For pride and the gay tau, who's your favourite oc, or the one you're most obsessed with currently?

My favorite OC is probably my Shas’o Ko’Shi who is also Bisexual like me! Unlike me, he is very short compared to most T’au and has bright red hair (Similar to Shadowsun’s) that he keeps short with a traditional hair braid on the side. He’s very clever and was a bit of a prankster when he was younger. This earned him the name “Kirsa'erra” in the Fire Caste academies which is most closely translated to “trickster fox spirit” in Gothic

Queerness is welcomed in T’au society as all individuals have a place in the Greater Good. While marriage in human terms isn’t super common in the T’au empire, Ko’Shi has had several long term relationships, with his two longest that are currently ongoing being with two of his Saz’nami (bodyguards). These two are Shas’vre T’au Yesu’to Oru’elan Gun’ran (Gun’ran for short - He/him pansexual) and Shas’vre T’au Begel Li’sun O’erue (Li’sun - She/her heterosexual).

These three have been part of the same Ta'lissera (Team bonding/Marriage - loosely translated) since their early careers. Relationships like this between team members are often encouraged as it is believed to promote camaraderie and teamwork. If anyone’s interested I can go into more detail about either of them/their relationship with Ko’Shi (^_^)

I was hoping to show you a fully painted Ko’Shi by today, but Nurgle has once again cursed myself and my two daughters so y’all get a WIP instead :/

He’s coming along really nicely, and he’s the largest battlesuit I’ve painted so far. Still need to finish the red highlights and paint his helmet, Shoulder and rank stripes on his legs white, then I’ll clean up the black and do detail work like lights and metallics. Really proud of how this one is turning out

And with that, the Cadre is built! The last model was my Enforcer Commander and now I’m shifting heavily into painting. Looking forward to putting down the glue for a while and making my army look awesome.

My commander is Shas’o T’au Ko’vash Shi (nicknamed Shas’o Ko’Shi by his Shas’vres). His names mean “In pursuit of a worthy cause” and “victory” together meaning “noble victory”.

He was initially part of the 3rd Sphere Expansion (when I last played) but his fleet was struck by an anomaly while returning to T’au and he was lost to space along with half of his Cadre. It wasn’t until well into the 5th Sphere Expansion that a weak distress beacon was detected by Air Caste scouts using an antiquated signal. To the amazement of the scouts, the source of the signal was a derelict T’au wreck; but more amazing was that thousands of Stasis Pods on board were still active, including that of their commander Ko’Shi.

Ko’Shi now finds himself in a very different T’au Empire than that of his birth. Larger, more powerful Battlesuits dominate T’au strategy and there is a startling rejection of aliens among many of the Fire Warriors serving beneath him. Ko’Shi is very much a traditionalist at heart and believes the Tau’Va is for all, and he staunchly opposes the suspicion of his peers.

Despite being a T’au out of time, Ko’Shi has had several notable victories and surviving members of his original Cadre have flocked to his banner once more, eager to follow him as he fights to spread the nobility of the greater good to the stars.
