launch in India and checking out all the first reviews from the USA. But guess what?! 🎉 Something even better happened—Kobo finally launched its eReaders in India for the first time! And I couldn’t resist… I got myself the Kobo Libra Colour! 📚✨
I’m so excited to dive into the world of colorful reading 🌈💕! If you’re a Kobo user, please share your favorite tips, tricks, or must-try features with me! What should I explore first? Let me know!

Before I jump into talking about my current read and my thoughts on it, I just want us to all take a moment and appreciate how pretty my Kobo Libra Colour is. I love that I can post colored covers and not need to photoshop most of them now. 😍

✨️✨️ Currently Reading ✨️✨️
One of my current reads right now is The Daughters' War by Christopher Buehlman. I have been craving a high/epic fantasy and decided to dive into this arc.
I have had Christopher's book-The Blacktongue Thief, on my tbr for a while now and wanted to read that one sometime this year. It's been just sitting there on my eReader, eager to be read.
With that said, The Daughters' War is a prequel to The Blacktongue Thief, so I'm not feeling lost as I read this book.
With The Daughters' War, we follow Galva. Galva is such a fun character to follow because she is set in her ways, stubborn, caring, and hilarious. She wants to prove to her three brothers that she belongs in fighting for the war. Speaking of the war, there is an infestation of Goblins, and it's the humans vs. Goblins.
I'm not super far into this book, but I'm excited to see where this book takes me and how Galva nativgates with this war and deals with the invasion of Goblins. I feel that Galva is going to find that not everything is black and white and have to decide what to cherish, how to grieve, and what is good/evil.
If you are a Brandon Sanderson, John Gywnne, James Islington, and a Mark Lawrence fan with the amazing storytelling, the humor, and grit, then you will love this.
I'll post another update on my thoughts or just post a review once finished since this book is so good.

So I've been trying to figure out what I wanna do about picking up a new ereader for a while. I don't want to pick up another Kindle because the less money I put into Amazon the better. Boox (and other Android tablets with e-ink screens) are probably the best option in terms of, well, options. Android means I'd have access to a ton of apps to expand what I'd be able to read. But those are expensive, the battery life isn't /that/ much better than a normal tablet, and Boox specifically has had dozens of posts about their screens obliterating themselves, with their customer support being basically nonexistent. So I don't feel like rolling the dice on dumping a ton of money into something that might end up useless in under a year. Other brands are a possibility but they're all pretty well unknown entities so. Also rolling the dice in a different way.
I have no real desire to tap into Nook, so the only real option I keep coming back to Kobo. They have Overdrive functionality built in, so I'd be able to just rent ebooks (and presumably audiobooks? though those I don't mind listening to through my phone anyway) straight from my library on the device, which is part of why I was looking at Boox. No Hoopla is unfortunate but I'll just have to deal with that. So the question then is which one. And with the Clara Color being like $20 more than the BW option I may as well just pick up the Color, since I don't expect that the somewhat dimmer/lower contrast screen will bother me too much, as a tradeoff for having a color e-ink display. And I don't /think/ the extra features on the Libra Color make it worth the jump in price? Especially since I'd have to also buy a pen to use with it to unlock most of those features. The doubled storage would be nice but. Eh.
So now I just have to actually pull the trigger and buy it.
